Tommy & Ben start with Gaza: the UN Human Rights Council's finding that Israel has committed genocide, and Israel's ground operation into Gaza City. Last week's fatal shooting of Charlie Kirk was deeply disturbing, and as Andrew establishes at the start, “murder is murder” and those responsible must be held to account. In this heart-to-heart episode of the Dad Edge Podcast, I sit down with my 19-year-old son, Ethan Hagner, for a raw and honest conversation about growing up, gaining independence, and building strong family bonds in the process. Together, we explore what it means to transition from teenager to young adult while still staying connected to family values, respect, and open communication. We dive into how to respectfully disagree with parents, how to manage emotions in a healthy way, and the importance of creating space without disconnection. Ethan shares his personal experiences—from turning down college parties to navigating long-distance relationships—and how he's developed healthy coping mechanisms like ice baths, workouts, and prayer. On this episode of Fox Across America, Jimmy Failla mocks ABC News correspondent Matt Gutman for taking time on Tuesday to point out the “intimate” nature of the text messages sent by Charlie Kirk's alleged killer Tyler Robinson. President Trump's border czar Tom Homan checks in to call out Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson and other Democratic leaders for putting politics over people by resisting the presence of ICE agents. PLUS, host of the “Kennedy Saves The World” podcast Kennedy stops by to talk about how the free speech and open debate on college campuses that Charlie Kirk pushed for is something that we need more of across the board in society. In this episode of "Normal World," Dave Landau, 1/4 Black Garrett, and Angela open with travel stories, awkward flights, and quick-witted banter before turning to the week's heavier headlines. The panel unpacks the shocking assassination of Charlie Kirk, spotlighting the bizarre reaction from UK musician Bob Vylan and the broader issue of how rhetoric, censorship, and media hypocrisy fuel division. They question the blurred lines between free speech and incitement, noting how consequence culture has replaced accountability in unpredictable ways. From there, the conversation shifts to Hollywood's big night, the Emmys. The hosts joke about whether anyone still watches, then break down Hannah Einbinder's viral “F—k ICE and free Palestine” acceptance speech. They contrast celebrity activism with Ricky Gervais' famous warning against using awards shows as political pulpits, while also reacting to Nate Bargatze's understated hosting and the fading relevance of televised ceremonies. The tone pivots again with satirical riffs on Vince Neil's health scare, a comedic “Half-Assed Top Ten” of Motley Crue stroke songs, and the strange saga of Luigi Mangione, whose supporters include fans claiming to be married to his AI. The episode closes with a reflective tribute as Mike Imbasciani performs a musical dedication to Charlie Kirk. Today's guests on "Normal World" are Mike Imbasciani & Dusty Carter. Co-hosts Jared Yates Sexton and Nick Hauselman break down the chaotic aftermath of Charlie Kirk's assassination and how the right is exploiting it. They unpack the instant anti-trans scapegoating, JD Vance's open calls to wield state power against political opponents, Stephen Miller's “domestic terrorism” dragnet fantasy, and a media ecosystem already capitulating. They trace the Overton window lurching right, the surveillance machine waiting to be flipped on, and why even an ICE killing barely registers amid the frenzy. One of your favorite psychologists, Harry Segal, is back to describe and interpret Trump's strange behaviors this week, from his tone-deaf response to the Epstein-Maxwell victims to his mysterious medical symptoms. Since John Gartner is on assignment, Ahmed Baba, columnist, journalist, and frequent pundit on cable news, sits in as Harry's guest co-host. (Check out his bestselling Substack newsletter: AhmedBaba.News.) And be sure to subscribe wherever you get your podcasts: Our site Subscribe on iTunes Subscribe on Spotify Subscribe on Amazon Music Subscribe on iHeartRadio They dive straight into Trump's two recent court defeats—one over tariffs, another over immigration restrictions—and ask why he keeps dragging outdated laws back into the spotlight. Rather than solving real problems, these lawsuits feel like rehearsals for the next manufactured crisis, with each loss chipping away at his claims of unchecked authority. They turn next to ICE raids and Trump's fiery rhetoric about cities like Chicago. When Governor J.B. Pritzker publicly rebuked the suggestion of federal troops on Illinois soil, Baba unpacks the political calculations and racial undertones driving that showdown. It becomes clear this tug-of-war isn't just about policy; it's about how power is flexed when constitutional guardrails start feeling optional. The episode also confronts Trump's lingering ties to Jeffrey Epstein. Survivors and advocates are demanding the release of Epstein's files, yet Trump brushed the whole scandal off as a hoax—an impulsive reaction that only deepens doubts about his judgment. With approval ratings sagging, Siegel and Baba trace how these knee-jerk defenses betray deeper cognitive strains, calling into question Trump's ability to respond thoughtfully under pressure. Through it all, Shrinking Trump never loses sight of its mission: to spotlight the mind games at work and equip us for the battles ahead. By naming the psychological warning signs—whether it's crisis-manufacturing lawsuits or off-the-cuff dismissals of serious allegations—we reclaim a degree of clarity in a chaotic political landscape. Listening here isn't just about critique; it's about shoring up our own defenses and reminding ourselves why democratic norms matter. Catch this episode of Shrinking Trump on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you tune in. You'll walk away not just with a sharper take on Trump's latest maneuvers, but with the language to call out authoritarian playbooks the moment they emerge. Learn more about your ad choices. As families prepare to send their kids back to school this year, some parents must face a new worry: will their children make it home safely, or will they be there to greet them, at the end of the day? Trump's immigration crackdown is taking a toll on families across America, particularly under new guidance that allows ICE to arrest people in places where they were formerly prohibited from doing so—like schools, healthcare facilities, and places of worship. How will this impact students and families across the nation—and what can we do to fight back?Helping us to sort out these questions and set the record straight is our very special guest, Kevin R. Johnson: Kevin R. Johnson is the former dean and a Professor of Law at UC Davis. He is also Professor of Chicana/o Studies and Director of the Aoki Center for Critical Race and Nation Studies at UC Davis. He has published extensively on immigration law and civil rights. He is the author of How Did You Get to Be Mexican? A White/Brown Man's Search for Identity (1999) and Immigration Law and the US-Mexico Border (2011). Johnson blogs regularly on immigration law and policy developments at ImmigrationProf, and is quoted regularly by the New York Times, Los Angeles Times, and other local, state, national and international news outlets. The 11th Circuit Court of Appeals has halted the imminent closure of the infamous "Alligator Alcatraz” detention camp in Florida; now, the future of the facility, and the people incarcerated within it, remains in limbo. “But no matter the future of Alligator Alcatraz, the Trump administration is turning it into a model for expanding detention capacity across the country,” Shannon Heffernan and Beth Schwartzapfel report at The Marshall Project. “Similar large-scale facilities, opened in collaboration with state governments, are already in the works. These projects mark the first time that states have gotten this involved in large-scale immigration detention.” In this episode of Rattling the Bars, host Mansa Musa speaks with Heffernan about how the Trump administration, in collaboration with state governments, is expanding the US system of mass incarceration to unprecedented levels. Is this a housing market correction or a crash? Dave Meyer and ICE's Andy Walden unpack the Mortgage Monitor: nominal home prices are up about 1.1% year over year, but real housing prices are negative; sellers are stepping back, inventory gains are cooling, and demand still tracks mortgage rates and interest rates, which points to a soft but functioning housing market. You'll hear the regional story in Denver, Florida, and Texas, why FHA delinquencies are inching up while 2020 to 2021 loans perform well, and how soaring property insurance is squeezing affordability and debt to income ratios. Plus, a housing market prediction/forecast: if mortgage rates land in the low sixes (around 6.25% by year end), expect firmer home prices rather than a COVID era surge. This episode exposes the shocking rise of political violence targeting ICE agents, including documented attacks and assassinations by Antifa militants. We examine how mainstream media coverage often buries these stories, leaving Americans unaware of the danger faced by federal law enforcement. We also tackle controversial political narratives, separating fact from fiction, including claims about policing origins and the misrepresentation of ICE agents as “slave patrols.” Beyond the attacks on law enforcement, we dive into a horrifying crisis: tens of thousands of migrant children lost under the Biden administration, many subjected to sex trafficking and death, according to international reporting. From Antifa's lethal campaigns to the systemic failures endangering vulnerable children, this episode sheds light on the violence, deception, and bureaucratic negligence that few are talking about — and what it means for the safety of America.
Today's episodes dive deep into the escalating threat of left-wing extremism, the mainstreaming of political violence, and the alarming cultural shifts in America. From disturbing polls showing a sizable percentage of liberals who justify violence, to the celebration of Charlie Kirk's assassination and harassment of conservatives, we uncover the dangerous trends that are largely ignored—or covered up—by the media. We examine real-world examples: antifa attacks on ICE agents, radicalized students and faculty, targeted harassment of conservative families, and left-wing activists pushing violence as a norm. High-profile cases, including campus protests and social media incitement, reveal a coordinated, widespread threat that demands awareness and action. The episode also contrasts conservative civility with leftist extremism, highlighting the importance of accountability, lawful responses, and standing firm for free speech. With insights from J.D. Vance and others, we explore how to confront this culture of violence while protecting truth and justice in a deeply divided America. This is a wake-up call to recognize the danger, push back responsibly, and ensure the safety of communities and the integrity of American values.
In this explosive episode, we break down the shocking rise of left-wing political violence and its mainstream acceptance among a segment of the population. From the assassination of Charlie Kirk to attacks on ICE agents and targeted harassment of conservative families, the threats are real—and often hidden by the media. We explore disturbing statistics showing how many liberals justify violence, the proliferation of pro-murder rhetoric on campuses, and the dangerous influence of radical voices like Hassan Piker. Hear firsthand accounts of harassment, intimidation, and the steps conservatives are taking to push back, including holding perpetrators accountable for their online incitement. This episode also highlights the broader cultural war: how misinformation, celebration of political violence, and the rise of radical leftist networks threaten free speech, public safety, and the rule of law. We close with a call to action—standing firm in truth, civility, and defending the values that underpin a free society. It's a wake-up call for every American concerned about the creeping normalization of political violence and the urgent need to confront it before it spirals further.

Would our troops be used to quell demonstrations in the United States with force? Seeing crowds in Washington, D.C., during the George Floyd riots in 2020, Trump is reported to have asked "Can't we just shoot them?" How do we answer the question as to whether the current administration will have U.S. troops fire on the crowds? We will look at the Constitution, especially the 10th Amendment, the Insurrection Act of 1807, and the Posse Comitatus Act of 1878. We will review some history where the military has been used domestically to safeguard civil rights marchers, intervene when requested by governors during violent riots, to stop the Bonus March on Washington in 1932, and to imprison Japanese civilians during World War II. We will also define who is in today's military, where do they come from, how do they line up politically—and would they follow an illegal order and fire on unarmed civilian demonstrators or support a government coup? This is concerning, says Dr. Michael Baker, given the militarization of ICE agents and the deployment of National Guard troops and the Marines to Los Angeles for specious reasons. About the Speaker Dr. Michael Baker recently retired from a 40-year career in general, vascular and trauma surgery. He also served 30 years in the uniform of his country and retired with the rank of Rear Admiral and has numerous kudos, including 3 Legion of Merit Awards, the Combat Action Ribbon, and River and Coastal Patrol Officer-in-Charge warfare pin. He has experience in strategic planning, wargaming, combat casualty care, triage, operational medicine, and response to complex disasters and humanitarian emergencies. He currently teaches history, political science, and military affairs for the Osher LifeLong Learning (OLLI) Programs at UC Berkeley, Dominican University, Cal State University East Bay and Cal State Channel Islands; and he is on the Board of Governors of the newly combined Commonwealth Club World Affairs. He teaches Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) to physicians in the United States, at military bases around the world, and most recently returned from his 5th tour in Ukraine teaching ATLS to physicians in that war-torn nation. In Missouri, authorities have finally identified a man whose body was discovered in the Mississippi River south of St. Louis back in 1994. In Franklin Park, Illinois, just west of Chicago, ICE officers say they fatally shot Silverio Villegas-Gonzalez after he allegedly tried to evade arrest by driving his car at officers, dragging one of them. In New York City, authorities have apprehended a suspect in a brutal double homicide involving an elderly couple whose home was set on fire. Nearly 25 years after four bodies were discovered in New Hampshire's Bear Brook State Park, one of the young girls has now been identified.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Regional trains in Germany carried 1.6 billion passengers in 2022, ten times more than the high-speed ICE trains, connecting small towns with reliable service. Our journey between Leipzig and Dresden reveals the impressive frequency of German regional rail, with 40 daily trains between cities comparable to Austin-San Antonio, which has just one Amtrak service per day.• Leipzig, Germany's 8th largest city with 600,000 residents, boasts Europe's largest train station by structure size• Dresden, with a similar city population but a larger metro area of 1.3 million, is well-connected with 38 daily trains from Leipzig• Austin-San Antonio (75 miles apart) could benefit from similar regional rail, especially with growing communities between them• Tampa-Orlando represents another promising American corridor, with Brightline potentially providing 10 daily trains• New York-Philadelphia demonstrates regional rail success in America with 45 daily trains between major population centers• Effective regional rail doesn't require high-speed infrastructure—just double-tracking, electrification, and frequent service• The Deutschland ticket (€58/month) covers all regional trains and local transit nationwide, eliminating fare barriersIf you're interested in supporting Transit Tangents and getting bonus content, check out our Patreon page.Send us a textSupport the show

Trump is making a deal with China, tariff money is coming in and all he needs is to get the rates lowered, this is why he needs control over the Fed. Panic. The [DS] is ready to unleash Antifa onto the streets. Trump is now prepositioning the NG troops in each city, they will only be there to protect federal buildings or assist Ice, but they will be there when needed. Trump is now saying that certain left wing groups are being investigated, most likely Antifa is one of them. When the riots begin, Antifa will be designated as a terrorist group. Game over. Economy https://twitter.com/newstart_2024/status/1967553172689297415 and "sensitivity" to fundamentally "reshape" our entire society. What "deficiencies" does he want to correct? He names them: a "lack of inclusion" and a system that isn't "fair." This is the language of radical, top-down social restructuring. The pandemic, he boasts, was a useful tool to increase this "new alertness" — a wake-up call they intend to answer on our behalf. This isn't about the environment. It's about power. It's about using the pretext of a climate emergency to dismantle and rebuild our economies, our social contracts, and our very way of life according to their utopian, technocratic vision. They believe they can engineer a "better" life for us, whether we want it or not. This is the Great Reset, stated plainly. It's the culmination of their belief that you must be guided to your own salvation. The ‘Gold Standard' of Jobs Data Is Broken—And America Is Paying the Price here's something incredibly wrong at BLS, and for the sake of our economy, it's time to fix it.From March 2024 to March 2025—a period mostly covering the final year of the Biden administration—BLS overestimated job numbers by 911,000. In other words, for that period, the nation added a stunning 911,000 fewer jobs than were originally reported, the largest such error on record.Let that sink in. But it's a lot worse than that. Over the last three years, the BLS has overcounted nearly 3 million jobs that didn't exist. These aren't random errors when every revision skews in the same direction. Even more troubling, the BLS numbers released last week pointed in opposite directions. One survey showed 22,000 jobs created while the other suggested nearly 300,000. Which is it?By relying on faulty data and skewed reporting methods, BLS essentially invented millions of jobs that weren't there. That flawed data was then used by the Biden administration and the legacy media to promote a job market that didn't exist, instead of reporting the weak jobs' recovery. Policymakers throughout the government rely on BLS data to shape decisions on taxes, spending and monetary policies. Americans across the country rely on BLS data to judge how elected officials' decisions affect their daily lives and the issues that matter to them, meaning flawed data could change the outcomes of our elections. Most of the period covered in this week's report took place in the waning days of President Joe Biden's tenure. For his last year in office, BLS job numbers were off by more than 50%.That overestimation came during a highly contentious election focused largely on the economy and centered on issues like jobs and inflation. Flawed BLS data painted a far better picture of Biden's economy than real...

Trump says his administration is opening investigations into leftist groups. Last night, he told reporters that “when you look at the agitator, you look at the scum that speaks so badly of our country, the American flag burning all over the place, that's the left. That's not the right."Trump has ramped up his speech to divide the country following the killing of right wing influencer Charlie Kirk. Despite word from authorities that they are still trying to pin down a motive in the murder, Trump continues to blame what he calls the radical left. Now, he says leftist groups are already under major investigation," though it's unclear what the investigations would be for, exactly, other than openly dissenting Trump's lean into authoritarianism. David Waldman and Greg Dworkin voice the patriotic, uplifting, free thinking that this nation needs and deserves. Accept no substitutes! You know Tyler Robinson. Tyler can check that box off, although you, and humanity in general seem to be an abstract concept to him. What outsiders don't get is that Tyler loaded his rifle with skibidi bullets to join the Pepe elite in brain rot Valhalla… And, to show the sort of love that only he and Mark David Chapman can truly understand. Utah Governor Spencer Cox hoped this wasn't about him. None of us do. Plenty of others where Tyler came from. Some people think of Charlie Kirk as an inspirational, encouraging speaker. Some people see him as a speaker who inspired and encouraged violence and hatred. Charlie demonstrated how one could be both. Plenty of others where Charlie came from. No one can say a bad word about Kirk. Not if they want to keep their job… or life. Kari Lake has noticed that school shootings keep occurring at schools. MAGA knows that no true MAGA would ever commit a violent act, and anyone who says so won't see tomorrow. MAGA was too lefty for Charlie, and Charlie was too lefty for Groypers. That makes Donald K. Trump the FDR of our time, except from the shoulders up rather than the hips down. There also are a lot of things that Trump fears more than fear itself. For instance, Trump is hiding from Chicago down in Memphis, while ICE attempts to sucker punch the wind out of the Windy City. South Korea has Trump filling his pants as if they designed the assembly line. Everybody seems more scared of Trump than Brazil was of Bolsonaro. Kathy Hochul endorses Zohran Mamdani. It's about time, and it is the time.

Organizing is collective action. It is the tool we employ to overcome harms sanctioned by the state and committed against those who are perceived to be powerless. Organizing exposes inequities, identifies who perpetuates them, and generates solutions to systemic injustices. At a moment when our national leaders are leveraging their powers to undercut civil rights, detain and deport Latinx men, women and children without adherence to laws or norms, organizing is more than an option, it is a necessity. In this episode of Power Station, I am joined by Danny C, whose commitment to mobilizing underserved communities was shaped by his lived experience as the son of migrant parents who struggled with housing costs and displacement. He co-founded La Colectiva, a nonprofit powered by Northen Virginia's robust Latinx population. It is leading critical organizing campaigns about how ICE, Amazon and ICA-Farmville operate at the expense of and without accountability to Latinx people and all communities of color. It exposes how Democratic leadership fails to honor community over corporations. La Colectiva is making seismic shifts in Virginia's power dynamics and its reports put that information in the hands of those who are empowered to do better. Hear him!

They told us things like: “My family's worried when they go outside because of ICE,” or “I dreamed about the police coming to our house and they got our parents.” As increasingly aggressive ICE raids sweep the country, Latino USA follows the stories of young Latinos with undocumented parents navigating the quiet hopes, joys and challenges of summer vacation. They do this in a stark new immigration reality in which fear, uncertainty and the looming threat of family separation now shape even the smallest details of everyday life. Latino USA is the longest-running news and culture radio program in the U.S., centering Latino stories and hosted by Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Maria Hinojosa.
