Hello and welcome to Bill vs the MCU! Each month your hosts Pop Break Podcasting Director Alex Marcus and Pop Break Editor in Chief Bill Bodkin are taking another step into the wider Marvel Multiverse as the MCU dives deeper into their Multiverse Saga.Bill & Alex spent all of 2022 rewatching the first four phases of the MCU, and, in the years since, they have covered the first four seasons of Agents of SHIELD, the entire Netflix Defenders Saga, Fox's X-Men, Fantastic Four, and Daredevil films, the Blade trilogy, a few Punisher films, Ang Lee's Hulk, and, most recently, Marvel's Modern Animation line up of shows. This month, Alex & Bill are celebrating Valentine's Day by covering the most romantic Spider-Man franchise: The Amazing Spider-Man and The Amazing Spider-Man 2, the two films Sony made because they contractually had to make…something. These films star Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, and a wildly overqualified cast of supporting players. They get into how these films came into being, what about them works better than you might remember, what about them is even worse than you thought was possible, and what Sony's Spider-Man Cinematic Universe that almost was might have looked like before they fired Garfield and kicked the franchise's creative direction over the Marvel Studios for a second reboot in under a decade. They also give early thoughts on Wonder Man and the latest trailer for Daredevil: Born Again Season 2, both of which the pod will cover in their July 2026 episode.Come back next month for part three of Podding the Spider-Verse with reviews of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018), now streaming on Netflix, and Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (2023), now streaming on Disney Plus!

Wonder Man In this episode we are getting our thesp on and flexing our character actor muscles with the latest slightly rehearsed and barely directed dramatic reading from the beloved theatrical powerhouse that is Marvel Studios. Wonder Man (which is in no way connected to Wonder Woman) takes a sharp left turn in style and attitude from the usual Marvel fare. We follow two actors, desperate to get the role of a lifetime in a world where not only is superhero fatigue a real thing, but it's also legally controlled; especially on film sets. Will this super powered Simon get his role that he has been building an entire career to achieve or will Trevor get 25 to life for his history? Three of the team, Quinny, Peta and Dion are in this improv group and they are "Yes, and" ing as hard as possible. We follow two actors, desperate to get the role of a lifetime in a world where not only is superhero fatigue a real thing, but it’s also legally controlled; especially on film sets. Will this super powered Simon get his role that he has been building an entire career to achieve or will Trevor get 25 to life for his history? Three of the team, Quinny, Peta and Dion are in this improv group and they are “Yes, and” ing as hard as possible. The SuperHero Homies! Podcast returns with a packed episode featuring a full spoiler review of Marvel Studios' Wonder Man TV series, plus a major conversation about the future of fantasy adaptations in Hollywood. We kick things off with a cold open breaking down the groundbreaking deal between Brandon Sanderson and Apple, and what it could mean for the live action Cosmere universe. We discuss potential Mistborn movies, a Stormlight Archive TV series, fan casting ideas, Sanderson's creative control over his IP, and why this partnership has fantasy and sci-fi fans excited. For our main discussion, we dive deep into Wonder Man, Marvel's latest Disney+ series. Instead of following a traditional superhero formula, Wonder Man leans into a character study and buddy comedy, focusing on tone, relationships, and self-discovery rather than massive world-ending stakes. We discuss why many viewers seem to love the show, including one of the hosts, while also examining where it falls short. One of us thinks the series feels low stakes and meandering at times, while both of us agree that Wonder Man still represents a refreshing creative swing for the MCU. If you enjoy MCU TV reviews, Marvel Disney+ discussions, comic book adaptations, superhero podcasts, and pop culture breakdowns, this episode is for you. Wonder Man is the newest Marvel Studios television series on Disney Plus. In this episode, I chat with Brian Gay, Co-Executive Producer of this series, about Wonder Man and about Brian's career. Brian worked alongside Kevin Feige and Marvel executives to develop Black Panther, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, Thor: Ragnarok, Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Spider-Man: Far From Home, Captain Marvel, Loki, Hawkeye, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, and Werewolf by Night. As Wonder Man is described on Disney Plus, "Aspiring Hollywood actor Simon Williams is struggling to get his career off the ground. During a chance meeting with Trevor Slattery, an actor whose biggest roles may be well behind him, Simon learns legendary director Von Kovak is remaking the superhero film "Wonder Man." These two actors at opposite ends of their careers doggedly pursue life-changing roles in this film as audiences get a peek behind the curtain of the entertainment industry.” To plan a trip, be sure to work with KMV Travel. Here's today's episode of The Kristian Harloff Show, and the big question on the table is a spicy one: Is Wonder Man actually the cure for superhero fatigue? Early reviews are in, and Wonder Man is being called the best-reviewed MCU TV series in four years, with critics praising its originality, tone, and willingness to break away from the Marvel formula. Some are even calling it the most refreshing Marvel show since WandaVision—which is no small claim. We break down what's working, why audiences seem to be responding, and whether this could signal a creative turning point for Marvel Studios. Also on the show, we dive into Spider-Man's future, as Spider-Man: Brand New Day director Destin Daniel Cretton teases a major tonal shift for the next web-slinger outing. What does that mean for Peter Parker, and how different could this movie feel compared to previous MCU Spider-Man films? Plus, with Super Bowl LX right around the corner, we run through the six blockbuster movie trailers you absolutely can't miss, including what studios are expected to drop and which upcoming films could dominate the conversation heading into 2026. All that, plus speculation, debate, and plenty of hot takes—let us know in the comments if Wonder Man won you over or if superhero fatigue is still very real for you.
