Right Start Radio with Pastor Jim Custer

In this court, we hear the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth - about you. Everyone desperately wants to think of himself as a "good person," and many convince themselves that the delusion is real. One day, at the Great White Throne Judgment, those folks will see themselves as God sees them: not as "mostly good, with some minor flaws," but as stained, ruined, sinful. Jim has called that day "Payday," and we've been learning about it in Revelation 20. Paul longs to live his life in a way makes the truth of the gospel clear to all. Unbelievers cannot see the gospel clearly because the god of this age, that is Satan, has made their minds blind. The same God who pronounced “Let light shine out of darkness,” must also shine into the hearts of men so that might see and believe. Our frail and humble bodies carry the infinite worth of Christ like jars of clay hiding treasure. Even though we are afflicted and persecuted in our frailty, we do not give up, for our affliction is producing for us the eternal weight of glory in the heavens. Later, Paul brings up the judgment seat of Christ, an event where the Lord reveals and judges the life of the believer. Keep in mind that this is not a judgment which determines whether or not someone will enter heaven, but a judgment for those who have already entered heaven by faith in Christ.  :::Christian Standard Bible translation. All music written and produced by John Burgess Ross.Co-produced by the Christian Standard Biblefacebook.com/commuterbibleinstagram.com/commuter_bibletwitter.com/CommuterPodpatreon.com/commuterbibleadmin@commuterbible.org

«Porque no nos ha dado Dios un espíritu de cobardía, sino de poder, de amor y de dominio propio» (2 Timoteo 1:7) ¿Qué pensarías si yo te dijera que puedes vivir sin temor? ¿Me creerías si te dijera que, a pesar de lo que veas en las noticias esta noche, podrás estar perfectamente en paz? ¿Imposible? ¿Ficticio? ¡No! Right Start Radio with Pastor Jim Custer

What do you mean by, "Hell?" Hell is the place you don't want to go when you die. That definition will work fine for most conversations. It's the place of anguish and torment. The team unpacks how Job's ritualistic sacrifices for his children's theoretical sins actually created spiritual vulnerabilities through fear rather than building protection through faith.• Job was described as perfect and upright, yet his actions revealed deep-rooted anxiety• Satan looks for "breaches in the hedge" of spiritual protection created by fear• The first thing Satan destroyed was Job's oxen—strategically eliminating his means of sacrifice• Job's statement "the Lord gave and the Lord hath taken away" was his misunderstanding, not God's truth• The critical distinction between integrity (moral character) and faith (spiritual character)• How to properly interpret scripture: "Every scripture is truthfully stated, but not every statement is truth"• The importance of understanding God's true nature through Jesus rather than through Old Testament misinterpretations• Practical ways to close spiritual doors that fear has opened in your life• Why actions—not just thoughts—reveal where our true faith liesWant to better understand how God's true nature aligns with Jesus's words in John 10:10—"I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly"?

Jesus knew that His Apostles' battle would continue after He ascended to heaven. Satan would go after them and seek to destroy them. Youth Culture Today with Walt Mueller

With anxiety off the charts as a growing epidemic among children and teens, I want to spend this week offering some strategies you can employ to prevent anxiety in the kids you know and love. Perhaps the most effective strategy is to teach them to preach the Gospel to themselves. Teach them to speak to their hearts, telling their hearts to follow the Gospel rather than allowing their hearts to speak to them. You see, our feelings are not trustworthy. They can lead us astray. They are especially dangerous during times of emotional highs and lows. While the mantra of today's culture is “follow and trust your heart,” the mantra for the Christian should be “follow and trust the Gospel.” I have found the words of this old hymn to be helpful: “God is God, he sees and hears, all our troubles, all our tears. Soul forget not, ‘mid your pains, God o'er all forever reigns. Fear not Death nor Satan's thrusts, God defends who in Him trusts. Soul, remember in your pains, God o'er all forever reigns!”

An episode from Ranchero Drive Baptist Church, a Bible believing, Bible preaching church in Kerrville, Texas. What Ranchero Drive Baptist Church (RDBC) Believes: The ScripturesWe believe the scriptures are verbally inspired of God making them the supreme and final authority for our faith and practice, and are preserved in the KJV Authorized Version.  GodWe believe in one God existing in three persons (The Holy Trinity): God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. Existing without beginning and without end.  JesusWe believe in the Deity of Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, Hissinless life, His death on the cross to pay in full the debt for our sins, His resurrection, and His coming return.  The Holy SpiritWe believe the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity, one with the Father and the Son, the indweller of every believer to enlighten and seal each believer until the day of redemption of the body.ManWe believe that God created man in His image in a state ofinnocence, but through temptation, man transgressed and became dead in trespasses and sins. As a result, all men inherited a corrupt nature, are born in sin and are under condemnation. Security of the BelieverWe believe that those who, by faith, receive Jesus Christ as their personal Savior are born again of the Holy Spirit, are the children of God, are heirs and joint-heirs with Jesus Christ, are kept by the power of God and can know they are eternally saved forever! Last ThingsWe believe in the imminent, pre-tribulation, pre-millennial return of Christ. The Lord shall return for His church and rapture out the church at any given moment. The world will then enter into a seven-year period of tribulation that will end with the battle of Armageddon and the Second Advent of Jesus Christ. He will come as “King of Kings” and “Lord of lords”, and establish His kingdom that will last for 1,000 years. The Lord will then judge the living and the dead at the Great White Throne Judgement (which is different from the judgement Seat of Christ where the Lord judges the Church). After this, all the lost, Satan, death and hell are cast into the Lake of Fire, while the Lord and His saints enter into “Eternal Bliss”.  You may write to Ranchero Drive Baptist Church at:801 Ranchero Road, Kerrville, TX 78028Have A Blessed Day,Ranchero Drive Baptist Church  The KJV Bible Preaching Churches Podcast is directly supported by Doss Metrics LLC | Ministry Services based out of Cleveland Texas. Episode SummaryIn this insightful episode, Dr. Jim Van Gelderen reveals one of Satan's most effective tactics: convincing believers to trust in themselves. Through a gripping story from a Vietnam War veteran and powerful truths from Ephesians 6, he shows how self-reliance—rather than strength—is often our downfall in spiritual warfare. If you've ever felt defeated despite trying your hardest, this message will open your eyes to the real source of strength: moment-by-moment dependence on Jesus Christ.Topics DiscussedRevival updates from Michigan and upcoming ministry in ColoradoA wartime illustration of enemy deceptionWhy self-dependence is spiritual sabotageWhat “be strong in the Lord” really means (Ephesians 6:10)The role of English grammar in understanding the BibleHow human strength fails under spiritual pressurePersonal reflections on a lifetime of weakness and God's faithfulnessPrayer as the breath of dependenceThe connection between pride, self-reliance, and defeatHow to face spiritual battles with real powerKey TakeawaysSatan doesn't need to overpower you—he just needs you to trust yourself.Real strength isn't self-generated. April 25, 2025 - Equipped 2025 - Day 2 - 7:15PM Session   Jimmy leads a bible study comparing the life of Paul and the perspectives of Isaiah.   1 Timothy 1 -Greeting 1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ, by the commandment of God our Savior and the Lord Jesus Christ, our hope, 2 To Timothy, a true son in the faith: Grace, mercy, and peace from God our Father and Jesus Christ our Lord. No Other Doctrine 3 As I urged you when I went into Macedonia—remain in Ephesus that you may charge some that they teach no other doctrine, 4 nor give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which cause disputes rather than godly edification which is in faith. 5 Now the purpose of the commandment is love from a pure heart, from a good conscience, and from sincere faith, 6 from which some, having strayed, have turned aside to idle talk, 7 desiring to be teachers of the law, understanding neither what they say nor the things which they affirm. 8 But we know that the law is good if one uses it lawfully, 9 knowing this: that the law is not made for a righteous person, but for the lawless and insubordinate, for the ungodly and for sinners, for the unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, 10 for fornicators, for sodomites, for kidnappers, for liars, for perjurers, and if there is any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine, 11 according to the glorious gospel of the blessed God which was committed to my trust. Glory to God for His Grace 12 And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord who has enabled me, because He counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry, 13 although I was formerly a blasphemer, a persecutor, and an insolent man; but I obtained mercy because I did it ignorantly in unbelief. 14 And the grace of our Lord was exceedingly abundant, with faith and love which are in Christ Jesus. 15 This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief. 16 However, for this reason I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might show all longsuffering, as a pattern to those who are going to believe on Him for everlasting life. 17 Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, to God who alone is wise, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen. Fight the Good Fight 18 This charge I commit to you, son Timothy, according to the prophecies previously made concerning you, that by them you may wage the good warfare, 19 having faith and a good conscience, which some having rejected, concerning the faith have suffered shipwreck, 20 of whom are Hymenaeus and Alexander, whom I delivered to Satan that they may learn not to blaspheme.   Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qsvUPDvyP18   Duration 44:58

“We Will Never Be Forgiven”Mark 3:20-3020 Then Jesus entered a house, and again a crowd gathered, so that he and his disciples were not even able to eat. 21 When his family[a] heard about this, they went to take charge of him, for they said, “He is out of his mind.”22 And the teachers of the law who came down from Jerusalem said, “He is possessed by Beelzebul! By the prince of demons he is driving out demons.”23 So Jesus called them over to him and began to speak to them in parables: “How can Satan drive out Satan? 24 If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. 25 If a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand. 26 And if Satan opposes himself and is divided, he cannot stand; his end has come. 27 In fact, no one can enter a strong man's house without first tying him up. Then he can plunder the strong man's house. 28 Truly I tell you, people can be forgiven all their sins and every slander they utter, 29 but whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven; they are guilty of an eternal sin.”30 He said this because they were saying, “He has an impure spirit.”CONNECT WITH USIf you have any questions or would like to get to know us further, head over to https://www.triumphlbc.org/connect and fill out our online connection card.ABOUT TRIUMPHTriumph wants to see the life and message of Jesus transform your heart, home, and city. Fergie – “Fergalicious” ⭐️ 2.1 / 10 Label: A Delicious Flop Pastry RecordsAh yes, “Fergalicious” – the 2006 cultural artifact that dared to ask: what if a spelling bee had a sugar crash during a rave at Claire's Accessories?Fergie, freshly emancipated from the Black Eyed Peas' deeply important catalog of "My Humps" and "Let's Get Retarded," decided it was time to define her solo artistry by shouting her name over a beat that sounds like a Fisher-Price drum machine possessed by Satan's annoying little cousin. There's a beat, technically. There are lyrics, allegedly. Will.i.am, never one to skip a paycheck or a confusing production decision, blesses the track with all the subtlety of a jackhammer in a porcelain museum. Together, they craft a song that's somehow both aggressively confident and terminally insecure – like if Regina George had access to FruityLoops and unresolved trauma.Lyrically, it's a feminist manifesto if feminism were exclusively about making boys drool while you “be up in the gym just workin' on your fitness.” Fergie is your witness. We know this because she tells us. Over. And over. And over.To its credit, “Fergalicious” is deeply committed to being what it is: a chaotic, hyper-glossed sugar rush of ego and electroclash. It is the sonic equivalent of chewing 14 pieces of Hubba Bubba while being screamed at by your older cousin who just discovered ringtones. You don't listen to “Fergalicious.” You survive it. You emerge on the other side a little dumber, a little gayer, and a lot more appreciative of silence.Recommended if you like:Spelling your name in publicThe scent of pink glitterThe phrase “tasty, tasty” shouted at 120 bpmFinal thought: It's not so much a song as it is a personality disorder set to a ringtone.DUBBY DUBBY is declaring WAR on big Energy! "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full." — John 10:10 Identity theft is a growing threat today. Scammers try to steal our personal information and gain access to our financial accounts. In the spirit world, another identity thief lurks as well. The master deceiver, Satan, tries to rob believers of the assurance of their new identity in Christ. He tries to sow seeds of doubt, despair, confusion, and insecurity within us. If he cannot possess us, the devil wants at least to wear us down and make us feel defeated, limiting our service for God and his kingdom. But we are not alone. We have the presence of God in our hearts, and we have God's Word to assure us and strengthen us with the truth. Jesus promises that we will have life to the full, and no one can snatch us out of his hand (John 10:28-30). The Lord and his Word remain our best protection, affirming that we are not defined by past successes or failures but only by our union with Christ. Through faith, we receive his righteousness and become the children of God. We are forgiven, cleansed, and commissioned to be his representatives in the world. As God's handiwork, we are created to do good works that honor the Lord and bring blessing to others. As God reassures us through his Spirit and his Word, we are redeemed, beloved, and empowered to live out his purposes with confidence and grace each day. Lord, help us to see that our worth is defined by you, not by the opinions of others. By your Word and Spirit, assure us always that in you we have full life forever. Amen.

1 Peter was written to believers facing unimaginable persecution-from torture and crucifixions to even being burned alive and used as human torches in Nero's gardens. What can we learn from these first century believers?  The book of 1 Peter is a powerful guide for navigating suffering for your faith. In this episode of Remnant Radio, we sit down with leading New Testament scholar Dr. Craig Keener to discuss his commentary on 1 Peter and explore its incredibly relevant message for believers today.Dr. Keener unpacks how the original recipients of 1 Peter were called “foreigners” and “resident aliens,” a term that highlighted their vulnerable status in a hostile world, especially in the face of impending persecution. We dive into crucial themes directly related to suffering and persecution, including:-Seeing ourselves as “foreigners” in this world.-How suffering for Christ became a badge of honor.-Responding to mistreatment with Christlike love, not retaliation.-Standing firm against Satan's attempts to make us fall away through pressure.ABOUT THE GUEST:

Episode Summary: Today, we're exploring a topic that feels counterintuitive but profoundly transformative: "How to Rekindle Your First Love.” Together with Pastor Jessica Van Roekel, we’ll examine why this is important, how it helps us live our lives in Christ, the warning signs of losing it and how to get back to it. We’ll offer biblical wisdom, personal stories, and practical insights to help you embrace joy as a choice, a fruit of the Spirit, and a testament to God’s faithfulness. Quotables from the episode: Search for identity and purpose can only be found in our personal relationship with God. We cannot chase Dr. Michelle’s experience with God, my experience with God, or your pastor’s experience with God. We gather corporately for worship services, but the rest of the week, we “gather” with God as an individual. We must seek our own revelation of his love for us, who we are IN him and TO him. Life confuses, distracts, or points us to look at the world or church leaders for insight into ourselves. Ultimately, Christ reveals himself and will return to set things right. No more broken hearts or tears. All hope will be fulfilled. All promises will be kept. The book of Revelation uses imagery to describe the end of time, but the letters to the churches at the beginning of the book are easy to understand. Christ’s purpose for the letters are to challenge, encourage, warn, and build up believers and churches throughout history. The letter’s values for us today includes: a revelation of what Christ loves and values along with what he hates and condemns. They also give us a clear statement about consequences for disobedience and spiritual neglect along with rewards for spiritual alertness, diligence, and faithfulness to Christ. They also provide the standard for any individual or church to judge their true spiritual condition and provide an example of Satan’s methods for attacking and working against the church or individual Christian. The Christians in Ephesus were complimented for: toil, patient endurance, separateness from evil, pursuers of truth, bearing up for the Lord’s sake, not grown weary. They were criticized for losing their first love. The first love is defined as: commitment to the original love, truth, purity, and power of Jesus and his original revelation. Our first love protects and helps us live the way Jesus calls us to. Our first love protects us because it helps us avoid sin, prevents us from running after false teaching, and helps us not forsake Jesus. But the consequences of losing our first love means we forget about loving the hurting, loving our fellow siblings in Christ, and about our own lost, wretched nature before we gave our life to Christ and his Lordship. We can lose our first love through spiritual distraction, loneliness, weariness, focusing more on the battle rather than our Victor, listening to other voices, and allowing religious actions to replace relationship. But God gives us warning signs. Let’s go through the warning signs: delight in something/something else more than God; lacking of longing for prayer and Bible reading; don’t think about God throughout the day; claim to “be human” to excuse behaviors/attitudes; and lack of cheerful giving or service. There’s more: treating other Christians with more judgment than kindness, view Christ’s commands as restrictions to happiness, striving for mankind’s acclaim, allowing fears to control decisions to share the Good News of Christ, refuse to give up an activity that displeases God, complacent to sinful attitudes around you, and unwillingness to forgive. To rekindle our first love, we choose to remember God’s love, his faithfulness and our initial love for him. We can remember what he saved us from and how we were before we welcomed him into our lives. The second way to rekindle our first love is to REPENT. Jesus, our High Priest, stands ready to forgive us if we would turn and come to him. We need to admit we’ve lost it, stop ignoring the warning signs and bring our “spiritual” care into the “mechanic” for service. He stands waiting for us and we don’t need to be ashamed or put undue pressure on ourselves. The third step is to RETURN. Return to where you lost it. Don’t try to be a mile ahead of where you use to be. Go back and begin again with renewed love for God. Don’t beat yourself up for letting your love for God grow cool. Remember you’re not alone, remember God is for you and loves you. Repent and return. Scripture References: Revelation 2:1-5 To the angel of the church in Ephesus write: These are the words of him who holds the seven stars in his right hand and walks among the seven golden lampstands. I know your deeds, your hard work and your perseverance. I know that you cannot tolerate wicked people, that you have tested those who claim to be apostles but are not and have found them false. You have persevered and have endured hardships for my name and have not grown weary. Yet I hold this against you: You have forsaken the love you had at first. Consider how far you have fallen! Repent and do the things you did at first. If you do not repent, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place. Jeremiah 29:13 “You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” 1 John 4:19 “we love him because he first loved us.” Luke 7:36-50 Hebrews 4:12-16 “For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account. Jesus the Great High Priest Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin. Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.” 1 Timothy 1:6 “For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God.” Jude 20-21 “But you, beloved, building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ that leads to eternal life,” Recommended Resources: Reframing Rejection: How Looking Through a Different Lens Changes Everything By Jessica Van Roekel Sacred Scars: Resting in God’s Promise That Your Past Is Not Wasted by Dr. Michelle Bengtson The Hem of His Garment: Reaching Out To God When Pain Overwhelms by Dr. Michelle Bengtson, winner AWSA 2024 Golden Scroll Christian Living Book of the Year and the 2024 Christian Literary Awards Reader’s Choice Award in the Christian Living and Non-Fiction categories YouVersion 5-Day Devotional Reaching Out To God When Pain Overwhelms Today is Going to be a Good Day: 90 Promises from God to Start Your Day Off Right by Dr. Michelle Bengtson, AWSA Member of the Year, winner of the AWSA 2023 Inspirational Gift Book of the Year Award, the 2024 Christian Literary Awards Reader’s Choice Award in the Devotional category, the 2023 Christian Literary Awards Reader’s Choice Award in four categories, and the Christian Literary Awards Henri Award for Devotionals YouVersion Devotional, Today is Going to be a Good Day version 1 YouVersion Devotional, Today is Going to be a Good Day version 2 Revive & Thrive Women’s Online Conference Revive & Thrive Summit 2 Trusting God through Cancer Summit 1 Trusting God through Cancer Summit 2 Breaking Anxiety’s Grip: How to Reclaim the Peace God Promises by Dr. Michelle Bengtson, winner of the AWSA 2020 Best Christian Living Book First Place, the first place winner for the Best Christian Living Book, the 2020 Carolina Christian Writer’s Conference Contest winner for nonfiction, and winner of the 2021 Christian Literary Award’s Reader’s Choice Award in all four categories for which it was nominated (Non-Fiction Victorious Living, Christian Living Day By Day, Inspirational Breaking Free and Testimonial Justified by Grace categories.) Greg clears up some confusion about limited atonement then answers questions about young people getting into the fantasy genre, Jewish beliefs about Satan, the phrase “In Jesus' name,” and why New Testament promises apply today if Old Testament promises don't.   Topics: Commentary: Clearing up some confusion about limited atonement (00:00) Do you have any concerns about young people getting into the fantasy genre today? (14:00) What do you think about attending or even participating in a wedding that contains elements from other religions? (26:00) Is it true that Jewish people don't believe the same things about Satan that Christians believe? (33:00) Can you elaborate on your view on when—or if—we should use the term “in Jesus' name“?(38:00) If we can't take promises in the Old Testament for ourselves, why wouldn't promises in the New Testament such as 1 Peter 5:7 also only apply to the Christians at that time?
