Sometimes discouragement arrives with a long list of justifications. And sometimes it settles in for no obvious reason at all, quietly smothering the smiles that should be there, draining the joy that ought to fuel the day. Either way, the result is the same: days wasted without the delight that God intends for His children, even while His blessings sit quietly uncounted all around us. The solution is simple and genuinely hard all at once: when we want to grow our joy, we need to grow our gratitude. Psalm 9:1 models exactly this — giving thanks to the Lord with a whole heart, recounting His wonderful deeds one by one. The enemy knows what happens when we lock our gaze on God's goodness. We give God more glory. We praise Him more freely. And our joy grows deeper and more resilient than any circumstance can touch. That is precisely why Satan works so persistently to keep us focused on disappointment, distraction, and darkness. Gratitude is an act of spiritual resistance. It is fighting back by fighting forward — turning our eyes to God's good promises, proclaiming His praise, and naming out loud every small, large, and beautiful blessing He has placed before us. Do it in the hard seasons especially. Write them down, whisper them in prayer, speak them alongside other believers in worship. Make it a habit, and watch what begins to grow. When joy feels distant, gratitude is almost always the fastest path back to it. Counting God's blessings is not a surface-level spiritual exercise — it is a soul-deep practice that genuinely shifts our perspective and our experience. The enemy works persistently to keep us camped on hardship. Satan knows that a heart fixed on God's goodness is a heart that praises freely and grows in joy. Choosing gratitude, especially in difficult seasons, is an act of spiritual resistance. Wholehearted thankfulness is what produces the fullness we long for. Psalm 9:1 does not call for polite acknowledgment — it calls for the whole heart. Halfhearted gratitude produces halfhearted joy. Give all of it to God and watch what happens. A Prayer for You Today Lord Jesus, I thank You with my whole heart for all the wonderful things You have given and done. On hard days and in long seasons of struggle, I find my mind camped on hardships and I lose sight of Your abundant blessings. But I know that is when I am depriving myself of the joy You long for me to have. When I fix my eyes and whole heart on You and Your goodness and thank You over and over for Your constant flow of blessings, joy grows and abounds in my life. Help me stay in a state of gratitude, because I certainly have so much to praise You for — every moment, every day, and always. Thank You, thank You, thank You, Lord. Amen. Sir Arthur Conan Doyle was not only the creator of Sherlock Holmes, but apparently he was a creative practical joker, too. The story is told of one horrendous - although clever - practical joke that he played one time. He just wrote a short, unsigned telegram - all in fun - to 12 of the best known men in England. The anonymous message was the same; only six words - six scary words, “All is discovered. Flee at once.” You want to guess what happened? As the story goes, within 24 hours not one of those men could be found. I'm Ron Hutchcraft and I want to have A Word With You today about “The Fugitive In the Mirror.” Interesting! These men were chased, ultimately not by what someone else knew they had done, but by what they knew they had done. It reminds me of the insightful words of Proverbs 28:1 in the Bible, “The wicked man flees though no one pursues.” You know, twice America has run a popular TV series, and then there was ultimately a blockbuster movie called “The Fugitive.” It's about a man on the run who can't shake his pursuer. In a sense, we're all “the fugitive.” Every one of us knows what it is to be chased emotionally and spiritually by what we've done in the past: the people we've hurt, the messes we've made, the wrong we've done. Maybe nobody else knows, but we know and we can't shake the guilt, the regrets, and that nagging fear of having to face God with it some day. And like the fugitive on the screen, we can get away from it for a while, but it eventually overtakes us again. Is there no way to erase the guilt of the past instead of being chased by the guilt of the past? Thank God, there is. It's described in our word for today from the Word of God in Zechariah 3:1. In a very real way, the man called “Joshua the high priest” is a picture of you and me. Here's what it says: He is “standing before the angel of the Lord (Who, by the way, many believe is actually Christ in the Old Testament.), and Satan standing at his right side to accuse him.” The devil, who will not let you forget what you have done, stands there telling God, “Hey, there's no way You can take this one, not when You know what he's really like.” Maybe you've felt that way too: too dirty for God to ever really love you - to ever let you into His heaven. The Bible describes this man as “dressed in filthy clothes.” But it goes on to say, “the angel said, ‘Take off his filthy clothes.' Then he said to Joshua (and I believe He wants to say this to you today), ‘See I have taken away your sin, and I will put rich garments on you.'” You'll never get anywhere with God as long as you're trying to stand before Him trying to look all religious and righteous. We're filthy, according to Him. That's what our sin makes us. But because Jesus loved you enough to take all the guilt and all the hell of your sins and pay for it on the cross, He can literally take away the guilt and take away all the penalty of all your sin. Can I tell you what today is about? It's about you finally being clean inside, totally forgiven, and totally free from every sin you have ever committed. But you have to respond to what Jesus has done for you by trusting Him to be your personal Savior from your personal sin. You do that when you say to Him, “Jesus, I believe what You did on the cross is my only hope. I've been running my life long enough. I want to be Yours from today on, and I'm grabbing You like a drowning person would grab their rescuer.” There's some wonderful information that will help you nail down once and for all to know you have got this settled at our website. This week we're continuing our series on Revelation and Resistance series with Revelation 13:1-18 and 17:1-6. We examine the grotesque images of the Beasts rising from land and sea as images of the Roman Empire, a misshapen, deceptive, and violent creature trapping people unknowingly in the worship of Satan. Then we turn our attention to Woman Babylon, the beautiful seductress whose goblet is filled with the blood of the saints. Having these images before us gives substance to our unknown fears, we think, making visible that which lurks at the edges of our consciousness. More than that, perhaps, these images invite us to unmask the beastliness and seduction of the Empire in our own day. How are we unwittingly seduced and coerced into the worship of violence?

Amen.1.     The sermon opens with the "how's it going" that isn't really a question — quick, shallow, going nowhere. Do you experience much of that shallow interaction in your day-to-day life?2.     Paul's list of greetings cuts across every social line Rome used to keep people in their place — status, class, ethnicity, gender. Where in your own life do you find it hardest to cross those kinds of lines (there are others in our culture)?3.     Paul tells Apelles he's "approved in Christ" — you've been through the fire and held on, and also, your approval was never in yourself to begin with. Which of those two do you need to hear more right now?4.     Sometimes the same quality that makes a church warm and welcoming is exactly what wolves exploit. How do you hold those two things together — staying genuinely open and also genuinely discerning?5.     If you are a Christian, what do you find to be your personal hurdles to engaging in free, full-hearted worship of God?6.     Quartus — "Number Four" — a nobody with a slave's name, whose name ends up in the most important letter ever written. Is there someone in your life right now who feels invisible or nameless to the people around them, and what would it look like for you to do what Paul did?

We see this week the two things that will bring about the enemy's ultimate defeat.​

That colossal all-seeing eye staring out from the FIFA World Cup Finals yesterday at the Meadowlands Stadium is the perfect emblem of the New World Order. Humanity gathered into one arena, surrounded by technology, united beneath a single unblinking gaze. The dark sphere at the center becomes the pupil, the exploding light forms the iris, and the surrounding skyscrapers point toward it like the spokes of an emerging global system. The New World Order to be precise. Also contained within that image is a a giant X behind the eye, a nod to the coming Antichrist, and the surrounding imagery suggestively reminsicient of a nuclear attack. At the very least, none of it had anything to do with a soccer match. The best part? It was watched by one/fifth of the entire world, just about 2 billion people.“And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird. It doesn't announce chains, tyranny and servitude; it promises unity, security, peace, protection and global cooperation. The all-seeing eye declares that nothing will remain private, independent or beyond the reach of the system. Artificial intelligence, facial recognition, biometric identification, digital currency and constant surveillance are constructing a technological imitation of omniscience—Satan's counterfeit attempt to see everything, record everything and ultimately control everyone. And I'm sure it's just a crazy coincidence, but this is exactly the world we live in right now. Because sports garner the attention of the entire world, the big sporting events are used to broadcast these predictive programming messages. At the 2015 Super Bowl Halftime Show, it was Katy Perry riding a Beast and promoting Black Magic. At the 2020 Halftime Show, we saw Jay-Z and Beyonce dancing in the middle of the All-Seeing Eye throwing Illuminati symbolism. At the 2019 Eurovision, the world watched singer Madonna dressed as the biblical Antichrist, mocking Jesus on the cross. Then, we had the scariest one of them all, at the opening ceremony for the 2012 London Olympics that turned out to be perfect predictive programming for the 2020 COVID Plannedemic. God calls men to be leaders and take charge in all areas of life but most importantly within their family. However, most men get the concept of leadership wrong, here's how God calls us to lead.

The parable of the weeds and the wheat is familiar to most. We have all heard it before. But some may wonder, since we typically do not live an agrarian life in the modern world, if the teaching of this parable is still relevant. As we look closer at the core truth Jesus conveys with this parable, we discover it is extremely relevant.

If you have God's Word… turn with me to 2 Corinthians 10:3-5. And this morning… we are gonna be talking about "Satan's Battleground". There's a battle… that's much more deadly. There's a battle… that is much more sinister. It's a battle…for…the mind. There's a deadly war… that's being waged against God by Satan! And folks… the battle ground… is YOUR mind…and YOUR soul!

On Sunday, July 19th 2026, Dylan Cottrill's message centers on a truth that transforms how we view our spiritual stumbles: we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. Drawing from 1 John 2:1-2, we're reminded that while we should strive not to sin, when we do fall, we're not abandoned to shame and guilt. This isn't a message about staying down—it's about the courage to rise again, knowing we have an advocate who understands our struggles and fights for our souls.

Satan Hates the Church—And He Hates You, Too (Revelation 12:13–17) - Dr. Bill Cook

In 1979, Bob Dylan released a song by this title which (through its lyrics) describes this human reality: You (and I) were created to serve and worship and "it can be the devil or it can be the Lord, but you've got to serve somebody." In this passage, we will see how Satan attempted to get Jesus to serve (and worship) him, by getting Jesus to serve himself. Selfishness is Satanism. We look at how the devil tricks us into breaking God's first command. Then we will respond by intentionally focusing our worship away from ourselves and instead upon the Father, through the Son, by the Holy Spirit.

Introduction: The Accusation of Unbelief The Wilderness Setting: Written by King David's chief musician Asaph, Psalm 78 serves as a historical reminder of Israel's behavioral cycles in the desert. Fresh out of Egyptian deliverance—having witnessed the ten plagues, the parting of the Red Sea, and being physically guided by pillars of cloud and fire—the people began to bitterly complain against God a mere three days into their journey. An Honest Question vs. An Accusation: In Psalm 78:19, the people ask, "Can God really prepare a table in the wilderness?" Pastor Rhonda noted that the word really transforms a seemingly innocent question into a toxic accusation dressed up as reason. It is the phrase used when a human heart has already decided the answer is "no," waiting around only to prove its own doubt correct. Covenant Over Anger: Despite their rebellion, God did not slam the door or cancel His covenant. Instead, He commanded the skies to open and rained down manna—the food of angels. God systematically spread a feast in front of the very people who were whispering against Him in their tents the night before. The Three Divine Tables Pastor Rhonda unpacked the three distinct tables God establishes throughout biblical history: 1. The Table for the Doubters (The Wilderness Table) The Purpose of the Table: The wilderness table is never a structural reward for individuals who possess perfect, unwavering faith. It is a table of pure grace, deliberately established right in the middle of your human doubting. The Goodness that Pulls: Relying on Romans 2:4, it is the unmerited goodness of God—not His anger—that gently leads broken, derailed, or disappointed individuals into true repentance. As highlighted in Psalm 78:38-39, He stays full of compassion, frequently holds back His anger, and remembers that human beings are fragile, temporary flesh. 2. The Table for the Enemies (The Battlefield Table) The Blinded Army at Dothan: In 2 Kings 6, the King of Syria surrounded the prophet Elisha at Dothan with a massive host of horses and iron chariots. When Elisha's servant panicked, shouting, "What shall we do?", Elisha uttered the historic reality: "Don't be afraid. Those who are with us are more than those with them." The Spiritual Sight Shift: Elisha did not pray for his servant's natural eyes, but for his spiritual eyes to be opened. Instantly, the young man saw the surrounding mountains packed with the fiery chariots of God's angelic hosts. A Feast Instead of a Sword: After praying for God to strike the Syrian army with blindness, Elisha boldly walked into their ranks and led them directly into the capital city of Samaria. When the King of Israel eagerly asked, "Shall I kill them?", Elisha commanded him to serve them a massive feast of comfort food and water instead. The Victory of Mercy: This exact battlefield feast provides the historical background for Psalm 23:5 ("Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies"). It was not the edge of a sword that permanently stopped the Syrian invasions—it was an overwhelming act of covenant mercy. Pastoral Application on Stiff-Arming: Pastor Rhonda paused the message to deliver a deep word on forgiveness and breaking internal chains (Psalm 44:21). True forgiveness does not excuse the offender; it releases the victim from an emotional prison. She shared a transparent personal testimony of a spiritual son and backup worship leader who left her ministry years prior. Though she smiled outwardly, she spent years "stiff-arming" him to protect her own heart from being hurt again. After her late husband confronted her behavior, she broke down at the altar, embraced the man, repented of her coldness, and unlocked a deep, ongoing fellowship that persists to this day. 3. The Ultimate Table (The Salvation Table) Crushing the Enemy's Head: The framework for the final table was established in Genesis 3, where God promised that the seed of the woman would eventually crush the head of the serpent. Because Satan acutely understands this legal decree, he target-attacks human families with desperation and fear. Spread While We Were Rebellious: Reading from Romans 5:6-8, Christ did not wait for humanity to surrender, perfect their theology, or clean up their lives. He set out the bread and wine of the ultimate table at Calvary while we were actively operating as His lifestyle enemies. The Table of Communion: At the Last Supper, Jesus willingly broke bread, dipped from the same cup, and washed the feet of Judas Iscariot—the very man orchestrating His betrayal. He fully established a table in the literal presence of His enemy. Conclusion: The Mandate of the Church Jesus Is Better: Moving into corporate communion, Pastor Rhonda echoed the foundational theme of the Book of Hebrews: Jesus is structurally better than legalism, religion, and all earthly material goods. He is the express image of the living God. Prophetic Prophecy Declared: During a prolonged moment of corporate worship, a prophetic word was delivered over the room: “I have not brought you this far to leave you, says the Lord. You are hidden in the hollow of My hands, and I am preparing you to move like an arrow shot from a bow at the right time. John 5, beginning at verse 2: "Now there is in Jerusalem by the sheep gate a pool which is called in Hebrew Bethesda, having five porches. In these lay a great multitude of sick people, blind, lame, paralyzed, waiting for the moving of the water." I think of the numbers of people who are exactly like this — sick, blind. You don't see a way forward. You don't have the strength to get up and move into what God has. You're paralyzed by fear, perhaps, and you're waiting for your divine moment. The moving of the water symbolizes a divine moment. It was the stirring of God, and whoever got up and got into the stirring of this water first was healed of whatever disease or circumstance they had. "For an angel went down at a certain time into the pool and stirred up the water, that whoever stepped in first after the stirring of the water was made well of whatever disease he had. Now a certain man was there who had an infirmity thirty-eight years." I want you to picture that. Can you imagine what this man felt like? Thirty-eight years lying there, unable to move, can't see a way forward. The only way forward is if he can make it into a divine moment in his life. He somehow knows that only God can make a difference. Thirty-eight years of hopelessness. "When Jesus saw him lying there, he knew that he had already been there in that condition a long time. And he said to him, 'Do you want to be made whole?'" "The sick man answered him, 'Sir, I have no man to put me in the pool when the water is stirred up. But while I'm coming, another steps down before me.'" In other words, maybe there were people there at one point saying, "Hey, we're going to do this together. We're going to get you through this. We're going to fight through this together." But after thirty-eight years, everybody gave up. There's nobody left. Nobody there to help him. All of the words of encouragement that would be spoken into this man's life are gone. There's just nobody there. It's only him. Don't you love it that when everybody's gone, Jesus Christ is still there? He is the one who sticks closer than a brother. He does not walk away from us in our struggle, in our time of difficulty. "Jesus said to him, 'Rise, take up your bed and walk.' And immediately the man was made well, took up his bed and walked. And that day was the Sabbath." Gary's Story — A Modern Miracle Several years ago, this prayer meeting used to be on a Tuesday night in New York City at Times Square Church. And requests were coming in from all over the world, but some were repetitive. There was this one that kept coming in from a place called Newfoundland in Canada, from a lady called Heather. She kept saying, "Pray for my husband Gary. My husband Gary is a drug addict. Everyone has given up on my husband Gary." As a matter of fact, in line with this passage, Gary had been a drug addict for 38 years. Gary had gone to every conceivable program known to humanity and nobody had been able to help him. He would always get out, maybe experience momentary victory, and then go back again into his old habits. He had a chair in the house and used to sit in that chair and do drugs — whatever kind, some of them were pretty hard drugs. Heather was watching this prayer meeting, this worldwide prayer meeting. And one night the Spirit of God came upon her and she went downstairs, got an axe, and chopped his chair to pieces in the living room. I told her she should write a pamphlet and call it the Book of Acts, according to Heather. She chopped Gary's chair to pieces in the living room and she said, "Satan, no more in this house. No more drugs in this house. No more debauchery in this house. No more captivity in this house — because I'm hearing something online. I'm hearing a message that I can be free. My marriage can be restored. My husband can be delivered." She kept giving those prayer requests week after week. Pray for my husband Gary and my son Liam, if I remember correctly. So one Tuesday night I got up and I saw that Heather had submitted another prayer request: pray for my husband Gary. And at that moment, the Holy Spirit came upon me. Now you and I need to learn this — especially the students here in this Bible school. We need to learn to cooperate with the Holy Spirit because we live a supernatural life. The Spirit of God is within us. And if we learn to cooperate with God, when God is moving and God is speaking, miracles start happening. I looked into the screen that night and I pointed my finger at the screen. I said, "Gary, listen to me. You are not a drug addict. God has called you to be an evangelist. You are an evangelist. You're not a drug addict." He'd been 38 years on drugs...

You might be most familiar with these two sisters for their opposite personalities—Martha, being type A and consumed by what needs to get done, and Mary being the one who applauded for resting and sitting at Jesus' feet. All throughout the gospel accounts, these sisters and their brother, Lazarus, offered hospitality to Jesus and became some of his dearest friends. But in John 11, word comes to Jesus that Lazarus is sick, actually very sick. The sisters contacted Jesus out of faith. They knew Jesus was able to heal the sick—they had seen his miracles, and they put their faith in him and called on him to come heal their brother. Jesus' response is quite confusing though. Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus. Yet when he heard that Lazarus was sick, he stayed where he was two more days (John 11:5-6). If someone you love is extremely sick, and you have the ability to help, wouldn't you get up and rush to their side? Isn't that what love does? The Bible reassures us of Jesus' love for each of them, and yet, he deliberately chose to stay. And he waited. And Lazarus died. When Jesus finally came to Bethany, Lazarus had been dead four days. As we think through lament, I want you to put yourself in Mary and Martha's shoes for a minute. They were trusting Jesus to heal their brother. They implored him to come. They waited and waited. Perhaps they took a break from tending Lazarus' sick bed to go outside and see if Jesus was coming around the corner. But he wasn't. And these two sisters watched their beloved brother die, wrapped his body, and placed him in a tomb. Imagine what Mary and Martha were feeling. Perhaps you know the intense pain of losing a loved one. This year I suddenly lost a family member that seemed perfectly healthy. The shock was jarring and painful. The death of a loved one is absolutely a reason to lament. And yet, as terrible as losing Lazarus was, I think there was an even greater lament for Mary and Martha. They both spoke to Jesus when he arrived separately and the first thing they said was, “Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died.” Do you hear the pain of confusion? Do you hear the notes of disappointment and feelings of betrayal? I think the deeper lament is that these women put their faith and hope in Jesus and were left disappointed. That is not something good Christians like to talk about, but I have experienced those moments. Have you? Have you prayed earnestly in faith and received an entirely different outcome than you expected? Have you committed yourself to teaching your children faithfully only to watch them fall away? Have you tried to live obediently to the Lord and yet you look at your life, and it is not what you imagined it would be like at all? Do you feel like Jesus has let you down? If you feel that way, know you are not alone. Life can be confusing and disorienting. And when it doesn't make sense and you are hurting, come to Jesus. That is what Mary and Martha did, and it was the first step in their healing. They both shared their feeling of bewilderment and even possibly betrayal that Jesus waited to come, chose not to heal Lazarus, and let him die. Satan wants you to hold that hurt and confusion and let it fester into resentment, bitterness, and unbelief. But when you come to Jesus and honestly pour out your heart, however messy or honest it is, that is when Jesus meets us in the lament. And he met Martha and Mary in two very different ways that show his character. First with Martha, Jesus comforts her with the truth of his character. Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die” (John 11:25). This was one of Jesus' I am statements, and he chose to reveal himself as the resurrection and the life first to Martha in this moment of deep grief. But he doesn't stop there. Jesus follows this truth with a question. He asks her, Do you believe this? (John 11:26). Friend, in your pain, immersing yourself in the attributes of the Savior is extremely helpful. Jesus is loving. He is your shepherd. He sees and hears your misery. He is powerful to save and works all things for the good of those who love him. But it is not enough just to read these statements. In your pain, Jesus comes to you and asks, “Do you believe this?” Martha could not have possibly understood all that encompassed the truth of Jesus being the resurrection and life. And Jesus didn't expect her to. But with what faith she had in that moment, she responded, Yes, Lord. I believe that you are the Christ, the Son of God, who was to come into the world (John 11:27). When everything in life is chaos and you can't make sense of your pain, hold on to what you do know about Jesus. Asking why is rarely helpful, but choosing to sit in who you know and have already experienced Jesus to be will comfort your soul. Interestingly, Jesus responds very differently to Mary. She comes to him with the exact same words as Martha, Lord…if you had been here, my brother would not have died (John 11:21). Instead of revealing truth to her, Jesus weeps with her. Friend, you have a savior who is moved by suffering and weeps. I don't know about you, but that is so comforting to me! Jesus might have been moved by seeing Mary in such pain or by his own grief or by his hatred of death as an enemy or all of it. Either way, he wept. And Jesus wept even though he knew the end of the story. He waited to let Lazarus die to reveal himself not only as healer but as the one who can resurrect. He knew Lazarus' time in the grave was almost over, but he still wept. Jesus sees your whole story and knows it will turn out for your deliverance, and yet amid your suffering, he comes along side you tenderly. He doesn't rebuke you for a lack of stoic faith or say, buck up. No, he is the almighty savior who understands our weakness and meets us with compassion. That means the world to me. Mary and Martha did receive their brother back, but in the moments of lament, they didn't know the ending. In their lament they were called to believe the truth about Jesus and experience his tender care. And you and I are called to do the same. No matter what the root of our lament is, the Lord invites us to pour out our souls to him, to believe he sees and hears, and to receive his tender care. Because of Jesus' death and resurrection, all who trust in him are promised a gloriously happy ending. But in the meantime, life is hard. May we be women who cling to truth and to the loving care of Jesus himself. Let's pray now to that end. Heavenly Father, you know the burdens and hardships each person reading right now is facing, and none of it is too heavy for you to bear. I pray you would comfort each hurting heart with your tender care. Would you remind each soul of who you truly are—that you are good, that you are working all things to make those who love you more and more into the image of your Son, that you will one day make all wrongs right, that nothing can separate those in Christ from your love. Give us greater faith to believe those truths more and more each day. I entrust each of my fellow lamenting sisters to your perfect care. In Jesus' precious name we pray. Amen.

It's good for a man to have a wife, and for a woman to have a husband. Sexual drives are strong, but marriage is strong enough to contain them and provide for a balanced and fulfilling sexual life in a world of sexual disorder. The marriage bed must be a place of mutuality—the husband seeking to satisfy his wife, the wife seeking to satisfy her husband. Marriage is not a place to "stand up for your rights." Marriage is a decision to serve the other, whether in bed or out. Abstaining from sex is permissible for a period of time if you both agree to it, and if it's for the purposes of prayer and fasting—but only for such times. Then come back together again. Satan has an ingenious way of tempting us when we least expect it. I'm not, understand, commanding these periods of abstinence—only providing my best counsel if you should choose them.
