MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN BY BRINGING BACK THE CHRISTIAN DOCTRINE OF EARLY AMERICA: GEORGE WHITEFIELD

This message is entitled: The Continued Reading of Pilgrim's Progress, Part 1, which includes. Section 1, entitled Cristian's Deplorable Condition, and Section 2 entitled Evangelist Directs Christian.
The book, Pilgrim's Progress is an allegory on Salvation, written by John Bunyan, who was a Bondage of the Will preacher, in prison in England for preaching the gospel, and while he was in prison, he wrote Pilgrim's Progress, published in 1678, and still in print today, has been one of the most read Christian books in the world. Pilgrim's Progress is an allegory on salvation, and is the most accurate portrayal of salvation in an allegorical format ever written.
This book is worth reading over and over again, for what does Satan do, but he counterfeits salvation. If we think of the Bible as a wagon wheel with 66 spokes representing the 66 books of the Bible, and the hub of the will representing salvation, Satan counterfeits the hub of the wheel, and that is all he has to do to corrupt the 66 spokes, and that is how he destroys the true church.
He never lets his foot off the accelerator, and thus the bondage of the will church must press its foot harder on the accelerator to continue to further define salvation more accurately in order to keep ahead of Satan's counterfeiting. John Bunyan in Pilgrim's Progress will put us way ahead of the curve in detecting how Satan counterfeits the scriptures, and thus every American should have a copy of Pilgm's Progress and read it over and over, not to replace our meditation on the Word of God, but to be a supplement. Pilgrim's progress is an allegory, and in this allegory, practically every paragraph, and sometimes every sentence, there is a hidden scripture that goes with it. And those of us that have read our Bibles day and night over years, every time we read Pilgrim's Progress, we will see the hidden meaning behind what John Bunyan is saying, because we will see the scriptures that he is referring to, for we know our scriptures.
Thus in the following messages, a commentary will be given showing the Scriptures underlying the hidden meaning that we might understand the meaning of the allegorical sentences and paragraphs. Those of you that continue to listen throughout these several messages, you will be way ahead of the curve in detecting how Satan counterfeits so that you might avoid those false churches and ignorantly embrace their false doctrine. Those churches that have a false hub of the wheel, a false definition of salvation, a counterfeited salvation, what happens but the 66 spokes are tainted, that is the 66 books of the Bible are tainted, and thus without an accurate definition of salvation, we will be sucked into churches that have a false doctrine. And if we follow that false doctrine and end up in hell, what good did those churches do for us.
they did us no good at all. So Satan is not stupid. He will always counterfeit salvation first and if he has accomplished that in a nation, if his false doctrine becomes dominant, he can pull his lever on the lazy boy, for the nation is going to go astray. , Like the moon being a reflection of the sun, so the morality of the nation is just a reflection of the doctrine of the church. Thus a dominant false doctrine will make America immoral.
If you are a brand new creation, you're going to just love this book because when he begins to describe in an allegorical format, conversion, it will match your own conversion you've been truly converted. And hardly anywhere else can you find such an accurate description of what it's like to become a new creation. It is just wonderful, and it will give you great confirmation of your own conversion.
And you will quickly learn how to detect others who have been falsely converted, because John Bunion does a great job of showinging us what a false conversion looks like juxtaposed to a true conversion.

There's a reason the enemy targets families—because family is where faith is formed, identity is shaped, and legacy is born. If the enemy can disrupt your home, he'll do everything he can to distract, divide, and destroy. But you, my friend, have a spiritual post to stand on. You are the watchman on the wall. Our springboard for today's discussion is:“Do not be afraid of them. Remember the Lord, who is great and awesome, and fight for your brothers, your sons, your daughters, your wives, and your homes.” — Nehemiah 4:14 (ESV)Nehemiah was building a physical wall—but make no mistake, the spiritual principle applies. The call is clear: fight for your family. This isn't about being aggressive in the flesh—it's about being intentional in the Spirit. Guarding your family means praying over your children's hearts. It means rebuking fear, anxiety, and confusion at the front door before it seeps into your living room. It means leading your household with Scripture, with worship, and with wisdom.Satan loves a distracted leader. A passive protector. A silent spiritual authority. But you weren't placed in your home to watch it unravel—you were placed to war for it.Guarding your family spiritually means setting the tone in your home. What gets your attention gets access. So, what music plays? What voices are shaping your kids? What attitudes are being tolerated in the atmosphere? You don't have to live in fear—but you do have to live on alert. Pray over your spouse. Anoint your kids' pillows. Speak life out loud in the kitchen. Create an environment where the enemy feels unwelcome and heaven feels close.Your prayers may be silent, but they're shaking things in the spirit realm.Question of the Day:Where have you let your spiritual guard down in your home—and how can you reclaim that ground today?Mini Call to Action:Walk through your home today, room by room. Pray over it aloud. Declare peace, purity, and protection in every space.Let's Pray:Father, make me a spiritual warrior for my family. Open my eyes to attacks I've missed. Teach me to cover my home in prayer, love, and truth. Let our household be a fortress of Your presence. In Jesus' name, amen.Let's Get To Work!Your family isn't just your blessing—it's your battlefield. And you've been called to guard it.My Reasons To Believe is a reader-supported publication. Reformed Brotherhood | Sound Doctrine, Systematic Theology, and Brotherly Love

In this episode of the Reformed Brotherhood, Jesse and Tony delve into the topic of demons and spiritual warfare, exploring what the Bible teaches about these spiritual entities and their activity in the world. The conversation begins with an examination of Job 1, where Satan appears in the heavenly court to accuse Job, demonstrating how God's sovereignty encompasses even the actions of the devil and his demons. The discussion emphasizes that while demons are real and dangerous, they operate under the ultimate authority of God, who uses even their actions to fulfill His purposes. The hosts also discuss the role of Christ's death and resurrection in fundamentally altering the influence and power of Satan and his demons. Drawing from Revelation 20, they explain how Christ's victory has “bound” Satan, limiting his ability to deceive the nations and opening the way for the Gospel to spread to all people. This pivotal event in redemptive history marks a shift in the spiritual realm, giving Christians the confidence to stand firm against spiritual opposition, knowing that the ultimate victory has already been won in Christ. Additionally, Jesse and Tony reflect on various Biblical accounts of demonic activity, such as the demoniac at Gennesaret and the failed exorcism by the seven sons of Sceva in Acts 19. These stories highlight the power of Jesus' name, the reality of spiritual warfare, and the dangers of invoking Christ's authority without true faith. The episode concludes with a call to Christians to prepare for spiritual battles through Scripture, prayer, and reliance on the power of Christ. Key Points: The Sovereignty of God Over Demons: The story of Job reveals that even Satan's actions are under God's control, serving His divine purposes. The Binding of Satan: Revelation 20 teaches that Christ's death and resurrection have limited Satan's ability to deceive the nations, enabling the spread of the Gospel. Biblical Accounts of Demonic Activity: Stories like the demoniac at Gennesaret and the seven sons of Sceva illustrate the power and authority of Christ over demons. Practical Lessons for Christians: Believers are called to stand firm in faith, armed with Scripture, and confident in Christ's ultimate victory over evil forces. Questions for Reflection: How does Job 1 demonstrate God's sovereignty over Satan and his actions? What does Revelation 20 teach us about the impact of Christ's resurrection on Satan's power? Why is it important for Christians to rely on true faith and not superficial invocations of Jesus' name in spiritual battles? How can Biblical accounts of demonic activity help us better understand the nature of spiritual warfare today? What practical steps can Christians take to prepare for spiritual opposition?

That is where you can find freedom in your life.Eyes On The Right started when Amy first delved into conspiracy theories and made her first Instagram account. At that time, Amy had very conservative views politically. Now, she focuses on being biblically based and praying for the country's leaders. The "Right" part of the name is based on the Bible's symbolism of the right side.[08:38] How God Shifted Amy Back on the Right PathAmy grew up in a Christian home with a good family. However, during high school, she started down a path of rebellion away from God's plan for her.Through God's grace, she graduated, got a job, and began her career in teaching and ministry. However, Amy couldn't truly see the God-given blessings in her life and wasn't truly happy. She used alcohol to cope with the problems she faced. One day at the beach, she heard God's voice tell her to get up and go. Despite wanting to give up, Amy kept going until she got sober and let God renew her.Amy felt broken and hated her life. She thinks God pushed her back into the path He planned for her.[18:58] A Message For The StrugglingThe Enemy wants you alone, isolated, and struggling. However, that time will end, and you'll be able to move toward the life meant for you.[19:44] Amy: “But there comes a time when that ends and you need to get up and you need to start moving because you've got a life to live and God has a purpose for you. And those emotions and those feelings will catch up when you're obedient. God will get you there.”All you have to do is obey God and do what you can. Don't worry about the past or the future. Focus on today and keep your eyes on Him.God didn't create you to be a quitter. Don't give up.[21:25] How Amy Started Eyes On The RightEyes On The Right started when Amy's daughter encouraged her to create an Instagram page while getting sober. She started seeking “conspiracy theories,” patterns and truths hidden in the Bible. The first one she dived into was about biblical cosmology and the creation of Earth. As Amy dove deeper, she realized that there are many things in the world that Satan and his people use to manipulate others.Once you know this truth, you can see through these tricks and avoid falling for it. Amy chose to spread awareness about the Enemy's tricks to help others.[27:12] Reagan: “That's what the Enemy wants to do, steal, kill, and destroy our lives. And when we're aware of it, we can get our armor on and we can be protected from it as a fusion success.” [27:27] The Enemy In the Modern WorldYou need to be discerning and in a space where you can delve deeper into this truth. There has to be an internal conviction in Christ that can anchor us.There are secret societies like the Freemasons, the Templars, and more all over the world throughout biblical history. In today's world, many people in Hollywood continue to perpetuate the occult symbolism of secret societies. It was a way of mind control and idol worship for the public.Occult symbolism encourages the disobedience of God's word. It's visible in movies, concerts, and all over Hollywood and the nation.[32:09] Closing the Door On the EnemyThere are a lot of things happening that you can find on the internet, such as UFO sightings and secret projects. It's critical to be discerning about what's real and what isn't.One of these was the MK Ultra project, which focused on mind-controlling humans. These experiments were conducted on many people, including kids, prisoners, and more.At some level, everyone has been programmed and mind-controlled, which creates a door for the Enemy to come in and destroy our lives.[36:42] Amy: "Our society, and I'm sure many people listening can agree, has shifted dramatically. We are no longer discerning. We no longer are girded up and wise and, and sober-minded. We are the opposite of that."Many celebrities follow a pattern of starting as innocent and wholesome, then shifting slowly into occult symbolism.People who look up to them aren't aware of the shift and won't see the impact.[39:58] Choosing To Live Life From GodThe Enemy is holding you back from living the life God meant for you.We want to live a life that honors God and builds our relationship with Him. To do so, you must consistently do the work rather than only do what's convenient for you.Kids are more susceptible to occult symbolism. As the parent, it's up to you to be discerning and be aware to help protect them. Now that you know, do better.[44:08] The Scriptures as a FootholdAmy clings to the Scriptures as she lives her life. Many people may find them boring and difficult to read, but keeping an open mind is essential. She has recently finished reading Joshua and is currently studying Galatians.Verses from the Bible, especially Psalms and Proverbs, replenish Amy.[48:08] Amy's Plan Moving ForwardAmy feels like it's time to grow and nourish something new.Her focus is a niche. At the start, many people judged her work and the new information it brought forward. Amy simply stays patient. She wants to step away from symbolism and tie it back to God and the truth in His Word.About AmyAmy is an educator, counselor, speaker, and Bible teacher who helps others deepen their understanding of the Scripture. Jesushas been praying with His disciples in the Garden of Gethsemane when Judasshows up with a “multitude” of the temple guards to arrest Jesus. To get thefull picture of this event, I highly recommend that you read all four Gospelaccounts. John tells us that Jesus “went forth” to meet Judas and those withhim and asked, “Whom are you seeking?” They answered, “Jesus of Nazareth” andJesus said, “I am He”. At those words, God released the radiance of His glory, and it literally knocked Judas and all the mob to the ground (John 18:1-12).  Matthewtells us that this is when Judas gets up and greets Jesus saying, “Hail Master”and then kisses Jesus. Jesus calls him “Friend” and the officers came and “laidhands on Jesus and took Him” (Matthew 26:47-56).Itwas then that the disciples remembered (and misunderstood) His words about thesword (Luke 22:35-38), so they asked Him if now was the time to make use oftheir two swords. Without waiting for the answer, Peter rushed ahead andattacked a man who turned out to be Malchus, a servant to the high priest (John18:10, 26-27). Whydid Peter do this? For one thing, he had to back up the boastful words he hadspoken in the Upper Room (Luke 22:33) and again on the way to the Garden (Matt.26:30-35). Someone rightly said, “Peter had been sleeping when he should havebeen praying, talking when he should have been listening, and boasting when heshould have been fearing. Now he was fighting when he should have beensurrendering!” Petermade a number of serious mistakes when he attacked Malchus with his sword. Tobegin with, Peter was fighting the wrong enemy with the wrong weapon. We mustalways remember that our enemies are not flesh and blood, and they cannot bedefeated with ordinary weapons (2 Cor. 10:3-6; Eph. 6:10-18). In His wildernesstemptations, Jesus defeated Satan with the Word of God (Matt. 4:1-11), and thatis the weapon we must use (Eph. 6:17; Heb. 4:12). Peteralso revealed the wrong attitude and trusted the wrong energy. While Jesus wassurrendering, Peter was busy declaring war! This reveals that he was dependingon "the arm of flesh." His whole approach to the situation was not atall Christlike (John 18:36) and stands as a good warning to us today. The lostworld may act this way, but it is not the way God's servants should act (Matthew12:19; 2 Timothy 2:24). Jesus had taught His disciples and us that: “love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you,and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, that you may besons of your Father in heaven…” (Matthew 5:38-45). Itis just like Jesus to act in grace when others are acting in malice (Psalms103:10). He showed grace to Peter by rebuking his presumptuous sin andrepairing the damage he had done. He showed grace to Malchus, a lowly slave, byhealing his ear, and He showed grace to the whole world by willingly yieldingHimself to the mob and going to Calvary. He did not come to judge but to save(Luke 19:10).  John 3:16-17 reminds us: “For God did notsend His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world throughHim might be saved.” OurLord's last miracle before the cross was not a big flashy thing that attractedattention. It is likely that very few of the men who were there that night evenknew what Peter and Jesus had done. Jesus could have summoned twelve legions ofangels (Matthew 26:53), one legion (6,000 soldiers) for each of the elevendisciples and one for Himself, but He did not. Instead of performing somespectacular feat, He lovingly healed the ear of an obscure slave and thenpresented His hands to be bound. Eachof us must decide whether we will go through life pretending, like Judas; orfighting, like Peter; or yielding to God's perfect will, like Jesus. Today, willit be the kiss of betrayal, the sword of the flesh, or the cup of surrender tothe will of God?Godbless!

This past Sunday, Adam Acosta's talk was a powerful and deeply personal exploration of hunger—the kind that shapes identity, misleads us with counterfeits, and ultimately determines the direction of our lives. The speaker shared a pivotal moment where God spoke: “You can hunger to be known by Me, or to be known by man. But you can't have both.” “Where I want to take you, you must die.”From there, we looked at three key biblical moments:The Giant (David) — David didn't hunger for victory—he hungered for the wilderness where he met God. His confidence wasn't in defeating Goliath but in who he already was in the secret place. The Apple (Eve) — In the garden, Eve was deceived into hungering for something she already had. Satan's tactic is the same today: use doubt to distort obedience and dismantle identity. The Stone (Jesus) — In the wilderness, Jesus chose not to turn the stone into bread, showing us that sustained hunger can form us more deeply than satisfied hunger ever could.Identity is built on what you hunger for. What we feed is what stays alive. There are places God wants to take you—but some of those places require something in you to die first. What are you hungering for? Is it drawing you closer to the presence of God—or deeper into striving, comparison, or counterfeit comfort? This message is a call back to the wilderness, to the place where real identity is forged. Don't chase the giant. Don't eat the apple. Don't turn the stone. Hunger for Him. That's where the promise begins. For more info, you can go to our website, check us out on Instagram, Facebook, or YouTube. Counterfeit Kingdom: Decoding the Symbols of Saturn and Divine Designs In this thought-provoking episode of Right On Radio, host Jeff invites listeners on a journey to explore the dimensions of spiritual and worldly realms through captivating discussions and insightful videos. Jeff tackles the profound question of how far heaven truly is, introducing listeners to two intriguing videos that promise to reveal hidden truths. The first segment delves deep into the occult symbolism surrounding Saturn, a planet often associated with various esoteric beliefs. From the black cube of Saturn and the six-pointed stars to the eerie parallels between the Saturnian rituals and modern corporate logos, the episode sheds light on how ancient connections play a significant role in today's world. The video further examines the planet's ties to the biblical Satan and its imagery related to control and negativity. Transitioning into the spiritual realm, the episode shifts focus to the celestial vision of New Jerusalem as described in the Bible. Jeff dissects the scriptures to elucidate how the dimensions of New Jerusalem might suggest a divine connection between heaven and earth, disrupting the counterfeit narratives perpetuated throughout history. Speculations on the firmament, heaven's tangible proximity, and Jesus as the ultimate bridge between the realms leave listeners contemplating their spiritual beliefs and the world's hidden truths. This episode challenges listeners to reflect on the counterfeiting of spiritual truths by worldly powers and encourages active engagement in recognizing the divine designs in life's complexities. Luke 22:47-48 - Betrayed With a Kiss

Welcometo Pastor's Chat. Today we continue to look at Luke chapter 22. At this point,we're with Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane. He's been praying with three ofHis disciples—Peter, James, and John. They've been sleeping while He's beenpraying. Interestingly, one version says that Jesus said, “Then cometh he to his disciples, andsaith unto them, Sleep on now, and take your rest: behold, the hour is at hand, and the Son of man is betrayed into the hands of sinners. Rise, let us begoing: behold, he is at hand that doth betray me.” (Matthew 26:45-46, KJV). I always wondered why Jesus would say,"Sleep on now, rise, let us be going." One of my devotionals pointedout that Jesus is saying, "Okay, wake up. Let it rest. You've beensleeping when you should have been praying. You can't reverse that. You shouldhave been seeking the face of God, watching for the temptation that was goingto come. Now it's too late to do that, so leave it behind you. Rise up, let'sbe going."  Wehave many failures in our lives. We need to let them sleep on, forgetting thethings which are behind and reaching for those things which are before. WhileHe was still speaking to the disciples and encouraging them to get up, Luketells us, "Behold, a multitude, and he who was called Judas, one of thetwelve, went before them and drew near to Jesus to kiss Him." But Jesussaid to him, "Judas, are you betraying the Son of Man with a kiss?"  I'veentitled this devotional "Betrayed with a Kiss." It makes me thinkabout the fact that here is Judas, one of the twelve disciples. Psalms 41:9,tells us that the Psalmist is referring to Jesus when He says, "My ownfamiliar friend who ate bread with Me has lifted up his heel against Me."So here is Jesus, a friend of Judas. In fact, one of the Gospels tells us thatHe actually called him friend when he came to betray Him (Matthew 26:57). Jesushas given Judas every opportunity to repent. Yet Judas, with a deceitful heart, with a hypocritical kiss—a sign of affection, love, and respect, which was howa student would greet their rabbi to show honor—comes and betrays Him.  TheGospel of Matthew tells us that Judas had told the group of soldiers and thechief priest, that he would give them a sign saying, “Whomsoever I shall kiss, the same is he, hold him fast" (Matthew 26:48).  He planned on betraying Jesus with a kiss. Howhypocritical is that? He would look like the friend and disciple of Jesus. "Faithfulare the wounds of a friend, but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful"(Proverbs 27:6). Jesussays, "Are you going to betray Me with a kiss?" Don't youthink the Lord says that to you and me today in many ways? We go to church, sing the songs, lift up our hands, praise the Lord, worship with otherbelievers, and maybe even go to the altar and pray. But then we leave thechurch and live for self, the world, or the devil. We are betraying the Lordwith a kiss.  WhenJudas went and asked the chief priest, "How can I betray Jesus?" theyoffered thirty pieces of silver. It was as if he sold his soul to the devil. Weknow that at the supper with Jesus, Satan entered into him. He sold his soul tothe devil. When we make a choice to exchange Jesus for the world, you becomeservants to whom you yield yourselves to obey (Romans 6:16). Jesus on anearlier occasion had said, “This people draw nigh to me with their mouths, and honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me” (Matthew15:8).  So,my friend, we don't want to be in the position of a Judas. Make sure that ourkiss for Jesus is truly genuine from our hearts, honoring Him. Let's cling toJesus, just as Ruth did to Naomi. Orpah kissed her and went the other way, backto her gods in Moab, but Ruth clung to Naomi (Ruth 1:14-18). May we cling toJesus today and show Him our love with our life every moment of every day.  Isyour heart close to Jesus today or is it far away?Godbless!

Jesus sends 70 disciples ahead of him saying, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore ask the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.” We ask Dr. Chris Croghan, “Why are the laborers few?” He shows us what's necessary to have a harvest in the first place: seeds that were planted earlier, and teaches us how the Holy Spirit is both doing the planting of Jesus' word and the harvesting of faith. He reveals it's not our work to cause our church's flourishing. We conclude with the incredible statement that we shouldn't rejoice by being given an authority to tread on snakes and scorpions and the power of the enemy, but we should rejoice because our names are written in heaven. CARE OF SOULS - ADDICTION In Care of Souls, a special mini-series podcast from Luther House of Study, Lutheran pastors and theologians come together to explore the deeply personal and pastoral task of preaching to and caring for those struggling with life's challenging situations: addiction, death, family disharmony, and more. Rooted in the theology of the cross and the Lutheran tradition of radical grace, this series offers both theological depth and practical guidance for pastors, church workers, and lay leaders. With conversations, real-life stories, and reflections from the front lines of ministry, Care of Souls equips listeners to enter the broken places of addiction not with easy answers, but with the crucified and risen Christ. Because in the end, it's not about fixing people—it's about preaching the Gospel. Listen to Care of Souls wherever you listen to podcasts or on the Luther House website: Care of Souls - Addiction GOSPEL Luke 10:1-11,16-201 After this the Lord appointed seventy others and sent them on ahead of him in pairs to every town and place where he himself intended to go. 2 He said to them, "The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore ask the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest. 3 Go on your way. See, I am sending you out like lambs into the midst of wolves. 4 Carry no purse, no bag, no sandals; and greet no one on the road. 5 Whatever house you enter, first say, 'Peace to this house!' 6 And if anyone is there who shares in peace, your peace will rest on that person; but if not, it will return to you. 7 Remain in the same house, eating and drinking whatever they provide, for the laborer deserves to be paid. Do not move about from house to house. 8 Whenever you enter a town and its people welcome you, eat what is set before you; 9 cure the sick who are there, and say to them, 'The kingdom of God has come near to you.' 10 But whenever you enter a town and they do not welcome you, go out into its streets and say, 11 'Even the dust of your town that clings to our feet, we wipe off in protest against you. Yet know this: the kingdom of God has come near.' 16 "Whoever listens to you listens to me, and whoever rejects you rejects me, and whoever rejects me rejects the one who sent me."17 The seventy returned with joy, saying, "Lord, in your name even the demons submit to us!" 18 He said to them, "I watched Satan fall from heaven like a flash of lightning. 19 See, I have given you authority to tread on snakes and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy; and nothing will hurt you. 20 Nevertheless, do not rejoice at this, that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven."Support the showInterested in sponsoring an episode of Scripture First?Email Sarah at sarah@lhos.org or visit our donation page: lutherhouseofstudy.org/donate

Flowing with God or Fighting against God?   Scale of 1-10 If flowing with God is a 10—and fighting against God is a 1—where are you on that scale? Acts 4:36-37 Joseph, a Levite from Cyprus, whom the apostles called Barnabas (which means “son of encouragement”), 37 sold a field he owned and brought the money and put it at the apostles' feet. Acts 5 Now a man named Ananias, together with his wife Sapphira, also sold a piece of property.  2 With his wife's full knowledge he kept back part of the money for himself, but brought the rest and put it at the apostles' feet. 3 Then Peter said, “Ananias, how is it that Satan has so filled your heart that you have lied to the Holy Spirit and have kept for yourself some of the money you received for the land?  4 Didn't it belong to you before it was sold? And after it was sold, wasn't the money at your disposal? What made you think of doing such a thing? You have not lied just to human beings but to God.” 5 When Ananias heard this, he fell down and died. And great fear seized all who heard what had happened.  6 Then some young men came forward, wrapped up his body, and carried him out and buried him. 7 About three hours later his wife came in, not knowing what had happened.  8 Peter asked her, “Tell me, is this the price you and Ananias got for the land?” “Yes,” she said, “that is the price.” 9 Peter said to her, “How could you conspire to test the Spirit of the Lord? Listen! The feet of the men who buried your husband are at the door, and they will carry you out also.” 10 At that moment she fell down at his feet and died. Then the young men came in and, finding her dead, carried her out and buried her beside her husband.  11 Great fear seized the whole church and all who heard about these events.   Beware of hypocrisy.   12 The apostles performed many signs and wonders among the people. And all the believers used to meet together in Solomon's Colonnade.  13 No one else dared join them, even though they were highly regarded by the people.  14 Nevertheless, more and more men and women believed in the Lord and were added to their number.  15 As a result, people brought the sick into the streets and laid them on beds and mats so that at least Peter's shadow might fall on some of them as he passed by.  16 Crowds gathered also from the towns around Jerusalem, bringing their sick and those tormented by impure spirits, and all of them were healed.   17 Then the high priest and all his associates, who were members of the party of the Sadducees, were filled with jealousy.  18 They arrested the apostles and put them in the public jail.    Beware of jealousy.   19 But during the night an angel of the Lord opened the doors of the jail and brought them out.  20 “Go, stand in the temple courts,” he said, “and tell the people all about this new life.” 21 At daybreak they entered the temple courts, as they had been told, and began to teach the people. When the high priest and his associates arrived, they called together the Sanhedrin—the full assembly of the elders of Israel—and sent to the jail for the apostles.  22 But on arriving at the jail, the officers did not find them there. So they went back and reported, 23 “We found the jail securely locked, with the guards standing at the doors; but when we opened them, we found no one inside.”  24 On hearing this report, the captain of the temple guard and the chief priests were at a loss, wondering what this might lead to. 25 Then someone came and said, “Look! The men you put in jail are standing in the temple courts teaching the people.”  26 At that, the captain went with his officers and brought the apostles. They did not use force, because they feared that the people would stone them. 27 The apostles were brought in and made to appear before the Sanhedrin to be questioned by the high priest.  28 “We gave you strict orders not to teach in this name,” he said. “Yet you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching and are determined to make us guilty of this man's blood.” 29 Peter and the other apostles replied: “We must obey God rather than human beings!  30 The God of our ancestors raised Jesus from the dead—whom you killed by hanging him on a cross.  31 God exalted him to his own right hand as Prince and Savior that he might bring Israel to repentance and forgive their sins.  32 We are witnesses of these things, and so is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey him.” 33 When they heard this, they were furious and wanted to put them to death.  34 But a Pharisee named Gamaliel, a teacher of the law, who was honored by all the people, stood up in the Sanhedrin and ordered that the men be put outside for a little while.  35 Then he addressed the Sanhedrin: “Men of Israel, consider carefully what you intend to do to these men.  36 Some time ago Theudas appeared, claiming to be somebody, and about four hundred men rallied to him. He was killed, all his followers were dispersed, and it all came to nothing.  37 After him, Judas the Galilean appeared in the days of the census and led a band of people in revolt. He too was killed, and all his followers were scattered.  38 Therefore, in the present case I advise you: Leave these men alone! Let them go! For if their purpose or activity is of human origin, it will fail.  39 But if it is from God, you will not be able to stop these men; you will only find yourselves fighting against God.” 40 His speech persuaded them. They called the apostles in and had them flogged. Then they ordered them not to speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go. Beware of neutrality. 41 The apostles left the Sanhedrin, rejoicing because they had been counted worthy of suffering disgrace for the Name.  42 Day after day, in the temple courts and from house to house, they never stopped teaching and proclaiming the good news that Jesus is the Messiah.

2 Corinthians 12:5-10….I will not boast about myself, except about my weaknesses. Even if I should choose to boast, I would not be a fool, because I would be speaking the truth. But I refrain, so no one will think more of me than is warranted by what I do or say, or because of these surpassingly great revelations. Therefore, in order to keep me from becoming conceited, I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me. Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong. When we look at our lives, they are full of victories and full of setbacks. In these verses, Paul clarifies the true source of strength. God's strength. He also speaks of ‘a thorn in the flesh', placed there to keep him from being conceited. It's interesting to reframe the challenges in our life, failures in our life, and seeing even those play a divine purpose in our lives. What area of your life feels weak right now? What is the difficulty in your life right now?"When I am weak, then I am strong."This message is countercultural to our society which preaches self-reliance. Can you admit your weakness to God right now?Ask for him to give you not only the strength to make it through but also the awareness that in your weakness, He is strong, Turning all things for your good and His gloryLet's pray: “Holy Father, thank you for your power that shines in my weakness. I confess my failings, I confess my weakness, and I acknowledge those areas of struggle and hardship in the very areas where are you are shining brightest through me.”

You can't fight what you can't identify. One of the enemy's greatest strategies is staying hidden—twisting situations, manipulating thoughts, and making his attacks feel like “just life.” But once you learn to recognize his patterns, you stop reacting in the flesh and start responding in the Spirit. Our springboard for today's discussion is:“Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.” — 1 Peter 5:8 (ESV)Spiritual warfare doesn't always look like Hollywood drama. It often shows up in subtle ways: discouragement that sneaks in unexpectedly, division in relationships, confusion about God's voice, and anxiety that feels like it came from nowhere. That's not coincidence—that's strategy.Satan is a deceiver, not a creator. He can't make anything new—he only distorts what already exists. He'll take God's truth and twist it. He'll take your weakness and exploit it. He'll use fear, shame, and distraction to steal your joy and silence your prayers. That's why Peter tells us to be watchful—not paranoid, but spiritually alert. We must train our minds to recognize when a battle is not just physical or emotional—but spiritual. That moment of hopelessness after a breakthrough? That temptation right after a victory? Those aren't random. They're tactical. But here's the good news: the moment you recognize the enemy, you've already taken the first step toward victory. Because now you can fight with discernment. You can pray with purpose. You can rebuke lies with truth. And most importantly—you don't fight alone.Question of the Day:Where have you seen patterns of attack in your life that might be more spiritual than circumstantial?Mini Call to Action:Take 10 minutes today and ask the Holy Spirit to show you one area where the enemy has been at work undetected. Write it down—and speak truth over it.Let's Pray:Lord, open my eyes to see where the enemy is working in my life. Give me discernment and spiritual clarity. Teach me to stand alert, to pray boldly, and to trust fully in Your victory. In Jesus' name, amen.Let's Get To Work! You're not just surviving life—you're a soldier in a battle. And the first step to winning? Spot the enemy before he strikes. My Reasons To Believe is a reader-supported publication. The gospel has always been a story of war; a cosmic battle for dominion, bloodlines, and the soul of mankind. In this revealing message, Zach exposes Satan's strategy, unpacks the legal victory of the cross and resurrection, and calls believers to reclaim their God-given authority. This isn't just a salvation story—it's a kingdom call to rise, rule, and crush the serpent's head.

Full Text of ReadingsSolemnity of Saints Peter and Paul, Apostles Lectionary: 590, 591The Saint of the day is Saints Peter and PaulSaints Peter and Paul's Story Peter (d. 64?) Saint Mark ends the first half of his Gospel with a triumphant climax. He has recorded doubt, misunderstanding, and the opposition of many to Jesus. Now Peter makes his great confession of faith: “You are the Messiah” (Mark 8:29b). It was one of the many glorious moments in Peter's life, beginning with the day he was called from his nets along the Sea of Galilee to become a fisher of men for Jesus. The New Testament clearly shows Peter as the leader of the apostles, chosen by Jesus to have a special relationship with him. With James and John he was privileged to witness the Transfiguration, the raising of a dead child to life, and the agony in Gethsemane. His mother-in-law was cured by Jesus. He was sent with John to prepare for the last Passover before Jesus' death. His name is first on every list of apostles. And to Peter only did Jesus say, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah. For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my heavenly Father. And so I say to you, you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of the netherworld shall not prevail against it. I will give you the keys to the kingdom of heaven. Whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven; and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven” (Matthew 16:17b-19). But the Gospels prove their own trustworthiness by the unflattering details they include about Peter. He clearly had no public relations person. It is a great comfort for ordinary mortals to know that Peter also has his human weakness, even in the presence of Jesus. He generously gave up all things, yet he can ask in childish self-regard, “What are we going to get for all this?” (see Matthew 19:27). He receives the full force of Christ's anger when he objects to the idea of a suffering Messiah: “Get behind me, Satan! You are an obstacle to me. You are thinking not as God does, but as human beings do” (Matthew 16:23b). Peter is willing to accept Jesus' doctrine of forgiveness, but suggests a limit of seven times. He walks on the water in faith, but sinks in doubt. He refuses to let Jesus wash his feet, then wants his whole body cleansed. He swears at the Last Supper that he will never deny Jesus, and then swears to a servant maid that he has never known the man. He loyally resists the first attempt to arrest Jesus by cutting off Malchus' ear, but in the end he runs away with the others. In the depth of his sorrow, Jesus looks on him and forgives him, and he goes out and sheds bitter tears. The Risen Jesus told Peter to feed his lambs and his sheep (John 21:15-17). Paul (d. 64?) If the most well-known preacher today suddenly began preaching that the United States should adopt Marxism and not rely on the Constitution, the angry reaction would help us understand Paul's life when he started preaching that Christ alone can save us. He had been the most pharisaic of Pharisees, the most legalistic of Mosaic lawyers. Now he suddenly appears to other Jews as a heretical welcomer of Gentiles, a traitor and apostate. Paul's central conviction was simple and absolute: Only God can save humanity. No human effort—even the most scrupulous observance of law—can create a human good which we can bring to God as reparation for sin and payment for grace. To be saved from itself, from sin, from the devil, and from death, humanity must open itself completely to the saving power of Jesus. Paul never lost his love for his Jewish family, though he carried on a lifelong debate with them about the uselessness of the Law without Christ. He reminded the Gentiles that they were grafted on the parent stock of the Jews, who were still God's chosen people, the children of the promise. Reflection We would probably go to confession to Peter sooner than to any of the other apostles. He is perhaps a more striking example of the simple fact of holiness. Jesus says to us as he said, in effect, to Peter: “It is not you who have chosen me, but I who have chosen you. Peter, it is not human wisdom that makes it possible for you to believe, but my Father's revelation. I, not you, build my Church.” Paul's experience of the risen Jesus on the road to Damascus was the driving force that made him one of the most zealous, dynamic, and courageous ambassadors of Christ the Church has ever had. But persecution, humiliation, and weakness became his day-by-day carrying of the cross, material for further transformation. The dying Christ was in him; the living Christ was his life. I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.”Matthew 16:21-22 NIVFrom that time Jesus began to explain to his disciples that he must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things at the hands of the elders, the chief priests and the teachers of the law, and that he must be killed and on the third day be raised to life. Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him, saying, “Never, Lord!” he said. “This shall never happen to you!” Matthew 16:23 ESVBut he turned and said to Peter, “Get behind me, Satan! For the final sermon of our Clash of Kingdoms series, we explore the biblical narrative from Genesis to Revelation through the lens of spiritual warfare. This powerful message reveals how God's first gospel promise in Genesis 3:15—the enmity between the serpent and the woman's offspring—finds its ultimate fulfillment in Jesus Christ. Discover how Jesus appears in Revelation as both the sacrificial Lamb who was slain for our sins and the conquering Lion who defeats Satan completely. Learn why Jesus needed to be both Lamb and Lion to fulfill God's redemptive plan, and how the cross, resurrection, and final judgment represent the progressive defeat of the serpent. The message concludes with a breathtaking vision of the new creation where sin, death, and tears are no more. This teaching will help you understand spiritual warfare, recognize Jesus in His fullness, examine your spiritual allegiance, find hope in Christ's promised victory, and live today in light of the coming kingdom. Perfect for anyone seeking to understand the Bible's overarching narrative, spiritual warfare, end times prophecy, the book of Revelation, Jesus Christ's dual nature, Christian hope, spiritual growth, biblical theology, Genesis 3:15, serpent's defeat, spiritual kingdoms, Christian victory, redemption plan, new creation, and eternal life.

June 30-July 6Joseph Smith was tasked by the Lord to do something rather unique for a backwoods, upstate New York farmer now living in Northern Ohio. The Prophet Nephi had seen a vision some two thousand four hundred years before that many of the plain and precious things which were in the Bible had been taken out by the great and abominable Church, and because those plain and precious things were taken away, “an exceedingly great many do stumble, yea, insomuch that Satan hath great power over them.” (See 1 Nephi 13: 26-29) This commandment from the Lord and branch of Joseph's calling would be to carefully go through the Bible and begin to restore many of those plain and precious things that were lost. He was commanded to translate the Bible. And the results would be astounding. We'll talk about this in detail in this episode.

In this powerful conversation, Ruslan sits down with Father Josiah Trenham, a prominent Eastern Orthodox priest, author, and YouTuber, for an in-depth dialogue about sacred architecture, spiritual formation, and reclaiming the culture for Christ.Father Josiah shares the incredible story of how his Riverside parish began in a hot, windowless warehouse next to a train track—and how, through faith, grit, and community, it became a breathtaking church modeled after a 13th-century Greek structure. They explore why Orthodox churches are lavishly built, the deep symbolism behind facing east in worship, and why believers literally spit west when renouncing Satan. The discussion expands into critiques of modern universities and hospitals, the rise of secularism, and how Christians have slowly retreated from institutions they once built—from Ivy League schools to popular art and culture. Father Josiah argues that this retreat stems from cold hearts more than just cultural pressure, urging believers to reorient their lives around God's kingdom, not escape the world but transform it.Whether you're curious about Orthodox tradition, hungry for spiritual depth, or wrestling with how to live out your faith in a secular age—this episode will challenge, inspire, and reawaken your vision.
