20 Buck Spin unleashes the eponymous debut LP from Austin, Texas-based death metal quartet Corpus Offal, and it's a game-changer! Born from the ashes of the legendary Cerebral Rot, Corpus Offal features guitarist/vocalist Ian Schwab and guitarist Clyle Lindstrom, joined by bassist Jason Sachs and drummer Jesse Shreibman. This album is a sonic autopsy of death metal, gore, and deathgrind, with low-tuned grooves and discordant leads that will leave you disoriented and craving more! With a production by the legendary Billy Anderson, Corpus Offal's debut is a masterpiece that will appeal to fans of Fetid, Disgorge, Cenotaph, Goatlord, Undergang, and Cianide. Don't miss this opportunity to experience the most merciless and perversely invigorating music of the year! Who better than Billy to stamp them HEAVY or NOT HEAVY. “In times of crisis, we as listeners tend to gravitate towards two modes of musical escapism: Uplifting sounds that remind us of the light at the end of the tunnel and/or earsplitting songs tethered to the hellish here and now. Both camps are equally valid (more on the glass-half-full camp tomorrow). Still, in a year defined by unprecedented isolation and unrest, the catharsis offered by heavy music felt even more ubiquitous and essential. The chaos wasn’t limited to usual suspects like metal, punk, or noise, either; the records featured below offer everything from revolutionary jazz grooves to harrowing electronic breakdowns to ethereal folk harmonies. I met Billy last year at an Arete Syndicate event and even though we only met briefly, his energy was infectious! I knew I had to talk to him more. Ray Price [09:57] "For the Good Times" For the Good Times Columbia C 30106 1970 This Kris Kristofferson-penned tune would be come Ray's first number 1 single in since 1959. The album also features a rendition of Kristofferson's "Help Me Make It through the Night". Roxy Music [15:12] "Editions of You" For Your Pleasure Warner Bros. A&M Records SP-3703 1976 I was going to go with "Jumpin' Jack Flash", but it's nearly 8 goddam minutes long, so instead we've got this one. It's only 3 and a half minutes. The Kingston Trio [49:04] "New York Girls" From the Hungry I Capitol Records T1107 1959 Surprise, the album sleeve was for Frank and Tommy, but instead it was a Kingston Trio record. I dated a few New York Girls in my time. I don't recall any of them being able to dance the polka. Tom Waits [51:53] "Telephone Call from Istanbul" Frank's Wild Years Island Records 90572-1 1987 Un operachi romantico in two acts. This classic track features Marc Ribot on banjo. Frankie Crocker & the Heart and Soul Orchestra [55:05] "Funkin' Up Hollywood" Frankie Crocker & the Heart and Soul Orchestra Casablanca NBLP 7050 1977 Something that found its way into my collection. A great studio technician and tenderpunk master, Sarah Tudzin had to buy out her contract from the troubled Tiny Engines label and instead of releasing the album she had been working on, popped out this contractual obligation record. The album has great range (https://youtu.be/ZKtuGSjnrFk), and I am especially enamored of this relatable track. Music behind the DJ: "Make the World Go Away" by Lawrence Welk and Orchestra

I wasn't always good at it, and being an introvert - or at least the stigma that comes with my personality type - didn't help...but with the help of mentors, reframing, persistence, and studying it has turned into my greatest strength. The GlueGar with brushes is nice and efficient, it hold less then the bottles but it is a little easier to use, especially when on the go. The third product is the Canagar Kits, there are three sizes, MiniGar 4grams, then 8 Gram, and 28Gram. Caligars has a new flavor coming out. The Gateway Show has been around for 5 years Internationally. Billy created a way for comics to peacock their abilities. In the last 3 years the show has become what it it, it’s kind of a roast of weed culture and make fun of the audience and the culture. Billy is more of an outsider looking in. Craft beer and craft weed difference is very similar. You need experts, the show is more for the Bud Light drinker and not the craft drinker. Brea Improv Show Tonight! It’s all about what you can advertise, some people have to smoke quick sometimes. The Cannabis Liquor and Control Board, shout out to you David! The Show is always in the Grey area, we cant encourage to smoke but people can do what they want! The Gateway show has a great turnout of good people, your average pot head is little more chill and empathetic. They perform at the international Church of Cannabis in Colorado, this is Billy’s favorite Venue far and away! Go Check it OUT! Oo We accidentally dropped some joints they are here for you lol. No group is without an asshole or two, the Cannabis group is pretty chill. No one who is too stuck up will want to go to weed theme comedy show! Billy is an actual comic he says that jokingly because it snuck up on him. Billy got millions of views on Dry Bar comedy and a lot of the people seeing it are booking him for clean comedy. A lot of Billy’s material is how bad he is with it. Crew ships are aggressively anti-weed, they can kick you off at any port, Billy is not going to stop smoke for a cruise ship. Billy was doing three shows a day for six days a week, and you have to be clean. People excited about comedy see you early in the week so it gets worse as the week goes on. Billy is an end of the day smoker its a cool down after a nice work day. Weed Tolerance is a very interesting thing, you can smoke yourself sober. At the end of the night weed can be a nice off switch and Billy along with Jack love smoking before bed. Loud and clear by AbsoluteExtracts hits nice, Billy grew up with old school blunts at the party. Billy moved from Georgia to Kansas to where Jack also lived for awhile. Good things came out of Billy’s T-mobile experience but other than that fuck T-mobile. The Sunk cost fallacy, your going to want it to be worth it. A lot of people will buy Cannabis companies and licenses and have to idea what they are doing. Everything trickles down, is there a benefit in being good in Cannabis anymore. Regulation in California you have to have Millions to make an impact. Legal adjacent, there are a lot of stores and their are a lot os store that aren’t licensed. Billy has had success with ads on Facebook, and Billy’s argument it their show does not directly sell weed, it is about weed but does not directly sell weed. Billy has spent $100,000 on FB ads, but it is very legal to present, sponsor gets flagged. It’s a brand advertisement and it get in front of the perfect audience giving you hot leads. What are they going to do all they have to do is hitch their wagon. If you say sponsor you will get flagged, say presented by. Billy has had success on getting visibility but FB is better and the FB group is the best. Billy teaches us how to do the perfect Cannabis FB event. FB event boosting is the number one way to get around the FB rules. Their is only one way to do just fucking DO it, dumber people than you are doing it right now.

This week Kyle and Matthew sit down with comedian Billy Anderson and Taco Bell grandma Becky Joiner to talk about Stephen King movie adaptations. Kyle thinks we're currently in a "Kingassaince." They unpack the different versions of The Shining, which leads to a nice chat about what makes a good movie versus what makes a good book. They also discuss how Kyle and Billy's friendship comes from their mutual love of The Stand TV miniseries. They work through all the classic King adaptations (and a few of the not so classics) and also chat about how the non-canonical Pet Sematary 2 is pretty great. They explore the evolution of King's themes through the decades and how those themes have been addressed in film. Plus, they point out that there is an Annie Wilkes lurking inside of every nerd. They also propose how much cooler it would have been if the second season of Stranger Things had flashed forward to the kids as adults. Finally, they talk about their cautious optimism for the new It movie, and Kyle encourages everyone to check out the upcoming Gerald's Game adaptation for Netflix. His special was absolutely hilarious and I invited him on the podcast as soon as I saw he was coming back to town. Mike is currently tour with Billy on "The Gateway Show Tour", so Billy brought Mike along to join the show. It was great talking to Billy and Mike and learning more about their comedy careers and meeting each other on the stand up scene in Seattle.  On the episode we talked about Billy's struggle to find an ethernet cable, starting stand up and moving to Seattle, creating and touring "The Gateway Show, getting high at Universal Studios and so much more.  A huge thanks for Billy and Mike for taking the time to come on the show while they were in town. My face hurt from laughing after recording with them. Billy was 5 years old his mom heard him crying in his room. She asked what was wrong and he said “You're born, you live for a while, and then you die. What's the point?” It took him years to answer that question. Now he helps other people figure out their “point” and live a life that's true to them. But years ago, Billy felt stuck. Stuck in a career that looked good on paper but wasn't fulfilling. He dreaded Mondays and couldn't wait for Fridays. However, he wasn't willing to accept that his life had to be like this. Billy finally found the courage to stop doing what the world told him he “should” do. Instead, he defined his own version of success and went after it. He left his successful advertising career – people thought he was nuts - and moved into the woods to lead wilderness adventures for Outward Bound, while leading volunteer projects in Central America and the South Pacific during the winter. Billy is the founder of The Courage Crusade and author of “Your Comfort Zone Is Killing You.”  He is a professional coach and keynote speaker. Billy also finds time to get WAY out of his comfort zone so he can grow his courage “muscle”. He has jumped out of an airplane exactly 101 times. He has traveled to over 40 countries including trekking in the Himalayas, running with the Bulls in Spain, and swimming with sharks in South America. He has been a sugar-cane farmer in Costa Rica, an apple picker in New Zealand, and a fundraising director for UNICEF. Billy knows what makes him tick. He understands the importance of courage in not allowing his fears to hold him back. In fact, he is scared of the exact same things you are: failure, looking stupid, not being liked.

Let's talk about overcoming fears, doing what is wildly uncomfortable and how to overcome this incessant desire within all of us to make sure other people like us. Because if you want to live a wildly amplified life, you're going to have to get clear on what is important to you. And odds are, people liking you is low on that list. About The Guest When Billy was 5 years old his mom heard him crying in his room. He said, “You’re born, you live for a while, then you die. What’s the point?” He spent the rest of his life figuring it out. The point is this: have the courage to be authentically YOU all the time, and have a sh!t-load of fun while you do it. After years of doing what the world said he “should” do, Billy redefined his version of success and went after it. He left his successful advertising career, moved into the woods and led wilderness trips for Outward Bound, while leading volunteer projects in Central America and the South Pacific during the winter. Billy is now an International Speaker and Professional Coach.
