He has since been featured extensively in national and international publications including The New York Times, Forbes, and Huffington Post, to name a few.Dr. Sullivan's clinical research focuses on applying technology to improve mental health — particularly by teaching anyone how to shift their state of mind on demand. After two years of successful pilots, UCSC's Health Center subscribed their entire 20,000+ member community to receive Shifts in 2023.Dr. Sullivan believes teaching ‘shifting' is the best way to address the massive US and worldwide mental health and unhappiness crisis we currently face. Please do me a favor, subscribe, leave a positive review on iTunes, follow us on Instagram and share if you know anyone who would benefit from this or other episodes!Do you want to work with me? Listen in as Jason does a deep dive into how our repressed trauma stories, often formed in our youth, impact our financial well-being as well as how we show up in our marriage. The resulting stress emanating from those wounds is more than emotional and psychological. It manifests physically too, since each emotion, according to Jason, is tied to a different organ in our body. “We play out our unfinished wounding from our childhood,” says Jason. “We unconsciously project that onto the people that we're attracted to—both the positive traits and the challenging traits.” The solution? To allow the body to heal itself naturally, by first and foremost becoming aware of our unconscious trauma stories, so that we can become empowered “to transform life's stressors into maximized potential.” Key Topics: Why Jason became a therapist (01:22) The development of maladaptive stress patterns (06:47) The benefits of NET (15:30) Getting clear on our unconscious stories (20:20) Remembering that the body keeps the score (26:39) Organs connected to emotions (32:04) How our wounds in childhood manifest in adulthood (34:34) Simplicity over complexity (45:20) Resources: Jason on LinkedIn You Winning Life (Jason's podcast) Neuro Emotional Technique Healthy Love and Money Resources: Healthy Love and Money Website The Couples Guide to Financial Intimacy Healthy Love and Money Facebook Healthy Love and Money Instagram Healthy Love and Money LinkedIn The Healthy Love & Money Way: How the Four Attachment Styles Impact Your Financial Well-Being (book) Stop Fighting & Start Talking: Gaining Peace and Perspective on Family Finances (book)

Jason Wasser is a healer therapist who practices the neuro-emotional technique. A licensed marriage and family therapist, he is one of only a few thousand licensed NET practitioners in the country and a mind-body integrative wellness specialist. His knowledge about the mind-body connection and how to move past traditional talk therapy through trauma muscle testing is extensive.Jason has witnessed firsthand positive patient outcomes that he has facilitated through his use of the neuro-emotion technique for releasing physical pain rooted in emotional trauma. Giving us a rare inside look at the new research being done by Andrew Newberg on NET, he details the rigorous process of clinically validating these findings through FMRI scans and muscle testing.Matana and Jason had a lot to unpack together, discussing traumas and their physiological effect. Jason details his “Home Run Formula” which touches on the four bases of mind-body wellness; removing toxins, assessing nutrition, repairing structural damage, and healing the mind.He coaches his patients to focus on their core values and where in their life those core values were violated. He guides patients through the neuro-emotional technique by focusing on the beliefs associated with their emotional reality rather than specific traumatic events, accomplishing what traditional therapies take years to tackle. As we all know, sharing can help others. ‘If you don’t have a therapist there is something wrong with you’ In this episode, Kate is speaking with Jason Wasser from Miami. Jason explains why everyone should have a therapist and how it can help you achieve the lifestyle you want and meet the goals you have set. Jason explains how working with a therapist and treating the mind, body and spirit is key to achieving the positive connections that enable you to be proactive across all elements of your life. KEY TAKEAWAYS Background Jason Wasser’s accreditations include licenced marriage and family therapist and certified neuro-emotional technique practitioner, he has worked across sports, TV, business and the corporate world. I believe everyone in the world should have a therapist and coach to help them minimise their life stress and maximise their potential. As a systematically trained therapist, there is always going to be the relationship you have with the world and this is based on your beliefs. I see everything as a relational dynamic, about what that person wants to have in that dynamic and how I can help them get there. Do you feel that from when you started things have changed in the world of therapy and coaching? There is currently a duality, some people are moving and growing, and some people are just stuck. People get stuck in that old school mentality of one size fits all, but this is not applicable today. Therapy for the individual using a varied approach and methodology is vital. There no such thing as the absolute truth, just the truth you are co-creating with shared realities around you. Are the results you get different? Radically as the results are seen much quicker. My job is to reconnect all those elements that are a disconnect in your mind and body so that you can be proactive instead of going into a fight or flight state of response. There are not many therapists that are changing the nervous system response as part of their methodology currently. What brought you along this path? Once I got into the modalities and started practising more integrative medicine and functional nutrition I started to realise your whole nervous system needs to be treated as part of the therapy process. The neuro-emotional technique addresses all these needs. The neuro-emotional technique how does it work? Your brain and eyes are processing constantly processing thousands of images, and our rational brain sorts this information into rational categories. Your logical brain is not able to process any emotional triggers or memories, and this can result in a response such as your reptilian brain moving you to a fight or flight state if an image triggers an emotional connection or memory. The neuro-emotional technique combines a number of techniques and principles from traditional Chinese medicine, chiropractic and applied kinesiology. It is a holistic approach to well-being focusing on imbalances in the structure of the skeletomuscular system, unresolved ‘negative emotional blocks’, toxins in the body and deficiencies in nutrition. The body holds on to emotions that it has experienced from the beginning of life to the present time. The subconscious mind remembers all of these experiences, including negative and traumatic ones. These emotions can be triggered and translate to pain on a physical level. The physiological status of the body, through the process of remembering, is emotionally replicating a similar physiological state to that experienced in the original event. What are the toxins that someone is carrying around? Any good therapist will be looking for the underlying causes that have triggered an illness and sometimes exposure to toxins can be the cause for a range of disorders. The right nutritional intake along with the removal of sources and exposure to toxins can radically alter a person’s level of wellness. What’s the one thing that you do that changes people’s perception? The crucial point is when they make the link about their emotional health being something more than just chemicals in their brain. I believe everything is mind body and spirit and along with that belief, I know we carry around an intersection of things we’ve been carrying around since we were born alongside intergeneration themes. I ask my clients to think differently and consider what if this is not biochemically theirs but something their family has had over generations, an ‘emotional muscle memory pattern’ and they can be the person who can take control of it. BEST MOMENTS ‘It doesn’t really matter what your environment is whether you're corporate or performance related I believe everyone should have a therapist to help them get out of their own way’ ‘The people I hang out with are way out of the box’ ‘I can be a therapist and an entrepreneur and help other people’ ‘I see so many money-related therapy blockages’ ‘Entrepreneurship is a radically wild modality’ ‘You don’ t know what you don’t know’ ‘People may look healthy on the outside, but they are not healthy on the inside’ ‘Without a functional assessment and working with a practitioner you’re not going to be able to get the core of things’ ‘If you don’t have a therapist there is something wrong with you’ ‘Therapy is an emotional modality’ ‘We train people how to think differently’ VALUABLE RESOURCES https://itunes.apple.com/gb/podcast/the-mental-health-revolution-podcast/id1440021168?mt=2 https://www.amazon.co.uk/Importance-Suffering-Meaning-Emotional-Discontent/dp/0415667801 https://thefamilyroomsfl.com/ https://www.instagram.com/jasonwasserlmft/?hl=en ABOUT THE HOST Kate Ashley-Norman is creator of Positive Mind Management, the host of The Mental Health Revolution podcast, and a passionate speaker and trainer about our emotional wellbeing. She is seeking to change the nature and tone of the conversation around mental health for business owners, their workplaces and ultimately in their personal lives. Kate has spent the last 25+ years running her own businesses, initially working running a six figure PR consultancy agency, then building a multi-million pound international property portfolio. Latterly she has dedicated her time to studying emotional mastery and positive psychology, while bringing up four children, and has used her experience and knowledge to create the Positive Mind Management programme specifically for entrepreneurs and small businesses. The knowledge Kate has collated will help you to not only better understand your emotions, it will help you both improve it, and supercharge it during those more challenging times when emotional wellbeing can be compromised. Fear, procrastination, overwhelm, powerlessness, self worth – empire building is a hugely challenging process in its own right. The more power you hold within your own emotions, the more you can harness the power of those emotions, good and bad, to the benefit of your business and life in general. Hugely practical and applicable, this revolutionary approach to mental health is putting the power back into the hands of each and every individual.
