It could be Breaks, it could be House, it could be something only Sticky people knows. either way, we had a blast grooving to it at our 10 year NYE Anniversary Party. Drawing inspiration from classic artists and personal turning points, Sticky People weaves samples, reinterpretations, and original material into a cohesive live performance that reflects both growth and confidence behind the gear. - Words from the Artist - I think this mix technically lands in breaks, since most of the tracks don't use a straight four-on-the-floor kick, but to me it still feels a lot like house. These are some of my favorite tunes I've put together over the last year, and they've grown out of playing live whenever I get the chance. I've played a few parties where I had a couple hours to really stretch out, which gave me space to try new beats and ideas. Over time, I've been feeling more confident performing a dance set live—something I only really first attempted at Starlight Reunion's 2025 New Year's Eve celebration. One of the highlights for me is a remix—more like a cover—of “Jettin” by Digable Planets. I saw them play it with a full band at Coachella in 2006, and it completely changed my life. Reworking that track into something house-inspired felt like a way to honor that moment.
