Luckily, the race itself proved worthy of the occasion with some truly spectacular fights. We've got Marc Márquez winning, but something seems different this time around. We've got Alex crashing, more teams than Ducati on the podium and Franco Morbidelli being, well, Franco Morbidelli. Also, we've got a surprising amount of poetry?!It's going to be a good one, so go get yourself a drink and let our humble bards Mat and Peter sing you the ballade of Assen. Cheers! Want more? After a year of announcements, wait, anticipation and an investigation by the European Commission, Liberty Media were finally given the green light to complete their majority purchase of Dorna Sports, the commercial rights holders of MotoGP, for $4.2 billion. On this week's episode of Tank Slappers, Dre Harrison, Richard Asher and Uri Puigdemont break down the move and what they hope will be the key areas that Liberty focuses on in order to grow the sport, such as revenue sharing, marketing improvements, and getting people to care about the riders, like F1 has with "Drive to Survive". All the action from the past weekend's Italian Grand Prix is also reviewed, with Marc Marquez taking control early on and never looking back enroute to his fifth win of 2025, and his first at Mugello since 2014. With Alex Marquez second again and Pecco Bagnaia off the podium, is the title battle already over? There's also a discussion in regards to whether Alex Marquez is racing his brother differently to others, and the struggles that Bagnaia has faced in Ducati. And finally, Franco Morbidelli was in the spotlight for causing a nasty crash with Maverick Vinales that led to the Italian taking a Long Lap Penalty. But is the current system in place not harsh enough for ending another riders race?

Apologies for the lateness of this Pod Cast! In this episode Jim and Rich cover everything from Aragon! The kick it off with some great listener feedback about semi-automated ride height devices. Then they go over the news of Martins contract issues and the semi bombshell of Toprak signing a one year deal to race a Pramac Yamaha in 2026. Finally they guys cover the racing. The Moto3 Class was a classic with the twist of making sure you picked the right tire. This odd set of conditions resulted in a first time winner Munoz who just barely defeated the new rookie sensation Quiles! The Moto2 race was the best of the weekend and also included a first time winner. Moreira rode through the pack and chased down race leader Oncu in the closing laps. Oncu never quit and kept pushing. On the last lap at the last turn Oncu rode around the outside of Moreira to win the closest Moto2 race ever by 0.003 seconds!! MotoGp was a bit boring as Marc Marquez lead every secession ook pole position and won then sprint and on Sunday lead every lap in dominate fashion to win the main event. Domination like this has not been seen in this class since Marc himself did the same thing a decade ago at the German GP in 2015. This is the domination that we all feared when Marc was chosen to ride the factory Ducati. On the bright side Pecco appears to have found the feeling again on his Ducati and may yet be able to challenge Marc. Stay tuned!

09:12 KTM: tre configurazioni diverse, forse troppe. 11:52 Aprilia, forcellone e code, Come sta Martin? 13:57 il GP e la classifica mondiale. 16.40 Alex rivelazione dell'anno, Gresini Corse in vetta.
Hey guys, Josh Mosiman here! We have been so wide open with magazine articles, website articles, YouTube videos and instagram/facebook that we've neglected the podcast world. This is a trial run, recapping what went down in the last few weeks for myself and Josh Fout. If you want more podcasts from MXA, let us know!
Dre Harrison introduces a special episode of Tank Slappers, featuring a sit down interview with former rider, LCR Team Principal and new President of the IRTA, Lucio Cecchinello. In a wide-ranging interview, Lucio talks about what he misses most about being a rider, his new role as IRTA President, and what it was like juggling being both a rider and a team boss at the same time. There's also a chat about his partnership with Honda, and having the last two wins the manufacturer has earned in MotoGP. There's also a deep dive into what he thinks of Liberty Media, whose takeover of MotoGP is imminent, what the sport can learn from Formula 1 in terms of fandom, entertaining and sporting merit, and how he thinks the 2027 regulations could shake up the sport, and what the other manufacturers can learn from Ducati's dominance.
The iconic Italian brand allowed us to ride their new 450 Desmo MX machine in Bologna and in this episode we break it all down for you. What is like to ride the Ducati motocross machine? What does the Desmo valvetrain feel like? Is this bike competitive out of the box? All of these questions answered and then some right here.
Hello dearest ear-owners and welcome to Front End Chatter, source of the most significant soundwaves in British motorcycling since the feral howl of a raging Norton rotary haunted the quiet coastal village of Kirk Michael, or since the words "Go on then, I'll 'ave it" slipped breathlessly from the lips of a Derbyshire-born property developer attending the auction of a defunct motorcycle factory. In this aural delight of an episode, Simon and Mufga regale themselves with a recap of the spectacularly special Highland Fling tours (so good they did them twice), along with: • Loadsa goss about Triumph's Tiger Sport 800 and BMW's R1300GS Adventure having covered 3000 miles apiece • Why MotoGP might be getting interesting again, and why the TT continues to fascinate every corner of the country for more than a century • The forced-induction fabulousness that was the Bennetts Supercharged Showdown, where 50-plus Kawasaki H2 owners took over an empty runway • Simon gets a taste of Ducati's £16,000 Streetfighter V2S • Martin gets a taste of Voge's £6,000(ish) DS625X • The latest facts, news, rumours and baseless speculation regarding Bajaj's takeover of KTM, and what it might mean for the future • FECsack correspondence covering classic sports-tourers for young riders, the dubious bargains of Facebook Marketplace, how media gets hold of the bikes they test, bikes with undeserved reputations, the best British five-day biking tour, and more… Thank you, one and all, for continuing to allow us to tickle your tympanic membranes - and enormously gigantical appreciations to Bennetts, Britain's best bike insurers. Dre Harrison is joined again by Richard Asher and Uri Puigdemont to review what was an incredibly dramatic Grand Prix of Great Britain at Silverstone. It was a shocking win for Marco Bezzecchi, Aprilia winning their first race of 2025, and it couldn't have come at a better time with the unstable future of World Champion Jorge Martin still looming over the horizon. But will that win and Aprilia CEO Massimo Rivera's plea for Martin to stay hold up? There's also a discussion on the heartbreaking rear ride-height device failure that almost certainly cost Yamaha's Fabio Quartararo his first victory in nearly three years. The trio react to the emotional outpouring from the French rider and the solace Yamaha can take from the performance. Also on the podcast, Ducati's surprise struggles in Britain, Pedro Acosta's possible ultimatum to the bosses at KTM, Johann Zarco scoring another podium for Honda, and what the British GP can do to attract more fans after another disappointing attendance of under 100,000 for the weekend.
Dave Roper has been racing motorcycles for more than half a century. The New England native is probably best known for campaigning exotic vintage machinery under the Robert Iannucci-led Team Obsolete banner. He's fast, too. In fact, Roper won more than half of the races he entered on Iannucci's 1959 Matchless G50, including, famously, the 1984 Senior Historic TT at the Isle of Man.“We lived relatively close to Lime Rock Park in northwest Connecticut,” Roper tells “Driven to Ride” host Mark Long. “We used to go up there and watch the sports cars. That's what I thought I wanted to do.” Once he found motorcycling, however, Roper was immediately hooked. “Motorcycles are more accessible,” he explains. “They're cheaper, they're smaller, they're easier to work on.”Now in his 70s, Roper has been the subject of many editorial projects, including a documentary film, “Motorcycle Man.” “I don't feel like I'm all that special as a racer,” he says. “I've had some success. I've arranged my life so I can continue doing it; I'm not married, I don't have any children. I love the social aspect of it, traveling and seeing people who you share a very special thing with.” Connect with Us:Website: www.driventoridepodcast.comInstagram: www.Instagram.com/driventoridepodcastFacebook: www.facebook.com/driventorideEmail:hello@driventoridepodcast.com
Just when you thought the 2025 MotoGP season couldn't get any more dramatic - the BritishGP goes completely off the rails, with action, excitement, tragedy, and a few major plot twists...along with some major luck for the top title contenders. I try to unpack everything that happened in Silverstone! The Rundown:- Qualifying: Fabio once again steps up, Marc drops off the front row- Sprint Race: Ducati dominates, but not the way we expected them to- MotoGP Race: well a LOT just happened- Disaster for the Marquez brothers. Except that it wasn't- Tire strategy is the key - but you have to both have a strategy AND race that strategy- Fabio does everything right. Until it goes wrong. - Bezzecchi and Aprilia make the bigest statement then can, at exactly the right time - you can't script this stuff- Ducati battles just to be on the podium- Pecco is in trouble- The MotoGP Championship Picture- My take on the BritishGPWhat did you think of Silverstone? And there's a discussion of what this sudden win does for Aprilia amid its ongoing Jorge Martin 'situation'.Finally, with poor attendance numbers this weekend, they discuss what Silverstone could be doing differently as the British home of MotoGP.Want more MotoGP podcast content?
Liza is off riding the mountains of Pakistan again, so it's her turn to pick a favorite from the archives, and it doesn't get much better than Debbie Evans Leavitt. She's a 7 time Taurus World Stunt Award winner, she's in the AMA Hall of Fame and the Hollywood Stunt Hall of Fame. She's got almost 400 movie and TV credits to her name, and was also one of the best trials riders in the world. But for us her most notable job has been that of Trinity on the Ducati in Matrix Revolutions which I believe to be the best motorcycle stunt in the movies ever done. Debbie tells us about her dad that got her into riding when she was six, some of the highs and lows of her career, and her whole family that shares in her love of motorcycles and stunts. Most people predicted that Marc Marquez's arrival in the factory Ducati MotoGP team was going to be bad news for Pecco Bagnaia, but this bad?Ducati's lead title hope for the last four seasons (and twice world champion for it) hasn't beaten his new team-mate in a straight fight at all yet or even looked like doing so.Val Khorounzhiy and Matt Beer put Bagnaia's disappointing 2025 form centre stage in the latest episode of The Race MotoGP Podcast. Is Bagnaia tinkering with the ‘GP25-ish' too much searching for something that will prove impossible to find and does he just need to get on with riding it?Does Bagnaia now have to start thinking about a move away from Ducati? And is Fermin Aldeguer already poised to take his place? We let long-time Aldeguer advocate Val go suitably nuts about the Gresini rookie's rise as he starts to prove Ducati right for committing to him so early.Want more MotoGP podcast content? It has four cylinders. It won ten world championships, claimed first in over a hundred races and still holds the world record for longest uninterrupted streak with twenty-two wins in a row. It's the Honda NSR500, and it might be the meanest, fastest two-wheeling machine of the 20th century. But it really didn't start out like that. Turn back the clock to those first few years, and this modern legend looked more like a lame duck. The weight distribution was horrible, it took Freddy Spencer to the bloody edge and even famous 'wild man' Wayne Gardner could barely wrestle it under control. But they won with it, and the bike kept getting better, turning itself into a world title machine. From Spencer to Gardner to Lawson to Doohan to Crivillé and, finally, to Valentino Rossi - all of them riding Honda's famous twostroke. So, in the direct aftermath of Ducati's dashed hopes of breaking Honda's record, we take a look at the NSR500 and how it changed the landscape. And maybe we discover that the more things change, the more they stay the same...Want more? Visit our website or support us on Patreon.
