The Rich Zeoli Show- Full Episode (11/06/2023): On Monday, Donald Trump took the witness stand in a civil fraud case in which New York Attorney General Letitia James, a political rival, alleges the former president inflated the value of assets controlled by the Trump Organization in financial statements. If Trump loses the case, he could be fined up to $250 million and be prohibited from doing business in New York moving forward. Notably, in 2018, while campaigning to become Attorney General, James vowed to “sue” Donald Trump—providing evidence to Trump's argument that this civil suit is entirely political. While speaking outside of a New York courthouse on Monday, Donald Trump's attorney Alina Habba accused Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Arthur Engoron of belittling her, yelling at her, and “slamming” his fist on a table—referring to the judge as “unhinged.” On Sunday, Face the Nation discussed a new CBS/YouGov poll which indicates that Americans believe they would be in a better financial situation if Donald Trump were to win the 2024 presidential election. According to polling data from The New York Times and Siena College, Donald Trump leads President Joe Biden in five of six key swing states: Nevada, Georgia, Arizona, Michigan, and Pennsylvania—with his lead ranging from 4 to 10 points in each state. Biden leads the hypothetical matchup by 2 points in Wisconsin, though it was within the margin of error. You can read more here: https://www.nytimes.com/2023/11/05/us/politics/biden-trump-2024-poll.html While speaking with Fareed Zakaria on CNN, political commentator and comedian Bill Maher said he doesn't believe President Joe Biden can win the 2024 presidential election citing recent polling: “some of these polling results, I think people need to look at them. Trump is winning [voters] under [the age of] 30.” Could Vice President Kamala Harris replace President Joe Biden as the Democratic Party's 2024 presidential nominee? According to Joe DePaolo, Harris would perform even worse than Biden in a hypothetical match-up against Donald Trump: “The one state out of the six in which Biden is currently holding a lead, according to the Times, is Wisconsin—where the incumbent has a two-point edge, 47-45. But Trump turns the tables in a matchup with Harris, leading her 47-46.” You can read more here: https://www.mediaite.com/news/kamala-harris-fares-even-worse-against-trump-in-brutal-nyt-poll-for-biden-re-election/ Vincent Altieri—Candidate for North Penn School Board in Montgomery County—joins The Rich Zeoli Show to discuss his campaign ahead of tomorrow's election. That's the story of another failed green-energy project, as the follies keep being exposed. The renewable energy firm Orsted last week backed out of two megaprojects along the Jersey shore that it started planning in 2019. With his eye on support from the climate lobby for a White House run, Mr. Murphy courted the developments, which were meant to provide electricity for hundreds of thousands of homes… The New Jersey bust isn't the only sign of wind industry woes. She says there is more than the notes passed between the judge and his law clerk at issue. The judge, in a meta moment that he acknowledges, is now consulting with the law clerk in question, Allison Greenfield. Does Jim Kenney really want his job? Philadelphia's mayor brought this question upon himself on July 4th, when he said during a media briefing, “I'll be happy when I'm not Mayor and I can enjoy some stuff.” The comments came in response to a non-fatal shooting incident during the city's Fourth of July celebration, but those words have dogged Kenney ever since. So, how much truth was there to what he said? KYW Newsradio City Hall Bureau Chief Pat Loeb asks Kenney about that night and more in her annual year-end sit down with the Mayor, who was eager to defend his record despite gun violence continuing to roil the city. First, Dom wishes the Councilman a happy holiday, and asks why he believes no Republicans have declared for Mayor yet, with Oh telling that he's currently exploring a run himself, but explaining that the Democrats are in a bit of a hurry because of a highly contested Primary. Dom and the Councilman run through multiple issues that the City and current administration face, particularly a homelessness crisis that only continues to grow, with Oh suggesting what should be done for improvement in the City. The Rich Zeoli Show- Full Show (11/15/2022): 3:05pm- According to Polish media reports, two people were killed in an explosion at a grain processing facility in Poland along the Ukraine-Poland border. Speaking to the press, Defense Department Spokesman Brigadier General Pat Ryder said the Pentagon does not have confirmation that the explosion was part of a Russian missile barrage. In a statement posted to Twitter, Abbott explained that by treating the flow of illegal migration as an "invasion," Texas would be able to tackle the problem with unprecedented vigor. "I invoked the Invasion Clauses of the US & Texas Constitutions to fully authorize Texas to take unprecedented measures to defend our state against an invasion," Abbott stated, adding that he's "using that constitutional authority, & other authorization & Executive Orders to keep our state & country safe." Abbott revealed that his government will deploy both the National Guard and Texas Department of Public Safety to "repel," turn back and arrest those trying to enter the country illegally. In addition, he expressed intentions of constructing a border wall in multiple counties, deploying gun boats, and designating Mexican drug cartels as foreign terrorist organizations. Abbott noted that Texas does not intend to act alone in this endeavor, and will enter into agreements with other states and foreign nations to secure the border. Over 2 million migrant encounters were recorded in Fiscal Year 2022. https://www.foxnews.com/politics/mccarthy-wins-gop-nomination-for-house-speaker McCarthy wins GOP nomination for House speaker Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy won the Republicans' designation for House speaker on Tuesday, but questions remain over his ability to lock up the spot on the floor in January. McCarthy, R-Calif., beat back a challenge by more conservative elements in the House Republican Conference represented by Rep. Andy Biggs of Arizona. The final vote tally was 188-31. Most of Biggs’ support came from members of the hard line House Freedom Caucus. Biggs had previously chaired the group, which counts more than two dozen House Republicans among its membership, between 2019 and 2022. McCarthy, meanwhile, was able to assemble a large cross-section of the House GOP conference behind his candidacy. That included conservative hardliners like Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene and centrists like Rep. Brian FitzPatrick of Pennsylvania. But the number of people who opposed him could cause trouble. "Losing 31 means he is in serious danger of not having the votes in January which would mean he’d need to drop out either that day or he could decide to before," said a senior aide to GOP leadership. "At that point, others would pounce." To become speaker in January, McCarthy will need at least 218 votes if the entire 435-member House is seated and voting. Currently, the potential Republican majority looks to be anywhere between 218 seats, the bare minimum needed to control the House, and 228 seats. The latter would constitute a sweep of all outstanding races, including some in which Democrats are favored, but still falls far short of the 60 seats McCarthy predicted could be possible under a GOP wave that never materialized. https://townhall.com/tipsheet/spencerbrown/2022/11/15/key-inflation-metrics-surges-again-n2615978 Key Inflation Metric Makes Biggest Jump Since June The October read on producer inflation showed some of the highest numbers in months on key indicators of price increases that have come as a result of the Biden administration and congressional Democrats' tax-and-spend agenda. Month-over-month, headline PPI inflation advanced 0.2 percent in October — the same as in September — and prices upstream from consumers increased a full eight percent in the 12 months ending in October. The core PPI number that excludes more volatile foods, energy, and trade services also saw prices increase 0.2 percent for an annual advance of 5.4 percent. Some of the more alarming data points in the latest Producer Price Index report include the index for final demand goods, which advanced 0.6 percent in October — the largest advance since June when that metric increased 2.2 percent. The Biden administration's war on safe, cheap, and reliable energy has also taken a toll on inflation, as seen again in October's PPI report in which most of the month-over-month increases "can be traced to a 2.7-percent jump in prices for final demand energy," the Bureau of Labor Statistics noted in its latest report. What's more, 60 percent of October's price increases for final demand goods are attributable to the index for gasoline which jumped 5.7 percent. At the same time, prices also increased for diesel fuel, fresh and dry vegetables, residential electric power, chicken eggs, and oil and gas field machinery. The only potential bright spot in October's PPI report is the 0.1 percent decrease seen in final demand services, its first downward movement since November of 2020. However, final demand services excluding trade, transportation, and warehousing increased by 0.2 percent. https://thepostmillennial.com/bus-carrying-illegal-aliens-to-arrive-in-philadelphia-this-week?utm_campaign=64487 Bus carrying illegal aliens to arrive in Philadelphia this week Philadelphia is preparing for the potential arrival of a busload of migrants coming from Del Rio, Texas, later this week. A spokesperson for the city told Fox News that information regarding the bus and its arrival are still not clear. Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney told NBC Philadelphia that the city would welcome the migrants "with open arms," though he also remained unclear of the timeline. The city is confident that they have enough of a plan in place, including shelter, food, and clothing. There are also plans to try and expedite work permits for the migrants so that they may become self-sufficient sooner. Other self-proclaimed sanctuary cities that have received migrant buses in the last few months have reported being overwhelmed by the influx of illegal immigrants, so much so that a public emergency was declared. Texas Governor Greg Abbott first announced that he would be transporting busloads of migrants out of Texas back in April. He has since then sent out hundreds of migrant buses to sanctuary cities across the country. The 300th bus filled with migrants from Texas left for Chicago last week. The migrant buses have been dismissed by Democrats as simply a publicity stunt, but Abbott insists that the move is to relieve pressure from the overwhelmed border towns that take the brunt of Biden's failing immigration policies. As part of our approach for any match or event, we include rainbow branding to support and embrace the LGBTQ community, as well as to promote a spirit of inclusiveness and welcoming to all fans across the globe.” He then reiterated, “As a result, locations that we will manage and operate at the FIFA World Cup, such as the team hotel, media areas and parties, will feature both traditional and rainbow U.S. Soccer branding.” USMNT coach Gregg Berhalter also addressed the rainbow flag being displayed at the team’s training facility in Qatar. https://youtu.be/TNchAw4Bjsc -Play 6:38- Be The Change was started in the wake of George Floyd’s death. The U.S. Soccer website explains, “Back in late 2020, following the death of George Floyd and the continued importance of the Black Lives Matter movement, the U.S. Men’s National Team players came together and had conversations about the social injustices that exist at home and across the world.” The message doesn’t just include promotion of the violent Black Lives Matter movement that destroyed numerous cities and lives that have still not recovered to this day, the promotion of the immoral LGBTQ lifestyle that Catechisms declare as “acts of grave depravity” and “intrinsically disordered,” but it also spawned into an anti-self defense campaign. This 80 Minute episode of 'The Teddy Brosevelt Show' was recorded on Friday, September 28 at 6,922 feet above sea level. It's probably the best podcast ever recorded by an English-speaking mammal. So why wait seven days to release it?Blame Apple. Garageband for iPad hated the file size and loved crashing during post-production. Eventually decided that I'd just have to upload the raw file without any dope beats. No intro or outro beats for you in Episode 28! Episode 28 breaks down all the major developments that occurred on Clown Planet since Episode 26 (September 15-28). EPISODE XXVIII TOPICS: * Final Authority Fact Check (FAFC) confirms that 3 out of 4 Americans with ‘Long Covid' are woke white suburban women who hate Trump. * Shocking shooting at a high school football practice in Philly straight outta ‘The Purge' gets zero coverage. Five players shot and a 14 year old kid killed by five gunmen who pulled up in an SUV and sprayed 64 bullets. This kinda stuff happens between drug cartels in Mexico all the time. Philly has the biggest open-air opioid (fentanyl + heroin) market on the East coast, and it's a very lucrative trade. Junkies can't go more than a few hours without snorting, smoking or injecting your product. Meanwhile, woke Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney, the Philly City Council and Soros-backed D.A. Larry Krasner have ushered in a golden age of crime: drug dealing, turf wars, brazen murders, dangerous streets and dozens of overdose deaths every month. The Democrats never, ever mention that THEY were the party who ushered in the ‘Golden Age of Crime' by using Marxist Mayors and Megawoke City Councils in blue cities like Portland, San Francisco, Austin and Philly to launch the ‘Defund the Police' era. * When it comes to anything related to Covid-19, just remember that a ‘conspiracy theory' is simply another term for ‘spoiler alert' in 2022. * U.S. Latinos share the same primary values that got new Italy Prime Minister Georgia Meloni elected last month - God, Family, Country. * Imagine what will happen when Hurricane Ian's son or daughter rolls through the Galveston, Texas shore next decade after that 500,000 acre offshore wind farm gets built. Do you think thousands of spinning wind turbine blades will hold up well in Category 4 or 5 winds? * Europe's “Heating or Eating?” energy and cost of living crisis is spiraling out of control. Putin has personally hiked up their electric bills by >500% since January 2022. And now that businesses and factories are shutting down, people are losing their jobs - right before Santa Claus and Jack Frost get here. * NY TIMES: ‘‘Crippling' Energy Bills Force Europe's Factories to Go Dark - Manufacturers are furloughing workers and shutting down lines because they can't pay the gas and electric charges” * Total Qlusterfuck awaits the 2.5 Million Fans heading to the 2022 Qatar World Cup next month. Imagine Fyre Festival and Woodstock ‘99 times infinity under Sharia law. No swearing! No shorts! No booze! No jorts! * Any man who dares to bro hug their buddy in public can expect to spend a minimum of three years in Qatar prison. If you perform this act while wearing cut-off jorts, expect to spend the next decade behind bars. I'm serious dude. In Qatar, you will get thrown in the slammer for swearing, wearing shorts, and being gay in public. I wouldn't worry too much though. I hear them boys over in the Middle East treat all jort-wearing Americans real good in prisons.Reaaaaaaaaaaaaaal good.* Way, way, way WAY more is coming your way on the longest episode in TBS history.Episode 28 of this blockbuster 80 minute long episode of ‘The Teddy Brosevelt Show' was recorded late Friday afternoon on September 28, 2022 at 6,922 feet above sea level. Thanks for reading Teddy Brosevelt! Full Hour | In today's third hour, Dom kicks off the Dom Giordano Program by discussing a situation playing out in the State of Illinois as Texas continues to send illegal immigrants to the sanctuary state to deal with their needs. Dom plays back a clip from a Mayor of a Chicago suburb who had immigrants shuttled to his town without his knowledge, and asks which Republican town would suffer the same consequences if Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney did something similar. Then, Senator Pat Toomey returns to the Dom Giordano Program to provide his opinion on the Senate race to replace his seat between Dr. Mehmet Oz and John Fetterman. Toomey and Giordano discuss Fetterman's recent comments that suggest he may think he's running against Toomey rather than Dr. Oz, calling him ‘a miracle' at one point during his weekend speech. Toomey explains his frustrations with the Democratic candidate, telling how he does not believe the State will be properly served under Fetterman, using his refusal to debate as evidence. Then, Giordano asks Toomey if he has any idea what Lindsey Graham was thinking in unveiling a proposal for a nationwide abortion ban the same day that the focus should have been on Biden's announcement of his ridiculous Inflation Reduction Act. Then, Dom delves into the news revealed by Pat Toomey that John Fetterman has allegedly agreed to a debate in late October, only 2 weeks prior to the election. Dom offers up what he believes Dr. Oz's strategies should be in approaching the debate against Fetterman. Also, throughout the hour, Dom takes callers for today's side question, asking for the greatest all-time television characters.
Hour 2 of The Dawn Stensland Show: John Murawski—Investigative Reporter for RealClearInvestigations—joins the show to discuss his most recent editorial, “How Blatant Anti-White Racism Won Favor in Elite America.” Murawski documents how academic elites have promoted radically progressive ideals by policing language on campus. However, these practices are now spreading from universities to K-12 education and corporate America. Is this having a corrosive effect on public discourse? During a press conference on Monday, Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney condemned the killing of Tiffany Fletcher. Kenney went on to blame state officials for Philadelphia's unmitigated violence, explaining that the city has not been allowed to adequately regulate guns within its own community. At the conclusion of his Monday press conference, Larry Krasner sparred with a reporter who questioned the progressive District Attorney's soft-on-crime policies and unique prosecutorial philosophies. Krasner denied that his policies have led to an increase in homicides and carjackings. According to research conducted at the University of Georgia, Philadelphia's soda tax has not effectively limited the city's consumption of sugary beverages—with many residents crossing city-lines to buy cheaper beverages from surrounding areas. University of Georgia researchers suggested that in order for a tax to impact behavior, the policy needs to be even more authoritative—meaning it needs to be adopted at the state or federal level.
Dom welcomes Pennsylvania State Rep. Martina White back onto the Dom Giordano Program to hear what Harrisburg Republicans are doing to help private schools who are suffering through sluggish bureaucracy as they wait for textbooks. Rep. White takes us inside the issue, telling about the budget allotment that was earmarked for private and charter schools, and the continued lack of urgency in getting these schools the supplies they need. Also, Martina White responds to Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney, who called state lawmakers ‘backwards' because of their take on gun laws. (Photo by Getty Images)
Full Hour | In today's third hour, Dom leads off the Dom Giordano Program by continuing the discussion centered on the Senate race between Dr. Mehmet Oz and John Fetterman. Dom laments that Fetterman continues to deny requests for debates, telling that he believes most Pennsylvanians aren't aware of the policies propagated by the far-left John Fetterman. Then, after playing his Money Melody for the day, Dom returns to forecasting the upcoming midterm elections, asking whether there are any candidates throughout the country more radical than John Fetterman. Then, Giordano swings over to the topic of abortion, telling that alleged Catholic Nancy Pelosi has now called it ‘sinful' to be pro-Life, while religious officials offer the opposite opinion. Then, Dom welcomes Pennsylvania State Rep. Full Hour | In today's third hour, Dom offers his thoughts on his interview with Dr. Mehmet Oz, explaining why the conversation has further solidified his support for Oz over Fetterman. Then, Dom tells of a breaking news story in the Philadelphia Inquirer, revealing that Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney has announced a ‘donation' of half a million dollars to an abortion group. Dom obviously takes umbrage with this, asking whether it's even illegal to direct public funds toward such a thing. Then, Giordano takes issue with Governor Phil Murphy's commentary on a push to control what's being taught to New Jersey children in sexual education curriculum. Also, Giordano takes callers throughout the hour, gauging their opinion on both the Senate and Gubernatorial races in Pennsylvania. (Photo by Aaron P. Bernstein/Getty Images)

Full Hour | In today's third hour, Dom welcomes Beth Ann Rosica, Executive Director of Back to School PA PAC, back onto the Dom Giordano Program to discuss the push by progressive school officials to bring masks back to public classrooms. First, Dom asks Rosica for more information, telling Giordano that she has done some research and discovered that masking is still required in Philadelphia schools, which is an underreported fact. Dom is shocked to hear this, with Rosica clarifying that students are not allowed to go to school if they refuse to wear a mask. Then, Giordano and Rosica discuss other schools throughout the States and whether the majority of schools are still enforcing mask-wearing, with Rosica telling what she's heard from parents around the State. Then, after playing Dom's Money Melody, Dom offers up a couple different nation-wide stories, playing back a clip from Pete Buttigieg today that suggested that high gas prices are good for the sole fact that electric vehicle owners remain unaffected, encouraging people to buy electric. Then, Giordano loops back to local news, offering a review and recap of a press conference held today by Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney, in which he remarkably noted that he's never met with any victim's families.
Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney says he sick of it and can't wait to not be mayor, meanwhile State Senator Tiara Mack is putting on a twerk show for votes. Bette Midler and Macy Gray in hot water over some controversial comments directed towards the transgender community. In our reality tv round-up, we explore the explosive Real Housewife of Beverly Hills beef. How would you react to a friend cursing at your child? This podcast is powered by Pinecast.
On this Wednesday edition of Bernie & Sid in the Morning, Bernard is joined again by the owner of Red Apple Media and fellow 77 WABC Radio Host John Catsimatidis as Sid Rosenberg's fill-in. The guys cover all the biggest news stories of the day, including the continued detainment of WNBA star Brittney Griner in Russia. Griner has been held in Russia for just over four months at this point, and the Biden administration has done virtually nothing to resolve the issue and bring the star athlete home to America. A far cry from what former President Trump would've done to help the estranged Griner, as John and Bernie point out. In other news of the day, local police in the Highland Park area have revealed prior run-ins with the shooter who massacred a 4th of July parade in Highland Park on Monday, the left once again doing what they do best and politicizing the issue to make it all about gun control, the ongoing disaster at our southern border is now officially being considered an "invasion" despite Alejandro Mayorkas saying we're doing a "good job," White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre may be the dullest human being to ever hold the position, Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney says out loud that he can't wait until his term is over, and Liz Cheney teases a run for President in 2024. Full Hour | In today's second hour, Dom welcomes John McNesby, President of the Philadelphia FOP, back onto the Dom Giordano Program to get his and the Union's perspective on the horrific incident that left two officers shot on the Parkway during the July 4th fireworks. First, McNesby tells that the reward for information has been doubled, moving from $20,000 to $40,000, with McNesby suggesting that soon that should be up to $50,000. John gives Dom an update on the officers, telling that they're thankful to be in stable condition. Dom asks whether McNesby believes the theory that the bullets came from celebratory shots, with McNesby suggesting that it's very strange that the only two people hit were people in uniform. In addition, McNesby offers his thoughts on the change of tone on policing by City Council, and tells how he hopes things can improve for the City. Then, Dom asks producer Dan whether he's a fan of the WNBA, and tells of the situation involving an imprisoned Brittney Griner, who's been in a Russian jail for months. Dom plays back a clip from Al Sharpton, who demands that the Biden administration get her a clergy visit so he can go over to Russia to see how things are first hand, and also asks for Biden to demand a release. Giordano tells, though, that Russia is demanding a trade for a horrific individual, so he can't bring himself to support the effort. Then, Giordano moves back into local politics as Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney takes the stage for a press conference after telling the City he no longer wanted to be Mayor earlier in the week. (Photo by Mark Makela/Getty Images)
In today's final hour, Giordano leads off by playing back the questioning portion of Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney's press conference. Kenney faces tough questions from reporters after exclaiming after a horrific July 4th incident that he no longer wants to be Mayor. The Mayor renounces the statement, explaining his love for the city, but refuses to take any accountability for his role in the heightened violence in the city. Mayor Kenney doubles down on guns, and scoffs when reporters ask about suggestions made by council members including President Darrell Clarke and Councilwoman Cherelle Parker, who had a phone conversation with the Mayor. Then, Dom welcomes in the aforementioned Councilwoman Cherelle Parker, who tells about the phone call she had with Mayor Jim Kenney following comments he made about no longer wanting to be Mayor, telling that she and other Councilmembers see a real problem here when it comes to safety and policing. In a press conference yesterday, Parker and other members of Council pushed forward a multi-point plan suggesting changes to policing, including a return of a constitutionally-friendly version of Stop and Frisk and the hard prosecution of illegal firearms. Parker tells what she hopes to see change in the City, and explains who she believes is behind the relentless push for radical reformation that has led us down this path. Full Hour | Today, Dom Giordano led off the Dom Giordano Program by telling of an effort by some Pennsylvania Republicans to denounce gubernatorial candidate Doug Mastriano, expressing their support for Democratic nominee Josh Shapiro. Dom takes issue with this, expressing his disappointment in the conservative candidate, but warns of the negative implications of a Shapiro governorship. Then, Dom recaps the National Education Association Convention, telling of the topics discussed, bleakly revealing large support for mandatory masks and COVID vaccines. Also, Giordano offers updates centered on Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney, after he said he no longer wants to be the city's Mayor after a tragic incident on the Parkway during July 4th fireworks. Then, Brad Thor, author of the just released Rising Tiger, the newest book in the Scott Harvath series, returns to the Dom Giordano Program to tell Dom and listeners about his new book. First, Dom asks Thor about the setting of the new novel, asking why he chose to set it in India, with Thor taking Dom deep into the geopolitics of the region and how they play into the story. Then, Giordano compliments Thor for his ability to continue keeping things fresh after 21 books, complimenting the addition of a new love interest and asking Thor how he continues to transform his stories. Hour 1 of The Dawn Stensland Show: During Fourth of July celebrations near the Benjamin Franklin Parkway, a gunman shot two police officers—investigators are attempting to determine who is responsible for the attack and whether it was targeted. Thankfully, both police officers are doing well and have already been released from the hospital. Following his controversial remarks about looking forward to the end of his term, Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney spoke with NBC10's Miguel Martinez-Valle—clarifying his remarks and expressing regret for letting his emotions get the best of him immediately following the Fourth of July shooting. During his interview with NBC10, Mayor Kenney implored the country to do something to curb gun violence and end the prevalence of guns. Kenney dismissed calls for his resignation and claimed that the vast majority of Philadelphians still support him. City Councilmember Cherelle Parker referred to Mayor Kenney's July 4th shooting remarks as “asinine.” The Philadelphia Inquirer reported that Parker went on to say: “None of our stress is heavier than the people who are altering their lives on a daily basis.” Listeners react to Mayor Kenney's comments. If he is frustrated about Philadelphia shootings, how does he think city residents feel? Will Philadelphia tourism suffer due to the city's ongoing struggle with gun violence? Some small business owners are concerned. On Tuesday, New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy signed seven bills into law. Referred to as “Gun Safety Package 3.0," the laws are designed to restrict irresponsible gun ownership—specifically cracking down on ghost guns, banning .50 caliber rifles, and requiring gun buyers to complete a firearm arm safety course before taking possession of their weapon.

Thankfully, both police officers are doing well and have already been released from the hospital. Following the shooting, Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney told reporters that he is looking forward to no longer being mayor, explaining he never enjoys events in the city and, instead, simply worries about tragedies that could potentially befall the city. While speaking with reporters, Mayor Jim Kenney blamed the prevalence of guns nationally for the unmitigated violence in Philadelphia. President of Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #5 John McNesby condemned Mayor Kenney for his comments following the Benjamin Franklin Parkway shooting on July 4th. According to 6ABC, a man was shot at 200 Market Street in Philadelphia on the July 4th holiday. Police believe the shooting was the result of a verbal altercation between two drivers.
Hour 1 of The Dawn Stensland Show: Local News Headlines/News Rundown On Tuesday, the Delaware Senate passed legislation which would outlaw firearm magazines holding more than 17 bullets. The bill was passed on a 13 to 7 vote—receiving no Republican support. While visiting South Street in the aftermath of Saturday evening’s shooting, Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney said the city is doing everything in its power to limit gun violence. When asked by a reporter if city administrators were doing “everything right”, Kenney curtly responded by questioning if the reporter does everything right? Legendary CBS3 reporter Trudy Haynes has passed away at age 95. In 1965, Haynes became the first Black TV reporter in Philadelphia. Uvalde teacher Arnulfo Reyes spoke with ABC News, expressing his anger and disappointment over how police onsite handled the mass shooting at Robb Elementary School. All eleven students in Reyes’ classroom were killed.

Full Hour | Today, Dom led off the Dom Giordano Program by discussing the reversal of course by Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney and public health officials, as the city rolled back the mask mandate they enacted only 4 days prior. Giordano tells about an interview Mayor Kenney had with the Washington Post, playing back clips, including one in which Mayor Kenney argued that the masking issue is political because Americans have become selfish. Then, Giordano delves into a discussion centered on the gubernatorial primary in Pennsylvania, telling why the race is so important, and explaining a new beef he's uncovered with candidate Doug Mastriano, who Giordano is having trouble supporting. Then, Vince Feldman, board member of Pennsylvania's chapter of Children Health Defense, joins the Dom Giordano Program to discuss the support that his group has seen in a push against masking mandates in Philadelphia. Last week, Philadelphia's Mayor Jim Kenney announced that, due to hospitalizations, Philadelphia would be the first American city to return to a mask mandate. After about 4 days of the mandate being implemented, Mayor Kenney reversed course on the decision, taking away the mandate and instead ‘highly recommending' masks. Giordano asks Feldman why he thinks Kenney reversed course so fast, with Feldman explaining the public backlash to the decision, telling of a societal fatigue he's started to feel over masking. Also, Feldman explains what his organization hopes to do, and tells listeners where they can go to learn more, and tells of a House Bill that offers a constitutional right for medical freedom. John McNesby, FOP Lodge 5 President rejoins the Dom Giordano Program to discuss the decision by Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney to end the residency requirement for Philadelphia police recruiting. Up until today, for the past 2 years, Philadelphia police has been unable to hire any officers who haven't spent 6 months living in the city prior to employment. McNesby explains how this happened, and tells what it means for recruiting in the city, telling that this reopens a huge pool of candidates, allowing recruitment to resume at both colleges and military bases. Also, McNesby comments on the horrible situation that led to the shooting of a SEPTA police officer in the Frankford section of the city. (Photo by Aaron P. Bernstein/Getty Images)
Full Hour | In today's second hour, Dom leads off the Dom Giordano Program by discussing the student loan debacle after the Biden administration decided to extend the pause on federal student loan payments until August 31st. Giordano tells why he believes this to be a purely political move, noting the end date of the payments and the importance the issue will play in the midterms. This launches a conversation between Dom and his producer Dan, with both wondering why Democrats continue to turn a blind eye to the lofty tuition rates set by colleges. Then, Giordano, when promoting today's Krasnerland on Facebook, discusses the potential solutions to the havoc that Krasner has brought into Philadelphia, lamenting that it's now been close to 90 days since State Senator Jake Corman called for an impeachment of the DA. Then, John McNesby, FOP Lodge 5 President rejoins the Dom Giordano Program to discuss the decision by Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney to end the residency requirement for Philadelphia police recruiting. Full Hour | Today, Dom led off the Dom Giordano Program by recapping today's press conference held by Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney which offered a new tiered system to dig the city out of the Coronavirus pandemic. First, Giordano plays back some clips from the press conference, including a sound bite in which Jim Kenney tried arguing that had he listened to restauranteurs, at least 2,000 more people would have died. Then, Dom notices that throughout the press conference, Kenney stresses the importance of ‘following the rules' concerning Coronavirus, which sets him off, asking why Kenney won't follow his own words of advice when dealing with crime as we continue to see record-setting numbers. Then, Giordano takes umbrage with a suggestion by gubernatorial candidate Bill McSwain concerning Larry Krasner, telling why he believes the strategy employed by McSwain, which would restructure how the District Attorney is instated, won't hold as much weight as a potential impeachment. Full Hour | In today's third hour, Col. Allen B. West returns to the Dom Giordano Program to discuss both the political climate in Texas and the situation unfolding between Russia and Ukraine. First, Giordano asks West, a Republican candidate for Texas governor, about the Democratic front-runner in the gubernatorial race, Beto O'Rourke, and the message sent by Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, telling that it is ‘inevitable' that Texas turns blue. Then, after playing today's Money Melody, Giordano circles back to Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney's press conference held today, in which he told people to just ‘wear their damn mask,' passed blame toward Florida and Texas, and alleged that his decision to counter Philadelphia restaurateur calls to open early saved lives. Finally, Dom circles back to the main topic of the previous hour, discussing the legality and safety of Kratom, after a local township opened a CBD Kratom dispensary only a block away from a middle school. Pennsylvania State Representative Martina White joins the Dom Goirdano Program to lead off the third hour to respond to a press conference held earlier today, in which Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney tried passing off the blame of heightened crime and gun violence onto state Republicans. White tells why she counters Mayor Kenney's words, explaining the problems that are rife within the city of Philadelphia. Also, Martina reveals to Giordano that she did not receive an invite to the press conference, and explains that state Republicans are willing to work with Philadelphia politicians. On today's episode, with Matt, we first discuss the recent restrictions mandated by the Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney. We quickly come to the agreement that these restrictions mirror a lock down. We then each present arguments of the pros and cons of a lockdown. We dive into why these restrictions have been mandated as well as the lack of transparency there is regarding where the virus spreads. THOU SHALT NOT KILL!So say the scriptures and so say I, don't you? The thou means you, my fellow American. And the thou means me, everybody! Nobody should kill, NOBODY!No matter, violence, including killing or the ever-present possibility thereof, runs rampant in America. The George Floyd era has unleashed a license in behavior, allowing if not condoning violence and that violence can well include: MURDER – KILLING!I for one despise violence of any kind, physical or verbal for that matter. I could never, ever kill another human being even if my own life was at stake, could you? I know well the arguments of defending family, friends and especially children. But I could not do that with guns and knives. I take the biblical admonitions seriously and for me, there has to be another way. What do you think, how do you act, and how do you live? But violence seems commonplace in some parts of America, expected, killing happening often with impunity. In a recent weekend, nine human beings were killed in Chicago, NINE! Four of those nine, African American, were children, innocent children. No one it seems outside of that Chicago neighborhood, Austin west of Chicago, seems to care. The country is obsessed with the killing of George Floyd but could care less about the killing of four, four innocent children in a suburb of Chicago. Three year old Mekhi James, an African American child living in Austin – Chicago, Illinois was shot in the back, killed when someone fired several rounds into the SUV his father was driving. Three years old! Where is the outrage, and where is the proactive response of Chicago's Mayor, an American herself, African American and female. Where is the response, the caring, and the promise of justice for those four children and the five adults killed with them that weekend. WHERE IS IT? Two hours after Mekhi James was brutally murdered, that same weekend, Amaria Jones, 13 years of age was fatally shot in the neck as she sat, get this clearly now: INSIDE HER HOME!Thirteen years old, dead and gone and does anybody care about Amaria J. Jones, anybody, including Chicago's African American Mayor. Does anybody care and will anybody do anything about it?Then killed was Jasean Francis 17 years old, a resident of Austin – Chicago, innocent but slaughtered by butchers, murderers who could care less about the biblical commandment: THOU SHALL NOT KILL!Five adults were killed in addition to the children. Violence, killing, black killing black and does anybody care, ANYBODY? I do and I have asked my Chicago stations to do something about it. ACTION NOT WORDS. All those lives matter, they matter every bit as much as George Floyd, brutally murdered in Minneapolis, Minnesota and they matter every bit as much as the killing of Rayshard Brooks in Atlanta. Floyd and Brooks were shot and killed by police officers and Mekhi James was shot and killed by black criminals, thugs, hoodlums, killers and murderers, the bottom line is the same. Floyd and Brooks could and should be alive, but so should four young African American children as well. THEY SHOULD BE ALIVE! Does anybody care, ANYBODY about these four innocent black children murdered in Austin – Chicago? In Philadelphia, the so called city of Brotherly Love (now vandals and hoodlums), gangs of rioters rolled through several neighborhoods burning businesses and cars. There was only a tepid, lackluster response from the Philadelphia Police Department as so many minorities vandalized, and violently destroyed the property of good people including any number of businesses owned by minorities. Many wondered why there was not a more aggressive response from Philadelphia Police Commissioner Danielle Outlaw herself an African American as so many violently vandalized. Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney, a considerable liberal Democrat sheepishly condemned the violence on the one hand, but immediately seriously questioned the use of his police force to stem the violence with non–lethal tear gas. Every liberal politician must toe the line, the party line, condemning the police and police forces even though the vast majority of those civil servants are good men and women, concerned with the rule of law and determined to uphold the law and to prevent violence. They get lost in the shuffle by these radical police condemnations. These, my fellow law abiding Americans, are frightening days in our beloved country and the rule of law has never been more disrespected or ignored. Scary times indeed for we the people who love America, believe in our Constitution and the rule of law and even as we LOVE OUR COUNTRY: WE DESPISE VIOLENCE AND KILLING!We believe firmly and unequivocally that any civilized person, and especially any person of faith lives by the biblical admonition: THOU SHALL NOT KILL! New York City releases criminals charged as such without bail. The city also releases convicted prisoners because of CORONA. For the first three weeks of June, New York City, the five boroughs thereof, witnessed: 125 SHOOTING INCIDENTS.ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY–FIVE!Mayor de Blasio self-righteously proclaimed: “We are not going to allow gun violence to continue to grow in this city.”Talk, nothing but talk because the talk was backed by no action of any kind, virtually none. The Mayor declared the shootings, the killings and the violence a “troubling trend,” and then went back to his usual liberal, progressive, non–support of the New York Police Department. And the violence and the killings continue! In downtown St. Louis, four police officers were shot by “some coward randomly shooting at police lines,” said Police Chief John Hayden. To add insult to injury, now comes Black Lives Matter and they demand this great city change its name because St. Louis somehow someway has some kind of racist history attached. What a world, WHAT A PLACE AMERICA HAS BECOME as the rule of law crumbles in so many locations. And the violence continues. VIOLENCE BEGETS MORE VIOLENCE! Radical groups like ANTIFA exploit violent opportunities. These groups foster protest which may start peacefully but invariably end up violently. The VIOLENT know that so much of the resistance is mere talk. Presumptive Democratic Presidential candidate Joe Biden gave a 20–minute speech in Philadelphia on the topic of: SYSTEMIC RACISM.Whatever that is. Biden devoted all of 20 or so seconds to the violence stating that:“There is no place (no place?) for looting or destroying property or burning churches or destroying businesses, many of them built by the very people of color who for the first time in their lives are beginning to realize their dreams and build wealth for their families.”End of Biden response. No recommended action. No support of the local Police Departments, or the National Guard or any other FIRST RESPONDERS who risk lives to protect and defend. NOTHING! More talk, and little more than a further contribution to the sense of license for the violent, and seemingly fostering the notion that in this Floyd – Brooks era: ANYTHING GOES. If Biden happens to be elected President of our country, watch out for law and order. John Wood Jr., a national leader of BRAVER ANGELS notes the so called boiling over of minority pain and the violence which accompanies alleged remedies for that pain and he, a 33 year old biracial African American with a white father and a black mother asks the following question:“The pain is real. But so is the progress that our ancestors (African Americans) fought for and realized. Do we conserve and build on it in search of Martin Luther King Jr.'s beloved community? Or do we reject an American project for which our own people have sacrificed so much?”This is indeed the real issue for all African Americans. It is a conversation, a critical conversation as Wood Jr. states that all black Americans must address. Perhaps, Wood Jr. wonders, right thinking, law abiding, peace loving Americans of all colors would be more turned off by the violence and the illegal activities than they would the recognition of anything really racist or anti–African American. I believe that the vast majority of African Americans are good, law abiding citizens, so many strong people of faith and determined to effectuate any necessary change by peaceful means, by dialogue, with discussion and with mutual respect one for another and for ALL people no matter the color. They are the ones that must stand up, start and pursue the peaceful dialogue for change and condemn, PASSIONATELY CONDEMN the violence, the killings of any kind! Without that, America is doomed to civil disobedience and unrest perhaps forever. The common concern seems to be: SYSTEMIC RACISM.But I ask the following questions: WHAT EXACTLY IS SYSTEMIC RACISM? WHO IS GUILTY OF THE PRACTICE? HOW IS THIS PERPETUATED? WHAT ARE ACTUAL, PRACTICAL, ACHIEVABLE REMEDIES?There is no racism, systemic or otherwise in my life, in my company. I know of no racist in my family or among my friends, none whatsoever. If there were such an one, I would confront him or her, demand change or move on from that individual. There is not one tiny bit of racism in my company, the Crawford Broadcasting Company, anywhere by anyone. If there were, I would deal with it and eradicate it overnight. If any employee of this company committed any kind of racist act, I would terminate that employee immediately without a second chance. You may find it interesting that 52% of the employees of the Crawford Broadcasting Company are so called minorities, 41% of whom are: AFRICAN AMERICANS!That was not planned, nor was it forced upon us (affirmative action). These were the right people for the right jobs at the right time with the right skills and the right attitudes and the right determinations to be successful and to achieve THE AMERICAN DREAM! What a pleasure it is for me to know and work with them.Racism surely exists and where it does, it must be dealt with as forcefully as possible. It is wrong, DEAD WRONG! It is hate at work and that has no place in America or anywhere. There are racists of all colors, red, yellow, brown, white and black. Whoever is racist, no matter the color of the skin, he or she is wrong, DEAD WRONG! All men and women are created equal, creations and creatures of God Almighty and none are better than any other, different perhaps but NOT BETTER! Only men and women of goodwill can solve the problem of racism. Violence never will. Violence will worsen racism. And, in the final analysis, there really is only one, ONLY ONE who can bring peace and goodwill to mankind and ONLY ONE who can end racism. That man was a CARPENTER FROM NAZARETH. That man was Jesus the Christ whose birth 2,000 years ago was intended as a gift to mankind for PEACE AND GOODWILL. The rule of love he would bring is the only real and permanent solution to racism. That divine help is available even now if we ask. So, ask HIM for his help, and now. And then, go to work and do what you can do to end racism, and effectuate peace and goodwill for all. At the bottom line, my fellow Americans: BY THEIR FRUITS YE SHALL KNOW THEM!
We’re back in record territory when it comes to new COVID-19 cases. New cases are rising in 27 states with Texas, California, Arizona, and Florida showing some the most alarming increases. The enormous Texas Medical Center in Houston reached 100% capacity yesterday. The CDC now says that more than 20 million Americans could have contracted the virus - 10 times more than the official counts. Unlike the initial explosion of COVID-19 cases that saw older Americans accounting for most cases, younger people in their 20s, 30s, and 40s The Voice of America is now Trump Radio. Jamaal Bowman ousts Warhawk, Eliot Engle, in the Democratic Party Primary in New York’s 16th district which spans parts of the Bronx and Westchester County. Bowman won the nomination by 25 points. In another huge exclamation point in growing progressive power in the Democratic Party, AOC blew out her corporate-backed challenger in New York’s 14th district by 51 points. 70% v. Michelle Caruso-Cabrera’s 19%. AOC took to Twitter following her victory to say: “Wall Street CEOs, from Goldman Sachs to Blackstone, poured in millions to defeat our grassroots campaign tonight. But their money couldn’t buy a movement. Thank you #NY14, and every person who pitched in for tonight’s victory. Here’s to speaking truth to power.” Charles Booker pulls ahead of Amy McGrath in the fight for the Democratic Party nomination to challenge Mitch McConnell in the Kentucky Senate race. In New York’s 17th district, Mondaire Jones looks to be heading to Washington after blowing out a three-way race for the Democratic Party nomination. If his twenty-point lead holds, he’ll be one of the first openly gay black men in Congress. Tik Tok and KPop help sink Trump’s great hope of sell-out crowds in Tulsa. Bad news for Devin Nunes. A judge rules that he can’t sue Twitter because fake cow hurt his fufus on the platform. That’s a win for Devin Nunes’s Cow and Devin Nunes’s Mom. There’s a giant dust cloud racing across the Atlantic. I bet none of you had that on your 2020 bingo card? And...here we go...My Little Pony fans are kicking out the white supremacists from their fan pages. Yes. That My Little Pony. New York Times releases a damning video that reconstructs the I-676 tear gassing and toruture the Philadelphia Police unleashed on protesters on June 1st. The Philadelphia Police Department and the City of Philadelphia’s statements on the incident were discredited the day following the event, but the city and the police department drug their feet for 24 days before apologizing and banning the use of tear gas. Mayor Kenney and Commissioner Outlaw were hoping that an internal investigation would have kept this in the dark. Move over Bill De Blasio, Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney still thinks his political career has any relevance. He launched a statewide PAC that are leading many to believe that he’s gearing up for a 2022 run at the Governor’s seat. Christopher Columbus statue in Marconi Plaza in Philly is coming down because the people defending the statue caused so much bullshit attacking black lives matter protesters that the city is removing it. In a PA Grand Jury report released yesterday slams the PA Department of Environmental Protection for failing to protect people from the effects of fracking. The grand jury said the natural gas industry should bear the expense and risk of fracking, but the DEP “did not take sufficient action in response to the fracking boom.” PA Stands Up held its 5th The Crisis and The Opportunity Virtual Forum last night featuring Shanna Danielson, Nikil Saval, Summer Lee, Elizabeth Fiedler, and Sara Innamorato. I got to listen in to most of the discussion. It was a great space and you can watch the recording at PA Stands Up Facebook page. The State Senate passed on Wednesday a major plan that clears the way for the restructuring of the PA State System of Higher Education. The plan will give more power to the Board of Governors and the Chancellor to consolidate schools, eliminate programs, turn existing schools into branch campuses, create new schools, and share administrative services. And speaking of PASSHE, the state-owned universities are rolling out their “return-to-campus plans” this week. Kutztown University’s COVID-19 Public Relations campaign - I mean “Fall 2020 Planning COVID-19 Response” plan - is just loaded with goodies. Students will be required to come up with their own “Safety Plan;” students working in dorms as Community Assistants will now be responsible for the “emotional wellbeing, physical health, and social support,” of students living in their newly establish “KU Family Pod Area” (can’t make this shit up); students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to report suspicious COVID-like behavior to the administration; and, the university will use the pandemic as cover to increase the use of online teaching “even after the current COVID-19 crisis has abated.” NASA names its headquarters after Mary Jackson, the first black woman engineer. You might remember her as one the three leads in the film Hidden Figures. I’m on to the second book in Octavia Butler’s Earthseed series: The Parable of the Talents, published in 1998. It was more than freaky that Parable of the Talents takes place during the rise of a right-wing zealot - Senator Jarret from Texas - who whips up racism and promise to “make America great again.” I mean...those exact words. It was Father’s Day this past weekend which means I got a chance to sample some awesome beer. The highlights from Free Will included the AMAZING Wild Blueberry Cobbler Mash and of course one of my favorites, Safeword. Free Will also came out with a new release this week: Walk Awhile With Me - English style Pub Ale brewed with a base of Maris Otter and a bit of Crystal malt, hopped with Golding and Chinook. Notes of crispy toffee, biscuit, and herbs of the earth. 4.2% ABV I was also gifted two crowler’s from McAllister Brewing Company based in North Wales - Mandated Introvert, an “IPA Sour” and Shovel Buddy, a really nice New England IPA.
Trump threatens to call out the military to suppress protests demanding justice for George Floyd and an end to run-away police violence. In a speech from the Rose Garden, Trump called protesters “terrorists.” In a call to the nation’s Governors, Trump urged them to crack down hard on protesters. In a surprise move, Trump told journalists that he has put U.S. Army General Mark Milley “in charge” of ending the protests. Former Defense Secretary General Jim Mattis - the guy that Trump used to love to call “Mad Dog” to boost his testosterone levels - issued a scathing rebuke of Trump’s desire to call out the military to “dominate” protesters. Mattis wrote, "Never did I dream that troops taking that same oath would be ordered under any circumstance to violate the Constitutional rights of their fellow citizens —much less to provide a bizarre photo op for the elected commander-in-chief, with military leadership standing alongside." George Bush came out after Trump this week. He beat Nancy Pelosi to the punch. Why? Oh, yeah, the Democrats are on vacation. Los Angeles mayor, Eric Garcetti, announced that the Los Angeles Police Department will see a budget cut between $100 and $150 million instead of an increase. The money from the LAPD cuts will be invested in communities of color instead. The city will invest in “jobs, education, and healing,” according to Mayor Garcetti. Dr. Anthony Fauci, the most prominent member of the White House COVID-19 task force, told the American Medical Association that the U.S. should have 100 million doses of coronavirus vaccine by the beginning of 2021. Protests to end police violence and systemic racism exploded across the state. Hundreds of people marched through small towns like Souderton, PA and thousands flooded the streets in Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, and other larger cities across the Commonwealth. This week showed that pigs can actually fly. Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney took down the 2000 lb Frank Rizzo statue. In a huge win for Philadelphia progressive activists, Nikil Saval defeated Democratic Party establishment-backed candidate Larry Farnese in the primary for Pennsylvania’s First Senate District. Nikil Saval is the cofounder of Reclaim Philadelphia, a community activist, a DSA member, and an editor for N+1. Saval ran a campaign right out of the Bernie Sanders campaign platform and is now looking at a double-digit win of Farnese who has held the seat since 2009. Bernie Sanders pulled in 20% of the vote in Pennsylvania. But Nikil Saval was not the only big news. It looks like six other incumbents were shown their walking papers in Tuesday’s Primaries. Daylin Leach is behind by nearly twenty points to Amanda Cappelletti, a candidate endorsed by Elizabeth Warren. Summer Lee crushes her primary opponent Chris Roland by a 75-25 margin. It looks like the building trades owes Summer an apology for wasting over a hundred thousand dollars to run someone against her out of spite. Progressive Emily Kinkead looks like she is going to oust conservative Democrat Adam Ravenstahl in House District 20 in the Pittsburgh area. Ravenstahl has frequently voted with conservative Republicans, especially when it comes to restricting women’s access to abortion and necessary medical care. Rick Krajewski, a West Philadelphia organizer, is narrowly ahead of Jim Roebuck in PA House District 188. Roebuck has held the seat since 1985. Krajewski was backed by Bernie Sanders, the PA Chapter of the National Organization for Women, National DSA, Sunrise Philadelphia, and the AFT Local 2026 among a long list of endorsers. And as of today, all counties in Pennsylvania have moved into either the Green Phase or the Yellow Phase. Berks, Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Lackawanna, Lancaster, Lehigh, Northampton, Montgomery, and Philadelphia Counties were the last counties to remain in the Red Phase. They move to Yellow today. Whitey’s on the Moon...OK, not the Moon, but the International Space Station. SpaceX and NASA successfully launched two astronauts to the ISS from Florida’s Kennedy Space Center last Saturday. It was the first crewed launch from U.S. soil since the Obama administration scrapped the Space Shuttle program in 2009. The fact the launch took place during some of the biggest civil rights uprisings in nearly a century has us relistening to some Gil Scott-Heron. Looks like the whole 2024 Moon settlement plan hit a bit of a setback as SpaceX’s Starship Prototype exploded during a static-fire test of the massive rocket’s engines. The Menzingers just released a new song, America Pt. 2. All proceeds from the song go to community bail funds. You can listen to and buy the song at bandcamp.com. And, while we’re at it, Bob Mould just released a new song called “American Crisis.” It show that the anger from Gen X runs deep. Thanks to my friend Stu Ross for sending me that. Free Will Brewing is opening up outdoor seating at their main Perkasie location and at Peddler’s Village tomorrow, Saturday, June 6. They had to push back today’s opening due to storms and flood warnings. They are turning a field next to the brewery into a beer garden with a pop-up bar, bathrooms, and sanitizing stations, in addition to our usual front yard space and courtyard. Free Will also has a new release for the first time in a while. This one is a collab with Imprint Beer Company. It’s the Strawberry Lemonade Radfahrer - They took their Cream Ale base and mixed it with some slightly tart lemonade before a hefty addition of strawberry purée to top the whole thing off. 3.9% ABV.

“Donald Trump and Jeff Sessions are going to have a hard time getting into Heaven,” said Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney. “God is not going to be happy and she’s going to send them to someplace warm.” The Democrat’s comments on immigration join an expanding chorus of bipartisan outrage and disapproval which span the political gamut. Mayor Kenney was a guest on Inside Story on 6abc (Sunday, March 18) to defend his tax hike plan to fund public schools. We had some extra questions for the mayor, including if the city is fighting the opioid epidemic the right way, where the Rizzo statue is going, if Kenney is thinking about re-election and whether the Eagles' Super Bowl win will truly change Philadelphia culture.
