In today's episode of Life Talks with Lauren, I'm sharing something deeply personal and incredibly unexpected: a few months ago, I found out I was pregnant—after years of believing that having biological children just wasn't in the cards for me. This episode walks you through the moment everything changed, what it felt like to receive news I had quietly given up on, and how Z and I navigated sharing this surprise with our families. I open up about what it was like meeting each other's loved ones, revealing our good news, and experiencing the warmth, support, and beautiful chaos that came with it. I'm also getting real about the not-so-glamorous side of pregnancy: • the fears and anxieties that hit me the second the reality sank in • the doubts that come with stepping into a role I never thought I'd have • the physical symptoms that have knocked me off my routine • the mental and emotional roller coaster of accepting a brand-new version of my future Most importantly, I'm talking about how I plan to move through this season with grace, honesty, vulnerability—and a whole lot of self-compassion. This isn't just a story about pregnancy; it's about surrendering, trusting yourself, and finding strength in the middle of uncertainty. If you've ever faced a life change you didn't see coming, or questioned whether you were ready for the next chapter life handed you, this episode is for you.

Scrubs and Subpoenas: Documentation Dilemmas - Plot TwistSUMMARY: Scrubs and Subpoenas: Documentation Dilemmas is a podcast bundle that explores the critical role of documentation in healthcare and its impact on patient safety and malpractice claims. Through real-life stories of medical errors and malpractice cases, this series provides insights into the consequences of inadequate documentation and the steps needed to improve practices. Each episode serves as a cautionary tale and a guide to fostering a culture of accountability, empathy, and excellence in healthcare. A brief stay in a county correctional facility led to the sudden and mysterious death of a young inmate. While many questions around this fatality remain unanswered, solid documentation by attending nursing staff was a strong defense in court. In this episode, Dr. Sally K. Miller recounts her expert testimony from this emotionally charged case, including pushback from an unqualified consulting physician and uncertainty around a definitive cause of death. Listen in to learn how important the little details are when interacting with federal entities and patients in mental health crisis. ---Nurses may be able to complete an accredited CE activity featuring content from this podcast and earn CE hours provided from Elite Learning by Colibri Healthcare. There are so many times as teachers when we realize we're the ones doing all the heavy lifting during our lessons—talking, thinking, and writing—while our students sit back and watch. If that sounds familiar, you're not alone. Student engagement isn't something that happens automatically, even with a great lesson plan. In this episode, I'm unpacking what it really means to plan for engagement and why it's essential to build intentional opportunities for students to think, respond, and connect throughout every lesson.I share a handful of simple engagement routines that can transform the way your students interact with your lessons. These routines—like the classic think-pair-share, agree/disagree statements, two-sentence responses, and three-two-one reflections—don't require fancy materials or major prep. Instead, they're flexible structures that you can use in any subject to spark thinking, encourage participation, and give every student a voice in your classroom.By the end of this episode, you'll see how easy it can be to plan for engagement and keep your students actively involved all lesson long. My challenge for you this week is to choose one engagement routine and try it out. Start small, stay intentional, and watch how your students' focus, confidence, and comprehension grow. Click play to discover how small, intentional changes can make a big difference in how your students show up and engage during lessons.Join us in the Stellar Literacy Collective Membership: stellarteacher.com/join!Sign up for my FREE private podcast, the Confident Writer Systems Series, here!Sign up for my FREE Revision Made Easy email series here!Follow me on Instagram @thestellarteachercompany. I feel honoured to share this third conversation with Jannine Gearon who I interviewed before in May and June this year. Jannine lives with cholangiocarcinoma (bile duct cancer) - a rare and aggressive cancer with very confronting statistics. In our previous two episodes, she bravely shared her journey, including her decision to explore voluntary assisted dying (VAD) as a way of reclaiming a sense of choice amidst pain and uncertainty. Today, there's a plot twist. A newly available targeted drug, found by her sister at what felt like the literal 11th hour, has begun changing the trajectory of her disease. Her latest scan and bloods show things are not progressing as expected - in the best possible way. As Jannine says, “the cancer is not behaving as it should,” and her oncologist is now cautiously optimistic. May this episode entangle in the quantum field with the exact people who are meant to hear it, and create beautiful ripples in your life and the lives of those you love.
In this episode, we break down The Sixth Sense — M. Night Shyamalan's psychological thriller that delivered one of the most iconic twists in movie history. We explore how the film subtly reveals its ending without giving it away, analyze the performances of Bruce Willis and Haley Joel Osment, and discuss how Shyamalan's direction and symbolism create an atmosphere of mystery and emotion. From the red color motif to the haunting tone, we uncover how The Sixth Sense uses misdirection and emotion to tell a story that's both chilling and heartbreaking. Success Is a test that will tempt you to forget everything you learned in the school of hard knocks. Success is a test that will threatened who you have become and challenge you whether life's lessons created within you superficial change or lasting transformation. Quite literally, success can cause you to forget who you are. Pastor Austin challenges us in this sermon… How do we react when things are going well? How did Joesph react?

In this episode of She Wolf Alchemy, Ress takes us on a deep dive into the quiet prisons we build in the name of safety. She unpacks how survival mode can trick us into believing that control equals security ; when in truth, it often keeps us small, tense, and disconnected.Through real, relatable examples like overworking because we don't trust rest, being hyper-independent to avoid disappointment, or shutting down emotionally to feel safe, Ress invites listeners to pause and reflect: Are the structures in your life protecting you, or are they caging you? This conversation is both grounding and liberating . A reminder that emotional safety isn't found in rigid control, but in trust, softness, and connection. Ress challenges us to audit the personal “rules” we live by and to allow those structures to evolve as we do. She closes with a soulful call to action: Trust yourself. Let your life be a living, breathing structure .One that grows with you, not against you.

What others mean for evil, God can use for good. Joseph's story was a prime example of this. Every setback—the betrayal, the pit, the prison—was part of God's greater plan to save lives and fulfill His promises. Through Joseph, Israel, and even Egypt, God brought hope and redemption, turning pain into purpose. Just as He did at the cross, God still works in our darkest moments to bring about good.Watch more sermons from the Plot Twist series at https://crosstownalliance.com/plottwist/ABOUT THIS SERIESBetrayed. In this episode full of so much amazing advice, I also share yet *another* career change as the result of a major plot twist... and I also blame the powerful eclipse we had during this time, ha!Let me make one thing clear -- this does not mean that listening to my intuition, aka my Human Design Authority, as I spoke about in the last episode, was wrong. In fact, it's just the opposite because sometimes it's hard to follow your intuition.... especially when it's scary.... but if you know it IS your intuition speaking to you and not your fears, you'll push through the uncertainty to see all the amazing things on the other side! Let me know how you're doing and how eclipse season was for you! And as always, give me a follow on IG and follow the link in my profile or DM me in order to book a Human Design or Gene Keys session, or to discuss 1-1 coaching! Xoxo much love

Today we are starting a new sermon series called Plot Twist. We will follow Joseph's story and the last sections of Genesis.
God can change anyone. In Genesis 43, Judah goes from selling his brother to offering himself in his place, and Joseph chooses forgiveness over revenge. It's a powerful picture of how God's grace transforms hearts and restores what's broken. If He can change them, He can change anyone—including us.Watch more sermons from the Plot Twist series at https://crosstownalliance.com/plottwist/ABOUT THIS SERIESBetrayed. Sold. Accused. Forgotten. Months ago, Tod saw, and recommended Companion (2025), the Jack Quaid, Sophie Thatcher dark comedy that Google lists as as a “Horror, Thriller, Science Fiction, Romance.” On Rotten Tomatoes it comes in at 93%. On IMDB. It's a 6.9. Recently, Dave stumbled upon it and suggested Barry watch as well. To say “opinions vary” on this one is kind of an understatement. Apparently a lot of it comes down to the expectations you go in with … like if you've never read the introductory blurb, or seen the trailer, you might be surprised by something other than what the studio intended. Maybe you should also just watch. There's also the usual round of Random Topics and the debut of a new segment called Back in Time. Thanks for listening!
