Discipline can build your life—or quietly become the thing you hide behind. In this episode, we unpack the difference between discipline as healing and discipline as avoidance. Hosted by Sana on Healthy Mind, Healthy Life, this conversation is for anyone entering 2026 feeling both driven and exhausted. Guest Alex Duenas shares how strict childhood discipline shaped him, how a simple workout calendar became his lifeline, and why vision matters more than motivation. Together, they explore control vs. confidence, rest vs. identity, and how to reframe failure as feedback. About the Guest: Alex Duenas is a coach and entrepreneur who has been training consistently for nearly two decades. He shares lessons from building businesses, navigating setbacks, and using discipline to create purpose-driven habits. Key Takeaways: Use discipline to reduce instant gratification habits that create guilt and regret Anchor consistency to a clear “why” (vision) so habits don't rely on motivation Control what you can: your thoughts, your actions, and your daily inputs Reframe setbacks as “temporary defeat,” then extract the lesson immediately Create momentum with a small win (even 10–25 push-ups) to shift your state Lead yourself like someone others can follow: choices, routines, and standards How to Connect With the Guest: Instagram: TheAlexDuenas YouTube TikTok: TheAlexDuenas Want to be a guest on Healthy Mind, Healthy Life? What if your confidence didn't need to wait for proof—what if it's something you practice in the middle of uncertainty? In this episode, we unpack what it really takes to stay steady, self-assured, and mentally resilient while building a purpose-driven business. Hosted by Avik Chakraborty on Healthy Mind, Healthy Life, this conversation is for women founders (and anyone on a non-linear path) who feel self-doubt, external pressure, or the quiet need to “prove” their worth. Neli Kools shares how her journey—from architecture and urban planning to entrepreneurship—shaped her leadership, and why care, comfort, and dignity are deeply tied to women's confidence. About the Guest: Neli Kools is a global entrepreneur and co-founder of Intimate Queen, a purpose-driven lingerie and wellness brand focused on plant-based, comfort-first pieces designed for women's confidence and care. Key Takeaways: Treat confidence as a daily practice, not a reward you earn after success. Stop outsourcing your worth: focus on integrity, deliverables, and authenticity. When pressure rises, slow down—journal, meditate, and listen inward before deciding. Normalize non-linear growth: detours can widen vision and strengthen decision-making. Comfort impacts mindset: when the body feels supported, the mind feels lighter. Replace “prove yourself” with “trust yourself”—one step, one choice at a time. Creativity isn't a rare talent—it's a trainable process. In this episode, you'll hear a master creator break down what actually happens when inspiration hits, and how to build the conditions for it to return. On Healthy Mind, Healthy Life, host Sayan sits down with world-renowned theater artist and author Stan Lai to explore the difference between method (technique) and wisdom (meaning). This conversation is for artists, founders, professionals, and curious minds who want deeper focus, better ideas, and a more confident creative practice—without chasing external validation or forcing output. About the Guest: Stan Lai is a celebrated playwright and theater director with over 40 years of experience and more than 40 full-length plays staged, beginning in Taiwan and across China. His book Creativity has sold over a million copies in Chinese and is being used as the foundation for university-level creativity curriculum initiatives. Key Takeaways: Upgrade your creative results by separating technique (method) from meaning (wisdom). Use the “Where is the music?” test: impressive skill isn't the same as expressive depth. Build a richer inner library—your mind can only create from the “files” you collect. Treat inspiration as combination: the creative mind pulls different internal files and connects them fast. Protect nuance by slowing inputs (less scrolling, more deliberate attention). Find wisdom outside formal education—schools often teach method, not life-direction. What if recovery didn't have to mean pushing harder—or going under the needle? In this episode of Healthy Mind, Healthy Life, host Sayan explores how healing can become more intelligent, less invasive, and more aligned with the body's natural repair systems. Joining him is Dr. Tommy Rhee, who breaks down recovery vs. overtraining, why “push through pain” backfires, and how next-gen regenerative signaling may support longevity, mental resilience, and trust in the healing process—without aggressive intervention. About the Guest: Dr. Tommy Rhee is a sports chiropractor, author, and practitioner focused on cell-free regenerative medicine and performance recovery. He has experience spanning elite athletics, clinical work, and military service. Key Takeaways: Recovery is as essential as training—overtraining can drive chronic injury. “Aggressive recovery” can worsen compromised tissue; strategic rest matters. Regenerative medicine focuses on signals that support tissue repair. Non-invasive topical delivery may reduce risks tied to injections. Physical healing impacts mood and identity—mind, body, and purpose interact. Fasting may help some people reset habits, but approach it thoughtfully. When life strips away comfort, mindset stops being motivational talk and becomes a survival-grade discipline. In Healthy Mind, Healthy Life, host Sayan sits down with Branden LaNette to unpack mindset as lived practice: how trauma can hijack identity, why scrolling can keep people numb, and what it means to respond to reality with radical responsibility. This episode is for anyone who feels stuck between who they've been and who they're trying to become—and wants a practical next step that actually moves the needle. About the Guest: Branden LaNette is the host of the “Listen B…” podcast and an author who speaks candidly about emotional intelligence, boundaries, personal responsibility, and faith. She shares her story of being on her own young and raising six kids. Key Takeaways: Define mindset as your response to reality—not affirmations or manifesting Notice when replaying old stories keeps your nervous system stuck in the past Stop arguing for your discomfort; choose one action that changes momentum Ask daily: “What's the scariest helpful thing I can do today?” Do the hardest task first to “open up” the rest of your day How to Connect With the Guest: https://brandenlanette.com/ ; her podcast; her books on Amazon and Audible; sign up for her “love letters.” Want to be a guest on Healthy Mind, Healthy Life? Why do some people feel “easy” to talk to—while others constantly frustrate us? In this episode of Healthy Mind, Healthy Life, host Yusuf sits down with Marita Littauer Tedder to unpack how personality wiring shapes communication, conflict, and connection. This conversation is for anyone feeling stuck in recurring misunderstandings at home or work. Marita shares her simple color-based personality framework, how “good intentions” can still miss the mark, and the practical shift that changes relationships fastest: learning to identify someone's type and meet their emotional needs with maturity and care. About the Guest: Marita Littauer Tedder is the author of 20+ books, including the long-standing bestseller Wired That Way. She teaches how understanding personality differences can improve communication, reduce conflict, and strengthen relationships. Key Takeaways: Stop assuming care equals “communicating like me”—personality differences change what support looks like. Use personality awareness to separate “lazy or rude” labels from what's actually happening. Notice visible clues (voice, space, organization, body language) to identify someone's style. Reduce clashes by choosing strengths over weaknesses—growth is a decision. Improve one strained relationship by meeting the other person's emotional needs consistently. In teams, shared personality language can prevent misreading tone and intent. What begins as a sincere search for meaning can quietly become control. In this episode, you'll hear how devotion can blur into self-erasure—and what it takes to find your voice again. This conversation is for anyone navigating a high-demand group, spiritual community, or power dynamic that feels “off.” Hosted by Sayan on Healthy Mind, Healthy Life, journalist and chef Priya Hutner shares her journey from joining an ashram as a teen to leadership, awakening, and healing through writing, therapy, and rebuilding self-trust. About the Guest: Priya Hutner is a journalist and chef, and a former CEO of an ashram community. She authored the memoir Chasing Nirvana, reflecting on spirituality, control, and recovery. Key Takeaways: Notice “slow-burn” red flags: shaming, fear-based loyalty, and loss of agency. Ask: “Can I question, think critically, and leave without punishment?” Track incongruence between teachings and lived reality. Rebuild self-trust through supportive practices (therapy, writing, reflection). Separate genuine spirituality from systems that demand self-erasure. 5. Many people believe trauma only counts if a child is physically harmed. This episode challenges that belief by exploring how witnessing domestic violence silently shapes the mind, emotions, and relationships for years to come. If you've ever felt guilt, fear, hypervigilance, or self-doubt without knowing why, this conversation offers clarity and relief. You'll learn how early exposure to fear and unpredictability forms hidden beliefs—and how naming those experiences can open the door to healing. About the Guest: Brian F. Martin is the Founder and CEO of the Childhood Domestic Violence Association. He is the author of Invincibleand executive producer of the award-winning documentary The Children Next Door. Key Takeaways: Witnessing domestic violence can be as damaging as direct physical abuse Children often internalize guilt for situations they never caused or controlled Naming childhood domestic violence is a critical first step toward healing Challenging false beliefs can reduce shame and emotional burden Safe conversations can transform trauma into resilience How to Connect With the Guest Website: https://cdv.org/ Want to be a guest on Healthy Mind, Healthy Life? If you keep second-guessing yourself, it may not be confusion—it may be a habit of outsourcing your inner knowing. This conversation helps you hear the difference between fear-driven noise and true inner guidance. This episode is for anyone stuck in overthinking, people-pleasing, or decision paralysis. Toni LaMotta shares practical ways to build self-trust, reframe “wrong decisions” as feedback, and use body-based awareness to move from fear into clarity and alignment. About the Guest: Toni LaMotta spent 60 years in religious life and has trained in six evidence-based methodologies over two decades. She helps people shift from external validation to deep self-trust through guidance, journaling, and somatic practices. Key Takeaways: Learn to spot the “barking dog” voice (fast, fear-based) vs. inner guidance (quiet, steady, body-knowing). Treat “wrong choices” as information—make a decision, learn, and adjust instead of freezing in anxiety. Reduce over-reliance on pros/cons lists and constant opinion-seeking to strengthen self-trust. Try the Fear-to-Faith somatic reset: name the fear, name the coping need, choose a higher-quality replacement. Practice presence by listening to your breath and body sensations to access clearer guidance. Make the process light and consistent—small daily practice builds reliable inner clarity. For many women, the hardest part of working in male-dominated industries isn't the work itself—it's the constant pressure to prove, tolerate, and stay quiet just to belong. In this powerful conversation, Samantha shares her lived experience as one of the few women in aviation and maintenance, revealing the mental toll of being the "only one in the room" and how that pressure quietly erodes confidence, self-worth, and wellbeing. This episode is about protecting your mental health without shrinking, and learning how to stay, lead, and earn what you're worth—without burning out. ABOUT THE GUEST: Samantha Kaye Harris is a workforce retention and confidence strategist for women in the trades and other male-dominated fields. With more than 25 years of experience in industries like aviation and structural maintenance, she helps women speak up, lead strong, and stay in careers they worked hard to get into— instead of feeling pushed out. ACTIONABLE TAKEAWAYS: 1. START YOUR BRAG BAG TODAY Document your achievements, wins, and accolades—no matter how small. Review it when self-doubt creeps in. 2. Trust that you are qualified, capable, and belong. 4. SET BOUNDARIES WITHOUT APOLOGIZING Practice saying: "Let me finish," or "Give me a moment, and then you speak." 5. REFRAME CHALLENGES AS GROWTH Ask yourself: "What am I learning from this that will help elevate me?" 6. BREATHE AND RECONNECT When overwhelmed, stop and take a deep breath. Remind yourself of who you are. 7. SEEK SUPPORT WHEN NEEDED Consider working with a coach or counselor who understands your unique challenges. As we have stepped into 2026, many of us are exhausted—not just mentally, but physically—from a world that rewards stillness and productivity over health. In this episode of Healthy Mind, Healthy Life, guest host Sana sits down with Pedro Wunderlich, founder of Wakeout, to challenge everything we've been taught about exercise. This conversation reframes movement as a natural, human need rather than a punishing task or moral test. Pedro shares how modern infrastructure, corporate culture, and the fitness industry have normalized sitting, discomfort, and disconnection from the body. From questioning ergonomic chairs to calling out hustle culture, this episode explores how small, intuitive movements throughout the day can restore not just physical health, but emotional clarity, connection, and joy. This is a powerful reminder that movement doesn't need to hurt to heal—and that your body isn't broken, it's just been ignored. About the Guest: Pedro Wunderlich is the founder of Wakeout, an award-winning movement app named Apple's App of the Year. Based in Guatemala, Pedro has designed nearly 3,000 natural movements to help people break free from sedentary lifestyles and reconnect with their bodies in gentle, human ways. Key Takeaways: Movement is not performance or punishment—it's communication Sitting less matters more than exercising harder Modern life is designed against our bodies, not for them Small movements throughout the day can transform mental health Your body, mind, and emotions are one integrated system Connect with the guest: https://wakeout.app/ LinkedIn Want to be a guest on Healthy Mind, Healthy Life ? In this deeply human and grounding conversation, guest host Sana sits down with Ryan Reichert to explore the concept of Protector Development—the inner armor we build to survive pain, trauma, and relentless life challenges. From childhood adversity and military service to addiction recovery, divorce, and rebuilding life from the ground up, Ryan shares how survival mode shapes our identity and how healing begins when we allow ourselves to ask for help. This episode is for anyone who feels stuck in a valley, questioning their past decisions, their worth, or their future. Ryan reminds us that progress doesn't come from massive leaps, but from small, intentional steps—just 1% better each day. A powerful reminder that strength is not about never breaking, but about learning how to bend, heal, and rediscover purpose. About the Guest: Ryan Reichert is a U.S. Army veteran with 23 years of service, a recovering alcoholic, author, speaker, and founder of Our Protector Development. Through his books, coaching, and courses, Ryan helps individuals turn pain into purpose, survival into service, and brokenness into growth. Fast wins feel good, but they often leave you burnt out and disconnected. In this episode of Healthy Mind, Healthy Life, host Yusuf talks with Jake Knox, author of Oak Logs and Gasoline, about why slow growth is not a delay, it is the foundation. This episode is for anyone chasing results but feeling scattered, stressed, or emotionally “behind.” You will learn how to shift from quick fixes to steady fuel through small, practical habits that build resilience at work, at home, and in how you relate to yourself. About the Guest: Jake Knox is the author of Oak Logs and Gasoline and a mentor-focused coach. He shares lessons shaped by years of conversations while raising four boys, using a “campfire” metaphor to teach sustainable growth. Key Takeaways: Use “oak logs vs gasoline” to spot what is sustainable vs what is just urgency. Watch for “mess in between” as a sign your pace is too fast. Reduce stress by finishing small basics before stacking bigger goals. Build connection by being present in short daily moments with loved ones. Reset fast with 3 to 5 minutes of breathing and gratitude. Stack small wins to rebuild momentum without overwhelm. Most people treat mental health like an emergency tool, not a daily strength practice. In this episode of Healthy Mind, Healthy Life, host Yusuf sits down with Cory Chadwick, founder of Lyceum, to unpack the difference between reactive coping and proactive growth. This conversation is for anyone who's functioning but not thriving, especially busy leaders and high performers who want more clarity, energy, and consistency. You'll learn how to close the gap between where you are now and your personal “10” by building repeatable mental habits, not chasing motivation. About the Guest: Cory Chadwick is the founder of Lyceum, a trainer-led “mental gym” designed to help leaders and high performers build proactive mental fitness. He focuses on practical tools, accountability, and consistent growth through weekly group training. Key Takeaways: Treat mental health like physical fitness: train consistently, not only in crisis Use the “1 to 10” check-in to spot the gap between current self and best self Drop the need for perfection: missing one day is normal, quitting is optional Focus on “do something, not nothing” to keep momentum alive Ask yourself: “What do I really want out of life?” to simplify decisions Build sustainable habits with structure, guidance, and community How to Connect With the Guest: LinkedIn (connect with Cory Chadwick) https://www.yourlyceum.com/ Want to be a guest on Healthy Mind, Healthy Life? In this episode of Healthy Mind, Healthy Life, host Sayan sits down with Kylee Ingram to unpack how better decision design can reduce stress, improve clarity, and rebuild self-trust at work. They explore decision intelligence, crowd wisdom, and why “the usual people in the room” often leads to predictable mistakes. This conversation is for leaders, founders, and team members who feel stuck in chaotic meetings, unclear accountability, or constant second-guessing. You will learn how to structure decision rooms so the right voices are included, bias is reduced, and decisions improve without adding more time or drama. About the Guest: Kylee Ingram is the co-founder and CEO of Wizer, a decision intelligence platform focused on mapping cognitive strengths and helping teams bring the right people into important decisions. Her background includes television production and a crowdsourced documentary experiment called CrowdTV. Key Takeaways: Aim for 6+ decision participants to unlock “wise crowd” effects, but only if diversity and independence are built in Watch for three bias types in meetings: social (who is heard), information (what is valued), capacity(oversimplifying under pressure) A weak decision room looks like the same voices repeating, blind spots growing, and outcomes feeling narrow Build the room using three lenses: outward diversity (age, gender, ethnicity), experience, and cognitive roles(data, risk, options, process, outcomes) Better decision design can reduce errors and improve innovation when the right mix is present Start by understanding your own decision style, then add a complementary thinker to balance your blind spots How to Connect With the Guest: https://www.wizer.business/decision-profiles If you're curious about how you make decisions, Kylee invites listeners to complete a free Decision Profile. It takes about five minutes and gives you insight into your decision style, strengths, and blind spots — and how you tend to show up in group decisions. In this episode of Healthy Mind, Healthy Life, host Sayan sits down with Justin Smith, creator of Cray, a dating safety app built from a deeply personal breakup and rebuild. Justin shares how a sudden, traumatic relationship collapse pushed him to question reality, spot manipulation patterns, and turn hard-earned lessons into a tool that helps others avoid the same pain. This conversation is for anyone who feels confused, drained, or unsafe in dating or long-term relationships, and wants clearer signals before things get worse. You will walk away with practical ways to compare words vs actions, understand why red flags matter, and use simple tools that support safer decisions without shame. About the Guest: Justin Smith is the creator of Cray, an app designed to help people recognize relationship red flags and manipulation patterns. Based in the U.S., he built Cray after a difficult end to an eight-year relationship. Key Takeaways: Ask: “Is this reality, or am I being pushed into a false story?” Compare words vs actions because consistency reveals truth faster than promises. Red flags matter more when you understand why they are dangerous, not just what they are. Use layered safety checks: relationship health, manipulation risk, legal history, and identity verification. If you would not accept this behavior for your child, do not normalize it for yourself. Tools reduce shame because you can seek clarity privately before asking others for advice. Some pain does not just hurt. It reshapes how you trust, how you speak, and what you hide. In this tender episode of Healthy Mind, Healthy Life, host Sayan sits with author Lisa K. Raynor to explore what changes when survivors finally tell the truth. This episode is for anyone carrying trauma in silence, and for loved ones who want to support without judgment. Lisa shares how secrecy, shame, and not being believed can shape relationships and self-worth, and how small steps like writing can become a doorway to healing and helping others. About the Guest: Lisa K. Raynor is the author of Shelf Life of a Trophy Wife. She shares lived experience and reflections on survival, silence, and the non-linear path of healing. Key Takeaways: If you are not ready to share everything, start with one small safe step (journaling, a poem, a private note). Being “high-functioning” can hide deep pain; perfection is not proof you are okay. Not being believed keeps many survivors silent, so choose support carefully. Triggers can show up years later; you can “visit” dark days without living there. Shift the blame where it belongs: survivors are not responsible for what happened. In this episode of Healthy Mind, Healthy Life, host Sana sits down with Aleks Kryloff, founder of Stern, to talk about what “balance” really looks like when you are building a company from scratch. Aleks shares how a frustrating home-services experience pushed him to build a business around trust, communication, and modern systems. This conversation is for founders, operators, and high-achievers who feel stuck in survival mode. You will hear practical ways to prioritize, protect family time, and reduce bottlenecks without losing standards, even when balance still feels far off. About the Guest : Aleks Kryloff is the founder of Stern, a New Jersey based home-services company focused on gutters and exterior services. He built Stern around clear communication, reliability, and a values-led team culture. Key Takeaways: Treat balance as a direction, not a daily scoreboard Use strict prioritization: pick the few things that matter most today Create protected deep-work time (Aleks uses 4:30 AM for 2 to 2.5 hours) Delegate based on shared values first, skills second Build a team that can carry responsibility, not just tasks Ask yourself what you are choosing to prioritize and what you are ignoring How to Connect With the Guest: Instagram and Facebook LinkedIn Website: https://sternguttersnj.com/ Phone or text: 973-298-0767 Want to be a guest on Healthy Mind, Healthy Life? In this episode of Healthy Mind, Healthy Life, host Sayan sits down with Samantha Jones to explore the hidden cost of “success” when your body is running on survival. Samantha shares how single motherhood, entrepreneurship, and chronic stress pulled her away from her own needs, and what finally helped her reconnect. This conversation is for business owners, leaders, and parents who look successful on paper but feel disconnected inside. You will hear practical ways to rebuild energy and clarity through small nourishment rituals, and a mindset shift that flips hustle culture on its head: design your life first, then build your business around it. About the Guest: Samantha Jones is an entrepreneur, culinary herbalist, wellness strategist, author, and speaker. She has worked in healthcare practices (including dentistry) and helps leaders integrate nervous system health and nourishment into real life and business. Key Takeaways: Survival-mode leadership often creates action before clarity; stability flips it to clarity then action You do not need burnout to hit milestones; success can include wellbeing A simple daily ritual (like 2 PM tea time) can rebuild body connection and self-trust Use food as support, not trends: notice what you feel, then choose nourishment accordingly Ask daily: “What do I want my life to look and feel like, and what is one small step today?” Build your life first, then build a business that fits that life How to Connect With the Guest: Website: Stirred by Earth (her forthcoming book name and her main hub) Want to be a guest on Healthy Mind, Healthy Life? Some wounds are not from one moment, but years of surviving what you never should have faced. On Healthy Mind, Healthy Life, host Avik sits down with trauma-informed psychotherapist Anjalia McGoldrick to explore how real healing begins when you finally slow down and look within. This episode is for anyone who feels stuck in old patterns, gets easily triggered in relationships, or quietly believes it is too late to change. You will learn how to spot inner-child signals, stop projecting pain onto others, and rebuild self-worth through compassion, forgiveness, and daily practice. About the Guest: Anjalia McGoldrick is a trauma-informed psychotherapist, metaphysician, and motivational speaker. She founded Life in Balance Counseling and Wellness Center and is the author of The Child I Left Behind. Key Takeaways: Treat triggers as signals: name the emotion, then ask “where do I feel this in my body?” Replace blame with curiosity: “What old story is this activating in me?” Practice inner-child reparenting: respond with reassurance, not criticism. Watch for avoidance habits (overworking, numbing behaviors) and choose one honest step instead. Use forgiveness as self-release: write what happened, what you learned, and what you needed then. In this episode of Healthy Mind, Healthy Life, host Sayan sits down with Gazit Chaya Nkosi to explore what it truly takes to move from surviving to genuinely living. Gazit shares a raw, grounded journey through long-term suicidal thinking, sensory sensitivity, trauma responses, and the slow return to inner trust. This conversation is for anyone who feels stuck in anxiety, shutdown, reactivity, shame, or the pressure to “push through.” You will hear practical insight on why talk therapy alone can miss the body's needs, how nervous system regulation changes everything, and how to find a path beyond rigid cultural rules into real self-worth. About the Guest: Gazit Chaya Nkosi is a coach and mystic seeker who works with Safe and Sound Protocol listening and somatic parts work. They share lived experience with trauma, sensory sensitivity, and reclaiming a life that feels safe and authentic. Key Takeaways: Notice how “push through” often creates more shutdown, not more strength Separate your inner truth from cultural rules about gender, worth, and safety Use bottom-up tools (breath, movement, sound, mindfulness) to support regulation Understand reactivity and dissociation as survival responses, not personal failure Explore somatic parts work to reduce inner conflict and build integration Build safety in the body first, then the mind can follow How to Connect With the Guest: Website: https://www.therootedcoop.com/ YouTube: The Rooted Co-op Free inquiry calls and resources are available through the website. In this episode of Healthy Mind, Healthy Life, host Sana sits down with Dr. Bob Rich for a real conversation about grief, suffering, and the choices we make when life breaks open. This episode is for anyone navigating loss, big change, or emotional pain and wondering how to keep going without forcing a “growth story.” You will hear practical ways to build self-respect, respond to anger with intention, and find meaning at your own pace. About the Guest: Dr. Bob Rich is a retired psychotherapist and author based in Halesville, Victoria. He has written The Hole in Your Life: Grief and Bereavement and shares resources through his blog, “Bobbing Around.” Key Takeaways: Treat setbacks as learning opportunities: ask “What can I learn from this?” Build a pause habit for anger: breathe, count, then respond. A new year can feel hopeful and heavy at the same time. In this episode of Healthy Mind, Healthy Life, host Sana (filling in for Avik) sits down with spiritual teacher and transformation guide Ashmita Arora to explore a bold question: is there one root cause behind most human suffering, and one solution that keeps getting missed? This conversation is for anyone feeling stuck in repeating patterns, burnout, relationship strain, or self-pressure. Ashmita breaks down how attachment fuels overwhelm, and how detachment (especially in perception) can create real freedom, clarity, and peace. About the Guest: Ashmita Arora is a spiritual teacher, transformation guide, entrepreneur, and author. She is the founder of an intuitive practice and creator of Portal to Self, a transformational journey focused on clarity, release, and integration. Key Takeaways: Identify the attachment driving your stress (perfection, success, approval, control). Practice detachment by changing how you perceive the situation, not just the situation itself. Use meditation consistently to reconnect with your body's signals of expansion vs contraction. Reframe “mistakes” by assigning new meaning and looking for the lesson. Most stress is not caused by the moment. It is caused by the inner patterns we keep repeating. In Healthy Mind, Healthy Life, host Sayan sits down with Debbie Longo to unpack how these hidden patterns shape stress, emotions, and daily choices. This episode is for anyone stuck in anxiety loops, people-pleasing, overthinking, or burnout, even when life looks “fine.” You will learn how to spot the real driver behind the behavior, pause before spiraling, and use simple tools like breathwork, meditation, and support to feel calmer and more grounded. When life feels overwhelming, we often push harder instead of listening inward. In this episode of Healthy Mind, Healthy Life, host Charu sits down with therapist and nature-based practitioner Mary Rothwell to explore what plants can teach us about thriving. This conversation is for anyone feeling stressed, emotionally drained, or stuck in people-pleasing patterns. You will learn practical, grounded ways to notice what you need, set healthier boundaries, and reconnect with your body and environment, starting with small moments of nature in daily life. About the Guest: Mary Rothwell is a licensed therapist, speaker, and podcast host with more than 35 years of mental health experience. She is also a Master Gardener and a certified forest therapy practitioner, and she has a book coming out called Nature Knows. Key Takeaways: Stop defaulting to “try harder” when you feel burnout; more effort can backfire, like overwatering a plant. Use your body as data: notice where tension sits and what actually helps you recover. Boundaries are not about shutting people out; they protect what you need to stay nourished. Start small with nature: a houseplant, a neighborhood tree, or five minutes outside counts. Practice “sense-based mindfulness”: breathe, then notice what you see, hear, smell, and feel. Healthy connection matters: like ecosystems, people thrive with support, not isolation. In this episode of Healthy Mind, Healthy Life, host Yusuf sits down with Larry Kesslin, author of The Joy Molecule, to unpack why joy is not something you chase, it's something you align with. Larry shares how a 2012 trip to rural Uganda reshaped his beliefs about success, purpose, and what truly creates a meaningful life. This conversation is for anyone who looks “fine” on the outside but feels disconnected inside. You'll learn Larry's practical framework for inner peace, how misalignment shows up as stress and constant seeking, and why joy is an inward journey that leads to deeper connection. About the Guest: Larry Kesslin is the author of The Joy Molecule and Success Redefined. He coaches individuals and supports companies in building ecosystems and communities rooted in connection. Key Takeaways: Define happiness vs. joy clearly: needs met vs. inner peace Use “what, who, why” to check alignment before chasing goals Watch for stress and “everything is happening to me” as misalignment signals Detach from identity labels to reduce suffering and regain clarity Follow “breadcrumbs” by doing the next best logical step, right now How to Connect With the Guest: Website: https://www.5-dots.com/ Email: https://www.podmatch.com/hostdetailpreview/avik Disclaimer: This video is for educational and informational purposes only. What if burnout is not just about workload, but about being trapped in one thinking mode? In this episode of Healthy Mind, Healthy Life, host Avik Chakraborty sits down with Dr. Andre Walton to unpack how an overly analytical mind can fuel burnout, anxiety, and emotional shutdown. This conversation is for high performers who feel stuck, depleted, and mentally tight. You will learn how creative, divergent thinking can help you widen perspective, rebuild emotional flexibility, and create practical relief through small daily shifts. About the Guest: Dr. Andre Walton is a coach and holds a doctorate in social psychology with a focus on creativity. After experiencing burnout while building an international business, he began studying how creative thinking can support recovery from stress and burnout. Key Takeaways: Burnout can worsen when sleep breaks down and you isolate from the people who could help Stress grows when you feel you lack resources to meet a challenge, not just because work is heavy Convergent thinking under stress can cause “seizing and freezing,” narrowing your options Divergent thinking helps you see the bigger picture and build new mental pathways Small changes like new routes, new routines, and playful choices can reopen flexibility Mindfulness, walking, and nature time can help pull your mind out of constant future focus How to Connect With the Guest: Website: https://www.plan4change.org/ Email: https://www.podmatch.com/hostdetailpreview/avik Disclaimer: This video is for educational and informational purposes only. Feeling stuck between knowing what to do and actually doing it? On Healthy Mind, Healthy Life, host Sana sits down with Patrick J. Sweeney II to break down the neuroscience of conviction and why fear, overthinking, and procrastination are often your brain trying to protect you. This episode is for anyone trying to close the belief gap, especially founders, leaders, and high performers. You will learn practical ways to calm your nervous system, reprogram automatic reactions, and take small actions that build real confidence over time. About the Guest: Patrick J. Sweeney II is the author of Fear is Fuel and shares research-driven insights on how the brain processes fear, belief, and decision-making, including lessons from founder and leadership environments. Key Takeaways: Conviction is trainable: your brain can learn belief through repeated aligned action Use 4x4 breathing to signal safety and slow the fight-or-flight response Smiling (even forced) can reduce stress response and lower fear reactivity Time-box fear by focusing only on the next small window, not the whole challenge Reprogram snap judgments with curiosity: “What can I admire here?” Strategy is rarely the real block; belief and internal safety often are How to Connect With the Guest: Website: https://www.thefounderscreed.com/ (free first chapter) Instagram: The Fear Guru LinkedIn: The Fear Guru Want to be a guest on Healthy Mind, Healthy Life? In this episode of Healthy Mind, Healthy Life, host Avik sits down with Dr. Jacqueline Campbell to talk about the hidden reason high performers burn out even when results look great: a nervous system stuck in survival mode. This one is for founders, leaders, and high achievers who feel wired, reactive, or constantly “on.” You will learn how regulation changes decision-making, team culture, relationships, and performance, plus simple in-the-moment tools to shift from force to power. About the Guest: Dr. Jacqueline Campbell is a conscious leadership strategist, author, and global keynote speaker. She is also a trained mental health therapist (ND, LPC-S) with a focus on neuroscience, drawing from lived experience including a traumatic childhood, US Marine Corps service, and motherhood. In this episode of Healthy Waves, host Avik sits down with Jamie Green to unpack a simple truth most people miss: your mind is not just “thoughts,” it is the control center behind your actions, body signals, and everyday behavior. This conversation is for anyone stuck in survival mode, caught in emotional habits, or quietly thinking “I know what to do, I just can't do it.” Jamie shares practical tools to calm the nervous system, soften the inner critic, and create change that actually feels safe and sustainable. About the Guest: Jamie Green is a trauma release specialist, NLP life coach, and Reiki master. She helps people release emotional blocks, shift limiting beliefs, and build calm, confident self-trust using a blend of neuroscience and healing practices. Key Takeaways: If you feel “lazy,” check for nervous system protection patterns, not personal failure Use journaling: write the belief (“I'm not enough”), ask “why,” then collect real evidence that challenges it Emotional eating is often a safety-seeking response, not a lack of discipline NLP can shift beliefs by changing the way the subconscious stores the “movie” of a memory or identity Try anchoring: recall a strong positive memory, intensify it, then press thumb + forefinger for 2 seconds Do Avik's 7-day check-in: what do I feel, what thought is attached, what would I choose if I felt safe? In this episode of Healthy Mind, Healthy Life, host Sana sits down with Patrick Kamba to unpack a hard truth: success can look great on paper and still feel exhausting. Together, they explore the shift from loud, performative ambition to “quiet ambition” rooted in calm confidence, integrity, and real influence. This conversation is for high performers, people-pleasers, burnt-out leaders, and anyone who's hit big goals yet still felt strangely empty. You'll learn how to navigate office politics without losing yourself, spot insecurity disguised as ambition, and build a version of success that protects your mind and your life. About the Guest: Patrick Kamba is a pharmaceutical industry executive who has led global teams and mentored emerging leaders. He shares insights from his journey toward “quiet ambition” and mentions his book, Quiet Ambition. Key Takeaways: Quiet ambition is calm, respectful confidence, not playing small or staying invisible. Office politics exist everywhere; navigate them by building alliances while staying authentic. Healthy ambition starts with self-awareness: define goals you can measure and know when you've arrived. Loud, performative ambition often pushes people away and blocks honest feedback. Celebrate wins intentionally so you don't fall into the endless “next goal” treadmill. Fulfillment is usually a byproduct of living well, not a box you can tick. In Healthy Mind, Healthy Life, host Sayan sits down with Derrick Van Mell to unpack a truth most people feel but rarely name: leadership can shape your nervous system as much as your workload. Derrick explains how unclear direction, neglect, and careless comments can quietly erode confidence and safety at work. This episode is for anyone dealing with a difficult manager, recovering from workplace stress, or stepping into leadership themselves. You'll learn how ethical, competent leadership reduces harm, why shared management language matters, and what employees can do to protect themselves without escalating conflict. About the Guest: Derrick Van Mell is the founder and principal of the Center for Management Terms and Practices, a standards body for general management. He's also the author of Atoms and Orchestras and shares frameworks like The Index, the Milwaukee Model, and the Pledge of Managerial Power. Key Takeaways: Bad bosses often cause “invisible injury” through neglect, unclear direction, and public disrespect. Not all harm is intentional, many managers were never taught ethical use of authority. Strong leadership means putting people first, not ego, control, or winning arguments. If a boss is fundamentally decent, use calm courage: ask clarifying questions about tone and intent. “Parental mind” works upward too: recognize what your manager does well to shift behavior safely. Management is not for everyone, rewards are delayed and abstract, so self-awareness matters. In this episode of Healthy Mind, Healthy Life, host Avik sits down with Dr. Darren Clair to break down a simple truth most of us feel but struggle to live: you can't build a steady mind without a supportive lifestyle. They get practical about what to do when you feel overwhelmed, and why small habits work better than “complete life overhaul” plans. This conversation is for anyone feeling stressed, tired, anxious, or stuck in a loop of quick fixes. You'll learn how movement, sleep hygiene, and tiny stress resets can improve mood fast, and why shifting from reactive care to proactive vitality is the real long game. About the Guest: Dr. Darren Clair is a dual board certified physician in anesthesiology and lifestyle medicine and the founder of Vibrance Health (2003). He is the author of Creating a Life of Vibrance and focuses on proactive, practical health habits. Key Takeaways: Start with 20 minutes of consistent aerobic exercise to support mood and reduce stress Do exercise without constant stimulation to give your brain true quiet time Improve sleep hygiene: avoid phone scrolling before bed and allow time after dinner Reduce or avoid evening alcohol to support serotonin, melatonin, and deeper sleep Use micro stress resets: a 10-minute post-dinner walk or 3 to 4 slow belly breaths Proactive health wins when you value “feeling good tomorrow” over short-term cravings How to Connect With the Guest: Darren Clair's Website Want to be a guest on Healthy Mind, Healthy Life? In this episode of Healthy Mind, Healthy Life, host Sayan sits down with author and indie publisher Annabel Youens to challenge the “go it alone” hero narrative and explore the heroine's journey, where healing and success grow through community. This conversation is for anyone feeling burned out by hustle-first stories, navigating a midlife identity shift, or craving a more grounded path to purpose. You will hear how stories shape mental health, why collaboration reduces loneliness, and how self-trust can return when you listen inward. About the Guest: Annabel Youens is the author of the debut speculative novel Thread Traveler and the founder of Sortline Press, publishing transformation stories for women in midlife. She previously spent 25 years in tech entrepreneurship, including an early role at AppBooks.com. Key Takeaways: Notice where the “solo hero” mindset is isolating you Reframe midlife as a second-act doorway, not a breakdown Ask: What did your 17-year-old self want that you postponed Create a daily practice that helps you hear your inner voice Replace “winning” with “collaborating” in one real-life situation How to Connect With the Guest: Website: https://linkly.link/2Ksbq Substack: Saved by the Spell Book: Thread Traveler (available wherever books are sold) Want to be a guest on Healthy Mind, Healthy Life? In this episode of Healthy Mind, Healthy Life, host Yusuf sits down with Stan Kurtz, founder of Quantum Research, to explore why so many people feel foggy, wired, inflamed, or stuck, even when they are trying to live “healthy.” This conversation is for anyone dealing with chronic stress, low energy, anxious loops, or persistent brain fog and wondering what else might be driving it. Stan shares how he uses microscopy, metabolic mapping, and pattern analysis to look for possible stressors like water-related contaminants, heavy metals, pesticide residues, and long-lasting medication remnants, plus why nervous system regulation can change how we think and respond fast. About the Guest: Stan Kurtz is the founder of Quantum Research. His work uses microscopy, metabolic mapping, and pattern analysis to study factors that may interfere with clarity and performance. His journey began after his son was diagnosed with autism. Key Takeaways: If your mind keeps looping on the past or future, ask what is driving fight-or-flight. Common “load factors” he looks for include heavy metals and pesticide residues. Water quality matters more than people think, so be intentional about what you drink. Regulation can shift your ability to problem-solve even when circumstances stay hard. Consider tracking patterns (sleep, stress, digestion, focus) before chasing quick fixes. They get practical about early warning signals, inner guidance, and protecting yourself when you are vulnerable and healing. This episode is for anyone feeling drained, reactive, or stuck in high achieving mode while quietly running out of energy. In this episode of Healthy Mind, Healthy Life, host Sayan sits down with publisher and entrepreneur Steven Booth to unpack why “just post consistently” can feel impossible, especially when your nervous system is already overwhelmed. This is a calm, human conversation about visibility as connection, not performance. If you're a creator, coach, author, or entrepreneur who disappears after bursts of motivation, this episode is for you. Steven shares a practical way to build sustainable consistency through low-pressure daily proof, pre-decided habits, and choosing one platform where you feel safe, so you can keep showing up without burning out. About the Guest: Steven Booth is a publisher and entrepreneur with 14 years of experience who has guided 400+ manuscripts into the world. He writes about visibility and marketing, including his book The Art of Being Found. Key Takeaways: Treat visibility like a relationship, not a performance Expect cycles (on/off phases) and plan around them Use a daily “I showed up” journal to build self-trust Make “when-then” decisions to reduce daily willpower drain Pick one platform that feels safe and stay there Misses are data, not drama, restart without shame How to Connect With the Guest https://geniuspubstudio.substack.com/ (About page has contact info) https://geniusbookpublishing.com/ Want to be a guest on Healthy Mind, Healthy Life? In this episode of Healthy Mind, Healthy Life, host Avik sits down with Danny Meese, founder of Ville, to explore a bold idea: what if technology improved our mental health by pushing us offline, not pulling us deeper into screens? This conversation is for anyone who feels stuck in doomscrolling, socially drained, or disconnected. Danny shares how short-form feeds can quietly reduce our motivation for real-world interaction, and what to change this week so your phone supports the life you actually want. About the Guest: Danny Meese is the creator of Ville, an app designed to help people discover and host real-life events using simple 5-second clips. He's a designer and creative director with a wide-ranging background, including designing the Peacock logo. Key Takeaways: Delete one “endless feed” app this week and replace it with tools that enhance real life Build community through repeat events (same place, same time, weekly) Make connection easier by sharing clear event details, like a calendar invite If you're not “social,” start with low-pressure connection (show up, nod, stay 20 minutes) Practice real authenticity by talking about what genuinely interests you Use tech as a bridge: plan one simple hangout instead of watching other people's lives How to Connect With the Guest: Find Danny on https://ville.social/ (Android or iPhone) Want to be a guest on Healthy Mind, Healthy Life? If you feel stuck between wanting peace and wanting progress, this conversation will land. This episode is for builders, career-switchers, and anyone questioning whether traditional higher education is worth the cost. He teaches practical business skills online through MBA ASAP and has reached 37,000+ students globally via Udemy. You can be doing “everything right” and still feel off: poor sleep, low energy, brain fog, and slipping motivation. This episode reframes the hidden factor many high-performing men overlook: regular social drinking. If you're a man in your 40s or 50s who drinks “normally” but feels like your performance is sliding, Clifford Stephan shares why a longer, strategic break (not a quick dry month) can help you reset sleep, mood, cravings, and resilience, without shame or extreme labels. About the Guest: Clifford Stephan is the founder of Booze Vacation, a men's health movement for high-performing men in their 40s and 50s. He studied nutritional science at Cal Poly SLO and spent over 20 years running a consulting business in Silicon Valley. Key Takeaways: Use a 3 to 6 month break to truly re-stabilize sleep, mood, and stress response Track drinks, last drink time, and morning energy to spot patterns fast Build a “social game plan” so events stay fun without alcohol Expect cravings for sugar and caffeine when sleep is disrupted Focus on sequence: stop the disruptor first, then optimize diet, training, recovery How to Connect With the Guest: Website: https://boozevacation.com/ Men's health assessment quiz: https://boozevacation.scoreapp.com/ Want to be a guest on Healthy Mind, Healthy Life? Listen, Sister! Embrace Imperfection with Tess Scott My heart has been so encouraged by my guest, Tess Scott. I love, love, love how she embraces her imperfections. Tess is the founder of Listen Sister, a ministry with a focus on encouraging women through what she calls, the freakshow of life. Using her message of encouragement Tess has written a book titled, Listen Sister! Finding Hope in the Freakshow of Life. I am always in awe of women who have the ability to make peace with their imperfections. They're able to fold all of their failures and embarrassing moments into the storyline of their life. In her book, that's exactly what Tess does. She shares real stories that are simple, everyday life experiences, good and bad, embarrassing, empowering and she reveals the beauty in the ordinary. You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll cringe and you'll leave with your heart having experienced a deeper revelation of God's goodness. What an interesting life Tess has lived and we touched on a little bit of each phase. Tess says she's the black sheep turned Jesus girl. She has 8 children ....all boys....8 boys.....I even tell her I wouldn't want to clean that bathroom! She's been married 4 times, two of which were to the same man. God reunites her with her husband (in her fourth marriage), and all seems like it's back on track and then she's diagnosed with breast cancer. So instead of a romantic new marriage they begin going to the cancer hospital, visits, radiation, mastectomy. It might be hard to imagine but her complicated life story is full of God's extravagant grace, and mercy. I hoping that all who have the opportunity to read her book, listen to her wherever she speaks or follow her on social media will adapt her attitude about life's challenges and maybe borrow her courage if they need to in order to heal and move past their regrets and shame. The courage it takes to share the embarrassing aspects of your life is one thing but to share the things that were your fault....I don't know about you but that would be a hard one for me. To expose my shame and regret to strangers feels like I'm opening myself up to personal attacks. Maybe it's my background, where perfection was drilled into my being as the only acceptable result ...and trust me I get it, perfection is completely unrealistic ...God has brought me through, given me healing but I'd be lying if I didn't admit that sometimes it's challenged and I have to address those thought patterns with God. So my point being, who wants to purposefully invite ridicule? But that's not how Tess sees it. The only place where we're safe to expose ourselves in that manner with regard to shame and regrets, to be laid bare and vulnerable is with Christ. Once we settle our failures and shortcomings with Him no one else's opinion has any power over us. When we've transferred the pain and struggle of failure to God, laying that burden down, submitting it to His authority it no longer has the same affect on us....it doesn't hold any power over us anymore. God will never use it against us no matter how many times me return with an apology for the same thing. He'll never reject you. He'll never leave you. The only place that we can find the power and authority to take away our sin and to embrace a forgiveness that allows us to lift our heads under the weight of our decisions and to experience restoration is at the foot of the cross. Don't hesitate to lay your imperfections at the feet of Jesus. His blood on the cross is still as fresh for us today as it was over 2000 years ago. While we're still alive we have an opportunity to seek God's heart and find out what it means to walk in the freedom of who He is and what He's done. It's an incredible place to do life from.
