And if we think about that key issue, most health disparities are focused towards marginalized communities…” “And so if we think about that intersectionality, for example of living as a race and ethnic minority, and also in a larger body, with those, just those two, multiple those two intersecting marginalized identities, then, you know, it's really important for me that I take that into account in my work…” “It's really sad, actually, the discrimination that goes on you. Some people may call it microaggressions towards folks in larger bodies that are occurring in not just healthcare environments, but will focus on the healthcare environment.…” On This Episode You Will Learn: Weight-Inclusive Behavioral Health Interventions Intersectionality of Identities Integration with Nutritional Education Mixed Methods System Key Principles & Strategies in Food Freedom Research Team Connect with Yumlish! In this special sponsored episode, I'm joined by Ernie Wallerstein, CEO of Mental Health Technologies, or MHT. MHT is a cloud-based platform that enables health care clinicians to identify patients that may be suffering from undiagnosed or inadequately treated mental health and substance abuse disorders. As a primary care physician, I routinely see how behavioral health conditions like anxiety and depression affect more and more patients' lives. This is especially true as we emerge from the pandemic. The USPSTF has recently recommended screening all adults for anxiety. But given our time constraints and dozens of other screening tests and questions we have to squeeze into a 15-minute office visit, MHT's tools help address our behavioral health crisis.
