Ebenfalls serienmäßig spendiert Landrover dem Velar Auric Edition 20-Zoll-Aluräder.    Power und Drive!    Für die Motorisierung des neuen Sondermodells steht die gesamte Range Rover Velar Antriebspalette mit Vier- und Sechszylindertriebwerken bereit – dazu gehört auch der Plug-in Hybrid P400e mit 4-Zylinder-Turbobenziner Plug-in Hybrid, 297 kW (404 PS) und Automatikgetriebe, der nach NEFZ eine rein elektrische Reichweite von 61 Kilometern erlaubt und CO2-Emissionen von 53-52 g/km ausstößt. Der kombinierte Verbrauch nach NEFZ liegt bei 2,3l/100 km. Beim Range Rover Velar P400e besteht – ebenso wie bei den Plug-In Hybriden von Range Rover Evoque und Discovery Sport - die Möglichkeit einer CCS Schnelllademöglichkeit von bis zu maximal 32kW. Der Vollständigkeit halber: Tempo 100 wird nach 5,4 Sekunden erreicht, die Spitze liegt bei 209 km/h, rein elektrisch immerhin bei 140 km/h. Die Kosten!Der Range Rover Velar ist ab 59.315 Euro bestellbar, das Sondermodell Auric Edition ab 70.085 Euro. Besonders interessant ist es, den Wagen wegen der reduzierten Dienstwagenbesteuerung als Dienstfahrzeug zu nutzen. Beim Velar P400e werden als geldwerter Vorteil statt 1% vom vollen Bruttolistenpreis nur 0,5% des Bruttolistenpreises als Bemessungsgrundlage angesetzt. Die jetzt präsentierten P300e Varianten des britischen Duos kombinieren einen neuen, 147 kW (200 PS) starken 1.5 Liter Ingenium Dreizylinder-Benzinmotor samt Achtgangautomatik mit einem 80 kW (109 PS) leistenden Elektromotor als Hinterachsantrieb – ein Paket, das für niedrige Verbrauchswerte, hervorragende Leistungsdaten und die Land Rover typischen Qualitäten auf jedem Untergrund bürgt. The latest news is clear about the planned market launch this Summer - no change here. Frankly, there would be no point to delay anything as there are customers who placed orders and many of the 30,000 1ST cars were already produced. More than 200 workers are affected by the temporary work stoppage at Byton’s North American headquarters in Santa Clara, California – a research and development base focused on software design, with about 450 staff. The M-Byte was expected to initially release in mainland China, the world’s biggest car market, later this year. AUTOBLOG EASILY GOT 300 From Dan at Autoblog who has his regular test route: "The 2020 Porsche Taycan 4S covered 213.5 miles this time, and it finished the day with 87 miles left over. Those figures add up to an astounding projected range of 300.5 miles — a full 48% and a whopping 97.5 miles better than its rating. This doesn’t just back up my prior result, it underlines it and makes it bold. The Taycan, be it the Turbo or now 4S, can grossly exceed its EPA ratings while driving in a normal manner." Autoblog writes: "This result in the Taycan 4S is possible because all early-build cars are being made with the larger 93.4-kilowatt-hour (kWh) battery option that is the standard offering on Turbo models. These early 4S cars also come with a glass roof and an intelligent home charge cord, bringing the starting price up to $114,340 with destination included. The true base 4S and its 79.2-kWh battery won’t be built for some time, so we won’t know its official range (172-175, I’m guessing) until later. The new information was released by Andrej Karpathy, Tesla’s head of AI and computer vision, in a new presentation at the Scaled Machine Learning Conference. It was held at the end of February, but a video of the presentation was just released. When relaunching the referral program earlier this year, Tesla again used free Supercharging as an incentive but only with credits for 1,000 miles (5,000 miles until the end of the month). Now, Tesla is bringing back the full Free Unlimited Supercharging as an incentive separate from the referral program. That's according to Craig Irwin, a senior analyst at investment firm Roth Capital Partners, who said he has "complete confidence" in this information, but he doesn't know if the bid reached a "formal paperwork stage. Tesla had 114.5 million shares outstanding as of January 31, 2013, and that number increased throughout the year, so Apple's bid would have totaled at least $27.4 billion at the time. Now, the electric vehicle maker's shares are trading around the $203 mark, well below Apple's reported bid years ago. Continental explained at the 32nd Electric Vehicle Symposium (EVS32) in Lyon that the system will monitor when the battery pack needs the heat more than the car’s driver and passengers to maintain a usable working range. The smart heater can help to either heat up the cabin or the battery pack when it is too cold for the battery to accept electric energy from recuperation from regenerative braking. For that purpose the smart heater will turn electricity into heat that is available for appropriate use. The resident of Odessa, Sask., has put 1.7 million kilometres on his latest truck – a diesel-powered 2006 Kenworth W900 – hauling loads of up to 18,000 kilograms mostly across the Prairie provinces of Canada. And there is one thing he knows for certain. He will never buy an EV truck. Drivers say they don’t believe electric vehicles (EVs) can produce the sustained power needed to haul big loads long distances. All the reports you hear on the BBC, in the Daily Mail, on the radio about them not being ready yet, they don’t have the range, they are all utter total fabrication. It is incredibly easy to live with and use an electric car, in fact that has become my job now, to try and undermine that constant flow of fud – fear, uncertainty and doubt, the three easiest things to spread about new technology. It’s Martyn Lee here with the news you need to know about electric cars and the move towards sustainable transport.     US RESERVATIONS FOR THE AUDI E-TRON OPEN SEPTEMBER 2018 S. customers will be able to configure and reserve their 2019 Audi e-tron, the first all-electric vehicle from Audi, on Sept. 17. The e-tron will make its global debut on the same day at an event in San Francisco. T-minus 1 month 18 days. I'm excited for this one now! On Sept. 17, full e-tron specifications, including pricing, will be available at www.audiusa.com, giving customers the details needed to configure their e-tron and reserve their vehicle with a refundable $1,000 reservation fee. This new Audi reservation system is part of how Audi of America will create a digital ecosystem for Audi owners to confidently go electric. After customers place a reservation, they will be able to track it online and with their local dealer. Audi will share more details on this ecosystem and offerings for U.S. customers at the San Francisco event. As an electric SUV that includes integrated digital tools, in-home charging solutions and the support of Audi of America’s 303 dealer partners—e-tron owners can confidently choose electric performance knowing they have Audi support of a full ecosystem. "The 2019 E-Tron is a battery-powered, two-row crossover featuring dual electric motors and Audi’s brand new electric Quattro all-wheel drive system. Along with a range of about 245 miles from a 95kWh battery and, presumably, the automaker’s impressive driving dynamics, the SUV includes a number of integrated digital tools, in-home charging options, and what Audi describes as “ample cargo room and towing capacity.” reports Dan at New York Daily News. The E-Tron marks the first of three purely electric vehicles Audi plans to release by 2020. The company predicts that by 2025, up to 30 percent of its U.S. customers will have gone electric. Audi also touts a dedicated cooling system to help keep the battery operating at an optimal temperature, and to ensure repeatable performance. On top of that, Audi has put the e-tron Quattro's battery through extensive crash testing. According to Audi, the battery's "solid casing" is designed to withstand a collision. You can rapid charge at 150kW.   https://www.audiusa.com/models/e-tron-preview     MERCEDES EQC TO DEBUT IN STOCKHOLM Mercedes-Benz today confirmed the official premiere of the EQC production model on September 4, 2018 in Stockholm The EQC's two electric motors - front and rear - each with about 150 kW, should mean 0-60 in less than five seconds. However the battery on the EQC is smaller than the Audi, at 70kWh, and they're promising 400+kms. CCS DC Fast Charging will be possible up to 115kW. I've said before those numbers confuse me, either somewhere along the way the specs are wrong and the battery will be larger, or the range won’t be that far. How can a 2.5tonne SUV get 18Kwh/100kms? That's up there amongst very efficient cars. The Jaguar I-PACE certainly doesn't do 18kWh / 100km, if anyone listening now knows of a road test which has measured it, i'd love to know.   AUTO TRADER REVEALS THE BEST ELECTRIC CARS OF 2018 Auto Trader has published a list of the best electric and hybrid cars according to affordability, luxury and range. The Renault Zoe has been named the best budget option, while the Tesla Model S has been named as the best for long ranges.   The best budget option - Renault Zoe The Renault Zoe has been ranked as the best budget option. It’s one of the cheaper options on offer, and it can also be bought on a deal where you lease the battery from Renault, making the purchase price even more affordable. What’s more, the Zoe is smart-looking with a hi-tech interior, and also has a five-star Euro NCAP crash test rating.   The best for long ranges - Tesla Model S A single charge of the Tesla Model S can get you almost 400 miles, making it a more viable option for consumers wanting to do more than pop into town. It boasts serious performance and some clever interior technology including a 17-inch touch-screen up front.   The most aspirational - BMW i3 BMW has delivered a truly aspirational electric car, thanks not only to its badge, but also to its sharp, innovative design. It gives you plenty of speed and fun handling, too. The i3 car comes with a premium price tag, but you certainly get a premium product for your money.   The most understated - Volkswagen e-Golf The e-Golf looks a lot like its non-electric counterpart, except with blue-tinted headlights and a different front grille. And, like any other Golf, it boasts all the same attributes - meaning high quality, family car practicality and a sophisticated driving experience - but with the added bonus of zero exhaust pollutants.   The best British-built option - Nissan Leaf The British-built Leaf was the first vehicle to convince people in large numbers that an electric car was something to consider, and now there's a new one. Built in Sunderland, with an improved battery, more power, bigger range and better affordability, it is the perfect option for the middleweight buyer.     TESLA PRODUCTION RISING TOWARD 7,000 VEHICLES A WEEK Zach at Clean Technica has been tracking Tesla production numbers and quoting a Twitter user who claims to have an insider who supplies daily Tesla production numbers. Of course there's no proof! "If you look at the broad trend, you see slow production growth over the past month, with some dips and with some days over 1,000/vehicles a day. The last update put yesterday’s daily production total at 1,100, with 780 of those being Model 3s. Of course, 1,100/day = 7,700/week if you extrapolate. But if you want the source of Tesla news, not a random Twitter account, from Elon himself is a good place to start: "He indicated a few days ago that Tesla has risen to ~6,000 Model S, X, and 3 per week, but many people have taken that ~6,000 to mean just the US because of what prefaced it, which could mean ~7,000 globally. Either way, we’re getting up there."   LAND ROVER'S LEAST PRICEY MODEL DUE FOR MAKEOVER, PLUG-IN VARIANT "The Discovery Sport serves as an entry point to the Land Rover lineup, retailing in the U.S. for $37,795 before delivery and offering a similarly sized, cheaper alternative to its Range Rover Evoque platform mate." according to The Truth About Cars: "the Discovery Sport undergoes a significant revamp for 2020, and should make its public debut early next year. A hybrid version of the model will appear (though whether it will be available at launch isn’t known), combining a new three-cylinder engine with an electric motor. A plug-in hybrid variant is also on the horizon, as are mild hybrid models."   FCA REVEALS THEIR PLANS FOR HYBRIDS AND ELECTRIC VEHICLES FCA has finally released the details about their introduction to the two new auto markets.   The Plan…Over the next five years, FCA released these specifics about their plans: Invest $10 billion into electric vehicle development between 2018 – 2022 Place a larger focus on the breadwinners of the FCA Group: Jeep, Ram, Maserati, and Alfa Romeo Move away from diesels and methane-powered engines Produce 14 electric vehicles and four battery-electric vehicles for Jeep by 2021 Mixing up SRT and electric vehicles by making performance-oriented electric vehicles Compete with Tesla by making electric versions of popular Maserati models Expand the Fiat 500e with a wagon model     BIG AUTOMAKERS ARE BREAKING THEMSELVES APART TO COMPETE WITH SILICON VALLEY "Daimler AG, the parent company of Mercedes-Benz, is splitting itself up into three companies in order to make itself “fit for the future,” the automaker announced today. Mercedes-Benz, Daimler’s truck division, and Daimler’s mobility division will all become independent entities as a result of the effort " according to Sean O'Kane at The Verge: "By splitting these different pursuits into more discrete companies, Daimler says it hopes to give each one more “entrepreneurial freedom,” stronger “market and customer focus,” and the ability to strike up “faster and more flexible partnerships” in order to better compete in the constantly evolving auto industry. On Monday, Ford spun out a new entity called Ford Autonomous Vehicles LLC. Nissan Navara La fabbrica Nissan di Barcellona è pronta per il debutto produttivo della nuova generazione del pick-up Navara, primo veicolo commerciale della Casa con garanzia di 5 anni. Il Navara NP300, appena presentato allo IAA di Francoforte, uscirà da una linea produttiva inedita per la quale Nissan ha investito 80 milioni di Euro. E a seguire le News di Autolink Land Rover alla Barcolana 2015 Si è svolta il weekend scorso la 47esima edizione di Barcolana – storica gara che ogni anno, la seconda domenica di ottobre, raduna a Trieste oltre 25.000 velisti – per un fine settimana all’insegna dello sport e della competizione. Protagonista Land Rover, Official Partner della manifestazione per il terzo anno consecutivo e Main Partner dell’Extreme Sailing Series. Il marchio Briatnnico ha anche partecipato alle competizioni con il Land Rover Extreme Sailing Team su un catamarano di 12 metri Extreme 40. La kermesse di vela è stata l’occasione per presentare in anteprima nazionale la Range Rover Evoque MY2016 e la nuova Discovery Sport. Supercar Roma “È il Salone che a Roma mancava”. Così il testimonial Giancarlo Fisichella aveva presentato al Campidoglio la seconda edizione di Supercar, rassegna dedicata all’auto non convenzionale che si è svolta lo scorso weekend alla Fiera di Roma. Il salone dell’auto da sogno ha registrato nel weekend ben 48.620 visitatori, a dispetto del meteo avverso. Cifre importanti, perché si tratta di quasi il 15% di affluenza in più rispetto allo scorso anno. Un trend in crescita, che conferma la formula vincente: un condensato di emozioni con vetture da competizione, modelli artigianali realizzati con dedizione sartoriale, prototipi ecologici e auto di serie top di gamma. A disposizione 75 mila metri quadrati di spazi espositivi, di cui 35 mila interni e 40 mila di aree esterne, che hanno ospitato esibizioni degli stunt, sfilate delle supercar e test. Supercar, grazie alla Peter Pan Onlus, ha anche dato la possibilità ai meno fortunati di vivere una giornata speciale. Nissan Navara La fabbrica Nissan di Barcellona è pronta per il debutto produttivo della nuova generazione del pick-up Navara, primo veicolo commerciale della Casa con garanzia di 5 anni. Il Navara NP300, appena presentato allo IAA di Francoforte, uscirà da una linea produttiva inedita per la quale Nissan ha investito 80 milioni di Euro. Il motore è un efficiente 2.3 dCi e le sue caratteristiche di comfort e guidabilità sempre più vicine a quelle dei moderni crossover, settore in cui Nissan è leader con Quashqai, Juke e X-Trail. Il comfort della nuova generazione di Navara è stato sensibilmente incrementato attraverso una revisione radicale degli spazi interni e all’utilizzo di nuove sospensioni multi-link in grado di accrescere anche il piacere di guida.

Citroën Aircross concept Citroen ha scelto Shangai per svelare la concept Aircross, un SUV decisamente fuori dal comune che riprende in parte i temi stilistici proposti sulla C4 Cactus con silhouette sviluppata in orizzontale ed elementi grafici di rilievo come gli Alloy Bump, reinterpretazione degli Airbump della C4 Cactus, gli Air Signs, firma cromata che sottolinea il vetro posteriore lasciando passare l’aria da un tunnel e gli Air Curtain nella parte anteriore. Il colore della carrozzeria è un rosso aranciato intenso, interrotto alla base di retrovisori, calandra, Air Signs e ganci traino da dettagli in metallo grezzo. Luminoso, colorato e tecnologico l’abitacolo dove la pelle bianca contrasta con quella arancio e dove spiccano poggiatesta avvolgenti e due display panoramici HD da 12 pollici, uno dei quali motorizzato ed orientabile. Con questa premessa Land Rover ha lanciato il nuovo Discovery Sport, modello inedito all'interno della completissima gamma del brand specializzato in fuoristrada ed in grado di unire caratteristiche proprie della famiglia Land Rover con forme vicine a quelle delle Range Rover. Una sorta di anello di congiunzione tra le due anime del brand, quindi, in grado di soddisfare le richieste di un cliente nuovo che può ritrovare in un veicolo la praticità e la concretezza tipiche Land Rover, con un'immagine che riprende tratti di Evoque e Sport. Discovery Sport offre un’abitabilità interna da primato con la possibilità, unica della categoria, dei 5+2 posti con, tra l'altro, la seconda fila di sedili scorrevole longitudinalmente e regolabile individualmente. Renault ci ha abituato a non dare mai niente per scontato e anche nel rinnovare l’inossidabile Espace, pioniera tra le monovolume, la Casa francese ha saputo innovare e rivoluzionare il concetto di auto spaziosa da viaggio per il tempo libero. Espace è ora più crossover che monovolume, ma mantiene la spaziosità, la versatilità ed il comfort che la hanno resa famosa. Milano Design Week: le Case Auto protagoniste del fuori salone. Nuove vetture, ma soprattutto oggetti di stile ispirati alle linee delle loro gamme. Sono ben otto i quartieri coinvolti quest’anno, in quella che è diventata la settimana più importante per il mondo del design; da Brera alle 5 Vie, da Porta Venezia a Tortona, da Lambrate a Sarpi Bridge, da San Gregorio a Sant’Ambrogio, la città si anima con una serie di fuorisalone in cui le Case Auto hanno molto da dire a partire dal Gruppo PSA che con suoi tre marchi espone tre diverse visioni. Parte Citroen con un vero e proprio manifesto di design, abbinando forma e funzionalità. Una correlazione fondamentale perché il design non sia un esercizio fine a se stesso. Mini collabora con il designer e artista spagnolo Jaime Hayon, che da la sua interpretazione di mobilità urbana con due diverse configurazioni di MINI Citysurfer Concept. Il team Design BMW e il noto designer Alfredo Häberli hanno invece elaborato un’installazione che affronta i valori della mobilità del futuro partendo dal leitmotiv “Precision and Poetry”. Chiudiamo il nostro viaggio nel fuorisalone con Jaguar e Land Rover. Il Giaguaro ha creato una interpretazione della sua Word Cloud, una struttura in alluminio che riproduce la sagoma della nuova XE attraverso 95 parole in 7 lingue diverse, mentre Land Rover ha presentato in Piazza Gae Aulenti l’installazione “Unstoppable Spirit” ispirata al design della Discovery Sport, frutto della collaborazione tra l’artista Nino Mustica e il capo stile Gerry McGovern. Campionato Italiano Rally: il leone colpisce ancora Paolo Andreucci domina con la sua Peugeot 208 T16 il Rallye di Sanremo chiudendo 1° davanti alla Ford Fiesta di Basso, riscattando così lo sfortunato esordio del Rally del Ciocco.
