President Trump casually mentioned that the U.S. will have its first TRILLION dollar military budget. This does not, in any sense, sound like a government looking to cut waste, fraud and abuse. We have been bankrupted (economically, and more importantly, morally) by a century of endless wars. The federal debt continues to rise, even with total Republican control. This is all bad news for our nation.

In this episode of Uncommon Sense with Ginny Robinson, I'm giving my take (to the best of my ability—because I'm not a tariff expert and neither are most of the people chiming in right now) on Trump's gutsy new tariff move. It's the one that's got half the country cheering and the other half clutching their pearls. While the media yells “economic suicide,” I'm here to suggest that this strategy might actually work—but not overnight. We'll talk about the possibility of long-term gain, the reality of short-term discomfort, and the cultural obsession with instant results when what's often required is patience. I will also go over our collective short attention spans and why longer attention spans are needed for understanding complex issues like this. Every answer won't fit in a 15 second soundbite. At the end of the day, we'll have to pray, wait, and see. Some of the smartest plays take time to unfold.—https://noblegoldinvestments.com/learn/gold-and-silver-guide/?utm_campaign=21243613394&utm_source=g&utm_medium=cpc&utm_content=&utm_term=noble%20gold&seg_aprod=&ad_id=698073353663&oid=2&affid=1&utm_source=google&affiliate_source=googleads_brand_bmbc&utm_term=noble%20gold&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAADQ2DzJSJ_mi5cJo8dO2FNUs7uNy-&gclid=CjwKCAjwktO_BhBrEiwAV70jXtjSCyioSM2Hz1McTAlR3f8t3KCDDN3-XBWLaIzwJmiEGe0ztxIk5RoCnM0QAvD_BwE

Professor Bill Mitchell is an economist at the University of Newcastle. In addition to being one of the founding figures of Modern Monetary Theory, Mitchell has also been preoccupied by the interplay of culture and economics that led to the death of the left over the course of the last fifty years. We sit down with him to trace the economic transformations that gradually eroded class consciousness and replaced it with divisive identity politics, the role of shadowy thinktank money in the transformation, and to understand qui bono from the complete absence of a salient leftist critique of the modern day. This is because the mark of the beast is an economic system that's designed to force believers to conform to worldly non-Christ-like norms and practices.   Partner with Us: https://churchforentrepreneurs.com/partner Connect with Us: https://churchforentrepreneurs.com

Send us a textCan art and design reshape the future of our economic systems? Join us for a compelling conversation with Eric Meier, formerly Greta, co-founder of the International Network for Democratic and Economic Planning, as we explore the unexpected marriage of aesthetics and economic ideologies. As we move beyond the cold, impersonal visuals of Soviet-era command economies, discover how new representations of democratic economic planning are emerging, particularly in recent German publications. Eric shares insights on how to align the aesthetics of economic models with present-day sensibilities, offering fresh perspectives on visuals that once seemed archaic. Meier's exhibition can be seen here. Witness how the revival of retro internet aesthetics like Y2K and Frutiger Aero are not merely nostalgic trips but transformative tools in making complex economic ideas more approachable. Eric talks about the potential of these styles to shift perceptions and engage a broader audience in a dialogue about democratic planning. We explore the importance of eclectic and imaginative imagery in diminishing notions of elitism and totalitarianism, highlighting how visual storytelling can render abstract political concepts tangible and relatable. We also critique early 20th-century command economies and their aesthetic footprints, juxtaposing brutalist nostalgia against innovative Southern Hemisphere architecture. The conversation turns towards the limitations of market economies and how technological advancements offer new solutions, reshaping consumer choices and simplifying experiences. Eric's personal journey through various sectors underscores the vital role of aesthetics in shaping both perception and participation in economic planning, emphasizing the power of design and data visualization to inspire and educate. Join us as we reimagine the visuals that define our economic narratives and explore the potential of art and design to craft a vision of a more democratic future. Support the showCrew:Host: C. Manda critiques current economic systems and advocates for serotonin-driven behaviours over dopamine-centric lifestyles, emphasising transformative corporate governance models and changes in media. Through a thrutopian lens, Manda promotes value-based systems prioritising stakeholder representation and environmental sustainability. In this episode of Crazy Wisdom, Stewart Alsop interviews Jeno Giordano, an adventurer with a diverse background in fitness, underwater welding, offshore construction, and institutional finance. Jeno shares his incredible journey, beginning with how he faced his fear of drowning by becoming an underwater welder. He recounts the adrenaline-filled moments of working deep in the ocean, from demolition dives to narrowly avoiding life-threatening situations. They also explore his transition to working as a VIP host in Las Vegas and his dive into finance and blockchain. Jeno's path weaves through conquering fear, mastering high-risk environments, and eventually conceptualizing new economic and governance systems. This decision became a transformative experience, teaching him to face challenges head-on. His story emphasizes how facing primal fears can lead to profound personal growth. The Unseen World of Offshore Construction: Jeno's career in underwater welding exposed the audience to the high-risk, high-reward environment of offshore construction. From welding pipes on oil rigs to handling explosives, he detailed the physical and mental endurance required for such a dangerous job. His experiences highlight the incredible work done in unseen, extreme environments.Importance of Adaptability: Jeno's transition from a deep-sea diver to a VIP host in Las Vegas illustrates the importance of being adaptable and open to new opportunities. Despite the stark contrast between the roles, Jeno leveraged his unique background to connect with people from around the world, showing how diverse experiences can lead to unexpected opportunities.Insights into Institutional Finance and Blockchain: During his time in institutional finance, Jeno learned how massive sums of money move discreetly through "dark pools" and over-the-counter (OTC) trading. He emphasized that much of the world's financial system operates behind the scenes, challenging public perceptions about how wealth and liquidity are managed on global markets. The Earth as an Economic Asset: One of the key insights Jeno shared is the idea of viewing the Earth itself as the most valuable asset. In his work on Earth Economics, he advocates for a new way of valuing natural resources and revising how we calculate global wealth by considering the intrinsic value of the planet's ecosystems.A Vision for a New Governance Model: Jeno's concept of "Earthtocracy" is a proposed new governance structure designed to address the limitations of current democratic and centralized systems. His model aims to create a more functional and balanced global society by taking the best aspects of various governance systems and applying them in a way that respects both individual and collective needs.Balancing Decentralization and Globalism: Jeno explained the paradox of decentralization in modern society, where, despite fears of centralization, we are fragmented into countless local and global power structures. He argues for a shift in perspective, urging people to view the Earth as a singular colony and create systems that are more interconnected and cooperative on a global scale.

Illegal immigration and border issues have long been a contentious topic, sparking intense debates over national security, human rights, and economic impact. With Mexico's refusal to accept migrants under the new Texas law and rising concerns about criminals infiltrating the U.S, the conversation has only grown more complex. In the midst of this melting pot of perspectives, Mike Lomas and Mike Sperrazza offer their unique viewpoints based on years of observation and personal experiences. For Mike Lomas, the current immigration policies are facilitating the entrance of criminals from other countries into the U.S while disfavoring law-abiding citizens. He is particularly bothered by the easy access illegal immigrants have to benefits and opportunities legal citizens have to strive for. On a similar note, Mike Sperrazza shows deep concern over countries like Mexico and Venezuela sending criminals to the U.S, while refusing to accept their own migrants. He underscores the need for stringent border control and strict immigration policies to safeguard American citizens and their interests. Political corruption and bias are contentious issues that have long been a part of the global political landscape. Glenn Wiggle, Mike Lomas, and Mike Sperrazza, each with their unique perspectives, shed light on these issues. Wiggle, deeply cynical of the political system, believes that corruption and bias are deeply ingrained within it, with party loyalty often overshadowing race and ethics. He also underscores the role of money in politics, suggesting that individuals can amass wealth while in office without facing consequences. Lomas, on the other hand, criticizes the media for its double standards and lack of accountability, suggesting a systemic problem with corruption and bias in politics. He also touches on racial and ethnic discrimination, implying that certain groups are unfairly targeted. Sperrazza echoes similar sentiments, highlighting the double standards in the justice system and the lack of accountability among politicians. It is an expression of practical realism embedded in a deep respect for allmanifestations of life; past, present, human, more-than-human, the sacred and the machine. This economyseeks to move beyond the everyday codes of property, labour, capital and private contracts and break freefrom the constrictive dance of socio-political isms. It offers an unbounded understanding of agency, invitingthe full range of adjacent possibilities, thus refuting the exploitation of the many for the benefit of the few."and then a few paragraphs down, "At its core, this is a provocation of the heart. An invitation to cultivate lives of profound collaboration, dignity, psychological and physical freedom. It is a framework meshed in human embodied experience that criticallyincludes machine and non-human systems, integrating them into the same expansive beyond-paradigm ofinter-becoming."The two papers are in the show notes and they're definitely worth reading. In the meantime, this conversation moved even beyond these into whole new areas that, once again with DML, breached the boundaries of my thinking - in a good way.  Dark Matter Labs https://darkmatterlabs.org/Life Ennobling Economics Position Paper https://drive.google.com/file/d/1EiU8MQ3JKtuCJIUTrxkl2Fzx0xWBiWDu/viewLife Ennobling Economics Concept White Paper https://drive.google.com/file/d/1hNpgVEyYiERE0Jj3gczUfK9ki9GmrFRm/viewBlog on BioRegional Banks Part 1: https://provocations.darkmatterlabs.org/towards-multivalent-currencies-bioregional-monetary-stewardship-and-a-distributed-global-reserve-dac459dc844e Blog on BioRegional Banks Part 2: https://provocations.darkmatterlabs.org/towards-multivalent-currencies-bioregional-monetary-stewardship-and-a-distributed-global-reserve-38ed3849395fBlog on BioRegional Banks Part 3: https://provocations.darkmatterlabs.org/towards-multivalent-currencies-bioregional-monetary-stewardship-and-a-distributed-global-reserve-951ca09dd76dBlog on BioRegional Banks Part 4: The Swedish Cornerstone prototype was co-developed with Linnéa Rönnquist with the support of SamhällskontraktetEmily Harris in Episode #176 https://accidentalgods.life/bridging-from-the-necessary-to-the-possible-with-emily-harris-of-dark-matter-labs/Indy Johar Episode #205 https://accidentalgods.life/becoming-intentional-gods-claiming-the-future-with-indy-johar-of-the-dark-matter-labs/
