"Il tallone da killer" di Alessandro Robecchi e i romanzi Romance di RokiaAlessandro Robecchi è uno scrittore conosciuto per i suoi noir sempre un po' graffianti e ironici, con un pizzico di critica sociale. Il suo protagonista seriale è Carlo Monterossi, autore tv che si diletta nelle indagini insieme all'amico detective privato Oscar Falcone. Ma poi ci sono anche i sovrintendenti di polizia Ghezzi e Carella. Stavolta, però, Robecchi ha preso una pausa dai suoi personaggi e ha scritto una black commedy: "Il tallone da killer" (Sellerio). Una commedia nera, dicevamo, che prende in giro con ironia e sarcasmo il mondo dei killer su commissione. I protagonisti sono due uomini, il Biondo e l'uomo con la cravatta, che hanno creato una vera e propria società che si dedica agli omicidi. Chi li vuole ingaggiare deve scrivere un necrologio con alcune parole chiave. Ma anche nel mondo dei killer su commissione c'è concorrenza: c'è chi abbassa troppo i prezzi o fa una sorta di black friday e i due si indispettiscono.Nella seconda parte parliamo di una delle massime esponenti del genere Romance che da anni domina le classifiche. Ha esordito su wattpad, la piattaforma di scrittura, nel 2016 con uno pseudonimo. I suoi scritti hanno avuto milioni di letture e così è stata notata da una casa editrice, Magazzini Salani, che ha iniziato a pubblicare i suoi romanzi. Parliamo di Rokia. I suoi sono amati dalle giovanissime anche perché ha la capacità di raccontare con sensibilità il dolore e il disagio psichico. Il nuovo romanzo si intitola "Guilty - Burn for love" ed è l'atteso seguito di "Guilty - Drunk in love". Ma il debutto era avvenuto nel 2022 con "The truth untold" seguito da "Sindrome".

Dai documenti dell'Archivio di Stato di Parma è infatti emerso il certificato di nascita del suo antenato Luigi Ghezzi. «Ci sono diversi alberi genealogici che poi prendono strade diverse, ognuna delle quali è verificata attraverso documenti reali - ha concluso Ghezzi -. Uno di questi alberi riportava Borgo Ascoli come città di origine, ecco perché inizialmente si è giunti a questa conclusione». Il sindaco di Ascoli ha già dichiarato che concederà lo stesso la cittadinanza a Russell Crowe.

Abstract: In clinical neuroscience, the segmentation of the main white matter bundles is a mandatory premise for pre-operative neurosurgical planning, neuro-rehabilitation prognosis and monitoring of neuro-related diseases. The automation of the task of bundle segmentation is achieving a good accuracy on healthy individuals taking advantage of data driven approaches and deep learning models. The lack of large clinical datasets is preventing the translation of these results to patients. Inference on patients data with model trained on healthy population is not effective because of domain shift. This study aims to carry out an empirical analysis to investigate how techniques of transfer learning might be beneficial to overcome these limitations. For our analysis, we consider an open publicly available dataset with hundreds of individuals and a clinical dataset with several tens of glioma patients. We focus our preliminary investigation on corticospinal tract. The results show that transfer learning might be effective to overcome the component of domain shift related to systemic bias. Nevertheless, the alterations induced by the tumors are not successfully managed by transfer learning and are still preventing the successful translation of model trained on healthy population. Ci sono degli alberghi in montagna che come soluzione stanno pensando di chiudere, per evitare l'aumento di consumi, nei periodi dell'anno in cui c'è un basso flusso di persone che va in vacanza: «Bisogna tener presente che gli aumenti che gravano su di noi come aziende, purtroppo gravano anche sui nostri sciatori. Chiudere secondo me non è la soluzione, anche se capisco che per alcune realtà piccole, l'apertura in questa situazione è anti economica».

La protagonista ha veramente una grande sete di libertà, vuole conquistarla a qualunque costo, anche attraverso il denaro, denaro che le è mancato quando era piccola. Per lei la bellezza, i vestiti, le scarpe, le cose apparentemente futili, sono anche un modo per opporsi a quel contesto familiare che pensa più alla morte che alla vita. La protagonista non ha un nome, ma dalle vicende che si descrivono e dai nomi che vengono fatti si intuisce che l'autrice abbia creato un mix fra vita vera e finzione. Il romanzo si intitola "Strega comanda colore" (Mondadori) di Chiara Tagliaferri, autrice insieme a Michela Murgia del famoso podcast "Morgana", diventato anche un libro. Nella seconda parte "Una piccola questione di cuore" di Alessandro Robecchi (Sellerio). Nei suoi noir con Carlo Monterossi (autore tv prestato alle indagini) Robecchi mette a fuoco le storture della società, le contraddizioni, i meccanismi criminali che a volte coinvolgono persone insospettabili. Stavolta decide, però, di mettere sotto la lente di ingrandimento anche l'amore. E così i lettori seguono le riflessioni di Monterossi sull'amore, ma anche quelle degli altri personaggi come il sovrintendente di polizia Ghezzi, sposato da trent'anni con Rosa, e il collega Carella che finalmente frequenta una donna. Questo è un romanzo a tre voci: Alma, italiana che vive a New York, "lo scrittore" e Lola, che è stata a lungo compagna dello scrittore. Alma e lo scrittore sono amanti, ma con Lola non ci sono tensioni o gelosia, anzi fra le due donne c'è quasi una sorellanza soprattutto dopo che lo scrittore si suicida. Nel romanzo le riflessioni esistenziali sulla vita e sulla morte si intersecano con le riflessioni sulle radici e sull'essere immigrati (lo scrittore e Lola arrivano dalla Colombia e Lola è clandestina).

Abstract: Development of the cortical circuits for sensory-motor processing require the coordinated integration of both columnar and long-range synaptic connections. To understand how this occurs at the level of individual neurons we have explored the timeline over which vasoactive intestinal peptide (VIP)-expressing interneurons integrate into mouse somatosensory cortex. We find a distinction in emergent long-range anterior-motor and columnar glutamatergic inputs onto layer (L)2 and L3 VIP+ interneurons respectively. In parallel, VIP+ interneurons form efferent connections onto both pyramidal cells and interneurons in the immediate column in an inside-out manner. Cell-autonomous deletion of the fate-determinant transcription factor, Prox1, spares long-range anterior-motor inputs onto VIP+ interneurons, but leads to deficits in local connectivity. This imbalance in the somatosensory circuit results in altered spontaneous and sensory-evoked cortical activity in vivo. This identifies a critical role for VIP+ interneurons, and more broadly interneuron heterogeneity, in formative circuits of neocortex. Copy rights belong to original authors. Abstract: Parkinson's disease motor symptoms are associated with an increase in subthalamic nucleus beta band oscillatory power. But these oscillations are phasic, and there is a growing body of evidence suggesting that beta burst duration may be of critical importance to motor symptoms, making insights into the dynamics of beta bursting generation valuable. In this study, we ask the question ''Can average burst duration reveal how dynamics change between the ON and OFF medication states?''. Our analysis of local field potentials from the subthalamic nucleus demonstrates using linear surrogates that the system generating beta oscillations acts in a more non-linear regime OFF medication and that the change in the degree of non-linearity is correlated with motor impairment. Further, we pinpoint specific dynamical changes responsible for changes in the temporal patterning of beta oscillations between medication states by fitting to data biologically inspired models, and simpler beta envelope models. Finally, we show that the non-linearity can be directly extracted from average burst duration profiles under the assumption of constant noise in envelope models. This reveals that average burst duration profiles provide a window into burst dynamics, which may underlie the success of burst duration as a biomarker. In summary, we demonstrate a relationship between average burst duration profiles, dynamics of the system generating beta oscillations, and motor impairment, which puts us in a better position to understand the pathology and improve therapies such as deep brain stimulation.
