It's now common knowledge that the global food supply chain has been under attack and intentionally undermined in order for the globalists to create food shortages, poverty, and civil chaos to further their agenda. The full impact of the convid manipulations and the supply chain disruptions is yet to be fully felt, so it's not too late to start adapting to the "interesting" times we'll be living in over the next few years. To help you make those adaptations (if you haven't already), I'm honoured to welcome Marjory Wildcraft to the show as both a guest and our new show sponsor. Marjory is the female leader of the Survival and Preparedness movement. In 2009 she founded The Grow Network, which is a community of people focused on modern self-sufficient living, but has been growing her own food - and helping others do the same - for 20 years now. Marjory digs into which countries and cities have been hit by food shortages already, food riots and protests, the strange weather of late, the poisoning of Ohio, Agenda 2030, crop failures, Russia's and Ukraine's role in supplying the world's food, the Hunga-Tonga-Hunga-Ha'apai volcano eruption on 15 January 2022, the ozone hole, Snap payments in America, and of course, how to adapt to our uncertain times by growing massive amounts of your own food in a very small space, even if you have no experience. She also shares other strategies and tips for making it through this decade unscathed - don't miss it. Special Guest: Marjory Wildcraft.
Today's Teaching: 7 Biblical Violations of Global Food Supply
Klaus Schwab and his World Economic Forum attendees meet in Davos to deliver speeches and plans to bring the world under full control of the technocrats. As the United States suffers from national security and economic issues the evil thought leaders of the world meet to further its demise. As food shortages continue to worsen consumers in the United States are facing an even worse problem with mRNA vaccines that are to be delivered to the food supply through livestock. The consequences of mRNA vaccines are already witnessed worldwide as sudden deaths are occurring in the most healthy of people. Delivering it to our food supply quickly shrinks the availability of a healthy, nutrient rich food for consumers. To make matters worse they are suggesting mRNA vaccines for honey bees which are already threatened due to corporate farmers through herbicides and pesticides. Will this also threaten those that refuse to take the WHO and Big Pharma transhumanist vaccinations?Dr. Mark Sherwood reveals the proper understanding of nutrients and food supply for the people versus the programming to accept caloric intake. Through the proper thought process people can avoid the crisis of the food supply and tainted grocery stores. Are people at risk due to food being injected with mRNA? If they are then what are the options and plans they should take?Dustin and Dr. Mark Sherwood reveal the programming through the school systems, media, and healthcare that have given way to the crisis we faced from the Covid-19 bio-weapon and its second effort through vaccines.Only the people can change course with the proper information. How can systems thinking be applied to the global food supply? My guest today, Lauren Baker, is Deputy Director, Global Alliance for the Future of Food, a unique coalition of global philanthropic foundation members. We discuss her inspiring project, Beacons of Hope, which showcases global initiatives that are working to achieve sustainable, equitable, and resilient food systems.
Is the global food supply vulnerable to cyber criminals? The agriculture industry is not typically the first that comes to mind when discussing cyber attacks, but cybercrime is a real threat to today's modern agriculture. "Smart" farm machinery is vulnerable to malicious hackers, leaving local and global supply chains exposed to risk. Bruce Droz sits down with the Alliant cyber team, Bobby Horn, Meghan O'Malley and David Finz to explore what agribusiness companies can do (and what not to do) when a cyber crisis hits.
David Fiorazo and John Haller discuss some good news first on SCOTUS cases, then tackle the concerning fertility rate of major nations; airline pilot shortages, farming and food supply chain issues, Israel, Iran, Russia, Ukraine, and how current news fits into Bible prophecy. This didn't happen overnight, however there has been a sharp escalation over the last two years towards a goal that seems to be fixed on causing global famine in addition to the deliberate reduction in other necessary resources. Unless, of course, you believe that it's just coincidence that in the last two years 22 food plants have been destroyed, over 30 million chickens have been culled this year, 150,000 ducks have been slaughtered in Quebec, Ireland is planning to kill 1 million sheep and cattle to meet ridiculous climate emissions targets, and encephalitis has been reported in Australian piggeries. This is all happening on top of the supply chain issues that we are already suffering from, not because of the virus, but because of our governments chosen response to it. In addition to this attack on our supply of meat, meat alternatives are being highly incentivized while at the same time hedge funds are purchasing mass amounts of land around the world, Bill Gates is the largest farmland owner in the US at 242,000 acres, and the Biden Administration is paying farmers not to farm. Briefing by Arif Husain, World Food Programme's Chief Economist, and Rein Paulsen, the Food and Agriculture Organization's Director of Emergencies, on the Launch of the 2022 Global Report on Food Crises.Nearly 193 million people in the world are in acute food insecurity, an increase of 40 million people in one year, according to a new UN report. The Global Report on Food Crisis released today jointly by the Global Network against Food Crisis (FAO, WFP and the EU) and the Food Security Information Network (FSIN) revealed that in 2021 nearly 193 million people were experiencing acute food insecurity in 53 countries or territories. This represents an increase of nearly 40 million people from the previous year confirming an alarming trend: acute food insecurity has been on the rise over the last six years. This year-on-year increase is largely the result of worsening acute food insecurity and attributable to expanded geographical coverage of analyses.Major food crisis countries remain those suffering from protracted conflicts like Afghanistan, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ethiopia, Nigeria, South Sudan, Syria and Yemen.Conflict continues to be the main cause of hunger in the world, pushing some 139 million people in 24 countries in acute food insecurity, followed by economic shocks, for example in Pakistan and Haiti, and climate change. Increasingly, frequent and severe weather extremes have been the main driver of acute food insecurity for 23.5 million people in eight African countries in 2021.Forecasts for 2022 show that the impact of protracted conflict and related displacement, often in tandem with macroeconomic shocks and extreme weather events will intensify and prolong acute food insecurity conditions. The war in Ukraine is expected to have dire consequences for global food security following the displacement of millions of Ukrainians and widespread destruction of infrastructure and livelihoods. Severe repercussions are expected at regional and global level, as many food crisis countries rely heavily on Ukraine and Russia for staple food supplies, especially wheat and fertilizers.
With more and more items being (Out Of Stock) on grocery store shelves and on Amazon Fresh and Instacart what are we doing to protect our food supply around the globe? This week, RBI director John Torpey talks with Catherine Bertini, top expert in food security issues and former director of the UN World Food Programme about the War in Ukraine's consequences for the world's supply, the decisive actors, how is all related to price increases, the main victims of a food shortage, the violence that this can carry, and how through dietary alternatives and the relocation of crops the world can cope with the effects of this shortage.
What impact will the war in Ukraine and the sanctions on Russia have on our global food supply? We are seeing the price of oil impact both consumers at the gas pump, and industries reliant on gas to transport goods and services. Newt's guest is Ambassador Kip Tom. Kees Huizinga has been farming in Ukraine for 20 years with 15,000 hectares of crops and 2000 dairy cows on land between the capital Kyiv and the port of Odesa. Charlotte Smith asks him how the season is progressing as the war continues. Meanwhile, the increased price of fuel and fertiliser is beginning to bite. Dairy farmers call for consumers to pay around fifty per cent more for their milk. And a report published by the Scottish Environment and Forestry Directorate last month outlines barriers to people leaving farming as well as barriers to new entrants - so is that a problem and if so, how do we fix it? Russia and Ukraine account for nearly 30 per cent of the exports of the world's wheat, 17 per cent of corn, 32 per cent of barley, and 75 per cent of sunflower seed oil. So what happens when war puts pressure on the global food supply chain? See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Russia and Ukraine supply nearly one-quarter of the world's wheat which feeds billions of people around the world. The war in Ukraine has not only cut off supply to wheat and other important exports like sunflower oil, barley and fertilizer, it has also raised the price of those products. Wheat prices are now 21% higher than last month. For regions like the Middle East and Africa, which rely on Ukrainian crops, the increase in cost and decrease in supply means many could go hungry. We'll look at the important role Ukraine plays in the global food supply chain, the impacts the war is having on it, and what is being done to prevent a deepening global hunger crisis.
One of Ukraine's biggest food producers has warned of the impact of war on food supply. Dr John Rich is the chairman of MHP, and tells us further Russian advances in Ukraine could prevent farmers from sowing seeds for this year's crops. And we consider the importance of Russia and Ukraine's food production to the global food chain with Arnaud Petit, director of the International Grains Council. Also in the programme, the BBC's Ed Butler explores how much the Ukraine war is actually costing Russia in terms of munitions, equipment losses, sanctions and isolation. Plus, we get a Russian perspective on the events of the last two weeks from Andrei Kolesnikov, who is chair of the Russian Domestic Politics and Political Institutions Program at the Carnegie Moscow Center. Today's edition is presented by Fergus Nicoll, and produced by Faarea Masud, Ivana Davidovic and Nisha Patel. (Picture: Last year's harvest in Ukraine. Picture credit: Getty Images.)

Welcome to the The Food Professor podcast episode 33 I'm Michael LeBlanc, and I'm Sylvain Charlebois! Back on the mic together, so much going on - and in fact you and I were quoted in the same article yesterday - a first! All about supply chain…we'll get to that a bit later…we're going bananas over our great guest, Julie Francouer from Fairtrade Canada, and of course our very popular segment, Trying Stuff!Julie talks about the evolution of fair trade, from its roots in the global coffee industry through to putting a variety of products on the shelves of engaged retailers and more and more customers every day. We talk about the process behind fair trade, how it benefits the communities who adopt it, and how consumers are increasingly both recognizing the impact their purchases have around the world and demanding choice in the product they buy. Let's jump right in…hot of the digital presses, new research from the Dalhousie Agri-Analytics lab! More than 2 Canadians in 5 have changed their behaviour to save money at the grocery store compared to 2020…I see switching behaviour, substitutions, format changes, Albertans reducing their purchase of meat…what did you learn with your partners at Caddle?Let's talk about the global supply chain issues and food…so what? Isn't much of what we consumer made in North America, a truck drive away? The upside of shrinkflation…less waste…will this be a call to action for consumers?QR codes - the ugly little app that could..everywhere now, but you have privacy concerns? ******If you liked what you heard you can subscribe on Apple iTunes , Spotify or your favourite podcast platform, please rate and review, and be sure and recommend to a friend or colleague in the grocery, foodservice, or restaurant industry. Supermarkets rose to prominence in the 1960's and these days, the grocery store is the Number One place where Americans buy food. But supermarkets have disconnected us from our food; worse, the global food chain is responsible for up to one third of all human-caused greenhouse gas emissions. Making smart food decisions starts by first understanding the intricacies of global food supply chain. This week I speak with Airly co-founder Jennifer McKnight. Jennifer believes it's important for companies to list... Read More Read More The post The Global Food Supply Chain Under Strain appeared first on Mama Minimalist.
Guests: Brett Stuart & Richard Fritz, co-founders of Global AgriTrends The pubcast table is filled with new guests as we jump into a global topic on the Real Science Exchange. This week we focus on ag trends worldwide and what we can learn from past indicators and future outlook. Our co-hosts Scott Sorrell and Jonathan Griffin, are joined by the co-founders of Global AgriTrends, Brett Stuart & Richard Fritz. In December, Brett first initiated this conversation for the Real Science Lecture focused on Global Mega Trends in Agriculture. You can find that lecture here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ZcIwJkv-vs&t=1283s. For more information on Global AgriTrends, check out their website at https://www.globalagritrends.com/. As conversation kicks off, both Brett and Richard dive into considering all prosperity levels when creating legislation that ties into the food supply, including GMOs. While it might not have an incremental change in the U.S. on our supply, it drastically changes the effect of those in third-world countries, including much of the African continent. 14:22 Brett discusses the need to understand where the population is located relative to where arable land is found. This comes into play with Asia as they continue to increase their agriculture imports as their population grows and the wealth within that population evolves. 22:05 Richard dives into his perspective that the extension service model adopted by the United States and Canada, and parts of India to provide free information and introduce new technology to farmers has decreased in many ways. Because of the change with much of the research going into the private industry, it has decreased the public sharing of information and, therefore, the progress some farms can make, especially in developing countries. 28:22 According to Brett, China’s hurdles with African Swine Fever (ASF) have driven their markets out of whack. It has also meant changes in the global grain markets and U.S. supply. Richard added with the change in U.S. administration, we will see what that means for holding China accountable to follow international trade laws and agreements. 30:16 From a biosecurity standpoint, it is being reported that ASF is still in China and, therefore, will continue to be an issue even with new facilities under construction. Richard discussed that one biosecurity change they have seen is the decrease of backyard hog production with a movement to large-scale facilities, which does shift the biosecurity concerns slightly. 43:21 Richard discusses from his experience in Sub-Saharan Africa that when the population shifts to having a higher income, they become more food insecure because they are moving away from producing their own food. 47:07 When wrapping up the conversation, Brett recommended U.S. producers consider their debt load they are carrying forward as the current price and market trends could help protect against interest rates. 54:27 Richard shared his closing thoughts focused on carbon and the continued push for bringing production agriculture into conversations focused on carbon offsets. 58:32 If you have questions not covered in the lecture or podcast discussion on global ag trends, feel free to email anh.marketing@balchem.com.

In honor and anticipation of Lightning in a Bottle 2019, For The Wild is encoring one of our favorite episodes from the archive, “Vandana Shiva on the Emancipation of Seed, Water, and Women.” This week, Ayana will join Dr. Vandana Shiva and Paul Stamets as panelists at Lightning in a Bottle. Additionally, For The Wild will screen When Old Growth Ends and Ayana will present on “Wild Revolution” at LIB. “What is called agriculture today is not agriculture, it is not the culture of the soil, it is not a culture of the land, it is the culture of oil and fossil fuels…” Dr. Vandana Shiva begins this episode by reminding us of the constructs our world is growing within. Many of us remain trapped in the “monoculture of the mind” while contributing to our destruction. We must broaden our understanding and acknowledge that we can create biodiversity while feeding the world and we can work towards addressing climate change while fostering biodiversity, these pursuits are not mutually exclusive. For thousands of years, farmers used selective breeding to produce more plentiful harvests and increase the usefulness of domesticated animals. Today, genetic engineering allows businesses to do the same—but more cheaply, precisely and speedily. Unbeknownst to most people, the use of genetically modified organisms is not limited to agriculture. GMO technology is all around us, helping to produce life-enhancing products, such as synthetic insulin, and life-saving medicines, such as cancer-fighting Avastin. Still, controversy surrounding GMOs persists. Join us to hear our two distinguished speakers discuss the risks and benefits associated with GMO science. On this special holiday edition of the Global Research News Hour, we salute the 44th annual Earth Day with a speech given in Winnipeg recently by outspoken anti-globalization author, environmental activist, and eco-feminist Dr. Vandana Shiva.Born in Dehradun India in the foothills of the Himalaya, Shiva got her training at the University of Western Ontario in Canada as a physicist. In 1982, she shifted her focus to inter-disciplinary research in science, technology and environmental policy and moved back to India. Dr. Shiva is the founder of Navdanya, a participatory research initiative dedicated to the preservation of native crop species, the rejuvenation of indigenous culture and knowledge, and to support and direction for environmental activism. She is the author of more than 20 books including Soil Not Oil: Environmental Justice in an Age of Climate Crisis; Stolen Harvest: The Hijacking of the Global Food Supply; Earth Democracy: Justice, Sustainability, and Peace; and Staying Alive: Women, Ecology, and Development. She is the recipient of numerous awards and accolades including the 1993 Right Livelihood Award (Alternative Nobel Prize) and the 2010 Sydney Peace Prize. On March 29, 2014, Dr. Shiva spoke at the North Centennial Community Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada at the invitation of a local collective known as Power House Producers in association with the Women's and Gender Studies Students Association, and the University of Winnipeg's Womyn's Centre. Her speech followed a so-called Feast of forgotten foods which highlighted a meal prepared by local activists with organic ingredients all provided by local farmers for an audience of about a hundred people. Preceding the talk was an announcement about a Bill moving through the Canadian House of Commons known as Bill C-18, the Agricultural Growth Act which critics argue undermines traditional farm practices by ensuring the intellectual property rights over new varieties of seeds to the plant breeders that generate them and force farmers to pay a royalty to them when crops from those seeds go to market.
Carbon dioxide emissions from the burning of coal, oil, and gas have been increasing over the past decades, causing the Earth to get hotter and hotter. There are concerns that a continuation of these trends could have catastrophic effects, including crop failures in the heat-stressed tropics. This has led some to explore drastic ideas for combating global warming, including the idea of trying to counteract it by reflecting sunlight away from the Earth. However, it has been suggested that reflecting sunlight away from the Earth might itself threaten the food supply of billions of people. New research led by Carnegie’s Julia Pongratz examines the potential effects that geoengineering the climate could have on global food production and concludes that sunshade geoengineering would be more likely to improve rather than threaten food security.
Aired 12/26/10 Dr. Vandana Shiva is a physicist, ecologist, activist, editor, and author of many books. Since the recent streak of municipal pesticide bans were put into place across Canada, the pesticide industry has been on the defence. Represented by trade association CropLife Canada, the public relations strategies used by the industry were front and centre at the association's September 2007 conference in Saskatoon, which Deconstructing Dinner host Jon Steinman attended. But how is the media presenting those messages? In this multi-part series, Deconstructing Dinner explores the messages coming from industry and Canada's regulatory bodies; it examines research on the pesticide and cancer connections; it digs deep into the care that agricultural migrant workers receive when working within our borders; and it challenges one of the most frequently used arguments -- "Without pesticides, the world would go hungry!" Part II Part II was sparked in light of CropLife Canada becoming engaged in an aggressive and defensive campaign since the Province of Ontario announced in April 2008 that they would legislate a province-wide ban on the non-essential use of 250 pesticides. That ban came into place on April 22 of this year and other provinces who have not already banned non-essential pesticides are thinking of doing the same. One of those provinces being pressured to enact such a ban is British Columbia where the Canadian Cancer Society is putting pressure on the province to do so. The issue has become somewhat of an election one in light of the upcoming May 12th provincial election and is likely what sparked CropLife to hold a meeting with other pesticide industry supporters on April 23 in the City of Richmond. This episode explores the latest messages from CropLife including an exclusive unheard interview between Host Jon Steinman and CropLife's Lorne Hepworth - recorded in September 2007 at CropLife's annual conference. Richard Wiles (Environmental Working Group) and M. Jahi Chappell (Cornell University) were invited to respond to questionable remarks made by Hepworth during that interview. Guests Lorne Hepworth, President, CropLife Canada (Toronto, ON) - Lorne Hepworth has been President of CropLife Canada (formerly Crop Protection Institute of Canada) since 1997, having previously (1992-93) served as Vice President. CropLife Canada is the trade association representing the manufacturers, developers and distributors of plant science innovations - pest control products and plant biotechnology - for use in agriculture, urban and public health settings. Member companies include Monsanto, Bayer, Dow, DuPont and Syngenta among others. Richard Wiles, Executive Director, Environmental Working Group (Washington, D.C.) - Richard Wiles co-founded EWG with Ken Cook in 1993 and now supervises all staff. He is a former senior staff officer at the National Academy of Sciences' Board on Agriculture, where he directed scientific studies, including two that resulted in landmark reports: Regulating Pesticides in Food: The Delaney Paradox and Alternative Agriculture. Wiles is a leading expert in environmental risks to children, and under his direction, EWG has become one of the most respected environmental research organizations in the United States. EWG's exposure and risk assessment methods are recognized as state of the art, and have been used by the EPA and the National Research Council. Wiles holds a BA from Colgate University and an MA from California State University at Sacramento. M. Jahi Chappell, Postdoctoral Associate, Science & Technology Studies, Cornell University (Ithaca, NY) - Jahi is the co-author of "Organic Agriculture and the Global Food Supply" published in June 2007 in the journal Renewable Agriculture and Food Systems. The University of Michigan study has received widespread attention. When the paper was being researched, Jahi was a PhD student in ecology, specializing in the intersection of conservation and food issues. His interest lay in analyzing how conservation policy could effectively be advanced to prevent the rapid loss of biodiversity, which Jahi indicates is, today, similar to the extinction rate that wiped out the dinosaurs. Jahi is now engaged in postdoctoral studies at Cornell University.
