Eze 3:16-6:14, Heb 4:1-16, Ps 104:24-35, Pr 26:27
Something unusual happens in ten short verses starting with Acts 7:59. The story turns quickly from Stephen’s horrific death by stoning to other believers in Christ being scattered and “preaching the word,” leading to these amazing words: “There was great joy in [the] city” (8:8). That’s the paradox of persecution. European pastor Hristo Kulichev experienced the miracle of good coming from evil. In the 1980s, he was arrested for preaching and thrown in prison. While there, he spoke openly about the gospel of Jesus. On his release eight months later, he said, “We had a more fruitful ministry there than we could have expected in church. God was better served by our presence in prison than if we had been free.” From persecution to great joy—just like in the early church. When “great persecution broke out” (Acts 8:1), “those who had been scattered preached the word wherever they went” (v. 4). As a result, there was “great joy” in a city in Samaria (v. 8). When forces in our world stand against the truths and teachings of Scripture—especially the gospel—that’s not the time to give up. God moves in powerful ways when the church faces such difficulties. Peter said, “Do not be surprised” at such fiery trials. You’re “blessed, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you” (1 Peter 4:12–14). God has the power to turn persecution into something precious.

“Can saints communicate telepathically?” This episode explores the intriguing connection between prayer and telepathy, while also delving into whether God communicates with us before birth and the existence of ghosts in relation to Christian teachings. Join us as we tackle these thought-provoking questions and more, including the nature of souls and the practice of praying the rosary. Join the Catholic Answers Live Club Newsletter Invite our apologists to speak at your parish! Visit Catholicanswersspeakers.com Questions Covered: 03:13 – Is prayer similar to telepathy? Do the saints in heaven communicate telepathically? 17:00 – Human beings have no memory of their time as infants or their time while in the womb. Is it possible that during these times, God has the ability to communicate with human beings, and they can understand and respond? Or if certain things about our lives were revealed to us, but once we cross a certain threshold in time or development, we can no longer remember these things? 23:11 – If you could go back in time to any time period. What event would you try to change the outcome of and how would you do it? (Assuming that changing the past is possible). 40:39 – Do Daleks have souls? 45:55 – If we assume ghosts are real, why would they even exist? Why would God allow a soul to stay on Earth? Doesn’t that go against everything Christ taught about what happens when humans die? How can one reconcile the Christian afterlife with ghosts? 53:30 – Do you go clockwise or counterclockwise when praying the rosary?
In a world obsessed with speed, what if the answers we need come only when we slow down and listen? In this episode, Professor Steven C. Harper invites us to pause, reflect deeply, and attune ourselves to the voice of God. Drawing from his book Wrestling with the Restoration: Why This Church Matters, Dr. Harper combines rigorous scholarship with faith to thoughtfully address critiques of the Restoration. He explores complex questions–such as the translation of the Book of Mormon and the origin of the Book of Abraham–and counsels us to slow down and carve out time to ask, "What do I know?" and "How do I know it?" Ultimately, Dr. Harper offers practical ways for us to develop our own personal of witness of Jesus Christ and the Restoration through careful study, sincere reflection, and spiritual seeking. It’s easy to express gratitude when life feels full and blessings are obvious. But what about when our kindness is rejected or our good intentions are met with anger? In today’s prayer and devotion, Rachael Adams, host of The Love Offering, reminds us that gratitude is not dependent on others’ responses — it’s rooted in our relationship with God. After an act of compassion was met with hostility, Rachael wrestled with disappointment and confusion. Yet this moment mirrors a deeper truth seen in the story of Jesus healing the ten lepers (Luke 17:11–19). Only one returned to thank Him — and though all received healing, only the grateful one experienced the fullness of spiritual restoration. God invites us to live with hearts of thankfulness, not for what we receive in return from others, but because of who He is and all He has done for us. Gratitude aligns our hearts with God’s goodness, reminding us that every act of kindness is ultimately an act of worship. Today's Bible Reading:“Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” – Colossians 3:16–17
Brad Cummings digs into Ephesians 6, The Armor of God, by walking through Ephesians 1 to Ephesians 5, showing that that entire book provides the deeper insights into The Armor of God. This is not a physical application of armor, but a deep spiritual application of God's blessings and His promise. As we embrace a deep relationship with Christ, the armor of God takes on new form, showing us the strength we have with Him and Him in us. #BardsFM_Morning #NewCovenant #Ephesians Bards Nation Health Store: www.bardsnationhealth.com BardsFM CAP, Celebrating 50 Million Downloads: https://ambitiousfaith.net Morning Intro Music Provided by Brian Kahanek: www.briankahanek.com MYPillow promo code: BARDS Go to https://www.mypillow.com/bards and use the promo code BARDS or... In this episode of Unshaken Faith, Alisa and Natasha take a deep dive into Jen Hatmaker's new best-selling memoir, Awake—a book that has already sold over 100,000 copies and is captivating Christian women across the country.Hatmaker describes Christianity as the greatest source of oppression in her life—and replaces it with what Alisa calls the “unholy trinity” of feminism, critical pedagogy, and even witchcraft. Together, Alisa and Natasha unpack the book's six central themes, reading key quotes directly from Hatmaker and comparing them with biblical truth. You'll hear:Why Awake is far more than a personal memoir—it's a theological manifesto. How post-Christian spirituality often replaces Scripture with self-worship and emotional “truth.”The danger of calling something “Jesus” when it's crafted from our own imagination. How witchcraft, energy rituals, and self-trust have become the new spirituality for many women.A biblical response to the cultural message: “Follow your heart.”Alisa and Natasha approach the topic with both compassion and conviction, acknowledging the heartbreak in Hatmaker's story while showing why her conclusions lead women away from the true gospel.???? Listen to the end as they remind listeners that real freedom isn't found in rejecting God's authority—it's found in surrendering to it.
On November 5th, a judge in Malaysia will deliver a verdict in the case of Susanna Koh vs. the Malaysian government and members of the police believed to be involved in the abduction of her husband, Pastor Raymond Koh. Raymond disappeared off the streets of Malaysia in 2017; he hasn't been seen or heard from since, and his car has never been found. Susanna and her children shared their story at The Voice of the Martyrs' National Conference in September. They are asking Christians around the world to pray ahead of this important court verdict. Susanna shared how she sees, in hindsight, that God was preparing Raymond ahead of his abduction. He was memorizing large sections of Scripture, taking long prayer walks, and even driving around Malaysia to pray for God's Spirit to move in different areas. After he was abducted, Susanna went to the police station to file a missing person's report. Instead of asking questions designed to locate Pastor Raymond, police interrogated Susanna. They demanded information about her husband's ministry activities and accused him of evangelizing ethnic Malay people. In the days since the abduction, God has used Christian music, prayer, and Scripture to encourage her, even though there were times she was angry with the police who repeatedly interrogated her. One day, she was convicted of her anger and unforgiveness towards the police; she repented for her sin. Susanna will share how the Lord led her to go the extra mile to demonstrate forgiveness for her husband's persecutors. Susanna and her family filed a civil case against the Malaysian government and the police in 2020. Listen as she shares how she sought the Lord ahead of filing the case and how the Lord confirmed her decision to move forward. Not knowing what happened to Pastor Raymond has been hard for Susanna and her family, freezing their grief. "The unknown is a struggle," Susanna said, "but we will go into the court with an attitude of victory, because Jesus has already won through His blood on the cross." She also takes joy in knowing that Raymond's story of faithfulness has gone around the world and encouraged many Christians. You'll also hear from Raymond and Susanna's children, Esther, Jonathan, and Elizabeth, as they share their struggles and share memories of their father. You can watch a special video podcast of this interview at www.vom.org/koh. Pray for the verdict coming up on November 5th. Pray for the judge. Pray that there will be justice and the truth will be revealed. They emphasize the importance of understanding the diverse experiences of individuals on the autism spectrum and the role of disability specialists in supporting these individuals and their families. Key Insights Diversity of Autism Experiences: Autism is a spectrum, and individuals experience it differently. The book shares various stories that highlight these unique experiences, emphasizing that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to supporting individuals with autism in the church. Role of Disability Specialists: Disability specialists are crucial in church settings, providing tailored support to individuals with autism. Their presence can significantly enhance the church experience for both individuals and their families. Communication and Collaboration: Effective communication between parents, leaders, and disability specialists is essential. Regular meetings and open dialogue can help create a supportive environment that meets the needs of individuals with autism. Social Skills Development: Leaders should focus on helping individuals with autism develop social skills through structured interactions and support, especially during transitional phases like moving into young men's or young women's groups. Utilizing Strengths: Individuals with autism often have unique strengths and interests. Leaders should identify these strengths and provide opportunities for individuals to contribute meaningfully to the church community. Leadership Applications Empower Disability Specialists: Leaders should actively call and support disability specialists in their wards, ensuring they have the resources and training needed to assist individuals with autism effectively. Foster Inclusive Environments: Create a culture of understanding and acceptance by encouraging open discussions about autism and providing training for leaders and members on how to interact positively with individuals on the spectrum. Encourage Participation: Leaders can help individuals with autism find suitable callings that align with their strengths, fostering a sense of belonging and purpose within the church community. 00:04:11 - Origin of the Book "Autism in Christ's Church" 00:04:54 - Robert's Expertise in Special Education 00:06:28 - Resources for Latter-day Saints and Autism 00:07:15 - Structure of the Book: Stories and Experiences 00:08:48 - Liberty's Background with Autism 00:09:36 - Robert's Journey into Special Education

In 2010, nearly four thousand believers in Jesus gathered in Cape Town, South Africa. Participants from 198 countries were represented at the conference—a gathering considered to be the most representative meeting of the Christian church in the two thousand years since Jesus walked the earth. There will come a day when a gathering needn’t be “representative” because all believers will be together. John, in a vision from God, describes it this way: “I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb”. . . “and they cried out in a loud voice: ‘Salvation belongs to our God, who sits on the throne’ ” (Revelation 7:9-10). Our local churches may not always reflect the many kinds of diversity that exist in God’s eternal kingdom. Sometimes that’s the result of factors outside our control—such as not being able to worship in person with those who live on other continents. Other times we may be drawn to worship with those we perceive to be similar to ourselves culturally, generationally, politically, and economically. But we honor God when we embrace—and even seek out—the beautiful differences He has endowed to His children. They offer a foretaste of that diverse, heavenly gathering when all those who trust in Jesus’ sacrifice will worship Him together.

Welcome to part 20 of our epic series on Dr. John G. Turner's landmark biography, “Joseph Smith: The Rise and Fall of an American Prophet.”Things are really heating up as we enter the mid-1830s in the life of Joseph Smith, founder of the Latter-day Saint movement. This episode dives into one of the most controversial and debated episodes in early Mormon history –Joseph's relationship with Fanny Alger, a young woman employed in the Smith household in Kirtland, Ohio in 1836.Was it adultery? Was it an early form of plural marriage? Or was it something else entirely –a “scrape”?Join us for Part 1 of Chapter 18, where we unpack Turner's detailed treatment of this scandal, explore how it fractured relationships within the early church (especially between Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowdery), and trace how it shaped the theology of polygamy that would later emerge in Nauvoo. Please purchase the book here.To support this series please donate here. One half of all donations will go to Dr. Turner for as long as he is participating in the series.___________________YouTubeAt Mormon Stories we explore, celebrate, and challenge Mormon culture through in-depth stories told by members and former members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as well as scholars, authors, LDS apologists, and other professionals. “Do ghosts ask for prayers?” This episode delves into the intriguing question of whether ghosts, potentially souls from purgatory, seek Masses for their peace. Additionally, we explore why God might allow hauntings that seem like repetitive imprints, the moral implications of workplace automation, and the fascinating intersection of Catholic themes in the Star Wars universe. Join the Catholic Answers Live Club Newsletter Invite our apologists to speak at your parish! Visit Catholicanswersspeakers.com Questions Covered: 02:32 – If Ghosts may be souls from purgatory whom God has permitted for a particular reason to appear and interact with the living. Why don’t all ghosts ask for Masses to be said for them? 14:45 – Why, in your opinion, would God allow hauntings which act as a non-interactive recording or psychic imprint, which seem to repeat over and over again in the same place, and may even be left by people who are still alive (as opposed to singularly unique and interactive apparitions of the dead)? 21:23 – What are the moral implications of using new technologies in the workplace, knowing that it could lead to other positions becoming obsolete and other employees being laid off? Example: Someone needs to use AI or other forms of automation to meet the requirements for their job, but too much success could convince a CEO to completely replace another human's position with technology 32:20 – Does the phenomenon of dead bodies being incorruptible only happen to saints, or does it happen to non-Catholics as well? 34:18 – Can you explore Catholic themes and spirituality in the Star Wars universe? The chosen one, the Force, jedi order, symbolism, sacrifice of Vader, redemption, etc. I know George Lucas is hardly Catholic, but perhaps he unwittingly drew on the things found in the largest entity in the universe…the Catholic Church. Thanks, and may the Force be with you! 43:15 – Are mine and my husband's guardian angels friends? Is my guardian angel friends with my children's angels? Or is my angel like a mentor to my children's angels? 48:10 – If one’s guardian angel were asked to console Christ in the Garden of Gethsemane, would the angel be allowed to do it?
Halloween has become commercial holiday in the United States. Behind the masks, the costumes and the candy is a very dark and very active reality. More children are sacrificed on Halloween than another day of the year. More spells are cast than other day of the year. Halloween for so many is just day to get dressed up; for the occult it is a day to call forth the darkness. Take this day to pray, proclaim Jesus and stand for light. Delight Your Marriage | Relationship Advice, Christianity, & Sexual Intimacy
"Marriage First" Makes Your Life Unstable At the end of my life, I want to hear the words, "Well done, good and faithful servant." That's the goal that keeps me grounded—and I know many of you share that desire. But here's a hard truth I've learned through years of walking with couples: when our marriage or family becomes our first priority instead of God, everything starts to crumble. Why "Family First" Doesn't Work I once had a conversation with someone I deeply love who said, "You think God has to be first—but I think family should be first." His heart was sincere, but the fruit of that mindset showed otherwise. When family is first, everything depends on emotions—how your spouse treats you, how the kids behave, whether things feel peaceful at home. That's not stability. That's shifting sand. We see the effects of this all around us. Divorce rates hover around 50%. Even pastors and counselors admit they rarely had a healthy marriage modeled for them. Most people are doing their best, but without a biblical foundation, their "best" can't hold up when life gets hard. The Biblical Order That Brings Stability Scripture gives us the right order: "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength. And love your neighbor as yourself." — Mark 12:30–31 That means I love my first neighbor—my spouse—because I love God. Why do I forgive in marriage? Because God is first. Why do I love my husband well? Because God is first. Why do I serve my family with joy? Because God is first. When we build our lives on that rock, we become steady—even when the storms hit. Illness, loss, special needs, mental health struggles—these things shake every marriage. But when God comes first, everything else finds its right place. Feelings Aren't God—God's Word Is We live in a "follow your feelings" culture. If you don't feel in love anymore, the world says, find someone new. But feelings aren't truth. God's Word is. You're serving the King of Kings, and your marriage is part of that assignment. Like the Roman soldiers in Gladiator fought for the glory of Rome; as believers, we live for the glory of God. That means our choices in marriage—our words, our intimacy, our tone—should all be for His glory. Believers are called to die to ourselves. That includes our moods and even our sexual desires. Scripture is clear: "Do not deprive each other except by mutual consent and for a time... then come together again so that Satan will not tempt you." — 1 Corinthians 7:5 That's not about coercion or obligation—it's about love expressed God's way. When I choose intimacy with my husband, it's not because I feel like it every time. It's because I love God. And when I embrace His design with joy, the byproduct is a beautiful, connected marriage. Marriage as a Path to Holiness Author Gary Thomas famously asked, "What if marriage is meant to make us holy, not happy?" The amazing thing is—when we pursue holiness, happiness often follows. That's why we teach the Delight Your Marriage Framework: Husbands need to have respect, admiration, and wholehearted intimacy. Wives need to feel safe, known, and wholeheartedly cherished. We love our spouse in the way they receive love, not the way we prefer to give it. Because real love is about understanding and serving the other. (You can download the full framework at DelightYourMarriage.com/framework.) The Power of God's Word to Transform David Wood—a former atheist and sociopath whose life was radically changed by Scripture. Even after becoming a Christian, he noticed that when he stopped reading the Bible for a few days, dark thoughts would return. That's how powerful God's Word is—it changes us from the inside out. If you're struggling to love your spouse, to forgive, to stay faithful, start here: get your nose in the Word. Not scrolling. Not skimming. Reading. Slowly. With a heart open to hear God. Even one verse a day in a physical Bible can soften your heart. Make it a habit. Let the Word wash over you. Final Thoughts If you have put your marriage above Jesus, it's not too late to turn it around. He is a safe person to put your trust in. You can trust His Word and His design. It is on purpose, for a purpose… and it is Good. Dr. JB Hixson SORRY, NO VIDEO VERSION TODAY! Mary welcomes back JB Hixson today to help us all turn down the volume on our lives. We are inordinately busy - and not just that, we are tuning in the world more and more and tuning out that still small voice, the one thing that can give us strength and comfort. Sometimes we don't even know how unbalanced our lives are until we tune it all out and spend time with Jesus. God knows what we need, in every generation. The world is so chaotic, and adding to the geopolitical insanity, there are countless voices and opinions presenting other ways to view everything. Exhausted yet? Maybe you are but don't realize it. JB and Mary look at David the sweet Psalmist, and his declaration that what we really need is to draw near to Jesus - and drink of the living water He offers. David, and that deer, panted for the water during the most difficult times, and so should we - whether we are on the run from enemies, navigating apostasy in the church, watching the news about man's inhumanity to man - all these things sap our strength. He is our peace, and He knows what will make for our peace: whatsoever is true, lovely, and praiseworthy. Let's unplug and satisy that thirst. Have a long drink of cool water.

Read OnlineWhen Jesus saw the crowds, he went up the mountain, and after he had sat down, his disciples came to him. He began to teach them, saying: “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the Kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 5: 1–3Today we celebrate one of the most glorious solemnities within our Church! Every saint, canonized or not, is honored today. Our Gospel passage lays out the path by which these saints entered Heaven. While on earth, these great men and women lived lives that were poor in spirit, filled with a holy mourning, meekness, a hunger and thirst for righteousness, mercy, peace, purity of heart and even persecution. Each one of these Beatitudes concludes by stating the reward that those who lived these qualities obtains: Heaven, comfort, satisfaction, mercy, seeing God, being children of God and rewards beyond what we can imagine in God's Kingdom. The Beatitudes invite us to the heights of holiness. They are not for the faint of heart or for those living a lukewarm spiritual life. These Beatitudes present us with the pinnacle of holy living and challenge us to the core. But every effort put into living these Beatitudes are worth it here on earth and ultimately in Heaven. Let's look briefly at two of these Beatitudes. The second Beatitude states that those “who mourn...will be comforted.” This is an interesting Beatitude. Why is it holy to mourn? Simply put, this form of holy mourning means that you not only have a holy sorrow for your own sins but that you have this holy sorrow as you see the many evils within our world. This is crucial today. First, it should be quite obvious that we must have holy sorrow for our own sins. Doing so means your conscience is working. And when your conscience is working, you will be compelled, by this holy sorrow, to acknowledge your offenses against God and work diligently to change. But we must also have a holy sorrow as we see the many evils within our world. Too often today there is a tendency to undermine this Beatitude by presenting universal acceptance of all things as a good. We are told we must not judge, and though that is true when it comes to judging another's heart, a worldly presentation of this secular “virtue” attempts to lead us to downplay the objective nature of sin. Our secular world tempts us to ignore many objective moral truths by which God guides us into all truth. But as Christians, our first approach must be to despise all that our Lord taught was objectively morally evil. And when we do come face-to-face with immoral lifestyles, the appropriate response must be holy sorrow, not acceptance of grave sin. To mourn over another's poor choices is a true act of charity toward them. The fourth Beatitude calls us to “hunger and thirst for righteousness.” This means that we not only have a holy sorrow over our sins and the objective evils of our world, but that we also allow ourselves to be filled with a hunger and thirst for truth and holy living. This drive must become a burning motivation within us to do all we can to further the Kingdom of God everywhere. This Beatitude enables us to overcome indifference, inspiring us to bring about change in the face of all opposition. And this drive is fueled by charity and every other accompanying virtue. Reflect, today, upon the beautiful truth that you are called to become a saint. And the surest path to sainthood is the Beatitudes. Read them carefully. Meditate upon them and know that they reveal to you how God is calling you to live. If one of these Beatitudes stands out to you, then spend time focusing upon it. Work to internalize these graces, and God will work wonders in your life, one day making this solemnity within our Church a true celebration of your life well lived. My most holy Lord, You reign now in Heaven and desire that Your glorious Kingdom be firmly established upon earth. Give me the grace I need to seek holiness with all my heart and to especially use Your revelation of the Beatitudes as the path by which I travel. I pray that I will become a true saint in this world and that You will use me to further Your Kingdom now and for eternity. Jesus, I trust in You.Image: Sebastiano Conca, Public domain, via Wikimedia CommonsSource of content: catholic-daily-reflections.comCopyright © 2025 My Catholic Life! Inc. All rights reserved.
