This week, the sisters dive into the idea of legacy—from heirloom lamb cake molds to meaningful graduation gifts. They swap stories about baking blunders, busted molds, and the ink-stained mysteries only teenage boys can create. Then, they welcome special guest Sarah Riley, a private jeweler (aka “the secret jeweler”), who shares thoughtful, timeless ways to mark life's milestones—like graduations and Mother's Day—with jewelry that tells a story. They cover: Gift ideas for boys and girls that don't break the bank Why gold prices are sky-high (and how to turn old earrings into cash) The truth about lab-grown diamonds And how to season your cast iron lamb cake mold so your sheep comes out whole next yearIn What's For Dinner, it's all about comfort and ease with a classic baked ziti recipe—perfect for feeding the family or stashing leftovers for a busy week. When one mentions heirloom, only good things come to mind. Perhaps a valuable piece of Jewelery passed down through the generations, but in today's episode, we listen to confessions from people who had the unfortunate case of being handed haunted artefacts. From a rag-and-bone man unlikely method of gaining wealth, to a vow made by a spirit from the ancient chinese dynasty period to grandmas's magic cabinet, these real stories told by real people will make you think twice about the next old furniture you inherit. All these and more in today's podcast episode Haunted Heirlooms only on Supernatural Confessions. * If you enjoy the podcast, do consider leaving us a five star review, and talking about us to your friends. Last episode, Cadeaux and Pickle flew solo on an exciting individual adventure. In the meantime, the rest of the group completed an outstanding contract, and started to scout out the suspicious city lord. We start this episode back inside the guild, with a rather dishevelled cleric, plenty of alcohol, and a story to tell. We'll escort you through the rocky mountainsides of Stensia and the deep, wooded hinterlands of Kessig, sail on the treacherous waterways of Nephalia and set course for the Silver city of Thraben. We decided to re-air this episode on Valentine's Day. A gift that keeps giving - maybe order a unique piece of jewelry for someone you care.___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________This episode has two parts - in part one, we talk with Amy Peterson, the co-founder of Rebel Nell about her inspiration and motivation to start Rebel Nell. While living next to a homeless shelter in Detroit, MI, she got to learn up-close the women who lived there and their challenges. One day out on a jog she finds a piece of graffiti that she envisioned could be repurposed into meaningful wearable art. A fusion of these two ideas gave birth to Rebel Nell. Amy with her co-founder Diana Roginson started Rebel Nell in 2013 with the mission to provide employment, equitable opportunity, and wraparound support for women with barriers to employment. They seek to embolden women, to embrace their infinite strength, and to define their own future. They partner with local organizations to seek out women who have struggled to find and retain employment. Their goal is to help the women move from a life of dependence to one of self-reliance, overcoming barriers to employment through the fruits of their own labor. Rebel Nell's product line starts with repurposing graffiti, after it has fallen off the walls. These are women who when hired have no background in jewelry become creative designers who make incredibly intricate and unique piece each one more beautiful than the next. In the part two we chat with one such woman - Ethel Rucker, Production Lead at Rebel Nell. In addition to on-the-job training and guidance on how to make jewelry, Rebel Nell also provides them with life management, financial training and business education to make sure they have the confidence and knowledge that will enable them to leave homelessness/dependence behind permanently and move forward as strong independent women. “The barrier to introspection is self-awareness “says Kim Egel ,our guest for this week's Above Ground Podcast, episode one hundred eighty. Kim chats with the guys about her path into the mental health field as a therapist in San Diego, California. Kim looks to empower and provoke change in her clients. Time to start walking the path with Kim Egel. With no self-awareness you will not ask yourself questions about who you are. The only way to learn is to ask questions and acquire the answers. When the journey of a thousand miles begins it is best to have at least a general understanding of where you are headed or you will get lost. You can never plan the entire trip, but by asking about your direction helps you get back on course. Kim's fascination with people started very early and she learned that she could make a career out of helping individuals discover who they really are. Walking the path is a continuous process. But how do we start to feel our uncomfortable feelings and sit with them. Just start toward where you would like to head, but don't lose your curiosity about where you are headed. Kim has more than twenty years of experience and was doing this job before covid and now post covid and the world has changed every where. Kim's approach is very person-centered and works within the humanity of the individual. Kim's practice weaves a tapestry of modalities, a sort of extension of who she is just like her endeavors of jewelry, photography and blogging. Please check Kim out at any of these links. https://www.kimegel.com https://youtu.be/LtidIrjptR0 https://instagram.com/iamkimegel?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y= https://instagram.com/kimegeljewelry?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y= https://www.pinterest.com/kimegel/ Thanks for listening to episode one hundred eighty. I’m thrilled to continue an “Under the hood” fashion series, this week looking at jewelry after last week’s denim show. Pyrrah jewelry are one of the few jewelry brands with full transparency and commitment to ethics in the supply chain and for their team who make the pieces so founder Danielle is. In 1993, Wade and Danielle Papin met, fell in love and began handcrafting jewelry at their kitchen table in Vancouver. Two years later—following myriad conversations about their shared appreciation for good design and old things—they founded Pyrrha with a commitment to letting their materials inspire their work. The resulting jewelry is Pyrrha's now iconic line of talisman necklaces, bracelets, cuffs and rings made from reclaimed silver, bronze and gold. Each piece is handcrafted in Pyrrha's Vancouver studio—a striking contrast to the glut of overseas, factory-made, mass-produced jewelry that is so common in their industry. "Everything seems to be cranked out at a staggering pace and then left for dead," says Wade. "Because we live in such a throwaway society, it’s necessary—and joyful—to create some things that can be kept." While Pyrrha remains a local treasure in its native Vancouver, the talismans have captured international attention. The line has been embraced by celebrities and style icons the world over, and retails at such global boutiques as Liberty of London, Le Bon Marche Paris and United Arrows of Japan. In 2010 Wade and Danielle took what felt like their natural next step, opening their extraordinary flagship store in L.A. The Pyrrha store allows fans to experience the Pyrrha world, as well as to see the extensive talisman collection in its entirety. I hope you enjoy learning about the jewellery trade more intimately as well as this beautiful brand and head over to the show notes for the sponsor offer and further details on xxx at lowtoxlife.com/podcast See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Jewelery Of The Mind! by Low Mein
I met The Silver Nightingale through Sree's NYT Readalong and I am looking forward to our conversation today... The story of how I got my name is part of the larger story of the development of my solo flute act. When I lived in Syracuse, I played in lots of eclectic rock/blues bands (Laura and the Legwarmers, Friends, Felicidad, and No Sense of Humor were some of the more interesting names), folk/rock duos, and also started to play solo for yoga classes, spiritual retreats, food coops, anti-nuclear rallies and such. I really enjoyed the freedom and creativity playing solo allowed me, as well as the meditative qualities of the music. During this period, I started composing solo flute pieces, as well as music for my bands. Listeners liked what I was doing, and many people told me they found my solo music peaceful and healing. Receiving a great response to my new solo work, I decided to focus on doing a solo act in the fairly unusual configuration of solo flute, and with the help of local guitar legend and producer Mark Doyle, made a demo tapeShortly thereafter, at the end of 1986, I left Syracuse for New Orleans, feeling it would be fertile ground for a full-time music career. While there, ex-Laura and the Legwarmers bandmate Diana Trifoso (also a jewelry designer and face-painter) came to town, and we spent an afternoon sitting on the floor of my David St. apartment brainstorming.I wanted to create an image suggesting elegance, opulence, upscale dining, and light, airy, fluid qualities. I wanted silver in the name to suggest the silver flute, the silver used with fine china, silver coins, silver jewelry (I have always preferred silver jewelry to gold). I also wanted to conjure the melodic, "singing" qualities of the flute. We sat on the floor and made a list of 58 names - Some of the also-rans were Silver Sonata, Liquid Silver and Silver Dreams.

Ahmit Dhamani, CEO and Managing Director of Dhamani Jewels talks about the story of his unique jewelry business concepts.
Revenue Blindspots In this episode we discussed revenue blindspots and what they really could mean to your business. According to Bryan:- “Anywhere from 20-60% of the revenue is being left on the table!” Bryan calls these revenue blindspots and Bryan explains a lot of different problems businesses have and the biased view of the world that some business leaders have and has worked to help businesses for over two decades to understand what they are leaving on the table. They have helped companies and in some cases just from one small change to improve the bottom line by 5% after spotting their revenue blindspot. Daily deaths by a thousand cuts have caused a lot of businesses to fold and these little revenue blindspots have in some cases caused the loss of lots of jobs. The persuasive momentum framework that Buyer legends use is designed to seek out their revenue blindspots and help them to fix them. He explains about the persuasive momentum framework that he uses in his business. It has two main functions :- Reduce friction in the customer experience Increase motivation Friction can be internal or external, Bryan discusses Amazon and Walmart and the struggles they have in building a digital DNA. We discuss these “friction” points within physical retail and innovation and why Amazon have innovated so fast and the reason they have succeeded, they take data to be truly “customer centric.” Amazon Prime became so successful when the iPhone was launched, serving the customer what they need when they needed it. We spend time shopping when we are taking breaks or are running away from our other halves and use our phones in the toilet. Bryan tells me about why your bathroom stinks haha…he explains about Febreeze and why it was successful. Finding the real source of friction and eliminating it is the advantage, gaining you momentum and naturally spotting the revenue blindspot is key. If we go back to Steve Jobs and the launch of the iPhone and how all the new apps were launched to increase the motivation to get an iPhone. Now everything we see that Apple does is an incremental improvement, the key is to have a system where you are both reducing friction and increasing motovation. Customer led innovation and great operations and contiuously improving those operaritons, like an octypous with loads of teams imrpoving the business. Companies think they are customer centric but in order for them to be really competing with Amazon they need to be like them. Bryan and I think so alike and we both agreed that not a lot has really changed in business, except that there is more data, faster analysis of data and decisions can be made faster based upon the data. Business principles are the same. Customer always wants producsts to be dleivered faster and want them cheaper. Customer expectations have changed and Bryan explains that he was in a Jewelery store and how the company try to respond within 24 hours, so Bryan’s brother orders a delivery within an hour and he mentions this in the meeting about this and how they can expect to succeed if these things are now possible. People expect more and with a smile, great product and fast, if you can produce this and build a great experience then you are going to hang on to those customers, you will hang on to them. But remembering customers are fickle they are like cats and not loyal like dogs. If you want to reach Bryan then visit Buyer Legends Or his personal website Bryan Eisenberg Here Thanks for listening and please make sure you subscribe, share and review this podcast.
