There's little question anymore that political elites—Democrats and Republicans alike—are part of a so-called "Uniparty" controlled by billionaire interests, and both parties cater to the same oligarchs rather than the public. Jimmy and Americans' Comedian Kurt Metzger discuss former Clinton era labor secretary Robert Reich's appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, where the two agree that it's necessary to get big money out of politics, but they expose their own hypocrisy given that Democratic campaigns often outpace Republicans in billionaire backing. Jimmy points out that economic inequality has worsened instead of improving under both Democrats and Republicans, in particular citing the 2008 bank bailout without reforms, while he also notes that Democrats talk a big game about promoting democracy but rig their own primaries across election cycles. Plus segments on a Nebraska town hall audience jeering at GOP Rep Mike Flood after he gaslit them about universal healthcare and Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro responding to the FBI's $50 million bounty on him by offering his own $50 million reward for anyone sharing the full, unedited Epstein client list. Also featuring Mike MacRae and Stef Zamorano. And a phone call from Liam Neeson!
Matt and Bob dive headfirst into the slapstick chaos of The Naked Gun reboot — dissecting Liam Neeson's deadpan transformation from action icon to spoof hero, Lonely Island's layered gag work, and which scenes had them crying with laughter (hint: chili dogs and Starbucks bathrooms are involved). They debate the 80s-style sight gags vs. the sharp 21st-century twists, chart the movie's laugh-per-minute rate, and wonder if we're witnessing the revival of the studio comedy. Then it's over to South Park's summer season, where Mackie joins ICE, Trump gets the Saddam treatment, and the show proves once again it's still fearless (and filthy) after all these years. From the politics of parody to the joy of laughing in a packed theater, this episode is part comedy autopsy, part love letter to the art of not giving a damn.

The 2025 remake of The Naked Gun, starring Liam Neeson and Pamela Anderson, has been positively reviewed by the Mostly Superheroes podcast crew. Hear from Logan, Carrie, Scotty, and Andy in this instant take from the lobby of Marcus Ronnie's Cinema in St. Louis. The Naked Gun is a hilarious, short, and fun slapstick comedy. The crew gave the movie high ratings, with one 4.0 out of 4.0, while others gave it a 3.5 and 3.0. The film is said to have successfully captured the spirit of the originals, with great casting and many Easter eggs that pay homage to the previous films. Reviewers specifically praised Liam Neeson as one of the best choices for the role and Pamela Anderson for her amazing performance. The movie is considered a timeless and rewatchable comedy that proves this type of humor can still be successful in a modern age. Doctors say there's a 50-50 chance of Akiva Schaffer's "The Naked Gun" surviving our discussion, though there's only a 10% chance of that. Surely they can't be serious about Liam Neeson and Pam Anderson replacing Leslie Nielson and Priscilla Presley in a world where electric car makers want to take over the world? July was a big month of movies. Mike and Kelsey reveal their best and worst for the month as the summer blockbuster season was in full effect. What shined through the rest and what fizzled out on the big screen? In the Movie Review, Mike talks about The Naked Gun starring Liam Neeson and Pamela Anderson. He was hesitant to see it so did it change his mind? Can a spoof movie still work in 2025? Was it actually fun? And how crazy that it was under 1 hour and 15 minutes! In the Trailer Park, Mike breaks down Avatar: Fire and Ash from Director James Cameron that comes out only in theaters December 19. Mike talks about how James Cameron first came up with the idea in the 90s, why they make so much money and can we handle there more 3+ hour movies until 2031? New Episodes Every Monday! Les, Kurt, and Jason are celebrating… healthy prostates (and Jason's Birthday)! Blac Chyna is celebrating a healthy split from her fiancé. And the guys are collectively celebrating the budding romance of Liam Neeson and Pamela Anderson! But, there's thing not being celebrated: the Hallmark Movie Moriah's Lighthouse. Despite the presence of Luke Macfarlane, this movie is a snooze fest filled with a bunch of likeable people that needed a better plot onscreen rather than the plot that happened offscreen in the past in a dungeon. With no Light Bright, no Lesbianism, and no consequences for smiley faces, this movie will stop you up like two loaves of bread. With ‘Fantastic Four' still #1, the reboot of ‘The Naked Gun' with Liam Neeson and Pamela Anderson could only manage second place. Much as he enjoyed the original movies, James found the continual running gags in this version soon became tiresome while the film was so silly and surreal it undermined the comedy. He was more impressed with ‘The Legend of Ochi' which only limped in at #18. With Willem Dafoe and Emily Watson, it's a visually spellbinding fable but, being both magical and barmy, it may struggle to find an audience, even if it eventually becomes a cult classic. Apple TV+ add to their many music documentaries with ‘Bono: Stories of Surrender', in which the star tells stories of his life with a few songs. He's a charismatic storyteller with an unexpectedly poetic turn of phrase. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

Cur·mudg·eon [kərˈməj(ə)n] noun a bad-tempered person, especially an old one. We celebrate two legendary curmudgeons who brought the characters of Han Solo and Qui Gon Jinn to life: Harrison Ford and Liam Neeson. Both have been on the interview circuit lately, both have been looking back at their Star Wars careers, and both are sometimes grateful and sometimes salty about their experiences in a galaxy far, far away. We listen to recent interview highlights from the two to get their perspectives as now-older gentlemen. We report on fresh news about the casting of Matt Smith in STAR WARS: STARFIGHTER, shooting later this year, and we look forward to the 50th anniversary of STAR WARS: A NEW HOPE with news of a theatrical release happening in 2027. But what version will it be? Plus, listener feedback gets us looking at what and who are responsible for the Sequel Trilogy going “off the rails” and more!

Directed by Akiva Schaffer (Hot Rod, Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping), this is a a 21st Century relaunch of the crime spoof franchise which kicked off in 1988 with the original "The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad!" which starred the late, great Leslie Neilsen as Lt. Frank Drebin. Well the mantle has now been passed to Oscar-nominee Liam Neeson (Schindler's List, Darkman, Taken) who plays his son, Lt. Frank Drebin Jr. This time around, he has his own crimes to solve kicking off with the murder of the brother of the mysterious Beth Davenport played by Pamela Anderson (The Last Showgirl, Barb Wire, Baywatch). Furthermore, the prime suspect MIGHT be tech billionaire Richard Cane played by Danny Huston (The Constant Gardener, Wonder Woman, Children of Men). And hilarity ensues? Let's find out if this latest reboot can bring the funny as well as the original.... In 1998, we got the sequel to the movie “The Fully-Clothed Gun”, known as “The Naked Gun.” Leslie Nielsen played ace detective Frank Drebin who showed everyone the wrong way to be a cop. Now, in 2025, we're getting the inevitable. A remake of “The Naked Gun” starring Liam Neeson as Frank Drebin Jr. who now has to carry on his father's legacy of being a cautionary tale with a badge who shoots first, asks questions much later, sometimes never. This reboot is brought to us by the same guys who brought us “Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping” and countless SNL skits, the Lonely Island boys. They get some help from Seth McFarlane from the “Ted” movies and “Family Guy.” Pamela Anderson, who never saw a boat she didn't have fun on, plays Frank's love interest. Sorry, no boat scene in this movie. They go up against the evil tech billionaire that I'm sure wasn't at all modeled after Elon Musk. He's played by Danny Huston who slimes his way across the screen. The original “Naked Gun” movies at hilarious quips and sight gags galore, and they landed most of the time. How many land in this reboot and is it worth going to the theater to see? Find out in this episode of “Movies Merica Live” with special guest star Adam from “Vets Talkin!” “The Naked Gun” also stars Paul Walter Houser, CCH Pounder, Kevin Durand, Liza Koshy, Eddy Yu and Michael Beasley. Send us a textRemember The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad? We thought it was hilarious when we were kids. However, we also watched Pee-wee's Playhouse regularly and got excited when Knight Rider came on. So what did we know? We have some predictions. One, it might be a tad offensive, and two, it might be a little 80s-centric, which is okay with us. So join us as we go back to 1988 and watch Leslie Neilson and O.J. Simpson in The Naked Gun.Do You Remember Liking This Movie?
We all need a break from the brutal summer, so this week we take a trip to the Cold North Country to talk about The Grey. Based on “Ghost Walker” by Ian MacKenzie Jeffers, Joe Carnahan delivers a man-against-nature survival thriller with a cast let by veteran hardass Liam Neeson. Intro: “Necromaniacs” – Mike Hill Outro: “Killer Wolf”– Danzig

Summer's not over yet, and neither is Hollywood's addiction to remakes and requels! Case in point: The Naked Gun!Akiva Schaffer's legacy sequel picks up decades after 1988's The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad!, and centers on Frank Drebin, Jr. (Liam Neeson), who wants nothing more than to live up to the legacy of his bumbling-hero father (Leslie Nielsen). When a bank heist connects to a murder, Frank Jr. finds himself in the midst of a wild techno conspiracy--and a whole lot of cartoon nonsense in the background! There's been a lot of controversy surrounding original Naked Gun co-writer/director David Zucker's lack of involvement in the new movie, but Earth's Mightiest Critics feel the new creative team has done their best to uphold the franchise's zany spirit.Does this mean that comedy is "back"? If so, where did it go? Join us for a spoilerific and oh-so-silly look at one of cinema's perfect sequels (including just what we mean by "perfect sequel") and the movie that inspired it! Sal Licata, a self-proclaimed lover of dry, slapstick humor, announced that he's taking a day off to go see the new Naked Gun movie. Despite his wife's likely disapproval of the film's comedic style and a caller's warning that it's a letdown, Sal is determined to see the film, which he believes will be a perfect throwback to the original classics. He is particularly intrigued by the casting of Liam Neeson in the iconic role, and he's hoping to rekindle his love for a genre of comedy that he feels has been missing from theaters.
Lukester: The eternal Familiar Stranger. No one drinks at 8pm here. Liam Neeson and Pameler Anderson are apparently an item, and I have thoughts about it. Fantastic Four had a massive audience drop off in its second week, and I'd be lying if I didn't say it made me “low key” happy. (As the kids say) I saw the Robert Altman movie “Nashville,” and really wished I hadn't.
Well its a radio show, but its not live, and its prerecorded.... The Naked Gun is out, and its the comedy that Hollywood needed. Plus Nintendo, pulls its normal shenanigans, while we all continue to ignore the issues. Somehow EA is now the good guy as well? Also, Spider-Man begins filming, and the scenes from set look amazing, Matt Smith is joining a Galaxy Far Far Away, and Chris Hemsworth clarifies his comments on Thor.

Akiva Schaffer prefers to stay behind the scenes. But that doesn't mean he's any less funny than his Lonely Island bandmates Andy Samberg and Jorma Taccone. The three middle school best friends started shooting videos right out of college before landing a plush gig making digital shorts for ‘Saturday Night Live,' including hits like “Lazy Sunday,” “Dick in a Box,” “Jizz in My Pants” and many others. In this episode, Schaffer talks about their unusual path to SNL and how directing outrageous movies like ‘Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping' led him to take on a meta ‘Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers' reboot for Disney+ starring Samberg and John Mulaney—and now the huge ‘Naked Gun' reboot starring Liam Neeson and Pamela Anderson. He also explains why he might be single handedly responsible for Netflix deciding to greenlight ‘I Think You Should Leave' with Tim Robinson. The Rich Zeoli Show- Full Episode (08/05/2025): 3:05pm- At least fifty-one Texas House Democrats fled the state as part of an effort to deny the Texas House a quorum—effectively preventing a vote on redistricting while also prolonging a vote on providing financial relief for families impacted by last month's devastating floods that killed more than 120 people. In response, Governor Greg Abbott has argued that fleeing the state to prevent the legislative process simply because you don't like the expected outcome of an upcoming vote amounts to an “abandonment or forfeiture of an elected state office.” 3:15pm- Fun Fact: Did you know that the total number of House members briefly expanded from 435 to 437 in 1959 when both Hawaii and Alaska became states. Congress temporarily approved of the expansion to prevent any existing state from losing a seat immediately upon the Hawaii/Alaska admission. 3:40pm- While appearing on CNBC, President Donald Trump said of Texas redistricting efforts: “We are entitled to five more seats.” 3:45pm- In response to Texas's redistricting attempt, Governor Gavin Newsom has pledged to redistrict California—presumably removing several Republican congressional seats. Interestingly, Republicans currently hold just 17% of the congressional seats in CA—despite nearly 40% of the state voting for Donald Trump in 2024. Doesn't that suggest the state is already heavily gerrymandered? Comparatively, Democrats currently hold 32% of the House seats in Texas (with one vacant seat in a district that is reliably blue—so, the real number is closer to 34%). Kamala Harris won 42% of the Texas statewide vote in 2024. 4:05pm- Hans von Spakovsky—Senior Legal Fellow at the Edwin Meese III Center for Legal and Judicial Studies at the Heritage Foundation—joins The Rich Zeoli Show to discuss the Department of Justice launching a grand jury investigation into the “Russiagate” hoax. 4:20pm- Rich saw the new Naked Gun movie with Liam Neeson—and it was surprisingly good! 4:35pm- Patricia Posner—Journalist & Author of the book, “The Pharmacist of Auschwitz”—joins The Rich Zeoli Show to discuss her latest piece for The New York Post, “Zohran Mamdani's NYC could look like Sadiq Khan's far-left London and New Yorkers should be terrified.” You can read the full article here: https://nypost.com/2025/08/02/opinion/zohran-mamdanis-nyc-could-look-like-sadiq-khans-far-left-london/. 4:50pm- From the White House, President Donald Trump signed an executive order creating a task force for the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, California. 5:05pm- From the White House, President Donald Trump signed an executive order creating a task force for the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, California. Following the EO signing, Trump took questions from the press—including on the war between Russia and Ukraine, supplying food to the people of Gaza, transgender athletes competing in the Olympics, halting illegal border crossings, redistricting efforts in Texas, and the possibility of the Trump Administration paying Americans a “dividend” using some of the money saved via DOGE's government waste cuts. Plus, who does he think will be the Republican presidential nominee in 2028? He hinted at a potential JD Vance-Marco Rubio ticket! 5:40pm- Earlier today, President Donald Trump toured construction projects he's funding at the White House—including a quick stroll on the roof! 5:45pm- At least fifty-one Texas House Democrats fled the state as part of an effort to deny the Texas House a quorum—effectively preventing a vote on redistricting while also prolonging a vote on providing financial relief for families impacted by last month's devastating floods that killed more than 120 people.
