It can be translated more literally as “having been graced” or “you who have been fully graced.” The tense of the word indicates that Mary has been graced by God in a unique and ongoing way, implying that this grace was not a one-time event but something encompassing her entire being and continuing to have effect.What was the Blessed Virgin Mary's response to this amazing greeting? She pondered the archangel's greeting with humility and initially responded with silence and in awe. Gabriel, aware of Mary's humility in her silence, says, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God…” Gabriel then goes on to tell her she will conceive the Son of God within her womb.Given her immaculate nature and the fullness of grace within her soul, Mary immediately obeyed the archangel's command and did not give into fear. Though we will never engage in her depth of contemplative prayer, she is our model. We must accept every divine mystery revealed to us with faith and then grapple with each mystery on a deeper level that can only be accomplished by contemplative prayer. He meets a man longing for restoration after thirty-eight years of brokenness, speaks words that defy the boundaries of the Sabbath, and calls himself equal with God—upending what people thought they knew about the source of life. Jesus invites us to receive something beyond the ordinary: union with the living God. "I am the bread of life," he says. "Whoever comes to me will never be hungry again. Whoever believes in me will never be thirsty." This bread is not simply sustenance for the body but the very life of Christ offered for the whole world. He is the true bread—the one who has what we're truly longing for. We do not draw near to Jesus because we are especially good or worthy. We come, hungry and broken, because the Father draws us. In this season, we remember the bread, the Word, that comes down from heaven—Jesus himself. He offers his flesh so that we might share in his life, be transformed by his love, and partake in his victory over death. The Father is at work, drawing us to the one who fills our deepest need. Welcome to Day 2757 of Wisdom-Trek. Thank you for joining me. This is Guthrie Chamberlain, Your Guide to Wisdom Day 2757 – Wisdom Nuggets – Psalm 102:18-28 – Daily Wisdom Wisdom-Trek Podcast Script - Day 2757 Welcome to Wisdom-Trek with Gramps! I am Guthrie Chamberlain, and we are on Day 2757 of our Trek. The Purpose of Wisdom-Trek is to create a legacy of wisdom, to seek out discernment and insights, and to boldly grow where few have chosen to grow before. The Title for Today's Wisdom-Trek is: The God Who Changes His Clothes – The Immutability of the Creator. Today, we complete our journey through the "Prayer of the Destitute," Psalm One Hundred Two. We are covering the second half, verses eighteen through twenty-eight, in the New Living Translation. In our previous trek, we sat in the ashes with the psalmist. We felt the heat of his fever, the loneliness of the "owl in the desert," and the pain of being "picked up and thrown down" by God. Yet, in the midst of the ruins of Jerusalem, we saw him pivot. He looked away from his withered heart to the Eternal Throne of Yahweh. He realized that the "set time" to favor Zion had come because God's servants had begun to "cherish the dust" of the ruined city. Now, as we move into the final section, the psalmist's vision expands even further. He stops looking merely at his own pain or even just the immediate restoration of Jerusalem. He looks forward to a future generation—a people not yet created. And then, he looks upward to the very fabric of the cosmos. He realizes that while his life is fleeting, and even the earth itself is wearing out like an old shirt, the God he serves is the Unchanging One. This section contains some of the most profound theology on the nature of God found anywhere in Scripture, passages that the New Testament authors (specifically in Hebrews Chapter One) would later apply directly to Jesus Christ. So, let us stand on this unshakable rock and look at the changing universe through the eyes of faith. The first segment is: The Written Record for the Unborn Generation. Psalm One Hundred Two: verses eighteen through twenty-two. Let this be recorded for future generations, so that a people not yet born will praise the Lord.  Tell them the Lord looked down from his heavenly sanctuary. He looked down from heaven to earth to hear the groans of the prisoners, to release those condemned to die.  And so the Lord's fame will be celebrated in Zion, his praises in Jerusalem, when multitudes gather together and kingdoms come to worship the Lord. Guthrie Chamberlain: The psalmist begins with a command that explains why we are reading this psalm today: "Let this be recorded for future generations, so that a people not yet born will praise the Lord." He is conscious that his suffering—and God's eventual deliverance—is not just for him. It is a legacy. The phrase "people not yet born" is literally "a people to be created" (am nibra). This suggests a new creation, a revived community rising from the ashes of the exile. He wants the story written down so that this...

Thanks!Revelation 11 John is given a measuring rod and told to measure the temple of God, the altar, and those who worship there, but not the outer court, for it is given to the nations. God appoints two witnesses to prophesy for 1,260 days, clothed in sackcloth. They have power to bring plagues, shut the sky, and strike the earth. After their testimony ends, the beast from the abyss kills them, and their bodies lie in the great city for three and a half days. The world rejoices over their death, but God raises them to life, and they ascend to heaven. A great earthquake follows. The seventh trumpet sounds, and voices in heaven declare that the kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of Christ, and He shall reign forever.  God's care for His people is clear in the vision of the measured temple, showing that He knows and protects those who worship Him. The two witnesses could symbolize faithful believers who speak God's truth in a hostile world. Their message brings both warning and hope, and their power comes directly from God. Even when they are struck down, God raises them to life, proving that His purposes cannot be stopped. This encourages us to remain bold in our witness, even when it comes at a cost. The seventh trumpet reveals that Christ now reigns as King. His kingdom has triumphed. We are called to trust in His victory and remain faithful, knowing that our testimony is never in vain.  Glorious Father, we praise You for Your power, justice, and unfailing promises. You protect those who worship You, and You empower Your witnesses to speak truth in a dark world. Even when evil seems to win, You raise up Your people and display Your victory. Help us to be faithful, bold, and unafraid to share Your message, no matter the cost. Strengthen our hearts with the hope that Your kingdom reigns now and forever. Let our lives reflect Your glory, and our voices proclaim Your truth. May we trust Your plan and stand firm in our calling as Your servants.  Thought Questions: God measures His temple and His people, keeping them separate from the world. And you will have joy and gladness, and many will rejoice at his birth, for he will be great in the sight of the Lord.” Luke 1:13–15Unlike Saint Joseph and the Blessed Virgin Mary, Zechariah doubted the angel of the Lord's revelation. Our Blessed Mother encountered the Archangel Gabriel at the Annunciation and responded, “Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord. May it be done to me according to your word” (Luke 1:38). An angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream, and when Joseph awoke, “he did as the angel of the Lord had commanded him” (Matthew 1:24).Today, we are given a similar scene to ponder. Zechariah and Elizabeth are identified as being “righteous in the eyes of God, observing all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blamelessly” (Luke 1:6). In other words, Zechariah was a holy man of God. While he was standing at the altar of incense located in the Holy Place, just outside the veil of the Holy of Holies, the Archangel Gabriel appeared to him to announce that his wife had conceived a child in her old age. Gabriel further reveals, “He will be filled with the Holy Spirit even from his mother's womb, and he will turn many of the children of Israel to the Lord their God” (Luke 1:15–16).Given Zechariah's personal holiness and the extraordinary revelation he received from Gabriel, he should have believed what Gabriel said without hesitation. When he failed to do so, Gabriel said to him, “I am Gabriel, who stand before God. I was sent to speak to you and to announce to you this good news. But now you will be speechless and unable to talk until the day these things take place, because you did not believe my words…” (Luke 1:19–20).This chastisement was clearly for Zechariah's benefit. Despite his lack of faith, God wanted him to participate in His divine plan of salvation. The chastisement was not a punishment in a punitive way. It was meant to instill greater faith in him, and it accomplished its purpose.Most of us are more like Zechariah than we are like our Blessed Mother and Saint Joseph. Despite our best intentions and attempts to remain faithful to God's will, we stumble. When that happens, we must see any consequences as a gift of love from God. Chastisements come in many forms. They are meant to wake us up to a greater obedience to God's will. Reflect today on any ways that your sins have resulted in consequences. It takes deep humility to admit our sins and take responsibility for their effects. Though it is easy to be angry, to point the finger elsewhere, and to justify our actions, doing so is a rejection of God's loving chastisement meant for our good. Strive to imitate Zecharaiah by humbly changing when your sin results in consequences so that God can bring good into your life, even from a lack of faith and obedience to His will.Most merciful Lord, You chastise those whom You love so as to redirect them to Your holy will. When I sin, please help me to accept the consequences with humility and as a motivation to turn back to You in fidelity and love. Please make me holy in imitation of Zechariah, Saint Joseph, and our Blessed Mother. The Gospel of John reveals Him, over and over again, in powerful signs and wonders—but those signs are not the point. They are arrows directing us to the One who gives life. During Advent, may our eyes and hearts be open to recognize Him afresh. Emmanuel—God with us—has come. He has not only identified with us by taking on our humanity but has also embraced us so that we might share in the very life and joy He has with the Father, through the Spirit. This is the depth of His love, and in that love, we find our true value—how deeply we are loved and cherished by God. Let us pray for eyes to see the signs and hearts to believe what they show us: that all is pointing to Jesus, to His love, His sacrifice, His inclusion of us into God's very life. That is my prayer for my own soul, for my family, and for you. May we see all the signs, and may they always lead us to Him. May it be so. Happiness in Marriage by Autumn Dickson This week is all about The Family Proclamation. Here is the topic I want to cover. Happiness in family life is most likely to be achieved when founded upon the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ. I want to talk about happiness in marriage specifically, but the principles I speak about can be applied more broadly to any relationship you're going to be a part of. Marriages are falling apart in our day. Satan is coming after the family in a multi-pronged attack, but destroying marriages is just one part of how he chooses to do this. Social media loves showing off images of bright and shiny couples, individuals who seem so much happier alone, and advice about how your spouse should be acting towards you. We're taught that we deserve to be happy and if we're not happy, we should leave. We're taught that if a spouse can't meet our needs, we can't be happy. We're taught that it's better for the kids if we're happy. And yet, despite all of this teaching, the world can't seem to get it together and be happy. Oh the irony. I love my marriage. I'm so grateful to have Conner, and there are a lot of reasons for that. One of those reasons is not because Conner or I have been perfect. It's not because we agree on everything, or even agree on everything that's really important. It's not because we've never been mean to each other or because we've never had to navigate days at a time where we can't really figure out how to get past something. It's not because Conner is so intuitive at reading me or because I never complain. We are two different people with different baggage, different perspectives, different personalities, different ways of handling things. We are two people who experience times of drowning stress, resentment, uncertainty, and traumas. It can be easy to look at happy couples and assume that they have it easy, but that's not true. It's not true for anyone. There are relationships that hold more difficulty than others which is why I encourage everyone to seek the help of the Lord in knowing what to do. However, if you've married a generally decent person who doesn't scream at you, belittle you, act violently towards you, financially abuse you, then there is hope for happiness. And your best chance for happiness lies in following the teachings of Jesus Christ. Christ didn't focus on communication styles or on making sure you have everything in common ahead of entering a relationship. He didn't focus on love languages or living together ahead of time to see if you're compatible or any of the other stuff that the world tries pushing so hard. He doesn't even focus on making sure the other person knows how to take care of you in a relationship. He didn't focus on changing the other person so that you could be happy. The foremost characteristic of Christ's life was love, love for God and then love for others. Everything He did, the miracles and leading and teaching and forgiving and gratitude and serving all boiled down to that great love. If we want to be happy, we have to love the other person more fully. In order to find this happiness, you have to have a correct understanding of what that love looks like. Otherwise, you run the risk of building up more resentment rather than finding happiness. Love does not mean you're a doormat. It doesn't mean you never say anything or complain. It doesn't mean that you smile and stay silent when you're hurting. Love is not an outward action. It is an inward feeling that inspires different kinds of outward actions. Sometimes love does mean looking at the back of a person and choosing to smile even when they're doing something annoying again. Sometimes it does mean mercy and forgiveness and letting go when none of it was your fault. Sometimes it means accepting them exactly as they are and finding it within yourself to feel affectionate anyway. Other times, the most loving thing you can do is speak up. Sometimes the most loving thing you can do is tell someone they're wrong. The beautiful thing about it coming from a place of love is that the Spirit can help you know how to handle the situation in the best way available. Chastisement also hits differently when you can feel that the other person is actually more worried about you rather than worried about how you're making their life harder. Think of it in this way. When Conner comes to correct me sometimes (which we do often enough for each other), I get up in arms sometimes. My gut reaction is to insist that he doesn't understand what I'm going through, and criticism isn't helpful. Luckily, I have a husband who gets this, and he often continues the conversation calmly. He also dives in and tells how it would be better for me if I chose to make different decisions. It's extremely effective. He once told me that I needed to be more consistent in my discipline with one of our kids. I was so mad. It is so difficult to keep up sometimes, and it's hard to figure out the balance between disciplining your kids and letting it go because you're desperate or because you don't want them to feel like terrible kids. But he continued on calmly. He told me that I was actually making my own life harder by letting things go, that it would only take a couple of days of consistency and my kids would know I was serious. He was totally right but beyond that, he also did it with sincere love for me, and that made all the difference. Correcting me was a form of love; it was Christlike. Not to mention, it landed differently because it was about love for me. He wasn't correcting me because I was making his life more difficult. He was correcting me because he really wanted me to live better. I'm not going to pretend this isn't a hard point to reach. It is hard to love someone when you don't feel loved. It's hard to love someone when you feel like you're the only one who has been stepping up. It's hard to love someone when you're drowning in your own stress. It calls upon some of your deepest willpower and self-observation. I'm not talking about reaching down and hollowing yourself out and giving the last pieces of yourself. I'm not talking about resigning yourself to misery because you have to love them rather than begging them to change. I'm talking about letting go of your need to change them in order for you to find happiness. I'm talking about actively working on yourself, not to stop complaining or to stop nitpicking, but to actively and consciously choose to love them in the hardest moments. If you want to be happy in family life, you have to follow the teachings of Christ. One of the foremost characteristics of Christ, the characteristic that motivated everything else, was a sincere and deep love of everyone. Including those who wouldn't change or didn't deserve it. If you want to be happy, love freely. Happiness doesn't come from being loved perfectly; it comes from loving more perfectly. That is the truth. You have to change yourself to love the other person more freely. This goes for any kind of relationship. This doesn't mean you need to stay in every relationship, but loving the other person will help you heal faster even if that person was awful. It's counterintuitive but true. Truly loving someone frees you and heals you and brings happiness. Perhaps it seems too simple for your problem. Maybe you're insisting that I don't know your spouse and how hard it is. You're right. I don't. But I do know the power of changing to be like Christ. I do know that He was the most brilliant Man to ever walk the earth. I know that He knows what He was talking about. In any situation in your marriage (or any other relationship), trying to adopt love into your heart in the way that Christ loved will make the difference. I testify that happiness in any kind of relationship comes when we act like Christ. We find happiness. I testify that even if you can't find happiness directly in your relationship, there is a powerful happiness available in drawing closer to Christ. There is a powerful happiness that comes when you find it within yourself to love the other person and lean on Christ and His deep love when you need it. Welcome to Day 2756 of Wisdom-Trek, and thank you for joining me. This is Guthrie Chamberlain, Your Guide to Wisdom – Theology Thursday – 10 Times Jesus Declared His Divinity in the Gospels. Wisdom-Trek Podcast Script - Day 2756 Welcome to Wisdom-Trek with Gramps!   I am Guthrie Chamberlain, and we are on Day 2756 of our Trek.   The Purpose of Wisdom-Trek is to create a legacy of wisdom, to seek out discernment and insights, and to boldly grow where few have chosen to grow before. Our current series of Theology Thursday lessons is written by theologian and teacher John Daniels. I have found that his lessons are short, easy to understand, doctrinally sound, and applicable to all who desire to learn more of God's Word. John's lessons can be found on his website   theologyinfive.com.   Today's lesson is titled 10 Times Jesus Declared His Divinity in the Gospels. Throughout the Gospels, Jesus repeatedly stated and demonstrated that He was God. His declarations and actions are not isolated from the broader context of Scripture but are deeply rooted in the Old Testament, which serves as the foundation for understanding His divine identity. In this article, we will examine the key moments in the Gospels where Jesus claimed divinity, using the OT to provide context and clarity. Let's look at the ten times Jesus declared his divinity. 1. Jesus as the “I AM” One of the clearest statements of Jesus' divinity comes in John eight verse fifty-eight when He declares, “Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM.” This is an unmistakable reference to Exodus three verse fourteen, where God revealed Himself to Moses as “I AM WHO I AM.” By using this title, Jesus identifies Himself with the God of Israel, YHWH (Yahweh), who spoke to Moses from the burning bush. The Jewish audience understood the weight of this statement, as they immediately sought to stone Him for blasphemy (John eight verse fifty-nine). 2. Jesus Forgives Sins In Mark two, verses five through seven, Jesus forgives the sins of a paralytic man, which prompts the scribes to question, “Why does this man speak like that? He is blaspheming! Who can forgive sins but God alone?” Here, Jesus performs an act that, according to Jewish belief, only God could do. His authority to forgive sins demonstrates that He is not merely a prophet or teacher but possesses divine authority. In Isaiah forty-three verse twenty-five, God states, “I, even I, am He who blots out your transgressions for My own sake.” Jesus' actions directly connect Him with this divine function. 3. Jesus Receives Worship In multiple instances, Jesus accepts worship, which in Jewish monotheism is reserved exclusively for God. For example, after walking on water and calming the storm, His disciples worship Him, saying, “Truly, You are the Son of God” (Matthew fourteen, verse thirty-three). In Deuteronomy six, verse thirty-three, it is commanded, “You shall worship the Lord your God and Him only shall you serve.” Yet, Jesus receives worship without rebuke, implying His divine status. In contrast, angels and apostles in the Bible refuse worship, redirecting it to God (Revelation twenty-two, verses eight and nine, Acts fourteen, verse fifteen. 4. Jesus' Claim to be the Son of Man Jesus frequently refers to Himself as the “Son of Man,” a title from Daniel seven, verses thirteen and fourteen, where the Son of Man comes “with the clouds of heaven” and is given “dominion, glory, and a kingdom” that will never pass away. This figure is distinct from ordinary human beings, as He is...

Divine healing is a gift of God's grace for all.  Just as salvation comes to us by God's grace, healing does as well. We do not deserve it and cannot earn it. In the NT people did not view healing as a right, but as an act of God's grace. We are in no position to demand God to give us healing.Main Points:1. In the church today there is a lot of false teaching about healing.   What the Bible teaches us is that healing occurs according to the will of God.  There is no magic formula.  God is concerned about our needs.  We bring them to him.  We pray.  But God is the healer.2. Admittedly, the sovereignty of God is difficult to understand. Why does He heal some and not heal others? I do not know. But this is not for me to figure out or question. My responsibility is to do what I have been instructed to do in Scripture.3. Let's remain confident in our belief that God has the power to heal the sick and that this blessing is offered to us.Today's Scripture Verses:James 5:13-15 - “Is anyone among you in trouble?
