Failure is not a matter of if—it’s a matter of when. There will be moments when you speak too quickly, act impatiently, neglect wise counsel, or fall short of your own expectations. The real question isn’t whether you’ll fail. It’s how you’ll see yourself when you do. Isaiah 54:10 offers a powerful anchor: even if mountains move and hills disappear, God’s steadfast love will not depart from you. Your failures do not shake His covenant of peace. His compassion is not fragile. It is fixed. When we fail, we tend to drift toward one of two extremes: pride or shame. Pride tells us we can fix everything on our own. Shame tells us everything is ruined beyond repair. But both are lies. We were never meant to sustain ourselves apart from God. Apart from Christ, failure can feel crushing—especially if we tie our worth to roles like parenting, career, marriage, or ministry. But our identity was never meant to rest on performance. God knew every weakness we would wrestle with long before we were born. Yet He still formed us with purpose. Your mistakes do not erase your calling. They do not cancel your value. And they certainly do not rewrite your story. God holds the pen. His redemptive grace is stronger than your missteps. The vintage photograph from the World War II era, taken outside a town’s Nazi headquarters, carries a warning for all of us. In the photo, a comfortably dressed woman is crossing the street. A man in a suit walks down the sidewalk, while another has stopped to read a bulletin board on the corner of the building. All seem oblivious to the large banner hanging above the headquarters’ front door, half as long as the building. It read, “By resisting the Jew, I fight for the work of the Lord.” This kind of treachery is what God had in mind when He commanded, “You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God, for the Lord will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses his name” (Exodus 20:7). This command covers misusing His name when we curse or when we carelessly shout God’s name when we stub a toe or smash a finger. It also includes perversion—using God’s name as cover for evil. We shouldn’t assume we’re doing God’s work simply because others say we are. We must prayerfully check our work with what God reveals as wise and good in the Bible. How can we know we’re serving Him? “By living according to your word” (Psalm 119:9). The God who commands us to “always give [ourselves] fully to the work of the Lord” has told us what that is in His holy book (1 Corinthians 15:58). Let’s listen to Him.

Tim and Mary take a look at the news cycle once again, and while it generally resembles all the news cycles, one thing we can count on is that in Jesus, His mercies are new every morning; this can never be true in the world. He is the faithful one, and no matter how tiresome this world becomes, the one thing God says we need is His mercy, not more dark news about man’s inhumanity to man. So we start there, and then try and make sense of this divisive, judgment ready world. Today we look at the continued blame for everything on white men who love Jesus;  Mike Huckabee’s attempt to reason with Tucker; and the world marching to the beat of Antichrist, especially in Europe where the spirit of the AC has preceded him. As interesting as it all is, and helpful to watch the times, Lamentations 3:22-26 says it all:  “Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness. The Lord is my portion, says my soul, therefore I hope in Him! The Lord is good to those who wait for Him, to the soul who seeks Him. It is good that one should hope and wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.” (NKJV)

As part of their covenant with the Lord, the Israelites were given regulations concerning what is considered clean and unclean. At times this is a means of health and well-being, at other times it serves as a distinction from surrounding nations. The term “unclean” doesn't necessarily mean those things are dirty, germ-infested, or immoral, though some of them certainly are, but these things are all ceremonially unclean; this is how Israel is to be set-apart from other nations, and given fully to the Lord. These regulations would have made Israel a distinct people on the earth, and the nations would know by their actions that they were fully devoted to the Lord. That might sound like a modern idea—broadcasting—but it's much older than radio or television. Broadcasting originally described scattering seeds wide and far, casting them broadly upon the earth. In much the same way, Jesus describes the message of God's kingdom: it is broadcast, sent out to as many as will hear. But as we see in today's reading, it is not enough merely to receive the seed. There must be a certain kind of readiness—a heart that is prepared, the right disposition of spirit—to take in this life-giving message. Jesus says we must have ears to hear, because the world is filled with static, with distractions, with spiritual enemies and inner desires that threaten to drown out the voice of God. Each of us faces barriers—whether it's the cares of life, the lure of wealth, or just the stubbornness of our hearts. There is an old proverb: when the student is ready, the teacher will arrive. Jesus is telling us much the same: that there must be readiness of heart to receive, understand, and respond to his words. But those open ears and receptive hearts aren't the result of our own goodness, of our piety or our accomplishments. Far more often, they're the fruit of our brokenness and failure. It's the humble, contrite, broken heart that finds itself finally ready to hear—and respond to—the broadcasted message of God. There is something about being broken that tunes our ears and softens our hearts so that we finally understand God's invitation. If you hear his voice today, that voice whispering, "I am with you," do not harden your heart. Respond. Let him heal. Let him mend. Let him sit with you right where you are, in this very moment. That is my prayer for my own soul, and for my family—for my wife and daughters and son. And it is my prayer for you. May it be so. Day 2805 – Wisdom Nuggets – Psalm 114:1-14 – Daily Wisdom Wisdom-Trek Podcast Script - Day 2805 Welcome to Wisdom-Trek with Gramps! I am Guthrie Chamberlain, and we are on Day two thousand eight hundred five of our Trek. The Purpose of Wisdom-Trek is to create a legacy of wisdom, to seek out discernment and insights, and to boldly grow where few have chosen to grow before. The Title for Today's Wisdom-Trek is: The Cup of Salvation – Rescued from the Cords of Death Today, we are continuing our profound journey through the Egyptian Hallel. This is the collection of praise songs, sung by the Jewish people during the Passover festival, commemorating their deliverance from slavery. We are stepping into the deeply personal territory of Psalm One Hundred Sixteen, covering verses one through fourteen, in the New Living Translation. To fully appreciate where we are standing today, we must look back at the trail we just hiked in Psalm One Hundred Fifteen. In that previous trek, we stood amidst the great, living choir of Israel. We heard the worship leader call out to the nation, the priests, and all who fear the Lord, commanding them to trust in the Maker of heaven and earth. We learned that the heavens belong to Yahweh, but the earth has been given to humanity, as His authorized representatives. The psalm ended with a stark reminder: the dead cannot sing praises; therefore, we must praise the Lord while we still have breath in our lungs. Psalm One Hundred Sixteen takes that final thought about life, death, and praise, and turns it into a vivid, first-hand testimony. If Psalm One Hundred Fifteen was a massive, public choir singing about the theology of God, Psalm One Hundred Sixteen is a single, trembling voice, singing about the intimacy of God. The psalmist has just survived a near-death experience. He was standing on the absolute brink of the grave, staring into the abyss, and God reached down and pulled him back. As we read this, remember that this was sung by Jesus and His disciples on the very night He was betrayed. Jesus sang these words about the "snares of death," knowing that within hours, He would be facing the cross. So, let us walk closely with the psalmist, and discover what it means to lift the cup of salvation. The first segment is: Psalm One Hundred Sixteen: verses one through four I love the Lord because he hears my voice and my prayer for mercy. Because he bends down to listen, I will pray as long as I have breath! Death wrapped its ropes around me; the terrors of the grave overtook me. I saw only trouble and sorrow. Then I called on the name of the Lord: "Please, Lord, save me!" The psalm begins with a raw, unfiltered declaration of affection: "I love the Lord." It is actually quite rare in the Psalms for the writer to begin with such a blunt, personal statement of love. But why does he love God? "Because he hears my voice and my prayer for mercy." Notice the beautiful, physical imagery the psalmist uses to describe God's attentiveness:...

Okay, try to picture it. Maybe you don't have to picture it. Maybe you've been there. It's the Friday morning after Thanksgiving, just before doors open at, let's say, Walmart. It's still dark, but a lot of people are lined up, anxiously waiting to enter. It's the day of those fabulous sales that stores like this have to encourage your early Christmas shopping. And for a short time after the doors open, there are some absolutely amazing prices on many popular items. But you have to move quickly and scoop them up. One year recently, I remember the crush of people was so great, at one store a lady was nearly trampled to death when the doors opened. And at another store, another year, a man actually was trampled to death. Once you're in the store, you know what to do. No browsing. No chatting. You're on a mission! Just look for those sales opportunities and grab them while you can! I'm Ron Hutchcraft and I want to have A Word With You today about "Grabbing Opportunities to Save a Life." Aggressively seizing opportunities because time is short - that's not just a picture of a sale day shopper. That's supposed to be the picture of every follower of Jesus Christ. Not just browsing and cruising through our days, but really making them count...really making a difference with your life. If you read our word for today from the Word of God in the original language of the New Testament, you can see just that kind of urgency and intensity. It's Ephesians 5:15-16 - "Be very careful, then, how you live - not as unwise, but as wise" - now what follows is God's definition of what it means to "live smart." "...making the most of every opportunity because the days are evil." The original Greek conveys the idea of aggressively buying up every opportunity you have to do something about the darkness around you. Near the end of this letter that Paul wrote from a prison cell, probably chained to a Roman guard, he gives us a living example of this "make a difference" mindset in action. He says, "Pray also for me, that whenever I open my mouth, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the Gospel...pray that I will declare it fearlessly, as I should." In another letter, we learn that there were believers ultimately in Caesar's household; likely some of those soldiers Paul spent so much time with. He saw his imprisonment, not so much as an ordeal, but as an opportunity to tell people there about his Jesus and to rescue them from evil. Life is full of life-saving opportunities for those with eyes to see them; for those who understand that we're supposed to be looking for them wherever we are. I know when one member of our family was in the hospital, the reason seemed clear. There was a patient who left a trail of Jesus all through that hospital. There just to get well? No. They were there positioned by God to help spiritually rescue some of the people in that hospital. If you want to make the greatest possible difference with the rest of your life, and I hope you do. If you want to help some people be in heaven with you, and I hope you do. Then each morning pray for natural opportunities to bring up your Jesus. "Lord, open a door." Then look for those opportunities to open up. Buy them up like an alert shopper. When someone shares a burden or a concern with you, don't just promise to pray for them. Ask if you can pray with them right then. Chances are they have never heard their name in a prayer all their life! I've never had anyone turn down that offer by the way. And if God opens the door, tell them after you pray that you weren't always able to talk to God like that because there used to be a wall between you and Him that Jesus took down. Look for opportunities to share your personal hope story, which is the story of the difference Jesus has made for you in certain life situations, particular needs, and certainly your eternal situation. Look for those opportunities. Pray for those opportunities. Grab those opportunities. Why? Because God is putting people in your life so they can have a chance at Jesus...and a chance at heaven. That's an opportunity you just must not miss.

Elder Clark G. Gilbert of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles and his wife, Sister Christine Gilbert, have seen the hand of the Lord in their lives as they have strived to live the covenants they made at baptism and in the house of the Lord.   The Gilberts have grown closer as a family and learned how to give and receive the Savior’s relief while fulfilling professional and Church assignments. As the newest Apostle in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Elder Gilbert knows he is to be a special witness of the name of Christ in all the world (see Doctrine and Covenants 107:23). By this time, He had healed the sick, cast out demons, raised the dead, preached many powerful sermons, and changed many hearts. Despite that, many in the crowds did not believe in Him and demanded more signs.Additionally, the Pharisees were becoming increasingly hostile toward our Lord. In Luke's Gospel, they confront and criticize Jesus several times before this passage. In today's Gospel, Jesus addresses His rebuke to these Pharisees and the unbelieving crowds.If Jesus' generation was “an evil generation,” what would He say about our own? In many ways, we are becoming a global culture. While there are countless faithful followers of Christ worldwide, evil seems to be more pervasive today, perhaps more noticeable due to the ease of worldwide communication.Though Jesus delivered His sermons to specific people in His time, His words transcend time and are meant for every generation. When He says, “This generation is an evil generation…,” we must understand that He is also speaking to us today.When Jesus says His generation “seeks a sign,” He points out a common human temptation. Many approach the Gospel skeptically, demanding irrefutable proof that they should change their lives, believe in the Good News, and abandon sin. In today's world, some even glorify sin, treating virtue as outdated or foolish. This distorted outlook leads many to disregard the most important sign of all—Jesus' Death and Resurrection.Yet Jesus is clear: “…no sign will be given it, except the sign of Jonah.” Jonah's three days in the belly of the fish prefigured Jesus' three days in the tomb. In other words, Jesus' Death and Resurrection is the one and only sign given to us. This is striking because so many fail to pay attention to this ultimate sign of salvation. In the end, we can only change ourselves and hope that our conversion becomes a witness to others.Do you believe in this sign? Do you believe that Jesus' Life, Death, and Resurrection is the sole path to salvation? Most likely, you do. But how deep is that belief?Though Jesus performed many miracles during His earthly ministry, He did so as a response to the faith already present in those around Him. Today, the same is true. Physical miracles mean little compared to the saving Passion, Death, and Resurrection of Christ. They are merely reflections of the greatest miracle—eternal salvation. If you truly want to witness a miracle, turn to this supreme gift of grace and mercy. Believe with all your heart, and you will witness the transformation of your soul, which is the greatest miracle of all. Reflect today on Jesus' rebuke of the evil surrounding us, which demands proof but refuses to see the one sign that truly matters. The only proof Jesus offers is the grace that transforms us. When we discover and embrace this grace, we will know, believe, and be changed. Open your heart to the miracle of conversion that God desires to bestow upon you, and become a witness of Christ's greatest miracle for others to see. My miraculous Lord, though many in every age seek superficial signs, You offer the one true miracle that brings salvation—Your Life, Death, and Resurrection. Please help me to believe with unwavering faith, and protect me from the evil of this generation. Transform my heart so that I may be the fruit of the miracle You wish to give to the world. TODAY'S DEVOTION: They had questions in their hearts that stood in the way of them receiving healing and forgiveness. Sometimes our questions are more of an accusation or an indictment than they are real questions. The teachers of religious law saw Jesus extend compassion to this paralytic. They stood there and watched Jesus respond to these four men who had come in faith bringing their friend in need. They watched these men do outrageous things like digging through a roof and lowering their friend right smack dab in front of Jesus. These friends had interrupted all that was going on so that they could get an audience with Jesus. The teachers observed all this take place, and they saw Jesus respond not just with compassion and healing but with forgiveness of sins. And they objected. They accused him. They indicted him. "What is he saying? He's blaspheming. Only God can forgive sins," they said. What was in these religious teachers' hearts was disbelief that God could really make good on his promise in scripture to send his son to heal and restore the world. They were insisting on their own way, a way like all religion that had learned how to leverage sin, to leverage despair, to leverage the frailty of people for their own advantage. But Jesus, he offers us a new way. Not the old wineskin—no, this is new wine. Not the old garment, but something absolutely new. Not us fulfilling the law, not us being faithful, not us being holy. It's not us at all. Rather, it's all God. God has put it all on himself. God is fulfilling the law. God is being faithful. God is being holy. The new way is not to look at our own efforts and our own piety. The new way is simply to look to the One, to Jesus, who has come to fulfill all that was needed for a human race that is paralyzed, unable to stand upright and walk. The Gospel is what God has done. It is already finished. It is not a transactional proposition. It is not, "If you do this, God will do that." It's not quid pro quo. No, the Gospel is all God. What he has already accomplished for the world on the cross. Ours is to awaken to the new reality, the new wine that is right here, right now. It is a declaration of what already is. It's the good news. You already are forgiven. You already belong to him even before you knew it. Today, let us place our hearts before the God who alone has already done all that is needed. Today, let us hear his words spoken to the paralytic: "Your sins are forgiven." That's for you. Now get up, take your mat, and walk. That's the prayer that I have for my own soul. That's the prayer that I have for my family, for my wife and my daughters and my son. And that's a prayer that I have for you. May it be so. TODAY'S PRAYERS: Lord God Almighty and everlasting father you have brought us in safety to this new day preserve us with your Mighty power that we might not fall into sin or be overcome by adversity. Eventually it does return, albeit more slowly than we might wish. Life can be like that sometimes, where tough situations are slow to change and improve. When you find yourself feeling down and out, how do you respond? Do you turn to God and patiently wait for the bad times to pass? Do you develop a bad attitude to match the circumstances? Or do you just go with the flow? As Christians, we pray to God with anticipation and hope for the good times of life. There are many of them. However, again, as Christians, we also know that God doesn’t solely promise us good times. The bad times are, in fact, a part of this miracle we call life. And they’re just as important. In effect, life is an alternating sequence of seasons in which we experience highs and lows. Those upbeat moments are much easier to handle and appreciate. The difficulties, on the other hand, can leave us scratching our heads, wondering when God will step in to rescue us. If this sounds like you, you’re not alone. Everyone at some point will be waiting for the sun to shine again. Don’t focus on your problems. One major mistake people often make when struggling in life is harping on their misfortunes. They pray about it, think about it, and talk about it a lot. Not only that, but our culture promotes ideas such as self-love and affirmation so often that people think good vibes will cast away their problems. Life’s not so simple. In fact, focusing on yourself often makes the problem seem bigger than it is. So, what’s the solution? Think less about yourself and more about others. Rather than dwell on the bad things happening, spend some time thinking about the good. Go out and do good in the world. What you will discover is that sometimes the problems go away, and even if they don’t, when your mind is set on other things, the problems were never as bad as you originally thought. Find ways to stay encouraged. Choosing not to focus on your problems doesn’t magically make you feel better. Hard times can still leave us feeling sad, angry, and worse, suicidal. That’s why it’s important that we know how to find encouragement. Your specific ways may look different from mine, but what’s important is that we have a reliable game plan. The bad times will come. That’s a certainty. And when they do, wisdom calls for us to be prepared. Take some time to consider where you currently find encouragement and where else you ought to go. Some helpful solutions include prayer, church, loved ones, a gratitude journal, exercise, producing art, and so much more. Learn contentment. Sometimes God says yes, sometimes no, and sometimes not yet. The latter can be difficult to understand, especially when you feel so justified in your pleas to the Lord. However, God is God. He’s not going to change a circumstance every time we ask. There could be a lesson for us to learn, or maybe we’re feeling the effects of sin, or both. As Paul learned to be satisfied with God’s grace as he struggled with a thorn in the flesh, so too must we. Based on how he lived, the formula for contentment is probably something like faith plus patience plus gratitude. Obviously, that’s contrary to our human nature and won’t come naturally. Yet, God is able to supply all of our needs and desires to see us grow. We have to do our part to seek that growth. The valleys of life will come and come again. That’s a fact. Yet, we can also be well-prepared to handle. Waiting for the sun to shine again is not easy, but you know that it’s coming. Take hope today. Abimelech, king of Gerar, recognizes that God has blessed Abraham and sees the importance of being on good terms with such a prominent man. The two come to an agreement intended for themselves and their posterity. That agreement is put to the test when a dispute arises concerning a well of water. The name given to the well, Beersheba, recalls both the oath made there and the prominence of the number seven. Abraham plants a tree there and calls upon the LORD as the Everlasting God. This account of Abimelech and Abraham serves as a reminder that the LORD will bless all nations through Abraham and his offspring.  Rev. I don't know if you're like me, but have you ever wondered where children learn all the psychology they seem to know? They use it pretty effectively to get their way. Oh, we adults have to take courses in child psychology. They don't take courses in adult psychology, but they do pretty well. Kids learn very early how to maneuver, and motivate, and manipulate to get what they want. They use division. You know, like divide and conquer. Kind of get Mom and Dad played against each other. They use guilt sometimes to do it; sometimes, they even use, yeah, deception. Now, I've traveled a lot in my lifetime, and my wife had to be especially alert for one particular tactic as the kids were growing up. They'd say, "Oh, we're going to do such and such." And she'd say, "Well, who said you could?" "Daddy." Of course I wasn't there, no verification possible. So maybe Mom might be fooled if you said it just right, unless I called, until I got home. Then kids learn an important life lesson, "Don't put your Father's name on something he does not approve of." I'm Ron Hutchcraft and I want to have A Word With You today about "Your Father Never Said You Could." Our word for today from the Word of God comes from 1 Samuel 15. I'm going to begin reading at verse 10. Understand that King Saul has been asked to lead the Jews in the eradication of a cancer called the Amalekites, and to destroy not only their armies and their leadership, but also all of the loot that might be taken so there would be no trace left of the poison that they had become. Well, the Bible says, "Then the word of the Lord came to Samuel, 'I am grieved that I have made Saul king, because he's turned away from Me and has not carried out my instructions.' Samuel was troubled and he cried out to the Lord all night." Well, then we read in verse 13, "When Samuel reached him, Saul said, 'The Lord bless you. I have carried out the Lord's instruction.'" He had not. "But Samuel said, 'What then is this bleating of the sheep in my ears? What is this lowing of the cattle that I hear?' 'Oh, but I did obey the Lord' Saul said. 'I went on the mission the Lord assigned me. The soldiers took sheep and cattle from the plunder. The best was devoted to God in order to sacrifice them to the Lord your God.'" Well, that just doesn't work. God isn't fooled! You notice here, though, that he tries to make something rebellious into something religious. He's talking about the Lord all the time, but he's disobeying Him. Saul is trying a child's trick to justify something wrong: putting your Father's name on what you're doing. That happens a lot. You can justify almost anything by saying, "The Lord led me." I talked to a man who divorced his wife not too long ago to marry a relative of his, of hers really. And he said, "Well, Ron, the Bible says love is of God, and I love this woman. So it must be right." Come on, it's bad enough to break God's law. Don't put God's name on it. Don't try to put a spiritual makeup job on leaving your husband or wife when God says, "I hate divorce." Don't rationalize materialism by saying, "Well, I want to make more so I can give more to the Lord's work." Don't make a decision to do what you want to do, and then dignify it by calling it "the Lord's will." Don't try to dress up undisciplined living by calling it, "following the Spirit's moving." That's taking God's name in vain. We Bible folks have this way of dressing up sin rather than dealing with it. Saul learned that it doesn't work to put spiritual names on sin and religious words on rebellion. Oh, my kids learned not to put their Father's name on something that their Father didn't approve of. God's kids need to learn that about their Father. Don't dress up a sinful choice in God-words. Your Father never said you could do what you're doing.

Trusting God for our financial needs feels especially real when life gets tight. When savings shrink, markets fluctuate, or expenses rise faster than income, the pressure exposes what—or who—we truly rely on. Long before budgets, retirement accounts, or emergency funds existed, one man stood on a mountain believing God could provide in the most impossible circumstances. His story in Genesis 22 gives us one of the most powerful names of God in all of Scripture: “The Lord Will Provide.” And it offers a blueprint for faithful stewardship today. Provision Is Forged in Pressure Trusting God's provision rarely happens in comfort. It's forged in seasons when resources feel thin, and the future looks uncertain. Throughout Scripture, God's people learn His faithfulness not at banquets, but in deserts. Not in surplus, but in scarcity. Whether wandering in the wilderness, facing famine, or standing before overwhelming odds, they discover that provision isn't merely about resources—it's about relationship. God is not simply someone who provides. He is the Provider. But biblical faith isn't naïve optimism, nor is it passive resignation. Faith rests in God's character, moves forward in obedience, and trusts Him with the outcome. Abraham on the Mountain Genesis 22 is one of the clearest pictures of this kind of faith. God asks Abraham to offer Isaac, his son of promise. It's a shocking command, and we're meant to feel its weight. Isaac is the one through whom God promised to build a nation “as numerous as the stars.” Without Isaac, the covenant appears to collapse. Yet Abraham obeys. Before climbing the mountain, he tells his servants, “Stay here with the donkey; the boy and I will go over there and worship; then we will come back to you” (Genesis 22:5). Notice what he says: we will come back. The author of Hebrews explains Abraham's reasoning: “He considered that God was able even to raise him from the dead” (Hebrews 11:19). Abraham trusted that God's promise was more certain than the circumstances he could see. And when Abraham raised the knife, God intervened—not before the climb, not halfway up the mountain, but at the exact moment when obedience and trust met. A ram was provided in Isaac's place. It's there Abraham names the place: “The Lord will provide” (Genesis 22:14). What “The Lord Will Provide” Really Means To say God provides isn't to say He always provides in the way we expect. It means His character is generous, attentive, and faithful. He knows our needs before we ask. He meets them according to His wisdom—not our timeline. That shifts how we think about financial provision. Scripture commends diligence. “The hand of the diligent makes rich” (Proverbs 10:4). It warns against laziness. But diligence and provision are not the same thing. We work. God provides the harvest. Modern financial fear often comes from trying to secure every possible outcome. We want guarantees. We want certainty. We want control. But the great enemy of faith isn't need—it's self-reliance. When we believe we are our own providers, we shoulder a burden we were never designed to carry. The apostle Paul writes, “My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19). Notice the scale and the source: According to His riches, not ours. Three Ways Trust Changes Our Stewardship When we truly believe God provides, three things begin to shift. 1. We Plan Without Panic Wisdom plans for the future. Scripture affirms preparation and foresight. But planning becomes idolatry when it tries to eliminate dependence. Trust allows us to budget, save, and invest without fear driving every decision. Our spreadsheets serve us—they don't rule us. 2. We Give Without Fear Generosity flows from security. If we believe God replenishes, we can release. Hudson Taylor famously said, “God's work done in God's way will never lack God's supply.” When God is our provider, generosity becomes an act of confidence, not recklessness. 3. We Endure Lean Seasons With Hope Scarcity is not wasted space in the life of faith. Lean seasons refine us. They remind us that our ultimate security rests not in accounts, assets, or accolades—but in the Lord who sees. Abraham learned something profound on that mountain—not just that God provides, but who God is. Provision in Scripture is relational. God provides so His people know Him more deeply and so the watching world sees His faithfulness. Faithful Stewardship Without Fear Trusting God's provision doesn't mean we stop budgeting, working, or stewarding wisely. It means we do those things without trying to control the narrative. Our responsibility is faithfulness. God's responsibility is provision. When life tightens and financial pressure mounts, Genesis 22 invites us to lift our eyes beyond the mountain in front of us and remember the name Abraham proclaimed: The Lord will provide. And He still does. "Has the LORD indeed spoken only through Moses? Has he not spoken through us also?" Miriam and Aaron, Moses' own siblings, challenge his unique authority. They use his Cushite wife as a pretext, but their real complaint is against Moses' position. God Himself intervenes, and Miriam is struck with leprosy.
