Terry Romine is a huge resource for people that beat up their bodies and break themselves down. Like me. As a well known sports chiropractor, Terry works with some of the top athletes and biggest sports brands in the world. While his practice is in Costa Mesa, CA he does extensive on-location work around the world with his athletes. He does this for events like the World Surf League and this thing called the Olympics.Terry is as cool and humble as they come and has made a huge impact on my life and the lives (and bodies) of many others.

Sometimes I record minisodes that I need to hear for my own personal or professional life, and this is definitely one of them! I know a lot of you who listen to the podcast probably consume a decent amount of personal growth podcasts, books, etc. and that's a great thing! However, the thing to watch out for is perfectionism and/or high achievement in personal growth because that can be detrimental. Some questions to ask yourself to see if this might be you: Are you consuming so much self help that you forget that it's okay to be human? That life hurts and is hard sometimes? Do you compare where you are to others, and feel bad that you're not where you think you're supposed to be? Do you forget sometimes that it's completely normal to feel like shit at times, to go through incredibly challenging seasons and not have ways to get out of it? Please remember that we don't always have to be in a state of perpetual forward movement. Sometimes we move back, and sometimes we are still. It's never linear. In addition, there will be times in your life where you have some or even a lot of negative self-talk. I close this minisode out with reading an excerpt from Make Some Noise about his topic, as well as a little pep talk at the end. It is normal for human bodies to be a little bit different, from the shape of our bones, to how tall we are, to how flexible we are. We can work to improve our strength, flexibility, and coordination doing Pilates, but we are all starting at different points, and we do have some structural limitations that are unique to us. That doesn't mean we need to give up on our pursuit of attaining a difficult Pilates exercise, but we can give ourselves grace and and recognize that our body's version of the exercise may not look exactly like someone else's. And that's okay! I want to hear from you! Share your thoughts and follow the podcast on Instagram and Facebook @pilatesstudentsmanual. In Episode 172, Mark and Steve tackle a topic that is extremely difficult, triggering and traumatizing for the partners of porn/sex addicts and even for the addicts themselves—the line between "attraction and lust." This episode is in response to a situation and questions submitted by a PBSE listener—Hi Mark and Steve, The PBSE podcast really has been such a Godsend helping inform my husband and I of the possibility of hope and healing. We had our 4th D-day a few months ago, but in some ways it was the very first, as we finally have acknowledged the impact my husband's porn addiction has had on our marriage (4 years married) and the damage "ignoring it" has done. We are really starting to experience some great progress even after a few months of fighting for genuine connection. My question, however, is this: why do men often struggle with the concept of monogamy? My husband and I really struggle to see eye to eye, as he seems to believe that men are wired to notice and be drawn to the physical bodies of other women. He also believes that, then, monogamy is a choice to live the best way God intended and to choose to not act on those desires, and it will be a constant battle with temptation. He does not see a day in the future when he will not value and be curious about female specific body parts on others, even after recovered from porn addiction. Is this the porn addiction speaking? Or is there an element of truth to this? This is so outside of my own experience of sexuality as a woman, and I am really challenged to see a future with someone who will always prize female sexualized body parts—mine, but also the general public, and see that as normal. I have loved the episodes that have touched on public encounters/experiences and making a plan with your spouse for areas that could be challenging. However, I would love to hear this facet answered on the PBSE podcast if you'd be willing. Thank you so much.Learn more about Mark and Steve's revolutionary online porn/sexual addiction recovery and betrayal trauma healing program—"Dare to Connect!" Buddha Heart, Devil's Hand- The difference between Special Forces and Normal Humans Gregg PUP Johnson http://pakari.nz/ Welcome to the sequel!! After such a popular show the first time around, it was a necessity to have Pup back on to share his knowledge, in order to help others. We spoke about a wide range of subjects, so strap in! Starting with the difference between an SF Operator mindset -where they make life and death decisions and movements multiple times every single day vs a regular cop or civilian who may never be faced with such an inhuman choice - we progressed to how Pakari is helping the NZ Army develop it's people's resilience and mindsets. We talked about transition ( from military and/or sporting worlds) and the effects of Purpose, Belonging and Identity. A life of service changes a person, and shapes his/her mind and it's imperative to realise this going forward so we can grow and flourish afterwards. Again, sit back and enjoy a truly open and honest conversation with a NZSAS (New Zealand Special Air Service) Regiment Operator, Instructor and leader in teaching through Mother Nature. In this episode, I interview Angela Peacock, a woman who served in Iraq with the US Army and experienced multiple traumas there. She was sent to medical professionals, both military and civilian, and at one point, was on 18 different psychotropic medications. She began to wonder, "If I'm on all this medicine, why don't I feel good?" She realized her post-traumatic stress was a normal human response to the events in her life and didn't need to be medicated. She got help and began the excruciating process of tapering off her medication which took a total of 20 years from her diagnosis to being off all medication. During that time, she earned her MSW degree and currently works as a coach helping people come off their psychotropic medication safely without horrific withdrawal effects. Her journey is documented in the film, Medicating Normal. Listen to her story; it's a story of a real hero. To reach Angela professionally, visit her website at angiepeacock.com. To follow her healing journey and her van life on YouTube, Facebook and Instagram under the handle @beinghumanrv where as a human, she is experiencing everything on her way to living the best life anyone has ever lived. Our guest this week is the hilarious and fiery Lauren Link! You may know her from her snarky IG posts (find her on IG @linktonutrition) debunking diet culture myths as it relates to sports nutrition and nutrition for the average joe. Lauren is an ex collegiate soccer player and director of sports nutrition at Purdue University. She was one of the first full time sports dietitians and has been working to grow the field ever since, providing programs to dietetics students to get sports nutrition experience and serving on the Collegiate and Professional Sports Dietetics Association (CPSDA) board. You'll hear all about this in the episode, but her passion lies in empowering her student athletes with the tools to take care of themselves after they graduate and no longer have an abundance of resources at their fingertips. We talk about identity after sport, how to stay healthy as a “normal human”, and how intuitve eating fits into sports like wrestling. On top of all of that, she answers our question: can you perform your best while intuitive eating?

Maybe you're just a down ‘n dirty Monster F#©ker? Either way, boy, have we got the episode of Genre Grinder for you. Join Gabe and first-time special guest Arianny Pilarte (@laciguapa) of Not All Podcasts Wear Capes fame as we talk about the long-standing fictional phenomenon of loving, smooching, and screwing movie monsters, from vampires and zombies, to Beasts (of the “Beauty and” variety) and fishmen. This is a broad subject, so, for this podcast, we've narrowed it down to four movies: Kathryn Bigelow's Near Dark (1987), Tony Ching Siu-Tung's Chinese Ghost Story (1987), Brian Yuzna's Return of the Living Dead III (1993), and Joel Schumacher's Phantom of the Opera (2004). Note that we occasionally had some latency issues, so Gabe talks to himself for a few minutes during the Near Dark discussion. Since early in the 20th century people's imaginations have been captured by the notion of visitors from the Great Beyond visiting our blue pearl of a planet. And of course, for the vast majority of people, and for decades and decades, this “Great Beyond” was assumed to be outer space: the vast array of galaxies, star systems and planets populating the immense expanse of the Cosmos. When sightings of soon-to-be-branded “flying saucers” were first reported in the 1940s, it was taken as a given that these fast-moving flying vehicles, which were apparently unlikely to be the technology of terrestrial civilization, were examples of these visitors from outer-space finally arrived to make our acquaintance. Immediately the media was saturated with images of “little green men” from nearby planets like Mars, as our imaginations filled in the gaps as to who was piloting these advanced craft. This view which suggested that these visitors were from outer-space held sway for decades more — even though the potential originating planet for these extra-terrestrials was pushed farther and farther away, as we began to understand more and more about the apparent lifelessness of the neighboring planets within our own solar system. However, by the time the 1960s rolled around, and gaining steam ever since then, competing hypotheses emerged to explain the source of these apparent Others. And some of these hypotheses even began to question the assumption that these Others were actually really “Visitors” at all. Researchers likes Jacques Vallee and John Keel, who had examined thousands of cases each, and who tended to be much more familiar with the totality of the data as compared with armchair enthusiasts, began to take note of data-points that suggested perhaps these “aliens” weren't visiting from far-flung star systems after all. The way these Others seemed to blink in and out of existence, for instance, led some of these more nuanced researchers to wonder if perhaps these Others were popping in and out of different dimensions, almost instantaneously. And if that were true then they weren't necessarily really coming from far away at all. In fact, they may be dropping in from a mirror universe; perhaps even from an alternate Earth, thus giving birth to what's often referred to as the Interdimensional Hypothesis. When researchers like the aforementioned Vallee and Keel considered the long history of the so-called UFO Phenomenon, they wondered if perhaps stories buried in the lore of distant history – here we speak of elves, goblins, the fae, etc., may actually be instances of contact with the same beings who are piloting the craft we see buzzing around our skies today, and who are interacting with modern human beings in consistently – and similarly – confoundingly mysterious ways. There are various forms that new hypotheses take to account for all of the data we've described above, but a common term that's arisen to describe these not necessarily extraterrestrial Others, is “ultraterrestrial”. This term is seen to capture the sense that perhaps these Others are native to the Earth after all, and may indeed have been here longer than us. But it also allows for the sense that they either: don't seem to be necessarily tied only to the earth, in our experience of it anyway, and/or that they exist in a bandwidth of reality that only sometimes brings them into direct contact with us – or at least, into a kind of direct contact that we can actually perceive. Perhaps they can see us all the time, but we only seem to be able to “see” them when certain, as of now unknown, conditions are met. The notion of these ultraterrestrial others is the topic of this, the 24th episode of the Point of Convergence podcast.
We covered a lot of ground this week, jumping from new shows like The Bad Batch and Girls5Eva, to new movies on Netflix The Mitchells vs the Machines and Army of the Dead, to the debut issues of Wonder Girl and Time Before Time.

Clarity in your offer is what will make or break your mom coaching business. You need to be able to express who it is you serve, what problems you can address with your coaching skills and what concrete results you can deliver to your ideal client with your coaching package. But what I find often happens is that coaches get stuck in the bramble of phrases like 'discover your authentic self', 'find transformation' and 'connect with integrity'. I get it. You know why? Because I'm a coach too! But let's talk about how to rein in the coaching lingo and start speaking super clear and concisely how you help moms in your very unique, and soon to be in demand, coaching business.

The proteins MUC18 and Mader have been identified as markers of tumor progression in melanoma cells, MUC18, also known as MCAM (melanoma cell adhesion molecule) and as CD146 (endothelial antigen), is a cell adhesion molecule belonging to the immunoglobulin superfamily, Mader is a transcriptional regulator shown to negatively regulate EGR-1. As it is known that neoplastic cells of neuroectodermal origin frequently express neuron-specific molecules, we studied whether these melanoma-associated antigens are found in normal CNS tissue. We investigated the expression of MUC18/MCAM and Mader in adult human post mortem CNS tissue by immunohistochemistry, immunoblot and two-dimensional gel electrophoresis. Our results show that Mader is preferentially expressed on neurons and glial cells and that the adhesion protein MUC18/MCAM is mainly expressed on vasculature within the CNS. These observations may have important implications for further studies investigating their possible roles in cell adhesion and proliferation control within the CNS.
Antigens shared by the immune and central nervous systems (CNS) have been described repeatedly. The present study reports the expression of the CD6 lymphocyte differentiation antigen in normal human brain evidenced by immunohistochemistry and Northern blot analysis. A panel of various anti-CD6 monoclonal antibodies (mabs) tested on serial cryostat sections identified CD6-positive cells randomly scattered in parenchyma of all examined brain areas. Northern blot analysis with a highly sensitive cRNA probe revealed a 3.1 kb CD6-specific mRNA in various brain regions, especially in basalganglia and cortex cerebellum. Staining with mabs raised against different hematopoietic cell types, as well as hybridization with probes specific for the ß- and y-T cell receptor (TCR) chains support the notion that CD6 is expressed by original brain cells. The nature of the CD6-positive cell type and possible functions of shared antigens in immune and nervous systems are discussed
