The specific versus, versus 12, where it says Jesus saw her, He called her over and healed her. It reminds me that no matter what we may be experiencing, how alone we may feel or how insecure we might be, Jesus sees us. He sees us just as we are, right where we are. Not only does He see us, but He has the power to heal us. All we have to do is come to Him. I want to encourage you that Jesus, Our Lord and Savior sees you. Rod Argent is the superb keyboard player in The Zombies, one of the greatest bands of the British Invasion era of the 1960s. We wonder why RTI doesn't really take place in schools. Maybe it's because people would rather discredit the system rather than commit to actual school improvement? How do we assess in the context of a system that uses RTI by name only? What are the discussions around how to diagnose learning disabilities?

Storfavoriterna Agnetha Fältskog och Victor Leksell lämnar lite överraskande listan med ”Where Do We Go From Here” respektive ”Natten Blir Till Dag” efter blott två listveckor.
When the weight is gone”.
GAYC/DC, yeah, the band name says it all. As a collaborative band of a bunch of friends who are gay musicians that LOVE heavy metal doing AC/DC covers, somehow this had to happen. If only for the fact that the LGBTQ community needs more Punk and Metal in their diet. GayC/DC are exactly that. As the drummer Brian Welch explained it "We wanted to take the most "hetero-normal " band and turn it on it's head". It wasn't really that difficult honestly, for some songs they would just change a single letter from "R" to "C" in "Let there be ROCK". You can see where this is going. I have interviewed 3 of them in other bands over the years, and it is always great to talk to them, not just for the jokes, but for their history in music, these guys are pros and have the stories to back it up. This is a labor of tasteless rude and offensive love (and lust I suppose). They will have you laughing, and then tell you something thoughtful in the same moment. They just collaborated with music production Tim Eaton ( En Vogue. Allman Brothers) to do a cover of Argent's song "Hold Your Head Up" a queer rallying anthem against bullying. The video tells the story, and these guys just happened to be the voice for it. (link below). If you want loud, rocking, tasteless, rude and offensive, look no further than GayC/DC, these guys deliver in ways that hair metal bands can't even imagine. They actually started a cult following by attending an AC/DC concert wearing their own band T-shirts. I wore their T-shirt to UTAH PRIDE, and consider it an honor to know these guys. The Zombies were part of the “British invasion” movement of the 1960s and enjoyed some major success for a short period before they broke up after only a few years. But the band's acclaimed 1968 album Odessey and Oracle is considered to be one of the greatest albums ever recorded and hits like “She's Not There,” Tell Her No,” and “Time of the Season” remain all time classics. Rod formed a new band called Argent, which hit big in 1972 with “Hold Your Head Up.” Colin released three solo albums, co-produced by Rod, in the early 1970s. Around 2000, Colin and Rod resurrected The Zombies, ultimately reuniting with the remaining original band members. Their sixth studio album, 2015's Still Got That Hunger, revived public interest in the band and even led to Odessey and Oracle re-entering the Billboard 100 – nearly 50 years after the album's release. In 2017, The Zombies went on an Odessey and Oracle tour, performing for a multi-generational fanbase, and in 2019, they were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Rod Argent started out in the Zombies, for which he wrote the classics "She's Not There," "Tell Her No" and "Time of the Season." After the band broke up Argent formed a group under his own name and with Chris White composed their Top Five hit "Hold Your Head Up." Then with partner Peter Van Hooke he produced Tanita Tikaram's multi-platinum album "Ancient Heart" with its MTV staple "Twist in My Sobriety." And now he's in the Zombies once again! Not only does Rod tell the stories of the acts and the hits, he details what it was like growing up in the U.K. in the days of shortages, when the world was still in black and white. Argent is an amazing raconteur, you'll love hearing his stories! Learn more about your ad-choices at https://www.iheartpodcastnetwork.com

Bipsy Bop Hold Your Head Up High by Takisha Payne The Read with Carylee Show brings the love of literature to children and gives a peek behind the scenes by evoking the joy of reading, helping children interact with authors, and displaying the hidden talent of these authors who may be living in your community. In this episode, we are going to read “Bipsy Bop Hold Your Head Up High” by Takisha Payne. ✅ ABOUT THE STORY: The spunky 10-year-old Bitsy Bop returns to tell her story as she pursues her love for hip hop and embarks on a new journey! She enters a reality television contest, Kids on the Groove, and gives her all with winning as her ultimate mission! "The performance starts, she hips and she pops, but she seems a bit off beat, her body is tired from all the practice required, but she can't accept defeat." Unfortunately, Bitsy Bop did not win, but she went home learning the most important lesson in her life. The author, Takisha Payne, who is a mother to 3 children, hopes to pass the message through this book: "Whatever your dreams, stick with it. You're not always going to win. But even if you fail, there's always tomorrow, and you can try again". ✅ ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Takisha Payne is a writer, host and motivational speaker. Her first book “Bipsy Bop Wants To Hippity Hop” was published in January 2013 that tells the story of Bipsy Bop, a child understanding and using her God-given talents. Although her mother is skeptical, she never loses focus and, along with encouraging words from her father, she excels with her hip hop dancing skills. The follow-up book “Bipsy Bop Hold Your Head Up High” was released in May 2020. It follows the story of the spunky main character as she turns ten and tests her dancing skills in a whole new level as she joins a competition by a major television franchise. Underground Music, Hip-Hop/Rap/MCing, Breakcore, EDM and Metal Disc Jockey with either a much greater emphasis on linguistic inventiveness than mainstream forms or a greater emphasis on the use of extreme profanity and disturbing criminal themes. Starring: Scorpion Frequency, Electric Breathing, Brom:35, NoizeFloor, Dead Beat Project, The Rappists, DJ 2def, Mr.Stabby, Mr. Morder, Jay Omerta, King Keemo, Mr.Siso, The Harmony Society, Kinky Bitch, Dynamic, Frankz Wit A Z, Mista Mead, H3vy Stu, Vicious 5150, RcThaHazard, J-ClaWsin, Lilo Frank, EffeSei, Christyle, DisaJohnny, Scar, Onnis, Marco Tosh, Labo & Yu-Sei. The difference between a pop/top-40/requests DJ and an underground DJ is not that one plays better music than the other or that one is a sellout, or that one is a “musical masturbator”. The difference is in the crowd that they are intended for: searchers vs. discoverers. The “underground” “club” DJ is the kind that wants to educate his crowd… yet another term I’ll use with hesitation. He wants to find a correlation between what he likes and what his crowd responds to, by way of introducing them to music they may not have otherwise heard. He wants to teach and encourage them to find something they didn’t know they needed. Whether it’s the thrashing riffs or either the sampling or the EDM-esque chorus in motion, there is not a second that doesn’t have a catchy sample and jingle part going on. The music is not without its flaws though, some songs are clearly better than others, Not that there is a bad song here. He puts absolutely everything new or remind the listener of past sounds but everything it does, it does well and even great at times. this might as well be the perfect soundtrack for all kind of music. If you're suspicious of this claim, then hijack the jukebox at your local bar or kindly offer to be the DJ at a Halloween party and getting rid of any stylistic barriers to integrated music. The outstanding drums, variety and overall harshness and brevity combining most of the harshest elements of metal with electronic genres, these record creates some outrageously chaotic freak outs from each of its eclectic formula.

(18:20) Aaron shares the back of his mask - past experiences, anxiety. He shares how he believes in focusing on a brighter future as opposed to dwelling on the past. And he reflects on how he tends to overthink in certain situations, which can be overwhelming. (20:03) Ashanti shares the back of his mask - fear of failure, childhood trauma, sadness about death. He shares with Aaron how he is overcoming his fear of sharing videos with his followers, how he is only just recently confronting his childhood traumas, and how his father's and grandmother's passing have affected him. (23:06) Aaron opens up about how he has had similar experiences with trauma and death. These experiences cause him to not share his past with many people he meets. He recalls the pain he has felt over not being able to speak with his mother one last time after his parents divorced, since she passed away soon after Aaron and his father left for California. (26:31) Aaron reflects on the mask-making experience, relates this experience to restorative justice circles, and shares how other men his age need to do this type of work more. --- Connect with Aaron Jackson: Instagram: instagram.com/aaron.jjr SF Chronicle Feature: projects.sfchronicle.com/class-of-2020/summer --- Create your own mask anonymously at www.100kmasks.com If you are interested in being on the Face to Face podcast, email us at everforwardclub@gmail.com --- Connect with Ashanti Branch: Instagram: instagram.com/branchspeaks Facebook: facebook.com/BranchSpeaks Twitter: twitter.com/BranchSpeaks LinkedIn: linkedin.com/in/ashantibranch Email: branchspeaks@gmail.com --- Send in a voice message: anchor.fm/branch-speaks/message --- Connect with Ever Forward Club: Instagram: instagram.com/everforward Facebook: facebook.com/everforwardclub Twitter: twitter.com/everforwardclub LinkedIn: linkedin.com/company/the-ever-forward-club

** A THIRD STUNNING COLLECTION OF NEW RECORDINGS FROM HALL OF FAME INDUCTEE **This year (2019) The Zombies were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in a British invasion alongside Radiohead and The Cure. On stage with the rest of the band was Chris White; the man who co-produced and wrote more than half of the seminal Odessey & Oracle album, who composed (the now standard) This Will Be Our Year and who penned and co-produced the worldwide hit Hold Your Head Up for Argent. His acceptance speech from the night, widely quoted in Rolling Stone, beautifully summarised the golden age of recording: “Music and songs are the bookmarks in all our lives, it’s the language that binds us all together”. The Chris White Experience is an incredible collection of unreleased recordings from the last 50 years. After The Zombies, Chris White produced records for a number of diverse artists (Colin Blunstone, Argent, Marti Caine, Doris Troy, Matthew Fisher, Duffy Power, and others) with more sessions (Diana Dors, Dire Straits, Charlie Dore) filled with unreleased material. The popularity of his songwriting has been celebrated by various artists (Beck, Paul Weller, Tom Petty, The Foo Fighters) recorded in a number of languages, and reached number one worldwide (Japan, Europe, and America). This collection of demos, co-writes, and unreleased gems is the third in an acclaimed series detailing his work as a songwriter and producer between 1969-2019.Most of these songs have never been heard, with Volume Three spanning half a century from an unreleased 1969 Zombies demo, right up to an October 2019 recording from Et Tu Brucé. With collaborations featuring Rod Argent and Colin Blunstone (Unhappy Girl) and London band Et Tu Brucé (Can’t Seem To Fall In Love) as well as performances from Joe Lee Wilson (Archie Shepp) Russ Ballard (Argent) Stuart Elliott (Cockney Rebel, Kate Bush) and many more. Following on from the much-celebrated Volumes One and Two, it is a brilliant and vital document in the history of British music and analogue recording. The Chris White Experience - Volume Three features 13 tracks to showcase more of his considerable songwriting catalogue, with so much beyond to discover. There are three further albums to be released in 2020. Rod Argent is the founding member, keyboardist, and driving force behind the legendary 1960s British Invasion band, The Zombies. Argent wrote the band’s best known classics, including the Top 10 single “Tell Her No” and the #1 hit “She’s Not There,” which Rolling Stone ranked at #297 on the list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time. By the time The Zombies’ 1968 LP Odessey and Oracle was released, the group had disbanded. “Time of the Season” became a surprise hit from the album, however, reaching the Top 5 on the US charts. Over time, Odessey and Oracle has become a cult classic, and was ranked in the Top 100 Greatest Albums of All Time in both Rolling Stone and Mojo magazines. Rod went on to form the band Argent, scoring a Top 5 hit in 1972 with “Hold Your Head Up,” which he co-wrote with former Zombies bandmate Chris White. Additionally, the group recorded the original version of “God Gave Rock and Roll to You,” which was subsequently covered by KISS. After the demise of Argent, Rod threw himself into session work, playing piano on the Who’s classic single “Who Are You,” and working extensively with Andrew Lloyd Weber. He released a handful of solo projects, produced successful albums for artists such as Nanci Griffith and Joshua Kadison, and toured as a member of Ringo Starr’s All Star Band before re-forming the Zombies with original lead singer Colin Blunstone in the mid-2000s. His songs have been recorded by The Ventures, Dusty Springfield, Vanilla Fudge, The Mindbenders, Del Shannon, Santana, Steppenwolf, Uriah Heep, Juice Newton, Eric Clapton, Dave Matthews Band, Susanna Hoffs, Tom Petty, America, Mother Love Bone, Ronnie Spector, and others. The original lineup of The Zombies - Rod, lead singer Colin Blunstone, bassist Chris White, and drummer Hugh Grundy - have just released a career retrospective coffee table book called The Odessey. They’ll launch a tour this month in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the recording of Odessey and Oracle and will perform the full album in its entirety.
A daily devotional through the recorded words Jesus spoke while He walked alongside us. Our website http://alittlewalkwithgod.com. * In Luke 21:20-28, Jesus said, "Here's how you will know that the destruction of Jerusalem and her temple is imminent: Jerusalem will be surrounded by armies. When that happens, there's only one thing to do: if you're in Judea, flee to the mountains; and if you're inside the city, escape; and if you're outside the city, stay there—don't enter— because the time has come for the promised judgment to fall. How sad it will be for all the pregnant women, for all the nursing mothers in those days! All the land of Israel and all her people will feel the distress, the anger, falling on them like rain. The sword will cut some down, the outsider nations will take others captive, and this holy city, this Jerusalem, will be trampled upon by the outsiders until their times are fulfilled. * There will be earth-shattering events—the heavens themselves will seem to be shaken with signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars. And across the earth the outsider nations will feel powerless and terrified in the face of a roaring flood of fear and foreboding, crashing like tidal waves upon them. “What's happening to the world?” people will wonder. The cosmic order will be destabilized. And then, at that point, they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and blazing glory. So when the troubles begin, don't be afraid. Look up—raise your head high, because the truth is that your liberation is fast approaching. * Devotional * Jesus could see what would happen to Jerusalem forty years away. * Roman siege * destruction of temple * killing of innocents * Jerusalem destroyed * Gives warning to His disciples to avoid the city to save their lives * Gives warning about the end of times, too * Son of Man returning in a cloud with power and blazing glory * heavens shaken * signs in celestial bodies * overwhelming sense of fear and foreboding * Signs point to the end of time * Liberation is coming fast * Don't be afraid * Hold heads high * Victory is near * Look around * signs are everywhere * fear and foreboding seem to cloud the thinking of the whole world * Syria * ISIS * terrorists * US election * Son of Man's return is on the horizon * Hold your head up, don't be afraid, He's coming soon

Life is full of trials and problems, and we may long to know how to get out of a situation that doggedly drags on and on with no end in sight. It is a spiritual battle, and we may sometimes fail to recognize it. Nevertheless, we must learn to walk by faith, and not by sight when faced with too-much-ness. God knows when we are faced with too-much-ness but he is there with us in the midst of frustration, anxiety, and discouragement. Hold your head up your salvation draws near.

Wes Bertrand and I continue our series based on Nathaniel Branden's book, Six Pillars of Self-Esteem. Today's show includes a discussion based on the fourth pillar, the Practice of Self-Assertiveness. LIVING CONSCIOUSLY and asking in every applicable situation: Am I being authentic or not? Assertion of consciousness, see, think, be aware, outward and inward -ask questions -challenge authority -think for oneself SELF-ASSERTIVENESS isn't tested by what we are against, but by what we are for COMMITMENT: to my right to exist CONVICTION: my ideas and wants are important CONCLUSION: no one is coming, we are all responsible for our own existences all relate to COURAGE: When we were young: we were taught that what we think and want are not important and we're often left with an underdeveloped sense of identity and unnecessary "what if" worries... -if I express myself -if I love and affirm myself -if I am too happy with myself -if I stand out -how to balance this with most people's lack of appropriate self-assertiveness -living as spectators instead of actors or participants standing and moving "as if they have no right to the space they occupy" WHAT DOES SELF-ASSERTIVENESS look like? -confront challenges -strive for mastery in self and what we pursue -expand the boundaries of our ability to cope -learn, challenge, venture into unfamilair spaces -persevering through challenges -be in an intimate relationship without abandoning our sense of self -kind without self sacrifice -cooperation without betraying standards and convictions -how many great minds and great ideas were suppressed throughout history? simply because they had nowhere to go -authenticity -author -authority ALL derived from: auctor "master, leader, author" Who is the author of your story? THE SIX PILLARS OF SELF-ESTEEM 1. The Practice of Living Consciously 2. The Practice of Self-Acceptance 3. The Practice of Self-Responsibility 4. The Practice of Self-Assertiveness 5. The Practice of Living Purposefully 6. The Practice of Personal Integrity Questions to answer in this series: what is self-esteem? why is it important? what can we do to raise self-esteem? what role do others play in our self-esteem?
