WELCOME to Zoe Vs. China - four of my favorite episodes from my journey's out east. Now this has everything - tears - horror - love - struggle -heart - political unrest - regular peoples hopes and dreams to try to maintain a life in a place that is changing by the fucking second. First things first: China is insane. Hong Kong is literally like being inside of Tron. I have never in my life seen so much wealth, or been so unhappy with the cost of literally everything. It's an amazing city, but its very difficult to live there. Some of the highest rents on the planet for the tiniest apartments, 29 dollars for a salad, you need to be a member of the Saudi Royal Family to buy gas, laundry detergent costs about one once of gold. However, it is a little fantastic shining metropolis inside of the big belly of the beast that is the People's Republic of China. Millions and of people are everywhere. Everyone is in designer clothes, everyone has pockets full of cash and suitcases they are stuffing to the literal brim with medicine, diapers, baby formula, potions, lotions and gems. It's nuts. The whole place is a giant shopping mall. It's very odd, and made me very uncomfortable. Now, real China makes me nervous. For someone who has a large and increasingly loud mouth, this is a nightmare place to be. There are cameras everywhere, the Government is tracking you constantly and you can almost feel them creeping into this tiny little European enclave. Whenever I left Hong Kong and went into "real" China, I was almost certain I would be arrested just for being me. When Britain gave back Hong Kong to China in 1997, it signed an agreement saying that the freedoms it had enjoyed as a Colony would stay in place for 50 years, but little by little, China is violating these agreements and stripping people away of their rights. One night, after drinking far to many glasses of wine I called an Uber to take me home and my driver was so fabulously witty, so elegant and had such good dirty jokes that I decided I needed to sit down with him and ask him question after question about what was life for someone growing up in this magical place and the real dangers that are facing Hong Kongs future as the rules and regulations of the Mainland close in. There's no such thing as a former KGB man, writes Mark Hollingsworth. Is the FSB an intelligence agency gone out of control, accountable to no one but itself and intent on subverting Western political institutions? The scale of Russian disinformation warfare and Active Measures is huge even when compared to their activities at the height of the Cold War. In 1985, 1,300 KGB officers were stationed in the USA. The FBI only had 350 counter-intelligence officers. Since the early days of the Cold War, the KGB seduced parliamentarians and diplomats, infiltrated the highest echelons of the Civil Service, and planted fake news in papers across the world. More disturbingly, it never stopped. ~~~~~ Mark Hollingsworth is an investigative journalist and author of 10 books, notably ‘Londongrad – From Russia with Cash, the Inside Story of the Oligarchs' – published in 2010. He has also written biographies of Mark Thatcher and Tim Bell and acclaimed studies on MI5 and the Saudi Royal Family. He started his career working for Granada TV's award-winning ‘World in Action' programme and now contributes regularly to ‘The Times', ‘Mail on Sunday', ‘The Guardian' and ‘The Sunday Times'. In the 2000s, London became home to the Russian super-rich. Vast wealth was stripped from Russia by the Oligarchs, and flaunted in London through grandiose properties, ferocious legal disputes, private jets, mega-yachts, and ubiquitous bodyguards. Russian oligarchs made colossal fortunes after the collapse of communism, and London was the destination of choice to spend and protect their wealth. But the shocking killing of ex-KGB man Alexander Litvinenko in London with a radio-active element Polonium, and of Stephen Curtis, the lawyer to many of Britain's richest Russians, sent shockwaves through the Russian community in London. Today I'm speaking with Mark Hollingsworth about how Russia's wealth was harvested and brought to London, and how the UK's institutions and legal infrastructure facilitated the laundering of these vast fortunes, many of dubious provenance. The Netflix documentary series “Full Swing” takes a look at the struggles players go through to end up in the money on the PGA tour, and a new alternative format where everyone gets paid regardless of performance. There was a time when golfers just played golf to prepare to compete at golf. That time has passed. Now, most players are in great shape and are always looking for an edge. That edge is important because it's difficult to make big money…and keep making it…for most players on the PGA Tour. The LIV Tour, launched by the official wealth fund of Saudi Arabia, has offered a different competitive field and compensation structure for the players who are invited and decide to join. They, however, face questions about whether they will be blackballed from future PGA events, and face moral dilemmas arising from the problematic, and sometimes horrifying, actions of the Saudi Royal Family. The life and exploits of Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud, aka MBS.Mohammed bin Salman is the uncrowned king of Saudi Arabia, ruling the Kingdom with an iron fist. He took power by force and coercion from Muhammad bin Nayef and he consolidated that power by kidnapping, detaining and torturing members of the Saudi Royal Family and prominent businessmen like Prince Alwaleed bin Talal in the Ritz Carlton hotel in Riyadh, he even kidnapped the Lebanese prime minister Saad Hariri and imprisoned his own mother. He also ordered the murder and dismemberment of Jamal Khashoggi in the Saudi consulate in Istanbul in 2017. If you enjoy our content, please become a patron to get our premium exclusive episodes, and our public episodes ad-free. 1 MBS also has an army of flies, tiger squads, gold cars and a lavish lifestyle, he owns the world's most expensive home, the Serene $500M yacht and Leonardo Da Vinci's Salvator Mundi, but the painting he paid $450M for proved to be a fake. MBS has a very dual personality: he's modern but also medieval at the same time. The Saudi state essentially treats women as permanent legal minors. But MBS is also implementing Vision 2030 to modernize Saudi Arabia, he allowed women to drive, he brought back cinemas, he reduced the power of the religious police and clerics, he wants green energy cities, and to move away from dependency on oil. 2 In the context of president Biden's upcoming visit to Saudi Arabia and meeting with King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and MBS, “the reset”, with a gallon of oil priced $5, we think it's important to also highlight the relations between US and Saudi Arabia and other countries in the region like Qatar, Yemen, Syria, , Bahrain, Lebanon (United Arab Emirates), as well as the Iran – Saudi Arabia proxy conflict, known as the Middle Eastern Cold War. Saudi Arabia has a young population, 60% of Saudis are under 30 and use Twitter, Snapchat and Instagram. MBS' army of flies – bots and hackers - created by Saud Al Qahtani ensures that no critical posts happen, and his tiger squads – hitmen – target those who dissent like Saad Al Jabri. Women can now drive but Saudi Arabia still imprisons activists like Loujain al Hathloul. Some of the laws governing sex segregation have been relaxed, but Saudi Arabia's guardianship system ensures that men still have ultimate control over most aspects of women's lives. We also discuss the beheadings in Chop Chop Square (Deera or Al-Safaa Square), the executions of those who oppose the regime, the arrest of Ali Nimr during the Arab Spring, the lashing of blogger Raif Badawi, MBS' war in Yemen, and we draw a parallel between Mohammed Bin Salman and Putin. We also discuss the connection between the Wahhabi-Salafi Islam ideology in Saudi Arabia and Daesh (Isis), Al Qaida, and other terrorist groups: the ideology is so similar that the manuals used by Saudi kids in school are the same books used in terrorist indoctrination schools in the caliphate areas. The Trump visit in Saudi Arabia and the glowing orb in the now infamous photo depicting King Salman, Trump and Egypt's president Abdel Fattah al Sisi touching the orb is also a point of discussion. 3 1. On today's show we are talking about the world reserve currency. The USD became the world reserve currency in the wake of the Second World War with the international treaty signed in the mountains of New Hampshire called the Bretton Woods accord. This three week conference had 730 delegates from the 44 allied nations in 1944. It established the rules for international movement of money. At the time, the US had by far the largest gold reserves of any other nation, and it made sense that the US dollar was the most trusted of all the currencies in the world. By 1971, the US was printing more money than they had gold to back the currency. Richard Nixon went on national TV to announce that he was temporarily suspending the gold backing of the USD to protect the economic stability of the world financial system. The response to this move was the OPEC oil embargo where the OPEC member nations decided that they didn't want to be paid in Monopoly money and they were accustomed to being paid in gold. Eventually, Henry Kissinger struck a deal with Saudi Arabia that if OPEC agreed to trade exclusively in USD, then the US would forever protect the political, military and personal safety of the Saudi Royal Family. That agreement meant that the USD position as the world reserve currency would be secured for at least another 50 years. It meant that if Italy buys oil from Nigeria, that transaction would be in USD, even if the US was not party to the transaction. In order for a currency to be accepted as a reserve currency, it has to be globally accepted by almost all of the world's major players. Fast forward to the year 2022. Russia has invaded the Ukraine. Russia is now the subject of economic sanctions and the nation has been cut off from the world financial system. But clearly Russia will continue to ship oil, natural gas and wheat and other commodities around the world to whom ever will buy it. But now, it's pretty clear that those transactions will probably not be denominated in USD. Which countries are going to be the most likely purchasers of Russian oil? Yes, that oil will probably sell at a discount to the rest of the market. But someone will eventually buy that oil. We can expect China, India, Pakistan, and a number of African countries will be buyers. Hang on a second. When you put Russia, India, China, Pakistan together, trading in oil, outside the USD, you have nearly half the world population now buying oil using something other than USD. At that point, the USD will have lost its standing as the world reserve currency. ----------------- Host: Victor Menasce email: podcast@victorjm.com

This week I am joined by my good friend Rob Wilkinson.  Rob Wilkinson is an award-winning co-founder of FCA approved property funding platform, Crowd with Us. He heads up a specialist team that provides investors with a variety of debt and equity-based property development investments. Along with his team, Rob is responsible for creating and administering CWU’s Institutional grade due diligence. He oversees all operational and business activities to ensure continued growth and consistency with the overall strategy and vision of the business. Rob is also responsible for building long-term relationships with key partners and stakeholders. Through careful monitoring of market conditions, he maintains a deep knowledge of both the property and finance industries. Rob is a qualified Master Mariner, having worked on some of the world’s largest and most prestigious privately-owned yachts. In this role, he was responsible for managing the assets and relationships of Global Leaders and Captains of Industry, including a senior member of the Saudi Royal Family and former world's richest man with a net worth of over $60bn USD. In this role, he met and dealt with well-known world leaders such as Donald Trump, Tony Blair and Barack Obama to name a few.    Here is Rob’s chapter from the book. If you feel inspired and want to read more then buy the book “Advice To Your Younger Self” on amazon and support our great causes.   ROB WILKINSON BOOK CHAPTER   I’m a Master Mariner (Ships Captain) by trade, having been awarded a scholarship to study as a Navigational Officer Cadet at the age of 16.  Prior to my first trip to sea at this young age, knowing that I’d be surrounded by, and leading men much older and experienced than myself, my father gave me two pieces of advice that I’ve never forgotten. “Don’t ask others to do what you wouldn’t be willing to do yourself” and “Speak to others how you’d wish to be spoken to”.  These two principles came to serve me well as I progressed through the ranks of life at sea.  Up until around my 25th birthday I’d always been the youngest person on any ship I sailed on and had been leading teams on a daily basis for most of my career, up to that point. I’ve always asked myself the question: ‘Would I do this?’ before asking something of someone else. In many cases, especially in new environments, where it’s important to gain the trust and respect of those you’re working with, or where the personal safety of others comes into play, I’ll often carry out the task alongside my team to demonstrate my ability and the fact that I’ll happily do anything I ask of others. The above said, you can’t expect to know everything, so it’s also incredibly important to always show humility.  There may be instances where you have no choice but to ask someone to do something you wouldn't do yourself, for the simple reason that you don’t know how to do it.  In these situations, I’m always honest with those I work with, explaining that they are the experts, that I don't know how it should be done and that I need to learn from them.  This is a much better position to take as opposed to claiming to know something you don’t, as those that do know will easily identify you as a fraud and any respect or trust you’ve built up will quickly erode.    My father's second piece of advice goes without saying really, but is easy to forget, especially when we find ourselves in positions of power. This could be anything from being promoted to the Captain of a sports team to running a deck full of grown men. By speaking to people how you’d want to be spoken to yourself, rather than at them, you’ll get a much better reaction. This is where effective communication comes into play. Mastering the skill of interpersonal engagement is fundamental to our personal and social development. It sets rules, boundaries and steps to attain desirable results and success. The ability to communicate accurately with others is a vital life skill that should never be overlooked and is, in my opinion, the number one tool for a successful life, whether that be in personal relationships or business. Think of the most successful people you know, and I guarantee they’ll all be amazing communicators.    Whatever it is, the answer is YES!  We grow as people through experiences, however we’re not always ready for what life throws at us and there’s nothing more uncomfortable than being out of your comfort zone.  As such, the natural reaction is for us to wait until it feels right!  This is often a long way off in the future. The strange thing is, the best place to grow and flourish as humans is when we’re in this place of discomfort and unease. As the saying goes: ‘pressure turns coal into diamonds!’.  I’ve always made it my goal to jump at every opportunity that presents itself to me.  However, there have been times where I was so uncomfortable that I’ve made excuses or procrastinated so much, I’ve lost the chance. Whilst I may have experienced immediate relief, once this subsided it became replaced with regret.  As such I’d suggest you say ‘YES’ to any opportunity for growth and run with it!  If you don’t know how to do something, or even how you’d find out how to do something, say yes anyway and figure it out as you go along! The mind is amazing at solving problems and I guarantee you’ll figure it out! That said, don’t take shortcuts, as they rarely pay off. One of my mantras is ‘don't do something because it’s easy, do it because it’s right!”.  Whilst I’m all for carrying out tasks in the most efficient manner, shortcuts are rarely shortcuts and inevitably result in you having to do something twice, so I’d always suggest doing it right the first time around.    Failure = Feedback What’s the worst that can happen?  We’re often so concerned with failure that it clouds the bigger picture - So what if we fail?  ‘What will our friends or family think?’.  Who cares!  I believe the only failure is in giving up. If you don't succeed the first-time round, take a step back and analyse what you did, what went wrong and why? What could you have improved upon? Work on getting better then try again! If you’ve failed an exam for example, re-book it the same day you find out you didn’t pass. Whilst it’s OK to be disappointed, don’t dwell on the result, focus on doing it better the next time around and I guarantee you, your friends and family will be just as excited when you do get the result, whether it’s your first try or your third! Approach failure with excitement and positivity. How thrilling, inspiring and stimulating it is to get a chance to do something again. The more you fail, the better success feels after all.    The importance of Mentors Always seek out mentors. Try to spend as much time with people who have achieved what you aspire to and less time with those who pull you back. You’re the average of the five people you spend the most time with.  Just think about it.  If you want to learn to drive, do you try to teach yourself, have someone else who can’t drive teach you, or do you employ the services of a qualified driving instructor? I’d probably go one step further and interview several driving instructors to find out from each how many of their students passed the first-time round in the last six-months and go with the one who had the highest success rate!  Whether you want to learn a new sport or want to rise to the top in your career, spend some time identifying the best person in that field/industry and become their friend. In many instances, those people haven't made it there alone, they’ll also have had mentors and will be very open to helping you. That said there are two important rules that follow this. Number 1 - listen more than you talk; and number 2 - if they set you a task, make sure you follow it through and report back.    In the same way that mentors are important, if you notice anyone in your life pulling you back and taking more from you than they give, start spending less time with them. Whilst if you’re lucky you’ll be surrounded by fans, those family and friends that support every success with you, you’ll find there’s another subset of family and friends that struggle with your progress and try to pull you back. The more successful you get, the more they’ll talk to you about the ‘unnecessary risks’ you’re taking and that ‘it’s all going to end in tears’ and how they’d do it much differently.  Whilst this is never easy to hear, it’s very common that your success pushes them way out of their comfort zone and results in them projecting their fears onto you. Don’t pay attention to what they’re saying.  I find it best to limit time with these people and generally over time they’ll adjust to your new level of being and will come back into your life.    Don’t work to live, live to work - The importance of goals! It’s so easy these days to get bogged down by work, to get caught in the rat race with your only focus being on making money and living from one month to the next. Money is important, but don't lose sight of the bigger picture! We’re only here once so let’s ensure we have the best time possible! Set goals and work towards achieving them. Work out what you want out of life and ensure your life revolves around making them a reality. It doesn't matter how crazy or ‘out there’ your goals seem, write them down anyway. Bigger goals are much less daunting when chunked down into more manageable bitesize pieces. If you want to learn a new language or play a new musical instrument, you may ask yourself how on earth that could be possible.  However, spend 20 mins a day for 3 months practicing, and you’ll look at this once impossible task from an entirely different perspective.    Look at your goals every day and review them regularly. Are you progressing towards them or moving away from them? Accountability is a massive factor in ensuring success and can be achieved in a number of ways. A friend with similar values who can question you and help you stay on track, or announcing your goal on social media, are two strong accountability tools I use. Have short, medium and long term goals and most importantly, when you achieve one, ensure you celebrate it!    Have goals beyond your comfort zone, because in order to do something you’ve never done, you’ve got to become someone you’ve never been.  Media links:   https://www.facebook.com/robbie.wilkinson | https://www.instagram.com/rob_wilkinson46/ | https://www.linkedin.com/in/rob-wilkinson-a3360523/   URLs: Business: www.crowdwithus.london | Personal: www.rrwilkinson.com Go Fund me charity link: gf.me/u/xcp3qy

That leads us into a discussion of his meeting with Saudi Crown Prince MBS and Peter Thiel. Then that leads us into the absolutely crazy story about Jeff Bezos’ dick pics, the National Enquirer, Saudi state propaganda in Wal-Mart, Thiel’s Palantir data analytics company. Billionaire #1: Fisk Johnson 1/10 on the David Koch Memorial Asset Liquidation Index Fisk Johnson is CEO of S.C. Johnson, the cleaning products company that makes Glade, Windex, Drano, Ziploc, Saran, Pledge, Method, and a bunch of other products you’ve probably used. Fisk Johnson is our first “1” on the D.K.M.A.L.I. That does not mean his assets should not be liquidated. It just means it’s somewhat less urgent to take his money than most others we’ve covered. For a cleaning products company that deals with a lot of chemicals, S.C. Johnson’s environmental record is sparkling. They also seem to have relatively sane labor practices. In truth, because it’s a privately held company, there’s a lot about them that we simply don’t know. Chad talks about the company’s “welfare capitalist” model and why any apparent positive outcomes of this model are not sustainable or replicable for most companies. Billionaire #2: Joseph Liemandt 5/10 on the David Koch Memorial Asset Liquidation Index Joseph Liemandt started Trilogy Software and ESW Capital, an investment company that buys software companies. While that might be incredibly boring, Liemandt makes up for it by being a party boy when he’s off the clock. Details are scant, but he was a subject of Emily Chang’s Brotopia, and according to her he “wrote the bro code” that created a hostile environment for women in Silicon Valley tech (link to article below). After creating a software company that mostly produced toxic masculinity, he went on to start a “Global Software Sweatshop” that employs a truly dystopian employee surveillance technology called WorkSmart, “a FitBit for how you work.” Liemandt: “How A Mysterious Tech Billionaire Created Two Fortunes—And A Global Software Sweatshop: https://www.forbes.com/sites/nathanvardi/2018/11/19/how-a-mysterious-tech-billionaire-created-two-fortunesand-a-global-software-sweatshop/#655dbd846cff National Enquirer and Saudi Royal Family: https://apnews.com/d293d282a9ec4d0c83fe0a25ff5f285c References on S.C. Saudi Arabia is one of the Middle East's most powerful countries, but its state, and the royal family that runs it, are a virtual black box. Answers to the complex questions of how Saudi works can be found in obsequiously long academic texts, but this knowledge has not yet been used by many analysts and journalists covering the region who still by and large view Saudi with an orientalist lens. This problem is confounded by the fact that most regional news outlets covering Saudi are funded either by Saudi itself or by rivals in the region. To understand this further, Al Bawaba spoke with Theodore Karasik, who breaks down how the Saudi royal family works internally and how it secures power throughout the country.

China is insane. Hong Kong is literally like being inside of Tron. I have never in my life seen so much wealth, or been so unhappy with the cost of literally everything. It’s an amazing city, but its very difficult to live there. Some of the highest rents on the planet for the tiniest apartments, 29 dollars for a salad, you need to be a member of the Saudi Royal Family to buy gas, laundry detergent costs about one once of gold. However, it is a little fantastic shining metropolis inside of the big belly of the beast that is the People’s Republic of China. When Britain gave back Hong Kong to China in 1997, it signed an agreement saying that the freedoms it had enjoyed as a Colony would stay in place for 50 years, but little by little, China is violating these agreements and stripping people away of their rights little by little. He holds black belt status in several styles of Karate, Aikido, Judo, Ju-jutsu as well as ranks in military unarmed combat and filipino martial arts. He has both boxed and kick-boxed professionally and competed in Judo competition internationally. As a bouncer in some very rough clubs, and a military police officer in the Legion, he learned first hand what martial art techniques worked and which ones didn't. That puts him in a unique position compared to a lot of instructors who are teaching what amounts to theory. Wanting to move up in the security world he decided to pursue a career in diplomatic security and quickly found out a background in Special Forces was going to be an asset. With that in mind he joined the French Foreign Legion as both a para-commando and military police officer. After leaving the Legion he worked for various agencies all over the world looking after clients such as members of the Saudi Royal Family, VIPs, businessmen and rock stars. During that time he began writing for Fighting Arts International about practical martial arts and teaching on various bodyguard training courses. Nick has appeared on Spike TV's "Deadliest Warrior" in the series penultimate episode about the French Foreign Legion versus the Gurkha. He popped up on Paladin Press' radar and filmed a series of instructional DVDs and began working on his 2nd book on self defense. There is a very real problem among commercialized schools, namely high priced, low quality, fast paced padded and unqualified instruction. Too many people fall prey to this system and our guest Nicholas Hughes has much to say on this and answers many questions about himself. Darrell Castle talks about purchases of French landmarks by the Saudi Royal Family, attacks on French women, and especially French Jews by Muslim immigrants. Transcription / Notes EUROPEAN CIVILIZATION  IS CIRCLING THE DRAIN Hello, this is Darrell Castle with today's Castle Report.  Today is Friday, January 12, 2018, and on today's Report, I will be talking about some recent events in Europe and the Middle East, and what these events say about the future of Europe, especially France.  From the title of this Report, you may be thinking, “he's given up on happiness and gone off the deep end again”, but before you jump to that conclusion, just hear me out. First of all, I have made a commitment to talk about Europe in these Reports as often as possible because European Civilization is Western Civilization, and that is our civilization, at least it once was.  Our story this week began in the New York Times Sunday Edition of December 17, 2017, when that paper carried a front page story about the new Crown Prince in Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman. You should remember him from the recent Report I did concerning his appointment by King Salman as his successor, as well as his efforts to reform Saudi society. It seems that the young Prince, age 32, has gone abroad looking for places to put his country's wealth and France is one of the lucky recipients.  There are many landmarks in France that represent French history and, as the tour guides will tell you, the landmarks also remind us of the glory of the age of kings.  The most prominent and famous, and a symbol of France itself, is the Palace of Versailles.  Louis XIV built Versailles as his permanent home during his 72 year reign, and now it is perhaps the structure that, except for the Eiffel Tower, is most representative of France and the French people. Next to Versailles once sat another château, also built by Louis XIV, on 57 manicured acres of gardens.  These Chateaus are more than just symbols or landmarks, they represent the history of a once great nation, and more importantly, they should be the property of the French people who built and paid for them with their labor and blood.  But nevertheless, in 2009, one Chateau was bulldozed and a new, high-tech Chateau Louis XIV was built in its place by Emad Khashoggi, nephew of the late billionaire arms dealer Adnan Khashoggi.  The new Chateau recently sold for $300 million to a mystery purchaser, but a little research by the New York Times revealed the purchaser to be the Crown Prince, Mohammed bin Salman. Does this mean that France has sold its soul?  Perhaps it means that France has sold its history, culture, and the nation itself as well as its soul.  France is no longer even a nation-state, and it has been reduced to just a place where people live.  No borders, and as the new prime minister, Emmanuel Macron, said, no culture.  France sells its national treasures to the highest bidder without regard to whom or what that bidder is.  There is no regard whatsoever of history, culture, tradition or religion.  None of those things exist anymore since they have been exchanged for a new multicultural, open society where everything goes because nothing matters. Ethics, the foundation of civilization, has been destroyed, or at least abandoned, almost everywhere but especially in France.  The new multicultural socialist state is fostered on the people, and they absorb it and embrace it because from early childhood they have been indoctrinated with the belief that all truth is just a matter of opinion and absolute truth does not exist.  Right and wrong then are just matters of opinion, and opinions can change from day-to-day.  Government is free and encouraged to do whatever appears necessary, without exception or limit. Government is given all power and control over everything, and is therefore responsible for everything.  If your child is failing in the government's school system, it is obviously the government's fault and responsib...

Soon after the September 11th attacks, the US government actively tried to minimize and oppress information relating to a possible role in the attacks by Saudi Arabia. Ultimately, the 9-11 Commission cleared Saudi Arabia of any role in the terrorist attacks despite many anomalies including the fact that 15 of the 19 high jackers were actually from Saudi Arabia. In December 2002 Congress released its’ Joint Intelligence Committee Inquiry into the 9-11 terrorist attacks. When released, this document contained 28 pages of redacted information that allegedly pointed to foreign state-sponsorship of the attacks, specifically Saudi Arabia. The 9/11 Commission Report failed to ascertain the contents of the censored 28-pages of the report.Victims family members asked President Bush why he refused to release this information and got no answer.Years earlier, in August 2002, victim family members publically announced a $1 trillion lawsuit against alleged Saudi bank rollers of Osama Bin Laden. This lawsuit has been stalled and defeated at every turn. In November 2002, the lawsuit became even bigger and costlier at $15 trillion dollars as more than three-dozen new defendants were added, including members of the Saudi Royal Family.  Interestingly, three members of the Saudi royal family have since been given legal immunity from prosecution.  Attorneys for the victims' families told the Staten Island Advance in 2006, that it could be "another several years before the lawsuit goes to trial. "In July of 2003 9/11 Commissioner Max Cleland was interviewed by Frank Sesno of PBS. In that interview, he stated: "You can read between the lines and see that there were foreign governments that were much more involved in the 9/11 attack than just supporting Islamic fundamentalist teachings and schools. Now, that has been redacted. A whole 28 page section." The 2008 book “The Commission”, by New York Times reporter Philip Shennon revealed that 9/11 Commission Executive Director, Phillip Zelikow blocked other 9/11 commissioners who were working on the Saudi connections from accessing the 28-page redacted section. In August 2003, an anonymous official told New Republic magazine that the 28-page redacted section outlines “connections between the hijacking plot and the very top levels of the Saudi royal family.” In September of 2004, a month after the official close of the 9/11 Commission, Senator Bob Graham accused the White House of covering-up the involvement of Saudi government officials in the 9/11 plot. Despite attempts by family members to get this information made public and promises from the Obama administration to do so, the redacted 28 pages of the Joint Intelligence Committee Inquiry into 9-11 remain secret and are likely to remain so. In May of 2010, Supreme Court nominee Elena Kagan refused to give the victims' families’ lawsuit a hearing. Her argument was that US foreign policy would be interfered with if the lawsuit was allowed to go ahead. Secrecy continues to cloud the possible role of Saudi Arabia in the events of September 11th. Despite calls from members of Congress, victims family members, and even one of the 9-11 Commissioners to dig deeper into the role of Saudi Arabia, no such inquiry has yet to take place. Why would the US government and the 9-11 Commission protect Saudi Arabia?
