North Bay Resources Inc CEO Jared Lazerson talked with Proactive's Stephen Gunnion about the company's latest developments in its gold processing operations, highlighting strong recovery results and ongoing optimization efforts. Lazerson confirmed that North Bay has shipped 344 pounds of gold concentrate to its refinery partner, Just Refiners, as part of what he described as the second major test shipment. He noted, “We're still in the test shipment phase… but every penny counts,” estimating the value of the shipment at just under $10,000. The aim is to finalise proof-of-concept and prepare the mill for ramp-up. The company has transitioned its processing approach, making gravity separation the primary method over flotation. This shift followed encouraging metallurgical results in December, which showed a 97% recovery rate—approximately a two-thirds gravity to one-third flotation ratio. Lazerson reiterated the strength of these figures, saying, “Extraordinary recovery… gravity seems to be going really well.” To support optimization, North Bay has upgraded the ball mill with new grinding balls and improved the raker classifier. The flotation circuit is also under fine-tuning, with all reagents on hand and final conditioning steps being assessed. The company anticipates that improved flotation performance could lift overall recovery by more than 30%, adding additional revenue potential from future shipments. In today's Ag Net News Hour, Nick Papagni, “The Ag Meter,” and Lorrie Boyer started off talking about how the Bureau of Reclamation has increased water allocations for Central Valley Project contractors, with South of Delta irrigation, water service, and repayment contractors receiving an increase from 40% to 50%. However, concerns remain that this isn't sufficient to support farming needs, with frustration over water policy and environmental restrictions preventing farmers from receiving more. They also updated listeners on the California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) working to control Mediterranean fruit fly populations using the sterile insect technique, which involves releasing sterilized male flies to disrupt reproduction. This method has been used before, including in Los Angeles County in 2023. The presence of Mediterranean fruit flies in Alameda and Santa Clara counties poses a significant threat to specialty crop growers, with potential economic losses of up to $1.8 billion per year. CDFA has established quarantines and monitoring programs to address the issue. Another topic on the show today was the Port of Los Angeles is facing a significant drop in shipping volume due to tariffs on Chinese goods. Shipments from China, which account for 45% of the port's business, are expected to decrease by 35% starting next week. Major American retailers have halted shipments from China, and transport companies are exploring alternatives in Southeast Asia to fill ships. This situation is part of a broader trade strategy aimed at addressing imbalances with China. In today's Almond Board of California Almond Update segment, the almond industry is focusing on sustainability, stewardship, and nutrition to highlight its role in addressing climate goals and supporting local communities. Efforts include improving water efficiency, carbon capture, and promoting almonds as a nutritious protein alternative. Communication with legislators is key, as many are unfamiliar with farming challenges. Advocacy efforts, such as lobby days, aim to educate policymakers on the industry's contributions and regulatory impacts. Uncertainty around the 2025 almond crop due to weather and bloom challenges is being closely monitored, with potential impacts on supply and pricing. The almond industry continues to emphasize its importance in agriculture and the economy. Additionally, specialty crop growers are receiving support through the USDA's Marketing Assistance for Specialty Crops program, addressing challenges like rising costs, labor shortages, and trade disruptions. An alliance of agricultural organizations is pushing for a bipartisan farm bill to enhance competitiveness.

Helium 10 has rolled out several powerful new features this week, starting with the brand-new Tariff Analyzer tool in Profits. This feature gives sellers a detailed breakdown of how tariffs impact their net profits on a product-by-product basis. By inputting the country of origin and cost of goods sold (COGS), users can instantly see pre- and post-tariff profit margins, estimate the price adjustments needed to maintain margins, and even compare how switching manufacturing to another country, like Vietnam or Uzbekistan, might improve profitability. It's a game-changing tool for sellers looking to stay agile amid rising import costs. Another major upgrade is the expansion of Managed Refund Services, now available to both Platinum and Diamond users. Previously reserved for Diamond subscribers, this service helps Amazon sellers recover funds owed by Amazon due to lost, damaged, or mishandled inventory. Helium 10's team handles the tedious claims process, scanning accounts, filing cases, and staying compliant with Amazon's policies. Sellers only pay a small percentage of successfully recovered funds, making it a zero-risk way to reclaim potentially thousands in lost revenue. On top of that, Helium 10 has added support for Cerebro and Magnet in the Amazon Saudi Arabia marketplace, with built-in translation tools to help sellers understand foreign-language keywords and rank data, opening up new international expansion opportunities easily. Tune in for a wealth of knowledge and strategies to keep your Amazon business thriving.
