The city of Austin found itself in a predicament in late 1988. A horrific crime was committed against a young mother in broad daylight, in a well known establishment on a busy street. The unsolved crime would largely impact the city's reputation for having the lowest crime rate of all of Texas's great cities…so it was time to solve the murder of Nancy DePriest, let's see how they did it.Instagram: TruecrimecouplePatreon.com/truecrimecouple | Join for ad free episodes and two bonus episodes a month!Sponsors:True Crime Society PodcastSources:https://exonerationregistry.org/cases/10386https://law.justia.com/cases/texas/third-court-of-appeals/1991/4881.htmlhttps://www.newspapers.com/image/649638052/?match=1&terms=nancy%20depriesthttps://www.newspapers.com/image/364054228/?match=1&terms=nancy%20depriesthttps://www.newspapers.com/image/363966719/?match=1&terms=nancy%20depriesthttps://www.facebook.com/groups/742034912983989/posts/2019627575224710/https://www.texasmonthly.com/news-politics/hector-polanco-andre-causey-false-confessions/https://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/shows/burden/innocents/danziger.htmlhttps://www.themarshallproject.org/2017/03/09/facing-her-daughter-s-killer-at-lasthttps://www.justice.gov/archives/dag/file/877741/dl?inline=#:~:text=Forensic%20hair%20examiners%20generally%20recognize,Forensic%20Examination%20ofhttps://nij.ojp.gov/nij-hosted-online-training-courses/crime-scene-and-dna-basics-forensic-analysts/history-and-types-forensic-dna-testing/polymerase-chain-reaction-pcr/dq-alphahttps://www.kvue.com/article/news/crime/true-crime/austin-police-hector-polanco-yogurt-shop-murders/269-160c495f-9212-420c-ad47-edf02bea3d5ahttps://law.wisc.edu/fjr/clinicals/ip/https://innocenceproject.org/about/#:~:text=We've%20helped%20free%20more,and%20advance%20the%20innocence%20movement.https://www.latimes.com/archives/la-xpm-2006-jun-21-me-confess21-story.htmlhttps://www.findagrave.com/memorial/261908704/richard_edward-danziger

Donald Trump says God is proud of him. During a bizarre, softball-filled press appearance marking his first year back in office, Trump claimed divine approval for his presidency—offered without evidence or irony. We unpack the religious delusion, the collapse of press accountability, and what it means when a sitting president openly frames himself as God's chosen leader. Beyond Trump, we take on a parade of church–state absurdities: Florida prisons ban the Bhagavad Gita for being "written in code," Oklahoma sheriffs tout Christian jailhouse conversions until lawyers step in, and a Texas county installs a Ten Commandments monument to dare the courts to stop them. We also cover Catholic leaders warning that U.S. foreign policy has lost its moral compass, new Pew data showing Catholicism rapidly declining in Latin America, and a sharp debate over protesters disrupting a Minnesota church linked to an ICE official—forcing the question of where religious freedom ends and accountability begins.

Today's Headlines: Democrats and the White House cut a last-minute deal to stop a government shutdown, temporarily boosting ICE funding while they argue over whether the agency should at least identify itself. The deal keeps most of the government running through September. ICE says it's “drawing down” operations in Minnesota, but the damage is already done. Lawmakers visited a Texas detention facility where 5-year-old Liam Ramos is being held after being detained in Minnesota. His father says Liam is sick, withdrawn, and lethargic. New reporting shows just how much surveillance power ICE actually has, from facial recognition and license plate readers to phone location data, drones, and phone-hacking tools. On top of that, ICE is asking ad-tech and data brokers for access to location data.  TikTok users say anti-ICE videos are mysteriously failing to upload or disappearing after the platform's ownership change. TikTok says it's a glitch. Sure. Meanwhile, Trump's acting cybersecurity chief reportedly uploaded sensitive government documents to a public version of ChatGPT, which is now being investigated by DHS. States are getting ready for possible ICE activity. New Jersey's new governor announced plans for a public database where people can upload videos of ICE encounters, plus expanded “know your rights” efforts. In non-ICE related news, a major lawsuit over social media's impact on kids moves forward against Meta and YouTube after TikTok and Snap settled at the last second, there are reports that the Trump administration quietly met with Canadian separatists in Alberta, Tulsi Gabbard resurfaces in Georgia, and—because there's always a grift—Melania Trump already teasing a spinoff to her undersold documentary. But most of the program was a discussion of last night's dialogue with Dr. Yasir Qadhi at the mosque in Flower Mound, what we discussed, and, more importantly, how we approach the task of being a Christian witness to our Muslim friends and neighbors. Then I discussed the slanderous video produced by @onlythus on Instagram, and reposted by @AlexDuncanTX lying about Dr. Qadhi in a very obvious and surface level way, and how this is utterly in opposition to Christian calling and practice. Finally, at the end of the hour, I commented on Joel Webbon's lame response to Doug Wilson and his incessant use of the "victim card."

Kim and Kristen share how Apollo approaches training differently — including a four-week RBT onboarding program that exceeds certification requirements and a structured mentorship model for BCBAs. The results are notable, with 99% of Apollo's RBTs passing their exams on the first attempt! Even more impressive is that 84% of Apollo-trained BCBAs pass their exam on the first attempt too. Compared to the current average pass rate that hovers around 52-54%, that's simply amazing! We also dig into how Apollo defines and measures clinical excellence, including the use of norm-referenced assessments, family feedback, progress toward less restrictive environments, and ongoing data analysis to improve training and service delivery. This conversation is especially relevant for BCBAs, clinical leaders, and practice owners who are thinking seriously about how to scale services without sacrificing quality — and how to design systems that support clinicians, families, and long-term outcomes. Nine Finger Chronicles - Sportsmen's Nation

In this episode of the Nine Finger Chronicles, Dan Johnson and SEBH delve into the cultural nuances of the South, particularly in relation to hunting. They explore the definitions of the South, share personal hunting stories, and discuss the evolving attitudes towards hunting, moving from a focus on big bucks to a more experience-driven approach. The conversation also touches on urban hunting, hunting regulations, and the diverse hunting culture across the Southern states. SEBH shares insights about the Southeastern Bowhunter Podcast, emphasizing the importance of genuine storytelling in the hunting community.takeaways The South is defined differently by various people. Texas often sees itself as separate from the South. College football culture is intense in the South. Hunting experiences are becoming more valued than just big bucks. Urban hunting is surrounded by myths and realities. Baiting regulations vary significantly by state. The Southern hunting culture is diverse but shares common values. Deer camps are less prevalent in Georgia compared to other states. Georgia has a long archery season with generous tag allocations. Hunting in Georgia presents unique challenges, especially with deer behavior. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

The Power of a Spiritual Record by Autumn Dickson I've given this message before, and I'll probably give this message again someday. This message has been repeated so frequently throughout scripture so I figure it's not the end of the world if I repeat it too. It is something that has been taught by modern day prophets. It has changed my life profoundly. If someone were just beginning their family, what advice would you give them? What would you focus on? If you could give them advice that they were supposed to read over and over and over throughout their lives, what would you emphasize? If you were trying to teach a group of people how to build a society, which principles do you think would be some of the most valuable to learn? Over the past couple weeks, we have been reading about the beginning of one of God's projects. It includes the building of a world. It includes the building of God's family, and the building of a new society upon the earth. There was a father and mother and a whole lineage of people. I have so many questions about how some of these things came to pass. How did they build their society? How did it change? Did they even consider the idea that they were setting up the foundation of a society? I'm not sure. But out of every message that the Lord could have sent us, one of the messages that He gave us was this. Moses 6:5 And a book of remembrance was kept, in the which was recorded, in the language of Adam, for it was given unto as many as called upon God to write by the spirit of inspiration; A book of remembrance was kept. It was given unto as many as called upon God to write by the spirit of inspiration. Was this one of the pieces of advice you would have chosen to give to this new society you were directing? Because it was one of the pieces of advice that God thought was important. Do you call upon God? If you do, here is the bible teaching us that you've been called upon to write by the spirit of inspiration. Please stay with me for a moment if you don't feel like you're ready for this message. If you hate writing and reading, if it's not something that you particularly enjoy, stick with me. A book of remembrance doesn't have to look like what you're picturing. I almost feel bad sharing this message because writing is something that comes naturally to me. Even if I wouldn't classify myself as overly talented, I love writing. I've written regularly in a journal since I was 14 years old (and boy do I wish I could burn those journals). My journals were not always written according to inspiration. For a lot of my life, my journals were where I angrily wrote about my angel parents that I didn't appreciate, about boys, about friendships at a time in my life when I didn't know how to be a good friend. It wasn't until later that my journals became filled with true, uplifting purpose. Writing in a journal has blessed my life. I have gone back to read what I used to care about. I have been able to observe the growth I had and watch how the Lord guided my life, page by page. It's actually pretty fun. Not to mention, I record all the absolutely ridiculous things my children say and that is one of the best blessings of my life. But the commandment we find in this verse is not necessarily what you think. It's not about writing what you did every day or even every month; I love writing, and I think that would bore me to death. My life isn't exciting enough for that. We need to rethink what it means to keep a journal. When God gives a commandment, it's to draw us closer to Him so let's look at our book of remembrance through that lens. And as a matter of fact, let's look at another phrase from the verse that we read from Moses. Write by the spirit of inspiration. If that sounds intimidating, let me try and ease your worries. Let's look at what it means to receive inspiration. Inspiration is when God gives you thoughts and feelings to propel you in a specific direction. He gives it to you. When someone gives something to you, are you the one who is supposed to be stressing about how the gift makes its way into your lap? No! That's not your job. You just have to make yourself available to receive it. Hence the writing. Make yourself available and trust the Lord to give you what you need. He knows how to give. I have one practical piece of advice for starting your book of remembrance. It's just one piece of advice to start things out so that God could push you in the correct direction that will fit your personality and circumstances. Open a journal when you're praying, open a note on your phone, or open your computer to type. Just open it and make it available once a day for one week. When you're praying. That's my tip. You don't have to write your prayers like I do. I just do that because it helps me focus when the last seven years of my life have been interrupted approximately every three minutes. Don't do it before bed; I never write my prayers before bed because I'm not in the proper mindset to write by inspiration. I'm too tired. The Spirit can whisper through a lot of things but apparently not my exhaustion (or maybe I'm just bad at listening through my exhaustion?). It doesn't have to be a long prayer. It doesn't have to be an impressive prayer. Open it, and simply start talking. He may not say anything immediately because He usually only talks when He needs to. You may start to feel like you should pick up your pen. Trust the feeling and do it. Even if you don't know what you're going to write, just start and open yourself up and He will speak. It's remarkable. You will feel so close to God. Just as the verse taught, if you have called upon the name of God, you have been called to write by inspiration. He wants to talk to you too. I testify that God loves you and knows how to give you inspiration. I testify that it's not your job to figure out how to receive a gift; it's just your job to try and make yourself available to receive it. I testify that writing by the inspiration of God will change your life as it has changed mine. Autumn Dickson was born and raised in a small town in Texas. She served a mission in the Indianapolis Indiana mission. She studied elementary education but has found a particular passion in teaching the gospel. In this Feedback Friday field trip, I take you directly into the heart of Short Creek, known today as Hildale, Utah, and Colorado City, Arizona. It once was the historic stronghold of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, the FLDS. This is the community built around plural marriage, prophetic control, and absolute obedience, led for decades by self-proclaimed prophet Warren Jeffs, now serving life in a Texas prison for sexually assaulting young girls. As we drive through the streets of this once-sealed polygamist enclave, we stop at key locations that defined FLDS power: the massive compound built by Warren Jeffs' father Rulon Jeffs to house eighty-seven wives, the offices where obedience was enforced, and the meeting house where men were stripped of their families from the pulpit. You'll see where Jeffs escaped federal arrest, how the United Effort Plan centralized wealth and control, and how law enforcement was sidelined by church authority. We'll revisit the scars of history, including the infamous 1953 Short Creek Raid, the infant cemetery that still haunts investigators, and the burial grounds reserved only for the faithful. Along the way, we talk about secret police, hidden caves, the collapse of the FLDS corporate structure, and the uneasy reality that Warren Jeffs still exerts influence from behind prison walls. #Polygamy #PluralMarriage #FLDS #WarrenJeffs #RulonJeffs #ShortCreek #Hildale #ColoradoCity #ShortCreekRaid #1953Raid #FLDSCrimes #CultCrime #ReligiousAbuse #CoerciveControl #CriminalCults #TrueCrime #TrueCrimeCommunity #CultSurvivors #PolygamyAbuse #ChildAbuseAwareness #FLDSHistory #CrimeDocumentary #ProfilingEvil #JusticeForVictims #HumanTrafficking #ReligiousExtremism #CultAccountability ========================================https://gamutpodcasts.com/show/gardensofevilinsidethezionsocietycult/========================================20% OFF Newspapers.comhttps://www.newspapers.com/go/podcast/?ref=profilingevil?xid=8877&utm_source=ProfilingEvilPodcast&utm_medium=podcst&utm_campaign=ProfilingEvil26========================================FLDS StoryMap: https://arcg.is/0Gm4r1 ========================================Email your questions to: ProfilingEvil@gmail.com========================================

Co-Host William Schroeder (https://mountaintoppodcast.com/justmind) My first time guest William Schroeder is an expert on neurodivergence not only because he is a mental health therapist, but also because he has walked that path himself. What are the challenges facing men who are ADHD or have Asperger's...especially when it comes to relating to women? More importantly, how can you overcome those challenge and thrive? Well, the first question to ask is why the term "neurodivergence" has been in the media more often in the last few years. Next, it seems like everyone's attention span is shorter since COVID. How much of neurodivergence is nature vs. nurture? And what is the difference between ADD, ADHD and Asperger's, anyway? How transparent should we be about neurodivergence with other people, say, girlfriends or even bosses? How can ADHD men excel in relationships with women? On the other hand, what if neurodivergence seems to be wrecking my chances with women? How are people affected by changes in how ADHD and Asperger's are clinically defined? I mean, it's not really a death sentence to our masculinity and ability to attract women if we're neurodivergent, is it? And regarding the term "neurodivergence" itself, is it too broad a label? How many men go undiagnosed...and what if this podcast episode itself starts making us wonder about that? And here's the kicker...how do we identify women who are neurodivergent and manage relationships with them? Get in on VAMANOS and have answers for any situation with women right there on the spot: https://mountaintoppodcast.com/vamanos === HELP US SEND THE MESSAGE TO GREAT MEN EVERYWHERE === The show is now available as a VIDEO version on YouTube. This would be a huge improvement, but DHS won't comment.Main Show:Once again, this is all the Supreme Court's fault. Specifically, its rulings in J.G.G. v. Trump and Trump v. CASA led directly to the mayhem in Minnesota. First the Court forced immigrants challenging their detention to file thousands of individual habeas cases. And then they drastically limited the power of federal judges to issue relief when it “discovered” that nationwide injunctions are illegal. The Trump administration took this as an invitation to break the law, irrespective of how many courts tell them not to, on the theory that CASA means precedent doesn't count any more. DHS dummied up a memo saying that actually everyone without a green card must be held indefinitely. This is a gross misstatement of the law, as literally hundreds of courts have already ruled. But the Trump administration says because of CASA, they can continue to lock up people who've lived here for decades, checking in with DHS, working, paying taxes, and taking care of their families.Judges are deluged with habeas petitions, which differ from each other only in the particulars of the cruelty being visited upon the individual immigrant. After ICE failed to obey a court order to release a habeas petitioner, Chief Judge Patrick Schiltz in the District Court of Minnesota ordered Todd Lyons, the Acting Director of ICE, to either release the guy or show up and explain why he shouldn't be held in contempt of court. ICE released the petitioner, but Judge Schiltz was still furious. He published a list of 96 violations of court orders in January alone — and that's only in Minnesota! Thanks, Chief Justice Roberts! On the plus side, Judge Schiltz's colleague Judge John Tunheim issued a TRO ordering ICE to release every refugee detained under the erroneous memo and quit kidnapping them and spiriting them away to Texas. And for subscribers, we'll discuss the Ninth Circuit's ruling that bars Kristi Noem from unilaterally canceling temporary protected status for a million Venezuelans and Haitians.Hundreds of judges reject Trump's mandatory detention policy, with no end in sighthttps://www.politico.com/news/2026/01/05/trump-administration-immigrants-mandatory-detention-00709494Fulton County Election Hub Warranthttps://www.documentcloud.org/documents/26513986-1-28-26-fulton-warrant/Marimar Martinez Motion to Unsealhttps://storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.ilnd.487595/gov.uscourts.ilnd.487595.100.0.pdfExclusive: ICE officers in Minnesota directed not to interact with 'agitators' in new ordershttps://www.reuters.com/world/ice-officers-minnesota-directed-not-interact-with-agitators-new-orders-2026-01-29/J.G.G. v.
