It's been a while since we've heard from Ryan and Tanya Avery on the Rokcast. They join Robby talking about the season upon us, the arrival of Robby's long awaited Rokstock/Tikka/6UM rifle, and more random thoughts. Since this episode recorded, Robby's put about 30 rounds through the new Rokstock topped with a Swarovski Z5 2-10X https://www.swarovskioptik.com/us/en/hunting/products/rifle-scopes/z5-i-plus/z5-plus/z5-plus-2-10x42-bt Shooting the Sierra 115 grain DTAC NR in front of 64.5gr of N570, Robby chronographed the load from his 19-inch barrel at 3155fps (his 270 WSM was clocking a 140 grain Berger at 3249 from a 24-barrel for comparison.) The overall length of the new rifle is an inch shorter--including the Unknown Munitions Suppressor--compared to the 270 WSM. The Rokstock based rifle weighs in at 7lb 15oz, just two ounces more than the 270 WSM. Accuracy for two (3) shot groups at 200 & 300 yards averaged at just over 1MOA: 2.25" & 3.5" respectively. Since Robby primarily shoots hash marks vs. dialing, he was particularly interested in the trajectory. Even with 100 fps decrease, the Z5 hashmarks lined up almost identically to the Z5 on his 270WSM. -Center crosshair = 100/200 yards -1st hashmark = 300 yards -2nd hashmark = 400 yards -3rd hashmark = 500 yards -4th hashmark = 570 yards The Z5 does have an elevation turret but Robby will need some time to learn it and report back. For those interested, the 6UM is made from the 6.5 SAUM necked down to 6mm with the shoulder blown out to 40 degrees. This cartridge was primarily developed by Unknown Munitions in Post Falls, Idaho. Can storytelling really transform the way we lead, connect, and communicate at work? In this episode, I'm joined by TEDx speaker, trauma-informed coach, and author of Meerbott's Fables, Kelly Meerbott. Inspired by none other than Dr. Seuss, Kelly's tales aren't just for bedtime—they're changing how leaders talk about tough topics like psychological safety, DEI, burnout, and inclusion. We unpack why storytelling hits so differently today, how it can cut through corporate noise, and why the ability to connect emotionally might just be the most underrated leadership skill of all. Whether you're a CEO or a storyteller-in-waiting remember, if they're not moved, they won't move. ----more---- Key Takeaways If they're not moved, they won't move – Leadership communication needs emotion, not just information. Stories break down resistance – Fables connect with people across neurotypes, roles, and belief systems. Say less, mean more – Jargon kills clarity. Simplicity and humanity create impact. Use story to spark discussion, not silence it – Good stories open space for reflection, disagreement, and growth. ----more---- Key Moments The key moments in this episode are: 0:00:10 – The problems with communication today 0:04:00 – Who is Kelly Meerbott? I greet you in Jesus' precious name! It is Thursday morning, the 17th of July, 2025, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today. We start in the Gospel of John 18:36. Jesus answering Pontius Pilate said: “…My kingdom is not from here.” Then we go to the Gospel of Luke 12:15: “Take heed”, Jesus says, ”and beware of covetousness, for one's life does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses.”To covet something is to want something that is not yours, and something that you probably don't need but you just want it. My dear friends, I have seen it so many times. We don't need half of the stuff that we have in our homes, do we? I am talking to myself as well. You know, there are things that we love, there are things that we really want but we don't need them, and that is a big danger.Do you remember the story of the man that worked so hard all his life. He scraped, he scrimped, he lived “on the smell of an oil rag” as they say. He worked so hard but it came at the expense of his family, it came at the expense of relationships, he became unpopular. He wasn't very well loved. He saved it up and bought gold, and he bought lots of gold. In fact, he had a suitcase full of gold bars. And then he died and he went to Heaven, and he took that suitcase with him and when he got to Heaven, the Lord asked Him, “What have you got in that suitcase?” He said, “I have got my possessions, the things that I have coveted all my life and I have brought them with me.” The Lord took him outside. He said, “Do you see the streets here in Heaven are paved with gold? It is worthless.”Oh my friend today, please start to focus on eternal things. I am talking about relationships with your loved ones. Work on those things. Don't work on things that rust and moth will destroy, things which have no eternal benefit. That's what Jesus said to Pilate. He said, “This is not My kingdom. My kingdom is in Heaven.”Jesus bless you and have a wonderful day,Goodbye.
On this last episode of the CobraCast Podcast... My brothers Tony Park, Danny Garcia, Rob Hinton and Joe Wilson from "Three:33" joined me for a 3 hour goodbye episode... We had a great chat, over more than a few drinks of Iron Wolf, about the last 9 years of the CobraCast... It's been on hell of a ride but as the story says, "All Good Things Must Come To And End".... You never know what the future holds, so instead of saying Goodbye, I'm going to say "Take Care of Yourself, Take Care of Each Other and I'll see you on the Flip Side" ;)... Much Love, Peace and Positivity.... Recorded on July 14th, 2025 Sponsored by Iron Wolf Ranch and Distillery https://ironwolfranch.com/

Someone help me. What happened. What's good bro. I think deadmau5 is my cat. Nah. You're serious? I'm…deadfuckingnserious. What makes you think that? [cat is deadmau5] lol isn't it super torturous as fuck as a woman knowing All you really want is for like, one man to like , Just like you, But dudes are notorious for like— Never ever really being able to just ”like” one person? Like dudes like everyone They are notorious whoooores. The like everybody. The older I get like the worse it gets Like here's this guy I like And I pretty much mostly just like him But then like, Look at all these girls! Fuuuuck that! NICOLE BYER OH LOOK. ITS DUM-DUM! this is because I keep forgetting you, isn't it? NICOLE BYER Yes it IS. this might actually be my favorite part of the story. BLŪ is taking a shower when suddenly— NICOLE BYER appears out of nowhere. HEY DUM-DUM. JIMMY KIMMEL uses his newfound ability to time shift (not time travel, persay, but to alter many parallels of a given time) to undo joining a college fraternity. Also in the present nothing appears altered. This invisibly and almost even silently skews several multidimensional parallels into disarray. Unknowing st all of this, he seems content with his decision. Then again, he always seems sort of... JIMMY KIMMEL is quietly enjoying his fishing trip. Basking in the wonderful allone ness of solitude and silence, he uncaps a bottle of [insert product placement here] and takes a very hearty swig, letting out a super contended sigh. …content. It is a picturesque and perfect day; however, something seems off; just then, as he admires his first catch, hanging from the line over the bow, a GIANT SHARK appears out of the water, snapping up his catch and retreating into the abyss with a thunderous SPLASH. Dripping with dismay (and lots of water) JIMMY KIMMEL explodes with an equally thunderous rage. WHAT THE FUCK! He teeters, sopping wet to the edge of the boat, peering momentarily into the rippling water before he realizes it may not be safe, and in the same glimpse from the side of his squinted unrelentlessly still glistening eyes, realizes that this shark has knocked over and spilled his entire bottle of [insert product placement here] He confusedly and exasperatedly cries out and upward into the skies—. THIS IS A LAKE!!! Just a note to remember that I finally perfected my recipe for the absolute best vegan breakfast burrito just previously to writing this. It was delicious. Yes, it was. I— Oh, my god! Parallels, remember! No! (Suddenly eating a burrito) Your memory sucks! It has to. Isn't it all in the culture? I don't know what you're all on about Turned it all on, now i'm off, man Turned it all off, but I laid here for it– Tuned it around, And I payed her for it! How's That Now For an awful apocalypse All on the top of the grant And the ground And the landmine The top of the mountain The tip of the iceberg the tell of the tails And tails of the sweet custom made to order Suits and ties Of course don't rock the boat If you know its yours! JIMMY KIMMEL stares into the distance as baby shark blares over the common room television screen–he appears to be babysitting, but his look is so far off, you wouldn't know he was in the room. The baby shark song seems to drum up some uncomfortable memories from fishing over the weekend. He squints with disdain over the incident with a weary glean in his eyes; this is not something you discuss with other people. Isn't it all in the coat tails? It's toxic, but i've never been a model Or even wanted, so What are all the hot blondes at the office on about? You wanted the host of the talk show, And woke up to croissants and roses, orange juice and probable cause for your lawsuit, But in the moment you loved it So what's everyone on about? Isn't it all in the cufflinks? The stuff you don't tell to your home folks; The homegrown and midwestern corn folks, Discussing your show over corn flakes? So what's everyone on about? Let us just be honest, I didn't know how deep it was Until i opened up pandoras box, And thought, “What the fuck, I've found a horxcrux.” I've found a goldmine, I've got the fox and the hare all in one here, What a show host What a conundrum, What a construct, What a hopeless homonid What a heart to want nothing but To put the top Back on the box And walk away Unknowing all Of what I saw –Middle Days. There's no Tonight Show where I'm from No late night, And no radio hosts No television, no songs No one to lead us on And then to no where No one to cut us off Before the road opens No one to Stop us at the railroad enclosures And no one at all named Love Don't you know that the idea of all of you at all Is just so comfortable, mountain or a horse? Capable and strong? Don't you know the mold of you has sunk into my heart And formed a hole Where all the world will go, When i'm no longer mourning? Are you sure you want to– No. Not at all? I already did! But I saw this thing– Don't tell me about my death. But you were there. That's the thing, actually, you're not understanding– I wasn't. But– Quite possibly everyone and everything around me– Possibly even, or most probably, everything ever– But I promise, Jimmy, if that is even your name– It isn't– exactly. Everything happening–or unhappening in the moment– was everything but me. But– Goodbye! But– Goodbye, I said! I told you it was a deathtrap. That lady is crazy. I'm telling you, have faith! It makes sense. It doesn't make sense! It does make sense. It's just random–gibberish. Its absolutely ludicrous, Jimmy. She's crazy! You're youre right; it is ludicrous, actually, but listen to me— I'm finished listening. Yeah. I think i've heard about enough. But you haven't heard anything! I have now what I needed to know. But these writings… We'll take it from here, Jim. [The suits walk away.] I hope you're flame retardant. I ought to be by now, i guess. Double check your coverage. How'd that go. As expected. At least you expected it. There isn't anything around here I haven't been expecting lately. I mean. V.O. I've been working here for over twenty years… At least you're not being haunted by ghosts or anything. [The irony is in that yes, actually, he is talking to a ghost.] I get it (ripped apart) He's in the music away and carrying with it –you're on! A signal, A ghost– A sacrifice, A ritual, you're on again, Then off again The pitter patter of the dismissive members of Upper society, High ranking elitists And businussmen whom you admire astonishingly Despite discomfort, Whom, happen to no doubt Disapprove of you by nature And yet, Are also drawn To your own power Circumstance Judgement Morals Traditions Honors, Representatives of the establishment The state (no longer a democracy) Repression– All in writer's room revisions What happened? I haven't kept it safe or sacred One tear over Only out the left eye Listen, the marytr I opened a death trap I opened my widened mind To the unknown and impossible, Swallowed it whole with the lot of you I died with knowing only the lowest of the totem pole And yet, low and behold Now, I rise to the top, And such is known that without the bottom, The whole log topples over. Oh wow. I'm famous. Yes, and? It kind of hurts. Eventually that goes away. What a sensation. It's always there. You just stop feeling it. It lingers in on a sunday night, And at most on the full moon, no wolves howling; It sets in in the bunny ears atop the chatterbox In the kitchen, where It outshines us, from the other room On the radio tower, Where in time the vines have climbed And now flower bloom In silent golden era tunes, The tombs of all our knowledge and our light To fade with every passing hour here Goodnight, my son I do not want to know you Goodbye, my father, I do not want to rust And again I wake in the pain and lure of autumn To never known a summer song, And ponder on the dusk It lingers deep on Sunday evening, Setting hard on Monday morn, and though i write so fond of JImmy I dare often dream of Lorne Chapter Four Donovan Arnold was a lover and not a fighter. He never much had to come up against any kind of battle, either, because he was quite prone to always getting exactly what he wanted. Louis Greenworth was not merely a friendly rival—but a challenge, and the two came head to heat in various bouts and brawls in their time at The Summit, where most if not many collide with one another for fortune, and in gratitude that there they had been chosen for greater purpose. Something told me not too far on that Donovan had many to will and tricks up his sleeve without showing it, and in Louis's visions, he cautioned that I should be wary—although, in the rarer and flickering lights of Donovan's knowing and unknown, I should be careful of Louis and his corners. Then, there wasn't a force amongst us which would lightly convey Louis—his doings and his shadows were dark--which is why I had been fashioned to it, and the powerful man he was beared such a heavy weight on all the world around him that he was nothing less than a storm to weather in total. Then, Donovan was such the luck and clever, loving sprite, that his wit and charm was assuring to my embark; there was no way of truly ever waning in the way that Donovan had winged his way into the arrangement in his favor, but at the very least— disappointing his approval would gain no absolute pleasure beyond the astonishing dissonance of loyalty. Then, there were keepers surrounding the might and the truth of The force that the shadows could not bare— there were times and marks and truths beyond the summit that were merely a facet of the things in the beyond, and in the way that The Source rules over its keepers, and its knowings—there was hardly any way for the niceties of pride, judgment most often throwing its way between dear Donovan Arnold and I. There was no nose that could t smell the stench if the foul odor that the rot of betrayal had done. The way of Donovan was seeking to know, without keeping or honor of heart—and I could not withstand another deep wound in the pit of my own truth. They called him Donovan Arnold Palmer because he made a mean Long Island iced tea— which of course he attributed to his affluent east coast heritage, hailing from a long line of the posh and uptight standard boys and girls of the fools and good old days. A clean cut brown nose and absolute stickler for circumstance and dedication, his placement within these sacred places was vanity, first and foremost—and with a sense of tradition and pride he carried on in the way any man would, with great relief that the world didn't rest on his shoulders the way it did on Louis— then, nothing really rested on anyone the way it did in Louis Greenworth. chapter 5 The gifted saint of revelations “Did he hurt you?” I looked away without knowing where to look at all but down, my body aching with the waves of having been pressed and clutched against the spirals of time. I greet you in Jesus' precious name! It is Tuesday morning, the 15th of July, 2025, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today. We go to the first book of the Bible, Genesis 22:14: “And Abraham called the name of the place, The-Lord-Will-Provide; as it is said to this day, “In the Mount of the Lord it shall be provided.” In my footnotes I have got the definition of “the Lord will provide” in Hebrew. It is “Yahweh”. Yahweh - another name for the Lord. The Lord will provide!I want to tell you a little story. I was up in Central Africa some time ago. I was in a very isolated area and we had two blow-outs over a period of about a week. We didn't have any spare wheels in the vehicle, and the Lord provided. You see, I want to say to you that when Abraham was going to offer up Isaac as a living sacrifice, he was about to cut his son's throat with a knife, when the Angel of the Lord said, ”No, don't do that. Have a look in the thicket, there is a ram caught by it's horns”. The Lord provided a way out. The Lord provided a ram to compensate for the death of Isaac, his son, and the Lord was so overwhelmed by the faith and the obedience of Abraham that He said to him more than twice that He will make a covenant with him, and He will be his God and they will be His people, which stands to this very day.Getting back to my story - they contacted the head quarters in the capital city, and they said, “There are no tyres of that size anywhere in the country”, but the Lord provided. A man in South Africa sourced those tyres. He put them on a truck and sent them to Central Africa. They were put on a bus and brought right into the interior of Central Africa and dropped off in a small little village. Then we met up with those two brand spanking new tyres and men that work on the side of the road repairing tyres, took the two punctured tyres off and put on two brand-new tyres. The Lord provides, and by the way, we got home safely, in Jesus' name.I want to say to you today, how many times is the Lord providing for you and you do not even acknowledge it or realise it? Open your spiritual eyes and remember the Lord always provides for His children. Jesus bless you and have a wonderful day,Goodbye.

While this album is a bit soft for our typical rock and roll podcast, you just can't talk about music in the early 70's without giving some attention to the Carpenters. The dual of siblings Karen and Richard Carpenter would have a multitude of hits based on their close harmonies and melodic pop sensibilities. They began as a jazz group in 1966 when Karen was still in high school, and would eventually sign to A&M Records as the Carpenters in early 1969. Richard Carpenter was the keyboardist and primary driver behind the Carpenters' sound. Karen began as the groups drummer, and would continue in this role intermittently, though her distinctive vocals demanded her to often be out front on tour with a touring drummer (Hal Blaine) taking her place behind the kit.A Song for You was the Carpenters fourth studio album. It featured a mixture of songs written or co-written by Richard Carpenter, and songs from other songwriters adapted to the group by Richard Carpenter. It reached number 4 on the Billboard 200 albums chart in the US and number 13 on the UK Albums chart. Six of the 12 songs (plus a reprise of the title track) were released as singles. The Carpenters were careful in managing their image and maintained a wholesome persona throughout their career. Richard Carpenter would balk at the "squeaky clean" image that A&M Records, believing that the focus should be more on the music than their image. Much later the struggles Richard faced with pills would come to light, and Karen's death in 1983 as a consequence of anorexia nervosa would put a much-needed spotlight on the eating disorder affecting countless people. The Carpenters produced 10 albums over their 14-year career, along with a number of singles and multiple television specials. Lynch brings us a look at the softer side of rock for today's podcast. Goodbye to LoveRichard Carpenter and John Bettis wrote this song. Carpenter was inspired to write this track after seeing a 1940 Bing Crosby film called "Rhythm on the River." In the film, the struggling songwriter often refers to his greatest composition being "Goodbye to Love," but the song is never played. Carpenter took this inspiration and created the song. Top of the WorldOne of the best known songs from the Carpenters today, this track was not originally intended to be a single. However, after country singer Lynn Anderson had success with a cover, the Carpenters reconsidered and released the song as a single. It would top the US charts in 1973, one of three Carpenters songs to do so. Hurting Each OtherGary Geld and Peter Udell wrote the original song which was first performed by Jimmy Clanton in 1965. The Carpenters had the Wrecking Crew as their session musicians on their arrangement which went to number 2 on the U.S. charts. A Song for YouThe title song from the album was originally written and performed by Leon Russell on his 1970 solo debut. Though the Carpenters version was not released as a single, it starts and concludes the album, making the whole a concept reflecting on its plea for understanding and forgiveness. ENTERTAINMENT TRACK:Main theme from the television series "The Waltons"This historical drama set in West Virginia during the depression began in September 1972. STAFF PICKS:Saturday in the Park by ChicagoRob open this week's staff picks with a song penned by Robert Lamm for the album Chicago V. The inspiration was either a walk in Central Park on July 4, 1970, or a compilation of film shot in Central Park in the early 70's. The track reached number 3 on the Billboard Hot 100, the highest-charting single from Chicago at the time.Rock 'N' Roll Soul by Grand Funk RailroadWayne's staff pick is the closing anthem from Grand Funk Railroad's sixth studio album, Phoenix. The lyrics from this Detroit group celebrate the power of rock music as a source of joy, freedom, and self-expression. "Tell everyone you know, you've got some Rock and Roll soul."Use Me by Bill WithersBruce brings us a song that Withers penned as a funny answer to those who thought he was too nice. Bill Withers claimed that he wasn't very popular and had a stutter until his late 20's. This song was basically Withers saying, "OK, you want a nasty boy? Well here I come!" It is his second biggest hit in the U.S. behind "Lean on Me," and reached number 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Alone Again (Naturally) by Gilbert O'SullivanLynch closes out the staff picks with an introspective ballad. Despite the upbeat tempo and melody, the lyrics are quite dark. The first verse contemplates suicide after a failed attempt at a wedding, while other verses question the existence of God and lament the loss of parents. Irish singer-songwriter O'Sullivan originally did not include this single on his second album, "Back to Front," but included it on re-issues due to its popularity. It spent six weeks on top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart.INSTRUMENTAL TRACK:Popcorn by Hot ButterYou may not know the name, but you've surely heard this instrumental ditty that went to number 9 on the Billboard Hot 100 and closes out today's podcast. Join Ian Croll, Chris Beesley and Joe Thomas for the Monday edition of the Royal Blue podcast as they look ahead to the start of Everton's pre-season campaign this week. The Blues are set to kick off pre-season with an away trip to League Two side Accrington Stanley. With limited options currently at his disposal, David Moyes will need to blend youth and experience in his first pre-season encounter back at the club. With a number of senior players involved in International action over the summer and not yet back in the fold, this presents a chance for a number of academy players to make their mark. Just how will Everton line up? And is there any cause for concern, given how threadbare the squad is with so much work in the transfer mark still to be done? I greet you in Jesus' precious name! It is Monday morning, the 14th of July, 2025, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today. We start in the 1 Thessalonians 5:17. The Lord says to you and I, “pray without ceasing.” In other words, pray in every situation you find yourself in, and the confirmation of that one is found in the Book of James 5:16:”The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.” Effective, fervent - that's praying with sincerity, urgency, commitment and faith, avails much. Oswald Chambers was a Scottish preacher who wrote a book, (well his wife actually did it after he died. He died at 43 years old and his wife, Biddy Chambers took down all the messages that he ever preached and then she made books out of them). This particular book must be one of the most famous devotionals of all time, and in that book, he says, “Prayer is not a preparation for work, it is work.” Isn't that profound? So we don't pray as a preparation. No, we pray because it's part of what Christians do. He says prayer is not a preparation for the battle, it is the battle! He says prayer is two-fold - definite asking and definite waiting to receive.I want to say to you today, we need to pray continually and we need to believe in what we are praying. It does take some work. It takes time everyday for you to sit aside. Get on your knees, whatever position you find comfortable, and talk to God. “Oh but I can't.” You can! Some of us are just too lazy to do it.I want to tell you something. When I listen to a preacher, I can hear what his prayer life is like. I can pick it up in two minutes, and then I can hear others, like James Hudson Taylor. They said when he prayed, everybody came to a standstill because he was talking directly to his God who he knew so very well. Today, start praying effectively. Start praying without ceasing and remember, it's work and there is a reward for that work, which comes directly from the throne of Heaven.Jesus bless you and have a wonderful prayer day, Goodbye

Final Hour Fun Fact. Quick Hits. Secret Textoso Roundup. Good Bye from the IE.
I greet you in Jesus' precious name! It is Saturday morning, the 12th of July, 2025, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today. We start in the Book of Ecclesiastes 3:11:”He has made everything beautiful in its time.” Then we go straight to Romans 8:28:”And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.“ The Lord makes all things new.A while ago, I was in Central Africa, in that magnificent, beautiful, tropical rain forest, and I was going for a ride down a path on my mountain bike, and I looked at the trees and I noticed something very strange. Just about all of these trees had a little bend in them at about waist height - big trees, small trees, just a little kink in them and I was wondering what it was. Then I realised what had happened was that many years ago, the local people, in order to make money, cut these magnificent trees down and made them into charcoal. Then they sell the charcoal and plant their maize and their ground nuts and their cassava in beds where the trees were, but because Jesus makes all things new, those trees sprouted and started growing again, and this particular area that I was cycling through was completely recovered. I was just thinking, “Lord, You are so special! You make all things new.”Now, I don't know where you are at the moment, in your life. Maybe you've done something that you really regret. Maybe you feel that there's no hope for you. Maybe you've also been put on the ash heap as it were, but I want to tell you that Jesus Christ can restore and make new, whatever has been damaged in your life. All you have to do is to call out to Him and say, ”Lord, please help me. I've made some terrible mistakes. I've destroyed a lot of things, maybe my family, maybe my business, my reputation, and I feel that I am worthless.” The Lord says repent. Say sorry and start again, but this time do it God's way and He will make you into a brand new person.Jesus bless you and have a wonderful day, Goodbye.
Everton have made a number of moves already this summer, with two key signings confirmed in Carlos Alcaraz and Thierno Barry, however, it's clear a number of essential areas still need to be filled. Blues boss David Moyes is keen on strengthening the squad with Premier League experience, which includes players who will be able to stabilise the club's position in the table as well as push on for Europe. With numerous players from across the continent linked, Moyes has made no secret of his intent to create a robust spine, while bringing in quality players in attacking areas. Just where do those key areas lie? And what are Everton's priorities in the next phase of the window? In today's Royal Blue podcast, Ian Croll is joined by Gav Buckland to discuss the latest transfer news as well as reports of Jarrad Branthwaite's release clause and reports that Everton are looking for minority investment in Everton's Women's Team. Also on the agenda is John Textor, the American billionaire who had a failed takeover bid of the club and recently appeared on Talksport. Textor reportedly came close to buying the club and recently revealed why the takeover didn't happen. All that and more on the latest Royal Blue podcast. I greet you in Jesus' precious name! It is Thursday morning, the 10th of July, 2025, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today. We go to the first book of the Bible. Genesis 21:6:“God has made me laugh,…” This is Sarah speaking, ”…and all who hear will laugh with me.” Then we go to a very well-known scripture in Nehemiah 8:10: ”Do not sorrow, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.”How are you feeling this morning? Are you sad, are you disappointed, are you fearful? I want to tell you that Sarah went through all those things and even more. Then, eventually, the Lord gave her a son, and Abraham named him Isaac. Abraham was 100 years old and Sarah was in her late 90's and she laughed and they all laughed with her. I want to say to you today, “Laugh at your problems because the devil is a liar, a thief and a bully, and he will pull you down as much as he can and he will tell you, 'It can't happen, you have lost it, it is too late.” Its a lie, laugh at him in his face, and I want to tell you something now. That will give you strength. The joy of the Lord is our strength. I think of that movie, The Sound of Music. I am talking to young people. If you haven't watched that movie, you need to watch it. It is a good story, its a true story about a girl named Maria. Maria just loved singing, she was always on the mountain tops, she was appreciating God's creation, but Maria was also late. She was late for the church services. She always had to ask for forgiveness from the Mother Superior, and Maria makes me laugh. Despite of all her shortfalls, in spite of all her mistakes, when she ran into a place, everybody started laughing. I want to say to you today, laugh at your problem, because you know something? God has got a solution for you and He has got an answer, and if you do not lose heart and if you keep your faith in Him, He will bring it to pass, just like he gave that old lady, Sarah, a beautiful baby.Jesus bless you and have a happy day,Goodbye.
Is James Garner Everton's most divisive footballer? Why does a player who clearly possesses much talent divide opinion among Everton's fanbase? The midfielder has established himself as an important player under David Moyes with many strings to his bow, however since joining the Blues back in 2022, the former Manchester United man has yet to display his attacking qualities, having played 84 times, scoring only two goals and notching four assists. Compare that to his loan spell at Nottingham Forest in the Championship in the 2021/22 season, he scored four goals and provided 10 assists, which contributed to the East Midlands club's promotion to the Premier League. While Garner has shown glimpses of what he can offer, he is het to convince many Evertonians he can push on. Everton manager David Moyes will no doubt be hoping for more from him next season. In other news, Everton have moved another step closer to finalising a deal to bring Villarreal forward Thierno Barry to the club. Join Ian Croll and Connor O'Neill as they discuss the latest news coming out of Everton Football Club. I greet you in Jesus' precious name! It is Wednesday morning, the 9th of July, 2025, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today. We go straight to the Gospel of Luke 11:2-4: “So He said to them, “When you pray, say: Our Father in heaven,Hallowed be Your name.Your kingdom come.Your will be doneOn earth as it is in heaven.Give us day by day our daily bread. And forgive us our sins,For we also forgive everyone who is indebted to us.And do not lead us into temptation,But deliver us from the evil one.”We are talking this morning about the Lord's Prayer because I can hear somebody saying, ”I don't know how to pray.” Well, that's exactly what the disciples said to Jesus, “Lord, teach us how to pray like John taught his disciples.” And the Lord says, ”and this is how you shall pray.” It's not about the eloquence. It's about the heart.I remember when Jill and I first got saved, yes, not far off fifty years now! We were counselled in a counselling room after we'd made our commitment and they said, ”Come back next Wednesday night and we're going to start. We're going to have a Bible study.” We all sat in a circle. I'll never forget it. I was so nervous. The leader, I don't even know who the man was, I can't remember, said, ”We are going to start off by praying. How many of you know how to pray?” And of course, we went very quiet, all of us. There were about twelve of us there and he said, ”I'm going to start on this side and just pray. Now praying is speaking to Jesus, so speak to Jesus.”Well, I want to tell you, I was very nervous and I prayed a prayer, a simple prayer, but there was one man sitting in the circle, his name was John. You could see had been through fire of life and his prayer was, ”Oh God, please help me!” That's all he prayed. I've never forgotten that prayer, from the heart, desperate, calling out to his newly found Saviour, Jesus Christ.Today, just speak to the Lord. That's what prayer is. Tell Him your troubles, tell Him about your successes, tell Him about your ambitions, your visions, your future, and I want to tell you, it becomes a wonderful relationship. As I finish this message, I'm going to get on my bicycle and I'm going to go for a ride and I'm going to speak to Jesus, thank Him for His beautiful creation, the bush around us, the wild birds, the animals. That is what prayer is about and I know, when I come back from my ride, I will be like a new man. Do it today - in fact do it every day!Jesus bless you and have a wonderful day,Goodbye.

I greet you in Jesus' precious name! It is Tuesday morning, the 8th of July, 2025, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today. We go to the Gospel of Luke 10:37: And he said, “He who showed mercy on him.” Then Jesus said to him, “Go and do likewise.” Jesus told the story of the Good Samaritan. Remember how he took care of the man that was stranded? He put him up in a hotel, paid for him, made sure that all his wounds were healed, gave him his own donkey to get to the hotel, and then told the inn keeper, ”And by the way, if you are short, on my way back from Jerusalem I'll square you up.” That's literally the story in a nutshell. Now, my dear wife, Jill, and I have been in Central Africa and I want to tell you, I am so excited to know that there are many Good Samaritans in this world. Not everyone is out to do you down. We were driving in a very isolated area on a Sunday afternoon, heading towards our destination, which we didn't even know existed, and a car came up alongside us and waved us down. There were young men in that car - well dressed, in a very fancy car. They said, ”Stop! You have got a blowout in your camping vehicle.” I couldn't believe my eyes. I stopped and they stopped as well. I said, ”Could you please help me?” They said, ”No problem.” They took off their fancy clothes. They got underneath the camper, they jacked it up. They took off the wheel which was blown completely. They took the other wheel off the back of the camper and they carefully bolted it onto the vehicle and they made sure that everything was put back correctly, the jack, the spanners - and they did it just because they wanted to help us. We were able to give them a beautiful Bible, just as a token of our appreciation. That is an act that I believe Jesus Christ wants to see you and I doing, not turning and looking the other way. We went on and a few days later, yes, we had another problem with the camper. We went into a little garage and there the man was busy stripping an engine. I said, ”I've got a problem, sir. Can you please help us? We are from South Africa.” No problem. He took us into his little coffee shop, made us at home, told the man to make us a meal, got underneath the camper and in no time he had replaced that broken part and wished us well. We were so grateful and thankful.Folks, today, let's be Good Samaritans. Let's not always want payment for what we do. Let us do good as unto the Lord and Jesus Christ will reward us just like He did the Good Samaritan. Jesus bless you richly today, have a wonderful day, Goodbye.
I greet you in Jesus' precious name! It is Sunday morning, the 6th of July, 2025, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today. We start in the Book of Genesis 18:19: ”For I have known him,…” This is what the Lord is saying about Abraham, ”…in order that he may command his children and his household after him, that they keep the way of the Lord,…” We have an obligation, moms and dads. I'm talking to single parents, as well, to direct our children in the ways of the Lord. Then we go to John 15:16, and the Lord says:”You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you.” Wow, what a beautiful promise! You see, God chose Abraham, Abraham didn't choose God. God saw Abraham as an obedient man and He trusted him, and said he in turn must bring up his children and his household in the things of God. You and I have to do exactly the same. We must bring our children up in the ways of the Lord, the Bible says, and when they grow old, they will not depart from them. Now Dad, Mom, there comes a time in each family where the son or the daughter has come of age, then we need to understand that we have done as much as we can to bring them up in the ways of the Lord, then they have to go ahead on their own and do the job.I remember a sad story of one farmer, in fact two farmers, not related. The one farmer had to wait until he was 60 years old before his father released the reigns to him to continue with the farm. The father was 90 years old. Now the sad part of that story is, by the time a man gets to 60, if he hasn't realised his vision, the stuffing has been knocked out of him, excuse the pun. He has no desire to do anything because he has no vision, because when he was young and he was ready for it, his dad would not hand it over to him. I remember watching the life story of Henry Ford, and in the movie, his son went and built a beautiful motor car, a two-toned coloured motor car. He put a tarpaulin over it and then came and asked his dad to come with him. He wanted to show him what he had made. He pulled the tarpaulin off and this magnificent car was in the workshop. His dad was jealous, you see, he took a hammer that was standing by, a fourteen-pound hammer and bashed that car into pieces, but what he didn't realise was that not only did he break the car into pieces, he broke his son's heart into pieces as well.Today, give your son, your daughter, an opportunity to show you what they can do. You've done the groundwork, let them take it to the next level.God bless you and have a wonderful day,Goodbye.
Goodbye for now and thanks for listening!! From Henry, Jack, and Joe
I greet you in Jesus' precious name! It is Saturday morning, the 5th of July, 2025, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today. We go straight to the Gospel of Luke 10:20:”Nevertheless…” (Jesus says), ”… do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven.” Folks, this is a beautiful scripture. You know, when you stand before the Lord one day, the greatest thing you want to hear from God is, ”Well done, good and faithful servant, come and enter into thy rest.” The one thing you don't want to hear is, ”Who are you? Depart from Me, I never knew you.” The disciples had returned. They said to Jesus, ”Even the evil spirits, we cast them out and they go.” Jesus says, ”That's wonderful,” He said, ”But rather rejoice that your names are written in heaven.” Isn't it a beautiful thing? You walk into someone's house, or into a business, and the person says, ”Hello John, hello Jack!” It makes you feel so good because he remembered you, and he remembered your name. Names are very important to me because I know they mean a lot to people. When you say, ”Hello brother, hello sister,” then you know they've forgotten your name, but when we stand before the Lord one day and He says, ”Welcome home!”- that is going to be the most incredible message to hear out of the mouth of God. He knows me! I want to ask you today, do you know Him personally as your Lord and Saviour? You might say: ”Look, I know about Him, Angus. My family are Christians, my grandfather was a great preacher.” No, but I'm saying, do you know Him? “Well, I hope so.” No, that's not good enough. So how can we be sure that God will recognise us when we get to Heaven? Well, the Bible says in Romans 10:9: ”that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” Now what I want to do is pray with you and maybe you say, ”I've prayed that prayer before.” Well, maybe you want to do it again today because I tell you what, I pray that prayer constantly. Pray this prayer after me.Dear Lord Jesus, Today I want to be sure that when I die and I go to Heaven that You will recognise me and call me by my name, that You will say, ”Welcome home!” And I ask today Lord, that You confirm that, as I would confess You as my Lord and my Saviour, my only God, and the One who died for my sins on the Cross of Calvary. I ask these things in Jesus' name.AmenGod bless you and have a wonderful day,Goodbye.
I greet you in Jesus' precious name! It is Friday morning, the 4th of July, 2025, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today. We go straight to the first book of the Bible, Genesis 18:14: ”Is anything too hard for the Lord? “ That is a question that God asked Sarah when He told Abraham and Sarah they were going to have a baby, and Sarah was well past childbearing. She even giggled. She said, ”Is it possible for an old woman like me to conceive and to bear a child?”I want to say something to a lady listening to this programme today. There is nothing which is too hard for God. What we need to do is ask Him. We need to thank Him in faith, and then we need to trust Him for our miracle. He is the miracle-working God. That I know for sure. There are so many miracles that have happened in my life that I cannot even remember all of them. The one thing that restricts the moving of the Spirit of God is unbelief. That's the only time you tie God's hands and He can't work, if you don't believe. So, I'm going to pray for you at the end of this programme, that God will give you an extra portion of faith to believe for that baby in your life, young lady. I want to agree with you that God will give you the desires of your heart as you delight in Him. You'll find that in Psalm 37:4.I'm talking to that young man who is starting his business, and he just cannot see any way through; that young farmer who is facing a horrific drought or a problem with his crops; I'm talking about that young student who is getting ready to write his finals, and he doesn't think he can do it. You can - only believe! Now, how do we get that kind of faith? Well, the Bible tells us in Romans 10:17: “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” I am speaking to you today and I am quoting the word of God. Now believe it. Don't doubt! Believe it and you will receive the thing which you are trusting God for. Father, I pray for my dear friends listening to this programme early this morning, that You will indeed honour the promise that You have given to them if they will only believe.Jesus bless you and have a wonderful day, Goodbye.

“City Life, Creeping Gentrification and Flesh-eating Snakes:” now that's a gripping tagline! Josh Green, editor of Urbanize Atlanta, joins Host Carol Morgan on the Atlanta Real Estate Forum Radio podcast to discuss his new novel, “Goodbye, Sweetberry Park,” which explores gentrification and urban development through the eyes of the fictional journalist, Archie “God” Johnson. From the Rust Belt to Urbanize Atlanta Green grew up in the Rust Belt and describes it as the “polar opposite of the growing Sun Belt population explosion.” As he began to explore the country, he was fascinated by the vibrance and quick growth of Atlanta and many Florida cities. Now the editor of Urbanize Atlanta, Green taps into his passion for urban development every day, providing readers with detailed perspectives on all things Atlanta. Urbanize Atlanta celebrates its fourth anniversary this year. Green said, “You get on the ground with a camera and just really explore the curiosities about what's happening and how it all links together.” Goodbye Sweetberry Park Following the success of his short story collection, “Dirtyville Rhapsodies” and first novel, “Secrets of Ash,” Green released a new novel, “Goodbye, Sweetberry Park,” earlier this year. The novel chronicles the joys and struggles of a fictional veteran journalist covering a chaotic summer in Atlanta. “It's kind of an amalgamation of a lot of different, fun, beautiful, lovely, troubled, historic intown Atlanta places ranging from West End to Cabbagetown,” said Green. “There's Grant Park mixed in, the fictional Zoo and then where I'm living now, Kirkwood and some Oakhurst.” “Goodbye Sweetberry Park” offers a more personal perspective of gentrification in Atlanta neighborhoods. Green says he draws from his experiences as an Atlanta reporter, so this novel serves as his “street-level” perspective on the topic. One of Green's early influences for the novel was an Atlanta Magazine article he wrote, “The Gentrifier.” He detailed his experience in buying a larger intown home for his family and becoming a “gentrifier” in the process. The article went on to win an Atlanta Press Association Award and sparked major conversations about modernization in the city. Green states that the neighborhood transformation that has stuck with him is the Atlanta Beltline. The trails offer alternative transportation, while restaurants and recreation are big influences for tourism to the city. As Atlanta grows and develops, the Beltline is an asset to connect residents to work, home and attractions. What About Affordable Housing? Transit-oriented development is one way that Green sees Atlanta adding affordable housing. Neighborhoods such as Candler Park are already one step ahead, converting unused MARTA parking lots into brilliant housing complexes and retail centers. With convenient proximity to local MARTA stations and rapid bus routes, residents can take transportation out of their monthly budgets, which makes housing more attainable in the long run. Tune in to the full episode to discover more about Atlanta gentrification and Green's experiences as an Atlanta journalist. Order your copy of “Goodbye, Sweetberry Park” on Amazon or at JoshRGreen.com.
