Haunted by Siobhan's death and the shadow of his father's addictions, Lucky found himself spiraling between grief, guilt, and the pull of old habits. Conversations with Ethan revealed how close he was to numbing the pain, while confrontations with Luke forced him to draw a hard line: he refused to follow in his father's footsteps. Even Liz, holding onto hope for reconciliation, couldn't reach him. When he finally opened Siobhan's letter, Lucky chose a different path—one that took him away from Port Charles and into Ireland, searching for peace and answers. What he found there was anything but simple. At St. Margaret's Chapel, shifting messages appeared in stones, warning him that “Go home, Daddy. Aiden sick.” Shaken but unwilling to ignore the signs, Lucky returned home just in time to save his son. That moment cemented a painful truth: faith sometimes means listening, even when it doesn't make sense. Back in Port Charles, Lucky vowed to be steady for his boys, even as his love for Liz pulled at him. Their relationship, he admitted, had become toxic—a cycle of guilt and codependency that couldn't hold. Despite holiday gestures and moments of closeness, Lucky ultimately chose honesty over nostalgia, ending things to focus on Cam and Aiden. Still, the call of Ireland lingered, tugging him back to the questions Siobhan and Jake left behind. For Lucky, the greatest struggle wasn't just grief or addiction—it was the courage to choose a path forward, finally.#elizabethwebber #luckyspencer #rebeccaherbst #jonathanjackson #nikolascassadine #tylerchristopher #gh #ghhistory #generalhospitalhistory #classicgh #luckyandliz #generalhospitalabc #generalhospital #luluspencer #lauraspencer #lukespencer #aidenspencer This podcast is not endorsed by, directly affiliated with, maintained, authorized, or sponsored by ABC Television Network, Prospect Studios, or any official General Hospital organizations. This week in Port Charles, Jason led the way in honoring Monica with a moving memorial, guiding the Quartermaines and their loved ones through a powerful farewell. Several people shared their memories, with Lucy offering her reflection of their shared history. Lulu reminded Jason that he was always part of Monica's home. Ned was ready to tell Brook Lynn about his past affair with Monica, but she revealed she already knew, sparing him the awkward conversation. Tracy fled to Atlantic City overwhelmed, and Lois stepped in to bring her home. When Drew showed up, Tracy immediately wheeled him out of the chapel, refusing to let him stay. Brook Lynn bonded with Dante over Gio's presence.. Away from the memorial, Britt received a chilling package hinting that Cesar may still be alive. Questions arose about Nathan's return from the dead. Rocco began forming a connection with Britt, Molly admitted her feelings for Cody to Alexis, and Portia and Isaiah agreed to pursue their relationship in secret. Meanwhile, Trina confronted Jordan about Curtis, and Curtis confessed to Marshall what he had been doing the night Drew was shot. The week closed with Monica's photo placed beside Alan's at the hospital —while a mysterious woman's presence in the Quartermaine Crypt left Port Charles with new questions still to be answered. This podcast is not endorsed by, directly affiliated with, maintained, authorized, or sponsored by ABC Television Network, Prospect Studios, or any official General Hospital organizations. Here's how it works:Opt-In Program: The auto-voting feature is a voluntary, opt-in program for retail investors.Automatic Voting: Once enrolled, an investor's shares will be automatically voted in accordance with the board's recommendations on all proposals at shareholder meetings.Flexibility for Investors: Despite the automated nature, investors will still receive all proxy materials and retain the right to manually override the automatic vote on any specific proposal. They can also opt out of the program at any time, free of charge.Exxon's Stated Rationale:Leveling the Playing Field: Exxon argues that this program is a matter of fairness, designed to give retail investors the same ease of voting that institutional investors have. They contend that individual investors often lack the time and resources to research and vote on complex proxy proposals.Addressing Low Turnout: The company has highlighted that while retail investors hold a significant portion of its shares (nearly 40%), their voting turnout is low (only about a quarter of them vote).Countering Activist Agendas: Exxon has explicitly stated that activist groups have exploited this low retail voter participation to advance their own agendas, which the company claims are often political and detrimental to long-term shareholder value.Texas AG probes proxy advisers Glass Lewis, ISS amid ESG backlash By ReutersExxon Urges Europe to Repeal Rules to Make Companies Track Climate PollutionGoodliest of the Week (MM/DR):DR: Tyson is ditching corn syrupIt also plans to axe sucralose, BHA/BHT, and titanium dioxide from its food by the end of 2025MM: New Poll Finds That Americans Loathe AI53 percent of just over 5,000 US adults polled in June think that AI will "worsen people's ability to think creatively." In this episode I'm coming to you from a little patch of sand on T20 Beach in Da Nang, Vietnam. In normal times on a Friday late afternoon I would probably be seeing many tourists on this beach that had just arrived from different cities in Vietnam, East Asia, and Southeast Asia. Due to the pandemic it appears many of these luxury resorts sit quiet waiting for things to open up again. The American Forces dubbed this whole strip of coastline from Son Tra(Monkey Mountain), south to Hoi An, "China Beach" during the Vietnam War. It was an R&R retreat for armed forces stationed throughout the region. The 95th Evacuation Hospital was used as the basis for the fictional 510th Evacuation Hospital in the ABC Television Network series that ran between 1988-91. These are some of the most beautiful beaches in Southeast Asia with something for everyone. If you want a quiet spot or if you want to join a volleyball match or surf that's available to you as well as just observing the life of fisherman on Man Thai Beach at the Northern end of this piece of coastline. How to Get Your Kid to Eat (Almost) Everything Most parents have faced the challenge of meeting resistance when introducing a child to new foods. As they grow older, mealtimes can become a battleground where power struggles between parent and child ensue. It doesn't have to be this way. You don't have to be a short-order cook, and you don't have to make food that looks like an art project to get your child to eat something besides "kid-friendly" chicken nuggets and grilled cheese. Instilling healthy eating habits in your little one doesn't have to be a pipe dream. As parents, we want to raise children who don't live on junk food, make healthy choices, and reach for whole foods at snack time. However, many of us go about teaching our toddlers and young children all about how "good for you" these foods are, which can backfire. Enter Julie Revelant, today's guest on A Healthy Bite podcast. Listen as Julie shares some tips for getting more vegetables into your child's diet and reducing angst at the dinner table. Julie advocates instilling healthy eating patterns by modeling them to your child while taking the focus off what the food does and putting it on how it makes you feel. Dinnertime can be a peaceful and enjoyable part of your day! Children can learn to enjoy a variety of foods, including healthy snacks (and veggies) from all the food groups.  that your child refuses to eat right now.  Julie's course promises to turn picky eaters into little foodies. (Although, take note, one of the biggest mistakes she's seen parents make is labeling their toddlers' picky eaters the second they refuse to eat.) In its landmark 1963 decision Gideon v. Wainwright, the Supreme Court mandated the right to counsel in federal and state criminal proceedings. Fifty-one years after that unanimous decision, some question whether Gideon's promise has been fulfilled, as public defenders struggle against heavy caseloads, limited resources and low pay. On this episode of Lawyer2Lawyer, hosts Bob Ambrogi and J. Craig Williams interview Jonathan Rapping, founder of the Atlanta-based public defender training program Gideon's Promise, and Dawn Porter, director and producer of the documentary Gideon's Army. GUESS WHO'S COMING TO... BLOG
I have some questions about Charlotte Ross’ 1.4 Million-Dollar buttocks.

GUESS WHO'S COMING TO... BLOG

Play Episode Listen Later Feb 1, 2008

Last Saturday I came home and turned my computer looking for South Carolina primary updates and found an article titled 'NYPD' Buttocks May Cost $1.4 Million. My curiosity peaked I clicked on the link and saw a picture of the actress Charlotte Ross who starred in NYPD Blue from 1998-2004. I read, "The Federal Communications Commission has proposed a $1.4 million fine against 52 ABC Television Network stations over a 2003 broadcast of cop drama NYPD Blue". But wait. That episode aired about five years ago.Sometime around late February or early March of 2003 my wife and I were at a party and the subject of Charlotte Ross’ nude scene on NYPD Blue came up in conversation. I mentioned that we had missed the episode, as did several others at the party. The lady of the house was so impressed with Charlotte Ross in that now infamous scene that she had her husband pop the episode in the VCR so we could all watch. The consensus of the women in the room was that it was great to see a woman with a real body on TV. Words like "Brave" and "Bold" were used to describe Charlotte Ross’ choice to do that scene. Not wanting to sound like total pigs, the guys in the room discussed the camera work and the editing. The Man of the house paused the scene (approximately 34 seconds on the YouTube video) and pointed out that the boy’s head was perfectly positioned so we could not see Charlotte Ross’ nipples. When the scene is paused it is obvious that this was a composite shot and the boy was filmed separately and added in later. Personally I thought the scene had the innocence of the label on a bottle of Coppertone. Why is this scene just now being addresseed now by the FCC? Other controversial issues like the profanity (The F-word is used 21 times) used in ABC's, broadcast of Saving Private Ryan on Veterans Day in 2004. Or earlier that year when Janet Jackson had her "wardrobe malfunction" during the Super Bowl halftime show. Both issues took much less time to resolve. If you are keeping score at home:Janet Jackson’s breast: $550,000.Charlotte Ross’ buttocks: $1.4 million.($27.500 x 52 ABC central & Mountain Time zone stations)The F-word 21 times: Priceless.(The FCC later cleared the film, nothing that "Contextual considerations are critical in making indecency determinations.")In my research I can’t find an answer to my timing question. I just seem to have more questions. I also could not find any logical or even a reasonable reason as to why the FCC would want to go after a show that has been off the air for almost three years. Talk about beating a dead horse. Most importantly why does the FCC in their order refer to the buttock as a sex organ when it is not an organ, but a muscle. The FCC report described Charlotte Ross’ naked buttocks as titillating. That assessment seems subjective since butts may vary. If Charlotte Ross’ naked buttocks is titillating, then is not the mind is also a sex organ? If someone gives you a "come hither" look or "bedroom eyes" then are not eyeballs sex organs? I can go on with more examples but why go down that road?Logically I think that the FCC is pandering to social conservatives and their watch dog groups. Many would complain about the subject matter in the scene even if there were no nudity in it at all. These same groups just insured that ABC will make their 1.4 million dollars back from increased DVD sales thanks to all the press this story is getting. Does this make the FCC the true... buttock here? Finally, is the FCC is insisting that the buttock is a sex organ because of what they plan to do to ABC.I’d love to quote Sgt. Andy Sipowicz (Dennis Franz) here but instead I’ll keep it clean and quote William Shatner on SNL, "GET A LIFE, will you people? I mean, for crying out loud, it's just a TV show!"Stay TunedTony Figueroa
