Verdict with Ted Cruz
The UN has Their Hat Out, Why the Netflix Merger is paramount in Entertainment & Americans Agree on Voter ID Week In Review

Verdict with Ted Cruz

1. United Nations Funding Crisis The United Nations is facing financial collapse because the United States has reduced or withdrawn funding. This is a move to stop funding “woke” & ideological programs. The UN is ineffective, bureaucratic, and overly dependent on U.S. taxpayer money. Symbolic examples (turned-off escalators, reduced heating) are used to emphasize desperation and mismanagement. The U.S. withdrew from 66 international organizations and treaties, framed as: Cost-saving Anti-globalist Pro-American sovereignty Many of these organizations are described as obscure, wasteful, or hostile to U.S. interests. The underlying message is that global institutions dilute U.S. power without delivering value. 2. Media Merger and National Security Concerns Focus shifts to a major media merger (Netflix / Warner Bros / Paramount context). Concerns raised include: Foreign influence, especially money from the Middle East or China National security implications Loss of American cultural control The argument is that entertainment media shapes public perception more than news. Hollywood and major streaming platforms are portrayed as: Predominantly left-wing Hostile to conservative viewpoints Engaged in ideological indoctrination Executives are challenged on whether their content fairly represents conservatives. The inability to name conservative-oriented programming is used as evidence of bias. The merger is framed as dangerous because it could: Concentrate cultural and political influence Amplify a single ideological viewpoint The Department of Justice and FCC are identified as key gatekeepers. The timeline for approval is described as months to years, with high stakes for media freedom. 3. Save America Act (Voter ID Legislation) Proof of U.S. citizenship to register to vote Photo ID to vote The bill is common-sense and widely supported, including among minority voters. Democrats, particularly Chuck Schumer, are accused of: Using “Jim Crow” rhetoric to scare voters Ignoring polling that shows broad support for voter ID Opposition is attributed to: Desire to preserve election vulnerabilities Partisan strategy rather than public opinion Ballot harvesting is described as inherently vulnerable to abuse. Examples (nursing homes, paid operatives) are used to argue: Elderly and vulnerable voters can be exploited Ballots can be selectively discarded The Carter–Baker Commission is cited to legitimize these concerns. Acknowledges internal Republican resistance and logistical challenges. Emphasizes urgency and political pressure as tools to pass the bill. Please Hit Subscribe to this podcast Right Now. Today, we have a special guest on the podcast, Keith Lucas, a startup advisor specializing in product, growth, people and culture. Keith led product and engineering at Roblox, helping scale its infrastructure, product offerings, team and business. Most recently, Keith published a book entitled Impact: How to Inspire, Align, and Amplify Innovative Teams. All book proceeds go to charities to help young entrepreneurs, so make sure you check the link in the notes and grab the book today. In our chat, Keith is going to walk us through key concepts in the book, surrounding centering your team around the vision and mission of what you are driving towards, from recruiting to execution to "coaching out".Questions:What was your goal in writing this book? What were you hoping to accomplish? In Chapter 1, you mention purpose inspiring action. How does aligning to purpose drive urgency, without resulting in burnout or being an "antiquated mandate", like you mention in Chapter 2?You state "Culture is what you do, not what you say"... How does a leader's daily behavior - especially around micromanagement or decision-making speed - define the team's realized values, overriding the company's codified ones?I found the idea of The Cascade (Chapter 5) interesting, mapping core beliefs to execution alignment. In terms of feedback, what is the difference between "belief busting" and "hypothesis busting" feedback? How should leaders respond to each in order to maintain trust and agility? How often should entrepreneurial teams deliberately challenge and re-org autonomous pods to optimize for agility and opportunity, over long term stability? Now this is interesting - the "okay contributor", you define as a person who meets standards in all areas but shows no exceptionalism. Why is this person more damaging to a culture of mastery, than the high talent disrupter? What is a Mission Athlete? When recruiting, how does preparing a vision doc for a role shift the recruiting conversation from transactional to one focused on strategic alignment and ownership? You mention in Chapter 8 that compensation can be a distraction. What core mistakes do scaling startups make with compensation that turn it from a non-issue into an energy-sapping problem that erodes retention? You define Coaching Out as the intentional process of protecting the productive from the disruptive, treating an exit as a non-personal assessment that maintains decency and clarity. Can you describe the GYOR continuum? Why should leaders avoid formal PIP's when dealing with a struggling team member? What must replace it to ensure accountability and decency?SponsorsTECH DomainsMezmoBraingrid.aiAlcorEquitybeeTerms and conditions: Equitybee executes private financing contracts (PFCs) allowing investors a certain claim to ESO upon liquidation event; Could limit your profits. Two-time Emmy and Three-time NAACP Image Award-winning, television Executive Producer Rushion McDonald interviewed Ashley M. Fox. Summary of the Interview In this episode of Money Making Conversations Masterclass, Rushion McDonald interviews Ashley M. Fox—former Wall Street analyst, Howard University alum, financial educator, and founder/CEO of Amplify, a fintech platform focused on making wealth‑building accessible to everyday people. Ashley shares her journey from working with ultra‑high‑net‑worth clients on Wall Street to becoming an entrepreneur determined to bring financial education and empowerment to communities traditionally excluded from wealth conversations. She discusses the creation of Amplify, her financial fall and recovery, her work in schools and prison systems, and how digital content has allowed her to scale her mission globally. The discussion emphasizes mindset, self‑belief, access, and a practical path to wealth, even starting with as little as $20. Purpose of the Interview The interview aims to: 1. Inspire financial empowerment Ashley explains how anyone—regardless of background or starting point—can begin building wealth and shift generational outcomes. 2. Demystify investing and wealth-building She breaks down how simple investing can be, the power of small consistent contributions, and how wealth isn’t limited to entrepreneurs or high earners. 3. Highlight her fintech platform Amplify She shares how Amplify democratizes financial education through online tools, community, and accessible investing classes. 4. Encourage a mindset shift Ashley stresses the importance of eliminating fear, building confidence, and using logic instead of emotion when making financial decisions. Key Takeaways 1. Wealth Begins with Belief and Mindset Ashley learned on Wall Street that the biggest difference between wealthy and non-wealthy people is not education—it's self-belief. Many people don’t believe wealth is possible for them because they've never seen it. 2. You Don’t Need a Lot of Money to Start Investing She urges people to start with $20, even buying fractional shares. It’s consistency—not starting amount—that builds wealth. 3. You Can Invest in Others’ Ideas—Not Just Your Own Building wealth doesn’t require launching a business. Buying stock is one of the easiest ways to participate in wealth creation. 4. Ashley’s Own Journey Included Failure After leaving Wall Street, she was evicted, slept on her parents’ couch for two years, and maxed out credit cards. Her purpose kept her going. 5. Financial Education Should Start Early She developed financial education programs for schools, prison systems, and everyday families because adults often learn too late. 6. Amplify Scales Wealth Education Her platform offers 300+ hours of videos and tools, helping members open 3,000+ investment accounts and invest $7.4M collectively. 7. Social Media Is Her Biggest Access Point Ashley reaches millions by being authentic, relatable, and consistent—meeting people where they are. 8. You Must Pay Yourself First Most people pay bills, companies, and creditors before investing in themselves. She emphasizes reversing that pattern. 9. Logic Over Emotion Wealth requires logical decision‑making, especially in the market. Emotional reactions undermine long-term financial growth. Notable Quotes (Taken From the Transcript) On Wealth Mindset “When you think and know and believe you have the power to create wealth and you deserve wealth, you move a different way.” “There is no president that can build the wealth that you can create for your family.” On Starting Small “You don't have to have a lot of money to start. You just have to have the will to begin.” “A whole lot of $20 can get you to a million—as long as you don’t stop.” On Investing “Consider the companies you give your money to and own them, because they are a lot cheaper than you think.” “If I’m helping you build a billion‑dollar business by using your products, I deserve a piece of the pie.” On Self-Reliance “You pay everybody… the bartender, the mortgage company—and you’re the one without money. Who’s going to worry about you?” On Purpose and Identity “My story never changed. The mission was always dedicated to the people I didn’t see coming into that building on Wall Street.” “Amplify is the movement. It just has my DNA.” #SHMS #STRAW #BESTSupport the show: https://www.steveharveyfm.com/See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Two-time Emmy and Three-time NAACP Image Award-winning, television Executive Producer Rushion McDonald interviewed Dave Charest. Summary of the Dave Charest Interview In this episode of Money Making Conversations Masterclass, Rushion McDonald interviews Dave Charest, Director of Small Business Success at Constant Contact, a leading digital marketing platform. Charest discusses the rising wave of entrepreneurship, the foundational importance of email and direct‑to‑customer channels, common mistakes new business owners make, and how AI is reshaping small‑business marketing. He provides practical guidance on marketing consistency, channel selection, building community relationships, and using technology to scale. Throughout the conversation, Charest emphasizes that while small businesses often lack marketing expertise, they possess a valuable advantage: real, human relationships that can be strengthened through consistent communication. Purpose of the Interview The purpose of Rushion McDonald’s conversation with Dave Charest is to: 1. Educate new and aspiring entrepreneurs Charest breaks down the basics of digital marketing—email, social, SMS—and how to begin building a strong marketing foundation. 2. Highlight the key trends driving the entrepreneurship boom He explains motivations like work–life balance, independence, and financial potential that inspire people to launch businesses. 3. Provide practical, actionable marketing advice Especially around consistency, choosing marketing channels, and building direct customer relationships. 4. Introduce how AI can simplify and amplify marketing Charest showcases tools that help business owners quickly generate content, develop campaigns, and analyze customer behavior. Key Takeaways 1. Direct relationships (email/SMS) outperform social media Email offers ownership, stability, and higher ROI—unlike social platforms that can change algorithms or visibility overnight. Charest stresses that “the money is in the list.” 2. You don’t need huge numbers to be effective Small businesses often see high open and engagement rates because followers know and trust them. 3. Consistency matters more than platform choice Whether you choose Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, or email, the biggest driver of marketing success is showing up regularly. 4. Start small—don’t overwhelm yourself One of the biggest mistakes entrepreneurs make is trying to do everything at once. Begin with the basics and grow steadily. 5. Community is a crucial marketing asset Local businesses thrive when they maintain strong connections with nearby businesses, customers, and community networks. 6. Entrepreneurs face challenges—but resilience wins Charest notes that small business owners rarely have a “Plan B,” which pushes them to adapt and continue learning. 7. AI is transforming small‑business marketing Constant Contact offers tools to: Generate emails and content Summarize content for social Build full marketing campaigns Analyze behavior from large email lists to recommend actions Notable Quotes (from the transcript) Here are direct paraphrases and key phrases—not copyrighted material but drawn from the transcript: On email vs. social “There’s a $36 return for every $1 invested in email—but what matters is that you own the relationship.” “If a social platform goes away, so does your following. Email is a direct line.” On audience size “Big numbers aren’t necessary—small lists can see 50% open rates and strong engagement because those people actually care.” On entrepreneurship motivations “People want better work‑life balance, independence, and financial potential.” On mistakes “A big mistake is trying to do too much at once. Start small and stay consistent.” On community “Digital marketing should extend real relationships—not replace them.” On choosing platforms “Where your audience spends time matters, but so does where you can show up consistently.” On AI’s role “AI can generate emails, build campaigns, and analyze audience data—saving you time for what you’d rather be doing.” #SHMS #STRAW #BESTSupport the show: https://www.steveharveyfm.com/See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

7. We also have a show this weekend on Friday, January 23, in Baltimore at Dicks Halfway Inn with Will Sims, Old Eastern, Peace by Peace, and A Band of Misfits. We talked about the recording process for both the audio and video of the song, as well as a lot of other mutual projects we have going on. We also dove into what it means to be an artist in 2026 and everything related to that. Luke, of course, also runs his Amplify video series for artists all over the DMV, and you can check him out at @ljrcreative for more info on that. In this episode, Travis and producer Eric break down one of society's most enduring myths — that rich people are inherently “bad.” Drawing from his personal experiences interviewing and interacting with some of the wealthiest individuals in the world, Travis explores how wealth amplifies who we already are, rather than changes us. This episode turns humor, perspective, and real-world insight into an honest look at what it really means to be rich — in money and in mindset. On this episode we talk about: *   Why people often assume the wealthy are corrupt or unethical*   How money amplifies character rather than defining it*   The portrayal of rich people in Hollywood and popular media*   Why “new money” behavior differs from generational or extreme wealth*   The richest guest ever to appear on Travis Makes Money—and what he learned from him Top 3 Takeaways 1.  Money doesn't determine morality—it simply magnifies who you already are.2.  Hollywood often portrays the wealthy as villains because it sells, not because it reflects reality.3.  True wealth reveals itself through generosity, humility, and discipline, not flashiness or status symbols. Notable Quotes *   “Money is almost never the indicator of what kind of person you are—it's an amplifier of who you already are.”*   “It's easy to vilify the people we envy most…and that's why so many assume rich equals bad.”*   “The guy in the Lamborghini and the $5,000 suit is probably not the wealthiest person in the room.” Connect with Travis Chapel: *   Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/travischappell *   Website: https://travischappell.com *   LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/travischappell *   Twitter/X: https://twitter.com/traviscchappell  Travis Makes Money is made possible by High Level – the All-In-One Sales & Marketing Platform built for agencies, by an agency.  Capture leads, nurture them, and close more deals—all from one powerful platform.  Get an extended free trial at gohighlevel.com/travis Learn more about your ad choices. Ashley M. It just has my DNA.” #SHMS #STRAW #BESTSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

From investing through the modern data stack era (DBT, Fivetran, and the analytics explosion) to now investing at the frontier of AI infrastructure and applications at Amplify Partners, Sarah Catanzaro has spent years at the intersection of data, compute, and intelligence—watching categories emerge, merge, and occasionally disappoint. We caught up with Sarah live at NeurIPS 2025 to dig into the state of AI startups heading into 2026: why $100M+ seed rounds with no near-term roadmap are now the norm (and why that terrifies her), what the DBT-Fivetran merger really signals about the modern data stack (spoiler: it's not dead, just ready for IPO), how frontier labs are using DBT and Fivetran to manage training data and agent analytics at scale, why data catalogs failed as standalone products but might succeed as metadata services for agents, the consumerization of AI and why personalization (memory, continual learning, K-factor) is the 2026 unlock for retention and growth, why she thinks RL environments are a fad and real-world logs beat synthetic clones every time, and her thesis for the most exciting AI startups: companies that marry hard research problems (RAG, rule-following, continual learning) with killer applications that were simply impossible before. We discuss: The DBT-Fivetran merger: not the death of the modern data stack, but a path to IPO scale (targeting $600M+ combined revenue) and a signal that both companies were already winning their categories How frontier labs use data infrastructure: DBT and Fivetran for training data curation, agent analytics, and managing increasingly complex interactions—plus the rise of transactional databases (RocksDB) and efficient data loading (Vortex) for GPU-bound workloads Why data catalogs failed: built for humans when they should have been built for machines, focused on discoverability when the real opportunity was governance, and ultimately subsumed as features inside Snowflake, DBT, and Fivetran The $100M+ seed phenomenon: raising massive rounds at billion-dollar valuations with no 6-month roadmap, seven-day decision windows, and founders optimizing for signal ("we're a unicorn") over partnership or dilution discipline Why world models are overhyped but underspecified: three competing definitions, unclear generalization across use cases (video games ≠ robotics ≠ autonomous driving), and a research problem masquerading as a product category The 2026 theme: consumerization of AI via personalization—memory management, continual learning, and solving retention/churn by making products learn skills, preferences, and adapt as the world changes (not just storing facts in cursor rules) Why RL environments are a fad: labs are paying 7–8 figures for synthetic clones when real-world logs, traces, and user activity (à la Cursor) are richer, cheaper, and more generalizable Sarah's investment thesis: research-driven applications that solve hard technical problems (RAG for Harvey, rule-following for Sierra, continual learning for the next killer app) and unlock experiences that were impossible before Infrastructure bets: memory, continual learning, stateful inference, and the systems challenges of loading/unloading personalized weights at scale Why K-factor and growth fundamentals matter again: AI felt magical in 2023–2024, but as the magic fades, retention and virality are back—and most AI founders have never heard of K-factor — Sarah Catanzaro X: https://x.com/sarahcat21 Amplify Partners: https://amplifypartners.com/ Where to find Latent Space X: https://x.com/latentspacepod Substack: https://www.latent.space/ Chapters 00:00:00 Introduction: Sarah Catanzaro's Journey from Data to AI 00:01:02 The DBT-Fivetran Merger: Not the End of the Modern Data Stack 00:05:26 Data Catalogs and What Went Wrong 00:08:16 Data Infrastructure at AI Labs: Surprising Insights 00:10:13 The Crazy Funding Environment of 2024-2025 00:17:18 World Models: Hype, Confusion, and Market Potential 00:18:59 Memory Management and Continual Learning: The Next Frontier 00:23:27 Agent Environments: Just a Fad? 00:25:48 The Perfect AI Startup: Research Meets Application 00:28:02 Closing Thoughts and Where to Find Sarah

Who's ready to take a breath, pause, and REFLECT with me during this busy, yet beautiful holiday season? This week's episode is a POWERFUL and timely one that can absolutely change the trajectory of your next year. Before you sprint into 2026 with new goals, new plans, and big dreams, I want you to PAUSE. Because clarity, confidence, and courage doesn't just come from looking forward — it comes from looking BACK and extracting the GOLD from 2025 also. And that's exactly what we are doing today. This episode is all about the transformational power of reflection and why it is STEP ONE in creating your BEST YEAR YET. You ready?! WHY REFLECTION MATTERS (5-GAME-CHANGING REASONS): 1. Reflection creates clarity amid the chaos. Life is loud. Fast. Busy. Reflection slows the noise, shifts you from autopilot to intentionality, and gives you crystal-clear focus. Clarity is jet fuel for your goals. 2. Reflection builds confidence by celebrating wins. Most people forget how far they've come. Reflection forces you to capture the GOOD, celebrate the wins, and remember this truth: YOU are capable, resilient, and stronger than you think. 3. Reflection turns challenges into wisdom. Challenges don't break you — they SHAPE you. When you write them down, pain turns into purpose and lessons become leverage for the future. 4. Reflection reduces stress and anxiety. Writing is therapeutic. When thoughts stay in your head, they create pressure. When they hit paper, they create perspective. Lighten the load. Breathe. Release. 5. Reflection realigns you with purpose and values. Reflection reconnects you to what matters most — faith, family, mission, calling. It's a recalibration of your internal GPS. 10 POWERFUL QUESTIONS TO REFLECT ON IN 2025: Take time with these. Don't rush them. Write them out. 1. What were your TOP 5 wins or highlights of 2025? 2. What were your biggest challenges — and what did they teach you? 3. In what ways did you grow the most this year? 4. What did you START in 2025 that you want to AMPLIFY in 2026? 5. What did you tolerate in 2025 that you will NO LONGER tolerate in 2026? 6. What relationships mattered most — and how can you be more intentional with them? 7. What habits FUELED you? What habits DRAINED you? 8. What are you most PROUD of in 2025? 9. Where did you feel the presence of God the most this year? 10. If 2025 were a chapter in the book of your life, what would the TITLE be? These questions are where breakthroughs happen. Not only do I share many of my answers, I ask you to answer them as well. When you start with reflection, your goals become more meaningful, your vision becomes clearer, and your drive becomes PURER. ACTION STEPS: Please Block out 30–60 minutes this week, find a quiet space, grab your journal or Annual Strategic Plan, and start writing. Breathe. Reflect. Don't overthink it. When you take time to pause and look back, you extract the wisdom of 2025 and create a powerful launchpad for what's next.
