She received her B.A. in English Literature and pre med studies as well as her M.Ed. in Community Counseling from Loyola University Graduate School of Education. In school she specialized in trauma studies, primary attachments in children and adult recovery from childhood traumas. She began to focus upon the interplay of trauma as it pertains to formative attachments.  Erin has been working with trauma survivors since 2002 as the counseling intern at an underserved urban elementary school near Garfield Park in Chicago. She was published in 2002 in The American Journal of Psychotherapy “Learning the ‘Impossible Task' of Psychotherapy”. She was also invited to join Spirit in Flight in 2003, a healing retreat for flight attendants from American and United Airlines who were directly involved in the events of 9/11.  Erin's work has expanded to include clients who handle eating disorders, early developmental and attachment ruptures, complex trauma, career path counseling and life transitions. In addition to training interns, peer supervision and, presenting at conferences she consults and provides workshops for corporations and schools.  Her focus has begun to turn towards releasing a client's blocks to abundance. She assists her clients in creating abundance in specific realms – financial, career, family, and relationships. She describes her work as brief, focused and oriented entirely towards what her clients wish to accomplish.  Erin has had a gift for healing others since she could remember which led her to study as a psychotherapist. Erin became interested in the body-based aspect of psychotherapy in working with trauma and eating disorders. She noticed how separately the body and the psyche were approached.  From there, she sought and received 5 years training in Somatic Experience therapy and bodywork techniques www.traumahealing.org . She is now an assistant in the S.E. trainings. Erin is also trained in Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) when she joined the treatment team at The Awakening Center. IFS incorporates the physical awareness and Self Energy and DBT balances mindfulness, emotional regulation, reframing and proactive behavioral approaches to stress in the mind and body. But it seemed like there was more to the work she wanted to do. She knew that her clients with eating disorders were struggling to find freedom from attack on body mind and spirit.  In addition to traditional psychotherapy,  Erin sought training to enhance her healing and psychic gifts from childhood. Erin's curiosity about the body-mind connection led her to training in healing energy work. She became an intuitive healer, spiritual coach and incorporates awareness of energy into her counseling work. Consciousness, energy awareness, intuition and guided imagery became a doorway to learning about consciousness, meditation, and even psychic training. She meets her clients where they want to begin.

Being open to change and adapting your offers can lead to better outcomes; in life & business. Join us as we dive into Julie's story and discover that it's perfectly okay to adjust your path while pursuing your goals and dreams. Join the conversation as they discuss: Timing and Season: Recognize the right timing for pursuing your goals. Giving yourself permission to wait for the right season can lead to better outcomes. Adaptability: From 1:1 practice to group programs, online courses, and eventually a podcast and book, offers change and that's ok. Being open to change and new opportunities can lead to growth and success. Flexibility and willingness to adapt are essential for personal and professional growth. Building a Brand: Online content can play a significant role in building your brand and attracting publishers' attention. Consistency and branding are powerful tools for achieving recognition and opportunities. Financial Considerations: Pursuing your passion, like writing a book, may not always bring immediate financial rewards. Sometimes you need to acknowledge that you may not make much money in a particular season because you believe in the value of your book and the opportunities it could create. Community and Accountability: Find support and accountability through your audience and community. By thinking outside the box (live sessions & coworking with others) you can engage with your audience which helps you stay on track with your writing goals. Remember that success often involves waiting for the right season and being open to change and new opportunities. What Critical Foundation Do Many Parents Miss When Discipling Their Kids? w/ Robby Angle - Episode 68

Where does discipleship in the home start? Do you use a particular curriculum or a new Bible study or is there a check list that gets the job done? All of those things can be helpful, but they aren't where discipleship starts. Discipleship needs to begin with a spiritual truth that so many parents miss because often they don't know it themselves.   That truth is identity.   Understanding our identity in Christ is central to our walk with God, which makes it central to our parenting and our discipleship of our kids and their understanding of who God has created them to be. If we miss the core component of identity, that omission will show up everywhere else.   Joining Catherine to unpack the foundational truth of identity is Robby Angle, President and CEO of Trueface, based in Dawsonville Georgia. A small groups expert, Robby is the author of Embark as well as The Cure for Groups. He also hosts a podcast, Trueface: Beyond The Mask, which helps listeners learn how to increase trust in God and experience his grace.   Robby and his wife, Emily, both worked in professional counseling and aid work, where they served with Samaritan's Purse in Pakistan and Myanmar overseeing international disaster response teams. They received a Master's in Community Counseling from Appalachian State University, which has equipped them to teach others how to have a deeper relationship with God. They now have 8 children, most of which are adopted.   Together, Catherine and Robby unpack the critical foundation of our shared identity in Christ and then apply that understanding to our children's specific identity, their purpose in life. The theology and practical applications revealed in this episode are indispensable in our parenting and discipling our kids.   EPISODE LINKS:   Robby's Website: Trueface Robby's Podcast - Trueface: Beyond The Mask More about Robby Angle: Robby's Bio   BOOKS REFERENCED:   The Cure: What If God Isn't Who You Think He Is and Neither Are You by John Lynch, Bruce McNicol, and Bill Thrall The Cure for Parents by Lynch, McNicol, and Thrall The Practice of the Presence by Brother Lawrence Humility: The Journey Toward Holiness by Andrew Murray Living Fearless: Exchanging the Lies of the World for the Liberating Truth of God by Jamie Winship   WEBSITES REFERENCED:   The Giftedness Center – Discovering Your Giftedness: A Step by Step Guide Discover more Christian podcasts at lifeaudio.com and inquire about advertising opportunities at lifeaudio.com/contact-us.

Capstone exists as a values-based company focusing on exceptional people delivering exceptional care.   Mr. Henderson holds a Master's Degree in Community Counseling from Georgia State University and a Bachelor's degree in Educational Psychology from the University of Georgia.  He and his wife, Karen, have been happily married for 28 years and have three children, ages 27, 24, and 21.  Hugh and his family attend Perimeter Church in Johns Creek, where Mr. Henderson serves as an Elder.  When not fulfilling his career-long passion for hospice, Hugh enjoys spending time with his family, playing tennis, and watching college football (Go Dawgs!). WHAT IS A “CAPSTONE?”  In architectural terms, the capstone is the final fixture put in a place on any constructed edifice-- the “crowning achievement” so to speak of a building or, in the case of a hospice patient, a lifetime.  The capstone allows patients and families to put “the final stone” in place as a monument to the value and worth of the life lived by each hospice patient.   The word “capstone” is also a biblical reference found in the book of Psalms (118:22).  Such a reference emphasizes Capstone's values-based approach and our desire to have a positive impact on all we serve. If you're like me, you believe on some gut level that burying and ignoring your emotions isn't healthy - and the research continues to back that. A https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2011/03/110323105202.htm (study) from the University of Texas found that when we avoid our emotions, we're actually making them stronger — which can create serious implications for your body and mind, including depression, aggression, low self-esteem, and physical problems like headaches, insomnia, heart disease, intestinal problems.  Another thing to consider, is that opening up can go both ways.  We want to hold space for our sons and daughters, but when we're feeling off, we make a mistake, or have big feelings, it's also OK to share these with them in an age-appropriate way.  It's only by knowing our hardships and obstacles that our kids will understand how resilient, persistent, and courageous we are. _____ Getting your tween or teen to talk to you can be notoriously difficult. Hey Redesigners and welcome to another episode of Women Over 50 - A Life Redesigned. I am your host Shelly Drymon and this is the podcast where I have conversations with women over 50 who are in the world doing amazing things, and busting through the stereotypes of what it means to be a woman over 50 today. My guest today is Susan Haworth. Susan has been providing counseling, coaching and consulting for four decades with a host of clients and customers in a variety of settings on both the East and West Coasts. You can find out more about Susan and grab here book on her https://www.cambioscoaching.com/ (website. ) After receiving her B.A. in Psychology and M.Ed. in Community Counseling, Susan worked in mental health facilities in Atlanta, GA providing counseling to adult substance abusers and adolescents and their families.  Taking a sabbatical from direct service, Susan segued her career into managing social service programs. When the 80's hit, Susan headed back to school and earned an M.S. in Management which she parlayed into a corporate training and consulting business.  As the principal of her consulting practice, Susan provided communication skills training programs and individual coaching for Fortune 500 companies and their managers. Being in the epicenter of technology (the San Francisco Bay Area), Susan seized another opportunity to reinvent herself.  In 2017, she decided to go world-wide by providing coaching and consulting via Skype. Cambios (changes in Spanish) Coaching and Consulting seemed like the ideal moniker under which to operate. Changes are what Susan's life has been about as she moved from coast to coast; married, divorced and remarried; wrangled with single parenting and step-parenting; changed careers; made new friends and continues to turn things inside out. Thank you so much for joining me this week.
