Emily Bett Rickards (Arrow's Felicity Smoak) swung by the YVR Screen Scene Podcast to discuss one of the most wildly entertaining, audacious, and empowering films of this or any year, Queen of the Ring. Emily shines as Mildred “Millie” Burke, the legendary professional wrestler and single mom who defied incredible odds to become the first million-dollar female athlete and longest reigning champion at a time when the sport was banned across most of America. Queen of the Ring was written and directed by Ash Avildsen. The cast also includes Walter Goggins, Josh Lucas, Francesca Eastwood, Tyler Posey, and Marie Avgeropoulos. Queen of the Ring opens in Canada on April 4, including at VIFF Centre and the Rio Theatre in Vancouver, and Emily joined Sabrina Rani Furminger on the pod to talk about Mildred's commitment to intersectionality, muscularity, and femininity, what she learned about Millie by jacking up for the role, and the conversation she'd love to have with the late wrestling star. Bat Therapy: Psychology of Batman and other Comic Superheroes
Arrow is a show that really highlights the struggles of adjusting to life after trauma and the importance of social support to be able to have a life beyond that trauma. After all, who would Oliver Queen (and the Green Arrow) be without John Diggle and Felicity Smoak? We also explore when this version of Green Arrow goes from vigilante and anti-hero to superhero status.
Kellum gained his first major role in 2012 when he was cast in the FOX comedy Ben and Kate (then titled Ben Fox Is My Manny) playing the role of Tommy, the best friend of the titular character Ben (Nat Faxon).[7] Following Ben and Kate, Kellum was cast as Hunter in NBC's Sean Saves the World starring Sean Hayes and Megan Hilty. In 2015, Kellum was cast in the recurring role of Curtis Holt, based on the DC Comics character Mister Terrific, in the fourth season of The CW drama series Arrow.[8][9] Holt is a technological savant and inventor who initially works at Palmer Technologies under the supervision of Felicity Smoak, and later becomes a member of Team Arrow. Kellum also went on to portray the character in the Arrow spin-off series Legends of Tomorrow. In April 2016, it was announced that Kellum would be promoted to series regular for the fifth season of Arrow.[10] Kellum exited the series during its seventh season in 2019.[11] He returned for two episodes in Arrow's final season.[12] In 2017,[13] Kellum appeared in Netflix's Girlfriend's Day[14] as Madsen, beat poet and a co-worker of Bob Odenkirk's character.[15] Kellum voices the character "King Joaquín" on the Disney Channel animated series Elena of Avalor. He also voices multiple characters for the Adult Swim animated series Rick and Morty. In 2021, Kellum landed a role on the NBC series Grand Crew.

Barry reunites with Joe, but the two are interrupted by Darhk whose erasure is being delayed due to his Time Stone. Thawne attacks CCPD, but is stopped by Barry and Mia Queen, who has come searching for her brother William Clayton. Thawne asks Barry to save him from his own erasure and is taken to S.T.A.R. Labs. Despero returns and urges Barry to let Thawne die, but Joe convinces Barry and Iris to let him live. In response, Despero takes control of Mia and has her hold off Team Flash while he threatens to destroy Central City to take out Thawne. Iris and Cecile help Mia regain control while Barry deduces that Despero was the despot on Kalanor. With technology from Chester, Barry depowers Despero and sends him away. Barry then drains Thawne's speed to prevent his erasure and has him remanded to A.R.G.U.S. custody. During a celebration, Iris helps Mia with a lead on William and convinces her to visit Felicity Smoak for help. Darhk gives his Time Stone to Joe and bids farewell to his daughter Nora who appears in his place and is consoled by Joe. In CCPD, the timeline changes to show Bart and Nora in a photograph with Eddie Thawne from 2014.Advertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy

In this week's episode of The Flash Podcast, Andy, Tatiana, Breeze, and Lacy got together to review the two issues of Crisis on Infinite Earths: Paragons Rising, the tie-in comic to the 5-part Arrowverse crossover. Written by Marv Wolfman (who wrote the original Crisis comic!) and Arrowverse creator Marc Guggenheim, the two issues "Paragon Rising" and "Infinite Luthors" tell multiple stories during the game-changing crossover featuring additional CW characters across the Multiverse. Do the stories actually make sense and tie-in with what was seen on TV with the 5-hour event? Despite being said to be canon with the 5-part event, do the two issues fit in with what the characters went through on-screen? Find out why the hosts had mixed thoughts on the two stories and more on this week's The Flash Podcast - stay till the end, there is a post-credit scene! "Crisis on Infinite Earths" leaps from The CW's "Arrowverse" to this new collection starring fan-favorite character Felicity Smoak in a brand-new, Multiverse-spanning epic as she tries to locate the keys to the Anti-Monitor's plan! Plus, Lex Luthor teams up with a council of Luthors, but can they all play nicely to save the Multiverse? Czemu do niej wrócił? Więc cała gromadka trafia do celi. Przeskok do czasów współczesnych, kiedy to Oliver już jest Arrowem, gania za bandytami w Starling City. Czarny Kanarek dowiaduje się, że jej ojciec randkuje z matką ukochanej Oliviera. Bo superhero drama, I guess? Machine, a.k.a. Speedy przegrywa z Machine. Wszyscy wracają do Batjaskini… przepraszam, Arrowjaskini (Strzałskini?), gdzie omawiają swoje błędy i wyciągają wnioski. Thea zaprasza swojego chłopaka do domu Laurel (a.k.a. I dobrze. Kolejny przeskok w czasie. Flash i Arrow stoją nad nieznanym grobem. Smutają. Oliver wsiada do limuzyny, gdzie Felicity Smoak, jego ukochana, mówi mu, że ten musi zabić zabójcę! Mrok, tajemnica, nietoperze! Arrow appears to be limping into the homestretch with this little more than mediocre offering. Sure, it accomplishes some much needed plot developments, but at what cost? (Dinah Drakes ever-eroding character, apparently.) We talk our way through the episode and ultimately mourn only two more episodes with Felicity Smoak.

How important is Felicity Smoak to Arrow? From fans perspective, the show's perspective, the writers perspective, etc? The answer is VERY! That said, for an episode about Felicity Smoak we do spend a lot of time talking about Canaries. It'll all make sense why when you listen, we promise!
Cammien Ray teams up with a special guest this week: Harley aka Jessica! For Arrow's 150th episode, in addition to a special guest on Arrow Squad, we have tons of special guests on Arrow itself, as many familiar faces return from the past seven seasons as Team Arrow faces an unfamiliar foe. The 150th episode of “Arrow” showcases a documentary entitled “The Hood and the Rise of Vigilantism” starring Oliver Queen, Felicity Smoak, and the rest of Team Arrow. As a camera crew follows Oliver and team around to talk about their past as vigilantes and what the Green Arrow means to Star City, Oliver must also deal with William’s return from boarding school as well as a new threat to the city. The episode will feature “documentary footage” captured by the BTS crew and interviews from those who have worked alongside the Green Arrow. The documentary is narrated by Kelsey Grammer. The podcast has a very special guest, jewelry designer PeggiLi! Her creations have shown up in multiple television shows and movies, including, yep you guessed it, ARROW! Felicity Smoak herself has worn many earrings and necklaces crafted by Peggy herself and we got an exclusive with her to discuss how she got her start in the business, what drew her to Arrow, and what her opinions on season 7 storylines is.
The podcast gets shaken up when a guest, @LipstickandWifi, joins us to talk... FASHION! It's awards season and there's a lot of Golden Globes red carpet fashion to discuss and the girls also chat about their favorite Felicity Smoak looks throughout the seasons. Join us, it's a hoot!
Jen and Calli discuss Arrow 7x06, "Due Process". They have some things to say about Black Siren, John Diggle and, of course, how amazing Felicity Smoak's season 7 storyline is!
Martin "The Flash" and Cammien Ray are here with your season kickoff, chatting about all the news, casting announcements, upcoming storylines, new characters, and returning favs for season 7 of Arrow! Join us as we recap briefly where we left off last season, and look forward to what we expect or hope for in next season - including, but not limited to, Oliver Queen's prison shower fight and Felicity Smoak's pink hair. :) This spring Arrow will be airing on Mondays at 8pm ET. Our podcast episodes will be posted the following Wednesday, so we can accept email/voice feedback through Tuesday afternoon - and maybe an early Tuesday evening submission might make it in if you're quick. :)

In the promo, Dinah Drake, Curtis Holt and Rene Ramirez go on to form their own super team. However, this quickly leads to strife with Oliver's original team, who stands by his side. In addition to fighting James' team, Oliver will ultimately come to blows with his former recruits. The teaser also contains a few other surprising reveals, such as Oliver's daring rescue of his son William and William's trip to the bunker. https://www.cbr.com/arrow-season-6-midseason-trailer/ CW boss 'optimistic' that Arrow, Flash, Supergirl, and Legends will return (Date: 07 Jan 2018) Network president Mark Pedowitz is “optimistic” that Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, and DC's Legends of Tomorrow will return next season, he told EW at the Television Critics Association's winter press tour Sunday. “At the moment, it's a little too soon. We're noted for announcing at winter TCA that we're picking up shows, we just weren't ready to do that yet. A couple more weeks [and] we'll probably get around to it. I'm pretty confident we'll see them all back.” http://ew.com/tv/2018/01/07/arrow-flash-supergirl-legends-tomorrow-renewals/ Could The Huntress Return?(Date: 19 Jan 2018) When Oliver asked why Jerry couldn't just ask his cousin, Helena Bertinelli/Huntress (Jessica De Gouw) for help, Jerry remarked that she'd "gone underground." "I want to say, 'Absolutely,'" executive producer Marc Guggenheim said about Huntress' potential return. "Jessica De Gouw has expressed an absolute willingness to come back. Jessica's a favorite actor of mine, and the Huntress is a favorite character of mine. I want to make it happen in Season 6. We've got some plans for the later half of the year that I think she will fit into really well, so we'll see." http://comicbook.com/dc/2018/01/19/arrow-season-6-episode-10-the-huntress-helena-bertinelli/ GENERAL DC NEWS: Legends of Tomorrow adds Keiynan Lonsdale as series regular (Date: 19 Jan 2018) Welcome to the Waverider, Kid Flash! Following the departure of Franz Drameh and Victor Garber, Keiynan Lonsdale has joined the cast of DC's Legends of Tomorrow as a series regular, EW has learned. Executive producer Phil Klemmer said in a statement, “We loved working with Keiynan in our series premiere — the episode in which we learned that in between seasons 2 and 3 he had been fighting crime in Central City with Nick Zano's Nate Heywood. So when his character stepped away from Flash to go on walkabout, after being dumped and feeling somewhat estranged from his family and team, we knew that Wally West would fit in perfectly on Legends. After all, our show is about a collection of unlikely heroes who all began their journeys questioning who they are and where they belong — only to find those answers while traveling through time and having wacky adventures. So now, Wally West is not only back in the company of old friends from the Arrowverse, he's fighting alongside a former enemy and career arsonist Mick Rory/Dom Purcell. By the end of this season, Wally will learn that the Legends have a different definition of what it means to be a hero.” http://ew.com/tv/2018/01/19/legends-of-tomorrow-adds-keiynan-lonsdale-as-series-regular/ The Flash: Elongated Man's Super Costume Revealed in New Photo (Date: 17 Jan 2018) In the photo, Dibney sports a burgundy jacket with white accents. The jacket has a gauge on the left shoulder, not unlike the one worn by Firestorm. He also wears a pair of goggles, with black eye makeup underneath to obscure his face so that he won't be easily recognizable. The costume is likely of Cisco's design, since it will have to stretch and conform to Dibney's metahuman abilities. https://www.cbr.com/the-flash-elongated-man-costume-2/ Arrow Cast and Crew Interviews: Arrow's Echo Kellum Reveals Why the Stakes Are Higher Than Ever Before (Date: 18 Jan 2018) Speaking to CBR, Mr. Terrific himself Echo Kellum offered some insight into how Team Arrow's big split will affect his character moving forward. Fortunately for fans, the divide won't impact Curtis' happy-go-lucky attitude, though it will bring a lot of conflict into his relationship with his business partner Felicity Smoak. Kellum also teased his favorite scene from the midseason premiere, shared his hopes for Curtis' love life and explained why Cayden James' supervillain team will raise the stakes like never before. https://www.cbr.com/arrow-echo-kellum-divided-interview/ Arrow's Echo Kellum Talks The Importance of Black Superheroes (Date: 18 Jan 2018) "I think for myself and for Curtis, it is something we're both very proud of," Kellum told ComicBook.com. "I'm so proud and I feel so fortunate to get to portray a hero like this, an inclusive hero, you know, part of the LGBT community, a person of color who's a person of, you know, endless optimism and positivity. And it's a role that I love to play and as far as Curtis, I know he takes a lot of pride in that, too, you know? "I personally, I feel like, you know, what a time to be alive where, you know, I get to see so many people, I can be on TV, I get to portray that," he said. "I get to help people of color, people of the LGBTQIA community so like they can do it too. And for me, that was so important growing up” http://comicbook.com/dc/2018/01/19/arrow-black-lightning-echo-kellum-black-superheroes/ NEXT EPISODE Link to Promo: (Date: 18 Jan 2018) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SNXBYnNQjLU Episode: “We Fall” [Season 6 Episode 11] Air Date: Thursday, January 25, 2018 Summary: William gets caught in the cross hairs as Oliver attempts to stop Cayden James with just the original Team Arrow. We left that dangling deliberately in season five knowing that we would bring that character back in season 6. EW sat down with Ramsey on set to get the scoop. When asked if Diggle's stint as Green Arrow will last, Ramsey replied, "No. No, it's Green Arrow. Stephen Amell is Green Arrow. It's not going to last. Of course not, but I think it's very interesting and it's an interesting twist on how it fits into the ultimate theme of the season, I think it's very clever. I think it's an interesting detour. It also gives us some time with Oliver. I think it's great, and he has some great writing. Stuff is happening between him and Deathstroke, and he and his son and he and Felicity. It's awesome. I think holding it for the few episodes I have the mantle, that's the appropriate amount of time." http://ew.com/tv/2017/10/25/arrow-david-ramsey-diggle-green-arrow/ ARROW CAST AND CREW INTERVIEWS 'The Flash': "Girl's Night Out" Photos Offer First Look At KateeSackhoff As Amunet Black (Date: 28 Oct 2017) KateeSackhoff is coming to The Flash, and she's making bad look good. You guys are fun to listen to and your commentary on Arrow is a great supplement to the show. I liked the connection SP made over the summer between Legends and Timeless (I also loved that show). I'm loving this season of Arrow. Have you guys noticed how the relationship has evolved between Oliver and Quentin? I feel like he has become like a second father to Oliver. It's amazing how it's changed from antagonistic in season 1 to like family in season 5/6. Its kind of sad in a way because I feel like they are going to kill him off. Also I wanted to share this image of the Cincinnati museum center. If you go back to the crossover from last year and see the Hall of Justice, you can see that the attached image looks very familiar. I'm from Cincinnati and the museum center was the inspiration for the original hall of justice. During TVLine'sFall Preview Q&A with co-showrunner Wendy Mericle, it was confirmed that Emerson will be playing one of at least two main threats to Oliver Queen.[Text Wrapping Break]“This character that we're having [Michael] play is somewhat similar to people has has played in the past,” Mericle “But we had many conversations with him about how to make it different, and what elements we could bring to the character to change it up.” Whatever Emerson is now up to on Arrow, the bosses are loving what they're seeing. “He is a dream to work with, and I think he's doing an amazing job,” raves Mericle. “We've seen some dailies of some of his episodes and he's just fantastic. He's a really understated, subtle actor, and that brings a different energy on set. It's great.” https://tvline.com/2017/08/27/arrow-season-6-preview-michael-emersons-mystery-villain/ Ask Ausiello: Spoilers on The Flash, Grey's Anatomy, This Is Us, Scandal, Supernatural, Lucifer, Chi Fire and More (Date: 23 August 2017) Question: Any possibility of having an all-girls mission during Season 6 of Arrow? — “You know, we always talk about that — across all the shows. And it's totally possible,” Arrow boss Marc Guggenheim answers. “But truth be told, I wouldn't want to do it unless we could figure out a way to get Sara (played on Legends by CaityLotz) in there as well. One of my favorite episodes was 406, where we had Speedy, Black Canary and Canary all fighting side-by-side-by side together, and that was a blast. Seeing three badass women was really, really awesome. [An all-girls mission] is on our ‘bucket list,' but I really want to figure out a way to get Sara in there as well.” http://tvline.com/2017/08/23/this-is-us-season-2-spoilers-jack-kid-young-flashback/ New ArrowverseTrailer Teases A Flash/Legends Crossover (Date: 24 August 2017) The teaser blends footage from last season with new scenes from each of the four DC/CW shows - Supergirl, The Flash, DC's Legends of Tomorrow and Arrow. It shows Barry Allen and Iris West face to face in a strange, dreamlike sequence. We get a sense for what that other Flash, Wally West, might be up to once Barry is back in the saddle. In a short scene, Kid Flash and Citizen Steel are hanging out after a fight, with Nick Zano'sNate complaining to Wally that the speedster failed to leave him any bad guys to fight. http://comicbook.com/2017/08/25/new-arrowverse-trailer-teases-a-flash-legends-crossover/ GENERAL DC TV NEWS The Flash adds Katee Sackhoff as DC Comics villain (Date 21 August 2017) Katee Sackhoff has joined the cast of The Flash in a recurring role, EW has learned exclusively. The Battlestar Galactica alum will play DC Comics villain Amunet Black, a.k.a Blacksmith, a steely and badass boss of an underground black market for supervillains. Amunet uses every means possible, including the long list of metahumans under her thumb, to ensure her illicit enterprise thrives. The actress will first appear in episode 405, interestingly titled “Girls Night Out,” which also serves as a mini-crossover with Arrow: Emily Bett Rickards will also pop up during the hour. http://ew.com/tv/2017/08/21/flash-katee-sackhoff-amunet-season-4/ Supergirl boss: 'Maggie does not die' (Date: 25 August 2017) With Floriana Lima not returning to Supergirl as a series regular, the fate of the Alex-Maggie romance has been in question during the long hiatus, but now we have some definitive news. “Maggie does not die,” executive producer Andrew Kreisberg tells EW. “I'm sure a lot of people are afraid of that. Maggie will continue to exist in the world and we hope that if the opportunity presents itself for her, that she'll come back from time to time.” Floriana decided to move on from the show and will be written out. http://ew.com/tv/2017/08/25/supergirl-maggie-does-not-die/ EP Phil Klemmer Talks Legends Of Tomorrow Season 3 With DCLegendsTV (Date 21 August 2017) According to Klemmer, Jonah Hex has a chance of coming back to Legends. This season promises to be darker and more supernatural, which is where Darhk fits in. About Snart's return, he said, “It will be about as polar opposite as the Snart that he's played on our show. We've got a cool pitch to justify that version of him, which I don't want to give away. But it's going to be really traumatic for Mick Rory, because he has deified this version of his dead partner in his head, and in a way, Snart's return is his greatest wish come true, but the fact that he doesn't get the version that he's held in the back of his mind is deeply unsettling. Rory's made a lot of progress as well in the meantime, but he's certainly not ready to call himself a hero.” http://dclegendstv.com/2017/08/21/ep-phil-klemmer-talks-legends-of-tomorrow-season-3-with-dclegendstv/2/ The Massive DC Universe Animated Film Boxed Set Is Now Available To Order (Date 25 August 2017) The collection is an enormous Blu-ray boxed set that will include all 30 films released up until this point (that means everything but the upcoming Gotham by Gaslight) along with newly released commemorative editions of Wonder Woman and Justice League: The New Frontier as well as all five “DC Showcase” animated shorts – The Spectre, Green Arrow, Jonah Hex, Catwoman and Superman/Shazam: The Return of Black Adam. The DC Universe Original Movies: 10th Anniversary Collection is now available to pre-order on Amazon for $299.99. And might they do so at a party in anticipation of a certain wedding? — Here's what Flash EP Todd Helbing had to say about Ep 5: “It's really fun. The girls [including a visiting Felicity Smoak] go and have a night out in Central City alone, without the guys. And they get into some trouble.” And to the second part of your Q about the possibility of the outing being a bachelorette party for the potential future Mrs. West-Allen, Helbing responds with a laugh, “Possibly.” http://tvline.com/2017/08/23/this-is-us-season-2-spoilers-jack-kid-young-flashback/ Spoiler Room: Scoop on Grey's Anatomy, Supernatural, The Flash and more (Date 24 August 2017) Any more scoop on The Flash‘s girls night out? — That episode won't be the only girl power we'll be seeing this year. “We're definitely going to see Iris' relationship with Caitlin especially developed this season, which we haven't seen before, which will be really nice for fans,” Candice Patton tells me. “Fans have been wanting to see more female dynamic on the show, and there will definitely be that. They're working closely together. Caitlin has been through so much herself in relationships, and I think if anyone can offer advice, it would be her, so she's there quite often to give Iris advice on her relationship with Barry and how to move forward.” http://ew.com/tv/2017/08/24/spoiler-room-greys-anatomy-supernatural-flash/ Spoiler Room: Scoop on Grey's Anatomy, Supernatural, The Flash and more (Date 24 August 2017) SuperCorp scoop for Supergirl. — “Lena and Kara's friendship will continue to grow,” EP Andrew Kreisberg says. “There's a lot of Lena-Kara adventures early on in this season. The most interesting thing about Lena is that she is so good, and so moral, and believes in second chances, but she comes from this family of truly evil people. As people are going to realize over the course of this season, it doesn't take much to make you bad. People don't just turn evil. They do one small bad thing and then that leads to another, and then to another, and so any time you're watching Lena, you're always wondering, ‘Is this the moment when she does the one small thing?'” http://ew.com/tv/2017/08/24/spoiler-room-greys-anatomy-supernatural-flash/ Supergirl: Annable Offers New Clues About S3 Villain Reign (Date 25 August 2017) Reign will be a thorn in Supergirl's side during Season 3. At Comic-Con International in San Diego, Reign actress Odette Annable shared new details about her character. “Reign, as most of you know probably, she's a Worldkiller. She was bioengineered in a lab. She was sent from Krypton much like Kara and Clark, but her story is going to be different than any other villain that you've seen on Supergirl Seasons 1 and 2, mostly because she doesn't come to Earth to go on a killing spree,” Annable revealed. “She has a very specific agenda that she is out to do, and you will see that story unfold throughout the season. For me, it's really amazing because it's kind of a heartbreaking story and I think that you'll feel for her.” http://www.cbr.com/supergirl-season-3-reign/ NEXT EPISODE Link to Promo: (Date: 26 August 2017) http://comicbook.com/2017/08/26/vixen-animated-series-to-premiere-as-movie-on-the-cw/ Episode: Vixen: The Movie (Vixen Seasons 1 and 2) Air Date: CW SEED / Wednesday, August 30, 2017 Summary: Vixen is based on the DC Character Mari McCabe / Vixen, a costumed superhero crime-fighter with the power to mimic the abilities of any animal that has ever lived on Earth. Not many Prometheus and Ollie - round one Prometheus has skills; does cool special flip (Ollie recognizes it; he learned it from a woman in Russia) Wild Dog shoots weapon out of Prometheus's hand, but Artemis shoots his guns Prometheus disappears with Artemis Prometheus and Ollie - round two Action is cut with flashback from 4 years ago Prometheus has dead bodies posed just like how Ollie killed them Its super creepy and really helps to amp up the tension Fight up escalator (flashback) Prometheus able to escape; makes Billy Malone look and sound like him Similar to the Joker's hostages in The Dark Knight Flashbacks: Share your thoughts 4 years ago - Ollie as The Hood Killing people; The List Diggle knows Ollie is The Hood Ollie after Justin Claybourne, who manufactured weaponized TB in order to sell medicine for it Diggle warns Ollie that his actions could have unintended consequences Red pen! Felicity is awkward and cute when she helps Ollie find address (1852) Ollie: Has he learned after all this time? Brings team to first fight w/Prometheus Goes alone when find Prometheus again - why? Being confronted with past makes him act like that again - he kills Prometheus instead of putting an arrow in his knee Does he have to kill Prometheus? Confesses to team the truth First instinct is to push everyone away The expression on his face when he sees HER in the Arrowcave Diggle Active in flashback Leads group hug at end when Ollie wants to push everyone away Is called by Lyla to safe house Is taken in by soldiers Thea Feels as though the Dominators dream renewed her purpose Tells Ollie that we leave good and bad legacies Suits up as Speedy! Is this a onetime thing after the reveal of Artemis' betrayal? Felicity Awkwardly introduces Billy to friends; suggest double date w/Ollie Tells Billy not to investigate Prometheus; Billy does anyway because that's his job Billy sends her photo of baby - is looping her in on what he finds Blames Prometheus for Billy's death Quentin Lance Not in episode Curtis Has lied to husband Paul - doing a start up with Felicity Tells hubby the truth - Paul gives ultimatum Realizes being Mr. Terrific gives him purpose Paul leaves b/c can't see him go off every night and risk life Wild Dog “I don't like rules or listening” Does the opposite Ollie instructs (maybe Ollie pulls an “opposite day” move) Is he a father? Artemis Gives Rene, Rory, and Diggle stockings with their code names Says guys are her only family Betrays Oliver because city needs protecting from him Ragman Makes Flashpoint joke Figures out how to sequence DNA D.A. Adrian Chase Really wants Prometheus dealt with Puts kill order on Prometheus Susan Williams Ollie's date to the Christmas party Drinks Russian vodka Russian writing on the bottle is centered on screen, is this a hint? Tells Ollie shutting people out is not a good thing to do Has sexytimes with Ollie Laurel Is this due to Barry and Flashpoint? Or maybe due to Legends of Tomorrow where Sara revealed Damian's future so now he is travelling time to avert it. Bratva Not in episode Prometheus Leads? - A whole bunch At least 30 years old Justin Claybourne's son - ???? Seems too easy if this is the case Son not publicly known - mentioned in divorce papers Has studied Oliver for four years How does he(?) know that Ollie killed his father and studied fighting in Russia? When did he(?) find out all of this about Ollie? Is it Claybourne's son? Could it be someone else who just knows about what Ollie has done when he was The Hood and was working off of The List? Tied to The List He sounds like Michael Dorn to Chris (reddit seems to agree) Michelle's List O'Suspects: (I'm keeping this active until the mask comes off) Tommy Merlyn - Not likely now. In Ollie's Dementor vision as someone proud of Ollie New: Susan Williams - if the Claybourne son thing is a red herring; then it could be her; she is old enough, drinks Russian vodka, and has finally confirmed Ollie was in Russia. Maybe her real name isn't SW Robert Queen - too old? But is the author of The List. In Ollie's Dementor vision as someone proud of Ollie. New: It's actually Claybourne's son Adrian Chase (but more likely to become Vigilante) Billy Malone - dead Helena Bertinelli (but I would rather see her as either Huntress or head of the Bertinelli family) Isabel Rochev Mckenna Hall Shado - not Claybourne's child and not really connected to The List Slade Wilson - not tied to The List Talia al Ghul (see this week's news) New: Quentin Lance (likely a red herring) (in rehab) Roy - too young and in Ollie's Dementor vision as someone proud of Ollie; also, not really tied to The List Viktor (SP's add) - too old CURRENT EPISODE DC EASTER EGGS & POP CULTURE REFERENCES Season Episode “What We Leave Behind” (Date: 08 Dec 2016) Article: http://comicbook.com/2016/12/08/arrow-easter-eggs-and-things-you-might-have-missed-in-the-season/ JUDAS CONTRACT - A young, female team member who is recruited into Team Arrow and then seduced to the dark side and ends up becoming a sleeper agent for the villain is pretty much exactly the plot to the classic New Teen Titans storyline The Judas Contract. OLIVER'S CHRISTMAS MOVIES - According to Stephen Amell's recent Facebook Live video, he shares Oliver's favorite Christmas movie (Die Hard) and the "Its true!" he delivered after saying so in the episode was actually a Stephen Amell-ism, not Oliver Queen's. His second choice, It's a Wonderful Life, is an interesting one considering..."I was very lucky to be able to rewatch that movie last week."...which of course is not a thing that happened. He was subjected to a kind of custom-made It's a Wonderful Life, where the Dominators showed him a whole different timeline and how his life and the lives of those around him might be different if he had made different decisions. BIG BELLY BURGER - The mention is because the to-go bag for the DC Universe's favorite burger joint was the focus of a shot that hung on for a few seconds AND transitioned from the present day to the flashbacks. That's a lot of camera time for a fast food container. CLAYBOURNE - While Justin Claybourne's name did in fact appear on The List, we never saw him dealt with in season 1 and all of the scenes here that were calling back to the first year of the series were entirely new material. This, of course, opens up the question of whether we might see some more such stories in flashbacks for future episodes...! ALMOST EVERY WEDNESDAY - "People who are supposed to be dead turn out to be alive almost every Wednesday." Weirdly enough never during the summer or between mid-December and late January, though. THE HOOD - Oliver's season 1 costume, the kill list, the sets, the mission, his arguments with Diggle...this is what it was like when he was The Hood and not Green Arrow. THE RED PEN - The red pen is a nice callback to some of Felicity Smoak's earliest appearances, and that makes it worth breaking out to talk separately about "IT Girl Felicity," back when Oliver was still making up outlandish stories to get her help instead of just coming clean with her. AK DESMOND PHARMACEUTICAL - It seems worth noting, since Dr. Alchemy is such a big part of The Flash this season, that A.K. Desmond Pharmaceutical could plausibly be considered a wink-and-a-nod reference to Albert Desmond, a chemist who would go on to become Dr. Alchemy in the comics. Unlikely, but possible! MAKE THE CITY GREAT AGAIN - Obviously in his final moments, when Claybourne is trying to appeal to Oliver's ideas about "saving the city," he says that businesses like his can "make the city great again," which in the context of the last years' worth of public life feels suspiciously like a reference to Donald Trump's "make America great again" campaign slogan. ARROW NEWS: ARROW FANS HAVE ALREADY SEEN SEASON 5'S FINAL SCENE — OR HAVE THEY? (Date: 05 Dec 2016) Now that “Arrow” has reached season five and has no plans of slowing down, the plan has changed slightly. As Guggenheim said, “Spoiler alert. That's (Ollie's rescue from Lian Yu) going to end up being the Season 5 finale.” Season five's flashback story arc will still end by replaying the first moments of the series, but there's now much more show to come after that moment in season six and beyond. But just because fans saw how season five will end five years ago doesn't mean there aren't surprises still ahead at the end of this season. Guggenheim added that the creators have “some incredibly clear plans for what we want to do in the Season 5 finale,” but that they always leave wiggle room for surprises and cliffhangers. "For me, I like the idea of Felicity not defining herself through her relationship with a man," Ramsey told the crowd. "I like the idea that she can be her own person, and she can be strong and feminine, own the company, without pining over men — Oliver or any other man." Amell said that tonight's script was the first in a long time that legitimately shocked him when he turned the page to that reveal. He also said that he was skeptical at first of the idea of bringing another character back from the dead, but that they're now several episodes down the line in production and that he thinks the story that comes out of it is a good one. For the week of November 28, the CW was up 20% in total viewers versus the same week last year, up 15% in adults 18-49 (0.7 vs. 0.6) and up 16% in adults 18-34 (0.6 vs. 0.5), according to Nielsen stats. Supergirl had its most-watched (3.5M) episode of the season, and matched its season premiere ratings in both adults 18-34 (0.9/4) and adults 18-49 (1.1/4). The Flash saw its most-watched episode (4.15M) in almost two years (12/9/14) and its highest rated episode of the season. Arrow delivered the series' most watched (3.55M) and highest-rated episode since last season's crossover episode (12/2/15). And DC's Legends of Tomorrow had its most-watched episode ever (3.39M) and its highest-rated episode ever in adults 18-34 (1.0/5). More fun-loving prankster than straightforward villain, Mxyzptlk's fifth-dimensional technology appears as magic to three-dimensional beings; the limits of his powers are vast and unknown. Famously, he can only be stopped and returned to his home dimension by tricking him into saying his name backward (“Kltpzyxm”). The girl said she was suicidal because she's gay, and she didn't realize gay women could be happy until she saw the Alex Danvers coming out arc on Supergirl. To help the girl out through the hiatus, the employees suggested Batwoman: Elegy, Midnighter, and Gotham Central. The girl didn't have money for all of the titles, so the employee bought them for her. Link:http://www.newnownext.com/supergirl-lesbian-sanvers/12/2016/ Mark Hamill and John Wesley Shipp On the Biggest Surprises Reprising Their Roles on The Flash (Date: 06 Dec 2016) Interesting fact: Shipp starred in The Flash in 1990 and 1991, with Hamill as a recurring villain. While Hamill was filming Star Wars: The Force Awakens, a new TV version of The Flash was coming together. Three years later, against all odds, he and the producers have found a way for Hamill to make an appearance as James Jesse in each midseason finale so far. Link:http://comicbook.com/2016/12/07/mark-hamill-and-john-wesley-shipp-on-the-biggest-surprises-repri/ Supergirl Showrunners wanted to play with Shippers (Date: 3 Dec 2016) Producer Andrew Kreisberg revealed after a screening (h/t EW) that multiple moments with Kara were ultimately cut from the three episodes, including Sara asking out the Girl of Steel (and perhaps foreshadowing a future with Alex): There was a little exchange between Sara [Caity Lotz] and Kara [Melissa Benoist] that I really liked — I don't think we even filmed it — where Sara says, ‘Hey, do you want to get a drink when this is all over?' And Kara says, ‘I think you wanna meet my sister.' Just the idea of starting the Sara/Alex [Chyler Leigh] shippers going … Link:http://comicsalliance.com/supergirl-legends-crossover-deleted-scenes/ Fallout from the Superhero Crossover (Date: 3 Dec 2016) WILL SUPERGIRL VISIT EARTH-1 AGAIN? | Now that Kara has a way to communicate and travel across Earths, crossovers are certainly “easier” to execute, Kreisberg says. “The next time we do it, it means it doesn't necessarily have to be because Oliver and Barry need Kara; it could be because Kara needs them.” However, the EP notes that nothing is in the works, seeing as how “we just barely survived this one. So we're not too concerned with what we're going to try to do next year. But it just gives us another way to come at a story.” DOES THE WORLD KNOW ETs EXIST? | A line was cut for time, in which the G-man known as “Glasses” says, “‘Cover up what? A dozen weather satellites falling out of orbit?'” Guggenheim explains: “People see the ships, but no one ever really saw the Dominators. The way we're sort of playing it going forward is that Glasses is good at his job, and when he says he's going to cover it up, he's going to cover it up.” Adds Kreisberg: “There's a mention of it in The Flash, that the threat of aliens brought out all the crazies. But we're sort of Doctor Who-ing it.” Link:http://tvline.com/2016/12/01/legends-of-tomorrow-recap-season-2-episode-7-crossover-dominators-return/ GREEN ARROW COMICS & TOY NEWS X-MEN: GOLD AND BLUE ROSTERS AND CREATIVE TEAMS REVEALED (Date: 28 Nov 2016) X-Men: Gold will be written by Marc Guggenheim with art by Ardian Syaf. The phase-shifting Kitty Pryde at long-last will become an X-Men team leader, whose squad includes Storm, Colossus, Nightcrawler, Old Man Logan, and Rachel Grey. “Kitty is the right person to bring the X-Men into the future, to herald in the next era of the X-Men,” Guggenheim told us in a phone interview. “We are post the war with the Inhumans. The X-Men are sort of at a crossroads. They're at a point where they are trying to decide, is there a future for the X-Men? And Kitty is very much of the mindset that there is a future for the X-Men and it's a bright future.” Guggenheim is best known as co-showrunner and writer on The CW's Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow and previously worked on the adjectiveless X-Men book in 2014 featuring an all-female cast of characters. In the comics, Ted is one of three people who have gone by the name of Blue Beetle. A heroic legacy that started in 1940, Kord's version of the Blue Beetle was the most Green Arrow-like: an inventor and industrialist who didn't have any special powers but who did have a lot of tech, mostly Beetle-themed. It's rumored that he was supposed to be the character who eventually evolved into Ray Palmer, but DC had other plans for the character — widely believed to be the forthcoming Booster Gold movie. Tech Village - This not-quite-a-Best-Buy is the name of the store where Felicity Smoak worked at the beginning Arrow's third season. This may be the first time it's had an in-story reference in at least a full season that wasn't just a brief callback to "Felicity worked there once." It is also, due to Ray Palmer's attempts to recruit Felicity to work for him, a subsidiary of Palmer Tech. Palmer Tech - Of course, this is the company formerly owned by Ray Palmer, and then Felicity Smoak. Before that, it was Oliver's company, which he signed over to Ravager as part of Deathstroke's attack on Oliver and the city. It's unclear who owns it now — maybe it's just whichever stockholder has a plurality and nobody exciting at all — but after four years of the company being one of the most regularly-used sets on the show, this is the first time we've gone back this year. Amertek - Church took RPGs from Amertek? We weren't going to mention Amertek necessarily, since we just talked about it a couple of episodes ago, but it's definitely worth noting that in the comics, the company's most notorious weapon is a modified RPG colloquially called a Toastmaster, which was designed by John Henry Irons during his time working for Ametek. Cell 1138 - John's cell number is a nod to THX 1138, George Lucas's directorial debut. It's arguably better known among the average moviegoer for giving the first bit of its name to THX, Lucas's revolutionary sound system, but the film itself remains one of Lucas's best-reviewed works and a reminder that he did great work outside of just Star Wars and Indiana Jones. It's worth noting that at one point in the film, the title character THX and one of his fellow prisoners (SEN 5241) stage a jail break from a facility where most of the other inmates have no desire to leave — kind of like Diggle had no desire to leave at the start of the episode. Molecular Destabilizer - That spray, used to immediately and dramatically destabilize the molecules in anything it's sprayed on (how does it stay in the bottle?), feels like a nod to the universal solvent in the first arc of All-Star Squadron. In that story, a solvent designed by villain Dr. Zodiak was used to dissolve everything from walls to guns, and made the gimmick weapons used by a number of Justice Society of America members pretty useless. Callback - This one is kind of an odd mention, but it's interesting to note that Friedkin's comments to Oliver in jail -- "do you think you scare me more than him?" -- are echoed in the present day almost immediately by the man being interrogated by Adrian Chase. ARROW NEWS: Marc Guggenheim reveals the title of Arrow's 100th episode (Date: 23 Oct 2016) While Arrow takes its hundredth episode to celebrate the four-plus seasons that have come before, it also has to balance the needs of a four-show crossover that will bring Supergirl into The Flash, Arrow, and DC's Legends of Tomorrow. Guggenheim said, "Arrow episode 508 is called 'Invasion!' with the exclamation point. And Legends of Tomorrow 207 is going to be 'Invasion!'. I'll leave it up to you to guess what The Flash is called." Link:http://comicbook.com/2016/10/23/marc-guggenheim-reveals-the-title-of-arrows-100th-episode/ Is Tommy Merlyn really Prometheus? (Date:23 Oct 2016) The article discusses the possibility that Tommy Merlyn could be Prometheus. Tommy could be alive due to Flashpoint or Malcolm using the Lazarus pit. Since producers like Marc Guggenheim has said “Oliver bears a measure of responsibility for the creation of Prometheus,” longtime viewers are convinced the villain is more so connected to Oliver as a person than as a vigilante. Link:http://comicbook.com/2016/10/24/arrow-is-tommy-merlyn-really-prometheus-/ Stephen Amell posts bloody Arrow selfie (Date: xx month year) “Arrow” lead Stephen Amell has posted a bloody selfie indicating that he shot quite a violent scene over the weekend. Amell is sporting long locks and facial hair, indicating that this beating he takes will occur during one of “Arrow's” trademark flashback sequences. Link:http://www.cbr.com/stephen-amell-posts-bloody-arrow-selfie/ David Ramsey reveals how Diggle will respond to Flashpoint changes (Date:24 Oct 2016) Flashpoint changed Diggle's family. How will Diggle handle the revelation? "Much more compassionately than you might think," Ramsey said. "Diggle can't miss anything he's never had and 'Flashpoint' changes history -- it changes his history directly -- so he never can really miss Baby Sara anymore, because he never had her, but he is concerned about Barry. Barry's actions were reckless, and with all that power, being reckless -- to someone as disciplined as Diggle -- comes as a shock." Link:http://comicbook.com/2016/10/24/david-ramsey-reveals-how-diggle-will-respond-to-flashpoint-chang/ Arrow season 5 episode 10 title revealed (Date: 25 Oct 2016) Marc Guggenheim has taken to Twitter and finally revealed the title for Season Five's tenth episode. The tenth episode of Season Five is called “Who Are You?” Guggenheim informed fans that the episode was now in production under director's Gregory Smith guidance. Link:http://comicbook.com/2016/10/26/arrow-season-5-episode-10-title-revealed/ Arrow: Wild Dog, Artemis, & more weigh in on their character's pasts (Date: 26 Oct 2016) Wild Dog. Artemis. Ragman. Aside from their involvement in Team “Arrow,” fans know virtually nothing about Oliver Queen's new recruits — but that's about to change. Though the three “Arrow” stars were unable to offer too many details, Joe Dinicol, Madison McLaughlin and Rick Gonzales teased some new information about where their characters came from, why they became vigilantes and what affects their dynamic within the team. Link:http://www.cbr.com/arrow-wild-dog-artemis-more-weigh-in-on-their-characters-pasts/ Stephen Amell reveals how Arrow's hundredth episode begins (Date: 26 Oct 2016) “The hundredth episode of Arrow begins in a very appropriate way: it begins with Oliver running," Amell revealed. "We've had him running into the premiere almost every year, we didn't have him running in this year, but we have him running in the hundredth episode." Link:http://comicbook.com/2016/10/26/stephen-amell-reveals-how-arrows-hundredth-episode-begins/ Arrow's Stephen Amell talks Casey Jones/Wild Dog comparisons (Date: 26 Oct 2016) Amell has a sense of humor about Wild Dog being in a hockey mask like Casey Jones. "One of the producers asked me, 'Do you think this is too on the nose?' I was like, 'No, becuase why are we doing this show if we're not going to have fun with something like that?'" Link:http://comicbook.com/2016/10/25/arrows-stephen-amell-talks-casey-jones-wild-dog-comparisons/ The comic book history of the Vigilante (Date: 26 Oct 2016) The article focuses on the Adrian Chase story as that is the version currently popping up on Arrow. His origin was pretty straight forward. His role as a D.A. put him on someone's hit list and his family got killed because of it. By the second issue of the series, Chase was already questioning his choice of taking the law into his own hands. The character was a unique look into the side of vigilantism that doesn't normally get addressed in comics. We see the physical and legal ramifications and even some of the aspects of getting lost in the battle. Link:http://www.bleedingcool.com/2016/10/26/comic-book-history-vigilante/ Arrow: Is Adrian Chase the Vigilante already? Actor Jose Segarra weighs in (Date: 26 Oct 2016) In the season 5 premiere of Arrow, Felicity Smoak showed Oliver Queen an image of somebody wearing ski goggles. Supposedly a police artist's sketch of an anonymous vigilante working in Star City, Team Arrow haven't mentioned him again since -- although longtime comic book readers recognized him. The image was that of Adrian Chase -- better known as Vigilante. So if tonight is Vigilante's genesis, what's the deal with that police sketch? We asked Josh Segarra, who plays Chase, to clarify. "That's what I think is going to be interesting, is what parts of the comic are we going to get to put on the show?" He responded when ComicBook.com asked him about the police sketch. "I know the answer to that but the audience don't. But that's what been great is that we're trying to keep it as much as we can in that world, but also keep it exciting because I don't want any plot twists to be a thing where people are expecting something and don't get them.So I'm hoping that we get the right pieces along the way. So now I'm getting to tell that backstory and we get to tell the biggest pieces and get to show him becoming who he is before episode 7." Link:http://comicbook.com/2016/10/27/arrow-is-adrian-chase-the-vigilante-already-actor-josh-segarra-w/ How Deadshot's Surprise Cameo Came to Be (Date: 20 Oct 2016) Marc Guggenheim was asked how the surprise came to be and it's actually a pretty simple story. “It's always a case-by-case thing. In this case, it was really simple. I went to the writers' room, this was a pitch on the table, I shot an email off to [DC Comics CCO] Geoff Johns, I got a response back, and Deadshot's in the episode.” Link:https://www.cinemablend.com/television/1568149/how-arrows-surprise-suicide-squad-cameo-came-to-be People's Choice awards (Date: xx month year) Arrow, Flash, Supergirl, and Legends are on the list for best Sci-Fi/Fantasy show; Stephen Amell is up for Sci-Fi/Fantasy actor and social media star. You can choose up to five for each category. Can write in nominees. Starting November 15th, the voting process for the winners start. Link:http://www.peopleschoice.com/pca/ DC TV NEWS Flash, Supergirl join team Arrow in CW crossover pic (Date: 24 Oct 2016) A photo posted by “Arrow” actor Rick Gonzalez teased the team-up, which fans will see hit their TV sets in a month's time. The image shows “Arrow” characters Ragman (Joe Dinicol), Mister Terrific (Echo Kellum) and Wild Dog (Rick Gonzalez) standing alongside other series' leads the Flash (Grant Gustin) and Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) as well as director James Bamford. This year's crossover between CW's DC shows will begin in “Supergirl” on November 28 and continue through the week's DC shows, including “Flash” on November 29, “Arrow” on November 30 and “Legends of Tomorrow” on December 1. (Date: 23 Oct 2016) With the second season of DC's Legends of Tomorrow we've been introduced to a second woman wearing the Vixen costume. Maisie Richardson-Sellers plays Amaya Jiwe the grandmother of Mari McCabe (Megalyn Echikunwoke). Because “Supergirl” doesn't have bloody violence or sex scenes, pint-sized audiences can dig on the superhero genre, all the while watching a a female superhero who is worthy of their admiration. The show has a dreamy view of the world that encompasses diversity, fairness and empowerment. Crossover, and why she's excited Caitlin is single (Date: 25 Oct 2016) The Flash's Danielle Panabaker joined ComicBook.com to talk about how excited she was to get to be a part of the Arrow hundredth episode, which is part of said crossover. Neal McDonough — who plays the nefarious head of HIVE — has a recurring role on “DC's Legends of Tomorrow,” another series in The CW's “Arrow”-verse, and there he may just find himself on the side of the angels. Asked if there was any way Darhk could be redeemed, McDonough said, “Just had that conversation. Yes. There is one way that we can redeem him.” As to whether or not we'll see that sometime soon, he added, “At some point, you will.” Link:http://www.cbr.com/arrowverse-will-offer-damien-darhk-a-chance-for-redemption/ NEXT EPISODE Promo for Next Week: Episode - “Human Target” (Date: 26 Oct 2016) Article:http://comicbook.com/2016/10/26/arrow-season-5-episode-5-human-target-sneak-preview/ Episode: “Human Target” [Season 5 Episode 5] Air Date: Wednesday, November 2, 2016 Summary: When Tobias Church captures and tortures one of Oliver's new recruits, Oliver must turn to an old friend, Christopher Chance AKA the Human Target, for help. When last we left Oliver Queen, he had renounced his status as the Starling City viglante known as the Arrow, and moved on to a new life with Felicity Smoak. Newly resurrected Thea stayed behind with Laurel and Diggle to carry on the work of Team Arrow, and Malcolm Merlyn was settling into his new role as Ra's Al Ghul: Leader of the League if Assassins! What new challenges await Ollie now that he's retired? Will he stay retired for long? Well, no. Of course not. With a new moniker and a new, deadly villain (Damien Darhk) to defeat, Oliver must rebuild the relationships he destroyed as heir to the demon's throne, as well as keep the relationships he's nurtured from becoming so much ash. And of course, there's also that Flash/Arrow crossover and the build up to DC's Legends of Tomorrow to worry about...
