Following the Qumran biblical Zadokite Priests and the calendar system they inherited is an essential function of what it means for us to Hear and Do the Torah. Through their teachings, left to us through the Dead Sea Scrolls, we can know precisely WHEN to observe the festivals of the Bible and the biblical observances that are controlled and mapped to specific days and months of the year, times and seasons that cannot and must not be changed. Everything about the inherited Zadokite priestly calendar dates and times as they relate to the festivals and the setting of the weekly Sabbath is accurately plotted based on the yearly arrival of what is called New Year's Day; that is, Month 1 and Day 1 of the royal calendar of Heaven, hereinafter called, the Zadokite Calendar, which by the way, is different from what is known to be the “360-day Enoch Calendar,” the 354-day Lunar Calendar, or the 365 ¼ day Solar Calendar. New Year's Day, on the Zadokite Calendar, is based on establishing Day 1 and Month 1 as with any other calendar of the world's material cultures. Nonetheless, believers in Yeshua, the Messiah, and the biblical texts that He taught and lived by all are hinged on asking, WHEN IS NEW YEARS DAY? If we get this wrong, then everything else downstream is directly affected. Based on the testimony of Exodus chapter 12:2, among many places, it is actually New Year's Day, according to the Bible. So, to correctly determine New Year's Day in the Bible, we must come to know WHEN to proclaim this very special day in any given year. This is because all the yearly festivals and the weekly Sabbaths written about in the Bible are strictly mapped to the events of Day 4 from the Genesis Creation story. This is according to the testimony of the Zadokite Priests of the Qumran, as they wrote about all this in their Calendrical Documents of what is called the Dead Sea Scrolls. Let's get into it and find out how to determine when to define the all-important New Year's Day that is, Day 1 and Month 1, in any given year. See www.gospelworthdyingfor.com and DOWNLOAD their free 2025/26 Zadokite 12-month calendar.

Why Do Jews Follow the Lunar Calendar Hachodesh For some time, Jews followed the ‘regular' solar calendar that everyone followed and which was synced to their agricultural practices, only to then receive a mitzvah to a establish a new -lunar- calendar; something which seemed hardly helpful. Several Asian countries celebrate the annual Ghost Festival, which is also referred to as either “Zhongyuan Festival” or Yulanpen Festival盂兰盆节. The festival finds it origins in Buddhism, Taoism and Chinese folk beliefs. Ever since ancient times, Chinese people had the ritual of paying tribute to their ancestors in the middle of the seventh month on the night of the full moon.Taoist doctrine holds that the three basic elements that generate everything in the universe are heaven, earth and water, namely sanyuan or “three elements". The official of heaven brings blessings during Shangyuan (Lantern Festival). The official of earth absolves sins during Zhongyuan Festival, while the official of water dispels disasters during Xiayuan Festival. 自古以来,每年农历七月半满月的晚上,人们有祭拜先祖的习俗。道教将宇宙中万物归为三类:天,地,水,又叫做三元,并以三元配三官,说天官赐福,地官赦罪,水官解厄。上元天官正月十五日生,对应的是上元节(元宵节);中元地官七月十五日生,对应的是中元节(鬼节);下元水官十月十五日生,对应的是下元节(比较不受重视,没有小名)。 Pay tribute to one's ancestors 祭祖Bring blessing 赐福 Absolve sins 赦罪Dispel disaster 解厄

Gerard Bertrand, founder & owner of his eponymous wine label, joins us today to teach us about Biodynamic principles, the Lunar Calendar, and his new orange wine, 'Orange Gold.' What is a 'Fruit Day?' The lunar calendar has been used in farming for centuries, but recently people have noted the moon's effect on wine tasting. According to the lunar calendar, every day is either a 'Fruit,' 'Root,' 'Flower,' or 'Leaf' day. 'Fruit' days are the most auspicious days to drink most wines, while white aromatic wines really seem to sing on a “flower day.” The idea behind root days, fruit days, leaf days, and flower days was inspired by Rudolf Steiner, an Austrian philosopher who defined biodynamic farming for the 20th century. Gerard Bertrand embraces biodynamic farming in his vineyards and is a huge advocate for the process. OK, but what is 'Orange' wine? Gerard explains it like this: "We have two kinds of grapes in the world -- we have white grapes and red grapes. When you make rosé, you use red grapes and you use the winemaking process of white wines. When you make orange wines, you use white grapes, but use the winemaking process of red wines." 'Orange' wines are white grapes left to macerate on their skins for extended times, the same way we make red wine. What makes Orange Gold special: Gerard and his team are paying tribute to the first 'Orange' wine styles of Georgia, over 4,500 years ago, but with an emphasis on freshness. It is an exceptional blend of seven grape varieties, Chardonnay, Chenin and Viognier add volume and Roussanne, Grenache Blanc and Muscat enrich the aromatic complexity of the wine. Pairs perfectly with cheese platters. Gerard's Organic and Biodynamic vineyards are helping catch thousands of pounds of carbon waste per acre. If 1% of all vineyards on the planet were biodynamic, we'd catch enough carbon to slow global warming to a halt! The period between New Moon and Full Moon in Simha Maasa (approximately in September)for 15 days is named as Mahalaya Paksha. Lunar Calendar of Hindus divides a month with reference to the waxing and waning of the Moon, into two.(for details on Hindu/Indian Calculation of Time' please read my Blog'TIME-Non-Linear Theory, filed in Astrophysics). The waxing period is called Sukla Paksha(Sukla in Sanskrit means White, here indicates the waxing of the Moon),ending in Full Moon, Pounima, also called Pournamasya. The waning period is called Krishna Paksha( Krishna means Black),culminating in New Moon called Amavasya. Each Paksha has 14 Days ,one Amavasya and one Pournima makes a Month. One is expected to perform the duties due to the Departed daily, that is do Tharppana daily. This applies all Castes, Brahmana,Kshatriya ,Vaisya and Sudra. We have conveniently omitted to follow the Sastras, by saying that the Srardha and Tharppana are to be performed only by Brahmins . Sastras declare that there is no atonement for failing to perform the Tharppana and Srardha. Of all the curses, Piru Saapa (curse), along with Sumangali Saapa (curse by women who expired when husbands are alive) are the Deadliest. Those who perform these Karmas will be blessed with Children, Grand Children. Wealth;will be free of chronic diseases, irritating circumstances and inexplicable problems in the family. If the ancestors Bless us( we are here because of them), God follows suit. If parents curse us,(which a parent rarely does) , even God will let us down. https://ramanisblog.in/2011/09/13/mahalaya-amavasyatharpana-explained/ --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/ramanispodcast/message

The Dragon Boat Festival was the first Chinese festival inscribed onto UNESCO's List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2009. It is observed on the Fifth day of the fifth month on China's traditional Lunar Calendar. Some century- old customs are still observed during the festival today, such as the dragon boat race, diverse folk art performances, and eating zongzi— a type of glutinous rice dumpling warped in leafs. Today, the director and chief conductor of the prestigious China National Traditional Orchestra Zhao Cong and Liu Sha will share some music that reflect those traditions.
After a long pause, I am back for a catch-up and serving up some updates on the current cosmic weather. Amidst Eclipse season, there is a heightened sensitivity since we are navigating many things that are now obscured. For this reason, it is a time when we are having to move slowly, be patient, and use this energy to pause before rushing into change. In this period of surrender and trusting the flow, I share some insights that have been floating to the surface and some higher truths that I have been navigating that I believe will also resonate with many.About twenty minutes into the episode, dive back into some exclusive and un-aired content from my conversation with Bess Matassa on retrograded and how to use these periods to reflect, retreat and emerge with greater understanding about the inner working of our psyche.Check also:Bess' Numinous Cosmic GuideBook a Reading with meGet your Downloadable 6 month Astro Report Download the 2022 Lunar Calendar and track all the key cosmic phases Connect with me on Instagram and TikTok for more magic content See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

The Mid-Autumn Festival is the 2nd most important festival to the Chinese Community worldwide. It is celebrated in gratitude for a bountiful harvest back in China in the midst of Autumn which falls on the 15thday of the 8th month in the Lunar Calendar. As per the Chinese lunar calendar, the 15th day of each month is the time when the moon is at its brightest and fullest. The Chinese community is the 2nd largest community here in Malaysia. And though this festival is not celebrated with as much gaiety as the Chinese New Year, nevertheless it's importance and significance is certainly no less important. This festival is also popularly known as the Lantern Festival and also Mooncake Festival. There are plenty of legends and myths surrounding on how mooncakes originated. 1st story- very mythical – these are where fairy tales are made · Tyrannical king – who didn't really take care of his subjects. As he is always · On the lookout for a longevity elixir so that he can continue his rule which he finally got. · But wife wasn't' in favor of his deeds and didn't want him to have it the elixir. Because the longer he is in power, the more his subjects will suffer. · Stole elixir. · When the king discovered that it was stolen by her, he tried to shoot her with an arrow as she ran towards the direction of the moon. · This was happening on the 15th day of the 8th month · She managed to escape and she became the spirit of the moon · Remembered by subjects – on this 15thday/8th month – in form of mooncakes 2nd story- this sounds more logical · Chinese history – only 2 times Dynasty ruled by Non-Chinese – Mongols (Yuan) Manchurians (Qing- last Dynasty) · Yuan Dynasty- Mongols ruled China · The Han Chinese was oppressed and heavily guarded · Coordinated an uprising by sending messages inside the fillings of mooncakes · On designated date, all the Han Chinese united and overthrew the Mongols · Ending the Yuan Dynasty · Mooncakes eaten to remember and celebrate the occasion At least a month before the actual day, companies would be aggressively marketing their moon cakes speciality either focusing on the fillings inside the mooncakes or their unique package that comes together with it. So whereever you are, if there is a substantial Chinese community there, look out for these mooncakes promotions. If you have not tasted any of them, take this opportunity to give your taste buds a new adventure. Share your experience with me and also how the mooncakes are promoted at your location. I would love to hear about it! Oops: I need to make a correction- the date of the Mid-Autumn Festival falls on Sept 21 and not 24th.My sincere apologies for the slipup Taking this opportunity to wish all of you a Happy Mid-Autumn Festival- a time of reunions, of togetherness and a time of Harmony. So I feel a bit mine, in my blood, (I was born in Naples - the glorious Greek Neapolis), which is a puzzle of various Mediterranean cultures, the issue of global cultural decolonization. Times change, violent and racist attitudes are to be condemned, but the drive to assert one's identity is legitimate. The kindness revolution is done with books, knowledge and love. The Net gives me the possibility to confront with preparation and awareness many different cultures and spiritualities. In this video I visit Lương Như Học Street in Ho Chi Minh City's District 5 for their annual Lantern Street for Mid Autumn Festival In Vietnam. This is a great way to take part in the festival as most of this 4000 year-old celebration is centered around the family gathering. District 5 is one of my favorite places to wander in Saigon. It's filled with alleys full of character and heritage. Old Chinese style shophouses, colonial and art deco architecture along with modern Vietnamese architecture of the 19 1960's can all be admired here along with some of the busiest wholesale markets in Ho Chi Minh City. Lương Như Học Street is in the heart of District 5, I'll leave a Google Maps link below. The lantern street starts about 2 weeks prior to the Mid-Autumn Festival, 15th day of the 8th month of the Lunar Calendar every year. In this talk, Kelly Snook will provide a guided tour through the exquisite beauty of the Badí Calendar, which is followed by Baha'is around the world. She will explain in simple terms the daily, monthly, yearly, and even less frequent astronomical events that anchor the calendar to the physics of our local solar system. This Calendar, believed to be the first to be revealed by a Divine Messenger, was laid out by The Báb in the mid-19th Century and adopted fully by Baha'is worldwide in 2015. It is uniquely tied to both solar and lunar movements, such as the northern vernal equinox and new moon conjunction. Have you ever felt a little fuzzy on why the dates of the Gregorian calendar shift with respect to the dates of Baha'i Holy Days and other days of interest? Or what the equinox is and why it is a good marker of time? Or why the Lunar Calendar is so different from solar calendars like our modern standard calendar, which has leap years to stay aligned with the sun? Kelly hopes to make it all not just a little less confusing, but hopefully generate genuine appreciation for its beauty and perfection by bringing in the music of the spheres and demonstrating how the Calendar directly manifests God's principles of Oneness and Harmony. Dr Kelly Snook was trained in Aeronautics and Astronautics, as well as in music. She is now creating a new field of research, called "Investigative Music" that is partially a return to Johannes Kepler's time, when music was used as one of the four tools for exploring the world. Arithmetic, geometry, astronomy and music comprised the Quadrivium, the four modes of scientific inquiry. Before science as we knew it existed, these were the ways that the physical world was investigated. Arithmetic, the study of number; geometry, the study of number in space; music, the study of number in time; and astronomy, the study of number in space and time. When Johannes Kepler discovered his three laws of planetary motion, it was through the application of musical principles of harmony and spiritual principles of oneness that emerged the mathematical equations he will forever be famous for. Calendars are essentially the application of our astronomical understanding of space and time to the collective patterns of human activity. Kelly seeks to make audible and explorable these fundamental patterns in Nature.

Year of the Ox, Year of the Vax Narrated by: Dominic Silman, Data Strategist and Brian Klinksiek, Head of European Research and Global Portfolio Strategies February 12th marks the beginning of the Year of the Ox in the Lunar Calendar. In Chinese culture, Oxen are known for diligence, dependability, and determination. These are traits we will all need to rely on in the coming months while vaccine deployment proceeds at an ox-like pace. As we enter February, the depths of winter in the northern hemisphere, the pandemic shadow is once again darkening much of Europe and North America, and a weary populace may be forgiven a dream of spring. In economics, dreams like this are referred to as “rational expectations” since current views of future conditions underpin human behaviour in markets and society at large. Rational expectations theory plays an important role in understanding many macro-economic situations. How might this approach apply to the pandemic and epidemiological data? Although we are not experts in virology, we would like to share our analysis of pandemic data that points toward connections to economies and property markets.

We begin in the beginning with an origin story as told by Rabbi Manis Friedman. His telling casts Eve as the heroine of the story; the one who intuits the mind of God and sees the arc of history. What happens when an age-old story is told with new light? What stories do you think need to be told anew?--Additional Notes, Corrections, and Context for this Episode--La Fool said Hanukkah and Christmas started on the same day during the Obama administration in 2015. Although Chanukkah and Christmas occasionally share common days, it's more rare that Christmas starts precisely on the first night of Hanukkah. The last time that occurred was in 2005.Speaking of holiday mashups, Thanksgivukkah occurred in 2013 and will not happen again for thousands of generations. A fascinating lecture that begins by talking about the importance of calendars to humankind, how every society, every culture or tribe has one and how they represent templates for order. Serena goes on to describe in detail the nature of the Celtic lunar calendar and the wheel of the year. Has our modern Gregorian calendar become an artificial template in terms of representing our relationship with the Earth and wider cosmos? The Wessex Research Group archive contains those lectures that have been digitised and are freely downloadable as a personal educational resource. https://www.wessexresearchgroup.org
lunatic:['luːnətɪk] adj. The Mid-Autumn Festival represents the reunion of families. 2. This is Pastor Bill and over the next 10 minutes, or so, we are going to be talking about April Fool's Day. April first, in most cultures around the world, is known as April Fools Day. All the articles I've read about the origins of April Fool's Day claim that its origins are steeped in mystery, they also put stock in a theory that attributes the tradition to the transition from the Julian to the Gregorian calendar as dictated at The Council of Trent in the mid-1500's. Those who then continued to follow the Julian calendar celebrating New Year's Day on April first became the butt of the joke for those who now celebrated New Years Day on January first. With only a few spare moments and the rudimentary research skills taught to high schoolers, you can easily debunk this theory and its claims. First off, there are references to April Fools Day as far back as the 1300's, some 200 years before the council of Trent. Second, the Julian calendar instituted in BC 45 by Julius Caesar starts its New Year on the 1st of January with a few pagan sects recognizing the beginning of Spring as the beginning of the New Year despite what the calendar dictated. To understand where I'm going here, let's look at some history surrounding The Roman Empire and the Christian faith. There's little debate as to whether the Roman Empire crucified a man they called Jesus in or around 33 AD. It's historical fact that the followers of that man then exploded in number and were subsequently hunted down and mercilessly slaughtered anywhere they were found by the Jewish authority of the day. It's well known that the Jewish people follow the Lunar Calendar that celebrates New Years day on or around April 1st, and the Christian Church inherited this calendar. In 64 AD Roman Emperor Nero outlawed Christianity and proceeded to persecute, torture, and execute Christians in the slowest, most horrible ways he could imagine. Roman persecution of Christians continued for almost the next two-hundred and fifty years until Christianity was declared legal in the Roman Empire. Ten years later, in 323 AD, Christianity was declared the official religion of the Roman Empire. What isn't well cataloged is how the Roman Empire dealt with the cognitive dissidence between the Lunar Calendar followed by the Christian church and the Julian Calendar followed by the Empire. What we do know is that when the Catholic Church commenced the Council of Trent in response to the reformation sparked by Martin Luther, one of the things they did was to introduce the Gregorian Calendar. This new calendar fixed discrepancies with the Julian Calendar that the Catholic Church found unacceptable, as well as boosted their authority that was being challenged by The Reformation. There's this story told in circles when studying the early church about the origins of April Fool's Day, see if it sounds familiar. When Christianity became the official religion of the Roman Empire the Christian Church adopted the Julian calendar and began recognizing January 1st as New Year's Day, there were holdouts who continued to follow the calendar they always had and celebrated the New Year on April 1st. It was an important day to believers in that not only was April 1st the beginning of the Lunar Calendar year, but the early church celebrated this time of year as the time of Jesus' birth as well as his death and resurrection. They were called fools for still observing New Years Day on April 1st and others played pranks on them. If you're a regular to The Berean Manifesto then this should go without saying, but I'm going to say it for those listening or reading who don't know. The platform of The Berean Manifesto is to present teaching, primarily Biblical, from my personal point of view. It is then the responsibility of the listener or reader, not to blindly take my word, but to seek out evidence, preferably Biblical, on their own to decide for themselves what they believe. Therefore, as we pivot for the rest of this episode, I will not be qualifying statements like, “in my opinion,” or, “it's been my experience,” or anything else along those lines since that sentiment is implied. For decades there has been this running argument, that its participants want to call a debate, on whether there is a God. He wouldn't be much of a God if He needed me to defend His existence, so I refrain from wasting my time in that manner. On the one side of the argument, you have Christian apologists and the other atheists. There are two types of atheist. The first is the one who says that for lack of evidence they aren't sure there is a God. They're agnostic, like Thomas, they have trouble believing without quantifiable evidence. The second type is someone who truly believes there is no God; the fool. I'm not calling them a fool, the Bible calls them a fool, Psalms 14:1a CSB says, “The fool says in his heart, ‘There's no God.” I'm pretty sure people like this don't actually exist anyway, or at least I've never found one, and Proverbs 23:9 CSB advises, “Don't speak to a fool, for he will despise the insight of your words.” So, we're not really going to concern ourselves with that category. And my advice when encountering agnostics is to love and when possible to love extravagantly. In closing, I want to invite everyone to join me in transforming April Fool's Day into a new Christian holiday. A day of prayer and fasting where we bring before God our friends, family, neighbors, and coworkers who need a Thomas moment with God. Saul got one on the road to Damascus. Pastor Robert Morris of Gateway Church had one in a roadside motel. Jesus is still moving in mighty ways on the Earth and we, His people, will humble ourselves and cry out for the lost together. Starting at 12AM April 1st in The Independent State of Samoa through 12AM April 2nd on the island of Niue we will celebrate the first annual Global Day of Fasting and Prayer. Head on over to Google to search when that starts and ends in your local time. For instance, 12AM April 1st in The Independent State of Somoa here in North Texas where I live, is 5AM March 31st and goes through 6AM April 2nd my time. Join me for 49 hours of petitioning God to move on the hearts of an unbelieving world. This is Pastor Bill saying, “Until next time…”
The Tales of Terror continue amidst a brand new year in the Chinese or Lunar Calendar. A family holiday in Taiwan takes a twisted turn. A nurse recounts the first haunted hospital encounter of the year. And a familiar festive tune turns into an anthem of horror. Best enjoyed in bed with the lights off.
Apart from the Gregorian calendar, the Chinese also observe our own lunar calendar. How does it work and what does it mean to the Chinese?
Last season we dedicated an entire episode (#40) to living Under the Moon Cycle and during that episode, Tonya vowed to try some intention setting, manifesting and just basic emotional tracking according to the cycle of the moon. In this weeks episode the ladies revisit the moon cycle and go over Tonya’s personal findings to try and answer the question: “Does it work?” Connecting with nature is so important and connecting with the moon cycle is just one of the many ways in which we sync with nature in profound ways. Self-study, connecting with nature, and setting conscious intentions and goals is what this episode is about. Give us a listen and leave a review.
In this week's episode we explore the upcoming Taurus Full Moon, reflect on the effects of the current Scorpio Season and navigate the best way to move through it. Ghost Festival Day-Praying For The Hungry Ghosts-Saigon Vietnam Throughout East Asia and Southeast Asia during the 7th month of the Lunar Calendar it's believed that the gates of hell are opened so as to allow ghosts to wander the earth for the month. These ghosts are said to have experienced a particularly bad death, or do not have anyone praying for them in the after life. Followers of Buddhism and Taoism as well as others who believe in the presence of these ghosts will put out offerings of food and drink, as well as money. Prayers are also offered so the ghosts will not create mischief or havoc during the month. There are many superstitions that surround the ghost month including not getting married, starting a business or going on vacation. The most important day is the full moon day which is considered Ghost Festival Day falling on the 15 day of the 7th month of the Lunar Calendar. In Vietnam this also coincides with Vu Lan which is like a Mother's Day. People also go to the temple to prayer for the mothers but usually prayer for fathers as well as the rest of the family. If you spot someone wearing a red rose it means their mother or parents are still alive. If you see them wearing a white rose it means the mother or father is deceased. If you want to see any of these rituals when visiting Saigon the Ba Thien Hau Pagoda in District 5 is a good place to visit as well as other temples in this district. Hoi An, Hue, and Hanoi would also be great places to see the rituals surrounding this month or day when visiting Vietnam.

On this week's episode, we begin (1:45) by discussing a few of the incredibly diverse, occasionally bizarre festivals that coincide with specific dates on the lunar calendar throughout Vietnam. Everyone knows about Tet and the Mid-Autumn Festival, but there are so many more beyond those two. Then (18:42), we talk about some of the awkward questions, often about relationships, young people get asked by family members when they visit for the holidays. Why do these get asked? Should we have sympathy for the people asking them? As always, we close with Bánh Mì Banter (32:01). Programming note: there won't be a new episode next week.

Please Help Support Cider Chat Please donate today. Help keep the chat thriving! We begin this chat with Eric Bordelet in the Pear Orchard…He lead us into a large green field with low grass. We look out in the distance and see 35 foot high trees ahead. The trees are laden with fruit. The background music is the sound of pears dropping to the ground. This is Part 2 of a two part chat with Eric. Listen to Part 1 here. There is a skip in his step as he walks towards the each giant of a tree, picking up fallen pears as he goes along to hold for a moment and feel it stage of ripening. The girth of some of the largest pear trees are much too wide for me to circle with only two arms. If a knight in full armor came riding into the field on his way to Paris, I would not have been surprised. It is as if we drank the tea and fell into the rabbit hole rolling back time. Soon Eric is pointing out the grafts on some of the oldest trees and my sense of normal is thrown even further off balance. Unlike the 200 year old apple trees I've seen in New England back in the USA, the graft lines on these pear trees are at least 4 feet high. It is as if the tree was sawed off and then perhaps a cleft graft was used. There is a visible graft line as if the root stock of an ancient pear tree was sawn off and then the new pear tree grafts where attached. We then move on to Chateau de Hauteville where Eric is rebuilding the castle on this site. After a tour in the Castle, we walk down to the cidery and touch upon BioDynamic Farming.
