Join Ian Croll, Chris Beesley, and Paul Wheelock on the Royal Blue podcast as they dissect a massive 3-2 victory over Newcastle United at St James' Park—a result that catapults David Moyes' men right back into the thick of the European race. In this episode, the lads break down how Everton's setup and disciplined approach nullified the Magpies and secured a well-deserved three points on the road. Is Beto Back? The lads look at the striker's goal-scoring performance and what it means for his confidence heading into the run-in. Was that Jordan Pickford save, "Save of the Season". The lads have a reaction to that jaw-dropping Jordan Pickford stop to deny Sandro Tonali in the dying seconds. And Dwight McNeil's Return: The trio analyse the impact of McNeil's return to the starting XI and his role in the Blues' attacking fluency. While the Blues are flying on their travels, the focus now shifts back to the Hill Dickinson Stadium for Tuesday night's clash against Burnley. With Everton currently winless in their last seven on home soil, the panel asks: Is this the night the rot finally stops? I greet you in Jesus' precious name! It is Saturday morning, the 28th of February, 2026, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today. We start in the Old Testament, Numbers 11:18:“Who will give us meat to eat? For it was well with us in Egypt.” The complaining Children of Israel, short memories! They forgot about the slave-drivers, how they were beaten, working 18 hours a day, 7 days a week. No, they wanted to go back to Egypt. There is no future in the past. I want you to remember that, my dear friend. So then we go to the Gospel of John 21:3. Simon Peter said to them, “I am going fishing.” We have got such short memories. We forget from where we have come. Yes, things are tough. I will be the last one to tell you that they are easy. We are struggling in every area: politically, economically, spiritually, and in our work situation, but there is no going back for you and me. Isn't it an amazing thing (well, I can only speak for myself), you always seem to remember “the good old days” but you don't remember the bad old days. Folks, I want to tell you, as believers we have got the most glorious future waiting for us. When we go home, we are going to be with Jesus Christ because He has promised us that if we serve Him faithfully and believe, we will never die.Do you remember what it was like when we didn't know Christ? We used to get so depressed, didn't we? Because there was no future. We didn't know where we were going. We had no guarantee of anything and yet we, now and again, hanker for the old days. They weren't such good old days, were they? Be honest, because we didn't sleep very well at night. No, because we didn't know what was going to happen in the future. We need to look forward. We need to keep going. Peter and the disciples went fishing. They caught nothing the whole night until Jesus, in the morning, told them to become fishers of men, to keep the calling, keep the vision, keep going forward, and God will go with us. We are not going back to Egypt. There is nothing there for you and me, so today push those shoulders back, lift up that head and say, “It doesn't matter how tough it is, I am going forward because I am homeward bound.”Jesus bless you and have a wonderful day.Goodbye.

EXCLUSIVE NordVPN Deal ➼ https://nordvpn.com/efc Try it risk-free now with a 30-day money-back guarantee With a trip to the North East on the horizon, Ian Croll and Gavin Buckland sit down to preview Everton's upcoming clash against Newcastle United at St James' Park. After a frustrating narrow defeat to Manchester United at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, the Blues are looking to rediscover their clinical away form against Eddie Howe's Magpies. On Today's Show: David Moyes held his pre-match press conference this morning. The lads "pick the bones" out of the manager's comments, discussing the latest team news—including the return of Jake O'Brien from suspension and the ongoing absence of Jack Grealish. Selection Dilemmas: Ian and Gavin dive into the usual team selection debate. Does Moyes stick with the side that showed "signs of progress" on Monday, or is it time for a tactical shake-up to handle Newcastle's high intensity? The Long-Term Future: With the Blues currently sitting 9th in the table but enduring a winless run at the new stadium, the guys discuss the long-term future of David Moyes. Is he the man to lead Everton into a consistent European charge? Predictions: We wrap up with our score predictions. Can the Toffees replicate last season's final-day heroics at St James' Park? I greet you in Jesus' precious name! It is Friday morning, the 27th of February, 2026, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today. We start in the Old Testament, Jeremiah 20:9:“But His word was in my heart like a burning fireShut up in my bones;I was weary of holding it back,And I could not.”Then we go to the Gospel of John 1:45:“Philip found Nathanael and said to him, “We have found Him of whom Moses in the law, and also the prophets, wrote—Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.” Once you have heard the good news, once you have met the Man from Galilee, you can't keep it quiet, can you? You can't keep it to yourself. You have to tell people, “We have found the Lord.” I mean folks, they say that a new christian should be locked up for the first six months because he is like a bull in a china shop. He wants to tell everybody about what he has found. Oh, but there is something so beautiful about it, isn't it? It is like sitting around a warm fire on a cold night, being next to a young man or a young woman who has, for the first time in their lives, found the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Saviour. James Hudson Taylor took the Gospel to China, and when he had been there for some time and led some converts to Christ, he went back to England to get more missionaries to come out and help him. When he came back, a young Chinese man spoke to him. He said, “How long have you had the Gospel of Jesus Christ in Britain?” And he said, “For thousands of years”, and then he asked the question, he said “Why did it take you so long to come and tell us? My old dad searched for the truth all his life. He studied Confucius. He studied many of the gods, and he never found Him. He died as an unbeliever. Why did you take so long?”I want to say to you today my dear friends, somebody out there is just waiting to hear the good news about who Jesus is. Please don't waste time. Tell them.God bless you have a wonderful day.Goodbye.
I greet you in Jesus' precious name! It is Thursday morning, the 26th of February, 2026, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today. We start in the Book of Numbers 11:16: “So the Lord said to Moses: “Gather to Me seventy men of the elders of Israel, whom you know to be the elders of the people and officers over them;…” Then we go straight to the Gospel of Mark 6:7: “And He called the twelve to Himself, and began to send them out two by two,…” Moses realised he just could not cope anymore. He was directing a whole nation of people in the wilderness and he had no help. He was doing it on his own, and the people were getting restless and complaining, “We need meat to eat. In Egypt, we had meat and fish and melons and all those things, and now we have nothing.” Moses was beside himself. You can read it in Numbers, just a few verses before. He said, “Rather kill me. I can't do this anymore.” And God said to him, “Call seventy men, good men, leaders, and I will anoint them, and they will help you to take the nation of Israel through the wilderness and into the promised land. Then we see Jesus, when he was sending the disciples out to preach the Gospel and heal the sick and set the captives free, he sent them out two by two, not one at a time, two by two. There are no lone-rangers in the Kingdom of God, no one-man shows. Why did He send them out two by two? I will tell you why - so that they could protect one another and there was accountability so the devil could not tempt them. I want to say to you, I will not go anywhere to preach the Gospel on my own. We go in a group. You know that if you know me. Why is that? So that we can watch over one another, help one another, pray with one another, protect one another. It's how God made us.I remember speaking to a young man. I love him dearly. He is a great preacher. He was on his way to Ethiopia, just for the weekend to speak at a conference. I said, “Who is going with you?” “No, no”, he said, “It is a short trip. I am going on my own.” And I had to speak to him firmly, and I trust that he has listened. I said, “Don't do that.” Do not go anywhere on your own when you are doing God's work. You need to go two by two so that you can look after each other. Not only preachers, I am talking to ladies here as well as young people. When you go out, you do not go on your own. God never created us to do that. We go together and in that is the comfort and the love and the peace of God.Jesus bless you and have a wonderful day.Goodbye.

Royal Blue: Everton's home form frustrations continue EXCLUSIVE NordVPN Deal ➼ https://nordvpn.com/efc Try it risk-free now with a 30-day money-back guarantee A frustrating night under the lights at the Hill Dickinson Stadium saw Everton fall to a narrow 1-0 defeat against Manchester United. Despite a spirited display, Benjamin Šeško's second-half strike was enough to condemn the Blues to their seventh consecutive home game without a win—an alarming trend that is threatening to derail a promising campaign. Host Ian Croll is joined by Chris Beesley to pick through the bones of another difficult outing on the waterfront. While the Toffees remarkably remain in 9th place and firmly in the hunt for European qualification, the mood among the Goodison faithful—now settled into their new home—is beginning to sour. I greet you in Jesus' precious name! It is Wednesday morning, the 25th February, 2026, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today. We go to the Gospel of Mark 13:34: “…and to each his work, and commanded the doorkeeper to watch.” The Lord was talking about the man who went away and told each of his workers to do their work. Now I read something interesting from an unknown writer. This is what it says: “He does the most for God's great world who does the best in his own little world.” Maybe you are thinking today, “What do I contribute to God's kingdom? Nobody knows who I am. What is the point of my being alive?” Oh my dear friend, to everyone his own work for the Lord. I want to tell you a little story. My mom's brother was a Chief Engineer in the Merchant Navy during the Second World War. Now, the Merchant Navy had no way of defending itself against the enemy. They had no way of fighting back. What was their job? To bring food to Britain, because Britain was an island, and they had to bring food from America and Canada and all over, and they had no way. Those boats were so old and so rickety that they travelled so slowly that they were sitting ducks for the enemy. Now, my uncle was a Chief Engineer, so he never, ever came to the top when there was an alarm that there were submarines in the water. He had to stay under the water level with all his men and keep the engines going, because if the engines stopped, the boat would sink. No-one saw him. They all saw the Captain. The Captain was on the bridge. He was at the top, he was directing operations. Everyone saw the Captain, but no one saw the Engineer. They were under the water level.I want to tell you that God sees every single thing that you do. Maybe nobody else sees, but you don't want anybody else to see, do you? Because you want to get your reward when you get home to Heaven. So do your little bit. Do not despise small beginnings. Jesus Christ knows exactly what you are doing, and He loves you, and He is so proud of you. Remember, without the engine room that ship is going nowhere. Maybe that is your job. Keep the engine room going - intercessors, prayer warriors, workers in the background, because we love you very much.Jesus bless you and have a wonderful day.Goodbye.

I greet you in Jesus' precious name! It is Tuesday morning, the 24th of February, 2026, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today. We go to the Gospel of John 20:25. Thomas said: “Unless I see in His hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and put my hand into His side, I will not believe.” Folks, there is nothing worse than doubting. We need to stop doubting and we need to start believing. They talk about Thomas being the doubting Thomas but I want to say to you that Thomas eventually believed. Eight days later, the Lord came and stood in the midst of them and He said to Thomas, ”Thomas, put your finger here and look at my hands and reach your hand here and put it into my side and do not be unbelieving but believing.” Verse 28 - the Bible tells us that when Thomas saw this, he said, ”My Lord and my God.” Thomas did eventually believe and he believed so much that he went to India to preach the Gospel and there he was martyred. I want to say something to you. It is better to have doubted and then believe, than to have never believed at all. Of course, once you see, then you don't need faith, do you? But to believe, having not seen Jesus, is a wonderful thing and that's what Jesus said to Thomas, ”There will be those who come after you who have never seen me and yet believe.”It is so sad for me when people are determined not to believe the word of God. There is more evidence that Jesus Christ walked on this earth than there is that Julius Caesar existed. Why is it that our hearts become so hardened? I want to say to you today, you really need to believe by faith. I want to pray for you because I believe there are some people who are listening to this thought for the day every morning, but you still don't believe. Now please, if you want more faith to believe that Jesus Christ not only is alive, not only is He the saviour of the world, but that He's coming back soon, pray this prayer after me: Dear Lord Jesus, please forgive me for doubting You. Lord, when I look around and I see the devastation in the world, I find it hard to believe, but today I choose by faith to believe that You, Jesus Christ, are the Son of the living God. Amen.God bless you and have a wonderful day.Goodbye.

I greet you in Jesus' precious name! It is Monday morning, the 23rd of February, 2026, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today. We start in the Old Testament, in the Book of Numbers 11:1: ‘Now when the people complained, it displeased the Lord; for the Lord heard it, and His anger was aroused. So the fire of the Lord burned among them and consumed some in the outskirts of the camp.' God does not enjoy it when we are moaning all the time. Rather, let us call upon the Lord. If we look at Jeremiah 33:3: “Call to Me, and I will answer you”, He says, “and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.” Rather, ask the Lord and stop moaning. Then we go to the Gospel of Luke 9:54: “And when His disciples James and John saw this, they said, “Lord, do You want us to command fire to come down from heaven and consume them, just as Elijah did?” And of course, the Lord said no. He did not come to destroy men's lives. He came to save them.We really need to watch what we say. We have so much, don't we? And yet we tend to complain and moan. Stop moaning. Rather, bring your petitions to the Lord and ask Him, through the power of the Holy Spirit, to help you, and He will. So let us today decide to stop moaning. There is nothing worse than when you wake up in the morning and your loved one, your husband or your wife, turns over and you say, “Good morning, my darling, I love you”, and then they start to moan. Man, it takes the joy of the Lord out of it, doesn't it?Let's start saying things which are up-building and uplifting. If you have nothing good to say about someone, rather don't say anything at all. Remember, Jesus Christ came to save the lost. Pray for those who are complaining, that they will see that the Lord is for them, and not against them.Jesus bless you and have a full day of praising His name,Goodbye.

I greet you in Jesus' precious name! It is Saturday morning, the 21st of February, 2026, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today. We start in the Book of Proverbs 27:1: ”Do not boast about tomorrow, For you do not know what a day may bring forth.” Then we go straight to the Gospel of Luke 12:19. This is a parable that Jesus told about a foolish farmer who had a bumper crop and was bragging about how he was going to build another barn to hold his crop and then he was going to eat, drink and be merry. Listen to the story: ”And I will say to my soul, “Soul, you have many goods laid up for many years; take your ease (take it easy); eat, drink, and be merry.” But God said to him, ‘Fool! This night your soul will be required of you; then whose will those things be which you have provided?' Luke 12:19-20Carpe Diem - that is a Latin phrase. It means “seize the day”, make the most of the present. I read a beautiful little quotation from a man of God. It says, ”The only preparation for tomorrow is the right use of today.” Think about that. We need to start living for today and stop always talking about tomorrow because we don't have tomorrow, we only have today.I had a very dear friend, he used to farm right next door to me and early in the morning we would stop our pickups, get out and we'd have a little chat across the fence, and Alan used to say to me, “Angus, take time out to smell the roses”, and it brings a tear to my eye. Alan was a huge man, and he met Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Saviour. Alan is no longer with us, he has already gone home to be with the Lord, but he used to caution me, ”Stop running around so much Angus. You're flying off here, you're going off to that place, you're going there. Take time out to smell the roses and do it with your wife.”I want to say to the men today, when was the last time you smelled the roses with your dear wife? Take note, because tomorrow is not ours, we only have today. Seize the day! Jesus bless you and have a wonderful day. Goodbye.

I greet you in Jesus' precious name! It is Thursday morning, the 19th of February, 2026, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today. We start in the Book of Isaiah 43:1. The Lord says: “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; You are Mine.”We serve a personal God. He is not just the God or the Creator of 8 Billion people, He knows you by name, and will prove that to you if you go to John 20:16: This was Jesus now after the resurrection when Mary Magdalene went down to the tomb to find the Lord's body and of course it wasn't there, and then she thought the gardener was there. She didn't recognise the Lord. She thought it was the gardener, and she wanted to know, “What have you done with the body of my Lord?' Listen to this: “Jesus said to her, “Mary!”She turned and said to Him, “Rabboni!” (which is to say, Teacher).” She recognised Him when He called her by her name. A person's name - it is so important. I remember when I was a little boy, my dad would come out and say, “Angus”, just once, and I knew exactly who it was, and I knew it was time to come in, no arguments. What about you today? Do you know His name? Is He personal to you? Is He a friend to you, who sticks closer than a brother? Oh my dear friend, if there is one thing I am looking forward to, it is the day I go home to be with Jesus in Heaven, and I want to hear Him say, “Angus, well done, good and faithful servant, come and enter into thy fullness!” That is what I want. I just want to hear my name called by the Creator of Heaven and Earth. What a privilege!Names are so important. I have done many, many weddings. When I was younger, I had the privilege of marrying off three of my own children, and the beautiful thing is, after you have said the vows and the ring has been put on the finger then I love to just stand there saying, “Ladies and Gentlemen, I now want to introduce you to Mr and Mrs…..and then you can put, “Joseph” or whatever the man's name is, and I tell you what, I always like to look at the face of that young bride. She now has his name, and then I see his face and he now has his beautiful wife.Don't forget the importance of names. Try and remember people's names. It means so much to them.Jesus bless you and have a wonderful day.Goodbye.
I greet you in Jesus' precious name! It is Wednesday morning, the 18th of February, 2026, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today. We go to the Gospel of Matthew 27:57-58: “Now when evening had come, there came a rich man from Arimathea, named Joseph, who himself had also become a disciple of Jesus. This man went to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus. Then Pilate commanded the body to be given to him.” I want to speak to you today about being doers of the word. Today is a special day today in our lives! My wife, Jill and I and our family, on this day, 47 years ago, we bowed the knee, and we gave our lives to Jesus Christ, a wonderful day for us. We were in a little church in the Main Street of Greytown, the little town which is 15 kms away from the farm, but that day, the minister didn't preach, there were laymen and women preaching the Gospel, just like Joseph of Arimathea. He wasn't a priest - no, he was a businessman, and that day we saw businessmen, housewives, builders, mechanics come forward and tell the congregation what Christ had done for them, and for the first time in my life I saw tears running down their faces. Our marriage was in a mess, and we came to Jesus and He restored us. My relationship with my children was shattered, and we came to Jesus, and He changed our lives. After we had finished, it was a wonderful sermon. I didn't see any shots of lightning, I didn't hear any thunder, but I knew in my heart that I had given my life to Christ. We came home, Jill and I, and sat in the garden to have a cup of tea together, a car rolled up and out came an electrician, and he said, “I was in the service today, and I saw that you went forward and gave your lives to Christ. I said, “Yes, I did.” He said, “I want to challenge you to tell the first three people you meet and tell them what you did today”. I said, “I will,” and I did the next day. On the way to a stock sale, myself and Ian Walls, I said, “Ian, something happened to me yesterday.” He said, “What?” I said, “I gave my life to Christ.” That was the beginning of my work for Jesus Christ which I have never stopped since then. What about you? When was the last time you told a person that you gave your life to Christ? Maybe you say, “Angus, I never have. I have always loved God but I have never had the opportunity. Why don't you do it now? Pray this prayer after me:Dear Lord Jesus,Just like Joseph of Arimathea, I am an ordinary working man and today I surrender my life to You. I give You everything.Forgive me for my sinful life, but from today and onwards, I want to put You first and foremost in my life. In Jesus name, amen.God bless you, and go out and tell the first three people that you meet. Goodbye.

I greet you in Jesus' precious name! It is Tuesday morning, the 17th of February, 2026, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today. We go to the Book of Numbers 9:23: ”At the commandment of the Lord they rested in the tents, and at the commandment of the Lord they journeyed…” Then we go to the Gospel of Mark 6:31: ”And He said to them ”Come aside by yourselves to a deserted place and rest a while.” For there were many coming and going, and they did not even have time to eat.” I think the Lord is speaking to somebody very specifically today and saying, ”It is time to come aside and rest. You don't even have time to eat.”Timing is so very important in life. There's a time that you must work, and you must work very hard, and there's a time that you must rest, and you must rest correctly. The children of Israel in the wilderness were told by the Lord, you see, when the cloud moved, they packed up all their tents and they followed the cloud. When the cloud stopped, they stopped, and they set up camp. This happened night and day. Remember a pillar of fire by night and a cloud by day, and that is how they lived for forty years. Now I want to tell you about South Africa's all-time champion marathon runner, Bruce Fordyce. Bruce Fordyce won the gruelling Comrades Marathon no less than nine times consecutively, and why was that? It was all because of timing. I used to love watching him on television, when they all started, all the youngsters were sprinting out of the blocks as they say, and Bruce Fordyce was nowhere to be seen, and then slowly but surely, as the race carried on the young men started falling out, one after the other. I always remember Bruce Fordyce running at his own speed and looking at his watch. He was running according to his time, not according to what everybody else was doing, and he paced himself so perfectly that he won that race consistently. Now we need to take a leaf out of his book. If you and I are going to finish strong for the Lord Jesus Christ, we really need to be sure that we are resting and that we are working, but we need to do it God's way.Jesus bless you and have a wonderful day.Goodbye.

Former guest and longtime friend John Amodeo joins Allen and Thom to advocate “gentle presence” 9 making ourselves available to the full range of what we're experiencing in the moment, whether pleasure and pain. People are afraid of their emotions - “If I start crying, when will I stop?” The greater danger, in our experience, is the suppression of emotion. We also touch on processing failure and mistakes, cautioning against blame. When we get stuck in blame, we don't learn and grow from our experiences. I greet you in Jesus' precious name! It is Monday morning, the 16th of February, 2026, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today. We go to the Book of Numbers 8:14: ”Thus you shall separate the Levites from among the children of Israel, and the Levites shall be Mine.” Then we go straight to the Gospel of Luke 6:22 (Amplified Version): ”Blessed [morally courageous and spiritually alive with life-joy in God's goodness] are you when people hate you, and exclude you [from their fellowship], and insult you, and scorn your name as evil because of [your association with] the Son of Man.” Wow, now that is quite something to think about! The Lord says, ”You are blessed when people don't like you because of your stand for Me.” In fact, if you look at verse 23, He says, “Jump for joy because of your reward that you are going to get in heaven.”Now, this morning, I particularly want to dedicate this little message to the young people. I'm talking about school children, I'm talking about university students, I'm talking about young people who are starting out in life, because some of you are taking a lot of strain, I know that, because you are not sleeping around with other people, you are not drugging and drinking, you are not blaspheming. You are not telling filthy stories, and you are not involved with pornography, so the people, the crowd, think that there's something wrong with you. Oh, no - there is nothing wrong with you. The Lord Jesus Christ has separated you unto Himself. He set you aside. He said, ”I've got a special work for you to do. You are very special to me. Keep yourself pure. I have your husband for you. I have your wife for you. You must be patient.” You say, ”How long must we wait, Uncle Angus?” As long as it takes because those other people that seem to be in the flavour of the month, they are going to fall horribly short, and when they do they are coming to you for help.Make yourself strong! Spend time with the Lord, and He has got a very specific and exciting life for you. That goes for all of us, by the way, but the older people have already been through the mill and we have been identified. They don't want us around them because we are salty and we upset their party as it were. So don't be upset because you are lonely, Jesus understands that, but He is a friend who sticks closer than any brother!Jesus bless you and have a wonderful day.Goodbye.
Welcome to episode 127 of The Journey Is the Reward! On this episode, Brian and Micah are joined by Carlos, the founder of Plane Talking UK, for a deep dive into the world of aviation podcasting from a UK perspective. Before the guys get to the main event, they start with some essential ground handling from listener Marc. He checks in to discuss the legendary durability of Kirkland Signature luggage and gives us the lowdown on the new location for Geno's Steaks in Hampton, Virginia—a destination definitely worth the detour. The conversation then moves to the airport lounge, as listener Tonya writes in about the perks of buying an annual Priority Pass membership. It's a savvy move for anyone who wants the VIP treatment without being forced to carry a credit card with a "heavy-lift" annual fee. We also tackle a question from listener Lu regarding the ever-expanding world of Basic Economy. Lu wants to know if Micah and Brian would ever actually book one of those "no-frills" seats, and Carlos chimes in with his two pounds of thought, noting how the fare wars look a bit different across the pond.In the spirit of the season, Brian celebrates a successful delivery of Dubai chocolate for Christmas, while another listener proposes a massive trip to India for 2027. We want to know if you're ready to join the crew, so please write in and let us know if you'd be interested in a listener trip to the subcontinent! Brian@TheJourneyIsTheReward.ORG.Finally, the boys sit down with Carlos to celebrate a milestone that's definitely cleared for departure: the 600th episode of PTUK. Micah and Brian reminisce about attending the 200th and 400th shows, but sadly, Brian has a "maintenance day" for this particular milestone. Because of Momma Coleman's 91st birthday party, Brian will be staying local—after all, family always gets priority boarding. And as always, our ears are blessed by the utterly soul-stirring, goosebump-inducing sounds of the Madalitso Youth Choir! Their Welcome and Goodbye songs, recorded straight from the Royal Livingston Hotel in Zambia, are pure magic.
What happens when a young upright bike racer makes the switch to recumbents? In this episode of the Laidback Bike Report, we're joined by Matthew Lefthand. For Matthew, the transition wasn't just about finding a more comfortable seat—it was about finding a new way to satisfy his competitive drive and improve his longevity on the circuit.Matthew takes us through his evolution from overweight couch potato to the world of upright bike ultra racing and now to discovering the speed and efficiency of recumbents. We discuss the learning curve of racing in a new position, the gear that keeps him competitive, and how the recumbent community has embraced his racing spirit. In this interview, we specifically dive into:How Matthew's professional background in psychology helps him persevere. His decision to lose weight and get active again. Why he started biking and his early experiences in ultra racing. How he was introduced to Cruzbike and its racing culture. The technical and physical differences between racing upright vs. laid back. His advice for other competitive cyclists considering the switch. If you've ever wondered if you can still "go fast" after making the move to a recumbent, Matthew's journey is the perfect proof that the finish line looks just as good from a recumbent seat.Stay Connected:
I greet you in Jesus' precious name! It is Sunday morning, the 15th of February, 2026, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today. We start in the Gospel of Mark 15:37,”And Jesus cried out with a loud voice, and breathed His last.” Then we go to John 19:30:”So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit.” Mission accomplished. The job is done. What an amazing Saviour we have! He didn't stop halfway. He didn't say to His Father in the Garden of Gethsemane, ”Lord, I can't do this.” No, he finished the job. You and I must finish what we have started. You know an unfinished job is very ugly, like a half-built building. Rather don't start than stop halfway through. I looked up how long it took for King Solomon to build the first temple. It took approximately seven years and he finished it. What about the second temple? That took almost twenty to twenty-one years to build. We really need to work hard and finish what we have started.Michelangelo, that wonderful artist, when he painted the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel, it took him four years, folks. He had to build his own scaffold. Can you imagine climbing up there? It is very, very high, and then he did it upside down, but he finished that work of art for the glory of God.That young student who's thinking of dropping out of university, don't do it, finish your degree. That marriage that you are working through, ”Angus, we just can't get it right.” Ask God to help you. Philippians 1:6 says:”being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ;” When you start something, you must finish. It's no good saying you started, rather don't start. Finish the job!Jesus bless you and have a wonderful day.Goodbye.

The Royal Blue Podcast: The Hill Dickinson Hangover and the January Gamble EXCLUSIVE NordVPN Deal ➼ https://nordvpn.com/efc Try it risk-free now with a 30-day money-back guarantee In the latest episode of the Royal Blue Podcast, Ian Croll is joined by Chris Beesley and Gavin Buckland to dissect a frustrating week for Everton Football Club. The panel starts with the "final word" on Tuesday night's 2-1 collapse against Bournemouth. After leading through an Iliman Ndiaye penalty, how did the Blues allow the game to slip away in just four minutes? The lads discuss the costly misses from Thierno Barry and the late red card for Jake O'Brien that summed up a miserable night at the waterfront. Also on the agenda: Everton's January Transfer Strategy. With the transfer window closed and only Tyrique George arriving on loan, the trio explores Everton's strategy. Was the lack of signings a calculated risk or a missed opportunity that will haunt the club's European ambitions? The lads turn to home form in a broader sense: Why has Hill Dickinson Stadium become so hospitable to visitors? We look into the alarming home form and the growing concerns regarding the atmosphere, debating whether it's the stadium design, the scheduling, or simply the performances on the pitch. And finally, David Moyes is back under the microscope. Is he being stubborn or systematic? The panel questions his recent team selections—specifically the persistence of playing players out of positions when other options are available. Is Moyes being stubborn to a fault Chris Beesley's Book: Spirit of the Blues: https://tinyurl.com/35yrkvdb *Emotional farewell to Goodison Park | 16-page Everton souvenir picture special:* https://shop.regionalnewspapers.co.uk/liverpool-echo-monday-19th-may-2025-4583-p.asp *Goodbye to Goodison special souvenir edition:* https://tinyurl.com/GoodbyeGoodisonSouvenir *Gavin Buckland's Book 'The End' | Order your copy here:* https://tinyurl.com/GavinBucklandTheEnd Everton FC podcasts from the Liverpool ECHO's Royal Blue YouTube channel. Goodbye football. Hello baseball. ️ On this week's Bleed Los Podcast, Drea and Anthony officially turn the page to baseball season after a dull Super Bowl and a dominating Seahawks win. We talk halftime show moments, whether Super Bowl commercials are overrated now, and why 135 million viewers still can't compete with October baseball energy. Then it's all Dodgers. The promotion schedule dropped and the Dodgers are giving away 24 bobbleheads. Will the Clayton Kershaw weekend turn into something bigger? Why wait on a number retirement? Which giveaways stand out most? And why are they stacking championship merch the same weekend the Giants are in town? We also dive into: • The wild Caribbean Series final where Los Charros walked it off 12-11 after back-to-back wild pitches • Spring Training officially here — pitchers and catchers reporting • The equipment truck video that always hits different • Notable non-roster invites like Zyhir Hope, Josue De Paula, Jackson Ferris, Kendall George, James Tibbs, Zach Erhard, and Adam Serwinowski • Farewell to Anthony Banda and what Ben Rortvedt's long-term trajectory looks like • And yes… Shohei Ohtani's In-N-Out order changes in season vs offseason Baseball is close. The vibes are building. And this episode feels like the true start of 2026. Tap in. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. Royal Blue: The Craven Cottage Comeback EXCLUSIVE NordVPN Deal ➼ https://nordvpn.com/efc Try it risk-free now with a 30-day money-back guarantee In this latest episode of the Royal Blue Podcast, Ian Croll is joined by Joe Thomas and Connor O'Neill to dissect a massive three points for Everton following their 2-1 victory over Fulham. While the scoreboard shows another vital away win for the Toffees, the trio dives into why the result didn't tell the full story of the afternoon. It was a classic game of two halves: Fulham dominated the opening 45 minutes, leaving the Blues lucky to be within touching distance, before a tactical shift and half-time substitutions saw Everton seize control of the second period to ultimately come out on top. Can the Blues maintain this momentum as the race for the top six heats up? Subscribe to the Royal Blue Everton FC YouTube Channel for the best pre-match build-up and post-match reaction.
