This week's episode of THE FINANCIAL COMMUTE features a special session recorded live from Morton Wealth's 2024 Investor Symposium. Our Chief Investment Officer Meghan Pinchuk welcomes our fund managers, Rich Gammill of Proterra, John Ahn with WhiteHawk, and Himani Bhalla with Symbiotic to discuss how they find investments with higher yields and lower relative risk. Here are some key takeaways from their conversation: - WhiteHawk is an asset-based lender focused on underwriting to bankruptcy while Proterra and Symbiotic are niche-focused lenders in the food and healthcare sectors, respectively. - The discussion emphasizes private credit as a favored asset class due to its ability to deliver equity-like returns with lower risk through downside protections and strategic structures.- The growth in private credit is driven by reduced bank lending and higher interest rates. This shift provides opportunities for private lenders to step into underserved markets.- Sector-specific knowledge and strategic partnerships (e.g., with organizations like Farm Credit) create unique advantages for private credit managers, allowing for better terms and premium returns.- Loans are typically customized based on the borrower's assets, risks, and needs. Examples include milestone-based disbursements and covenants tailored to specific growth stages.- A common strategy lenders use is underwriting loans with the assumption that borrowers might default. This helps to ensure robust collateral or recovery plans, emphasizing downside protection and capital recovery.

Foothill Transit's Director of Marketing and Communications joins Streetsblog Editor Damien Newton for an ask-me-anything style interview probing the bus agency's recent trials and successes. Friesema took questions on: how Foothill's bolstered services to Mt. San Antonio College and Cal Poly Pomona will connect with soon to open Metro A Line service in the San Gabriel Valley Foothills, the agency's hopes for a bus rapid transit service contract in the 60 Freeway corridor, what level of challenge is still faced after the initial stage of the Covid-19 pandemic, and the agency's move towards hydrogen fuel cell technology since its battery electric vendor Proterra went bankrupt. Plus, as a bonus we heard about Friesema's favorite local mystery writer, Naomi Hirahara, whose novels are set in the SGV, Chinatown, Japantown, and Manzanar to name a few. You can read a transcript of the conversation here, or listen to the podcast below. The bus manufacturing crisis has been looming for years as more and more OEMs dropped out. But the final straw was when Proterra filed for bankruptcy protection and REV Group said it was closing its ENC facility to focus on the Canadian market. In the blink of an eye the U.S. was down to two major bus manufacturers: GILLIG and New Flyer. This put the entire public transit industry into crisis mode. Delivery times for new buses went from 12-18 months to 18-24 months--and longer. How did we get this point? It's not an easy answer, but a combination of contract terms, the pandemic, supply chain issues, and the transition to zero-emissions buses all factored in. But this week Paul dives into it with former FTA Administrator and Managing Partner at Cardinal Infrastructure Sherry Little, along with Jennifer McNeill (Vice President of Public Sector Sales and Marketing) and Stephanie Laubenstein (Director of Sales and Business Development) from New Flyer. They talk about all the causes and how the industry came together to find real, tangible solutions that will help the OEM bus industry get back on its feet and come back stronger for the future.Coming up next week on Transit Unplugged we have Philip Gerhardt head of Transport for London's Head Bus Performance to talk with Paul about optimizing the over 650 bus routes across London that serve millions of riders each day.Transit Unplugged is brought to you by Modaxo https://www.modaxo.comHost: Paul ComfortProducer: Paul ComfortEditor and Writer: Tris HusseyExecutive Producer: Julie GatesSpecial thanks to:Brand design: Tina OlagundoyeSocial Media: Tatyana MechkarovaMarketing content, Transit Unplugged Newsletter, & transit puns: Tris HusseyIf you have a question or comment, email us at info@transitunplugged.com.Follow us on social media: LinkedIn - Twitter - Threads- Instagram - FacebookSign up for the Transit Unplugged Newsletter00:00 Resolving the Bus Manufacturing Crisis: Challenges, Changes, and the Path Ahead00:05 Paul buying his first bus and an intro to the episode03:09 Introduction and Guest Welcome03:41 Current State of the Bus Manufacturing Industry04:41 Challenges and Advocacy Efforts06:59 Legislative and Policy Changes11:09 Impact of the Pandemic on Bus Manufacturing14:13 Recovery and Future Outlook15:34 Customization and Standardization in Bus Manufacturing25:45 Transition to Zero Emission Buses31:21 Conclusion and Final Thoughts34:48 Coming up next week on Transit UnpluggedDisclaimer: The views and opinions expressed in this program are those of the guests, and do not necessarily reflect the views or positions of Modaxo Inc., its affiliates or subsidiaries, or any entities they represent (“Modaxo”). Proterra buses are a case in point. Cities that wasted money on them found they had far less range then advertised. They commonly couldn't complete even short, flat routes specifically designed for them. The enormous weight of their batteries cracked frames, and getting parts from the factory was virtually impossible. But to make up for their failures, they were far more expensive than reliable diesel buses. Proterra went bankrupt in August of 2023. https://www.ttnews.com/articles/proterra-aid-bankruptcy President Biden gave Proterra at least $10 million, and lauded it as the future: “when you start making a thousand buses a year, you're going to need more room for customers.” That makes as little sense as anything Biden is saying these days. And as with everything else, the Mummified Meat Puppet Administration is incapable of learning from its mistakes: The Biden administration is dispersing nearly another billion dollars in federal grants for school districts nationwide to decarbonize their bus fleets, despite recent inspector general findings casting doubt on the program. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), in a joint announcement with the White House, said it had selected 67 applicants to receive approximately $965 million to purchase electric and low-emission school buses. The funding means the agency has now awarded nearly $2 billion for thousands of new buses across hundreds of school districts under its Clean School Bus Program, which was created in late 2021. However, the EPA Office of Inspector General in late December published the findings of an audit which determined that the Clean School Bus Program was largely dependent on utility companies' ability to increase power supplies. Further, the program may also face significant delays, according to the inspector general, without construction of additional charging stations.Entities interviewed by the inspector general's office specifically expressed concern about the ability of utility providers to bring power lines and transformers to school districts with electric buses. While some power providers have experience with electric bus infrastructure, they said they had never built such infrastructure at scale. The recruitment process is inherently human-centric, involving evaluating soft skills, cultural fit, and personal interactions. While AI can streamline specific tasks, it may struggle to assess these qualitative aspects effectively. As a recruitment business owner, how do you marry automation and artificial intelligence with a personal human touch? My special guest, Christina Stroud, shares her insights and perspective about this subject. She has a unique approach to engaging with her clients and candidates while leveraging automation with a personalized human touch. Christina is the founder and CEO of Group928. She's a seasoned Human Resources professional with over 30 years of experience specializing in start-ups, acquisitions, and exits in private equity environments. The company has grown by 400% in just three short years from $125,000 in the first year to over $500,000 in 2023. This showcases her ability to build a client base from scratch, and design and implement sales and marketing strategies while continuing to exceed her client's expectations. Episode Outline and Highlights [01:57] Chrstina's Transition from an HR professional to a recruitment business owner. Insights on how her HR experience played a role in her current success. [07:49] Nobody said it was easy - overcoming a challenging first year of entrepreneurial leap. [12:41] Growing the company to 400% - discussing two critical success factors. [18:18] The importance of stepping out of your comfort zone [28:13] Leveraging AI & automation while applying a personal touch. [40:33] Launching her podcast and engaging with thought leaders. [48:01] The most significant challenges that Christina had to navigate [58:49] What is next for Christina and Group 928? An Entrepreneurial Leap is No Walk in the Park, But Undeniably Achievable For many reasons, shifting from a recruiter to a business owner can be difficult. The risk and uncertainty, working long hours, and lack of security and benefits can deter many from the entrepreneurship journey. Overcoming these roadblocks is achievable - and Christina proved it is. This is how she described the first year of her entrepreneurial journey: “It was hard. I, you know, that first year, it was hard for me emotionally. I had never stepped away from a regular paycheck. And so to go into owning my own business, not having a steady income or a check that gets directly deposited every other Friday was very nerve-wracking for me… It hurt my ego a little bit when I went two months without getting, uh, a paycheck, but then once I got my company started, uh, I was glad that I did and it made sense, but that transition, uh, is very hard for a lot of people and it was also hard because I had never done any type of sales or marketing or bringing in new clients.” It was not a walk in the park, but Christina's mindset and belief system helped her figure things out and pull things together. She revealed two critical factors that significantly contributed to her success. Christina's Two Critical Success Factors In three years, Christina grew her company by 400% from $125,000 in the first year to over $500,000 in 2023. This is an astonishing achievement, as companies usually plateau after reaching their first six digits. Christian shared two critical success factors: Getting out of her comfort zone: “I had to take every little thing that needed to be done as a challenge. I did all the work myself. I was, you know, doing sourcing and interviewing and all the emails and communication. And that taught me a lot of new skills and things that I had to try and push myself to do that I hadn't done in a very, very long time”. Christina shared how she had to learn technology and AI, start her podcast, and other new skills. Leveraging automation for sales and marketing - this was also not easy for Christina because technology is also not her cup of tea. “Those people who know me know I have a technology dark cloud that follows me. It is a struggle wherever I go for whatever reason. And so to think that I would be using this as one of my main tools to try and find clients and at least start that initial relationship was very daunting.” Many can relate to the subject of automation and AI as it is a hot topic when it comes to balancing it with personalization and ingraining a human touch. Christina shares her best practices. Utilizing AI and Automation with a Personalized Approach Christina's approach to personalization is her unique value proposition. She shared her process: Research “And so when I went into my own business, I knew that's what I had specific target companies that I knew I wanted to work with. I had researched them. I had figured out where they were location-wise, and what the size of the company was. I started researching the CEOs and the head of HR and make sure they had the type of career and background of people that would be interested in working with recruiters whom they had a relationship with” Personalized Communication “My communications were very personal. It wasn't, hey, here's what we do, here's what we can offer you, here's how I'm gonna change your life. It was a lot more of, here's what my other clients are seeing. You know, here's what I know about the market if it makes sense for us to have those conversations help you in the future, that would be great” Going above and beyond “We've also done gifts. So we went kind of old school. Remember at Christmas you used to get lots of plates of cookies and treats and stuff from vendors or at least I know HR folks do. I used to have a desk full of boxes of things from folks who wanted to work with our company. So now as a recruiter, I do that as well, but I don't do it at Christmas time.” Leveraging AI and automation is indeed an effective way to market and engage with clients if infused with a personal human touch. It's a little over a year since the US Inflation Reduction Act was passed into law. Solar was one of the main beneficiaries, thanks to an extension and expansion of the tax credits available to the industry. So why has the sector fallen out of favour with investors recently?August was a difficult month for the markets in general, but companies including First Solar, Sunrun, Sunpower and Sunnova (who have been featured on our sister podcast The Interchange) have had it particularly rough. To look into what's going on, host Ed Crooks is joined by two of our regular finance and investment experts: Shanu Mathew, of Lazard Asset Management, and Amy Myers-Jaffe, of NYU's Energy, Climate Justice and Sustainability Lab. Together, look at the residential and utility-scale solar markets and the investment going into them, the US perspective against a global investment backdrop, and the long-term prospects for solar. Also in this show: what went wrong at Proterra? Proterra was an electric bus and battery company championed by President Biden as an example of how the US could build a manufacturing base in cleantech, but it filed for bankruptcy in early August. What does its failure tell us about the future of electric vehicles? And how do these challenges facing two key sectors, solar and EVs, change our perceptions of the clean energy transition? Finally, ESG investing is in the spotlight again. Larry Fink, CEO of Blackrock – one of the world's biggest asset management firms – said recently that he “doesn't use the word ESG any more, because it's been entirely weaponised...by the far left and weaponised by the far right.” Republican politicians in the US have attacked ESG as “a direct threat to the American economy, individual economic freedom, and our way of life.” Some statistics have suggested that interest in ESG investing has been waning from its high point in 2021. Amy says the capital is still flowing into clean energy, but investors need to “pick the right team, the right technology, the right management.” Shanu argues that the trends still support moves towards increased sustainability and the use of environmental, social and governance factors in investment decisions. ESG may not be a buzz-word any more, at least not in a positive sense. But the ideas that lie behind it can still be useful.Follow the conversation on X, the platform we know as Twitter – we're @theenergygang. And subscribe to the show so you don't miss an episode. Toby Kraus and Ben Parker are co-founders of Lightship, an all-electric RV. Their first model, the L1, is a tow trailer with a sizable solar array on top, electric heat pump HVAC, an induction stove in the kitchen, an 80 kilowatt hour battery and an EV range extending or gas mileage boosting feature wherein the tow trailer provides some on-road power to the vehicle that's pulling it. Ben is a former mechanical design engineer at Tesla who contributed to the Model 3. Toby also worked at Tesla, first in finance then as product manager for the Model S. He later assumed an executive position at Proterra, an electric bus company. Despite Proterra's recent bankruptcy, it played a pivotal role in advancing large vehicle electrification. In 2020, Toby and Ben teamed up to establish Lightship and unveiled the L1 for pre-orders in March 2023.This conversation not only covers the founders' backgrounds and the L1's feature set, but also how they have sized the RV market, how the electrification of the RV will help drive the electrification of the pickup truck sector overall, and how the L1 can serve as a power source to a home when it's not in use as an RV. MCJ Collective is proud to be a multi-time investor in Lightship via our venture capital funds, and we still learned a lot during this conversation. In this episode, we cover: [03:06]: Ben's background and Tesla experience[05:43]: How electrifying food trucks led Ben to work on RVs[09:07]: Ben's experience in Formula 1 student racing[10:37]: Toby's background: finance, Tesla, Proterra, and Eclipse[16:46]: RV categories and the market landscape[20:30]: The role of aerodynamics in trailer design [23:08]: Potential for Lightship L1 to unlock electrification in pickup trucks[25:05]: The hodgepodge of fossil fuel systems in legacy RVs[27:20]: Prioritizing a game-changing product with sustainability as a bonus[28:24]: An in-depth overview of the Lightship L1 trailer's sleek design[30:58]: Details of the L1's solar paneled roof, HVAC, and stove[34:51]: Pricing and target customer demographics [40:23]: Addressing range anxiety with existing RV campground infrastructure[42:25]: Lightship L1's battery and potential as a home backup power source[49:50]: Tackling the problem of embedded emissions with durability[53:51]: How Lightship finances their businessGet connected: Toby Kraus LinkedIn / Ben Parker LinkedInLightship LinkedIn / XCody Simms LinkedIn / XMCJ Podcast / Collective*You can also reach us via email at info@mcjcollective.com, where we encourage you to share your feedback on episodes and suggestions for future topics or guests.Episode recorded on Aug 10, 2023 (Published on Aug 24, 2023)

This week Mary Ann and Alex got into a mix of growth stories, and some less-than-winsome on the startups that are not having the best 2023:How Lula went frugal and set itself up for a massive up-round in 2023: Mary Ann's recent reporting on Lula was perfect Equity material as it dealt with capital in motion, and a quickly-growing startup. Even more notably, Lula is in the insurtech space, part of the fintech world that has had an up-and-down few years.Weights & Biases raises $50M: Back in the day if a startup raised a big round, and then a smaller round afterwards, we would have worried a little. Today's venture market feels a little bit different. So, MLOps startup Weights & Biases has added $50 million more to its coffers, and we didn't fret too much on the round coming in light compared to its previous tranche. Summing our views, anything ML and AI is hot today, and Weights & Biases is well known. This round was not a shocker.BlueJeans folds: Remember when Verizon bought a Zoom competitor during the pandemic? It seems that customers didn't, either.Sendy shutters, Proterra reaches for bankruptcy help: While insurtech and MLOps are showing vigor, Kenyan logistics startup Sendy is over, and an EV startup that went public via a SPAC is trying to shake up its accounting so that it can keep going. Not the best news, frankly. And we closed with the latest from WeWork (not so good) and its erstwhile bestie, SoftBank, which is getting busier with its checkbook again. What a strange week and one that went by so quickly. On today's "Freedom Friday," Tara and Stephanie talk about how Biden's favorite EV company, Proterra, which Biden claimed would "own the future," declared bankruptcy this week, taking hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars down with it. Your hosts also discuss the continued push for electric vehicles from the Biden Admin, and their flippant attitude towards the cost to the American people, as well as research that shows EV's are not more cost effective than gas-powered vehicles and are instead more expensive. PLUS...House Judiciary Committee Chair Jim Jordan talks with Joe ...an interview you don't want to miss about the Facebook Files, Jack Smith and when somebody will get impeached.
On today's show, Mike takes some time to talk about the government picking winners and losers and why it's almost always a bad idea. Case in point: Proterra, an electric bus company that received heavy backing from President Joe Biden's administration, filed for bankruptcy on Monday. Mike looks at that epic fail and comments on what we all can learn from it.Following that, Mike talks to Breitbart Reporter Katherine Hamilton about Ohio's Issue 1 failing (and why that's a bad thing) and other important abortion-related stories. You'll definitely want to listen to that interview if you're a pro-life warrior!

Ron DeSantis' presidential campaign announced Tuesday it had replaced its campaign manager amid low polling in the 2024 GOP primary. DeSantis' gubernatorial chief of staff James Uthmeier replaced campaign manager Generra Peck, DeSantis' team confirmed to The Hill. Peck will now work as the campaign's chief strategist. "People have written Governor DeSantis’s obituary many times," Uthmeier told The Messenger. "He’s breaking records on fundraising and has a supporting super PAC with $100 million in the bank and an incredible ground game. Get ready." Additionally, David Polyansky, former chief of staff for Texas Republican Sen. Ted Cruz, will also join the campaign after serving as an adviser at the pro-DeSantis Never Back Down super PAC. "David Polyansky will also be a critical addition to the team given his presidential campaign experience in Iowa and work at Never Back Down," DeSantis' communications director Andrew Romeo said. Republican strategist and former Trump adviser Roger Stone predicted that 2024 presidential candidate and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis will completely run out of money by the first of October. The largest donor to the Florida governor said earlier this week that he was going to hold off funding until DeSantis could appeal more to moderates. Trump is ahead of DeSantis in Republican primary polls with 53.2% to the Florida Republican's 15.1%, according to an average of polls analyzed by FiveThirtyEight. The staffing changes come after the DeSantis campaign laid off more than one-third of its employees last month. https://bongino.com/electric-vehicle-company-heavily-promoted-by-biden-admin-goes-bankrupt Electric Vehicle Company Heavily Promoted by Biden Admin Goes Bankrupt Proterra, an electric bus manufacturing company promoted by the Biden administration, had everything it needed to succeed - and failed anyway. As the Washington Free Beacon’s Chuck Ross reported: Proterra cited "various market and macroeconomic headwinds" in a Chapter 11 filing on Monday, which came after the California-based firm cut hundreds of jobs earlier this year and restructured hundreds of millions of dollars in outstanding debt. Proterra stood to rake in millions from Biden's infrastructure and green energy initiatives, the former of which included at least $5 billion in spending on electric buses alone. Biden's flagship climate bill, the Inflation Reduction Act, also includes spending to help cities convert from diesel buses to electric buses, a major incentive for companies like Proterra. JoAnn Covington, Proterra's chief legal officer, acknowledged last year that tax credits and federal grants under Biden's bills were a major incentive for the company. Grants to purchase electric buses and to create electric vehicle charging infrastructure would "open up opportunities to accelerate adoption of battery-electric and zero-emissions vehicles to all the other commercial segments on the cusp of being electrified," Covington said. Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm held non-public shares of proterra, which she sold in mid 2021 to an undisclosed buyer, pocketing over a $1 million profit in the process. She pledged to disclose the buyer, but never did. Proterra's stock only crashed from there, and Granholm’s 240,000 shares would be worth roughly $60,000 total as of writing, had she still held them. Earlier this year in February, Proterra’s CEO Gareth Joyce was appointed by Biden to his Export Council. The year prior, Biden hosted a virtual White House event that spotlighted Proterra’s business, which included the president of the company giving a virtual tour of the company’s manufacturing facility. https://freebeacon.com/national-security/biden-admin-has-given-2-35-billion-to-taliban-controlled-afghanistan/ Biden Admin Has Given $2.35 Billion to Taliban-Controlled Afghanistan The Biden administration has provided more than $2.35 billion in taxpayer dollars to Afghanistan since the Taliban retook control of the government in 2021 following a deadly U.S. evacuation. The United States remains Afghanistan’s top patron, even as lawmakers and federal oversight officials warn that these funds could be propping up the Taliban’s terrorist government. Updated spending figures were disclosed Tuesday in a report by the Special Inspector General for Afghan Reconstruction (SIGAR), a federal watchdog that documents waste, fraud, and abuse related to U.S. expenditures in the war-torn country. Around $1.7 billion "remained available for possible disbursement" at the time of SIGAR’s report, meaning that this money is ready to flow into non-profit groups and other entities working on reconstruction projects in Afghanistan. With the Taliban exerting control over nearly every sector of the country’s infrastructure—including the NGO community—it is more than likely that a sizable portion of these funds will end up in the terror group’s coffers. The latest figures are certain to increase congressional pressure on the Biden administration to stop sending taxpayer funds into Afghanistan until officials can ensure the Taliban is not stealing the money. John Sopko, head of SIGAR, told the House Foreign Affairs Committee in April that he "cannot assure this committee or the American taxpayer we are not currently funding the Taliban." Sopko also accused the Biden administration of blocking his investigatory efforts and refusing to hand over documents that could show if the Taliban is being propped up by American cash. In the two years since the Taliban retook control of Afghanistan following the Biden administration's withdrawal of American forces in 2021, it has become increasingly clear that the terrorist group views international assistance as a "revenue stream," according to SIGAR’s latest report. The United States Institute of Peace recently warned the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), the primary vehicle for U.S. spending in Afghanistan, that the Taliban is "pushing for ever-increasing degrees of credit and control over the delivery of aid." United Nations officials also disclosed to the watchdog that "the Taliban have effectively infiltrated and influenced most UN-managed assistance programming." This reality is raising questions about the nearly $2 billion in funds the Biden administration has made available for disbursement in the country. As U.S. aid money flows to the country, "Taliban interference with NGO work escalated, leading to a steady decline in humanitarian access in 2023, with a 32 percent increase in incidents between January and May 2023 as compared to the same period in 2022," according to the report. The Taliban government also has not moderated its jihadi principles since seizing the country. As SIGAR and congressional oversight committees raise concerns about the Biden administration’s push to pump money into Afghanistan, the government agencies in control of these expenditures are not cooperating with investigations. Sopko revealed in April that the "the Department of State, USAID, the U.N., and other agencies are refusing to give us basic information that we or any other oversight body would need to ensure safe stewardship of tax dollars." Sopko revealed in April that the "the Department of State, USAID, the U.N., and other agencies are refusing to give us basic information that we or any other oversight body would need to ensure safe stewardship of tax dollars." "More troubling," he added, "State and USAID have instructed their employees not to talk to SIGAR, and in one recent instance, State told one of its contractors not to participate in a SIGAR audit." The White House also would not cooperate with SIGAR. Congress has had similar experiences, with USAID declining to tell investigators what safeguards were put in place to ensure taxpayer cash is not stolen by the Taliban. https://nypost.com/2023/08/07/nathan-cruz-cousin-of-uvalde-school-shooter-arrested-for-threatening-school/ Cousin, 17, of Uvalde school shooter arrested for allegedly threatening ‘to do the same thing’ A cousin to Uvalde school shooter Salvador Ramos was arrested after he was accused of threatening to shoot up a school and shoot his sister in the head, according to authorities. Nathan Cruz, 17, allegedly told his sister he planned “to do the same thing” as his sicko cousin, who shot and killed 19 students and two staffers inside Robb Elementary School last year, according to an arrest warrant obtained by the San Antonio Express-News. San Antonio officers responded to a mental health call after the teen suspect’s mother grew worried Monday morning. “The suspect’s mother was especially concerned because the suspect is currently on probation, was intoxicated at the time, and for the fact that they live near an elementary school,” the affidavit reportedly stated. Cruz also allegedly mentioned how “school is starting soon,” according to KSAT, which also obtained the warrant. Cruz reportedly denied making any threats when speaking with detectives. Cruz’s mother said she overheard her son attempting to buy an AR-15 illegally over the phone, according to the warrant. The family lives across the street from the Gardendale Early Learning Program, the newspaper reported. In addition to the school shooting threat, he also threatened to shoot his sister in the head, the mother alleged. The young man’s sister believed his threat was credible “due to the recent history of their family and the suspect’s knowledge of his cousin’s actions,” according to the San Antonio Express-News. Cruz was booked on a felony charge of making a terroristic threat to the public and a misdemeanor charge of making a terroristic threat to a family member, according to online records from the Bexar County jail. He then adds artificial buns to his hair to simulate Minnie’s ears and tops it off with Minnie’s signature red bow. The video is the latest example of Disney promoting transgenderism and gender non-conformity. As Breitbart News reported, Disneyland recently employed a mustachioed transvestite to welcome young girls into the park’s Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. In the past couple of years, Disney has fought Florida over its anti-grooming Parental Rights in Education law, created multiple transgender characters for its children’s shows, put gay characters at the center of its big-budget movies, and even launched an LGBTQ-themed apparel line. In 2021, the Disney+ streaming service hosted This Is Me: Pride Celebration Spectacular, a musical special on YouTube starring drag queen Nina West, with performances of popular Disney songs re-imagined with LGBTQ themes.

Today's show opens with a revelation that hit social media and a few news outlets last night about missing documents and videos from the J6 Committee. I found this to be of keen interest, given Special Prosecutor Jack Smith has been in the news indicting Donald Trump on January 6 charges. Now, when Trump's lawyers will likely seek to subpoena those documents, the new Oversight subcommittee looking into the J6 Committee has discovered as much as half may be missing. To help shed some light on this, I invited US Congressman Barry Loudermilk, chair of the committee to discuss what they've found and the progress they've made. We chat about documents, videos, missing testimony from the Capitol police chief and more. We even talked about whistleblower protection laws and how hard it is for Republicans to get the truth out via a Legacy/mainstream media who is only interested in supporting Democrat narratives. I next move onto a story that broke yesterday from the state of Michigan. According to The Gateway Pundit, they reveal a story of massive 2020 voter fraud, including an estimated 800,000 ballot applications sent to non-qualified voters and tied to a Democrat-funded organization with multiple temporary facilities in several states. Why have you never heard about it? Because, once local police escalated to state police and the state's Attorney General, it was then referred to the FBI where it seems investigations go to die and evidence disappears – at least if it's tied to the Left. With all that fraud coming out in Michigan, I thought it might be nice to shift our focus to another battleground state. I play two back-to-back sound bites of people testifying under oath. One details ballot harvesting and intimidation in elder care and assisted living facilities, while the other was a US Postal worker ordered to “find mail-in ballots” hours after the polls had already closed and change their post-marked to before Nov 4. While we've been so focused on all of the indictment headlines, it looks like the US has just approved the first batch of M1A1 Abrams tanks to be shipped to Ukraine. Oh, and to anger President Putin further, they may be stocked with uranium depleted ammunition. Remember, Putin said he was pushed to move short-range, tactical nukes to Belarus after Canada sent depleted uranium ammunition to stock their tanks they sent to Ukraine earlier this summer. Speaking of distractions, while we keep getting sold a bill of goods called Bidenomics, one of the regimes green tech companies just declared bankruptcy. Biden lauded Proterra as innovators and pioneers of EV buses, but now it seems those buses will never see the light of day. All those tax-payer subsidies have gone up in a poof of smoke. And, while on the subject of buses, we need to spend a moment with our Vice President. To close the show, I bring you yet another installment of Deep Thoughts with VP Kamala Harris. Let's just say she loves school buses and loves electric school buses even more. Take a moment to rate and review the show and then share the episode on social media. On today's episode of THE FINANCIAL COMMUTE, host Chris Galeski welcomes Rich Gammill, Managing Partner of Proterra Investment Partners, an alternative investment firm focused on private equity investments in the natural resource sectors of agriculture, food, metals, and mining. Proterra originated in the food and agricultural space under Cargill. After splitting from Cargill, they partnered with Farm Credit, an independent federal agency, to create a unitranche lending solution for food businesses that may not have access to traditional bank loans. Farm Credit is not a deposit-based bank; they fund themselves through the issuance of bonds. Rich says Farm Credit is a mission-oriented, member-owned cooperative providing a wide range of financial services to support agriculture, including loans for land purchases, operating expenses, equipment financing, etc. Proterra helps Farm Credit reach branded food companies that have pricing power and control over their gross margins, providing reliable cash flow streams and defensive qualities- even during challenging times like the pandemic. Proterra does not lend to farmers because the market decides the prices of commodities, which can be volatile and unpredictable. Therefore, Rich says even though their investors may take on more illiquidity, they can generally expect more return and minimized risk. Proterra's focus on food lending offers a specialized and niche investment opportunity in the broader financial landscape while emphasizing responsible investing, considering environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors.Disclosure: Information presented herein is for discussion and illustrative purposes only. The hippies and intellectual class have always believed they and they alone can perfect humanity, something only God can do and only in the New Earth. The hippies were going to do it through “free love”, gender-equality, racial-equality and pot smoking. The intellectuals were going to do it with a “new” enlightenment. Now, the intellectual-class intends to do it with compliance implants in our bodies and the former hippie-class with violent punishment for thought crimes. Many of the hippies who preached gender-equality are in the streets beating women for saying they are women; many of the intellectuals are in the government or academia teaching young people women don't exist. So what happened?Big Pharma happened. A Ph.D named Toby Rogers, who writes about iatro-genocide (read: “relating to illness caused by medical examination or treatment), makes a brilliant observation I will sum up this way: pharma has killed the hippie-ethos and the intellectual class, please read the entire piece. “I struggle to find words to describe this:Suddenly, in 2020, some of the smartest people in the world -- James Surowiecki, Naomi Klein, Aaron Sorkin, Noam Chomsky, Slavoj Žižek, and so many more -- stopped being smart. The test was simple -- apply all of your smart social, economic, & political theories to Covid & vaccines. That task is not difficult -- spend a few hours reading widely and apply a lifetime of sophisticated critical theory to our present conjuncture.”. . . Big Pharma--Pfizer, Moderna, Johnson & Johnson--owns the media and much of government. They have used their ownership to break minds--like the Nashville murderer's mind was broken. They have paid to teach people reality isn't real and perfection comes from pills and implants. As they break minds, Big Pharma claims that they are fixing minds (1/6th of all Americans are ingesting their psychotropics, on this trajectory a majority of people under eighteen will be addicted to a pharmaceutical as adults). What does God say? We are to seek holiness, to seek to be more like Jesus, but we cannot reach perfection prior to the New Earth.Philippians 3:12-15 Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own. Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Let those of us who are mature think this way, and if in anything you think otherwise, God will reveal that also to you. Nashville police confirm today's shooter identifier as a transgender. Nearly a third of all U.S. greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions are produced by transportation GHG emissions. Today, industries across the board are actively working to improve their sustainability practices and thanks to early adopters like Proterra, the technology now exists to support the mission. The founder of the world's first fast-charging, all-electricity city transit buses had a vision two decades ago to help reduce the planet's pollution problem by reinventing its biggest contributor. Its newest heavy-duty vehicles can now travel over 300 miles on a single charge, electrifying the transit industry for airports, universities and private entities. It wasn't enough to be the first in the market, they also needed to be the preferred choice. The industry leader aimed to create a safer, more reliable, and cleaner transportation option, offering a more pleasant solution for commuters, drivers and the air we breathe. Proterra's VP of Customer Success, Program Management and Transit Product Management, Mike Finnern shares what the road to innovation has been like for the company pioneering the nation's transition to electric vehicles. He shares the secret to building an advanced company from the ground up, in a segment that didn't yet exist, and how they've earned their high repeat customer rate in the process. On this episode of Of Note, Mike joins our hosts Joseph Nother and Kim Christ to explore how to spot innovative talent, inspire it and apply it to achieve success. Learn how Proterra scaled their company from a single product manufacturer to a three-tiered business manufacturing electric commercial vehicles, EV technologies, and charging infrastructures.
Andrew Beebe is the Managing Director at Obvious Ventures, a venture capital firm with over $1 billion AUM that invests in early-stage, purpose-driven entrepreneurs reimagining trillion-dollar industries. Andrew joined Obvious Ventures at the firm's inception to lead investments in climate tech and clean energy solutions, and his investment thesis has led the company to invest in companies, like Proterra (an electric bus company, $PTRA), Lilium, (an electric flight company, $LILM), and Amply (an electric fleet management company). Prior to Obvious, Andrew was an entrepreneur and built companies around sustainable systems for nearly two decades; first in the Internet 1.0 days in the late 90s and later in the first clean tech wave of the early 2000s. His excitement about solar in the early 2000s led him to co-founding Energy Innovation, which he grew into a major solar developer serving customers like Google, Disney, and Sony Pictures. About VSC Ventures: For 20 years, our award-winning PR agency VSC has worked with innovative startups on positioning, messaging, and awareness and we are bringing that same expertise to help climate startups with storytelling and narrative building. Last year, general partners Vijay Chattha and Jay Kapoor raised a $21M fund to co-invest in the most promising startups alongside leading climate funds. Through the conversations on our show CLIMB by VSC, we're excited to share what we're doing at VSC and VSC Ventures on climate innovation with companies like Ample, Actual, Sesame Solar, Synop, Vibrant Planet, and Zume among many others.

In late October, the EPA announced nearly $1 billion was awarded through the Clean School Bus Rebate Lottery program to support 389 school districts across the country with their school bus electrification projects. The intention of this program is to accelerate electrification by giving schools the financial resources to transition their diesel bus fleets to all-electric.On this episode of The Amped EV Podcast, we catch up with the transportation director, Rick Grisham, at one of those school districts, Richland One School District in Columbia, South Carolina, the 11th-largest school district in South Carolina, to understand why the district wants to transition to electric, what the process has been like and who the major stakeholders are to make the district's plans a reality. One of those stakeholders is Proterra, who is working with Richland One from start to finish to guide them through the transition process. We also talk with Mabel Feng, the director of product management at Proterra, to hear about the technology that powers the school buses, charging solutions, infrastructure and management software Richland One is using. The Buzz: www.thebuzzevnews.comAutel Energy: www.autelenergy.com

Show #1402 Good morning, good afternoon and good evening wherever you are in the world, welcome to EV News Daily, you trusted source of information. It's Saturday 12th March, it's Martyn Lee here and I go through every EV story so you don't have to. TAVARES CONFIDENT THAT STELLANTIS CAN CATCH UP WITH TESLA - Stellantis (STLA.MI) should be able to catch up with electric vehicle pioneer Tesla (TSLA.O) in the coming years, its chief executive Carlos Tavares said on Friday, adding that competition would benefit consumers. - Tavares also called for greater investment in charging networks in Europe and the United States to encourage drivers to switch to electric vehicles. Original Source : https://www.reuters.com/business/autos-transportation/tavares-confident-that-stellantis-can-catch-up-with-tesla-2022-03-11/ CCS RETROFIT KIT FOR MODEL 3/Y APPEARS IN TESLA PARTS CATALOG - Tesla launched a new CCS1 adapter in South Korea last year, announcing shortly thereafter that it would eventually be coming to North America. - Tesla added new information to the in-car display to know if you had the hardware required for your car to work with the CCS charging standard. - Generally cars built in late 2019 or early 2020 or later had the message “CCS enabled,” while cars built prior to that date had the message “Not Installed.” - While we still wait for the CCS adapter to appear in the North American Tesla Shop, a retrofit kit has been added to the Tesla Parts Catalog. The part number (1652004-00-A) is listed for both the Model 3 and Model Y, while there is a second part number (1652005-00-A) listed just for the Model 3. - When Tesla released the retrofit in Europe, it was initially offered at €500 ($965 CAD), which included the adapter itself. The price was later dropped to €299 ($416 CAD). The double-decker motor coach was “Proterra Powered” and traveled 2,524 miles from Winter Garden, Florida, to Costa Mesa, California, using only public charging stations. - the TDX25E – a 100% electric, 69-passenger double-decker bus. It's the first of its kind to become available in the US, and the largest electric passenger vehicle on the road today, according to ABC Companies. - ABC Companies shared details of its latest (and longest) demonstration drive in a recent press release. The double-decker Van Hool electric bus was provided by ABC Companies and is powered by a Proterra battery system, delivering a storage capacity of 676 kWh. - Empire Coach Line provided the driver for the cross country drive that began at ABC's HQ in Winter Garden, Florida. Over the course of six days, the TDX25E bus traversed 2,524 miles of US roads, reaching elevations over 5,000 feet and averaging 260 miles per charge before reaching the finish line at ABC's Costa Mesa facility in California. But we look at NASCAR as a place where, in an ideal world, it would be all things to all people. If you went to a NASCAR event weekend, you could see whatever types of technologies you wanted throughout a race weekend." - While there aren't any plans for the top NASCAR Cup Series to go all-electric, the Next Gen cars that were launched this year were future-proofed to accommodate hybrid powertrain that O'Donnell had previously said could be used as soon as 2024. They'd likely first be featured on short ovals and road courses where their regenerative braking systems could recover energy as the cars slow down for corners which would then be used by the electric motor for a burst of acceleration. Business drivers can't afford time or associated risks of finding and using a public charging point, with many of these also not being suitable for larger vehicles or e-vans to use. - With FleetCharge, JustPark will find a local homeowner with a driveway within a five-minute walk of the EV driver, install a home charger and give said fleet driver exclusive access to that charging point. - Through FleetCharge, all the upfront EV charging installation costs are covered, but it could potentially earn the hosts a guaranteed additional income of £1,000 a year – all tax-free. Initially, a plant for mechanical dismantling will be constructed by 2023. As a second step - subject to promising discussions with the public sector - the facilities for hydrometallurgical processing of the battery materials are to go into operation. This means that in the future, Kuppenheim could cover all the stages from dismantling to module level, shredding and drying and subsequent processing of battery-grade material flows. Uber is investing £5 million in the chargers, which will be branded by Uber but available for all drivers to use. - The aim is for the new on-street charging points to improve access for those without driveways or home chargers. Uber says it will be working with the boroughs to determine where the chargers should best be installed. An Uber spokesperson told electrive that the chargers will be in the ground in 2023. - This time last year, Uber launched its ‘Uber Green' EV-only option, initially in London's Zone One. Now, Uber says it will expand this option to the whole of the city – meaning that riders will be able to request an electric vehicle from anywhere in the city for the same price as a normal UberX. To incentivise the drivers, Uber ensures that they earn 13% more when taking trips on Uber Green.
