Why No One Screens For What Lindsay Clancy Had

Every screening tool used in OB-GYN and pediatric offices across the United States is designed to catch postpartum depression. Sadness. Hopelessness. Difficulty bonding. None of them screen for postpartum psychosis — a condition that involves hallucinations, command voices, delusions, and a complete break from reality. It affects one to two women in every thousand births. And the person going through it almost never knows it is happening.Lindsay Clancy was a labor and delivery nurse who sought help from every corner of the medical system after the birth of her third child. She went to her providers. She called crisis lines. She checked herself into McLean Hospital. She was prescribed nine medications over four months. She told her doctors she was having intrusive thoughts. Her civil lawsuit alleges those were auditory hallucinations — voices she could not distinguish from reality — and that her providers treated them as anxiety without ever asking the question that would have changed the diagnosis.A forensic psychiatrist later diagnosed her with Bipolar Disorder I with postpartum onset — meaning the antidepressants her doctors prescribed may have triggered the psychotic episodes they kept failing to identify. Her husband Patrick told a friend that Lindsay seemed overmedicated and was acting like a zombie. An outside hospital flagged overmedication and misdiagnosis. According to the lawsuit, the response from her nurse practitioner never came.Tony Brueski explains the condition at the center of Lindsay Clancy's murder trial — what it is, what it is not, and what every person with a new mother in their life needs to understand.Join Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/ Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? You Run Podcast, Horror Movie Review

You voted for it, so now you have to live with it! This week on the You Run Podcast, Scott and Marc are diving headfirst into Rob Jabbaz's ultra-violent, face-melting 2021 Taiwanese horror sensation, The Sadness. We follow a young couple trying to reunite across the city of Taipei amidst a sudden outbreak of the "Alvin Virus." But forget standard, brain-dead zombies—this virus mutates the brain's empathy centres, turning everyday citizens into sadistic, bloodthirsty sadomasochists who act on their absolute worst, most depraved impulses with a big, terrifying smile. Is this a masterful, adrenaline-fueled masterpiece of modern body horror, or did the relentless, mean-spirited depravity finally push the boys past their breaking point?Plus, we play a special survival game: Can Marc actually survive a zombie apocalypse in The Sadness universe? Knowing these zombies aren't just hungry, but deeply, aggressively sadistic... things are going to get ugly. We'll also dive into a fresh batch of listener voicemails, drop some production facts, and check out 3 Word ReviewWARNING: This episode contains discussion of a highly extreme horror film featuring themes of sexual violence and extreme gore, alongside our usual strong language and unfiltered insults. Send us Fan MailIf you've been stuck staring in the rearview mirror of regret, this one is a reset. We're talking about reclaiming your life from where you are now, not from who you were before the divorce, the loss, the diagnosis, the betrayal, the addiction, or your mental illness. Your story is not over, and your greatest days are not determined by your past. They're shaped by what you choose to do with today and you can overcome anxiety, sadness and fear.We dig into what it really means to let go of the past without pretending it didn't happen. The past can teach you, but it can't be your permanent address. We explore how depression and anxiety pull you into replaying old conversations and old failures, and why that mental loop keeps you trapped even when you've physically moved on. We also talk about faith and Scripture as anchors for hope, including the reminder that God can “do a new thing,” and that setbacks often get louder when you're closer to a breakthrough. Most importantly, we make this practical. Confidence doesn't usually come before movement, it grows because of movement. Faith can look like small steps: getting out of bed, taking a shower, scheduling counseling, taking medication as prescribed, reading one chapter, walking around the block, or making one phone call. Purpose can start during healing, not after it, and your scars don't disqualify you. They can become your greatest qualification. If you're ready to stop giving yesterday permission to control today, press play. Send us Fan MailDepression doesn't always announce itself as a crisis. Sometimes it's one heavy symptom that won't lift, and other times it's a full depressive episode that starts to interfere with daily life. We get specific about that difference, because naming what you're experiencing can help you choose the next step with less shame and more clarity. We then move into simple, practical ways to manage depression day by day. We talk about why 15 minutes of sunlight can support mood regulation, sleep, and energy, and why “small” movement still counts. We also get real about depression and self care: taking a shower, making the bed, and keeping basic hygiene can be powerful momentum builders when your mind tells you to stay stuck. From there, we dig into nutrition and mental health, including how high sugar habits can worsen mood swings and how small food swaps can help you feel more steady. The mindset piece matters too. We walk through changing the narrative of negative self talk into balanced, hopeful thoughts, and why honest conversations with trusted loved ones can reduce isolation. Faith is part of this foundation, including encouragement from Isaiah 41:10 and Philippians 4:8, while still being clear that daily habits are not a replacement for professional mental health treatment when it's needed. We also share why it's important to guard what you allow into your spirit, including the voices you keep close. If you're ready for more structure, we point you to the 14 Days to Manage Depression course mentioned in the show notes. Send us Fan MailGod feels quiet, your prayers feel delayed, and your mind keeps asking the same question: did He forget me? I'm Tamera Trotter, and I'm walking straight into that tension with you, because faith and depression often collide in the waiting. This conversation is for anyone trying to keep believing while carrying chronic depression, grief, loneliness, anxiety, or a long season that won't lift. We unpack what “ultimate faith” really looks like when circumstances grow worse before they get better and God's timing doesn't match your expectations. I share how Scripture frames testing as refinement, not rejection, and why the greatest victories are often preceded by the greatest tests. We also tackle the painful misconception that silence equals absence, using stories like Abraham and Joseph and a simple picture of a teacher who stays in the room during the test. Ready to better understand your symptoms and depression and get a handle on your mental illness?  The 14 Days to Manage Depression will give you the tools needed to get past the pain and onto the path to healing. https://www.pensight.com/x/14DaystoManageDepressionRecommended for: Christian Woman who are functionally depressed, moms with anxiety, anyone trying to better understand a loved one that suffers with a mental illness.Related Episodes:185 | Stay the Course | Despite Anxiety, Fear and Pain | Faith Will See you Through184 | Having a Mental Illness Does Not Mean You Lack Faith183 | Mental Illness Must Be Managed Daily to Decrease, Stress, Worry and Handle Pain.Mental health matters here. Walking home late one night, he saw a pale girl standing near the road, crying into her hands. He stopped to ask if she needed help. Instead of answering, she looked up in shock and ran into the thick brush near a creek. When he followed, there was nowhere she could have gone. A steep muddy embankment, barbed wire, and blackberry vines blocked the way. No footsteps. No movement. No sound. The girl had simply vanished.Years later, what haunts him most isn't just what he saw on the road. It's the feeling that followed him home afterward—a cold, lingering sadness he still can't fully explain.#RealGhostStories #ParanormalPodcast #GhostStory #RoadsideGhost #UnexplainedMysteries #HauntedRoad #TrueGhostStory #ParanormalEncounter #GhostlyEncounter #SupernaturalStories Love real ghost stories? Wolfgang Petersen's The Never Ending Story  This week we look into the cinematic psyche of Mr. Ibrahim Chavez. Our path is Wolfgang Petersen's 1984 Childrens' Dark Fantasy, The Never Ending Story. A childrens' adventure/heroes journey of youth battling nihilism (in this case The Nothing), bullies, parental loss, and the power of imagination, self-worth (self-belief), and self-realization. Possibilities abound in this story surrounding a magical book, a young warrior (Atreyu), beautiful, frightening, and troubling settings (The Swamp of Sadness - one of the most depressing and overpowering setttings in The History of Movies), and imaginative puppetry (The Luck Dragon - Falkor, Gmork, Turtle-like Morla, and The Rock-Eater - truly magnificent). The struggle to save the mythical Fantasia of the film presents imaginative and important points for those of us who have always loved reading and literature and the new generations that are understanding the power of literature. Take a listen and let us know what you think. Send us Fan MailEver said "bite the bullet" or "the whole nine yards" and wondered where those phrases actually came from? In this episode, the guys dig into the origins of common phrases and sayings, separating the real history from the folk-etymology myths almost everyone repeats. This is part history lesson, part comedy chaos. The crew works through dozens of everyday idioms, busts the popular "obvious" explanations that turn out to be wrong, and then fast-forwards to the modern slang taking over in 2026. If you love language, trivia, and unfiltered conversation, this one's for you. (Heads up: explicit language throughout.)Along the way you'll find out why "saved by the bell" has nothing to do with being buried alive, how "caught red handed" traces back to 15th-century Scottish law, and the surprising claim that "the whole nine yards" may have been born right here in Southern Indiana. The second half shifts gears into Gen Z and Gen Alpha slang, breaking down terms like "delulu," "cooked," "beige flag," and a few that are far less printable. If you've got a weird phrase or saying you want the guys to dig into, drop it in the comments. Send us Fan MailIf you enjoyed this deep dive on cloning and genetic modification, hit subscribe, drop a comment with your take — should we bring back the woolly mammoth? — and share the episode with the friend who still thinks Walt Disney's head is in a freezer.Cloning and genetic modification get blended together constantly in pop culture, so this episode breaks down what's actually real, what's a myth, and how we got from a frog tadpole in 1952 to dire wolf pups in 2025.Brian, Thomas, and producer Corey (it's Corey's birthday) walk through the full history and science of cloning — admitting up front they're not scientists, just three guys following a rabbit hole that started with a family cloning their dog, CRISPR edits, and the Lone Star tick. From there it turns into a surprisingly thorough tour of how copying and editing life actually works. The episode untangles the four ideas people constantly confuse: cloning (a genetic copy, same DNA), genetic modification / gene editing (changing genes, like CRISPR), de-extinction (reviving a lost species), and chimeras (mixing cells from two species). With that foundation set, the crew traces the timeline from Yves Delage's 1895 nuclear transplantation concept and Hans Spemann's 1938 "fantastical experiment," through the first nuclear transfer in 1952, John Gurdon's Nobel Prize work, and Dolly the sheep — the first mammal cloned from an adult cell, born July 5, 1996.If you've ever wondered whether you can really clone your pet, this one answers it: it's real, it's commercial, and it's expensive. They cover the actual companies and price tags, why a clone is not a resurrection, and why the Humane Society pushes back on the practice. The conversation also gets into man-animal hybrids — the bizarre real story of Soviet scientist Ilya Ivanov — and busts the myth that Stalin wanted an army of ape-man super soldiers. This is for anyone curious about CRISPR, stem cell medicine, de-extinction headlines, and the ethics underneath all of it: human-animal chimeras grown for transplant organs, the 100,000+ Americans on the organ waiting list, and whether reproductive human cloning should stay banned. Expect the science (telomeres, Large Offspring Syndrome, the brutal 1–5% survival rate) alongside the kind of unfiltered, off-the-rails commentary the show is known for.By the end you'll understand why the 2025 "dire wolf" isn't really a dire wolf, what the Bucardo's grim record actually was, and why mules — and ligers — can't be bred the way you'd think. It's a fast, funny, fact-checked crash course in one of the wildest fields in modern science.New episodes of The Days Grimm Podcast drop regularly — history, science, true crime, and whatever rabbit hole Tom drags everyone into next.TIMELINE:00:00 — Cold open & welcome (Corey's birthday)01:58 — Today's deep dive: cloning and genetic modification02:07 — "We're not scientists" disclaimer03:04 — Why Tom picked this: CRISPR, the Lone Star tick & a cloned dog04:34 — 1895: the first nuclear transplantation concept06:21 — The 4 things people confuse: cloning, gene editing, de-extinction & chimeras07:07 — Why the 2025 "dire wolf" is really edited gray wolf11:16 — 1952 leopard frogs & John Gurdon's Nobel work12:30 — Dolly the sheep and why she mattered14:00 — Why mules (and ligers) can't reproduce16:46 — How cloning actually works (somatic cell nuclear transfer)20:26 — What we've cloned so far + first primate clones (2018)21:54 — Can you clone your pet? Olivia Rodrigo is back with her third studio album, you seem pretty sad for a girl in love. As the title might suggest, it's a deeply personal affair, with moody soundscapes supporting hyper-detailed lyrics of soul-wrenching depth. This album is a meditation on desire, and intriguingly, the letdown that can occur when desire is fulfilled. Each track is haunted by a band that basically invented the idea of unfulfilled longing, The Cure, who receive multiple direct shout-outs and numerous subtle references. But the album isn't a tribute, or a rip-off. It's a continuation of the voice Rodrigo has been developing ever since she debuted “drivers license” in 2021. It's a sound distinctly her own, with signature techniques to match. The “re-verse” in “Drop Dead,” which we discussed in a prior episode, and a spiraling structure that keeps listeners waiting and waiting for the final word. Tune in to hear how Olivia channels her gothic predilections and fastidious lyrical craft into a powerful emotional payoff.  Songs discussed: Olivia Rodrigo - drop dead, stupid song, u + me =

“Send Coach John a message”I found a gem from a hall of famer, Nancy Lieberman (@NancyLieberman) who shared this truth:  “Life is so ironic, it takes sadness to know what happiness is, noise to appreciate silence and absence to value presence.”  These are simple truths that I usually don't think about too much. Now that I was reminded about it - these sure do make sense. I also need to seek them out more… more happiness, a bit more silence and I'm for sure valuing the presence of people that I love a lot more now. Today's episode of The Rizzuto Show starts with a devastating tragedy that may require federal intervention, congressional hearings, and at least three strongly worded emails: Moon got rejected by the Blue Angels. That's right. After years of dreaming about flying with the legendary flight team, filling out paperwork, getting medical forms completed, and generally doing everything he was supposed to do (allegedly), the Navy said, "Nah." The crew spends way too much time trying to figure out who got the spot instead, throwing out names ranging from Cardinals legends to local celebrities and basically anybody who isn't Moon. Then things somehow get even weirder. The gang debates one of the most ridiculous music questions ever created: if you could only listen to one genre for an entire year, would you choose mumble rap, post-9/11 patriotic country, Christian death metal, or AI-generated EDM? The answers reveal way more about everyone's personalities than anyone intended, and somehow Christian death metal becomes the surprise hero of the conversation. In Crap On Celebrities, the celebrity chaos is firing on all cylinders. Diddy drama takes another bizarre turn, Sabrina Carpenter gets a restraining order against an alleged stalker who apparently thought hiding in a Prius was a good plan, Taylor Swift fans once again convince themselves they're decoding secret messages from the universe, and The Black Crowes find themselves at the center of a USA chant controversy. The crew also dives into the latest music news, including Mick Jagger somehow still having more energy than people half his age, a Gene Wilder biopic that already has everyone fan-casting, and the ongoing debate about whether Val Kilmer was a misunderstood genius or simply impossible to work with. Then comes the emotional destruction.A list of the most heartbreaking animal moments in movie history sends everyone spiraling. From Artax sinking into the Swamp of Sadness in The NeverEnding Story, to Mufasa's death in The Lion King, to Homeward Bound, Fox and the Hound, I Am Legend, and more childhood trauma than any morning radio show should legally be allowed to revisit before noon. If you've ever cried because of a fictional animal, prepare to relive every painful second. It's another completely normal day with The Rizzuto Show, which means absolutely nothing is normal.Whether you're here for celebrity gossip, weird news, movie nostalgia, music debates, or Moon's ongoing battle against aviation-related disappointment, this daily comedy show delivers the perfect mix of laughs, chaos, and emotional damage. Thanks for making us part of your morning. Very few are answered.Moon also shares stories from London, Paris, the European heat wave, questionable airport experiences, and the realization that saving money on flights sometimes costs your sanity. Along the way, the gang debates the worst possible movies to watch while flying on a German airline, and somehow turns Saving Private Ryan into an accidental international incident.Meanwhile, back in St. Louis, the crew talks about the vandalism at Steve's Hot Dogs and why supporting local businesses matters when they're already battling construction, rising costs, and random acts of destruction. The conversation then drifts into National Hot Dog Day planning because apparently that's how professional broadcasters handle serious topics. And just when you think things couldn't get any weirder...A Maryland Heights Hooters becomes the setting for one of the most bizarre crime stories imaginable. Let's just say one customer took "dining in" a little too literally. The crew breaks down the unbelievable details and wonders how someone ends up making that series of life decisions. Also in this episode:Moon's European vacation recapThe great nose hair trimmer debateGerman airport survival tacticsTravel horror storiesSt. Louis hot dog newsGas price hunting strategiesForest Park getting national recognitionStrange airline movie choicesHooters headlines nobody asked forThe usual daily chaos from Rizz and the gangIf you enjoy sarcastic humor, ridiculous travel disasters, bizarre news stories, and a group of friends getting distracted every five seconds, this episode delivers exactly what you'd expect from your favorite daily comedy show. Thanks for making The Rizzuto Show part of your day. Whether you're listening at work, in traffic, or while aggressively researching nose hair trimmers, we're glad you're here. The daily comedy show continues with another episode full of travel fails, unexpected detours, weird news, and the kind of conversations that probably shouldn't happen on a morning radio show.Moon got rejected by the Blue Angels. It's another completely normal day with The Rizzuto Show, which means absolutely nothing is normal. The gang welcomes Ashley Vogt and NHL veteran Jamie Rivers into the studio to celebrate two massive life events: a surprise Nashville engagement and the launch of Synergy Integrated Healthcare. But before anyone can get sentimental, the show immediately derails into a debate about throwing apple cores out of moving vehicles and whether that technically makes you a criminal. Spoiler alert: Missouri law apparently has thoughts.Meanwhile, Moon relives the heartbreak of being passed over for a coveted Blue Angels flight after thinking he was officially cleared for takeoff. The crew spends an alarming amount of time trying to figure out who could possibly be worthy of stealing his seat. Steve Ewing? John Goodman? Wayne Gretzky? Andy Cohen? The investigation continues. As if that wasn't enough, the crew checks in on the internet-famous guy attempting to live in a room for an entire year while livestreaming the experience. He's lost weight, picked up hobbies, and somehow still has fewer viewers than some houseplants on social media. The discussion quickly turns into a philosophical debate about personal sacrifice, family life, and whether staying locked in a room sounds like punishment or a vacation. Then comes Alpha-Gal Syndrome, the tick-borne condition that could potentially rob meat lovers of everything they hold dear. Lern takes a suspicious amount of joy in imagining a future where Riz can't eat meatballs in Europe, while the rest of the room tries desperately not to anger the tick gods.Follow The Rizzuto Show → https://linktr.ee/rizzshow for more from your favorite daily comedy show.Connect with The Rizzuto Show Comedy Podcast online → https://1057thepoint.com/RizzShowHear The Rizz Show daily on the radio at 105.7 The Point | Hubbard Radio in St. Louis, MO.Serial exposer charged for indecent act at Maryland Heights HootersForest Park Named Best City Park in the USA…Again!Outdoor balloon releases illegal in Louisiana starting in AugustSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

(Recorded October 2025) The great Jenny Slate joins Mike this week for a wide-ranging conversation about getting hypnotized after being fired from SNL, a graduation speech Jenny gave to a class of one person, and making art to feel less lonely. Plus, jokes and stories about seeing your friends naked, improv classes for the elderly, and the time Jenny's faked case of appendicitis went too far. In this Huberman Lab Essentials episode, I explain the neural circuits that activate and control aggressive states and behaviors. I discuss how hormones, genes and environmental factors such as day length can shift our aggressive tendencies. I also share science-based tools for modulating aggression, including sunlight exposure, heat therapy and supplementation with ashwagandha or acetyl-L-carnitine.
