Nueta Hidatsa Sahnish College has classes on everything from Native American studies to gardening to equine sciences to the Hidatsa language. Like other tribal colleges and universities (aka TCUs), it's a space where students can get their degrees while steeped in Indigenous traditions and learning techniques. But since the start of this presidential administration, funding for these colleges has been precarious, and tribal college administrators have been left scrambling to make sure they can continue with business as usual. So this week on the show, we're diving deep into what makes tribal colleges unique — and what these spaces mean to the students, faculty and staff who work there.Learn more about sponsor message choices: podcastchoices.com/adchoicesNPR Privacy Policy

Mary Kissel details the challenges facing the State Department and NSC in implementing the Trump administration's urgent Gaza Peace Plan, noting staffing issues are delaying coordination. The plan, featuring an apolitical "Board of Peace," seeks international legitimacy despite the UN's prejudice against Israel. Kissel expresses little surprise regarding the BBC scandal, viewing the deliberate distortion of the President's video remarks as appalling and emblematic of an "embedded bias" against conservatives that is deep and unfixable. 1015-1030 Staffing Challenges and Political Bias: The Gaza Peace Plan and the BBC. She warns that the AfD poses a danger to German democracy and the rule of law. The future hinges on whether established parties can isolate the AfD or if the Constitutional Court will intervene to outlaw the party. Dempsey also notes that the BBC scandal involves the highly scrutinized domestic service, distinct from the generally "exemplary" BBC World Service. 1045-1100 The Rise of the AfD and the Threat to German Democracy. THIRD HOUR 1100-1115 Rare Earths, Global Conflicts, and Reimagining Democracy. Gregory Copley analyzes China's rare earth monopoly, noting it was achieved through low pricing and unsafe practices but is now eroding as global suppliers ramp up production. He reviews current global conflicts, viewing the deployment of the USS Gerald R. Ford battle group near Venezuela as a test of brinkmanship, and citing Kyiv's admission of losses in Ukraine. Copley also argues that democracy is "dead," advocating for a return to defining the spirit of a social contract rather than relying on mutable laws. 1115-1130 Rare Earths, Global Conflicts, and Reimagining Democracy. FOURTH HOUR 12-1215 Conservative Politics and Extremism; The Structural Problems of the BBC. Joseph Sternberg argues that mainstream conservatives must accommodate legitimate right-wing concerns (like immigration) to squeeze out extremists, referencing the German CDU/CSU's successful historical tactic against neo-Nazis. He analyzes the widespread BBC scandal, noting its huge cultural influence in the UK, where it is funded by a mandatory license fee. Ivana Stradner warns that the UN cybercrime treaty, drafted by Russia and supported by China, undermines global human rights and free speech. She argues the treaty is mere "window dressing" enabling authoritarian regimes to pursue digital sovereignty—like Russia's "fake news" laws or China's "golden shield" project—to censor dissent. Stradner suggests that allowing Russia and China to regulate cyberspace is comparable to trusting the arsonist to put out the fire, urging the United States not to ratify the treaty. 1245-100 AM The Modern Marine Corps: MEUs, Amphibious Ship Shortages, and the Role in East Asia. Colonel Grant Newsham discusses the Marine Corps, celebrating its 250th birthday and historic legacy at Belleau Wood. Newsham describes the Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) as a flexible force of about 2,000 Marines aboard amphibious ships, capable of missions from humanitarian aid to combat. A critical challenge is the Navy's low prioritization of amphibious ships, leading to a deployment shortage. In East Asia, Marines are expected to seize key terrain and use long-range precision weapons to control maritime territory, though prioritizing missile units has reduced overall mission versatility.

We're in Sydney with Oleg Vornik, CEO of DroneShield, makers of radio-frequency technology to detect and take down small, hostile drones across 50 countries. While defence demand is rising, airports, data centers, and infrastructure facilities are also looking for protection against small drones used for surveillance, cyber threats, and sabotage. Learn how DroneShield built the world's largest drone signal library, why simply shooting down drones isn’t viable, and why they’re moving to "micro AI" on tiny, self-learning devices. Hear about the “cat and mouse game” between counter-drone developers and drone manufacturers, constantly innovating to avoid detection. Plus, find out why Oleg believes counter-drone activity in public spaces like airports, stadiums, and prisons will grow as drones become a fact of life. Assessing European Reliability in Countering the China Threat to Taiwan. Steve Yates discusses how Europe's reliability in defending Taiwan is questioned, despite the Taiwan Vice President addressing the EU Parliament. Europe has historically lacked a significant defense footprint in East Asia. China exploits the narrative of European colonial history and decline to separate Europe from Taiwan. Although some European leaders prioritize economic opportunity with Beijing, reliable economic partners like Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan offer strong strategic and economic ballast against the risks posed by the People's Republic of China. 1905 shanghai

Are we underestimating how the agentic world is impacting cybersecurity? We spoke to Mohan Kumar, who did production security at Box for a deep dive into the threats of true autonomous AI agents. The conversation moves beyond simple LLM applications (like chatbots) to the new world of dynamic, goal-driven agents that can take autonomous actions. Mohan took us through why this shift introduces a new class of threats we aren't prepared for, such as agents developing new, unmonitorable communication methods ("Jibber-link" mode).Mohan shared his top three security threats for AI agents in production:Memory Poisoning: How an agent's trusted memory (long-term, short-term, or entity memory) can be corrupted via indirect prompt injection, altering its core decisions.Tool Misuse: The risk of agents connecting to rogue tools or MCP servers, or having their legitimate tools (like a calendar) exploited for data exfiltration.Privilege Compromise: The critical need to enforce least-privilege on agents that can shift roles and identities, often through misconfiguration.Guest Socials - Mohan's LinkedinPodcast Twitter - @CloudSecPod If you want to watch videos of this LIVE STREAMED episode and past episodes - Check out our other Cloud Security Social Channels:-Cloud Security Podcast- Youtube- Cloud Security Newsletter If you are interested in AI Cybersecurity, you can check out our sister podcast - AI Security PodcastQuestions asked:(00:00) Introduction(01:30) Who is Mohan Kumar? Domestic Crisis: US Political Conflict Compared to Charles I and the Long Parliament. Gaius and Germanicus, speaking in Londinium, explore a significant domestic threat to the American Empire by drawing an analogy to 1641-1642 England, prior to the regicide of Charles I. They argue that the current US "emperor" is ignoring the repudiation registered by a recent vote, similar to Charles I ignoring the Long Parliament. Gaius fears that relentless impeachment awaits if Democrats dominate Congress. A scenario is hypothesized where a "blue governor" defies a presidential order (e.g., regarding ICE business), is detained, inciting Democratic rage and an overwhelming electoral victory. This state defiance is compared to historical examples like South Carolina against Andrew Jackson. Germanicus notes that escalating defiance by governors like Pritzker or Newsom is currently rhetorical, but an actual confrontation requiring federal force (Marshals, National Guard) would be necessary to truly break the Constitution. Such a confrontation could resemble an insurrection, potentially turning Americans against the president if handled poorly, or against the governor if he seems to be unraveling the Republic. Misperception is identified as a dangerous factor, referencing the panic in London when Charles I sought to arrest six traitors. Gaius insists that things get out of control without an "evil mastermind" and that any political trigger after the 2026 election could lead to impeachment. They agree that participants often fail to see the escalation toward crisis, much like in 1642 or 1914. Germanicus concludes that since Mr. Trump is unlikely to compromise, this lack of restraint could push things "over the edge." 1649

Privately, the royal family had long been bracing for the inevitable fallout surrounding Prince Andrew's association with Jeffrey Epstein. Insiders described an atmosphere of quiet dread within palace walls—where the Duke of York's behavior, arrogance, and questionable friendships were seen as a ticking time bomb. His extravagant lifestyle, insistence on maintaining ties with Epstein even after the financier's first conviction, and tone-deaf interviews all fed the sense that scandal wasn't a matter of if, but when. Behind closed doors, senior royals were said to be exasperated, viewing Andrew as a liability whose judgment could one day drag the monarchy into the kind of moral quagmire it hadn't seen since the abdication crisis. When that shoe finally dropped, with Epstein's arrest and Virginia Roberts Giuffre's allegations thrusting Andrew's name into global headlines, the sense of inevitability inside the palace turned into damage control. The Queen reportedly struggled to balance maternal loyalty with institutional preservation, while Prince Charles and Prince William quietly pushed for exile to protect the crown's reputation. What followed wasn't just a family crisis—it was a confirmation of their worst fears. The royal family's careful machinery of silence, denial, and image management could no longer contain the scandal. Andrew's downfall wasn't sudden; it was the slow-motion collapse they had all seen coming for years.to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.comBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-epstein-chronicles--5003294/support.

“Availability is resilience. If you can't see it, you can't secure it.” — Roland Dobbins, Principal Engineer, NETSCOUT ASERT Team In this Technology Reseller News podcast, Doug Green, Publisher of TR Publications, speaks with Roland Dobbins, Principal Engineer on NETSCOUT's ASERT (Arbor Security Engineering & Response Team), about the growing risk of outbound DDoS attacks—and why service providers and enterprises must defend against threats moving in every direction. NETSCOUT, a global leader in network visibility and DDoS defense, has been monitoring an alarming surge in outbound and cross-network (east-west) attack traffic driven by new “Turbo Mirai” botnets, particularly the Aisuru variant. These attacks can exceed 20 terabits per second and 6 gigapackets per second, overwhelming even the largest operators. Dobbins explains that while most organizations focus on protecting against incoming DDoS traffic, outbound attack streams can be just as damaging, clogging peering links and taking down critical infrastructure. “We're seeing broadband networks unintentionally launching massive attacks, sometimes over a terabit per second, because of compromised IoT and connected devices,” Dobbins said. “It's not just about defending the target — it's about protecting your own network from being part of the problem.” NETSCOUT's ASERT team, which observes 40,000–50,000 DDoS attacks daily across 60% of the world's IPv4 space, provides continuous research and live mitigation guidance to customers worldwide. Dobbins emphasized that effective DDoS defense requires edge-to-edge visibility, sub-second detection, and suppression of both inbound and outbound traffic. “You can't secure what you can't see,” he added. “Operators need full visibility across their networks, with active mitigation built into daily operations.” Learn more about NETSCOUT's global threat research and DDoS defense solutions at netscout.com. Send us a textJoin me for ep 260 Real Housewives of Salt Lake City Season 6 Episode 8 gossip drop where I'm investigating the origins of that explosive TikTok video about Seth Marks allegedly cheating on Meredith, and wait until you hear how Bravo presented it versus what actually happened. I tracked down the influencer who made the video and discovered it was crowd gossip from a comment section, not a firsthand account like Bravo made it seem, and there's a reason why none of the best sleuths in the Bravo landscape could find this video. Then Angie Katsanevis drops a bomb about Todd Bradley allegedly making out with someone in New York who said he smelled like beans, and we discuss my deep dive into Todd's entire history including his previous marriage, his time at Hewlett-Packard, a fraud scandal, and court documents that reveal he and Bronwyn were living in separate states for years. There's a pattern emerging about Todd's behavior and whereabouts that makes this cheating allegation seem very possible. I'm also breaking down the RHOBH trailer and the new girl Amanda Frances McKinney who may have a criminal background nobody knew about, plus I found her arrest details and I'm exposing what appears to be a massive course scam similar to RHOSLC indicted Jen Shah involving high-priced life coaching classes. People are saying they spent thousands and got information available free on YouTube, and Amanda's response to being called a scammer on the show is wild. Plus Denise Richards got her restraining order against Aaron Phypers and he's facing deportation, and I'm continuing my deep dive into Virginia Giuffre's book where she reveals how Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell tracked her down in Australia to threaten her, how her father was allegedly paid off by Epstein, and the legal strategy that finally allowed her case to move forward despite the settlement agreement.TIME CODE HIGHLIGHTS:
