After all the fun and festivities of last week's 400th episodes, we are back with a regular show this week, and the "better late than never" return of the elusive Bex (aka TristaBytes) to the show, to chat TV, film, games... and a disturbing amount of Barbie...Bex has been off doing her other job, presenting on stages around the UK, along with travelling to GamesCon in Germany, so we discuss her recent events... Along with catching Covid, which gave her some time to catch up on TV, which includes reviewing Netflix series 'Mask Girl', and displaying a, frankly, disturbing amount of knowledge on the history of 'Barbie'! Meanwhile, I review the 'Interview With The Vampire' series, which recently landed on iPlayer, and 'Rick and Morty' Season 7 which has returned in the UK on E4 and Channel 4 streaming.Moving onto the news, we begin with all the renews, cancellations and pick-ups this week. We then chat about Freddie Flintoff's payoff from 'Top Gear', 'Star Trek: Prodigy' getting saved by Netflix, a possible 'Seinfeld' return, a huge amount of 'Doctor Who' landing on iPlayer, a possible 'Suits' spin-off, and the problems with 'Daredevil: Born Again'. We have a new episode of the Geektown Radio podcast! This week features the return of Bex, aka TristaBytes, to the show, to chat about the latest UK TV news, films, and UK TV air dates, along with updates about the ongoing Hollywood Strike action... and doing the macarena in a purple bodysuit...Bex has been away working on a super secret project, which she still can't talk about, but did reveal that she got the chance to do some mo-cap work (that motion capture), which involved donning one of those suits covered in table-tennis balls... and yes, apparently there are photos of her looking ridiculous (well, more ridiculous than usual...) She also brings us a review of new film 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem', and chats about rewatching 'Buffy', along with finishing the Apple TV+ show 'Silo'. Meanwhile, I review a new Apple TV+ show, 'Strange Planet', and discuss the final of 'Star Trek: Strange New Worlds', the return of 'Only Murders In The Building', and catching the fabulous Netflix dramedy 'Glamourous'.In the news section, we run through all the renewals, cancellations and pick-ups, and also catch up on the ongoing troubles in Hollywood, with the SAG-AFTRA and WGA strike. We also bring you news of a wonderful-sounding new show from the creative team of Sam Mendes, Jon Brown & Armando Iannucci, which pokes fun at superhero movie franchises!Support this show http://supporter.acast.com/geektown. After a somewhat exausting, but awesome weekend at MCM Comic-Con in London, I'm joined by the lovely Bex from TristaBytes (along with most of her voice...), to discuss things we saw at the event, along with the latest UK TV, TV news and UK TV air dates. As Bex wouldn't be Bex if she wasn't injured in some way before coming on the show, she is just getting over a bout of tonsillitis, so has been binge watching her way through a number of older tv series. This includes chatting about the rather abrupt ending to 'Star Trek: Voyager', and discussing how season one of 'Buffy The Vampire Slayer' stands up today. We also have a long chat about MCM Comic-Con, which returns to London over the weekend, talking about the panels, the geeky merch, and all the other things we saw at the event! In addition to all that, I review the finales of 'Citadel' and 'Mrs. Masiel' on Prime Video, along with reviewing the new Disney+ series 'American Born Chinese', and discussing the recent Apple TV+ shows 'Silo' and 'The Last Thing He Told Me'.In the news section, we run through all the renewals, cancellations and pick-ups, which includes some interesting comedy renewals from the BBC. The Beeb also announced a stack of brand new comedy series, so we talk through those, along with some 'Doctor Who' casting, and another comicbook adaptation landing on Prime Video. We are back with a new episode of the Geektown Radio podcast, and Bex from TristaBytes has finally emerged from her Winter hibernation to join me once again in the co-host chair to chat through and review the week on UK TV, film and gaming, alongside the usual TV news and UK TV air dates. It has been a while since Bex was on the show, but in her time away she was ill (because she wouldn't be Bex unless something wasn't working correctly!), however, that meant she had lots of time to catch up on tv! During her sabbatical, she has been rewatching the beloved ‘Avatar: The Last Airbender', along with 'iZombie', and 'Leverage', so gives us her thoughts on all of those. She also watched the eSports film '1UP' and gives us a review of that too. We also both now know way more about the UK market for "Mr. Blobby" costumes than either of us would like to... Meanwhile, I finally got around to watching 'Everything Everywhere All At Once', so give my thoughts on that, along with new Disney+ superpowered series 'Extraordinary'. We also discuss gaming including 'Stray', 'Anno 1800' and 'Unpacking'.In the news, we run through all the renewals, cancellations and pick-ups such as 'The Last Of Us', 'Titans' and 'Doom Patrol'. We also chat about some casting for 'Superman & Lois', along with the possible development of a 'Tomb Raider' universe at Amazon.Support this show http://supporter.acast.com/geektown. On this week's Geektown Radio podcast, returning from the dark mists of time (or Gamescom in Germany!) to the co-host chair is Bex of TristaBytes to chat through and review the last seven days on UK TV, film, and gaming, alongside the usual TV news and UK TV air dates. With Bex back on the show, talk, of course, turns to gaming, as she has recently returned from the massively huge Gamescom event in Germany... so huge in fact, she got lost, a lot (although, this is Bex we're talking about, so that shouldn't be so surprising!) We also review 'Thor: Love & Thunder' which recently landed on Disney+. That leads to a broader discussion about the state of the MCU overall.Over in the TV news, we chat through all the renewals, cancellations and pick-ups. We discuss 'Superman & Lois' getting a new Jonathan Kent (and explain what happened to the old one). We chat about 'Titans' adding Lex Luthor, various surprise additions to Disney+, and the return of the 'Teletubbies'... The bulk of the maiSupport this show http://supporter.acast.com/geektown. On this episode of the Geektown Radio podcast, Matt from Entertainment Talk returns once again to the co-host chair to chat through and review the last seven days on UK TV, film, and gaming, alongside the usual TV news and UK TV air dates. It turns out Matt and I have both been watching most of the same shows this week, but before we get to those he catches use up with some Twitch and YouTube recommendations. First, our very own TristaBytes as Matt works his way through some of her "Tomb Failer" streams in Twitch. He also highlights PlayStation Access' "Metal Gear Stupid" videos on YouTube, as two idiots play 'Metal Gear Solid' for the first time, watched by their experienced, and somewhat exasperated mate! As we move to talking about TV, we review our return to Westeros in 'House Of The Dragon' on Sky, the return of 'SEE' on Apple TV+, and discuss football docuseries 'Welcome To Wrexham' on Disney+. I also review 'Top Gun: Maverick', and BBC drama 'The Capture', which returned for season two.Over in the TV news, we chat through all the renewals, cancellations and pick-ups. We talk about the latest weird decisions by Warner Bros Discovery over DC, casting for 'The Boys', Catherine Tate returning to the BBC, 'The Good Doctor' getting a spin-off, and Netflix trying again with more video game-to-screen adaptations!Support this show http://supporter.acast.com/geektown. She also revealed she had to be bribed to watch the first episode of 'Stranger Things'... so she gives us some thoughts on that... I would comment "Shame... Shame..." here, but given she hasn't watched 'Game Of Thrones' either, she wouldn't get the reference! Meanwhile, I have been playing more Star Trek Online and discovered you can play through as a classic Star Trek: TOS character, so we discuss that, along with Sky's handling of the Arrowverse "Crisis", 'Cosmos: Possible Worlds' and the return of 'Black Lightning'.In the latest news, the CoVid-19 Coronavirus is still wreaking havoc on the TV and film schedules. We run Disney's new MCU release date line-up, along with discussing the various ways shows are dealing with missing finales, and how the virus is affecting the gaming releases. The Geektown Radio podcast returns for our penultimate show before the Christmas break, and I'm joined by the dread pirate Bex Trista from TristaBytes, who is currently recovering from being a klutz and smashing up her knee... Something which I was, of course, completely sympathetic about... Along with all the usual tv news and air date info, we also have an interview with Olivia Williams, Harry Lloyd & Nicholas Pinnock, three of the stars of StarzPlay's brilliant sci-fi thriller 'Counterpart'.If you haven’t caught the spy thriller yet, it stars J.K. Simmons (J. Jonah Jameson in ‘Spider-man’, and Commissioner Gordon for the DCU), as Howard Silk, a low-level bureaucrat at a seemingly innocuous UN agency, the Office of Interchange or OI. He’s trudging through his latter years of a life filled with regret, that is until he discovers the agency is hiding a secret… It’s protecting a gateway to a parallel universe.Olivia Williams ('Dollhouse', 'The Sixth Sense') plays Emily Silk/Burton, wife (and, confusingly, ex-wife) of Howard Silk, who is way more involved in the spy games than she initially seems. Harry Lloyd (Viserys Targaryen in 'Game Of Thrones') stars as Peter Quayle, the Alpha (aka “our side”) OI Director of Strategy. Nicholas Pinnock ('Fortitude', 'Marcella') portrays Ian Shaw, an aggressive OI Housekeeping operative on the Prime side (aka “the other side”), and former boyfriend of the Prime Emily. On tv, he played Jack Sheridan in 'Charmed', and has popped up in a huge number of shows such as 'Arrow', 'Bones', 'Supernatural', 'Smallville', and 'Lucifer'. On film, he's appeared in 'A Night at the Roxbury', 'White Chicks', 'Unforgiven', 'Freddy vs. Jason', and can soon be seen in 'The Predator', the fourth Predator movie due in UK cinemas on 14th September 2018.Also On This Week's Show:Bex joins me in the co-host so we chat about tv shows and films we've been watching since she was last on. We take a look at all the latest tv & film news, including the latest renewals & cancellations, ‘The Walking Dead’ cast turnover, casting news in general, and Bryan Fuller's status as the Littlest Hobo of the showrunner world. We give you our recommendations for upcoming TV in the next 7 days. See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

Our 6th community issue hails the advent of a brand new mixing desk. And what do we do? We waste it all on talk of mammary spirituality, conspiracy radio, Samurai Pizza Cats, strange instruments, Kiwiland, the return of poll pot, donating one's body for sex, the deep and the dark, viral feminism, death by Dushku, thumbing in a naval, and then we stun the world with a bombshell about rocks.
