Dive into the heart of hard and heavy music news with Emmy Mack and the latest episode of "Hard N Heavy Headlines." This episode is a treasure trove of revelations and surprises, featuring moments that metal and rock enthusiasts wouldn't want to miss. In an unprecedented Oscar moment, iconic metal guitarists Slash and Wolfgang Van Halen graced the stage with a performance from the Barbie Movie, joining forces with Ryan Gosling, Mark Ronson, Andrew Wyatt, and a troop of 65 male dancers to deliver 'I'm Just Ken' in a spectacle of musical mastery. But the surprises don't stop there. Slash, the legendary guitarist known for his work with Guns N' Roses, is set to captivate the blues scene with his upcoming solo album, 'Orgy of the Damned.' This star-studded project boasts collaborations with luminaries such as Brian Johnson, Steven Tyler, Iggy Pop, Demi Lovato, and more, promising a blues experience like no other, set for release on May 17th. The episode also delves into the controversial figure of Marilyn Manson, who announces his live comeback amidst a whirlwind of serious sexual assault allegations. Manson's upcoming North American tour supporting Five Finger Death Punch is discussed in the context of his ongoing legal battles and public scrutiny. Rounding off the episode, Slipknot teases their new drummer, igniting speculation and excitement within the fan community. The band's cryptic social media post of a broken drumstick labeled "REHEARSAL" has fans eagerly anticipating the announcement, with rumors suggesting Eloy Casagrande of Sepultura fame may be joining the fold.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Grammy and Oscar-winning music producer Mark Ronson is known for his party hits, pop songs, and soulful arrangements, producing for stars like Amy Winehouse, Lady Gaga, and Adele. His latest project is the Barbie soundtrack and score. We talk about the year he and his collaborator Andrew Wyatt spent conceptualizing, producing, and composing songs for the album which features Nicki Minaj, Sam Smith, Billie Eilish, and Dua Lipa. Also, book critic Maureen Corrigan reviews The Wren, The Wren by Anne Enright.
Episode 94 features an interview with singer, songwriter and producer Andrew Wyatt, whose voice and tunes you probably know from a few different contexts: In addition to being the frontman and lead songwriter for alt-pop band Miike Snow, Wyatt keeps incredibly busy collaborating as a writer and producer with artists like Dua Lipa, Charlie XCX, Caroline Polachek, Lorde, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and many others. The New York native is also a Grammy and Academy award-winning writer of movie music, notably for A Star Is Born, and the chart-topping soundtrack for Barbie, for which he co-wrote key tracks such as “I'm Just Ken.” AND, as if that wasn't enough, Wyatt is currently on the cusp of putting out his first solo album in a decade, Someday It Won't Feel Like Dying. The album comes out this fall, but a couple of its singles are online here now Wyatt is also a pal of mine, and it was a pleasure to finally do the LSQ podcast with him!

Andrew Wyatt is a musician, songwriter, and producer. He's done everything from winning an Oscar for A Star is Born's "Shallow" to fronting the band Miike Snow. Most importantly, he's a listener, so we have some fun chatting about going to the 50 Cent concert, the heir to Erewhon hand-delivered a Cactus Flea care package to Chris, and we begin to unpack the Tremaine/Supreme split. Sometimes you can go "buck wild" while editing, he lived in LA for 7 years and remembered one day he could just leave, listening to a breakup album vs. writing one, Williamsburg only had one restaurant back in the day, it was Thai, and that's the way we liked it. Being a misdiagnosed schizophrenic, he's not a synth daddy, but he does like synthesis itself, what it's like producing Liam Gallagher records, we break down the song "FourFiveSeconds" by Ri, Ye, and Paul, what it feels like to make a real hit, 50 threw a microphone at a woman's head last night, and shamelessly bug him for a Liam intro. instagram.com/wyattish twitter.com/donetodeath twitter.com/themjeans Learn more about your ad choices. Andrew Wyatt is the CEO and co-founder of Fashion operating system, CALA. Founded in 2016, CALA is the leading fashion supply chain platform that unifies the entire design process – from product ideation all the way through e-commerce enablement and order fulfilment – into a single digital platform. Recently, CALA announced the addition of AI to its platform, becoming one of the first companies to integrate the DALL·E API for a specific enterprise use case. Serving as a “smart sketchpad” this technology allows CALA users to generate new visual design ideas from natural text descriptions or uploaded reference images, a helpful tool for translating ideas into sketches, helping shatter a creative block, or simply adding another “collaborator” to design conversations.Andrew explains how their AI tools work and how they can benefit everyone from inexperienced designers to seasoned creatives and large fashion enterprises, along with Andrew's predictions for the future of fashion AI and production.Links:https://ca.la/thisiscalawhatsfashiontechnologySupport this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/what-even-is-fashion-technology-digital-fashion-podcast/donationsAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy
Dom welcomes Andrew Wyatt, spokesperson for Bill Cosby, back onto the Dom Giordano Program to address rumors that the controversial comic will return to the road for an upcoming standup tour. First, Dom asks the question head on, asking whether Cosby indeed wants to tour, with Wyatt explaining how Mr. Cosby is always serious when he says something, and that he does indeed intend to return to work. Andrew compounds on this statement, explaining a pushback that Cosby has seen in the media when teasing the run, telling what one should actually expect from Cosby in a standup show. Then, Dom asks whether any clubs have shown interest in hosting the comic, with Wyatt revealing that a club owner in South Jersey has offered a quarter million to bring the comedian in. Then, Dom turns to a full analysis of what's happening down on Capitol Hill as Congress votes on the next Speaker of the House, with both Dom and Dan providing live updates, playing back clips, and callers offering their opinion on what went down as Kevin McCarthy lost the primary vote, with his Democratic foe Hakeem Jeffries receiving more votes, but not enough to win Speaker. For years now we have been subjected to the tomfoolery and overall ridiculous behavior of Robert Kelly. Over and over again, his behavior has been excused, dismissed and even completely ignored as "harmless boyish behavior" that "any man would do were he in his position". I take offense to such a vile claim. Who is to say that sexual urges are uncontrollable? All of us have no doubt fantasized about things; there is nothing wrong with that. But, when you take those fantasies to the next level by forcing yourself on or controlling others, that is when you have gone too far. That is called breaking the law. Unfortunately, fans often make excuses for their heroes. They elevate these famous people to an almost god like status, where they can do no wrong. Then we wonder why they would dare do such a thing. Why not? If there are never any consequences for their actions, then why follow any law at all? What is the point? If you are under the impression that you can do no wrong, then why would you ever stop yourself from doing anything? Such is the case with Robert Kelly, a man who believed he was untouchable, that he could get away with anything. Well, that time has swiftly come to an end. As I have said before, the bigger they are, the harder they fall; and the harder they fall, the harder I laugh. There is no such thing as too big to fail, nor is there such a thing as too famous to go to break the law. Social media and proper marketing got R. Kelly off the first time around, but it did not help him this time. "After more than 25 years of accusations and a federal court trial in New York that lasted seven weeks, R&B singer R. Kelly has been found guilty of charges including sexual exploitation of a child, bribery, racketeering and sex trafficking involving five victims. Kelly faces a possible sentence of 10 years to life in prison." (PBS News) Twenty-five years is a long time, especially since everyone knows that R. Kelly married singer Aliyah when she was only fifteen years old. Aliyah's parents eventually had the marriage dismantled. Kelly got a fake identification card for Aliyah so he could marry the singer. A lot of people claim to have love for Aliyah, as well they should; she is undoubtedly one of the best performers to ever live. But what kind of love makes it okay for a grown ass man to have sex with a fifteen year old girl? You are aware that women experience difficulty giving birth at such an age, right? You should be. Your actions have consequences and you need to recognize those consequences. What we should not be doing is making excuses for people with power; that only serves to bolster the culture of abuse that we have created. Kelly deserves jail time for his heinous crimes. Yet Bill Cosby gave an interview to defend Kelly because he knows how easily you all can be swayed by the love of celebrity, "Cosby believes the pervy singer “was screwed” and that “he wasn't going to catch a break” during the month-long trial, according to his spokesman, Andrew Wyatt...“The deck was stacked against Robert,” said Wyatt. “His constitutional rights were grossly abused. I don't know anywhere but in this country in the United States that a documentary can bring criminal charges against someone.” The deck was stacked against the guy who got away with banging teenagers for years, hey? Thanks for the cracker jack analysis Bill, but I think I'll stick with the law on this one. This just shows that those who prey together, stay together. They all protect each other, these abusers, because they know that kind and decent humans would rather have them in jail, not running around touching little girls. Have some more pudding and sit down. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/morecontentplease/support

Shelley Wynter sits down with Andrew Wyatt and he opens up about Bill Cosby charges, trial, sentencing and the most important part: His release
Andrew Wyatt is the spokesman for Bill Cosby, standing by him in the run up to his trial and his conviction in Pennsylvania, and greeting him at the prison gates when he was released from prison after the State Supreme Court threw out the conviction. Who is Andrew Wyatt? And what does a spokesman do? Few Americans have enjoyed the celebrity status that Bill Cosby enjoyed. And none have fallen so far and so quickly from grace. Will Cosby engage in a comeback tour? If he does, I'm betting Andrew Wyatt will be by his side. I just love this guy. In this wide-ranging interview, Wyatt talks about his childhood, his work, how he met Bill Cosby, and the challenges of representing 'America's Dad' to a media that turned surly during the what appears as the prologue to the #MeToo hysteria. What's next for Bill Cosby? Did prison change him? Just how did his lawyers permit the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to promise Cosby effective immunity and then turn around and prosecute him? Wyatt's at once quick-witted, charming, and, from time-to-time, funny as hell. I suspect his endearing qualities are a product of the time his spent on Detroit's east side, where I, too, emerged from adolescence into the bright lights of adulthood confusion and angst. And did you know that Wyatt and Cosby are fraternity brothers, both members of Omega Psi Phi? Listen in to find out how Law and Legitimacy's host, Norm Pattis, also developed a connection to the fraternity. Join Norm Pattis's growing subscriber base on Patreon. In Part 2 of this interview with guitarist and song writer, Anthony Rossomando, it all stalls out and the money dries up. But what in retrospect looks like a long quest for meaning somehow leads to sobriety and the now legendary collaboration with Gaga, Mark Ronson and Andrew Wyatt. I had - in truth - forgotten how powerfully Shallow hit me when I first heard it in A Star Is Born, but man— this conversation brings it all back and reveals the crazy magic that led to that song.
Anthony Rossomando is a song writer and guitarist who is perhaps most famous for his work with the English rock band The Libertines and for writing (with Lady Gaga, Mark Ronson and Andrew Wyatt) the achingly beautiful song "Shallow" which became the centerpiece of the most recent remake of A Star Is Born. In this first part of a two part interview he shares stories of the early years: his musical influences, his time in the Boston area band The Damn Personals and tales of fear and loathing and excess on the road as a rock star.
