Dr. Glen Jeffery, PhD, is a professor of neuroscience at University College London and a leading expert on how different colors (wavelengths) of light impact cellular, organ and overall health. He explains that long-wavelength light (red, near-infrared and infrared) can enter the body and brain to enhance mitochondrial function and thereby improve metabolism, eyesight, blood glucose regulation, mood, hormones and more. We also discuss how short-wavelength light from LED bulbs can impair mitochondrial health and why balanced, full-spectrum light is essential for health. Dr. Jeffery shares simple yet powerful ways to use natural and artificial light sources to enhance your metabolic function, eyesight and longevity. 555: An Inconvenient Study: Are Vaccinated Or Unvaccinated Children Healthier? With Del Bigtree

The study we've been waiting for is finally here! The head of infectious disease, Dr. Marcus Servos, at Henry Ford Health conducted a retrospective study of vaccinated children v. unvaccinated children to document their health outcomes. He promised that he would publish the results but then decided not to. Why not? The answer may have to do with the "inconvenient" results of the study. They did not confirm the expectations of the pro-vaccine Dr. Zervos. But Del Bigtree, the CEO of ICAN (Informed Consent Action Network)and host of The HighWire, decided to get the results out to the world through the film "An Inconvenient Study". As Executive Producer, Del focused on the very results that Dr. Zervos did not want revealed. There were statistically significant better health outcomes for the unvaccinated children over the vaccinated. In this conversation, Del tells us what led up to the study being conducted and why he decided to secretly record conversations with the doctor who did not want to publish it. The implications of the results are staggering and they invite scientists and the general public alike to reexamine their presuppositions about the efficacy of vaccines and to consider the real harm these may be causing our children. Codependency is an umbrella term used to describe a broad spectrum of emotional, mental and behavioral, subconscious, and automatic trauma responses developed in early childhood as an adaptation to chronic, inescapable stress. While over-functioning as a small child, to avoid rejection, the child's nervous system learns to scan their environment for potential threats. This scanning is called hypervigilance, and it also exiles the inner child into an abyss. Children of toxic, dysfunctional parents, families, and circumstances are denied the compassionate adult, whose role is to mentor, teach, and guide a child in a way that nurtures a positive sense of self. The very basics of healthy human interraction are not modeled. A child who has learned they must scan their environment must: Use their conscious waking hours scanning their parents' facial expressions, moods, and tones--while this is occurring, a child is learning how to morph and adapt, rather than explore the inner self, their inner child, their inner landscape Abandoning the self, including their innate needs, wants, emotions, and right to be authentic, to avoid further emotional neglect, abuse, bullying, or rejection—while this survival response was useful during childhood, the adult child eventually learns that they often don't know what they want or need. This can be a frustrating experience in therapy and relationships. If you are codependent, you may have felt frustrated in therapy when asked, "What do you need" What do you want?"  Codependents do not know what they need.  They Struggle to Trust Their Inner World Codependency is built on self-abandonment. Many codependents grew up in environments where their emotions were dismissed, mocked, punished, or ignored. Carl Jung would say their inner child—what he called the "Divine Child"—was exiled. So when asked: "What do you feel?" "What do you want?" "What do you need?" …they genuinely do not know. This creates enormous frustration in therapy, because the inner world feels foreign, inaccessible, or even dangerous. The codependent has learned to trust external authority over inner intuition. Reconnecting with the inner self requires time, patience, and the slow dismantling of shame. Therapy asks them to return to a Self they have never been allowed to meet. The journey back home must be slow, steady, and compassionate; otherwise, therapy can sometimes cause more harm than good and lead to a codependent person trying to please the therapist, thereby reenacting a facet of their adaptation survival response. Begin Your Healing Journey: Lisa introduces her signature 12 Week Breakthrough Method—a trauma-informed, neuroscience-based coaching program created specifically for adult children of narcissistic, neglectful, or emotionally immature caregivers.   Inside the program, you'll be guided through: Brain retraining techniques rooted in neuroscience Inner child healing and self-concept reorganization Neuroscience Backed Journaling prompts and assessments to increase self-awareness Tools to stop subconscious self-abandonment and start living from your true self Embrace shadow work from a higher state of consciousness to experience integration This method has helped thousands heal from complex trauma and break toxic generational patterns, with tools to rewire limiting beliefs and build authentic self-worth.

5/8 Princelings, Purges, and the Politics of Red Nostalgia — Tanya Branigan — Princelings Bo Xilai and Xi Jinping, both children of senior Communist leadership, were themselves CR victims, experiencing persecution and hardship. Bo Xilai, known for his conspicuous personal style, strategically exploited CR nostalgia by promoting "red songs" celebrating the revolutionary era. Xi Jinping, though more rhetorically restrained, similarly adopted ideological and sentimental appeals to revolutionary memory. This return to Maoist mythology attracts grassroots constituencies seeking transcendent meaning, ideological purity, and moral certainty amid contemporary economic disruption and pervasive institutional corruption. 1967

In this tender and hope-filled conversation, Ginny sits down with beloved children's author Sally Lloyd-Jones, whose Jesus Storybook Bible has shaped the spiritual childhood of millions of kids (including the Yurichs'!). Sally shares her remarkable backstory - being born in Uganda, growing up in East and West Africa, going to boarding school at age eight, and how God used both beauty and early wounds to form her as a writer. She and Ginny talk about her brand-new book Jesus, Our True Friend: Stories to Fill Your Heart with Joy, and what it means to write children's stories that are playful, deeply theological, and never “dumbed down.” Along the way, Sally explains the heart behind unforgettable phrases like “extra super holy people,” why Jesus' first miracle at a wedding is all about restoring joy, and how good children's books quietly preach hope without ever becoming preachy. The conversation also turns deeply personal as Ginny shares the painful story of her family being kicked out of their church after raising concerns about a youth pastor who was later arrested on multiple felony charges. Together, she and Sally reflect on spiritual abuse, disillusionment with “extra super holy” leaders, and the miracle of God still meeting children directly in the middle of heartbreak. Ginny tells how her youngest daughter found comfort and theological clarity in the Joseph story from the Jesus Storybook Bible, using Sally's words to interpret her own church trauma and see God's redemption at work. From bullied kids to exhausted “Martha” moms, from online mobs to stone-throwers in Scripture, this episode is a balm for anyone who needs to remember that Jesus is a true friend who loves us before we ever “get it right", with a never stopping, never giving up, unbreaking, always and forever love. Hey everyone, I wanted to let you all know that I'll be giving online classes starting this January, and that I'm still accepting new people for the very first class. I recommend doing so asap as I've already had to open up a second class due to that amazing response I've received so far. All details below. The class is entitled “Beware of Small States: An overview of Lebanon from 1975 to 2025.” We will go beyond sensationalist headlines and shallow coverage, and beyond simplistic, top-down explanations for the country. Instead of a linear timeline of events, which you can get from Wikipedia anyway, you will get a messy one. After all, politics is not linear. Political actors evoke events from the recent or not-so-recent past as part of their politics in the present. In addition to the structured syllabus, I will use personal stories as someone who grew up in Lebanon in a very conservative, at times even Far Right, Christian environment, to explain how my own personal journey away from right-wing and towards left-wing, quasi-anarchist, politics has helped me understand Lebanon better, and hopefully help you too.RegisterJust send me an email at ayoub@thefirethesetimes.com or a Signal message @ ayoub.02. I will send you the syllabus as well as all the required details including how to pay for the class if you're interested in taking it.When? Weekly from Saturday Jan 17th, 4pm UK time. 5 sessions. You can already register your interest by email or Signal to those as well - and I'll just send you an email or text when they're ready. The Ghosts of Israel's Future, looking at what the horrors unleashed by Israel during the ongoing genocide reveal about that country's politics, and the people, Jews, Israelis and Palestinians alike, who predicted it. Estimated fee is $300 for 5 sessions. Against Multipolar Imperialism, looking at why we cannot accept multipolarity as a valid alternative to a US-dominated world, especially as that involves accepting authoritarian states and effectively sacrificing whole populations as collateral. We will look at China, Taiwan, Ukraine, Russia, so-called Xinjiang and Inner Mongolia, Hong Kong, Syria, Israel-Palestine, Iran, El Salvador, Argentina, Tigray and Ethiopia, Bosnia and of course Lebanon. Relationships in HD — Letters to Our Children (Father's Day) Description: On Father's Day, Eric zooms in on one of our most sacred callings: being living letters of Jesus to our kids and the next generation. Before we ever talk parenting strategy, he goes straight to the foundation—reconciliation with God through Jesus. From 2 Corinthians 5, we see what it really means to be “in Christ”: rescued from sin and hell, made new, adopted, and kept forever by a God who cannot lie. From there, Eric reminds us that our families are our first mission field. We're not called to sacrifice our kids on the altar of ministry—or to worship them as little gods—but to model a faith that is real, humble, and dependent on grace. Our children (and the kids in our church) “read” us long before they understand a sermon; we are living epistles, showing them what Jesus is like in how we love, repent, forgive, correct, and prioritize. With stories about Peter sinking and being rescued, kids coming to Christ, “Happy Birthday Jesus” gifts, Santa vs. grace, and the dangers of child-centered homes, this message calls moms, dads, grandparents, and spiritual parents to embrace their ministry of reconciliation—starting at home—and to help little hearts meet a big Savior. Key Scriptures (NKJV): John 3:16; 2 Corinthians 3:1–3; 2 Corinthians 5:17–21; 1 Peter 2:24; Romans 5:8; Matthew 14:28–31; Titus 1:2; Genesis 22:1–18; Mark 10:13–16. Highlights: What it really means to be “saved”: rescued from sin, hell, and death, and made a new creation in Christ. God as Father: not everyone is automatically a child of God—adoption comes through Jesus. You are a “living letter”: your kids (and church kids) are learning what Jesus is like by watching you. Family as first ministry: don't sacrifice your family on the altar of ministry—and don't worship your children either. Using the tools God gives: church, kids' ministry, pastors, and mentors as allies in bringing children to Jesus. Teaching grace at home: gifts as a picture of the gospel and why “Santa theology” (earn it) is the opposite of grace (receive it). Hope for imperfect parents: when you fail, repentance and honesty become a powerful testimony of God's mercy. Next Steps: Ask God to show you one child (yours or in your church) you can intentionally point to Jesus this week. Pray 2 Corinthians 5:20 over yourself as an “ambassador,” then choose one concrete way to model grace at home—an apology you need to make, a conversation about the gospel, or a simple act of undeserved kindness that reflects your Father's heart.

    Redemption Church KC Sermon Podcast

    1. The scripture passage today, the first of the church calendar's year, was Isaiah 2:1-5. Here's the version Cole read from the NLT: https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Isaiah%202%3A1-5&version=NLT Re-read or review this passage as a group. What does it tend to evoke in you? Prior to Cole's teaching today, what has this passage generally communicated to you (if it's one with which you're familiar)?Cole talked about two common interpretations: one centered on the idea that a baby can save us all. The other generally conveys the idea that someday humans will step aside and God will fix everything. How close are these interpretations to what you have tended to think this passage is communicating? How did they differ? How do these interpretations strike you? In what ways do either or both of these interpretations appeal to you? In what ways might you feel resistance to them?2. In his message, Cole said “God is not interested in preserving hope like an artifact in a museum.” He went on to say that Christianity is not that interested in preserving things in the way that they used to be. And that, instead, Christianity‘s radical message is that hope can die - and that a new hope can be resurrected again… And again… And again. Spend a few moments, considering these ideas about the nature of God and Christianity. What are your initial responses? What thoughts and feelings are surfacing for you as you consider? Are there things that feel reassuring about these ideas? Are there things that feel frightening?Consider your responses, and reflect on the origins of your own sense of Christianity's relationship to hope and/or how it functions. Does considering the places and ways in which you learned to understand these ideas shift anything for you? If so, how so?3. Ultimately, the message Cole identified in both the passage from Isaiah and the movie, The Children of Men, that he used to explicate these ideas is that, “Like Christ, hope sometimes dies… but it comes back.”He went on to say that if our [Christian/Biblical] stories are anything, they are a public record for the world that “hope does not stay dead. It doesn't.”How do you respond to these statements about the inevitability of resurrected hope? How congruent are they with your sense of what hope is and how it functions? Do you have stories in your own past that make it harder or easier to believe in these statements about the inevitability of hope's resurrection?Where in your life today is hope dead, dying, or threatening to flicker out? How do you feel about the idea of hope's resurrection in the context of those circumstances? How difficult does it seem to believe? Whether you feel doubtful or encouraged or something else entirely, why do you think you might be feeling that way?

Before God brought the Children of Israel into the Promised Land, he first took them through the desert, in the liminal space, in order to shape them and equip them for the Promised Land. Likewise, God will often take us through our desert to prepare us for what is to come, and that is often where we experience His glory.

A venue on fire, flooded conference spaces, the voices of the people defending the science of what humanity, as a collective, has to do to avoid catastrophe, ignored; yet the presence of the protesters was loud, colorful and purposeful, even babies were there to rebel against a system that values commodities and profit over human life. Here's a mosaic I have created with the articles that I selected as a summary of what the Conference of the Parties offered us all. Offering no new plans to cut fossil fuels, the UN's climate conference failed to produce a roadmap to stop global warming. We hear about many protesters and Victorias Amazonicas fighting for us all, insisting like their indigenous fellow protesters: NOTHING ABOUT, US WITHOUT US! I share a moving testimony by a Xipai journalist and conclude with another of Sebastiáo Salgado's magnificent publications. Children, Enfants, Kinder features 90 children; they mirror eyes of the past, the present, the feature; the most innocent among us who will in fact, suffer the most if we continue to fail to act to confront the climate emergency.
