//The Wire//2300Z December 23, 2025////ROUTINE////BLUF: MEXICAN NAVY AIRCRAFT CRASHES IN GALVESTON, 2X SURVIVORS RESCUED BY GOOD SAMARITANS. INVESTIGATION INTO BROWN UNIVERSITY CONTINUES.// -----BEGIN TEARLINE----- -International Events-Caribbean: Yesterday the Pentagon announced the shelling of another narco-submarine, which was sunk in the Eastern Pacific Ocean. One individual was reported killed during the strike, though a full Battle Damage Assessment (BDA) has not been provided due to the nature of the submersible craft making it hard to count home many people were really on board.-HomeFront-Texas: Last night a Mexican Navy aircraft transporting medical patients crashed in the waters off the coast of Galveston while attempting to land. The flight was carrying medical patients who were to undergo surgery at the Shriner's Children's Hospital in Galveston. So far, of the 8x people onboard the aircraft 5x fatalities have been confirmed, with 2x survivors and one individual remaining missing.Analyst Comment: The accident appears to be the result of poor visibility at the time of the crash, and the fact that anyone survived at all is a sheer miracle. One woman was rescued from the wreckage by a good Samaritan who responded to the crash site, jumped in the water, and pulled her from the airframe. Other volunteers also helped recover everyone they could from the debris before it sank. The status of the survivors is not clear, however all were in extremely serious condition when they were rescued from the aircraft.Pennsylvania: This afternoon an explosion was reported at the Silverlake Nursing Home in Bristol. A mass casualty situation was declared as a significant blast destroyed part of the structure. Analyst Comment: At the time of this report, this is a developing situation and the casualty count is not yet known. The cause of the blast is also not confirmed, however initial assessments suspect this may have been the result of a natural gas leak.-----END TEARLINE-----Analyst Comments: As the investigation into the Brown University shooting has continued, more information has come to light that clarifies some details of the incident. The Chief of the Brown University campus Police Department has been placed on leave as testimony indicates the shooter was observed acting suspiciously within the Barus and Holley building in the weeks leading up to the mass shooting. Derek Lisi, the custodian who works within the engineering building complex, stated that he reported the shooter to security over a dozen times for acting suspiciously. His tips were ignored and no investigation was launched.Regarding the lack of security camera footage, some useful information has actually arisen from a journalist during a press conference. The press conferences involving Chief Perez, AG Neronha, and others have become regularly disastrous to the point that even journalists are becoming hostile toward how poorly this is being handled. During one press conference, a journalist started asking a question which rapidly became more of a tirade, which accused the officials of something very specific. The journalist stated that the reason for certain cameras not functioning is because they were actually taken down completely at the request of a few dozen different activist groups, who wrote letters to Brown University demanding the school protect illegal immigrant students. So far this has not been confirmed as it's very unlikely for Brown University to incriminate themselves now (the press conferences have definitely become a "plead the fifth" kind of arrangement at this point). However, if this is true, this would line up with the initial suspicions expressed during the early moments after the shooting. Removing security cameras for social justice reasons has always been a main theory from the very start, and now it's looking

This episode explores one of the most compelling areas of near-death research: documented spiritual near-death experiences reported by children. While adult accounts of NDEs are widely discussed, children's experiences offer a distinct and often unsettling clarity. With minimal exposure to religious doctrine or cultural narratives about death, children tend to describe what they experienced without symbolic overlay, interpretation, or fear.Drawing on named, traceable cases documented by pediatrician and researcher Melvin Morse, as well as long-term analyses by P.M.H. Atwater, this episode focuses on what children themselves reported after surviving life-threatening events such as drowning, cardiac arrest, and severe illness. In case after case, children described leaving their physical bodies with little distress and observing medical resuscitation efforts from an external vantage point. Several accounts included accurate descriptions of hospital rooms, procedures, or family members' actions during periods when the child was clinically unresponsive. These observations were later corroborated by medical staff or parents.Beyond out-of-body perception, many children reported entering environments characterized by intense light, vivid landscapes, or a sense of peace and safety. Unlike adult accounts, children rarely described judgment, life reviews, or moral evaluation. Instead, their experiences emphasized belonging, familiarity, and unconditional acceptance. Morse noted that children often struggled to describe the light they encountered, insisting it was not merely visual but relational, something that “knew” them. Some of the most striking cases involved children encountering deceased relatives they had never consciously known. In multiple documented instances, children identified grandparents or siblings who had died before they were born, later recognizing them in photographs. These encounters were described casually, without surprise, as if meeting someone expected. The episode also examines what happened after children returned. Long-term follow-up interviews revealed consistent aftereffects: reduced fear of death, heightened empathy, and an increased sensitivity to others' emotions. Many children spoke calmly about dying and, in some cases, reassured adults during later illnesses or family crises. These statements were framed not as beliefs, but as memories.Importantly, the children themselves did not question the reality of their experiences. Years later, many maintained that what happened was not a dream or hallucination. This certainty was typically quiet and private, shaping their outlook without becoming performative or doctrinal.By focusing on named cases preserved in published research and presentations associated with the International Association for Near-Death Studies, this episode avoids speculation and instead centers on testimony. Children do not offer explanations for what they experienced. They simply describe where they went, and insist that it was real. https://www.pastliveshypnosis.co.uk/https://www.patreon.com/ourparanormalafterlifeMy book 'Verified Near Death Experiences' https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DXKRGDFP Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. What do you do when your child keeps sinning, especially when it's become a pattern? In this episode, Elizabeth Urbanowicz walks parents through a biblical approach to discipline that goes beyond stopping behavior and aims at the heart: confession, repentance, putting off sin, putting on what's right, and implementing wise consequences that train children toward godliness.
From a newborn's first trip home to the day a teenager buckles into the driver's seat, car rides are milestones throughout childhood. Between those moments lie years of transition: rear-facing to forward-facing seats, boosters to seat belts, and countless opportunities for confusion, error and learning. This episode breaks down the latest recommendations in child passenger safety, addresses common misconceptions, and offers practical guidance pediatricians can use to help families keep children safe at every stage. This episode was recorded on the exhibit floor of the 2025 American Academy of Pediatrics National Conference in Denver, Colorado. Meghan Beucher, MD, is an assistant professor of emergency medicine and pediatrics, as well as a trained child passenger safety technician instructor, with Hasbro Children's Hospital and the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. Raquel Denis, MD, is an assistant professor of pediatrics at Prisma Health and the University of South Carolina, as well as a child passenger safety technician. Some highlights from this episode include: When to switch from rear facing to forward facing seats Why medical guidance can differ from local laws How to best support families unfamiliar with car seat safety Why recommendations have changed in recent years For more information on Children's Colorado, visit: childrenscolorado.org.

Jason Gilley walked into adulthood with a fastball, a college roster spot, and a head of curls that deserved its own agent. Cancer crashed that party and took him on a tour of chemo chairs, pediatric wards, metal taste, numb legs, PTSD, and the kind of late night panic that rewires a kid before he even knows who he is.I sat with him in the studio and heard a story I know in my bones. He grew up fast. He learned how to stare down mortality at nineteen. He found anchors in baseball, therapy, and the strange friendships cancer hands you when it tears your plans apart. He owns the fear and the humor without slogans or shortcuts. Listeners will meet a young man who refuses to let cancer shrink his world. He fights for the life he wants. He names the truth without apology. He reminds us that survivorship stays messy and sacred at the same time. This conversation will stay with you.RELATED LINKS• Jason Gilley on IG• Athletek Baseball Podcast• EMDR information• Children's Healthcare of AtlantaFEEDBACKLike this episode? This episode is back as a replay because the conversation is still incredibly relevant—and the questions around PECS and AAC haven't gone away. In this episode, we take a thoughtful, nuanced look at the Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) and its role in supporting autistic communication. While PECS has been widely used for decades, growing research, lived experience, and neurodiversity-affirming practice are prompting professionals to ask deeper questions about autonomy, flexibility, and what true communication really looks like. I'm joined by speech-language pathologists Paulina Elias and Dr. Amanda Blackwell from Natural Communication for a powerful discussion about how PECS originated, what it does well, and where it can fall short—especially when communication is limited to requesting or tightly controlled exchanges. We explore why many clinicians are shifting toward multimodal, child-led AAC approaches that support regulation, self-expression, and authentic connection. You'll hear us unpack topics like honoring a child's right to say "no," moving away from hand-over-hand prompting, and choosing communication tools that grow alongside a child rather than restricting them. Whether you're a parent, educator, or therapist, this replay episode offers updated perspectives that may challenge old assumptions—and help you feel more confident in supporting communication that is respectful, functional, and truly empowering.

A Prayer for Children's Deliverance In this episode of the Warfare Prayer Podcast, we come together in prayer for our children — believing God for deliverance, protection, and freedom. As parents and caregivers, we often see battles our children face that feel beyond our reach. This prayer is a reminder that nothing is beyond God's power. Through scripture-guided prayer, we call on God to break every chain, silence every harmful influence, and restore peace, clarity, and righteousness in the lives of our children. Whether your child is facing fear, confusion, rebellion, addiction, peer pressure, or spiritual opposition, this prayer invites God's covering and authority over their life. This is a prayer for mothers, fathers, grandparents, and anyone standing in the gap — trusting God to do what only He can do.
This is Part One of a conversation with Lucy Butler of River Haven Animal Sanctuary, Dr Stephanie Jones and her grad student, Sofia Abuin Dr. Jones is new to Equiosity. She graduated with her PhD in Behavior Analysis from West Virginia University in 2021. Her primary research focuses on effects of implementer errors that occur during well-established behavioral treatments. To meet this aim, she conducts laboratory and applied research with the aim of supporting development of robust behavioral interventions. She started teaching and conducting research at Salve Regina University in 2021 and is the principal investigator for the Translational Research and Applied Intervention Lab. Through her lab, she supports research engagement of students at the undergraduate, master's, and doctoral training levels. She publishes in and reviews for several peer-reviewed behavior-analytic journals, such as the Journal of Applied Behavior Analysis and Education and Treatment of Children. Good training is very much emphasizes the importance of taking the time to build a relationship with the individuals you're interacting with. We modeled that in Part One. Dominique and I were meeting Stephanie and Sophia for the first time in this recording. So instead of jumping straight in to the study Stephanie and her collegues conducted at River Haven, we began by talking about coercion, control, and even more about empathy.
Bill Saltmarsh joins me to discuss where a modern CDO gets the inspiration to “operate in the producty way” in his domain, which is healthcare. Now Vice President of Enterprise Data and Transformation and the Chief Data Officer at Children's Mercy Kansas City, his early days as an analyst revealed a gap between what stakeholders asked for vs. the outcomes they sought. This convinced him that data teams need to pause, ask better questions, and prioritize meaningful outcomes over quickly churning out dashboards and reports. Bill and I discuss how a producty mindset can be embedded across an organization. He also talks about why data leaders must set firm expectations. We explore the personal and cultural shifts needed for analysts and data scientists to embrace design, facilitation, and deeper discovery, even when it initially seems to slow things down. We also examine how to define value and ROI in healthcare, where a data team's impact is often indirect. By tying data efforts to organizational OKRs and investing in governance, strong data foundations, and data literacy, he argues that analytics, data, and AI can drive better decisions, enhance patient care, and create durable organizational value. Over the past twenty years, one state after another has shuttered its youth prisons and stopped trying youth as adults, slashing the number of children locked in cages by a stunning 75 percent. How did this remarkable change come about? In our latest, we talk with journalist and author Nell Bernstein about youth prisons, policing and how this remarkable change happened. What if the most game-changing shift in your life is a three-letter word you've been afraid to use?In this episode of Men Talking Mindfulness, hosts Will Schneider and Jon Macaskill sit down with Jim Alling—former President of Starbucks, COO of T-Mobile USA, and CEO of TOMS—to explore how the simple word yes, paired with gritty gratitude and servant leadership, can transform the way men lead, live, and relate.Jim shares how saying yes to the right things—family, values, service, and curiosity—helped him navigate massive responsibility: tens of thousands of employees, billions in revenue, and the pressure of leading globally recognized brands. He also gets honest about the real cost of hustle culture, what burnout feels like at the top, and why the most effective leaders are often the most human. In this conversation, you'll hear:• How one mentor at Starbucks taught Jim the “power of yes”• Why he chose family and his child's health over a secure corporate path• What gritty gratitude looks like when life is hard—not polished• The difference between performative leadership and servant leadership• Why men who “have it all together” often feel empty inside• How to say yes without becoming a doormat (values, boundaries, clarity)• How humility, humor, and service kept Jim grounded across Nestlé, Starbucks, T-Mobile, and TOMSIf you're a man caught between success and burnout—or you lead people and want to make a real difference without losing your soul—this episode is for you. You'll walk away with:✅ A new understanding of yes as a doorway to purpose✅ A servant-leadership blueprint that still delivers results✅ Tools to integrate gratitude into pressure and responsibility✅ Encouragement to lead as your whole self—not just your titleSponsorPeptides for Health by Mark L. In this throwback episode, Jon takes on the Santa question: the moment every parent eventually faces when wonder collides with honesty. Framed around the tension between magic and trust, he explores how Santa works in a child's developing brain and why the real issue isn't whether Santa is “real,” but how we show up when kids ask big questions. Parents will walk away with clarity, compassion, and practical ways to navigate Santa conversations in a way that protects imagination, emotional safety, and the parent-child relationship. She leads a Ukrainian think-tank on security and defence, Sahaidachnyi Security Center, and is board member of Ukraine's biggest expert coalition on the country's reconstruction, RISE Ukraine. Previously, Ogryzko served as international civil servant across the UN system, dealing with human rights and the coordination of UN agencies in Ukraine. She also worked for the Ukrainian government on the implementation of reforms, including in public administration for the cabinet of ministers' reforms delivery office. She is also the co-founder of several civic initiatives, as well as the Ukrainian office of the humanitarian international NGO Save the Children. Prior to that, Ogryzko worked for the Spanish think-tank FRIDE, researching international affairs. She is the author of numerous publications in international media on the Russia-Ukraine war, Ukraine's reconstruction, and the country's civil society.Ogryzko holds an MA in international relations and security studies from the Institute of international relations at the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv and an MA in European public affairs from the Maastricht University, the Netherlands.----------LINKS:https://ecfr.eu/profile/lesia-ogryzko/https://www.linkedin.com/in/lesia-ogryzko-33285163/https://x.com/ogryzko_lhttps://ecfr.eu/profile/lesia-ogryzko/type/media/https://defence.org.ua/en/tag/lesia-ogryzko/----------The Steel Porcupine https://www.thesteelporcupine.com/I'm proud to say that this series of ‘Ukrainian advent' interviews is supported by The Steel Porcupine – a unique and powerful film about a country that refuses to lie down, a people who turned themselves into a fortress of needles when Russian tanks rolled in. The Steel Porcupine is an unforgettable cinematic experience that exposes Russia's campaign of extermination in Ukraine, and the Ukrainian people's spirit to resist and prevail. It follows soldiers, volunteers and people who decided that survival meant resistance, not submission.Created by the makers of the acclaimed To the Zero Line, this is another film about humanity, that clearly states there is no such thing as neutrality when war crimes are being committed systematically by Russia, and on a scale in Europe only comparable to World War Two. Set to a haunting soundtrack featuring music by Philip Glass, and blending rare archival footage with original material, it is an impactful work of art and storytelling, as well as being informative.----------SUPPORT THE CHANNEL:https://www.buymeacoffee.com/siliconcurtainhttps://www.patreon.com/siliconcurtain----------TRUSTED CHARITIES ON THE GROUND:Save Ukrainehttps://www.saveukraineua.org/Superhumans - Hospital for war traumashttps://superhumans.com/en/UNBROKEN - Treatment.
