this is a comedy ""podcast"" btw believe it or not. It is a joke, it is parody, it is satire. It is not serious; it is not meant to be taken seriously. I do not condone the physical harming or even light harassment of real estate agents in any way shape or form. Do not call, text, or email Jeffrey Doussan or Keller Williams of New Orleans. Do not write funny bad reviews on yelp or google or furnished finder. Do not send pipe bombs or bomb threats to his house or any of his listed properties. I mean it! If you do any of these things you will be banned from podcasts forever. Thank you enjoy the show. Looking at rentals is really fun cuz real estate agents and property managers are some of the most redacted and oblivious people you have to trust with your livelihood. Recently I had scheduled to see a place and the guy no showed, no contact I messaged and emailed him multiple times and 3 days later he texted "apologies out of town." He then proceeds to try to reschedule immediately for the next day at 11am I say can we do 2pm he says no we can't let's do Monday 2pm I say okay Monday 2pm he says great I say great and then he says actually we can do tomorrow Friday 2pm i say perfect cool then Friday at 11am he says you must think we're crazy but we're actually just short-handed can you do monday 2pm and then i showed up today Monday at 2pm and the guy is 10 minutes late, I text the guy and he said "oh Philip's not there?" Philip the minion shows up within 1 minute of me texting, Philip says haha it's good thing our office is right around the corner and he points to a building literally right behind the rental and gives me the dorkiest fcking smile and I want to drown Philip in a puddle. We go to open the door and he doesn't have the right keypad code. I stand around in the rain for about 5 minutes while he calls and texts people and then he's like oh we can just try the other side of the duplex and I asked if the other side is the same layout and price and furnishings and he said no so I said no and so we sat in the rain for another 5 minutes and he finally gets the code and we go in. It looks like the last tenant had just left, all the lights and tvs are on and trash cans full, poop splatters on the toilet and it smells like cat piss. Despite this, I message the property manager that I am interested and would like to move forward with my application and he likes my message and says nothing else. $1400/month. a few years ago, a property manager was stunned that I requested to inspect the house before signing a legal document that said we conducted an inspection and told me I was the first person to ever do so. He addressed me as "Gay bro" in a text and it was never acknowledged $1754/month 440 sq feet #italiano #realestateagent #propertymanagement When you were investing in real estate, I studied the blade. When you were having open houses, I mastered the blockchain. While you wasted your days at the bank in pursuit of equity, I cultivated inner strength. And now that the world is on fire and the barbarians are at the gate you have the audacity to come to me for rent. It's free! Real estate! We're giving you land! It's free. We're giving you a house. It's real estate. Free. It's a free house for you, Jim. This is free real estate! You gotta bring furniture, but the house is free! Two bedrooms, no rugs. It's free! You unlock the door to your free house, we got you the real estate! It's a two bedroom house, its free, its got a pool in the back. I'm not carrying this around all day! It's for your house! Free real estate, I'll pee my pants. Jim, come get your damn land. It's a free house! Jim, I got real estate. Jim, does it get better than this? Jim! The house is free! Jim! The house is free! The diesel engine is a masterpiece of mechanical engineering. It is steady, powerful, tireless. It plods along relentlessly, pushing forward with a distinctive chug all its own. Nearby components rattle and scrape with the diesel's rhythm, but the dynamic engine remains constant, solid, balanced, and secure. It has a job to do, and nothing deters it from the goal. ---

Today's guest took the gas engine out of his boat and swapped in an LBZ. Things weren't smooth at the start, but he shares with us what he's learned, why it's better than gas and tons more. Cooling, oil supply, turbo, electronics and hard parts all face challenges truck applications don't. We also ask if he has plans for other diesel swaps - 3.0L Duramax, 6.7L Powerstroke or maybe a Cummins!

The combustion sound of a diesel engine is a true indicator of how the fuel is burning and must be recognized as a diagnostic tool. In this episode Ray Bohacz, the Hot Rod Farmer, explains why each engine has a certain combustion sound and it is a language that you must learn to understand.
With a power range of up to 3500HP and the possibility of 200PSI of boost, this Cummins based diesel engine is producing more power than anyone can yet get to the ground efficiently. At PRI, Drew Pumphrey of D&J Precision Machine gave us some insight into what goes into tuning a high performance diesel engine using this 410 cubic inch Cummins based billet application as an example. Drew and the team around him have so far produced 3214 hp and 3351 lb/ft of torque with plenty left in the tank since this interview.Drew gives some tips on safe EGT temps for drag racing and towing rigs, along with an explanation on what starts to fail first when you start to push temperatures too far. The use of 1000HP+ of nitrous to get the most out of the 98mm turbo used in this application, and why you see tractor pullers using compound setups instead of nitrous is covered too
Steve and Chuck interview Paul Kelly from Maxiforce Engine Parts, who supplies diesel engine parts, about the opportunities that are out there for machine shops in the small-bore diesel engine market. Paul enlightens everyone about how one engine can be used in several different pieces of equipment from one manufacturer. Also, this month's history segment pertains to the Indianapolis 500 and how one of our longtime associate members participated in the Indianapolis 500 in the early years.

In this episode of the Thoughtful Entrepreneur, your host Josh Elledge speaks with the founder and CEO of https://www.diesellaptops.com/ (Diesel Laptops), Tyler Robertson. Diesel Laptops provides efficiency solutions for people fixing diesel equipment. Tyler shares that it's not just highway workers who use diesel engines – there are actually more diesel engines off the highway than on it, so this is actually a massive industry with a need for what Tyler's company offers. Tyler explains that farming equipment, airstrip vehicles, plumbing, and more require diesel engines. It's not going away anytime soon; this is the industry that gets products to your door. Tyler and Josh explore the origins of Diesel Laptops – which was started by accident. Tyler had a lot of experience working with a software company before he built kits to help their customers use and download this software for their diesel powered engines. Before long, he had a powerful business idea take off. Diesel Laptops grew incredibly fast, but they needed to diversify, Tyler shares. They continued building software that could truly diagnose and educate the user (some of which they developed for free until they ultimately developed it into a SaaS program.) Diesel Laptops is the only solution that provides the computers, software, and hardware that can communicate between the engine/truck and the computer. Tyler shares that when they started Diesel Laptops, there wasn't a company that offered all of the components of a diesel diagnostic solution on the market. This is what makes Diesel Laptops unique – they offer a holistic approach to diesel solutions and they provide content and education on the subject. Tyler shares he had close relationships with his clients in the beginning so he was able to tackle every need and desire of theirs directly. As they scaled, Tyler has had to rely on other means to garner this data, which has been a bit of a challenge. He stresses that the number one way to streamline and optimize your business is to listen to your customers. They know what problems they need solved and what they want to see from your business, so ask them! Tyler shares that many of their products were made and provided for free to their clients when they established a minimum viable product. This allowed for product testing and real time feedback from clients as Diesel Laptops grew. Whether you're a highway worker or you're in an industry that utilizes diesel engines, Diesel Laptops has the solutions for you. Want to learn more? BJ Johnson is in a hurry—and for good reason. He's frustrated by the slow pace of change to address the climate crisis. And he's angry about how air particle pollution endangers everyone, but especially marginalized groups. Black, brown, and poor communities are especially plagued by harmful health outcomes—like asthma, COPD and other lung diseases—from environmental pollutants. Regardless of their state or income, Black residents are exposed to 26% higher levels of soot from heavy-duty diesel trucks than the national average. Once exposed, they are then at a three times higher risk of dying.BJ won't settle for it taking another two decades to solve the problem. As he tells host Yesh Pavlik Slenk, “This notion of, oh, well it's okay, that five-year-olds in L.A. today have asthma because we'll have electric school buses in 2040—we need to reject that type of thinking and start asking, no—why can't we start making this better today?”Which is exactly what he's trying to do. BJ talks with Yesh about how he and ClearFlame cofounder Julie Blumreiter are working to transform the dirty fossil-fuel-based trucking industry into a clean one, affordably. Now.But that's not all—the two founders are also fighting for more diversity, inclusion and equity in academia and in the world of high-tech startups. Johnson is one of a small handful of Black academics who have earned doctorates in engineering. Sadly, that's not surprising: women and Black people (both men and women) remain underrepresented in STEM degrees and careers, according to the Pew Research Center. Black people are especially underrepresented in engineering, where they make up only 5% of all groups in that field, despite being 11% of the workforce. Blumreiter and Johnson, who is half-Black, call for an end to this inequity. Writing in an open letter on their website, they reference their own experiences as being “consistently underestimated” because of their identities. In their letter, they call for acknowledgment that solving the world's problems must come from “a diverse range of thought-leaders.”Additional Information:Grist: Grist 50 2021 ClearFlame was named one of Grist's top 50 “fixers” of issues surrounding climate change in 2021.Techcrunch: ClearFlame Engine Technologies takes aim at cleaning up diesel enginesOEM Off-Highway: ClearFlame Receives DOE Grant to Support R&D of Clean Engine TechnologyNew York Times: Biden Tightens Emissions RulesPew Research Center: STEM Jobs See Uneven Progress in Increasing Gender, Racial and Ethnic DiversityAmerican Lung Association: https://www.lung.org/clean-air/outdoors/who-is-at-risk/disparitiesFollow BJ Johnson and ClearFlame Engine Technologies: Twitter: Clear Flame Engine Technologies (@ClearFlameEng)LinkedIn: BJ JohnsonCompany website: ClearFlame Engine TechnologiesFollow EDF:Not yet receiving the Degrees newsletter? I didn't... I, being the smarty pants that I am, was annoyed by that. With a wry smile he suggested: "Better look it up then." And I did! To watch the stock of Nikola Motors, the company that has raised millions to produce a hydrogen-produced truck, you'd think that the day of the diesel engine was going to end soon. But that isn't the case. Allen Schaeffer, the executive director of the Diesel Technology Forum, joins host John Kingston on the Drilling Deep podcast to talk about the work his group is doing to produce engines that are cleaner and that stay a step ahead of other technologies, powered by a significant wave of funding. Kingston will also talk about the other aspect of the collapse in oil prices: the drop in production and how it's impacting that part of the trucking world that needs the U.S. to keep drilling to keep their workers employed and their vehicles on the road. And while the price of oil may be rising, a key report sees production continuing to drop well into next year. More FreightWaves podcastsApple PodcastsSpotify

Vehicles our communities depend on, like big rigs, garbage trucks and buses, are equipped with heavy-duty engines that contribute to smog. Ultimately, that pollution leads to poor air quality and public health issues. SwRI engineers have developed a solution. Their near-zero emissions heavy-duty diesel engine drastically cuts down on harmful nitrogen oxides, while decreasing other pollutants. After years of research, SwRI engineer Chris Sharp and his team are ready to introduce a game-changing technology in heavy-duty transportation that could benefit human health. Listen now as we learn about a cleaner way to hit the road.

Is God’s power limited? It shouldn’t be… In the Lord’s prayer, Jesus said, “may Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” This implies there are things that can prevent or limit God’s will and power on earth. God is limited by two things - willing hearts and willing hands.

Rudolf Diesel died in mysterious circumstances before he was able to capitalise on his extraordinary invention: the eponymous engine that powers much of the world today. Before Diesel invented his engine in 1892, as Tim Harford explains, the industrial landscape was very different. Urban transport depended on horses and steam supplied power for trains and factories. Incredibly, Diesel’s first attempt at a working engine was more than twice as efficient as other engines which ran on petrol and gas, and he continued to improve it. Indeed, it wasn’t long before it became the backbone of the industrial revolution; used in trains, power stations, factories and container ships. When you have long product cycles or you’re building big physical things–or both–you typically face significant risk, as a lot can go wrong between drawing board and customers. In theory, Lean Startup methods help you reduce that risk. But it’s not always obvious how you can apply them. Cory Nelson, Sr. Executive Product Manager at GE Distributed Power, talks with Eric Ries about how GE has used Lean Startup methods to develop a new diesel engine more quickly and with less risk than it had for similar products in the past.
