The weekly adult Sunday School class at OAG taught by long-time teacher, Mrs. Jeanie Davis. ** Edited to remove personal information shared in the class and extended pauses ** Title: Understanding God's Plan Through Exodus Summary: In this week's lesson, Mrs. Jeanie Davis reminds us about embracing the challenges we face as signs we're on the right path with God. She emphasizes the lessons from the book of Exodus, highlighting how God had a plan for Israel and a broader plan for everyone. Mrs. Davis uses the story of her own childhood and family to illustrate the concept of change and the rapid advancement of technology, hinting at the exponential pace of today's knowledge growth as foretold in scripture. She urges us all to see ourselves as part of the divine plan, actively engaged in the work God has placed before us. The core message is simple yet profound: Even as God taught Moses and Aaron long ago, He teaches us today that we are woven into His plan with the task of spreading His word and love. Our May episode started with my takeaways from Five9's analyst event in Porto, Portugal, with a parallel discussion about how they're using AI to transform customer service, along with how broader generational changes are increasingly AI and tech-centric. Our analog lens pre-dates these changes, and we explored how digital transformation is taking automation to new levels. We don't know where it's heading, but there's a big difference between automating tasks and processes, and automating thought and emotion. The singularity could be closer than Kurzweil predicted – 2045 – and we left off with the robotics of the mind for our listeners to ponder.

#089: Formerly conventional, then becoming organic, the Choiniere Farm in Highgate Vermont is now 100% grass-fed and improving at every turn. Father and son Guy and Matt join us to discuss their views on managing herd and pasture and the importance of spreading their insights and practices to both eaters and up and coming farmers. Guy and Matt Choiniere both grew up and continue to live on the family dairy farm in northern Vermont near the Canadian border. They are widely regarded as being some of the best and most environmentally-conscious dairy farmers in Vermont, having won awards for their land stewardship, including the 2021 New England Leopold Conservation Award®. Our add-on food label distinguishes soil-grown fruits and vegetables from hydroponically-raised produce, and pasture-raised meat, milk, and eggs from products harvested from animals in horrific confinement (CAFOs - confined animal feeding operations). To find a Real Organic farm near you, please visit:https://www.realorganicproject.org/farmsWe believe that the organic standards, with their focus on soil health, biodiversity, and animal welfare were written as they should be, but that the current lack of enforcement of those standards is jeopardizing the ability for small farms who adhere to the law to stay in business. The lack of enforcement is also jeopardizing the overall health of the customers who support the organic movement; customers who are not getting what they pay for at market but still paying a premium price. And the lack of enforcement is jeopardizing the very cycles (water, air, nutrients) that Earth relies upon to provide us all with a place to live, by pushing extractive, chemical agriculture to the forefront. If you like what you hear and are feeling inspired, we would love for you to join our movement by becoming one of our 1,000 Real Friends:https://www.realorganicproject.org/real-organic-friends/To read our weekly newsletter (which might just be the most forwarded newsletter on the internet!) and get firsthand news about what's happening with organic food, farming and policy, please subscribe here:https://www.realorganicproject.org/email/
Imperfect Mommying: Better Parenting through Self Healing with Alysia Lyons
In this episode, AnnMaria and I discuss the power of education, imperfect mummying and the effects 7 generations of our ancestors have made us who we are today and how we are shaping the next 7 generations. After a stint in juvenile hall, AnnMaria ran away from her last foster home at age 15 and, with a fake ID, got a job and an apartment. By age 19 she had her bachelor's degree, an MBA at 21. She was the first American to win a world judo championship, then retired from competition to earn her Ph.D., became a professor, quit the university to start her first business after the death of her husband. She has founded four companies, raised four children, been one of Forbes 40 Women to Watch over 40, a Next Gen Leader of the International Game Developers Association Foundation and AARP Purpose Prize Winner. She and her daughter, Ronda Rousey, are the only mother-daughter combination in the International Sports Hall of Fame. Today's podcast guest is another duo - my parents. While still being on vacation, I decided it would be fun to bring on the people who raised me and hear their perspective within the generational changes. In this episode, we will cover the following questions: What did high school teach you? What did college teach you? What was the young adult experience like? What does adulting mean to you and what does it look like? How has adulting changed or helped you grow as a person? What is the biggest struggle with kids? What have your kids helped you learn? What are your 3 biggest life lessons you have learned? Thank you to my parents for being open to come on the podcast and for you guys tuning into another duo episode. More guest = more engagement but also a lot more work on the backend. Cheers to giving grace within the generations.
Welcome to #Millennial, the home of fake adulting and.... breaking your soul? We're kicking off this week's episode with the latest updates from the January 6th Hearings: fake electors, and pardons, and crimes, oh my! Finally, a majority of Americans think Trump should be charged with a crime. But speaking of other nightmares... we take a look at this proposed double decker passenger jet design. Will the lower deck seats be called "Ass to Face" seating, or rebranded as "Economy Basic"? Have we ever relied on budget airlines in the past? We go over the pros and cons of flying Spirit and Frontier. Laura got a new tattoo, which inspires us to talk about cosmetic tattooing. How do we feel about it, would we ever get one, and what are the pros and cons? There have been some generational shifts around the acceptability of tattoos - our grandparents still don't get it, but our parents are somewhat relaxed on the topic. We've received a few Confessionals from listeners wanting to know... Am I the Asshole? From mothers who gaslight to long distance relationships, we tell it to y'all straight. This week's recommendations are a grab bag: check for extra leg room seat upgrades 1-2 days prior to flying for reduced rates (Andrew), 'Malamander' by Thomas Taylor (Laura), and Therabreath whitening mouthwash (Pam). And in this week's installment of After Dark, available on Patreon: We all love our respective cities of residence, but what are the less desirable things about them? Everyone thinks their city has the worst traffic - spoiler: shitty drivers exist everywhere. Andrew witnessed a neighbor doing something interesting outside of his home last week - will he confront the neighbor?
Joel and Brayden have our Planting Pastor, Jai McMordie on the podcast to talk about his life, his ministry and spiritual fathers.
