Some homes are built to shelter us. Others are built to hide what we can't bear to face. In this week's chilling installment, host Steve Taylor invites you to step across the threshold of a house where every wall has a secret — and every secret has a body. Behind the façade of ordinary suburbia lies a legacy of obsession, guilt, and something far older and darker than madness itself. From the haunted imagination of Quincy Lee, “The Children in My House's Walls” unearths the blueprints of inherited evil — the kind that can't be demolished, only passed down. "The Children in My House's Walls" by Quincy Lee – Sadie always thought her father was a quiet, kind man — a devoted architect who loved her more than anything in the world. But when police uncover human remains sealed behind the walls of their family home, her entire childhood is thrown into question. Through harrowing memories and an unflinching confession, Sadie begins to piece together the truth about the disappearances that haunted her neighborhood — and the dark inheritance running through her bloodline. A haunting descent into madness, grief, and the fine line between psychosis and possession, this story exposes the horrors that can fester beneath the surface of love and family. In 2023, the global surrogacy market was valued at nearly $15 billion and is projected to reach almost $100 billion in the next eight years. Here in the UK commercial surrogacy is illegal - surrogacy has to be altruistic, meaning only expenses are paid for and the motivation behind it is typically helping someone else. It is legal, however, to have a child in another country where the rules may differ. To discuss the ethics of the practice, Anita is joined by Reem Alsalem and Sarah Jones, CEO of Surrogacy UK.Karen Carney is one of the most capped female footballers for England. Welcome to the Daily Radio Bible for Kids! In today's episode, Hunter takes us on a journey through a dramatic moment in the Bible—the story of Saul's incredible transformation on the road to Damascus. Saul was once known for wanting to put Christians in prison, but God had a different plan for his life. As Hunter reads from Acts chapter 9, we discover how a miraculous encounter with Jesus changed Saul's heart forever, opening his eyes to God's endless love for everyone. Tune in as we explore how meeting Jesus can change even the hardest hearts, reminding us all that we are deeply loved—no doubt about it. It's another wonderful day, and that means we've got a brand new episode of the Daily Radio Bible for Kids to share with you! In today's episode (October 16th), Hunter takes us on a journey through one of the most incredible stories in the Bible: the life-changing encounter of Saul on the road to Damascus. Here's what we covered today: A Surprising Plan Saul started out as someone you definitely wouldn't want to meet if you were a Christian. He was determined to find and arrest followers of Jesus. But God had something amazing in store for Saul—something that would completely turn his life around! A Very Bright Light As Saul got close to Damascus, something extraordinary happened. A bright light shone all around him, and he heard a voice: “Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?” It was Jesus Himself speaking! From that moment on, Saul's heart and his whole life began to change. A Friend Named Ananias While Saul was blind and trying to make sense of what happened, God sent Ananias to find him. Even though Ananias was scared, he trusted God and helped Saul regain his sight. What a brave act of kindness! A Brand New Beginning When Ananias laid his hands on Saul, something like scales fell from his eyes. Saul could see again—both with his eyes, and also with his heart. He realized just how big God's love is, not just for some, but for everyone! A Message for Us Today's story reminds us that God's love can reach anyone and change any heart. No matter where you are or what you've done, you are loved. No doubt about it! Thanks for spending another day in the Bible with us! Hunter will be back tomorrow for another adventure in God's word. Until then, let's go forward in God's joy—and remember: you are loved. Talk to you soon. Hunter DONATE TO THE PODCAST to help kids around the world recieve these podcasts free everyday.  Thanks! In this heartwarming episode of Reading with Your Kids, host Jed Doherty explores the transformative power of children's literature and communication with two remarkable author teams who are making a difference in young lives. First, speech pathologists Kathy Bruner and Sharilyn Gugliotta share their innovative children's books "Hope the Butterfly Wants to Go" and "Hank the Slug Wants to Eat" from their Bug Huggables series. These books aren't just adorable stories—they're carefully crafted tools designed to help children develop language skills. By using repetitive, high-frequency words and engaging illustrations, these authors create resources that help parents support early speech development. The conversation then shifts to an equally powerful narrative with Veronica DeStefano, who wrote "Lucy Lemon and the Brave Bubbles" about her daughter's journey with selective mutism. This touching story reveals how creative approaches can help children overcome communication challenges. DeStefano's book provides insight into a often-misunderstood condition, showing how understanding and supportive strategies can help children build confidence. Both segments highlight critical insights for parents and educators:     Early intervention is key in speech and communication development     Children's books can be powerful educational tools     Every child's communication journey is unique     Patience, understanding, and creative approaches make a significant difference The episode offers practical advice for parents concerned about their child's speech development, including:     Recognizing potential speech delays     Understanding early communication milestones     Finding resources and support for children with communication challenges Whether you're a parent, educator, or simply interested in child development, this episode provides valuable insights into helping children find their voice—literally and metaphorically. Have you ever said your child, “Don't yell at your brother!” If so, were you yelling? What's happening in a child's body filled with angry is louder than what's going on in their brain. As Christi says in this episode, “Our body sends 10 messages to our brain for every 1 our brain sends to our body.” In other words, our body speaks louder than our brain. So why have we stopped listening to the body? What's actually going in our child's body in their anger? What's happening on our body in our anger? In this incredibly personal and moving episode, we sit down with Teejay and Jon, the authors of the gentle children's book Clemence, to share the full, raw story of their daughter, Nadiya. Their journey began with an unexpected connection—a transatlantic online romance between Teejay in Australia and Jon in Canada—that quickly turned into a marriage grounded in a shared life and purpose. With Teejay's extensive background in early childhood development and their experience fostering a young man with Down syndrome, they felt prepared when Nadiya was diagnosed with Trisomy 21 (Down syndrome) early in the pregnancy. However, Nadiya's complications were severe: a complete AVSD (Atrioventricular Septal Defect), a heart condition that made survival a constant battle. Teejay and Jon open up about the grueling reality of Nadiya's three-month, extended NICU stay. They speak candidly about the sheer exhaustion, the mental toll of the incessant alarms and machine noise, and the profound isolation of making life-and-death decisions under unimaginable pressure.  We explore the difficult but necessary truth of grieving alongside a partner who processes loss in a completely different way. Jon, an extrovert, sought normalcy and company, while Teejay, an introvert, needed space and quiet isolation. They explain how establishing mutual respect and seeking professional counseling were the key foundations that saved their marriage during this seismic time. Finally, they share the powerful mission behind their book, Clemence. Written to honor Nadiya's memory, it provides a crucial tool for families, helping them talk to children about baby sibling loss. They reveal plans for a sequel to address the unique grief of the "neglected mourners"—the subsequent children born after a loss who never met their older sibling. This conversation is an essential listen for anyone in the NICU community, processing loss, or seeking resources for pediatric grief support. Note: We recognize this episode addresses Infant and Pregnancy Loss Awareness. We stand with all families who have experienced loss and hope this conversation brings comfort and community. These short 5 minute podcasts will encourage your family, inspire your children, and help root your Child's life in the story of God's love for the world.    Find out more at www.drbkids.com   Welcome to the Daily Radio Bible for Kids! In today's episode, host Hunter invites kids from around the world to journey through the Bible together, reading powerful passages and discovering the incredible stories within. As we turn to Acts chapter 8, we'll find out how Philip follows the guidance of an angel to meet an Ethiopian official who's eager to learn about Jesus—and what happens when the Ethiopian asks Philip for baptism. Hunter also thanks listeners who volunteered as guest readers and gives a sneak peek at the upcoming Friday Friends segment. Plus, we're reminded from 1 Chronicles 16:23 to proclaim the good news every day. Tune in for encouragement, inspiration, and the reminder that you are deeply loved! TODAY'S DEVOTION: Philip listened and obeyed. Today, we saw how the Holy Spirit led Philip to a man from Ethiopia who was searching for understanding and truth. All it took was Philip's willingness to listen for God's guidance—and then obey. He didn't hesitate or question; he just did what God asked him to do. And because Philip listened, the Ethiopian man heard the good news about Jesus, believed, and wanted to be baptized right away! Sometimes, we might think that sharing the good news about Jesus is only for special people or big moments. But today's story reminds us that God can use anyone, anytime, anywhere, if we are paying attention to his leading. Philip met the Ethiopian where he was, answered his questions, and introduced him to the hope and love found in Jesus. And that's the opportunity God gives us, too. If we're willing to pay attention to the nudges of the Holy Spirit—to the little thoughts that encourage us to speak, share, invite, or simply show love—we might be surprised how God can use us. Sometimes God will prompt us to help a friend, talk to someone who's lonely, or even read the Bible with someone who has questions. The good news of Jesus is for everyone, everywhere. Let's ask God to help us be ready to see those opportunities and to give us words to say. Like Philip, let's step out with courage and trust that God will use us to bring his good news to the world. The Bible tells us, “Let the whole earth sing to the Lord! Each day proclaim the good news that he saves.” (1 Chronicles 16:23) That's my prayer for my own heart, for my family, and for you. May we listen, obey, and be ready to share God's love and the story of Jesus wherever we go. DONATE TO THE PODCAST to help kids around the world recieve these podcasts free everyday.  Thanks! This episode concludes our series on one of the most painful lies widows and single moms often believe—that it was somehow our fault our husband died, or that our children are growing up without their dad because of something we did or failed to do. Regret is real, but it never gets the final word. God does, and He is our Redeemer. We will look at the character of God as Redeemer, explore how to rest in His care, and share practical encouragement for guiding our children when regret creeps in or when they begin to believe the lie that their father's absence is somehow their fault.Key TakeawaysGod is our Redeemer: From Exodus to Ruth, Isaiah to the New Testament, Scripture reveals God's heart to redeem, restore, and make new. Redemption is not only what God does—it is who He is.Scriptural Anchors of Redemption: Job 19:25, Psalm 103:4, and 1 Peter 1:18–19 assure us that redemption is God's promise and His nature.Helping Children Process Regret: Recognize the lies children may believe about their father's absence and gently replace them with biblical truth about God's love and presence.Practical Tools for Moms: Model honesty before God, replace lies with truth, affirm children's love for their dad, and encourage expression and lament as steps toward healing.Living in Trust: Show your children how to rest in God's redeeming care by pointing out His provision and sharing testimonies of His restoration in your own life.Every widow, every single mom, every child has a Redeemer. Even when loss feels final and regret whispers lies, God redeems, restores, and renews. Regret does not have the final word. Christ our Redeemer does. May you and your children walk in His redeeming love.Other Resources:Link to Pt. 1-2

Meanwhile Heather Humphreys has been on the campaign trail in Monaghan, with Ellen following her. It's safe ground for the former Cavan-Monaghan TD. But is she spending too much time on home turf? Jack and Ellen compare the Humphreys and Connolly campaigns. Connolly has led in the latest polls, but who has the momentum? The two-horse race means intense focus on the nature of the two candidates. Could that mean the result will be more divisive than presidential elections past? Hosted on Acast. This week we're exploring the often forgotten genre that is “Horror Movies for Children”. It was a short lived genre, and almost entirely killed by the advent of the PG-13 rating, but this week we dive into Gremlins (1984) and its wacky sequel, Gremlins 2: The New Batch (1990). Gremlins is certainly responsible for traumatizing a generation of 80's children whose parents thought it was a silly movie about a little furry animal. Enjoy our review of the Gremlins franchise!   Cinema Spectator is a movie podcast hosted by Isaac Ransom, Juzo Greenwood, and Cameron Tuttle. In this episode of the Parent Companion for Play Therapy series, I explain one of the most important parts of understanding what happens in the playroom — symbolic and thematic play. This episode helps parents make sense of how their child's play reflects their experiences, emotions, and healing process. I describe how children often “rewrite” their stories through play, working through fear, confusion, or past experiences in ways that help them feel more in control and confident. Understanding symbolic and thematic play is key for parents, because it reveals how meaningful play really is — and why it leads to lasting change in child-centered play therapy.
