What happens when parents stop outsourcing their values to a broken system? What if the very institutions we trust with our kids are doing more harm than good? This isn't some theoretical debate anymore - it's happening in real time, and parents across the country are waking up to the dystopian reality of government-run education. From failing test scores to flat-out ideological indoctrination, the public school monopoly is collapsing under its own weight. In this episode, we confront that collapse head-on and explore the massive cultural and parental awakening unfolding before our eyes. Studio Sponsor: Cardio Miracle - "Unlock the secret to a healthier heart, increased energy levels, and transform your cardiovascular fitness like never before.": CardioMiracle.com/TBNS Joining Brian is Andrew Clark from Yes. Every Kid., an advocacy group on the front lines of the parental rights revolution. Together, they break down the cultural power struggle happening in classrooms, the pushback from teachers' unions, and the growing number of parents refusing to comply. The spark? COVID gave parents a front-row seat to the madness. Now, those same parents are asking tough questions and demanding better for their kids. This episode dives deep into the shocking proficiency stats coming out of cities like Chicago and Baltimore - and why spending $85,000 per student still leads to total failure. But it's not just about the numbers. It's about who owns your child's future: you or the state? You'll hear how the legacy of Horace Mann and Rockefeller still haunts modern education, and why the time for a paradigm shift is now. Brian and Andrew don't just critique the system - they lay out what's next. Education Savings Accounts, micro-schools, homeschooling pods, and real freedom of choice. This isn't about left or right. It's about getting kids an education that actually works. And spoiler alert: it's the private sector and local communities leading the charge. If you're a parent, grandparent, or anyone who cares about the future of this country, this episode is a wake-up call. It's time to stop tolerating mediocrity and start demanding freedom. Because when the system grips tighter, more families slip through its fingers - and that might just save the next generation. ❤️ Order Cardio Miracle (CardioMiracle.com/TBNS) for 15% off and take a step towards better heart health and overall well-being!

When children are facing obstacles such as poverty and gun violence, they need consistent, ongoing support from a source they trust. Friends of the Children pairs kids starting at age 4 with paid, professional mentors - or "Friends" - who stay with them for 12+ years. The organization recently opened a Philadelphia branch, partnering with two elementary schools and a community center. Racquel Williams talks with the Philadelphia Executive Director, Dr. Betty Handy. Then, on Shara in the City, we're heading to Phoenixville, PA to learn about one of the last theaters of its kind - the Colonial Theatre. Shara Dae Howard gets a tour of the venue that was built in 1902 and still screens films and hosts live events. Plus, we hear about its ties to one of the most classic horror films of the 20th century, which they're about to celebrate with Blobfest, July 11-13. How can we truly believe we're "always enough" while acknowledging we're "never done" growing - especially as mothers who constantly feel inadequate? In this transformative episode of Whinypaluza, host Rebecca Greene sits down with licensed professional counselor and bestselling author Erica Bonham to explore the powerful concept behind her book title "Always Enough, Never Done." Erica, a certified EMDR clinician, trainer, and ketamine-assisted psychotherapist, specializes in serving the LGBTQ community, abuse recovery, and trauma related to social and racial injustice. The conversation delves into nervous system regulation, the challenges of perfectionism in parenting, and how we can break cycles of shame-bound beliefs while supporting our children's sense of self-worth. Erica shares her expertise on EMDR therapy and ketamine-assisted psychotherapy and offers invaluable guidance for parents supporting LGBTQ children. This episode is packed with wisdom about healing trauma, understanding our inherent worthiness, and creating a more inclusive world for our families.5 Key Takeaways ➤ The Paradox of Worthiness: You are "always and already enough, lovable, worthy and inextricably connected to every other living thing on this planet" AND you're in a constant state of growth and evolution - both truths can coexist without contradiction. ➤ Trauma Lives in the Body: Knowledge alone isn't enough to heal trauma because it's stored in the nervous system, not the frontal lobes. This is why body-based approaches like EMDR and somatic practices are essential for lasting change. ➤ Model Self-Compassion for Your Children: The best gift we can give our children is to deconstruct our own shame-bound beliefs first. Children see through our words to our actions and energy - we must genuinely believe in our own worthiness.➤ Create Space for Difficult Conversations: Whether discussing LGBTQ issues, race, or other sensitive topics, approach them with curiosity, acknowledge your learning process, and focus on creating a world where everyone feels safe and valued.➤ Healing is Both Individual and Collective: Personal nervous system regulation and trauma healing directly impact how we show up in relationships and communities, creating a ripple effect that contributes to collective healing.Memorable Quotes from Erica"Trauma doesn't give a shit what we know. Your vagus nerve connects the brain stem to the gut - it doesn't connect to the frontal lobes. So we can know all kinds of things, but when we're activated, all of that goes right out the window.""If you wouldn't say what you're saying to yourself to your daughter, if you wouldn't want that for your child - and if somebody showed up for your kid the way you show up for yourself, you'd be like 'get away from my kid, you're dangerous' - then maybe we need to shift that."How to Reach Erica BonhamWebsite: https://www.avoscounseling.com/ (for signed book copies and coaching packages)Book: "Always Enough, Never Done" (available on Amazon or signed copies via website) Instagram: @avoscounselingFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/avoscounseling/TikTok: @ericabonhamsomaticcoach  YouTube: @ejbonham1207 Learn more about your ad choices. Welcome to Day 2666 of Wisdom-Trek, and thank you for joining me. This is Guthrie Chamberlain, Your Guide to Wisdom – Theology Thursday – “Cosmic Geography” – Supernatural Wisdom-Trek Podcast Script - Day 2666 Welcome to Wisdom-Trek with Gramps! I am Guthrie Chamberlain, and we are on Day 2666 of our Trek. The Purpose of Wisdom-Trek is to create a legacy of wisdom, to seek out discernment and insights, and to boldly grow where few have chosen to grow before. Today, we begin a new focus on the 5th of 16 segments of our Theology Thursday lessons. I will read through the book "Supernatural," written by Hebrew Bible scholar, professor, and mentor Dr. Michael S. Heiser, who has since passed away. Supernatural is a condensed version of his comprehensive book, ‘The Unseen Realm.' If these readings pique your interest, I would recommend that you read ‘The Unseen Realm.' Today, we will read through chapter five: “Cosmic Geography.” The divine transgressions we looked at in the previous podcast had something in common. They were both supernatural rebellions aimed at co-opting God's plan for humanity and the restoration of his rule. In this podcast we'll look at another rebellion, one that originated with people. This rebellion produced a predicament that we're all still part of, and that predicament involves supernatural beings. The titanic struggle for God's restoration strategy took a turn for the worse that only the return of Jesus will finally resolve. The Tower of Babel The story of the Tower of Babel (Gen. 11:1–9) is simultaneously one of the best-known and least-understood accounts in the Bible. Children learn about it in Sunday school as the time when God confused earth's human languages. After the flood, God repeated the command he'd given to Adam and Eve to cover the earth. He was trying to kick-start the spread of his ruling influence through humanity. Once again, it didn't work. People refused. Rebellion in their hearts, they had a better idea, or so they thought. They decided to build a tower to avoid being scattered (Gen. 11:4). The logic seems odd. Sure, an amazing tower would make them famous (Gen. 11:4), but how would that prevent scattering across the earth? The answer lies in the tower. Bible scholars and archaeologists know ancient Babylon and cities around it built towers called ziggurats. The purpose of the ziggurats was to provide places where people could meet the gods. They were part of temple zones. Rather than make the world like Eden—to spread the knowledge and rule of God everywhere—the people wanted to bring God down at one spot. That wasn't God's plan, and he wasn't pleased. Hence his statement—again to the members of his council—“Let us go down and mix up their language” (Gen. 11:7 gnt, emphasis added). God did so, and humanity was separated and scattered. The incident explains how the nations listed a chapter earlier in Genesis 10 came to be. That's the story most Christians know. Now for the one they don't. The Gods and Their Nations Genesis 11 isn't the only passage that describes what happened at the Tower of Babel. Deuteronomy 32:8–9 describes it this way: When the Most High gave to the nations their inheritance, when he divided mankind, he fixed the borders of the peoples according to the number of the sons of God. But the Lord's portion is his people, Jacob his allotted heritage. Some Bible translations have “sons of Israel” instead of “sons of God” in that first sentence. But Israel didn't exist at the time of the Tower of Babel. God only called Abraham after Babel...

Today is Thursday, July 3rd and Happy birthday to Tom Cruise I’m Peyton Spurlock and here are your top stories presented by KIA Mall of Georgia. Corps of Engineers reopening seven more Lake Lanier parks NAACP accuses Gwinnett DA of mishandling shooting case, wants AG to reopen case Gwinnett Stripers partner with TeamSmile to provide free dental exams for local underserved children Plus, Leah McGrath from Ingles Markets on sodas All of this and more is coming up on the Gwinnett Daily Post podcast, and if you are looking for community news, we encourage you to listen daily and subscribe! Break 1: 07.14.22 KIA MOG STORY 1: Corps of Engineers reopening seven more Lake Lanier parks The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has partnered with Forsyth and Hall counties to reopen nearly all nine previously closed parks on Lake Lanier for the Fourth of July weekend. Six parks will operate under one-year agreements with the counties, while Burton Mill Park will temporarily open for the holiday weekend. This collaboration aims to provide recreational access while addressing staffing shortages that initially threatened to close 21 parks. Only two parks, Van Pugh North and South, will remain closed as hiring efforts continue to support long-term operations. STORY 2: NAACP accuses Gwinnett DA of mishandling shooting case, wants AG to reopen case A dispute has arisen over the Gwinnett DA's decision not to prosecute Alejandro Querales Morales, who shot Jalyne Evans-Jones through his door after she and her husband asked him to lower his music in August 2023. Evans-Jones, who survived with permanent injuries, and the NAACP claim the case was mishandled, citing lack of investigation and communication. The DA’s office argued there wasn’t enough evidence, pointing to a witness who claimed Evans-Jones' husband had a gun. The NAACP is urging Georgia Attorney General Chris Carr to reopen the case, alleging misconduct, though Carr’s office stated it lacks jurisdiction. Evans-Jones and her husband have also filed a civil lawsuit. STORY 3: Gwinnett Stripers partner with TeamSmile to provide free dental exams for local underserved children Underserved children in Gwinnett County will receive free dental exams and oral health education on July 8, thanks to a partnership between the Gwinnett Stripers, TeamSmile, Delta Dental, and Sun Life U.S. Held at Cooray Field, the event will feature pro athletes, mascots, and entertainment to create a fun atmosphere. Children with dental issues will be referred to TeamSmile’s Dental Home Project for long-term care. Since 2007, TeamSmile has provided over $22 million in free dental care to more than 60,000 children nationwide. We have opportunities for sponsors to get great engagement on these shows. Call 770.874.3200 for more info. We’ll be right back Break 2: STORY 4: State audit of state program for kids produced mixed results A state audit of the Georgia Family Connection Partnership, which received $30 million in funding for fiscal year 2024, revealed mixed results in improving child well-being indicators. While the program positively impacted high school graduation and teen birth rates, it showed no evidence of improvement in child abuse, low birthweight babies, or child poverty. Auditors criticized the program's decentralized model for limiting measurable impact and disagreed with the partnership’s claim that results were "promising." Established in 1991, the initiative aims to address Georgia's historically low child well-being rankings but faces challenges in demonstrating consistent statewide outcomes. STORY 5: Police: Mercedes SUV was stolen while being transported out of state Gwinnett County police are searching for a stolen 2025 matte gray Mercedes GLS with distinctive 24-inch Forgiato wheels. The SUV was last seen on June 6 when a subcontractor picked it up from a Snellville home to transport it out of state, but it never arrived. Police are seeking public assistance and encourage anyone with information to contact detectives or Crime Stoppers, which offers cash rewards for tips leading to an arrest and indictment. Dear Article Clubbers,Thank you for the kind birthday wishes last week. It's true that our reading community is 10 years old. And we're just getting started!Just like that, we're in July, which means this week's issue is dedicated to featuring the article of the month and encouraging you to join our discussion.I'm happy to announce that this month, we're going to be diving into “The End of Children,” by Gideon Lewis-Kraus. Published in February in The New Yorker, the article explores the imminent stark drop in population around the world, most notably in South Korea.Don't worry: Even though the declining human fertility rate has become a political topic in the United States, this piece is nuanced and deeply reported. I'm certain you'll appreciate it, even if you end up disagreeing with the writer's stance.Inside today's issue, you'll find:* Melinda and my first impressions of the article (on the podcast)* My blurb about the article* A short bio of the author* A warm invite to join our discussion on July 27If you can't be bothered by all of that, and just want to sign up for the discussion right here and now, by all means, please do!The End of ChildrenGrowing up, I worried about many things. One source of worry was my family's evacuation plan in case of fire; it wasn't robust enough. Another source was the world's exponential population increase, which would inevitably doom us.Turns out, at the time, my concern was not unfounded. In 1968, Paul Ehrlich wrote in The Population Bomb that millions of people would die of starvation unless governments aggressively curtailed the fertility rate. But instead of population rising without bound, the opposite has happened. In 2023, for the first time ever, because on average each woman had fewer than 2.1 children (the “replacement rate”), the world's population shrank. All projections say this trend will continue, until one day, there won't be enough people for us to sustain as a species. In Seoul, where writer Gideon Lewis-Kraus focuses this article, “children are largely phantom presences.” There are more dogs than children. Ask anyone on the street, a Korean demographer said, and they'll know the country's fertility rate. (It is 0.7, the lowest in the world.) Kids bring ick. Many businesses are “no-kids zones.”The United States (fertility rate: 1.6) is headed in a similar direction, Mr. Lewis-Kraus argues. The truth is, for whatever reason (and there are many), younger Americans no longer think having children is an inevitability. As immigration declines, and climate concerns rise, and structural inequities worsen, our country may face the same problem as Korea. And that could lead to catastrophe.Should we care about the declining fertility rate? Or is it just a misogynistic conservative ruse to distract our attention from the deleterious effects of climate change? In my opinion, this is the first article written by a progressive that has looked seriously at the issue and presented it to a mainstream audience.By Gideon Lewis-Kraus • The New Yorker • 42 min • Gift Link➕ Bonus: Here's the article with my handwritten highlights and annotations.About the authorA staff writer at The New Yorker, Mr. Lewis-Kraus grew up in New Jersey and graduated from Stanford. He writes reportage and criticism and is the author of the digressive travel memoir A Sense of Direction as well as the Kindle Single No Exit. Previously, he was a writer-at-large at The New York Times Magazine, a contributing editor at Harper's magazine, and a contributing writer at WIRED magazine. He has lived in San Francisco, Berlin, and Shanghai, and now lives in Brooklyn with his wife and two small children. Mr. Lewis-Kraus generously recorded an interview with Article Club, which will be published in two weeks.About the discussionMy hope is that you'll read “The End of Children” and want to talk about it! (Even though we don't “debate” at Article Club discussions, I predict this topic will lead to a spicier-than-usual conversation.)We'll be meeting up on Zoom on Sunday, July 27, 2:00 - 3:30 pm PT. We'll spend the first few minutes saying hi and doing short introductions. Then after I frame the piece and share our community agreements, we'll break out into small, facilitated discussion groups. The small groups usually include 5-8 people, so there's plenty of time to share your perspectives and listen to others. That's where we'll spend the bulk of our time. Toward the end, we'll return to the full group, sharing our reflections and appreciations of fellow participants. If this sounds interesting to you, sign up by clicking on the button below. If you're unsure, I get it. If you don't know me, it might feel strange to sign up for an online discussion with total strangers. But I am confident that you'll find yourself at home with other kind people who like to read deeply and explore ideas in community. We've done this 58 times, and by now, it's not a surprise that we're able to create an intimate space, almost like we're in the same physical room together.I hope that you read the piece. If it resonates with you, I encourage you to take the plunge and join us on July 27!Thank you for reading and listening to this week's issue. Hope you liked it.

The end of the term arrives, and the Court is busy.  We begin our dive into  the cases with Mahmoud v. Taylor, a case involving inclusive books in a school, parental guidance of religious education, opt-outs, advance notification, and issues of gender and sexual education.  Professor Amar goes beyond the case with an overall theory of religious accommodation; indeed, he goes beyond this into questions of parental rights and how it may interact with first amendment law.  We also have some announcements of future events.  And as always, CLE credit is available for lawyers and judges from podcast.njsba.com.

Is a hidden network of ancient beings actively recruiting humans to serve a supernatural agenda? Joined for his third time in studio, Nathan Reynolds explains that The Finders Club is real, and it's not just demons in suits. It's a multi-layered system of occult recruiters, dream hijackers, and spiritual spies operating through bloodlines, ritual trauma, and generational covenants. Children are scouted through school programs. Recruits are chosen by entities that speak through technology. Targets are named by the dead. From the Jason Program to throne rooms under the London Bridge, what looks like myth is a global operation, and the competition for souls is already underway. When Ivan and Annette Stineman disappeared from their home in Concord, California in the summer of 2000, it immediately raised red alarmed with those closest to the elderly couple. Those alarms proved to be justified when, a week later, the remains of the Stinemans and three others were discovered in duffel bags in Sacramento River Delta. The day after the remains were found in river, investigators arrested Taylor and Justin Helzer, and Justin's girlfriend, Dawn Godman, for the murders of Ivan and Annette Stineman. A short time later, they would also be charged with the murders of Taylor's girlfriend, Selina Bishop, her mother, Jenny Villarin, and Villarin's boyfriend, Jim Gamble. At first, investigators believed the murders were part of a plot to extort the Stinemans for a large amount of money, but the deeper they dug into the lives and backgrounds of the killers, a different and far more bizarre motive began to emerge.Thank you to the Incredible Dave White of Bring Me the Axe Podcast for research and Writing support!ReferencesAguila, Justino. 2000.
