In this episode, Stuart and Jacob are joined by special guest Hannah as they take on a decade spanning musical, with examinations of the 1982 and 2014 films (and the Disney produced, made-for-TV 1999 version). Charm is explored and nostalgia expounded upon as they look upon the many memorable performances of 1982m, look at how they were done on television with a smaller budget, and then jump all the way ahead to modern times to view a story that could be anything OTHER than Annie! Why does this musical endure for audiences, and how do you iterate on what many consider to be a timeless tale? Is there a place for the whimsical in a world that feels increasingly sterile? And just how many times can one mention "Little Girls" before it gets weird? Also featured in this episode are a brief dive into "Winter Burrow", praise for Carol Burnett and Albert Finney, Jamie Foxx's germaphobia, and some collar-tugging enjoyment of Punjab. Moving back and forth between Vallejo and SoCal, once he started rapping his dream was to sign with his cousin E-40. That became a reality when his debut album "The Street Novelist" dropped on Sick Wid It Records. He quickly became one of the most popular voices on the West Coast and collaborated with some of the biggest legends of the Bay Area. But just as his career was taking off, a personal tragedy led him to take a long hiatus from rap which he explains here for the first time. Send us a textEver notice how some jokes age like fine wine while others turn flat the second the credits roll? We dig into that sweet spot where craft, culture, and timing collide—starting with the thorny question of separating art from the artist as the Diddy headlines swirl, then moving straight into the films and shows that shaped our comedic DNA. From Boomerang's Black elegance and Harlem Nights' stacked cast to Life's eternal quotables, we unpack why Eddie Murphy still holds the belt for big-screen comedy while Jamie Foxx might be the most versatile performer of his generation—piano, pipes, and punchlines on demand. We run a spirited bracket on the funniest Black sitcoms to last five seasons, with Martin winning on character work alone—Dragonfly Jones, Jerome, and Otis still crack us up. Then it's a lap through sketch comedy's hall of fame: In Living Color as blueprint, Chappelle's Show as peak, and the ripple effect across Key & Peele. TV nostalgia hits hard with New York Undercover and a spicy take on The Wire, raising the question of what's timeless versus what's just beloved. Along the way, we share personal stories, unexpected cameos we forgot we knew, and the kind of lived-in details you only get from rewatching classics at 2 a.m.Horror fans get a full segment too. We draw clean lines between thrillers and slashers, break down why The Conjuring rattled grown folks, and revisit Candyman's lingering dread. Even spoofs get their flowers—Scary Movie, Hollywood Shuffle, and a few cult picks that still surprise. We close with a tight watch list—Vampire in Brooklyn and Talking Dirty After Dark included—and a big takeaway: classics aren't crowned by hype, they're proven by rewatch value, quotability, and how well they keep saying something real long after the moment passes. If you laughed, argued with us in your head, or added a title to your queue, follow the show, share this episode with a friend, and drop your top five comedies in a review. Your list might change ours next week. Thanks for listening to the Nobody's Talking Podcast. In this Moving Panels One Shot, Laramy and Nicholas dive into one of the most debated topics in comic book movie fandom: are some films judged harshly because they're genuinely bad, or because a single performance throws everything off balance? From great actors trapped in messy movies to questionable choices in otherwise solid films, we explore what truly makes a performance “bad” — and whether it's always the actor's fault. We take an in-depth look at Brandon Routh in Superman Returns, Margot Robbie in Suicide Squad, Jamie Foxx in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Tom Hardy in Venom, and Katie Holmes in Batman Begins, and we even give some love to Nicolas Cage and his unforgettable contributions to the genre. Join us for a fun and thoughtful discussion about the strange alchemy of performances, tone, and storytelling in comic book adaptations.

Recent rumors have surfaced suggesting that Sean "Diddy" Combs may have been involved in an incident leading to Jamie Foxx's hospitalization in April 2024. These speculations propose that Combs, during a party, allegedly provided Foxx with a drink containing a harmful substance, resulting in serious health complications. The exact motive behind this purported act remains unclear, with some sources hinting at personal disputes or professional jealousy. In his Netflix special released in October 2024, Foxx addresses his hospitalization, referring to it as a "wake-up call" and expressing gratitude for his recovery. Interview Date: July 14th, 2025Episode Summary:Eden Shabtai shares how a kid from a tiny Israeli kibbutz—obsessed with MTV and training in ballet and modern—willed her way into New York's scene and eventually L.A.'s major stages. She opens up about the unglamorous decade of artist development, underpaid gigs, and nonstop outreach that built the foundation for her “overnight” break assisting on Chris Brown's Loyal, leading to major award shows and TV. A six-month backpacking trip through India reshaped her idea of success, while the O-1 visa process taught ruthless persistence. Eden also speaks candidly about receiving an aggressive breast-cancer diagnosis while five months pregnant, undergoing chemo with cold-cap treatments, and protecting her peace by avoiding toxic workrooms.Creatively, Eden explains why she builds choreography live in the studio—feeding off dancers and music—and why energy, individuality, and attitude matter more than stacked résumés. Listeners will gain insight into using social media strategically, differences between NYC training and L.A. work volume, how to stand out in auditions (presence, styling, quick adjustments), and the mindset that sustains a career: humility, resilience, and community.Shownotes:(0:00) – Welcome and guest introduction(8:20) – Early roots: ballet, modern, MTV influence(13:53) – India trip reframes success and happiness(15:24) – Visa grind: persistence, evidence, good lawyer(18:53) – Moving to L.A.: training vs. booking realities(21:08) – Breakthrough: assisting on “Loyal”(26:44) – Favorite projects: BET 2014, Fleur East(29:31) – Cancer while pregnant: resilience and boundaries(42:05) – Creative process: energy-first choreography(51:19) – What makes dancers stand outBiography:Originally from a kibbutz in northern Israel, Eden began training in ballet and modern at age 7. With no formal hip-hop classes available at the time, she learned by watching MTV. Determined to pursue dance professionally, she left home at 16 to study at a specialized dance school. After serving in the IDF, she spent six transformative months traveling India before moving to New York City to chase her dream. In NYC, Eden trained at Broadway Dance Center and quickly became a sought-after teacher for over 150 young students while choreographing for up-and-coming artists. Realizing her long-term goals required a move west, she relocated to Los Angeles in 2010.Since then, Eden has worked across NBC, ABC, BET, FOX, CBS, VH1, CW, and MTV. Her credits include the VMAs, Grammys, Billboard Awards, Dancing with the Stars, iHeart Radio Awards, BET Awards, Soul Train Awards, X Factor, The Ellen Show, James Corden, American Idol, Jimmy Kimmel, Jimmy Fallon, and more. She has choreographed campaigns for Hasbro, Office Max, Office Depot, HEB, and Clark's.Eden has worked with artists including Chris Brown, Ariana Grande, Demi Lovato, Pitbull, Ava Max, Jason Derulo, Enrique Iglesias, Jamie Foxx, Ne-Yo, Lil Wayne, Marc Anthony, Flo-Rida, Brandy, Omarion, Miguel, Pia Mia, Little Mix, Sevyn Streeter, No Doubt, Snoop Dogg, Kehlani, Janelle Monáe, Fleur East, Priyanka Chopra, Machine Gun Kelly, Tinashe, WizKid, Serayah, DJ Snake, Hardwell, YungBlud, Jack & Jack, and many more.In 2017 Eden served as a Judge/Mentor on a new Israeli dance competition series, where she became the winning mentor. You either love it as soon as you hear it or you don't care for it.That's why it's such an emotional, physical and mental release. When we receive it and the tracks connect with us. We get goosebumps because it's so good.I think about how music and other art forms affect me and why. Why do I love certain artists? It's that ones that respect that purity in making, sharing and others receiving their art. When I'm DJ'ing in front of a crowd, there is nothing like it. I've spend 4-8hrs the week before prepping the tracks that I'd like the option of spinning. Then seeing people's reactions to each track that I LOVE that MOVE me... dropping them and seeing the reactions. The giving and receiving. When out dancing and receiving a DJ's vision of house music. It's Die Hard in a taxi! This week on DIE HARD ON A BLANK we're taking a ride with Tom Cruise and Jamie Foxx as we discuss Michael Mann's exemplary 2004 thriller COLLATERAL!Fastidious cab driver Max (Jamie Foxx) picks up a mysterious passenger named Vincent (Tom Cruise), who, impressed with Max's driving and knowledge of the sprawling city, offers to hire him for the night while he makes a few stops around LA. However, Max soon discovers that Vincent is in fact a contract killer, who then forces Max to drive him around the city so that he can assassinate a list of people involved in a massive federal case. As an ordinary guy pitted against a skilled and ruthless hitman, Max must somehow find a way to survive and stop Vincent from completing his deadly mission. After outlining the surprisingly dense and detailed amount of ‘DIE HARD DNA' in this jazz-infused LA neo-noir, the guys wrestle with a fundamental question: is this the greatest thriller ever made? They get into the film's philosophical themes, discuss the remarkable against-type performances from the two leads (and the stellar supporting cast) and place this film in context within Michael Mann's filmography. The guys wrap things up with a highly competitive edition of the DIE HARD OSCARS (there's a ton of love for Mark Ruffalo) and the always entertaining DOUBLE JEOPARDY trivia quiz!TRAILER: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-JDf2zIFgO8At the time of release, COLLATERAL is streaming on Paramount Plus and Kanopy in the US, and is available to rent or buy on Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV/iTunes, YouTube, Fandango and all the usual platforms! It is also available on physical media!Click here to subscribe to our Patreon feed 48 HOURS OF BUDDY MOVIES!www.patreon.com/48hoursofbuddymovies Hosted on Acast. Tonight's Triple Feature is a director spotlight on Michael Mann, a filmmaker who has built his career around professionals under pressure and the costs of living by codes. We begin with Ferrari (2023) — a film Mann spent decades trying to make. Starring Adam Driver as Enzo Ferrari, the movie takes place in the summer of 1957, when Ferrari's company was facing bankruptcy, his marriage was crumbling, and the infamous Mille Miglia race loomed large. It's not just a biopic but a portrait of obsession: the relentless drive to build something lasting, even as personal and public tragedies pile up.From there we move to Heat (1995), Mann's defining crime epic. Al Pacino plays Vincent Hanna, an LAPD detective, while Robert De Niro plays Neil McCauley, a career thief. Both men are at the top of their respective crafts, and both are consumed by their work to the point of personal ruin. The film's legacy is monumental—praised for its authenticity, its attention to detail in portraying criminal life, and of course, the first face-to-face meeting of Pacino and De Niro on screen. Finally, we close with Collateral (2004), a lean, modern thriller shot largely on digital cameras when that technology was still new. Tom Cruise plays Vincent, a contract killer who hires Jamie Foxx's cab driver, Max, to ferry him around Los Angeles during a night of assassinations. It's a film about chance encounters, moral choices, and the ways ordinary lives are disrupted by the professional ruthlessness of others.Together, these films illustrate Mann's enduring obsessions: characters defined by their craft, stories where professionalism is both armor and curse, and worlds where the pursuit of excellence isolates people from human connection. Whether it's a race car mogul, a master thief, or a contract killer, Michael Mann's protagonists live—and often die—by the codes they set for themselves.Disclaimer: The following may contain offensive language, adult humor, and/or content that some viewers may find offensive – The views and opinions expressed by any one speaker does not explicitly or necessarily reflect or represent those of Mark Radulich or W2M Network.Mark Radulich and his wacky podcast on all the things:https://linktr.ee/markkind76alsohttps://www.teepublic.com/user/radulich-in-broadcasting-networkFB Messenger: Mark Radulich LCSWTiktok: @markradulichtwitter: @MarkRadulichInstagram: markkind76RIBN Album Playlist: https://suno.com/playlist/91d704c9-d1ea-45a0-9ffe-5069497bad59

After a shock hiatus, The Brothers Wilson have returned to not only bring you up to speed with their summer, but also to shine their latest spotlight on Jamie Foxx. There are some unfortunate turns of phrase by the hosts when assessing Foxx's Oscar-winning turn in the Ray Charles biopic Ray, then one host waxes lyrical about the moral shades of grey on display within crime thriller Law Abiding Citizen. And, to finish off, the podcast returns to the oeuvre of Quentin Tarantino as Foxx takes on the titular role within Django Unchained. There's a new jingle based upon Ian's insistence that film critics be referred to, whilst Pandy tries to get some new phrases off the ground and into the popular zeitgeist. Also, we head into the next episode with only two films firmly in mind.

RIP Sly Stone, Jamie Foxx cries again, LA protests, Lee Corso's hype video, Justin Baldoni v. Blake Lively, and everyone's on Ketamine. Sly Stone dead at 82. Sylvester Stallone is still alive.
