Moving to Cleveland from the East Coast for a job with a planning and architecture firm, Jill got to experience how cool it was to live and work downtown before it was cool. However, life has a way of showing us what our paths should really be. So when the 14-year-old firm had to shut its doors as a result of one of our national recessions, Jill, after living in town for a little more than a year and barely knowing anyone, had to figure out what her next course of action would be (while she was perfecting her suntan on her apartment complex's sundeck). With the encouragement from her father (who was an entrepreneur all his life), Jill decided to develop a career in real estate sales and the rest, as they say, is history. Through hard work and creative marketing, Jill was able to build her real estate practice to the extent that she had to hire a staff of four and became known throughout the Cleveland area for her successful skills in getting the job done for her buyer and seller clients, averaging up to 100 sales a year. The ultimate reward, though, was in 2002 when opportunity knocked and she took the risk, along with 8 other courageous real estate professionals, to bring Keller Williams Realty, a totally unknown entity, to the Cleveland area. Starting with 24 agents December 5, 2002, the brokerage has grown to over 2000 agents in the area with Keller Williams Realty's becoming the largest real estate company internationally. Currently, Jill helps those who want to grow their businesses through repeat and referral business with a “tangible touch” tool known as Promptings. She is passionate about the power of keeping in touch (The fortune is in the follow-up), and with this high-tech/high-touch system, she offers businesses of all sizes a way to keep in front of their prospects and clients with real cards, gifts and/or gift cards selected and/or created from their smartphones or computers. When she is not helping others grow their businesses, she is busy either exploring cultural treasures (both within and outside of Cleveland), salsa dancing or getting to the gym to burn off those calories that seem to creep up. Sports Card Strategy Show: What To Do With Your Vintage Sports Cards, Loving The Game Of Sports Cards, NFL Predictions 2021, Don't Get Stuck With The Next Laurence Maroney! One thing I've realized I'm missing in my Sports Card Content Strategy is a long form podcast. I really enjoy Sports Cards Nonsense and Card Talk, and I have become inspired to create my own long form show. So I recruited my longtime friend Nate Murphy to co-host a show with me. Nate is a great guy, very knowledgeable about all kinds of sports topics, a past fantasy football champion, and an avid sports talk radio listener. Nate and I also used to host a fantasy football show together back in Michigan in 2006 at a Sports Bar called Norm's Field of Dreams. But even better than that show was our ability to have phone conversations daily that, if recorded, would have made phenomenal content. So we've connected again to create content, this time centered around our re-entry into the Sports Card hobby after 30+ years. In this episode, Nate talks about his history collecting cards, his ability as a kid to keep wax boxes sealed, how many he still has left sealed, and which ones are the most exciting between he and his dad. Nate and his dad went from collecting cans after U-M football games, to buying packs, going to card shows and buying sealed boxes, now fast-forwarding 30+ years to wanting to figure out what they've got value wise - not for the money necessarily, but for the fun. The Sports Card Strategy Show hits on the balance between the fun of collecting, to the fascination of flipping and investing. In this episode we also talk about the importance and art of negotiation at card shows, to the ability to recognize patterns in the modern card market and start to make plays. We really dive into what to do with your vintage sports cards like 1989 Ken Griffey Jr. Rookies, etc, and how freaking fun the game of sports cards is. Who's Hot Right Now and Why! Which one of these guys is the next Laurence Maroney? Mac Jones Trevor Lawrence Justin Fields Immanuel Quickley Bol Bol Killian Hayes Jameis Winston Teddy Bridgewater Wander Franco Vlad Guererro Jr. And at the end of the show we make some NFL predictions for 2021 and what they mean for which players and cards to target. This kind of strategy will be continued in future episodes of the Sports Card Strategy Show. Thanks for watching and listening! The market at Lloyd's is a place where groups of individuals and corporations can transact insurance. After hundreds of years it has developed a strict method of placing insurance. The Corporation of Lloyd's never sells insurance itself and is not at risk on the insurance sold on the floor at Lloyd's. Rather, the underwriter members subscribe to cover all or part of a proposed placement of insurance, at their own election. Numbers of individual underwriters, many in England but others scattered throughout the world, have joined together to form syndicates. Syndicates may have anywhere from two or three to hundreds of members. The individual members are known as the “names” on that syndicate. These syndicates are the entities which subscribe on behalf of their members to cover risks and percentage parts of risks. The actual potential liability of a given name depends upon his percentage share of the syndicate of which he is a member, as well as the percentage of the risk to which his syndicate has subscribed. Lloyd's includes a number of different types of members who are involved in the business of insurance at Lloyd's. Individual members or “Names” — high-net-worth individuals whose exposure to the insurance risks they underwrite is unlimited – and corporate members formed exclusively to underwrite insurance business at Lloyd's. Currently, underwriting is also conducted by partnerships and syndicates that include individual and corporate names. When insureds receive Lloyd's policies of insurance, what they actually obtain are commitments from each individual, corporate, limited liability, or partnership insurer (the underwriters) to pay claims up to their entire assets. The Names are jointly and severally obligated to the insured for the percentage of the risk each has agreed to assume. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/barry-zalma/support

Graduate of the University of Colorado Boulder, entrepreneur, health enthusiast, and engineer who likes to build businesses that make the world a more interesting and sustainable place, Anthony Pigliacampo is the founder and co-CEO of Modern Market. Modern Market opened its doors in 2009 with the mission is to serve delicious, healthy food that moves us forward. Since it's first location almost 10 years ago, Modern Market  has scaled to 28 restaurants in 5 states with many more in development. Show notes… Success quote or mantra "Onward and upward."  "Treat every day like day one." In today s episode with Anthony Pigliacampo, we discuss:  How Anthony broke into the industry.  What he learned about the food system and food economics while working as an engineer for MacDonalds.  How Anthony wanted to create a restaurant that wasn't only economically healthy, but that also served healthy food.  The benefits of treating your small business like a big business from day one. How to raise money for a restaurant with no prior experience in the restaurant industry.  "Blocking and tackling" projects and challenges.  Having cash reserves in the bank to live off during the early lean days.  When tackling challenges, starting with the end in mind and reverse engineering a solution.   The benefits of having a partner to divide and conquer the work load. Especially, in the early days when you're developing, and fine tuning your systems while managing and growing relationships with guests and team members. It is a lot to do by yourself.  Staying dialed into your numbers, so you can track the impact of your efforts and keep your thumb on progress.   The significance of trust in a partnership.   How partnerships hinge on agreeing to the same long-term goals. While you must agree on the long-term goals, it is actually healthy to disagree on the day-to-day decisions.  Why you need to be fully committed to removing yourself from the day-to-day, if you desire to scale.  How prioritizing, blocking, and tackling plays its role on removing yourself from the day-to-day. Creating a culture where your line staff is encouraged to speak up and share when they see something being done wrong or something that could be done better.  If you want people to buy in, then do what you say you're going to do.   Scaling  culture: Using technology to expand your reach and presence; Anthony holds live chats that anyone who works for him can attend.  Taking the extra time and effort to hire people with the same values as you.    Why capitalism is the solution to effective change.  Today's sponsor: EthicsSuite.com -provide a safe, secure, simple and anonymous communication channel between you and your employees to help you protect your hard-earned reputation and assets. Demonstrate to your team that you are committed to providing a workplace that operates with the highest ethical standards. Staying informed about important issues will help you resolve them internally before they spiral into larger, costly, or public problems. Their most notable references include the Clinton-Trump presidential debates, the Suffolk County prison in New York, the Royal Family of Qatar, Citi Field (the New York Mets' stadium), and the World Economic Forum in Davos. In today's episode, Bobby joins us in the studio to discuss insight selling in the modern market and why he takes this approach. First, he talks about the differences between solution selling and insight selling. He defines solution selling as "Sales 101" where you get a deal by finding customer pain points and fitting your solution to those pain points within your prospect's budget. Bobby sees most companies using solution selling and sees an opportunity to differentiate by using insight selling, which he says allows you to position yourself as a subject matter expert and establish credibility and legitimacy. Bobby says that if you employ insight selling the right way, you form more of a partnership with your prospect or customer, leading to a higher rate of renewals. He discusses the challenges of insight selling and why it's not for every rep, along with some of the difficulties he's faced teaching reps how to insight sell and some solutions for getting around them. Finally, Bobby says not to be afraid of making visionary statements during the sales cycle versus just talking about what your product does, and he recommends reading this Harvard Business Review article.

Kakha Bendukidze, one of Georgia's key reformers, will explain how his country is rapidly modernizing and will share his vision for continued high growth in a sometimes hostile neighborhood. Andrei Illarionov will assess Georgia's progress and highlight its remaining challenges in consolidating democratic capitalism. See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
