There's a phenomenon I call the “Soul Flow Effect” where it feels like everything comes together so smoothly – you go on vacation then get paid, you take a weekend off, then a client sign up for your program. A lot of people think this happens randomly, or that it should always feel “easy” or “flowy”. Uh, BIG NOPE! That assumption is why you can do all the meditation, pull all the cards, and write all the journaling and still not find yourself in “flow”. To help me answer that question is author, podcaster and broadcaster, Jessie Stephens. Demystifying The Definition of Ready Are you ready? Each time we hear these word, whether we are planning for a vacation, planning for a sprint, or about to receive BIG news, our minds go on auto-pilot and start running through the checklist to make certain everything is in order. My BIG ask is are we doing this too late in Agile? Let's talk about the definition of ready and how if it is not applied correctly is merely a symptom of a much larger issue. How to connect with AgileDad: - [website] https://www.agiledad.com/ - [instagram] https://www.instagram.com/agile_coach/ - [facebook] https://www.facebook.com/RealAgileDad/ - [Linkedin] https://www.linkedin.com/in/leehenson/
Did you know it's actually EASIER to 10x your goals than to 2x them? I recently read a book by Ben Hardy called '10x is easier than 2x' and the premise of the book (which makes total sense) is that to 2x your goals, you end up working harder than 10x'ing them because your rely on doing MORE of what you've already done to get you where you currently are. An example of this is in sales they say 'its a numbers game' and so to make more money you've got to make MORE calls, texts and emails instead of shifting how you think and building NEW systems. In this episode we'll talk about: WHY its actually easier for you to build a business that checks all the boxes of what you want in life. HOW to make more money by disrupting a highly competitive market and creating new solutions instead of trying to compete with others. WHAT problems your existing market has and how to think radically different to solve them. My BIG vision to solve the problems when it comes to the educational system and learning how to create an online business. Be prepared to think 10x bigger and start creating your perfect business AND solving some of the biggest problems your industry faces! Want a good read/listen? My BIG question this week is around knowing when to hold 'em and when to fold' em. How do we know when its the right time to leave a job, relationship or even a friendship? In this episode I'm going to share with you some of the big moments in my life when I realized it was time for a change. When instead of going through the motions of doing something where the joy was disappearing, how I was able to make that decision to leave. We'll also hear from Dannii Minogue and Peter Helliar who share their own experiences of knowing when its time to walk away. My BIG question this week is around why we still objectify women, regardless of our age. It's something I've been thinking about since Martha Stewarts recent Sports Illustrated cover, and want to talk through with you, because giving an appearance related compliment can often be our default when we talk with other women. But are we tired of this message that our value and sense of self worth is purely in what we present on the outside? Is outside validation about our appearance what we want to be our yardstick as women for getting older? Is time we stopped objectifying one another? Let's chat it through in this episode! My BIG question this week is around Mothers Day, and why it isn't a Hallmark card for many of us. Mothers day can bring up all sorts of difficult, conflicting, hurtful memories and in this episode I want to talk about why its okay to not buy into the commercial messaging that surrounds it. Mothers Day can increase your sense of isolation, aloneness, and grief, feelings that I want to talk about with you. So pop the kettle on, or your joggers and join me for a walk as we work our way through this BIG conversation surrounding Mothers Day. My BIG question this week is around internet trolls and why their comments still hurt. I've received unsolicited commentary about my body for years, and I've had enough, it needs to stop. We know it's easy to say unkind things when you're anonymous, but isn't it time we all considered the wider consequences of these inciteful words? While I'm hurt by recent words, I'm not broken and in this episode I've got some big questions for all the bullies out there hiding behind their keyboards. My BIG question this week is around social media filters; Are they harmful or helpful to our self confidence? Are they making us feel inadequate by seeing an airbrushed version of ourselves instead of how we look in real life? And could this be having an impact younger people becoming more obsessed with their appearance? A new trend called the teenage filter is taking this to a new level where users can turn into a younger version of themselves which is causing everything from tears right through to cosmetic procedures. So in this episode I'm going to share with you what happened when I tried them out, and why I think we need to have more conversations around this growing trend. My BIG question this week is around the word housewife. What do you think when you hear that word? Is it relevant or is it outdated? It can mean different things to different people. Is it about empowerment and about doing life on your own terms? Is there room for a new age housewife? In this episode I'm going to share with you what the word housewife means to me as a modern woman and feminist. My Big question this week is around celebrities, and why we can sometimes feel an enormous sense of loss when we hear that they've passed away. It's something I've been thinking about since the recent passing of Lisa Marie Presley, and want to talk through with you, because I know I can feel quite an emotional response when I hear that a celebrity has died. So why is it that this news has such a big impact on us? In this episode I'm going to talk about why I think it is we mourn people in the public eye, and whose death has impacted most on me. My BIG question this week is around relationships, and the key to making them work. Its something I've been reflecting on as my husband Petee and I recently celebrated our 19 year anniversary. Full disclosure: the start to this year feels different. It kind of freaked me out at first (what?! No goals? No PLAN?). Now, just a week in, I'm at peace with it. I'm seeing the purpose in the "fog". I'm intentionally easing into the new year... (keyword EASE) stepping gently and slowly, just like the freshly-hatched baby sea turtle I discovered while on vacation at the beach in Cabo San Jose' last week. In this season, it's what I need. Maybe you do, too. There's no hurry. Driving to the airport on New Year's Eve, I hesitantly thought to myself, "Well, I hope I come back from this trip with some kind of plan!" And... I did not. What I did come back with was more of a vision for priorities and a trust that all plans will unfold exactly as they're supposed to, exactly when they're supposed to. Because God's timing is always perfect. On this episode, I'm sharing my vision (so far) for 2023. You'll learn: • My "Big 3" for 2023 • Where I'm focused right now, in Q1 • What I'm getting back to that I haven't done since early 2020 • My word of the year • My #1 marketing strategy for 2023 Are you wanting to make 2023 a different kind of year? My Big question this week is around Reality TV, and just how much of it is actually real. In this episode I'm going to do a deep dive on this and share my experience with reality television over the years. I'll reveal to you which shows I've been offered and said no to, and the ones I've said yes to and why. Plus I'm joined by special guest Hugh Sheridan where we share what happened behind the scenes on a Reality TV show we worked on together where everything was not as it seemed. My BIG question this week is: Is it better being an older cover girl? It's something I've been reflecting on as I am very excited to be on the cover of the Australian Women's Weekly Christmas Edition. So in this episode I'm going to share with you what came up for me as a 52 year old women being on the cover, how it makes me feel when I look back on my younger modelling years, and when I've been most comfortable in my own skin. My BIG question this week is around school reunions, and why they can bring up all sorts of emotions for us. It's something I experienced recently and want to talk through with you, because school can be a fraught time for some of us trying to make sense of who we are and we might not want to revisit those teenage years at a reunion. When you are around a group of people from a certain formative time in your life you can fall back into those ways of behaving and seeing yourself and it can be triggering and bring up all sorts of emotions. So in this episode I'm going to share with you the emotions that came up for me at my 35 year reunion, and why I was happy I made the decision to go. My BIG question this week is around embracing our grey ‘sparkles' and is it a brave thing to do? It's something many of us faced during the Covid lockdowns when we couldn't get to the hairdresser. But if its how we naturally look, and matches the stage of life we're in, is it the right time? It's also one of those topics that raises the issue of double standards between men and women. Why is it when a male celebrity embraces his grey hair he's a silver fox and sexy, but when famous woman dares to do the same, she's labelled as brave? In 2009, Pixar's Up brought my gnarly heart to tears. (My BIG tearjerker is still ET of course – when the flower blooms – but I digress.) Yesterday we talked about Psycho, and the attention storytellers generate when they show us that the world isn't what we think it is. But it's more than attention that's being created; it's opportunity. Opportunity for persuasion. Opportunity for change. The opening 11 minutes and 34 seconds of Up are a masterclass of storytelling, particularly the montage that begins at 7 minutes 14 seconds. For four wordless minutes, we watch as the dreams of Carl and Ellie Fredricksen grow, falter and fail. It's beautiful work, but it's also necessary. Without that montage, Karl is just another grumpy old man sitting on a porch. And in stories (as in business) the frame is the game. The oft-cited Medium post, "The Greatest Sales Deck I've Ever Seen", starts like this: 1. Name a Big, Relevant Change in the World And that makes sense because humans don't do anything unless there is tension. Karl's whole world changes when Ellie dies. Rose Walker's whole world changes when she meets Jack on Titanic. Harry's whole world changes when Hagrid arrives (on the world's 2nd-best motorbike*). Each of these reframes the world and creates a tension that MUST be resolved. By adventure. By death. By Hogwarts. But this isn't just for stories. Before I talk to clients about story or status or copywriting, I work to reframe their world. Whatever our business, the frame IS the game. --- This is one of thirty riffs on #Business #Storytelling. My Big question this week is Should we give Meghan Markle a break? The anti-Meghan outcry is far from over, and its something I want to talk through with you, because even after stepping back from Royal duties, it appears the world is still divided over Meghan Markle. Here is a strong woman who says what she believes in, and has been very open about her Mental health. My BIG question this week is 'Should you wait for someone to ask for help before you step in?' Molly and Madison take on “My Big, Fat, Greek Wedding” because they were inspired by their own adventures in bridesmaid dress shopping. They will do arguably the worst Greek accents you've ever heard and scream over the different hair choices this masterpiece has to offer. They also look in-depth at the background and creation of this film, but they mostly do impressions of Andrea Martin.
My Big question this week is Do you lose your 'sexy' as you get older? It's something I want to talk about because losing our sensuality and sense of selves is something that can happen to women later in life, especially when we become mothers. But is it possible for us to manage all of our responsibilities as caregivers, and feel sexy at the same time? In this episode I'm going to talk about what it means to be ‘sexy', how we can embrace sexy at any age, and the confronting moment I realised that I'd lost that sensual side of myself, and fallen out of tune with the essence of who I was. My BIG question this week is around Botox, and if we should own up to having it. It's something I've been thinking about and want to talk through with you, because its one of those subjects that people don't always feel comfortable talking about. So in this episode I'm going to share with you why I get it, and why I think we need to be honest about it. 3 weeks ago, Shackleton's ship the Endurance was located 9800 feet beneath the Ocean's surface near the antarctic. One ship: 144' long Crew of Shackleton and 27 men One aim: the first to cross the Antarctic continent and become the first to cross it Foundational reality: Your seas are changing, the weather patterns are becoming more unpredictable. Today the swells are 1-2 feet, and in an hour they are 5-8. Chaos is the standard and unpredictability is the new predictable. Your choice: either take your existing boat out into the unpredictability of the seas… OR learn from what the seas are telling you, and build a different boat. Would Shackleton, knowing the tumult of the Antarctic, have taken the same boat? Would he have not gone? NO! He would have built a better boat and designed a better map. Let's look at the route of the Endurance Trapped in Jan 1915 Crushed in Oct 1915, Sunk Nov 1915 Departed isolated spot April 1916 (15 months in one isolated spot!!!!) Final crew rescued Aug 30, 1016 (18 months after being trapped) 28 total men, in barren ice, with torrential weather, full days of either all light/ all dark. Every single person made it out alive. But in order to survive, Shackleton displayed the RPMs of Navigating hard things… Repetition: he did the same thing over and over Repetition is the mother of all learning “Vision without IMPLEMENTATION is hallucination!” Methodical, repetitions beats hail mary's and home runs EVERY DAY I get made fun of for being a 1 trick pony, “hey, we want new content”. You are not in need of NEW content, you are in need of IMPLEMENTING the content that works. Trying to swing for a home run meant certain death…base hits equal life. 18 months Shackleton's men were forced to endure a harsh climate, unrelenting sun/darkness, starvation, isolation, and probably the worst reality of all…no day to day purpose. Daily Schedule… a routine: Morning: 6:30 a.m. Light the stove. 7:00 a.m. Emerge from tents. 7:45 a.m. “Lash up and stow!” Breakfast. Rolled-up sleeping bags are used as chairs, while the tent Peggies bring round each tent's ration of hoosh. Then chores, cooking, hunting, making improvements to the boats, exercising the dogs, returning back to the Endurance for further salvage. mostly hunting. Dogs fed at 5 p.m. Our dinner at 5:30 p.m. Seal hoosh, a bannock, and watered cocoa. Evening: Read aloud, cards, or singalong. Lights out at 8:30 p.m. Late conversation, if any, must be hushed; voices carry in the cold, dry air. By 10 p.m. all quiet except the first night watchman; we each have our watch hour assignment. Predictability Predictability is PROACTIVELY building the right stage of Culture embedded within the existing repetition Creating predictability is found in an old sailors creed, “He who is enslaved to the compass has the freedom of the seas.” Predictability means agreeing on the true north of Process, the true north of Vision/mission/values, and the true north of People…and then working the process like a good navigator works the instruments. My BIG win…we shared our 12 week plans with each other Tuesday and look at all that is getting done…(show pics of 12 week plans) Predictable schedule, goal, demeanor Wrong Time Wrong Question Healthy! What is micro-management…it's just UNPREDICTABLE LEADERSHIP? Seesaw of Predictability MEANING (INTENTIONALITY) Asking specific questions at specific times to specific people Pits and Peaks Open ended questions…”tell me more about that” Card Game at the end Family mission: to be a light through adventure, wisdom, and time around the table… Business mission: to liberate owners from chaos and make time for what matters Check Ins Team Meetings Culture Calendar MPR Culture Calendar: one simple way to be intentional New employees are less concerned about the technical expertise from day one, and more concerned about having access to what they need to succeed and feel connected to the culture.

Mennat is a fitness enthusiast, an ALL IN girl's girl, ex wedding planner/creative turned Pilates instructor! She has always adapted to the times where fitness is concerned, trying out all kinds of exercise styles the 90s and 2000s had to offer! Daughter of an Olympics participant and Step Aerobics Queen (her mama), movement was always a fundamental part of her life. Finding the Tracy Anderson Method in 2011 was a turning point where she was truly able to transform and grow a deeper connection to her body. It wasn't until after she had her second child, that she realized that her body stopped responding to the same eating patterns method and something inside was fighting back. Migraines, gut disruption being a main attribute to the imbalance she was feeling. Having a sister with autoimmune who cut out dairy, gluten and sugar opened her eyes to the possibility that the issue could have been internal. She took the plunge in August 2020 and signed up to the Journey with Paola. After over a year of internally diving in and revising past experiences, she has grown into an empathetic and intuitive holistic instructor that wants to help other women flourish and grow- both physically and mentally. Melanie Spears is the creator of my favourite journal, called “The Gratitude Diary." You may have already know this and it's quite likely you have your own copy. The transformation that I feel when I sit down to write in my Gratitude Diary is so powerful. I knew that I needed to reach out to Melanie to meet her personally and dive deep into her personal story. There is always a beautiful story, preceding the creation of a beautiful product like this and the messaging that permeates through our chat, resonated so deeply with me & I hope they resonate with you too. Melanie hit rock bottom whilst she was building her dream house with her partner. She ran out of money & her relationship hit a wall, and as a result, they broke up. In today's soul chat, she walks us through, how she navigated her way through this difficult time, how she came to “let go” of her dream and the amazing things that happened as a result. My BIG take away in today's soul chat…..PAYING ATTENTION TO WHAT IS RIGHT NOW. Upon reflection Melanie is super thankful for how her life has played out, grateful she lost all her money and that she is not in this relationship anymore, because this opened up a whole new pathway for her. She started journalling through this time, with the encouragement of her flat mate, they created a journal together for her, which she took to China to get printed. Melanie, who does not know how to spell, is just about to launch the 13th edition of this beautiful product & believes that because she is in alignment, life has supported her, by bringing the right people into her life to help her with what she needs support with. Now I felt Melanie words of wisdom in every cell of my body, I know you will too. Would I have to let go of my team? Shut down our courses and programs? Wave goodbye to some of our revenue streams while I figured out what would come next? These were just a handful of the decisions I faced after I realized that I Heart My Life (as it was) was no longer aligned with the mission and vision I'd originally set out to follow, and that the only options on the table were to pivot or to remain unfulfilled in my business. All I knew was that the company I'd been building for eight years wasn't working the way I wanted it to; that I was sick and tired of it not working, and that I couldn't settle for anything that didn't light me up for a moment longer. And although I had no idea what the solution would look like, I knew that if I just kept following the breadcrumbs, and continued doing my mindset work, I'd reach the answers I was looking for. As a seven-figure visionary who was steering the IHML ship, I definitely felt the weight of the responsibility on my shoulders to get this rebrand right. My team, clients, and community deserved answers—and I'd be lying if I said I didn't have my moments of fear, doubt, or uncertainty while I waited for clarity to come knocking on my door. But I held the faith, and believed that clarity would come. And it did—at the most unexpected of times. As I always say to my clients, you've got to trust the process. Because clarity always comes—you just can't always predict when. So if you're facing a pivot of your very own, or if your company no longer feels in alignment with your vision, know this: your clarity will come. Keep showing up, keep listening to your intuition, and keep holding faith that you're moving in the right direction. I promise the path ahead will get clearer with every step. If you haven't listened to Part 1 of our Rebrand Reveal Series, hit pause right now and go listen to Episode 228 first, so that you can get an insider look at the highs and lows (and there were plenty!) of my most transformational year in business to date—which led to my decision to reposition and revitalize the IHML brand in the first place. In this second and final part, I'm sharing the story of my dream photoshoot at the Greenbrier Hotel in West Virginia, and how I decided to prosperously pivot my business and launch IHML's sister company, the Emily Williams brand. If you're a driven business owner or corporate executive looking to massively grow your income and tune into your deepest desires through money mindset work, I invite you to join me on this new chapter. In This Episode: How the Emily Williams brand came to be The key differences between I Heart My Life and Emily Williams The part intuition played in my rebrand journey The story of my dream photoshoot at the Greenbrier Hotel Making difficult decisions around my team and existing programs What it means to prosperously pivot your business How I go about any big business decision Why clarity often comes at the most unexpected times How to know whether or not an opportunity is in alignment with your vision My BIG vision for the future of I Heart My Life and Emily Williams How you can join me on this journey Quotes: “It was very clear that I had to move my fear to the side, go for it, and pivot the company in the direction I wanted it to go in instead of waiting for it to happen organically.” - Emily Williams “Anyone who's made any shifts in business will know that it can be really scary to think about turning things off that are bringing in revenue. It can also be really scary to think about letting team members go if the only issue is that you don't have a space for them anymore. So the way I saw it, I had two options. I could continue promoting programs that were no longer aligned with the vision of the I Heart My Life brand, or I could go all in on the true vision of the brand.” - Emily Williams “I was sick of being busy. I was really sick of doing thing after thing, banging my head against the wall, wondering why it wasn't working as well as I wanted it to work. And the reality was that it was because it wasn't an alignment and it wasn't supposed to work.” - Emily Williams “One of the main things I teach our clients is that for every problem, there's an equal or greater solution—you just needed to figure it out. And I knew that I was going to figure it out. I knew that if I kept following the breadcrumbs, I would figure it out. I just had to trust the process. Clarity always comes. You just can't always predict when.” - Emily Williams “I metaphorically drew lines in the sand, knowing that was the best thing I could do for my own clarity, as well as for my teams'. I had to show the Universe that I was serious and that I was all in. Think about that for you. Where are you at right now in terms of your decisions? Are you waffling back and forth? Is it unclear when you make a decision? What decisions do you need to make that will make it crystal clear around what it is that you actually want?” - Emily Williams “Sometimes things change at the last minute. Sometimes clarity comes in at the final hour. And you have to learn to trust yourself enough to be like, you know what? This is so right, and I'm going to go with it, and I'm going to go all in.” - Emily Williams “One of the amazing things about transformation (and also about being the observer of yourself) is that you start to be able to tell what's true for you.” - Emily Williams “I gave myself permission to have my own moments of pivoting. I gave myself permission to do things a little bit differently. I gave myself permission to be true to myself.” - Emily Williams Links & Resources: Follow the I Heart My Life Show on Apple Podcasts https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/i-heart-my-life-show/id1569047758 Subscribe to the I Heart My Life Show on Spotify https://open.spotify.com/show/1Zw6fI37FrfVjZMXlMiZZ6 Connect with Emily: I Heart My Life Website https://www.iheartmylife.com/ I Heart My Life on Instagram https://www.instagram.com/iheartmylife/ I Heart My Life on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/iheartmylifenow I Heart My Life on LinkedIn https://www.linkedin.com/company/i-heart-my-life/ Emily Williams Website https://emilywilliams.com/ Get the Emily Williams Newsletter: https://emilywilliams.com/newsletter Emily Williams on Instagram https://www.instagram.com/emilywilliams Emily Williams on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/emilywilliamsmoney Emily Williams on LinkedIn https://www.linkedin.com/in/iamemilywilliams/ https://www.iheartmylife.com/newsletter Join the IHML community to receive exclusive announcements and tips. Hey monkiis, I was writing out a training program for myself and made up a really useful template on the spot that I wanted to share with the monkii family. Basically, I started with three high-level categories: Goals, Principles, and 2021 Events and then reverse-engineered a path to how I would train in congruence with those three categories. My BIG 3 plans for 2021 are 1) a mountain trail run somewhere between 30 and 50 miles, 2) Climbing a Big Wall in Yosemite National Park, and 3) Backcountry Bow Hunting in September. What is so fun above setting these huge goals is that you end up doing a bunch of other fun adventures and challenges in order to help 'train' for the big boys. I wrote out a 5-week training block that is mainly focused on General Physical Preparedness, but that also includes some targeted training for the One-Arm Pullup and One-Arm Pushup. I'll do some evaluation and a few fitness tests at the end and then set off on a new journey in 5-weeks. I'd highly recommend giving this process a shot and please let me know how it goes. As promised, check out the Wildman David Goggins Instagram. If you have questions, please send a note to info@monkii.co or send us a DM to @monkii.co on Instagram we can get more monkii Q&A sessions going. Thanks for tuning in and if you are enjoying the episodes we would be eternally grateful if you could leave a 5-star review. It helps to grow the monkii family and spread the good word of the Wild. Thank you. See you out there and monkii on, -monkii Dan www.monkii.co

Ralph Burns is the Founder of Tier 11, a wildly successful Facebook and Instagram ads agency. Today we talk about the certification course I attended, when I was brand new to social media marketing. I was a newbie but everyone saw my drive and determination that week during the training, which eventually helped me land a job with Ralph’s agency. My Big sis and I have a brief discussion about new habits. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
On this episode of THAT ACTUALLY HAPPENED... we speak to our panel of DJ STANLEE, Chris Paige, and PanicBoy. We have them suffer through the awkward Rap lyrics of Ted Nugent. Ted Nugent, the politically polarizing, extreme animal hunting, NRA super enthusiast rocker, from right outside of Detroit Michigan, finds himself dropping some rap lyrics on a very forgettable rap/rock track. After the huge success of Tone Loc's 1989 “Wild Thing” single, the HIP HOP giant DEF JAM records (or rather Rush Associated Labels) wanted a piece of this newly found Rap Rock gold rush. To cash in on this opportunity DEF JAM/RAL released THE DON's 1991 album “WAKE UP THE PARTY”. To give the album more rock "cred" they hired the “Wang Dang Poontang” artist himself, Ted Nugent. The Nuge does an interesting interpretation of Rap lyrics on the song "My Big 12inch”. Me and the crew break it all down. . The rest of the podcast we explore: What is Hip-Hop and what is not Hip-Hop, What are some of the worst rap names in Hip-Hop history, we get into a funny discussion about the rap group the Young Black Teenagers and Rachel Dolezal. In the end, we shout out to our very dear friend, and the very beloved Rick D. (RIP) of the Tri-Tone nightclub in downtown Philadelphia. This is a funny episode, please check it out. Any feedback or comments please contact me at Flip@StayOnTheBeat.com. ...and remember… Always Stay True, Always Stay Tuned. and Always Stay on the Beat.

In the comedy, My Big, Fat, Greek Wedding, Gus Portokalos, father of the bride, boasted, "Give me a word. Any word. And I show you that the meaning of that word...it is Greek!" When it comes to staying the course on the road to shalom, there are three Greek words that are essential. In this episode of the BikeJames Podcast I recap the insights and lessons I took from the recent Perform Better Functional Training Summit. It was a 3 day event in Long Beach that brought in some of the best coaches in the industry to share their knowledge. You can stream or download this episode by clicking the link below. You can also find the BikeJames Podcast on Itunes. My Big 5 Take Aways: 1 - Leverage and Torque based tension are different than Compression based tension. This is why the Mace and Indian Clubs are more effective for “real world/ farm boy” strength.2 - The Glute Bridge/ Hip Thrust deserves a spot with Squat and Hinge as lower body movement patterns that need to be trained. Ramping Iso Bridge achieves the goal of the loaded hip thrust.3 - The hips are made to create and absorb force along multiple planes and they need to be trained that way. 4 - Keto is overrated and misunderstood.5 - Functional Training needs to evolve past the current “Correctives + Kettlebells” formula. Until next time… Ride Strong, James Wilson
In Episode 8 of My Big, Black, Fantasy Podcast... With less than two weeks before the start of the NFL season, we give you the do's and don'ts for your Fantasy Draft and for your fantasy life. Do you pick Leveon Bell over David Johnson? Do you send your wife home while you stay in Hawaii? Do you draft a kicker in the 8th Round? Do you turn down sex until your wife says, I'm sorry? We're back with Adam's least favorite movie from the Damn These Heels film festival - "My Big, Gay, Italian Wedding." And for the first time ever, Adam and Chris disagree on a film, so there's a lot of fun back and forth between the two of us. Adam thought it was trying to be earnest and legitimate, and Chris felt the whole thing was poking fun at the rom-com genre. Either which way, we spend time ranting at each other and also discuss the fact that for the first time ever, the listeners knew more than we did. How so? Well, you'll find out! And be sure to check us out on social media and recommend any movies you want us to see @CinemaQueens!
I Am Multicultural | Interracial, Biracial, Blended Love Stories
This week’s multicultural movie review is on the romantic comedy My Big, Fat Greek Wedding. It’s the story of a young Greek woman Toula, who falls in love with a non-Greek man Ian, a high school teacher, and struggles to get her family to accept him (as the first non - Greek Guy to date someone in her family) while she comes to terms with her heritage and cultural identity. Author of Burn Your Couch, Rick Alexander is human movement advocate, military veteran, and ultra endurance athlete. We talk about his book, why you seek adversity daily, choice architecture, mindset, and intentional lifestyle design. If you refuse to settle for the status quo, then this episode of the OPP has your name all over it. Rick is a human movement advocate, US Military Veteran, entrepreneur who owns 2 businesses, podcaster, author of the upcoming book Burn Your Couch and an ultra-endurance athlete, who recently finished the Tahoe 200, where he ran 205 miles in 76 hours. Rick, like many of us, is intensely curious about the limits of our potential - both physical and mental. He's constantly pushing his own boundaries, documenting them through his podcast, articles, and now his book (and an upcoming project we discuss on the podcast) so that he can help others do the same in their lives. This is fantastic glimpse into the mind and habits of one of the strongest-minded individuals you will ever meet. My Big 3 Takeaways Don't confuse comfort for happiness. Expose yourself to adversity as often as possible - even daily as Rick does. Take time to reflect. Many of us are committed to life-long growth and evolution, but it is the stillness between experiences that allows us to identify our gaps or blind spots that we need to strengthen in order to continue growing. I hope you enjoy this show as much as I enjoyed recording it.
Lesser podcasters would not make the effort but I worked through a fever the previous night to make this podcast happen. You're welcome. Now listen to it, DAMMIT!!!! My "BIG" 3 Scifi News items are: Star Trek may be coming to Universal Star Wars: Secrets of the Empire coming to a Disney park near you Settlers of Catan the game and now, an upcoming movie Finally, here is the link to my survey. By filling this out, you are truly supporting me and this podcast.
I watched the documentary My Big fat Body by Frank Payne on Amazon Prime (it was included with the Prime membership). The movie shows Frank going through the process of losing 60 lbs. It was impressive. I wanted to see how Frank was doing now. The problem is he died at the age of 49 in 2012. So the video showed how his living of eating insane amounts of bad food had left its mark on his system. So if you need help getting off the couch, I highly recommend watching the movie. The Top Tools I Use I took at look at new habits and tools that I started using in 2016, and - more importantly - that I am still using. Here they are. Power Pressure Cooker XL Each Sunday I use my Power Pressure Cooker XL. Its the first thing that I purchased in 2016 that I got completely sucked into their infomercial. I throw in a bunch of chicken and 20 minutes later I pack it up. It's the best $99 I've ever spent. It's so popular, that people are now writing Power Pressure cookbooks for it with 123 recipes ($9). Ninja Blender Pro I use me Ninja Blender Pro to make smoothies, and mix protein shakes all the time ($59). So with the Power Pressure Cooker, I 've got lunch covered. With the Ninja Blender Pro I've got my breakfast covered. Storage Containers I got a set of Spin and Swirl storage containers that are on a carousel so it takes up half the room in your cupboard. I've had these for years. I know the reviews on Amazon say they are cheap, but I've never had an issue with mine. There are plenty of storage containers that go from the microwave to the dishwasher, etc
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice Fearing the actions of Superman are left unchecked, Batman takes on the man of steel, while the world wrestles with what kind of a hero it really needs. With Batman and Superman fighting each other, a new threat, Doomsday, is created by Lex Luthor. It's up to Superman and Batman to set aside their differences along with Wonder Woman to stop Lex Luthor and Doomsday from destroying Metropolis. My Big fat Greek Wedding 2 A Portokalos family secret brings the beloved characters back together for an even bigger and Greeker wedding.

There was so much great music this year that I could have made a dozen Best of 2010's. I had over 150 tracks in my "Best Of" playlist. My Big 10 for 2010: Derek Dunbar (he could do no wrong this year - congrats) DJ Sneak (House's hardest worker) Funk Mediterraneo (Buy his tracks - he is GOOD) Giom (So consistant - his DJ sets are stellar too) Random Soul (man...Australia has a great looking scene) Sonny Fodera (Everything he's had a hand in this year exploded) Sound Diggers (So funky) Tommy Largo (and he keeps getting better) Vernon & DaCosta (challenging Sneak for that hardest working title) Wattie Green (Funkier than 3 day old sox) Chemars, Armbar, Acumen, Manuel Sahagun & Tuccillo had outstanding years as well. 2010 Was an interesting year for me - constant flux - ebbs & flows - ups & downs but I tried my best to keep music at the forefront. 2011 looks to be a pretty good year. New digs (hopefully neighbours like beats). The radio show is in full swing on myhouseyourhouse.net (every other Saturday from 9-11pm est) and I will be adding video very soon. EP#1 on Mack-Music should be out by late summer early fall and maybe the website will be cooking too. Don't forget, if you have some original material that you feel fits this podcast contact me & I will try to get it on here or myhouseyourhouse.
