In this spiritually transformative experience (STE) hosted by the Enlightened World Network, we will discuss and meditate on how everyday, common experiences such as playing video games, dreaming, computer coding, music and movies can teach you how to use code and commands to program your life and become the reality hacker you were made to be, the reality hacker you were born to be. This STE is going to work best for you if you have pure motives. Source wants to give you power to uplift and benefit humanity and entering into this meditation with the motive to bless humanity is going to serve you very well. After all, we are ONE. In this episode of the Cinema Australia Podcast, I'm joined by internationally-renowned filmmaker Scott Hicks for what I consider to be a very special interview.  Interviews like this are the exact reason I launched Cinema Australia just over ten years ago. I set out to capture Australian filmmaking stories, and th those that Scott shares here about his career are priceless. As a keen Australian film enthusiast, I spent most of this interview in a state of awe.  Scott shares previously untold stories here, such as the complete narrative behind the production of his unreleased tele-movie, Call Me Mr. Brown, and the time he tactfully guided a inebriated Bill Hunter back on track. Scott also talks about learning from filmmaking giants like Peter Weir and Bruce Beresford, his creative partnership with Australian acting legend Chris Haywood, and of course we talk about Shine.  Scott and I actually got so caught up talking about his career that we almost ran out of time to discuss his latest film, The Musical Mind… A Portrait in Process. We do get there eventually towards the end of the interview, so if you're here specifically for that, hang in there. An Emmy, Peabody and multiple AACTA award-winning filmmaker, Scott Hicks has also been nominated for two Academy Awards as Director and Writer, and British Academy Awards for Directing and Best Film. His documentary on Philip Glass was short-listed for Oscar® nomination and nominated for an Emmy. He was honoured as South Australian of the Year in 1999 and then as Australian of the Year for South Australia in 2008. Scott received a Doctorate of Letters and a Premier's Lifetime achievement award. Together with his close friend David Chiem, CEO of global company MindChamps, Scott formed MAY30 Entertainment to create quality entertainment for the international market. The Musical Mind… A Portrait in Process marks the first releases for MAY30. Sparked by the impending 25th anniversary of the Academy award-winning blockbuster Shine, The Musical Mind… A Portrait in Process explores the power of the musical brain. Featuring exclusive, intimate footage of super-star international musicians in their private worlds, it opens an intriguing portal into the musical mind. Anyway… enjoy.

Scott Hicks is an Academy Award nominated director, with his Best Picture nominated film Shine bringing his work to international attention, alongside the work of the films subject, pianist David Helfgott. We're now some twenty-six years removed from the release of Shine, and the echoes of its impact continues to resonate within the creative minds of those who have become vessels for music. In Scott's latest film, The Musical Mind: A Portrait in Process, he explores just how that well of creativity is tapped into as he follows the lives and stories of four interconnected artists.First is David Helfgott, the centrepoint for each figure and a vital creative force who encourages, inspires, and energises those around him. Moments with his wife, the late Gillian Helfgott, show a supportive, nurturing relationship at work; one where Gillian sees the brilliance of David's mind and the manner that it operates and navigates his path of musicality. Then we meet the man who as a boy played the role of a young David Helfgott's hands in Shine: Simon Tedeschi. Simon is a genius in his own right, and with his story we hear how he navigated the complicated reality of being labeled a 'child prodigy', while also exploring the fractious state he was left in due to that level of reverence. We then flow into the orbit of another youthful genius mind, Daniel Johns. For many, we came to know Daniel through Silverchair, the iconic Australian band that worked with David Helfgott on their magnificent opus 'Emotion Sickness'. Daniel's story is one full of deep complexity. Here is a man who daily tries to grapple with what it means to be a creative entity. Like Simon, it's a complicated state to be in, and not one that Daniel himself fully understands as he sees himself as a conduit for the music, rather than being a musician himself. Finally, swirling into the orbit and feeling the tonal resonance of Shine play out in his own life, is Ben Folds. We see his Adelaide home and hear how his creativity moves forward in unexpected ways. In one awe-inspiring sequence, we see Folds train a captive audience in how to harmonise both together and separately, creating an aural experience that encompasses your heart as you hear it play out. These four figures - David, Simon, Daniel, Ben - each create a layer of a symphony that is tied together by the conductor Scott Hicks. The Musical Mind is a powerful and fascinating exploration of creativity and how important it is for it to be nourished and nurtured by those who see it emerging within individuals. In the following interview, recorded ahead of the films release on November 23, Scott talks about how his own creative mind works, how the sense of dreaming plays out when he's making a film, and what it means to be a filmmaker in Adelaide. Lumina Gold Trades on the TSX Venture Exchange under the ticker LUM and OTCQX symbol LMGDF. Good day gentlemen. Thank you for joining us today on B2B Interviews.B2B (00:34): I thought you might begin with a brief introduction and overview of the company.MK (00:40): Lumina Gold is part of the Lumina Group. It was a group founded by Ross Beaty. Originally, it was Lumina Copper Company back in 2003/ 2004 with a view that copper would move from 85 cents up to a couple dollars. It went right through that and up to about $4. Anyway, we raised about $275 million in market and returned about $1.6 billion to shareholders. We had several copper projects in mining friendly countries and basically, after we dispositioned all those projects, Caserones Mine was one of them and then Taka Taka is a development project that First Quantum has. We decided to turn our focus with the management team to the gold space, so we entered Ecuador in 2014 and acquired Cangrejos and that was a project discovered by Newmont, which had no reportable resource on it at the time.Through all the drilling work that we did in publishing from 2014, publishing a 2020 PEA, we have about 17 million ounces of gold in all categories and about 2.2 billion pounds of copper. Basically, right now, Cangrejos is at the prefeasibility stage. We just finished a 36,000-meter drilling program in the field. We're doing the engineering work and we're advancing the prefeasibility study, looking at having that published in April timeframe in 2023. Scott, you might just want to run through some of the results of the 2020 PEA, just to give a high-level overview here.SH (02:28): Where this project sits today, it's a massive project. As Marshall said, it has both gold and copper. It's about 80% gold by revenue, 20% copper by revenue. It's 25 year mine life that incorporates two large scale pits. It'll eventually be an 80,000 ton per day project, so it's quite large. It's the 37th largest gold deposit by resource size in the world and it'll produce just under 400,000 ounces of gold a year on average for those 25 years. We expect the net of the copper byproduct to be in and around $600 an ounce, which makes it a first quartile asset by cost per ounce. We're excited with the way the project's shaping up so far and we've completed about another 36,000 meters of drilling in the last 12 months to take it towards a prefeasibility study that we expect early next year.Access all of our exclusive CEO interviews and curated content as well as our terms, policies and 17B Disclosures at https://b2binterviews.com/ and follow us on social for alerts and updates as new content goes live.Twitter: https://twitter.com/b2binterviewsLinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/b2binterviews ...

Luminex trades on the TSX Venture Exchange under the ticker LR and OTCQX symbol LUMIF. Good day gentlemen. Thank you for joining us today on B2B Interviews.B2B (00:31): Gentlemen, I thought you might begin with a brief introduction and overview of the company.MK (00:35): Sure, Todd. Luminex was a spin out from its sister company Lumina Gold in 2018 and the strategy of our group, which we call the Lumina Group, has really been to separate our most advanced projects, which at the time was the one in Lumina Gold, and then spin out the other assets and look to do the same thing over time and create value for shareholders that way. All the projects we had in Ecuador at the time, with the exception of Cangrejos, went into Luminex. Our main project today is the Condor Project, which is about a six and a half million out sold project with a bunch of different deposits comprising that and then a very large land package throughout the rest of Ecuador with a heavy focus on the trend below and above Fruta del Norte and Mirador, which are the two operating mines in country right now. Our work is continuing at Condor with money that we raise in the capital markets and we're onto some pretty new exciting drill results there in an area we call Condor North. Then we have partnerships on some of our early-stage copper projects. We have a partnership with Anglo American, obviously a very large-scale copper producer. They're working on our Pegasus project in the north of the country and we have a partnership with Jogmec, which is a Japanese group, on our Arcadias project and they're doing some drilling there on a copper pour free target. Then the rest of the projects in the portfolio, we look to continue doing early-stage field work on those and we're continually evaluating other partnerships to help de-risk these projects without necessarily risking our capital, so it's a bit of a mixed strategy in this company. We have Condor, which is the gold project that we're using our own money on, and then taking a bit of a partnership approach on a lot of these earlier stage copper projects throughout the country. To access the full interview visit https://b2binterviews.com/luminex-resources .Access all of our exclusive CEO interviews and curated content as well as our terms, policies and 17B Disclosures at https://b2binterviews.com/ and follow us on social for alerts and updates as new content goes live.Twitter: https://twitter.com/b2binterviewsLinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/b2binterviews ...

The buzz was real in february. Every Friday is considered "new" music Friday for most media sites where everyone tries to get the latest scoop on what people will be listening to throughout the day. If you visited any comment section on February 24, then you most likely saw someone make a note about the song, "The Lost Art of Shutting Up." I initially heard about Totally Slow when they released their epic record called "Casual Drag." I kept thinking about how Refresh Records had found a good one and they better project this band to the world. The band followed up their third album with their February single, which was originally on a complilation album, but the group thought it made sense to release it as a single as well. When I started to poke around someone even told me "they should be the biggest band on the label." That is when I knew I had to have Scott on to talk about the new release and so much more. If you are a fan of 90s hardcore punk, then this is the place for you. Scott has been destined for this ride since his early days when he would pass around Dead Kennedy and Agent Orange cassette tapes on the bus. Now, he is opening for bands like Agent Orange. In this episode, we chat with Scott Hicks, VP of Corporate Development & Communications for Luminex Resources, a Vancouver-based Canadian & precious metals exploration and development company focusing on a Gold and Copper project in Ecuador. Over the last decades, Scott has worked on a variety of equity, debt, and advisory assignments in Canada and Australia. He talks about the company, its projects, and the general outlook for commodities. Luminex Resources is one of Ross Beaty's development companies so be sure to listen.   KEY TAKEAWAYS Luminex has the largest gold deposit in Ecuador, one of the biggest in the world, which also contains billions of pounds of copper. In 2022, the focus is their gold drilling programs and are advancing permitting for their vanadium and other projects. Their Ecuador-based partners include Anglo American and JOGMEC. Much of Ecuador has not been thoroughly explored using modern techniques. In 2013/14, the government began to actively encourage mining once again. The infrastructure in Ecuador is excellent, with good roads, hydropower, modern port facilities, and plenty of water. Many communities welcome mining, but in certain areas, there is some resistance. There is potential for more vanadium redox battery usage, so Luminex has a small company targeting that metal. Vanadium batteries don´t degrade, which makes a leasing model viable, that reduces the upfront costs involved in their use. Luminex has a good mix of assets in mining-friendly jurisdictions. The price outlook for gold is positive. In the podcast, Scott explains why he believes that is the case. With copper, grades from existing mines are degrading and new facilities are not coming on stream fast enough to meet demand. So, the copper price should remain strong. The company is also investing in and incubating other people´s mining projects. Examples of which are shared in the podcast.   BEST MOMENTS ‘We are sitting at about 17 million ounces of gold right now and about 2.2 billion pounds of copper. ´ ‘In Ecuador, the permitting process… is actually pretty fast.' ‘It´s early days in the vanadium space... but we´ve seen prices north of $600 a tonne for pig iron.'   EPISODE RESOURCES Websites: https://luminagold.com/ https://luminexresources.com/ https://strategic-res.com/   Twitter: @Scott_ITBM @lumina_gold @LuminexRes @StrategicRes   VALUABLE RESOURCES Email: rob@mining-international.org Website: https://www.mining-international.org/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/rob-tyson/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/MiningRobTyson Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/DigDeepTheMiningPodcast/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/theminingpodcast/ YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/c/DigDeepTheMiningPodcast/videos   ABOUT THE HOST Rob Tyson is an established recruiter in the mining and quarrying sector and decided to produce the “Dig Deep” The Mining Podcast to provide valuable and informative content around the mining industry. “Why don't they follow the rules?”  If you've ever heard this question asked about immigration, join Scott Hicks, Immigration Attorney and Pastor, for Episode 201. Scott's deep faith and grace-filled perspectives guide you to explore:  the myths about immigration how a culture of fear is perpetuating these myths how faith informs our response to immigration.  Then, explore with Scott how a shifting landscape is inviting a local congregation to innovate and connect as a community through technology.  Myths About Immigration Scott explores the myths perpetuated by lack of knowledge and media that keep individuals on a long waiting list that can last from 7-50 years. Additionally, he shares how long-term and recent history continues to perpetuate practices that are racist.  Culture of Fear When it comes to conversations about immigration, Scott explores how fear has informed the debate in congress. From threats of violence to “stealing jobs” the culture of fear around immigration has created a system that is enforcement based and runs contrary to what data shows to be true.  Perspective of Faith As an immigration attorney and pastor, Scott holds space to explore not only the legal implications of immigration but invites us to consider the faithful response as followers of Jesus. He reminds us of the greatest commandments and how loving God and not oppressing the foreigner, protecting orphans and widows appears throughout scripture. If loving God and loving our neighbor guides our actions as Christ-centered leaders, are there things we should be doing differently around immigration? We'll let you decide. Finally, Scott reminds us that being a follower of Jesus is not connected to a political party or a political ideology. Instead, when we start with our faith in Jesus, we lead others to encounter the love of God we know in Jesus.  Innovating Church When it comes to the intersection of church and immigration, Scott continues to be an advocate and educator. The challenges of the pandemic brought another reality to the local church Scott pastors. Explore with him how they've pivoted to an online community that is not only reaching people in their community but around the country.  Write it Down/Talk it Out Where are you starting in your understanding of immigration?  How do loving God and loving others guide your actions or inactions as a leader?  What is dying in your leadership so that new life can emerge.  Are you starting with Jesus? Or maybe the better question is what's the difference between starting with Jesus and starting from a political, whether it be liberal, conservative, Democrat, Republican point of view? What new challenges and opportunities are emerging in this time of leadership for you?

Scott Hicks joins the Selling Podcast this week to discuss Sales Leadership.  Here are some of the key take-aways...90's Management Process = Activity vs productivity and the focus of the 90's management style is to manage the process. How many 'x' are you doing this week? Current Management Process = What are you creating? The focus is to build something and there are many ways to get there. The 90's was about activities and not focused on the productivity. Lead and Lag measures are critical. With that stated, there is a need to connect with people and knowing that not everyone will fit into the standard process but create connections that a prospect or client will need to advance. How do you unlock potential in your salesforce? Management is NOT leadership. "Grace in the Workplace" is about meeting people where they are. Too many times, leaders are plucked from corporate bureaucracy. Do you want to get out of the "old way" of doing things?... stop hiring based on a system and hire for leadership.Scott Hicks shares their leadership hiring process.Share you thoughts with us at:Mike@TheSellingPodcast.comScott@TheSellingPodcast.com

The 1980s was an era defined by fear of Satan and the Occult, with a prevailing sentiment that we were all surrounded by an evil cabal of devil worshippers. Regardless of the fact that this was fiction, it shaped culture for years to come. In 2009, Ti West released the film THE HOUSE OF THE DEVIL, where we see what it would like if these evil cults were real. In today's episode of Toxic Schlock we explore what led to the Satanic Panic, and how it shaped an era. We're then joined by Scott Hicks of NC punk band Totally Slow to discuss Ti West's film, and its approach to 1980s aesthetics, nostalgia, and cinema.   Join our Patreon! Oh! The past! The past! Now we've done it.  We've made mother cross.  Imagine that sort of text and occasional narration over a feature length, black and white, largely-silent film comprised of quick cuts, sporadic sound effects, and haunting imagery.  Guy Maddin's experimental film is about an adult Guy (Erik Steffen Maas) recalling his childhood (as young Guy, played by Sullivan Brown) on an island, where his domineering mother (Gretchen Krich) ran an orphanage where they extracted a youth-bringing nectar from the skulls of their charges. He and his rebellious sister Sis (Maya Lawson) are visited by alluring and intrepid teenage detective Wendy Hale (Katherine E. Scharhon) determined to solve the mystery. And Isabella Rossellini narrates it.  And that about sums it up. If you'd like to watch ahead for next week's film, we will be discussing and reviewing Scott Hicks' Shine (1996)

Ross Beaty owns nearly 20% of Lumina Gold Corp. A few years ago the Syrian refugee crisis was all over the news. Pictures were showing up everywhere of people fleeing the violence in their home country. And of course, fear and a heated conversation on immigration were at the center of our political discourse. In the middle of all that, we had a conversation with Scott Hicks, a lawyer in Ohio whose practice centers in immigration law, to dispel some of the fears and misconceptions around this process. (You can read the Scott’s post that prompted this conversation here).

Thanks to the output of this years Melbourne Documentary Film Festival, I've been exposed to some truly great films that showcase stories from around the world that I never knew existed. China's 3Dreams is one such film. There are a lot of documentaries that Nick recommends seeking out at the end of the episode, so I'll link to some of them here: First of all, a link to Nick's website where you can find out about his films. And some of the films he recommended; Putuparri and the Rainmakers by Nicole Ma, Contact by Bentley Dean & Martin Butler, Snow Monkey by George Gittoes, Glass: A Portrait of Philip in Twelve Parts by Scott Hicks, Hephzibah by Curtis Levy and Prison Songs by Kelrick Martin. If you're in Melbourne when China's 3Dreams is playing, then make sure to buy a ticket here. Listen to my interview with Complicit co-director Heather White here.
