If you're wondering what you can do to improve your sales function, but you're not a salesperson yourself, then don't miss Steve Schrier on this episode of The Melting Pot. Steve knows sales. He's been a salesman, he's run sales, he's consulted on selling. His focus isn't on transactional one off sales, he sees sales as more deal making, consultative selling, doing deals in negotiating. In particular, as the business world moves towards an annual or monthly recurring revenue model with longer customer life cycles, rather than one off deals, Steve decided to help people get their sales function in order to write a book about it. Build Your Sales Tribe is a step by step guide for non sales managers, i.e. not salespeople, who are looking for a commercial structure to take their business on a high growth path and need to know everything about building and managing a sales organisation. In this conversation, Steve shares a little bit about his background, but the chat is mainly about the things he felt compelled to capture in the book, the things that non sales people wouldn't know, but need to know to grow their business in the Information Age. This is a fantastic conversation with Steve, we're sure you'll enjoy it as much as we did. Good leaders multiply disciple making ministry. And yet most of us would admit that our churches struggle with leadership development. Author of ‘Wisdom in Leadership Development' Craig Hamilton has lots of wisdom about how the average church can develop a leadership pipeline. https://matthiasmedia.com.au/collections/latest/products/wisdom-in-leadership-developmentCraig serves as senior minister of Pitt Town Anglican Church. His book includes ten commandments for creating a leadership pipeline. Going from one layer to the next takes intentionality and specific trainingThe goal isn't to ‘level up'Being good at a ministry doesn't mean you should advance up the pipeline Being awesome at one layer tells you nothing about whether you'll be awesome at the nextThe behaviours that cause success at one layer will sometimes compromise it at the nextDon't skip layersThe goal is not toe be optimally proficient in every skill at every layerThe further along the pipeline you are the more things changeThe pipeline can get clogged at any levelLife is often not as neat as the pipelinehttp://www.thepastorsheart.net/podcast/leadership-developmentSupport the show (https://www.patreon.com/thepastorsheart)

If you're looking for a virtual, hybrid and in-person meetings software that maximises audience engagement, retention and monetisation, then don't miss this latest episode of The Melting Pot, with Mike Piddock, founder and CEO of Glisser, the award-winning audience engagement software.Just over a year ago, Mike's original platform was all about how to drive interactivity in a physical meeting, but like a lot of companies, with physical meetings reducing to zero, he's had to pivot. Now Glisser is a hybrid events platform. But how do you run an amazing virtual event? How do you make a virtual event as good as it can be? And in a world where hybrid or blended is the future of events, how can you take in-person visitors to an event and blend them seamlessly with people who are coming in virtually? “I think the most common driver bringing prospective clients to us is that they want to go beyond the Zoom meeting, or they want to do more than just another team session.”So if you're a marketeer, or the CEO, thinking that you won't ever get to run corporate events again, or you're bored with Zoom meetings, or you want to spice up your internal training by turning it into amazing, interactive, responsive virtual training for your organisation, don't miss this great conversation with Mike. I've known Dr. John Rusin for over 6 years now – both as a friend and colleague. In that time I've had the pleasure of hosting John at four events, including the PPSC certification – which brought together 110 coaches from all over the world. In 2020 John's Pain Free Performance Training Certification course will be certifying close to 5,000 coaches all over the world because it straight up works. I love talking with John on the podcast because it's a chance for us to catch up and discuss how our thinking and experience around training has evolved. In particular, what we do with clients to get the absolute best results. In this episode I talk to John about sequencing, quality of reps, the structure of a great training session, rep ranges, pump work, and everything in between. Expect some great insights that will help you improve the training and coaching of your clients as well as your own training. Let's go. IN THIS EPISODE YOU’LL LEARN: How to use John’s P4 model (Prepare, Prime, Perform, Pump) in your own training to maximize gains The biggest mistake people make when taking a one dogmatic approach to their trainingThe definition of the “meathead de-load” and why you’re probably doing it (and why you shouldn’t!)What a true max effort method lift is and how you can rotate exercises and reps for maximal results and pain-free performanceWhy you should only “sprinkle in” true max effort reps and have them be absolutely pristineWhy the volume in a program should come from pain-free volume in the supplement and assistance work in training Why the KEY to working on your reps is based on your daily performance NOT on structured percentages (we reveal some methods we use)Why it’s not the smartest training 4 big lifts in the 1-5 rep range in the same session and what ranges to useHow to use energy system training to enhance your recovery and bring your lifts up (yes, cardio can bring your lifts up!)Novelty and why it’s so important for buy in – as well as getting better resultsHow to make a BIG difference with “slight variations” in your daily training programs and how it addresses the dynamic stabilityHow to de-construct the program for someone that has been in pain and switch it up so they get stronger and build muscle pain-freeHow to apply tools, methods, and exercises you like into your programming and STILL stick to the principles that will help you succeed with your training And much, much more. Today we connect for a second podcast with the red hot Sean Rice. Sean may well be the fastest surfski paddler in the world right now. He started off the year with a win and course record at the Amsterdam Waterland Marathon, then took his first win at Molokai and just recently won the Nelo Summer Challenge. I wouldn’t be surprised to see a win this weekend at the the Canadian Surfski Champs and next weekend at the Gorge Downwind Festival. Below is just a highlight of some of the key topics we cover in this 1 hour conversation: Relocating to the UK and getting back to structured trainingThe difference between being K1 fit and Surfski fitBreakdown of a week of training for SeanWorking with Haylie Nixon, doing paddle specific training & gym workSean's favorite cross training activity and whyRacing the Amsterdam Waterland Marathon as an unknown and getting the victory and course record. Follow your passion and it will lead you to your purpose In this episode of Peak Paddle Performance we catch up with Dawid Mocke in Hood River just before he heads out to race the Gorge Downwind Championships. This interview comes right on the heels of a victory at the Canadian Surfski Championship where Dawid proved that despite having extensive life commitments, he still can still compete and win at the world class level. Dawid is recognized by paddlers around the world as one of the most accomplished open ocean racers of all time, as well as a passionate teacher and entrepreneur. In addition to winning races all over the world, Dawid runs a surfski school in Cape Town, SA and manages a rapidly growing brand of paddling products he hopes will transcend surfski and become go to products for all paddlers wanting to outfit themselves with proven gear for their next adventure, whatever that might be. We ran short on time, so we didn’t go super deep in all the areas we could have covered, but despite that, this is still turned into a very entertaining, inspirational, and information packed 35 minutes with Dawid. In this short session we cover A week in Hood River gorging on downwind runsThe first early child hood experience that hooked Dawid on ocean paddlingDawid’s early days of competing and reaching the highest levels in surf life savingWhen Dawid knew for sure that ocean racing was this passionQuitting his full time job and starting the Mocke SURFSKI SchoolStarting the Mocke Product LineDawid’s approach to periodizationTraining volume as a full time athlete and now as a committed father and entrepreneurDawid’s thoughts on dry land trainingThe secret beach bikini workout that only Dawid would admit to doing We certainly plan to catch up with Dawid again sometime soon to go even deeper, but you definitely don’t want to miss this entertaining and information packed 35 minutes with one of the most inspirational paddlers in the world.
