544 God Reveals His Wisdom for His Purposes, a Guided Christian Meditation on Daniel 2:29-30 with the Recenter With Christ app The purpose of this podcast is to help you find more peace in your life and connect with the true source of peace, Jesus Christ. Outline: Relaxation, Reading, Meditation, Prayer, Contemplation and Visualization. Get into a place where you can sit comfortably and uninterrupted for about 20 minutes. You should hopefully not be driving or anything tensing or unrelaxing. If you feel comfortable to do so, I invite you to close your eyes. Guided Relaxation / Guided Meditation: Breathe and direct your thoughts to connecting with God. Let your stomach be a balloon inflate, deflate. Scripture for Meditation Daniel 2 NIV 29 “As Your Majesty was lying there, your mind turned to things to come, and the revealer of mysteries showed you what is going to happen. 30 As for me, this mystery has been revealed to me, not because I have greater wisdom than anyone else alive, but so that Your Majesty may know the interpretation and that you may understand what went through your mind. NKJV 29 As for you, O king, thoughts came to your mind while on your bed, about what would come to pass after this; and He who reveals secrets has made known to you what will be. 30 But as for me, this secret has not been revealed to me because I have more wisdom than anyone living, but for our sakes who make known the interpretation to the king, and that you may know the thoughts of your heart. Meditation: What role does knowledge play in the gospel and what role does it play in our life? Sometimes we can get caught up in thinking that our understanding is perfect or that we fully understand the mysteries of God. When we pause to think about it of course we recognize that our human understanding is limited. God's spirit is what lifts us up in everything, especially knowledge. Also there is purpose in God showing us His mysteries. God showed Daniel His mysteries for Gods purpose. God knows His goals. God is the one that can share a sliver of His mysteries. Our human brains are so limited. The book of John says that if all the books were written about Jesus were written the world alone could not hold them. Thank God that He gives us the knowledge we need to do what He needs usto do. Meditation of Prayer: Pray as directed by the Spirit. Dedicate these moments to the patient waiting, when you feel ready ask God for understanding you desire from Him. Meditation of God and His Glory / Hesychasm: I invite you to sit in silence feeling patient for your own faults and trials. Summarize what insights you have gained during this meditation and meditate and visualize positive change in your life: This is a listener funded podcast at patreon.com/christianmeditationpodcast Updates: Final Question: Final Thought: FIND ME ON: Download my free app: Recenter with Christ Website - ChristianMeditationPodcast.com Voicemail - (602) 888-3795 Email: jared@christianmeditationpodcast.com Apple Podcasts - Christian Meditation Podcast Facebook.com/christianmeditationpodcast Youtube.com/christianmeditaitonpodcast Twitter - @ChristianMedPod

As risk practitioners CISOs make risk vs reward decisions on a daily and sometimes hour by hour basis. As a profession we must understand our organizations risk tolerance and appetite as well as our own. Regulations are lagging indicators. SOX was established as a direct response to unethical behavior. Unfortunately, regulations in cybersecurity and data privacy are also "lagging indicators" that organizations "left to their own device" have failed to allocate sufficient reasonable cost-effective resources to mitigate the significant risk in prudent ways that place the organization in a position to demonstrate both due diligence and due care in a worst case scenario. CISOs must: 1 Understand your organizations risk tolerance and appetite 2 Know your own risk tolerance and appetite as well as your personal code of conduct and ethics. 3 Build and maintain your "rainy day", emergency or as my more colorful colleagues refer, FU funds. 4 Find your calm, peace and happiness. Today I talk with Lisa Allardice. As chief books writer at the Guardian and Observer, Lisa was tasked with reviewing Jillian Lavender's book Why Meditate? Because it Works. As it turns out, our meditation course had been recommended to her by a yoga teacher and she had been (as she puts it) “stalking our social media” for several years.Lisa learned Vedic Meditation from Jillian in November 2021 and then wrote a glowing review of the book and the course that was published in January 2022. As a result, dozens upon dozens of people have come to learn.I chat with Lisa about her journey of personal development, how Vedic Meditation compares to other modalities she has practiced, and how she manages to fit meditation into her busy professional and family life.So speaking of meditation, here's Lisa.-----Speaking of Meditation is written and produced by Michael Miller, with direction by Jillian Lavender and assistance from Emma Rae.Editing by James Green at Green Podcast Productions.https://www.greenpodcastproductions.com/Original music by Rich Jacques.https://www.richjacques.comGraphics by Elle and Elle.http://www.elleelle.comSpeaking of Meditation… What are you noticing? Bank of America's Patricia Pacheco De Baez has grit. She learned it from her fierce Latina mother, who taught her to work hard and strive for excellence – something Patricia has carried with her throughout her career journey. Patricia started as a temp in the financial industry, always grateful for every opportunity she was given – whether big or small. All she needed was a “foot in the door.” Once there, she began to stand out and advocate for herself early in her career. 432 I Say To You Get Up, A Guided Christian Meditation on Luke 7:11-16 with the Recenter With Christ app I'm Chaplain Jared and I work as a hospice chaplain and an ICU chaplain. My purpose in making this podcast is to help you find more peace in your life and to be more open for your heart to be changed by the Spirit of God. By using centuries old form of Christian Meditation named Lectio Divina: Outline: Relaxation, Reading, Meditation, Prayer, Contemplation and Visualization. Bible verses for Meditation: NIV 11 Soon afterward, Jesus went to a town called Nain, and his disciples and a large crowd went along with him. 12 As he approached the town gate, a dead person was being carried out—the only son of his mother, and she was a widow. And a large crowd from the town was with her. 13 When the Lord saw her, his heart went out to her and he said, “Don't cry.” 14 Then he went up and touched the bier they were carrying him on, and the bearers stood still. He said, “Young man, I say to you, get up!” 15 The dead man sat up and began to talk, and Jesus gave him back to his mother. 16 They were all filled with awe and praised God. “A great prophet has appeared among us,” they said. “God has come to help his people.” ESV 1 Soon afterward[c] he went to a town called Nain, and his disciples and a great crowd went with him. 12 As he drew near to the gate of the town, behold, a man who had died was being carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow, and a considerable crowd from the town was with her. 13 And when the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her and said to her, “Do not weep.” 14 Then he came up and touched the bier, and the bearers stood still. And he said, “Young man, I say to you, arise.” 15 And the dead man sat up and began to speak, and Jesus[d] gave him to his mother. 16 Fear seized them all, and they glorified God, saying, “A great prophet has arisen among us!” and “God has visited his people!” Meditation: What is the correct course for our lives? How do we know what the right way for our life is to be? Luke shares this experience where Christ dramatically changes the direction of this mothers life, and brings this young man back from the grave. How many people died during the time of Jesus and we don't have more than a couple examples where Jesus raised people from the dead. What is it that made the death of this young man special? The fact is that we do not fully understand the plan and way of God. Additionally the power that Jesus uses shows his absolute dominance over the limits of this world. The things we see as limitations are completely meaningless to Him. Yet with that said, those who follow Christ are in the same world and exposed to the same limits. Without the power of a supreme God we cannot escape those limits. The faithful are susceptible to human failings. The apostles were killed and died and Christ did not raise them in the mortal way. It is important to note that this is not referring to resurrection which is an essential gift God gave us through the resurrection of Christ. Resurrection is in the plan for each one of us. Imagine for a moment how wonderful it is to realize that we need not maintain a scarcity mindset regarding life. In other words we don't have to covet our own time and fear the inevitable loss due to mortality. If we celebrate stories like this how much more powerful is it to consider Christ resurrecting people by the millions or billions. God's power to undo the limits of our humanity can help us overcome the natural emotions that come from our mortality also. Ultimately it is God who controls this and we can learn to trust Jesus as our true savior both of body and spirit. This week's episode features Rev. David Hughes and focuses on I Corinthians 15:12-20. Meditation: What we say about death and resurrection gives shape and color to everything else. If we are not careful, we will offer merely a “hope” that is no longer a surprise, no longer able to transform lives and communities in the present, no longer generated by the resurrection of Jesus himself and looking forward to the promised new heavens and new earth.

This is Highly Advanced Epistemology 101 for Beginners, Part 11: Logical Pinpointing, published by Eliezer Yudkowsky. Followup to: Causal Reference, Proofs, Implications and Models The fact that one apple added to one apple invariably gives two apples helps in the teaching of arithmetic, but has no bearing on the truth of the proposition that 1 + 1 = 2. -- James R. Newman, The World of Mathematics Previous meditation 1: If we can only meaningfully talk about parts of the universe that can be pinned down by chains of cause and effect, where do we find the fact that 2 + 2 = 4? Or did I just make a meaningless noise, there? Or if you claim that "2 + 2 = 4"isn't meaningful or true, then what alternate property does the sentence "2 + 2 = 4" have which makes it so much more useful than the sentence "2 + 2 = 3"? Previous meditation 2: It has been claimed that logic and mathematics is the study of which conclusions follow from which premises. But when we say that 2 + 2 = 4, are we really just assuming that? It seems like 2 + 2 = 4 was true well before anyone was around to assume it, that two apples equalled two apples before there was anyone to count them, and that we couldn't make it 5 just by assuming differently. Speaking conventional English, we'd say the sentence 2 + 2 = 4 is "true", and anyone who put down "false" instead on a math-test would be marked wrong by the schoolteacher (and not without justice). But what can make such a belief true, what is the belief about, what is the truth-condition of the belief which can make it true or alternatively false? The sentence '2 + 2 = 4' is true if and only if... what? In the previous post I asserted that the study of logic is the study of which conclusions follow from which premises; and that although this sort of inevitable implication is sometimes called "true", it could more specifically be called "valid", since checking for inevitability seems quite different from comparing a belief to our own universe. And you could claim, accordingly, that "2 + 2 = 4" is 'valid' because it is an inevitable implication of the axioms of Peano Arithmetic. And yet thinking about 2 + 2 = 4 doesn't really feel that way. Figuring out facts about the natural numbers doesn't feel like the operation of making up assumptions and then deducing conclusions from them. It feels like the numbers are just out there, and the only point of making up the axioms of Peano Arithmetic was to allow mathematicians to talk about them. The Peano axioms might have been convenient for deducing a set of theorems like 2 + 2 = 4, but really all of those theorems were true about numbers to begin with. Just like "The sky is blue" is true about the sky, regardless of whether it follows from any particular assumptions. So comparison-to-a-standard does seem to be at work, just as with physical truth... and yet this notion of 2 + 2 = 4 seems different from "stuff that makes stuff happen". Numbers don't occupy space or time, they don't arrive in any order of cause and effect, there are no events in numberland. Meditation: What are we talking about when we talk about numbers? We can't navigate to them by following causal connections - so how do we get there from here? "Well," says the mathematical logician, "that's indeed a very important and interesting question - where are the numbers - but first, I have a question for you. What are these 'numbers' that you're talking about? I don't believe I've heard that word before." Yes you have. "No, I haven't. I'm not a typical mathematical logician; I was just created five minutes ago for the purposes of this conversation. So I genuinely don't know what numbers are." But... you know, 0, 1, 2, 3... "I don't recognize that 0 thingy - what is it? I'm not asking you to give an exact definition, I'm just trying to figure out what the heck you're ta...

This week’s guest is none other than Christie Woods - the second half of the winning team from Amazing Race Season 31, which is how we first came to know her name. Christie’s partner, Colin Guinn, was our guest on episode 26.Christie has lived seemingly numerous lives: from her time as an actress on the 1997 tv show The New Adventures of Robin Hood, to her work in sports marketing with the NFL, to the Director of Operations for DJI North America. Ultimately, Christie found her calling as an Integrated Sex, Love & Relationship Coach. Christie uses her intuitive abilities to help her clients process past trauma to transcend mediocre (or worse, toxic) relationships. She encourages her clients to go deep within to uncover & release belief systems & thought patterns that no longer serve their highest good.We explore all things sex, love & relationship on this episode and discuss how Christie & Colin managed to turn their collapsing relationship into a thriving one. If you’re struggling in your relationship, you don’t want to miss this episode! In This Episode We Discuss:Turning relationship wounds into wisdomImportance of really seeing your “role in the play”The freedom that comes from imaging the worst-case scenarioRelationships as a spiritual practiceCultivating deeper love by seeing yourself in a clearer wayFinding & healing triggers in your relationshipShowing up intentionally through self discipline & meditationWhat it means to have multiple marriages with one personThought Experiment:One of Christie’s main messages is learning how to identify our triggers - situations that tend to push our buttons and aggravate our wounds. Most of us move through our lives and relationships so automatically that we don’t realize there are wounds being triggered. We believe the people triggering us should change, which gives all our power away. What we don’t realize is that we have power in that moment to perceive things differently and not be triggered at all.Our thought experiment this week is to identify ONE trigger in your relationship (romantic or otherwise). What is it that consistently sends you off the rails? Then ask yourself why. What do you make it mean about YOU when someone behaves in this way? Why? Recognize that you have a choice here. You don’t have to make it mean anything about you.By simply bringing awareness to these situations they’ll begin to loosen. You don’t have to work to let go of the thought or belief. Overtime, these beliefs will let go of their grasp on you.Resources:Dr. Imoto’s The Hidden Messages in WaterDavid Hawkins Power vs. Force: The Hidden Determinants of Human Behavior (introduces the idea of the Scale of Consciousness & The Emotional Code)Learn more about individual coaching with ChristieTake Christie & Colin’s FREE relationship course!Follow Christie on Instagram

Unless you have experienced chronic pain; pain that is ongoing and usually lasts longer than six months, it's hard to imagine how much it can change your day to day life. In addition, the toll it takes on emotions is an added burden to bear. Those with chronic pain may not be able to live life the way they want, which can lead to depression. It's a vicious cycle. There's not a lot I can add to what Judy Foreman has written in her book, A Nation in Pain. All I can add is encouragement. If you are one of over 50 million Americans experiencing chronic pain, get your hands on a copy of this book. Our women's support group, Hopelively, is also available if you need a safe place to vent about pain or discuss treatment plans with other women who experience chronic pain. Here's what we are discussing on A Healthy Bite: Gender and Pain We frequently hear that women have a higher tolerance for pain than men. Generally speaking, is that true? "Women are both more likely to get painful conditions that can afflict both sexes and to report greater pain than men with the same condition, according to studies over the last 15 years" p62. Fibromyalgia seems to affect mainly women, do we know why? People with chronic pain are sometimes told: "it's all in your head." While I believe pain most often has a source, can we trace some pain, or at least worsening of pain, back to emotions and/or stress? Can you talk to us about catastrophizing and why it's one of the worst things you can do when you are in chronic pain? How can we learn to reduce catastrophizing? What techniques can help? Cognitive Behavior Therapy - A change in thoughts, emotions, or behavior towards pain. Distraction - Shifting or moving your attention away from the pain when possible. Biofeedback - How does this work - "if your blood pressure is high the first time and you freak out about it, chances are your second reading will be higher." I feel like this is how chronic pain can sometimes trigger anxiety. Meditation - What part of meditating helps chronic pain? (Different ways people can meditate, how it does not have to relate to Eastern Religion, Tai Chi, or SloFlow, which reforms the art of Tai Chi Chuan into a Christian exercise using sign-language and bible verses. Hypnosis - Alterations in perception, memory, and voluntary action Empathy - As a learned coping skill, it helps if doctors have it. Can a loved one become overly sympathetic to the point they feel another person's pain? Pain Relievers Opioids NSAIDs Acupuncture Massage Energy Healing Spinal Manipulation Exercise: The Real Magic Bullet Listen to Judy explain why Exercise is Medicine in this episode!) People who are in chronic pain and need to exercise: arthritis, fibromyalgia, chronic low back pain, often are fearful of doing so. What do we know about bed rest and avoiding exercise due to chronic pain - not talking about broken bones, etc? "To date, there is no scientific evidence that activity and exercises are harmful, or that pain-inducing activity must be avoided," says Dr. James Rainville (spine and rehabilitation specialist) p. 284. We are talking about chronic pain here, not chest pain/heart attack symptoms. If you are having chest pains, call 911 or seek medical assistance. Bible verses for Meditation: Mark 5:25-29 NIV 25 And a woman was there who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years. 26 She had suffered a great deal under the care of many doctors and had spent all she had, yet instead of getting better she grew worse. 27 When she heard about Jesus, she came up behind him in the crowd and touched his cloak, 28 because she thought, “If I just touch his clothes, I will be healed.” 29 Immediately her bleeding stopped and she felt in her body that she was freed from her suffering. KJV 25 And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years, 26 And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse, 27 When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment. 28 For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole. 29 And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague. Meditation: What does it take to receive a blessing from God? When did Jesus ever teach anyone that his robe would heal? This one seems to catch him by surprise. As we read it we wonder how much Jesus’ mind remained in eternity and how much in mortality. It makes it seem as thought this miracle was stolen from Him. When she responds to His question it is almost as though she is afraid as a thief would be. Did she trick Jesus? I find this scripture interesting because it seems to be so different than the way that most of Jesus’ healings take place. The people come and ask Jesus for a miracle and he tells them what he expects from them and then does the miracle, or not. Jesus did not proclaim his power to descend on this woman, yet it is also clear that this woman had amazing faith. I find the placement of this scripture to be very interesting also. It is right in the middle of another story. The story where a powerful religious leader begs Jesus to come and heal his daughter. He sent servants to bring Jesus to his house to heal her with His words or actions. This woman does it the other way around. This scripture shows us that there is no one way to approach the Throne of Power. There is no one way that we need to pray or ask for his blessings. Some days we will run out of options and pray for him to come and rescue us. Other days we may think of an amazing thing to do or to try and it is blessed with His favor and everything works out. We may find ourselves wondering how to get that to come out the same every time. Imagine how this woman would have responded if she needed something else from Jesus. Would she sneak up behind him and touch his clothes again? Perhaps but she may find that this way didnt work this time. Just as when Moses used multiple ways t o make water to spring from the rock. God’s power is not limited to a manual. If there is something that you need from God. Perhaps flip your style on its head and try it the other way. Meditation of Prayer: Pray as directed by the Spirit. Dedicate these moments to the patient waiting, when you feel ready ask God for understanding you desire from Him. Meditation of God and His Glory / Hesychasm: I invite you to sit in silence feeling being patient for your own faults and trials. Summarize what insights you have gained during this meditation and meditate and visualize positive change in your life: This is a listener funded podcast at patreon.com/christianmeditationpodcast Updates: Final Question: What do you plan to change in your life as a result of God’s discipline? Final Thought: God cannot be approached like a robot or a slot machine. He forms relationships with us and then pushes us as we need in that moment. He makes us uncomfortable and even when we receive his blessing sometimes we feel afraid that we did it the wrong way. The truth is, he knows this. He knows that we want an easy and predictable way to approach him for what we want. He knows we want to be spiritually lazy in pursuit of Him. He doesn’t make it that easy or boring. It is always an adventure to discover how He is going to do it this time. How will things be the same and different from next time. I hope this message helps you challenge your rigid assumptions on what God will and wont do. Tod became interested in Taoism after reading The Tao of Pooh (by Benjamin Hoff) in his 20’s. Several years later, Tod sought out podcast resources to revitalize his spirituality, but was unable to find something that spoke to his needs. So, he decided to start his own podcast, and What’s This Tao All About was born. Dr. Carl Totton is a clinical psychologist and founder of the Taoist Institute in Los Angeles, where he offers Chinese internal health and martial arts instruction. How your body receives grounding within the changing electromagnetic field of Earth As we have changed in consciousness, so too Gaia’s consciousness and therefore the Earth has changed. The electromagnetic field of the Earth is constantly shifting and changing. More so now. This meditation is one way of helping our own electromagnetic field (our aura) listen and respond to the changes in the Earth’s electromagnetic field and the consciousness of Gaia. Here is a meditation inviting your body to remember its innate connection to your soul. Deeply relaxing, this meditation includes segments of releasing energies within your body and your aura. By inviting those energies that match your soul from within the lower dimensions to reestablish their natural connection to you, a fluid and ongoing energetic dialogue is created between your soul, your body, and the Earth. This is a new style of grounding which serves us well as we move into a new era of consciousness. Our Western culture has cultivated such a dependence on our heads and our ability to think that it has also cultivated a disconnection with our bodies. We have ended up with lovely bodies that walk our heads around. Fear has become an intrinsic way of life. It has become our daily companion. This is because we as humans can not access our own body’s knowing and telepathic experience of the world which lies within our navel chakra and within our enteric nervous system. As we recover this lost skill, we will get better at feeling what is and isn’t actually a danger to our body. As this happens, our level of fear decreases. My guides during this meditation included Thoth, Shesat, Mary and Archangel Michael. Includes a sound healing with Native American Flute player Lenore Wiand and myself singing. Lenore’s album Ancient Spirits is available at iTunes or Amazon.com Lenore uses the recording name of Aluna on this album. 1 Introduction 2 Confusion and Fear signal lack of grounding into body 3 Invoking Sacred Space 4 Polarity: we are both sides of the same coin We are both Individuals existing within the skin of our body, as well as Beings capable of connecting into All That Is. 5 Meditation: What our energies feel like to us What other energies feel like to us 6 How do your ovaries / testicles want to relate to your soul and the Earth? 7 Sound Healing: Gentle Remembrance with Lenore Wiand, Native American Flute 8 Navel Chakra Empowerment 9 Releasing Sacred Space 10 Gaia and Earth and Us We are all changing, and so we must remember to listen to each other in order to dance together easily 11 For more information This meditation is offered free of charge, but donations are always welcome. To receive notices of events, monthly sound healings sign up for Norma's newsletter atwww.healingchants.com -Norma
An hour of experiential healing meditations from Archangel Michael and Mary through Norma Gentile based on her essay Micromanaging God: How We Pray Matters *includes the sound healing "O Creation of God" (O factura Dei, available on the CDs Songs of Spirit and Healing Chants of Hildegard) composed and sung by Norma to the poetry of Hildegard of Bingen. 1 Micromanaging God: How we Pray Matters 2 Invoking (and Explaining) Sacred Energies 3 Meditation: What in Your Life is ready to be released? 4 Finding more Ease in Your Life *5 Meditation Chant: O Creation of God / O factura Dei 6 Strengthening the Bond between Soul and Body 7 Meditation: Weaving Your Soul into your Body, Mind and Heart 8 Meditation: Cleansing Body and Aura (4 feet around you) 9 Creating the New You 10 Releasing Sacred Space 11 For more information Total Time: 1 hour, 15 mins Do the forms you are currently manifesting serve you? Does your life now reflect what your soul desires to manifest? What is the quality of ease that your soul wants your body to have in your life? Manifestation is an energetic process within our throat or 5th chakra working in tandem with our navel chakra and knee chakras. The quality at which our skin rubs against our physical reality is largely determined by our soul. Most of us have accidentally created much more friction in our lives than what our soul means for us to experience. With this meditation we help you find the quality of ease that your soul means for your body to have in your life now. Sometimes it is our expectation that it will be difficult to release something that actually makes it difficult. Most of the time, the old is really uncomfortable, and we have simply grown used to the discomfort. The more we let go, the more ease we have in our lives. Spiritual energetic waves are always coming towards us. But the new can't arrive until we have let go of the old. In the ocean of life, you can't surf two waves at once! What if we were to shift healing and prayer away from the idea of needing help and giving help? What if we saw healing as being a situation where a person's soul and body are recognizing a potential for strengthening their connection? Together the soul and body have identified a weak link that they are ready to change. It is only the personality that is holding us back from moving easily along that path of change.
