For more than thirty years, Edwidge Danticat has written about the experiences of Haitians and Haitian Americans in fiction, memoir, and journalism. In The New Yorker, she has covered the ways in which the Trump Administration has targeted Haitian immigrants with lies and threats of deportation. In a new novel about a Miami real-estate broker, called “Dèy”—which means “grief” or “mourning” in Haitian Creole—Danticat considers the meaning of home “when home may not want you,” and when violence in Haiti may preclude returning there. She speaks with the New Yorker staff writer Doreen St. Félix about the novel, and what the revocation of Temporary Protected Status for Haitians means for the large Haitian American community. Kevin Maher (Creative Dir/Choreographer) has spent decades dancing, choreographing, teaching (Madonna, Rihanna, Britney Spears, Bad Bunny), and figuring out what actually matters to him as an artist. We trace his path from hustling through the late-'90s NYC dance scene to performing with artists including Missy Elliott and Mariah Carey, and what happened when the reality of the work didn't always match the dream. Kevin gets into why he resists labeling his choreography by dance style, what 'being bad' can unlock, knowing when it's time to move on, and valuing your influences without feeling pressured to put your movement into a box. We also get practical about getting unstuck when choreographing, bringing freestyle into choreography, creating under a time crunch, returning to your basics, and taking class without needing to be great at everything. This one gets into craft, artistic identity, career longevity, and building a dance career that actually feels like your own.

The legal net continues to tighten around controversial social media influencers Andrew and Tristan Tate. Romanian prosecutors have formally issued a new, comprehensive indictment against the brothers, introducing severe charges that include the trafficking of minors, sex with a minor, money laundering, and witness tampering. This major legal escalation stems from an extended multi-year investigation by DIICOT, Romania's anti-organized crime agency, which now alleges the brothers generated millions through the exploitation of victims recruited years prior. In this episode, we break down the complex web of legal troubles currently surrounding the Tates. We examine the specific allegations within the new Romanian indictment—including claims of coerced webcam operations, asset laundering through luxury vehicles, and witness intimidation. Furthermore, we connect these developments to their ongoing detention in Miami, where they are simultaneously fighting extradition requests from the United Kingdom on separate sex crime allegations. Whether you are tracking global legal systems, interested in high-profile international crime news, or trying to separate fact from social media spin, this episode provides a clear, objective analysis of the facts. We explore:The New Indictment: A detailed breakdown of the minor trafficking, sex crime, and money laundering charges filed by Romanian prosecutors. The Financial Allegations: How authorities claim illicit funds were funneled and disguised through luxury assets. The International Legal Chessboard: Balancing the preliminary court reviews in Bucharest with ongoing U.S.–U.K. extradition hearings. The Defense Strategy: Looking at how the Tates' legal team plans to challenge the procedural validity of the new charges. Do you see people the way Jesus sees them?In today's episode, Stephanie Alessi Muiña takes us into James chapter 2 and challenges us to examine the subtle ways favoritism can show up in our lives. Together, we'll discover why our value is never determined by status, appearance, income, influence, or what we can offer others. Our value comes from Jesus alone. We'll be encouraged to follow Jesus' example by noticing the people others may overlook, starting the conversation, learning their name, including them, and reminding them that they are valuable in God's eyes.Let's join in prayer and devotion as a community, asking God to help us see every person the way He does and become people who intentionally make others feel seen, loved, and valued.Tap HERE to send us a text!
