This week we are talking about Aharen is Indecipherable Season 2. And picks up right where Season 1 leaves off, with Raido and Aharen officially a couple heading into their second year of high school. And it keeps the same slow-burn romance but then things start to open up with new faces and they also give more time to the side characters that also shed some light on Aharen's past. The show mainly stays on point but they started to pick up pace and started to time skip to cap it all off with a major time skip to land an “actual ending”.Next Week's Pick: "The Executioner and Her Way of Life"Have you had the chance to watch Aharen is Indecipherable Season 2 or any of our previous selections?

This week we are talking about Aharen is Indecipherable Season 1 as recommended by Jeb. And it is a show that is certainly a slow burn to say the least. And by that we mean if you go by the 3 episode rule for anime then you will certainly pass this one by as it takes about 5 episodes to really grab you. That is not to say that those first few episodes are not entertaining in their own way, just that they are not enough to grab you so that you watch the whole season. But once you get past that you do find the series enjoyable but even still in the podcast we can't help but get off track and go off on some tangents mainly because the show while it did have content it just was not very wide or deep. It was all very surface level.Next Week's Pick: "Aharen is Indecipherable Season 2"Have you had the chance to watch Aharen is Indecipherable Season 1 or any of our previous selections? This week are talking about By the Grave of Gods Season 2 as recommended by Jeb. And this week it was a nice revisit for us and a break for what we have been watching. The show is overall was solid and picked up right where season 1 left off so if you are watching the series all together at the same time. That being said the story was pretty straight forward no surprises or anything like but we did have some questions that we know we will never get answers to but still it was fun to think about. All in all though we found the story solid enough but it was not with out it's flaws but even with that they are not that big and can be over looked.Next Week's Pick: "Aharen is Indecipherable"Have you had the chance to watch By the Grave of Gods Season 2 or any of our previous selections? Ranking different epochs in the history of Anime isn't for the uninitiated; it requires the wisdom of an Arataka Reigen, the battle prowess of a King from One Punch Man, the pathetic capacity to cry on demand of a Hanagaki Takemichi, and the incredible usefullness of Rock Lock's ability. With us on this intrepid endeavour is our guy @Shownentell. Join us. Every effort is made to keep spoilers to a minimum. (The only exception being older titles)
Here's a rundown of all the best parties and off-sites that will be taking over the Gaslamp Quarter at San Diego Comic-Con 2025. This week are talking about Akudama Drive and honestly for us it was not that great of a show. It was not horrible but it also was not great. This anime follows a group of criminals that all literally named after what their crime or specialty is, like Courier, Brawler, Doctor, Hacker. Each character has a unique design and video game-like feel which is not to surprising since one of the creators worked for a game company. But one of the major downsides for us aside from the pacing was how predictable everything was. We also dig into the weird pacing issues, the over-the-top gore that felt gratuitous with the amount of censorship there was as well. Basically it was watchable but forgettable, especially if you're hoping for something engaging.Next Week's Pick: "By The Grace Of Gods Season 2"Have you had the chance to watch Akudama Drive or any of our previous selections? On this week's episode, I'm rejoined by Crunchyroll EVP Mitchel Berger to talk about anime's increasing popularity with those yearning for community. We reference a report on the state of anime several times; you can read it here. The long and the short of it, though, is that anime is increasingly popular with Gen Z and Gen Alpha, which will likely come as no surprise to anyone who has seen the wall of manga in their local Barnes and Noble. From theatrical rollouts in the United States and around the world to the 17-million-subscriber-strong Crunchyroll streaming service to the sold-out Anime Expo in Los Angeles earlier this month, it's an enormous segment of the market that holds a deep attachment to younger audiences. If you enjoyed this week's episode, I hope you share it with a friend!

This week we are talking about Vexations of a Shut-in Vampire Princess which was a recommendation from Shut In Jeb. And it was an interesting choice. The anime overall was enjoyable for both of us. But at the same time there were several questions that we had for most of the show that we watched and it was not something that we could look over. We dive into things that are not fully explained by the anime and it left Jack with a bad taste in his mouth. And for Rick there were somethings that he could not get past. But it is one that we would recommend. All in all this is a show that is still worth a watch.Next Week's Pick: "Akudama Drive"Have you had the chance to watch Vexations of a Shut-in Vampire Princess or any of our previous selections? Serious question, why call something Rebirth, if there is no rebirthing, where was the rebirthing? Yes I have a full review of Jurassic World Rebirth in todays drop. Plus more fallout from the Microsoft and Xbox layoffs, and who is to blame? Helldivers 2 is dropping on Xbox next month, and Nintendo ponders the future of game development. ScarJo is now the highest grossing lead actor ever, John M Chu is going to be racing into theaters as the director of Hot Wheels. Meanwhile James Gunn and Zack Snyder portal into Rick and Morty in the least suspecting way.
In this hilariously unfiltered episode of Anime Minority Report, comedians Jamie and Guerby are back on the mic with their July Anime Report—breaking down what's new, what's returning, what they're watching, and what's getting the hard pass. Jamie goes full scorched earth on Rent-A-Girlfriend, officially ending his toxic relationship with the series. (Spoiler: He's never getting that time back.) Guerby plays anime therapist as they unpack that emotional breakup, while both give their final takes on the endings of Fire Force and The Beginning After The End (TBATE). Did they stick the landing or completely fumble the bag? Tune in. Expect laughs, hot takes, and the kind of anime banter you didn't know you needed. This week we are talking about Anime-Gataris which was a recommendation from Major Montana. Was in so many words a love story to the fans of Anime. It hits all the thoughts and lingo that we usually use as well as habits that we use as well when it comes to anime. They in essence called us all out and at the same time broke the 4th wall all to have fun. That being said it was not without it's drawback and they were there for sure. With a shallow story and no real character development this story is purely here for fun and nothing more.Next Week's Pick: "Vexations of a Shut-in Vampire Princess"Have you had the chance to watch Anime-Gataris or any of our previous selections? This week we are talking about Temple which was a recommendation from Jeb. It was a chaotic ride that also was a fan service heavy show. We dove into Akemitsu's painful attempts to stay pure while surrounded by anime's worst temptations, plus the sheer craziness of his dad racking up a 20 million yen debt just so he can try and get a global harem. In the end it was an anime that we laughed at, but because of the chaos we ended rewinding way more than usual just to catch what the hell was happening.Next Week's Pick: "Anime-Gataris" Have you had the chance to watch Temple or any of our previous selections? This week we dive into Rokudo Bad Girls. The story is about a bullied underdog Rokudo who inherits a magic scroll that makes every bad girl, fall head over heels for him any time he's near. We go into detail about the show and the bold‑lined animation style, and we compare Roku's nonstop crying to the energy of Tokyo Revengers, we also wonder whether his shift from pushover to protector ever really sticks. In the end this show only really has surface‑level fun with a dash of character growth, even if our hero stays pretty whiny throughout, so if you're after something deeper, this probably isn't the show for you.Next Week's Pick: "Temple" Have you had the chance to watch Rokudo Bad Girl or any of our previous selections? This week on Anime Pulse we got Aku Joseph, unsolved mysteries, and ten full miles. Up first Joseph hits his goal of a ten mile walk by visiting a cemetery named after his patron saint, and Andrew puts in his PTO for next week. Then in the industry news Crunchyroll makes one of the most idiotic polls ever. Finally in the reviews Joseph unseals a horrible version of himself to talk about why it is a bad idea to try and pickup girls in a dungeon, and Andrew joins the mafia to kill family in a town called Lawless.
The summer is officially here. The Lookout's Summer at Kame House series kicks off with our review of Solo Leveling Season 1. Meelz, LJ, and AD discuss how we feel about Crunchyroll's Anime of the Year, and dive into the characters, the threats, the world building, Sung Jin-woo, and what it represents in this new generation of anime.
In this episode we dive headfirst into 86's brutal drone war nonsense. The Republic claims a “bloodless conflict,” but it's really run on invisible 86ers shoved into glass-cannon mechs. We chat about Lena's efforts to bring hope to Shin and his crew, and what this anime reminds us of in terms of undertones that were not so subtle. We also touch on Shin's psychic telepathy angle and that slow-burn connection between him and Lena. Sure, the pacing stumbles with flashbacks on repeat and a few loose threads never get resolved, but the heart of the story still packs a punch.Next Week's Pick: "Rokudo Bad Girls"Have you had the chance to watch 86 or any of our previous selections? And finally we wrap things up with a fusion review of an anime Joseph wasn't even going to watch at first, until Andrew convinced him to give it a shot.
